"Israel’s military says it launched several strikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Beirut Tuesday, part of a broader offensive that began in September, killing top commanders, carrying out waves of strikes and sending troops into southern Lebanon, with the stated war goal of allowing displaced Israelis to return to northern areas.
More than 3,000 people have been killed in Lebanon since then, according to a CNN tally. And more than a million Lebanese people have been displaced.
In Gaza, the Israel-Hamas war rages on, with the death toll surpassing 44,200, according the [sic] Palestinian health ministry. Meanwhile, heavy rains in recent days have flooded makeshift camps, where displaced Palestinians are bracing for a harsh winter, according to the UN."

Israel breaks ceasefire again by striking Lebanon
The Lebanese army said on Monday that Israel had struck the country’s territory “using various types of weapons.”
Lebanese sources reported that the Israeli army launched a heavy strike on the town of Kafr Kila in the south of the Arab country. On the 26th day of the ceasefire agreement, the Israeli army violated it six times, raising the total number of attacks to 259 since the truce was signed on November 27. The violations killed 31 people and injured 37, Lebanese sources said.
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, 4,061 people have been killed since 8 October 2023, including 1,106 women and children and 222 health workers. More than 16,000 people have been injured.
Earlier, Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee published a social media warning to the residents of South Lebanon. He urged them not to return to their homes in 62 localities on the border with Israel until the next official announcement.
Adraee emphasised that moving south to the said areas could be seen as a threat and become a target for Israeli forces. He also shared a map marking the danger zones.
On November 27, a ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel came into force. Under the agreements, the Lebanese government pledged to prevent any attacks on Israel by Hezbollah or other armed groups on Lebanese territory. Israel, in turn, pledged to refrain from military attacks on land, sea and air targets inside Lebanon.
Lebanese army commander and PM Mikati visit South Lebanon to assess military readiness
Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun visited the headquarters of the 7th Infantry Brigade at the Joseph Aoun in Marjayoun, where he met with officers and soldiers to review their tasks and military readiness.
Prime Minister Najib Mikati also arrived in South Lebanon on Monday to inspect army units deployed on the frontline. The army commander briefed Mikati on the latest developments in the eastern sector of the region.

Being an Israeli means first you learn there's a 48 hour spectral emergency state throughout the country from your neighbors, then you discover why.
Apparently at 5 a.m this morning, Hezbollah intended to strike Israel's northern and central regions. The estimate is around 6,000 rockets were aimed at Israel's north (for comparison, on Oct 7 almost 4,000 rockets were fired at all of Israel starting at 6:29 a.m) and additional suicide drones were intended for Israel's center. According to reports, he latter included an area where there is a big army base bringing to Israel's elite intelligence unit 8200, as well as supposedly a Mossad station. The same area also has Israel's biggest cinema compound, with lots of cinema theaters, shops and dining spots. I can't emphasize how many civilians would have died if this compound had been hit.
At 4:45 a.m, Israel launched a preemptive strike, destroying about 1,000 launchers. Hezbollah attacked northern Israel, but with only 220 rockets. They claim their attack for today was "completed," so it looks like they're trying to save face.
This could escalate rapidly, but if Hezbollah was shaken by the preemptive strike, that's not necessarily how things will turn out.
Either way, please talk to your friends in Israel. There's a good chance they'd wanna hear from you and know that you care about what we're going through as we face these threats.

for those saying that the exploding pagers and phones and walkie talkies is not worth it: remember that communications is a huge part of coordinating where and how an army attacks.
it's never good to escalate tensions but remember that Hezbollah has been bombing Israel for months and aimed a fucking rocket at a children's soccer game killing 12 children.
Israel retaliated for months and years of bombing, pin point attacked the people responsible for that, avoided mass casualties/minimized casualties of uninvolved civilians and made a great statement to the general population of civilians about staying away from terrorists in their personal life.
Edit: I forgot to add that explosive pagers and shit is super funny. I like it a lot. Very goofy and effective.

So Israel legit is a terrorist state at this point
Keep in mind it wasn’t just militants hurt by this they exploded inside hospitals and in civilian areas
Kids were again harmed by this action as it was not targeted nor did it consider civilians or collateral damage in its prosecution
The US is infamous for its disregard for civilians but even they wouldn’t behave like this … Israel is an aggressive terrorist state that doesn’t care who dies in its fascistic genocidal war against all non Zionists in the world and if the world doesn’t start treating them as hostile entities we will see them grow more brazen and bloodthirsty in their actions
They will label children terrorists and then bomb a hospital
They will call your grandmother a humus operative and rape her in front of you just to instill terror in any survivors
They are not allies they seek the destruction of any who oppose them be they Arab, European or even Jewish

IDF shifts forces on Syria border, Lebanon counts 12 more Israeli violations of ceasefire
The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) are preparing to deploy to several areas along the Syrian border, including the summit of Mount Hermon and the wider buffer zone between Israel and Syria, as local media reported 12 ceasefire violations in Lebanon.
IDF shifts forces on Lebanon and Syria borders
The IDF is preparing to deploy to several areas along the Syrian border, including the summit of Mount Hermon and the wider buffer zone between Israel and Syria.
The development follows the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in Syria on December 8 and a ceasefire with Lebanon on November 27. The truce is expected to last 60 days, by which time Israel must withdraw from Lebanon unless new fighting with Hezbollah breaks out.
On the Syrian front, Israeli troops have taken the highest part of Mount Hermon, just above 2,800 metres, which formerly belonged to Syria. Israel has held part of the mountain since 1967, but not the highest point. Now Israeli troops are preparing for winter in the harsh conditions of the peak.
The uppermost part of Mount Hermon is barren and there is bitter cold, often accompanied by strong winds, as well as light snow that usually covers the area for up to two months. IDF troops are prepared for these conditions, as they previously maintained several fortified mountain posts. In addition, in April 2024, the IDF established a mountain brigade to reinforce forces on Hermon and neighbouring Mount Dov, an operational necessity in the face of the Hezbollah threat.
“Eyes” of Israel
On December 17, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz visited the peak of Mount Hermon with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Katz called the mountain the “eyes” of Israel, as it overlooks much of Syria and Lebanon from its height. He said:
“The IDF is here to protect the communities of the Golan Heights and the citizens of the State of Israel from any threat, from the most important place where it is possible to do so.”
The meeting on the mountain was also attended by IDF Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi, Major General Ori Gordin, head of Israel’s Northern Command, and other key Israeli military and intelligence officials. The event emphasised Israel’s decision to remain in the area for the foreseeable future and to strengthen fortifications along the border.
Lebanon counts 12 more Israeli violations of ceasefire
The Israeli army on Tuesday committed at least 12 more violations of Lebanon’s ceasefire, which took effect last month and ended more than a year-long cross-border war with Hezbollah, local media reported.
According to the official Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), the violations were concentrated in the areas of Tyre, Marjayoun and Hasbaiyya in southern Lebanon, and in the areas of Rachaiya and Western Bekaa in the east.
The violations included airstrikes, drone and fighter flights, house demolitions, bulldozing in the streets and artillery shelling. In the Tyre region, an Israeli drone struck a car in the town of Majdalzoun, injuring three people.
The Israeli army also bulldozed several roads and destroyed a house in Naqoura town. Several houses were destroyed in the town of Kfarkela.
While artillery struck the towns of Kfarshouba, Halta and Sheba in the Hasbaiyya area, warplanes flew over the Rahaya and West Bekaa areas at medium altitude.
Lebanese authorities reported 248 Israeli violations of the truce since it came into force on November 27. Since then, Israeli attacks have killed at least 30 people and injured 37 others, according to Anadolu calculations based on health ministry data. Under the terms of the ceasefire, Israel must withdraw its troops south of the Blue Line, the de facto border, in stages, and the Lebanese army must deploy to southern Lebanon within 60 days.
According to Lebanese health authorities, since October 2023, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have killed more than 4,000 people and injured more than 16,500, while displacing more than 1 million others.
