I also find it super interesting that both Buck and Eddie are acting counter to their normal MOs in communication with Eddie in El Paso. In 8x10 and that convo with Maddie in the kitchen, it’s heavily implied that Buck has not been calling Eddie, despite being encouraged to, despite desperately missing and wanting to talk to him. He’s curbing some of his clinging instincts, and we don’t get a canon reason why not, but I feel okay making my own fanon inference that he’s trying to let Eddie have his own space and adjust how he needs.

Then on the flip side, we have Eddie Diaz, who never talks about his fucking feelings, who literally would rather be in a fight club (although that was a long time ago and he had a lot going on!) than talk about his feelings, calling Buck literally constantly about every single thought and doubt he has. Certainly he’s asked Buck’s advice about parenting before, but I don’t believe we’ve seen him seek out Buck in quite this way before.

It’s just super interesting to see how the distance allows them to break down some of those past traumas around intimacy—for Buck, that he needs to pursue it, recklessly, or it will disappear and forget about him; for Eddie, that it’s unacceptable and terrifying to open up or admit weakness or failure—perhaps because they don’t have the implications of what that intimacy means staring them in the face anymore.

Can’t wait to see them have to navigate the barriers they’ve broken down when they’re back in person 😈

Hate him or love him - It's becoming pretty obvious Tommy/Lou isn't going anywhere and Bucktommy are (as Lou said it) thriving

Bobby telling Buck Tommy is good for him as a sort of goodbye ("I don't have to worry about you, you're in a good place, I know you're happy")

Tommy has connections to characters besides Buck and he's a first responder so it's fairly easy to write him into episodes

I mean I don't see Ryan and the actress who plays Marisol doing interviews together or her being featured in any of the bts stuff (or any of Buck's previous love interests for that matter).

Obviously I don't know what Lou's contract with SWAT is like, but I think he could be somewhere on the same level as Tracie/Karen for season 8

and we'll be seeing more of this

This is a little project that I thought would be fun to do. I'm only one person ( @lonelychicago ) , so I ask for patience and understanding if things don't run as smoothly as they could!

This is a way to spread positivity towards 911 creators (artists, fic writers, gif makers, etc) or simply if you just want to cheer your mutual/friend/partner up! Send them a little virtual bouquet to make their day!

𑁍 ‣ You can order from the bouquets and options specified on the blog, or you can ask for something personalized! If it's for a special occasion like someone's birthday, you can ask a bouquet of that person's birth month's flower, for example.

𑁍 ‣ The orders will be delivered from Thursdays to Sundays, unless asked otherwise (Specify the date and ask at least four days in advance. )

Yes! Of course! Any suggestions and ideas are welcomed. But! Also remember I'm only one person and it might take me a while or I won't be able to do it at all, depending on what your idea is!

Yeah! For example if you want to send different bouquets to different people, you can send an ask for each. Or if you want to order a bouquet and a dried flowers bookmark!

𑁍 ‣ Can I send something to someone who's not a buddie shipper/ is not on the fandom?

Yeah! Buck and Eddie might run the shop but they can deliver to anyone you want. (If they're not on the fandom, they might be a lil confused but you do you, babe!)

Evan groans as Tommy’s hands work over a knot on his back. Tommy pauses briefly, making sure it’s not actually hurting him, before continuing. He works methodically across his back, paying special attention to his shoulders and his right hip. He runs his hands back up to Evan’s neck, gently working the muscles there. Evan sighs as he works his thumbs into a knot at the base of the neck.

“Feels okay?” Tommy asks. Evan hums in response.

Tommy moves to the side a bit, starting to work on Evan’s left arm. He works his way from shoulder to elbow, digging out all the tension of the muscles, smoothing his hands back up to Evan’s shoulder and back down to his elbow. He pauses to put a little more of the massage oil on his hands before working on the lower part of Evan’s arm. He works his way slowly down to Evan’s wrist, careful of the delicate bones there, massaging his palm, then each of his fingers. Tommy briefly links their fingers together, then places Evan’s hand gently back down on the bed. He moves to the other side of the bed and repeats the same process on Evan’s right arm.

“Evan?” he asks softly when he’s done. There’s no response from his boyfriend, just a soft gentle breathing that tells him if he’s not already asleep, he’s about to be. He smiles to himself, glad Evan is finally relaxed. He kneels over Evan’s calves, working the muscles of his thighs, shuffling down the bed to work on his calves. He avoids Evan’s feet, but pays a little extra attention to muscle and scars on his once-injured leg. He drops a kiss to the tattoo by his knee, then gently rubs Evan’s shoulder to wake him up.

“Hmm?” Evan opens one eye blearily.

“Turn over?” Tommy asks.

His boyfriend does so, and pulls Tommy in towards him once he’s settled on his back. Tommy sinks down next to him, his head on Evan’s chest and one arm draped loosely across his waist. Evan tangles their fingers together at his waist and presses a kiss into Tommy’s hair.

“Feel better?” Tommy asks.

“So much better,” Evan murmurs, his eyes struggling to stay open. “Thank you.”

“Any time,” Tommy promises, gently kissing his chest. “Go to sleep.”

Evan’s eyes close and he’s asleep in the space of his next breath. Tommy adjusts himself slightly, nudging his foot gently up against Evan’s leg and using his free hand to pull the sheet up over them.

(911 S7 FINALE SPOILERS BEWARE)

the GASP I GASPED AT THE END OF THE FINALE—

like, not only is Gerard gonna dig up old trauma for Hen and Chimney on top of the stress of their personal struggles with Mara’s custody and the councilwoman, but now the ghost of the firehouse’s past will have a chance to get swings in at the REST OF THE 118 WHO ONLY KNOW BOBBY’S STYLE AND BRAND OF CAPTAINING?!

We’ll be getting Gerard taking swings at an angry, hurting, loose canon version of Eddie without Christopher to temper him. Cruel digs and mind games played with a man who has just LOST HIS SON AND HIS SON’S TRUST IN ONE NIGHT?!

Buck with his stubbornness and loyalty to the actual family of the 118 and Tommy, who he knows got the original Gerard experience, will probably end up head to head with him too many times. Whether he’s subtle about it or loud and proud about his distaste for Gerard, the thought of him maybe ending up in a situation similar to how Chimney was? Stuck as a man behind for his (completely warranted) behavior and catapulted back into the feelings of neglect and loneliness of the lawsuit arc? HEARTBREAKING!!!

AND POOR RAVI— man just came back only to find himself face to face with a racist, hardass of a captain who I have a bad feeling will see “newest recruit” and take that as an excuse to absolutely traumatize this poor man.

also, Tommy having to watch from the sidelines as the captain he loathed for his behavior suddenly be given full access to the found family of the 118? To his boyfriend, whom he obviously cares for pretty deeply, an impulsive but amazing firefighter who just recently came out and is a known favorite of the former captain? Knowing that, unlike when he was in the house and didn’t speak up against his behavior towards Chimney and Hen, now he has no way to even know if they’re okay, no way to stop or redirect that abuse?

I just know that if this man stays as captain for longer than a few weeks, we will be seeing all the emotional hurt come next season and I just HOPE that the writers offer us a little bit of comfort and care for the 118, as a treat and for my personal sanity.

Okay okay one more reflection from 8x13 cause it’s Friday night and what else am I doing: Eddie’s absolution of his mom and damnation of his dad—and the way that parallels his absolution of Shannon and damnation of himself—brings up reallllllly interesting questions for me about Eddie’s social scripts about masculinity and femininity, and heterosexual couple dynamics.

I am simultaneously catching up with the show back in season 2 + watching current episodes, so please correct me if I’m wrong, but I feel like Eddie seems to have a bit of protective/chivalry goggles on when it comes to the women in his life, in a way that also prevents him from acknowledging when they do him wrong. Continually dating only women, then, puts Eddie in this position of being unable to blame them for anything that went wrong, which allows him to constantly pile that guilt and shame back on himself (perhaps…because he already feels guilty dating people he knows he can’t love…which maybe he blames on still being hung up on Shannon…but maybe…is…NOT that…rampant speculation here).

So what does that mean for Eddie if he acknowledges any attraction to men (and Buck in particular)? It is clear that social scripts for heterosexuality have been DEEPLY ingrained for Eddie, and he tries to follow them to a T, so what does that mean when there’s not a script to follow? And what does that mean for his own self-awareness and self-forgiveness if issues come up within a queer relationship? He has never had any issue calling out men who fuck up, from what I’ve seen, and even the Buddie of it all aside, I feel like that could be sooooo liberatory for not-straight Eddie, to not always have a script to fall back on that tells him he’s in the wrong, to be able to actually appraise a situation with a significant other and be like oh I fucked up but so did you…

Whichhhhhh now brings me to the Buddie of it all which is, just, I really can’t imagine a more complementarily written couple than Buck and Eddie because—someone who Eddie can call out when he fucks up? And apologizes? And someone he can apologize to, and be forgiven? Someone who doesn’t run when he breaks down (not that it’s Shannon’s fault; it was a tough ass break on both sides)? Someone who he can authentically recognize the strengths and weaknesses of and love anyway, without any social scripts to follow? THAT would be great storytelling, aside from how much I want it 😅
