What if Disney adapted Iron Hans?

Three words: Dramatic Origin Story.

As a folktale Iron Hans is a pretty good example of one where there isn't a clear Good or Bad to speak of. Clearly Iron Hans was dangerous and violent while a "wild man", but he poses no threat to the young prince, and in the end it turns out he is actually a king who was cursed to be that strange being with iron skin and shaggy hair.

So instead of following the fairy tale, which would be difficult to stretch out into a whole movie, I think it'd be more fun to tell the story of how the king became Iron Hans. And how Iron Hans came to be at the bottom of the lake attacking people.

This story does have one of my favourite fairy tale tropes "the princess in love with the gardener", and if I was going to make a true adaptation of the fairy tale I'd give a lot of screen time to her requests for flowers and her trying to see the disguised prince's enchanted hair. They have a remarkably cute ending:

"If you can perform deeds like these then you are not a gardener's boy. Tell me, who is your father?" "My father is a powerful king, and I have as much gold as I might need." "I can see," said the king, "that I owe you thanks. Can I do anything for you?" "Yes," he answered. "You can indeed. Give me your daughter for my wife." The maiden laughed and said, "He does not care much for ceremony, but I already had seen from his golden hair that he was not a gardener's boy," and then she went and kissed him.

Iron Hans is a relatively forgotten fairy tale from the Brothers Grimm. These days it serves as sort of a secret bedrock to much of the "wisdom" that Andrew Tate and Jordan Peterson teach- a unfortunate metaphor for many wanting a more trad society dominated by men. It's tough to separate that in my head but I did my best with this iteration, giving him iron skin with braids also metallic. He is a wild man true to the story, giving him more of a monster appearance but one you could find in an animated movie and find charming and sympathetic.

look, I know I don't have any followers for 9-1-1/buddie here but whoever sees this and enjoyed confessions, PLEASE go on the show's instagram and post a nice comment about the new episode and then like any other nice comments you find. the last two posts are FULL of bt's complaining about the show, calling the episode biphobic and acting like lfjr/them got betrayed. it's post after post after post and some comments have hundreds of likes.

I know they're organizing a hate campaign here and I find it unfair for such an objectively great episode of the show and wholly unfair for the crew and actors.
