Current hyper fixation that isn’t stardew: Japan Rural Life Adventure on my iPad. Can’t seem to find a meaty game guide so I guess I’ll start one for myself somewhat pls don’t mind me, but also if you love stardew and can hear me talking at myself you should maybe try this game it has pretty (albeit repetitive) music, slower paced than stardew, cute doggie, and is doing a great job of keeping my mind off bad life things 💙

Being a cool aunt came with a whole lot of responsibilities. Most of it was the usual of showing up at school plays in outfits that would put any opera-goer to shame, covertly slipping the kids extra pocket money, or rolling up in your freshly polished convertible to pick them up from soccer practice when their parents were busy. But around the holidays more tasks emerged, like taking your niece and nephew trick or treating while their parents were stuck at a work function.
The boy was dressed as Pikachu and his older sister wore the black dress and blank expression of Wednesday Addams. You joined your niece as Morticia, with a long black evening gown that clung tightly to your curves and your corgi by your side dressed as a fish befitting his name.
Originally, you would have left your dog at home to enjoy some peace and quiet after the long hours of playing with the kids but even though you loved him dearly, you didn't trust that sly weasel with an empty home filled with decorations and possibly easily reachable chocolates stashed by not so innocent children's hands.
It was late afternoon and typical for Halloween the sun had already gone down. The first groups of children and chaperones wandered along the sidewalks next to the neatly trimmed lawns of your neighborhood. The street was mostly inhabited by lawyers and doctors and architects, in short, plenty of potential prospects to make your mother ask during every phone call if there was someone on the horizon for you. Usually, you ignored that question, opting instead to silently ponder about the man living in house number 15 with the gorgeous Japanese pine out front and a large pool in the back. You had seen him around the grocery store every so often, inspecting the fresh shiny produce or loading up on a new sack of rice that he effortlessly lifted into the cart. A few times before, he had helped you get something off a high shelf with a polite nod and once at a coffee shop he had paid for your new drink because you dropped the first one just outside the door. And maybe, once or twice, you had stood by your kitchen window, absently nibbling on an apple, waiting for him to run past your home on his morning jog.
When you had seen him on TV during the Olympics this year you had let out a short yelp that had Fish look at you in concern.
The unmovable and kind Olympian neighbor quickly became your crush and you racked your brain trying to think of ways to ask him out.
“Okay munchkins, be cool.”, you told the kids as you headed up the short walkway to number 15’s front door.
They both nodded and your niece rang the bell.
A few moments later the Ushijima Wakatoshi opened, dressed comfortably in dark sweatpants and a gray shirt, holding up a large bowl of what seemed to be expensive French pralines.
“Trick or-“, but before the kids managed to get all the way through the short phrase, Fish spotted a black Shiba Inu strutting down the corridor behind his owner and tugged his leash out of your niece’s hand. In an admirable attempt to catch your dog, your nephew ran after him into Ushijima’s pristine home, and your niece right behind him to get both of them back outside. You and Ushijima just gaped after the chaotic procession racing left into the living room, back out into the corridor, and then right into the kitchen.
Quietly to himself Ushijima had hoped you would stop by today. He had seen you around the neighborhood with the two children plenty of times and although the sight had filled him with a numb lump of disappointment at first, it quickly disappeared once he overheard them calling you their aunt. He asked Tendou to send him some chocolates just in case you’d ring his bell and had kept them in a separate bowl by the door.
He couldn’t help but let his eyes wander for a moment over your tightly fitted dress before calling his dog. The little shadow raced around the corner, tiny paws making scratching sounds on the wooden floor and came to a halt in front of him. Fish’s turn wasn't as graceful. He slipped into the adjacent room before trotting back out, niece and nephew on his tail.
“Sorry.”, both kids bowed as they passed Ushijima Meanwhile, Fish made one last attempt to get the Shiba Inu to play but one stern mention of his name and he hopped over the threshold to be by your side again.
“I am so sorry.”, you also said, bowing as deeply as you could without the dress becoming a distracting issue.
Ushijima smiled and shook his head, dividing the pralines equally among the children whose eyes grew big as saucers at the bounty.
“No need to apologize.”, he said calmly.
With a nervous laugh, you turned the end of Fish's lead in your hands. “This would be so much easier if I had an extra arm. You know, one for each kid and one for the dog.”
“Oh, alright.”, Ushijima took a jacket from a hook and slipped into a pair of sneakers.
“What are you doing?”
“You said you need an extra hand.” And as if to drive his point across he raised both of his.
You blushed. You really didn't want him to think that you were guilt-tripping him into helping out. “This is not necess-”
“I was just about to take him for a walk anyway.”, Ushijima nodded to the well behaved pup still sitting at his feet, then looked back at you, “If you wouldn’t mind some company…?” He let the question hang in the air for a bit, wondering if the “subtle insinuation”-approach Tendou had taught him was not too vague.
“Oh!”, you said, “No, not at all! The more the merrier.”
Followed by his dog he stepped outside into the crisp fall air.
“Who are you dressed as?”, your nephew asked, frowning up at your neighbor about his non-existent costume.
The man was perplexed and halted as he fixed the collar of his jacket, then said, “Ushijima Wakatoshi. - Nice to make your acquaintance.”

What drew you to Tuuni's breed? I've never met one and he is cute as hell but he also sounds like a bit of a terror (while also recognizing he is still puppy...)
Don't get me wrong. He's a terror because he's a 6 month old unneutered puppy. Not because of his breed. He's actually less destructive and less hyper than most dogs his age I've met.
I've known for a while that I wanted to go with a "primitive" breed or a spitz. I considered a lot of different ones from huskies to laikas to shiba inu to akitas. I admire a dog that's a free thinker and a little independent, not stuck right to you trying to climb all over you. I like the look of them, I like how relatively clean and tidy the Japanese spitz type dogs are.
The kishu is a good versatile all rounder. It's not clingy, but it does want to be with you. It's loyal and surprisingly trainable compared to the more independent primitives, with kishu excelling in obedience and other sports. While they were bred for hunting, they don't seem to have as much of a small animal chase drive and Tuuni will ignore rabbits and squirrels.
I got to meet a few in person and I was hooked.
So far Tuunbaq has done well at anything he's asked to do. He will boldly meet new people and approach new tricks and obstacles without flinching. New textures, new places and new sights and sounds barely phase him. He is somewhat dog selective but he tolerates familiar dogs and cats very nicely.
Not only does this breed want to work, it wants to work *with you,* and will happily take a new task and ask for more. On the other hand, he also doesn't go insane and trash the entire house if we skip work for a day. He doesn't need to run for hours or be constantly using his legs or brain in order to settle. He just settles.
Their neutrality to strangers, handler focused attitude, clean tendencies and wash and wear coat make them great little adventuring companions or at home tv time pals.
They are however, still dogs, and dogs start as puppies, and puppies are stupid dick heads. He will grow out of it. I see the scaffolding of an excellent dog able to accomplish a lot. One must build to get there.

Welcome to Revenge of the Underrated!
Some of you asked me to put a "haven't watched both" to be more fair to the more unknown movies, but I've seen other tournaments doing this and I think it limits too much who can participate in the polls. So what I decided to do is a double elimination!
What does that mean? That means a movie has to lose twice to be eliminated. In other words, there will be a sorts of losers bracket that'll be part of main bracket. I'm undecided on whether to do this for only one round or the whole bracket, as it would make the tournament very long. Do let me know if you have any opinion about it.
Anyway, Revenge of the Underrated, Round 1:

Inu-Mothership Spotlight Saturday Update: July 27, 2024: KogKag!
Hi everyone! We here at @inu-mothership are back with a new round of fic recs! Our server has just celebrated its third anniversary this week, and to honor that, we'll be revisiting some of the ships that we featured very early on in our Spotlight Saturday days. This week, we're going back to our very first fic rec list, which was KogKag!
This week, we're back with 15 new fics, all published after our last KogKag list, which was a summary of the 2022 KogKag Secret Admirer event! Stories are listed below the cut in alphabetical order, according to title, with rating and status (ongoing or complete) also noted. We hope you find some new KogKag gems in this list!
The Beauty of Storms (G; complete) by abovetheruins (Ao3)
Outside, thunder rumbled. A flash of lightning illuminated the sky, throwing the tree trunks beyond the cave into sharp relief. Kagome’s breath caught at the brilliant display, though she was distracted from the storm by the faintest whisper of footsteps beyond the cave. Within her next heartbeat, the wall of water bearing down upon the entrance parted as a shadowed figure pushed their way through.
Caught in the middle of a rainstorm, the Inu gang take refuge with the wolf clan. Kouga and Kagome share a moment.
Chasing Fate (M; complete) by @fawn-eyed-girl
Yōkai exterminators Kagome and Miroku are called to investigate the mysterious possessions and murders that have been happening on the late night Musashi train line. When confronted with the culprit, Kagome is surprised to see not one, but two faces from her past…
The one who broke her heart. And the one whose heart she broke.
Can she put the past aside to solve this case? And perhaps also reunite with the ookami who still owns her heart, even after she let him go?
Cultural Variances (T; complete) by @arisukingdom
Kouga has been courting Kagome for years now, but she is clueless. One day, he had the perfect excuse to complete all the courting traditions he knows of but they aren't enough. What does she need?
Duty Bound (E; ongoing) by Nora_Wall (Ao3)
It's been several years since the defeat of Naraku and supposed destruction of the Sacred Jewel. Stuck in the past, Kagome has been trying to adjust to the tedious life of a village miko while harboring a dangerous secret. With the emergence of a deadly illness sweeping through Edo, Kagome is tasked with helping Kouga save his pack. The only problem is that Kouga is determined to use this opportunity to not only save his tribe, but to convince Kagome to be his. Drawn to the powerful wolf demon, Kagome must learn to walk the fine line between following her heart and staying duty bound to protect those she loves.
Happenstance (T; complete) by @megara09
A chance encounter in a dark park with a stranger who saves her.
When Kagome injures herself, Kouga takes her home. After learning that her injury will prevent her from helping at her family’s shrine, he volunteers to help out.
Add in a creepy stalker and a big secret for some extra flavor!
Howling Heart (E; ongoing) by @mynightshining
Unexpectedly stuck in a storm together after time apart forces Kagome and Koga to address the elephant in the room.
Hungry Like a Wolf (T; complete) by @mynightshining
Koga lived centuries as the Pack's bachelor alpha. It's fine, really. It doesn't bother him anymore. He embraced the lifestyle. Little does he know the Tanabata festival has a surprise in store.
Joys of Music (G; complete) by @classysassy9791
Kouga hated waking up early, until he didn't.
Little Red (NR; complete) by Langus (Ao3)
The autumn air was crisp and the full moon high in the night sky. Its light bathed the forest floor in a cool cerulean glow that cast long shadows into the underbrush. She pulled in a cleansing breath and let it out in a rush.
"Chase me," she breathed and immediately began to run.
An Olympic Rendezvous (E; complete) by NeutrInu (Ao3)/ @neutronstarchild
There is a reason that the Olympic Village supplies so many condoms. Athletes need to find ways to relax and celebrate, right? When Kagome meets an absolutely gorgeous wolf demon from the French team, she decides it’s time to ‘relieve some of that post-competition tension.’ And with this much chemistry, who needs a common language?
Open Invitation (G; complete) by monophobian (Ao3)/ @nikkxb
Kouga didn't know what she was studying or why she was studying or why she was so stressed about it, but he did know he could help. Somehow.
He didn't realize how quickly he adapted to Kagome at his den.
Skip (G; complete) by @commandercrouton
Kouga surprised his wife with a romantic dinner for a special anniversary. Except Kagome doesn’t know.
Slipping Traces (M; ongoing) by @pointyobjects
Kagome arrives back home with an education and a new title in her small town: the governor's daughter. It's her job to make every citizen of Serenity Creek feel entirely at home, including the handsome, aloof new Horsehand.
Summer-time Blues (G; complete) by GoblinOnAHouse (Ao3)/ @brain-rot-hour
Kagome has a lot of thoughts about life with Kouga and the Pack.
And summer.
Zephyr (T; complete) by AshMish111 (Ao3)/ @mrfeenysmustache
For Kagome Higurashi, the winds of change blew fast and hard, leaving her tossed about and her world upside down.
They were best avoided.
But sometimes change comes on the gentle currents of a warm breeze, and before you know it you’ve gone too far down stream to turn back.
She should have known;
She’d always associated Koga with wind.

🏥 Kotone Shiomi x Shinjiro Aragaki 🏥 Unfulfulling Rest
The last thing Shinjiro recalled was wanting to run directly towards Takaya and tear his head off. Everything after that point is nothing but a blur, so it must’ve been a hell of a night for him to wake up in the hospital.
He slowly pieced together his surroundings. Tubes and wires everywhere. A white room devoid of life with the exception of a cooking show playing on the television and what appeared to be various gifts on a table near him. Didn’t seem reasonable for that many to have accumulated overnight, so he must’ve been out of commission for quite some time.
Longest eight hour nap he’s ever had. Even his body disagreed with waking up. He barely had it in him to lift his arm, let alone turn his head. Shinjiro was a stubborn man, but his muscles, or apparent lack thereof, were just as stubborn.
It took him a few minutes of fighting to get his arm to move again. Or maybe it was a few hours. Who could say, as his perception of time was quite skewed at the moment. A few minutes (or hours) later, Shinjiro managed to force himself to pick up his phone and work it open. His eyes still felt weak, and he couldn’t quite process the information on the screen, but it was unmistakable which contact belong to Kotone. It never moved from the top of the list, and he knew that blob of a Shiba Inu icon anywhere.
He scratched his brain for a minute debating what to send. Shinjiro was unsure of the date or even the season, as he could only see sunlight filtering in through the windows and nothing else from outside. He wanted to catch up on whatever happened during his nap, but more than anything, he wanted Kotone to know that he was still breathing.
He wanted to know what he missed. He wanted to know when the hell he was. But all he could manage with his feeble fingers was a dog emoji. That singular dog emoji would mean the world to her, and she would tell the rest of S.E.E.S. that he’s fine, no matter what happened. Alternatively, her first instinct would be to come running into his room past hospital staff, neglecting to inform the rest of the team of his well-being. Oh well. At least someone would be aware that he’s fine, relatively speaking.
Shinjiro attempted to lay his phone on his chest, but was taken aback by the sudden tinge of pain. The shock of pain gave him just enough energy to move his hand to his side and drop the phone onto his bed. At least he had some clue as to what had happened to him. Chest injury. And must’ve been a damn brutal one if he’s hooked up to all of this crap.
He would have no choice but to rest, at least until he had the strength to move his body without a fight. Despite being awake again, he would be a dead weight to S.E.E.S. in his current condition. They’re out there busting their asses while Shinjiro didn’t even have the strength to message his beloved girlfriend. Even groaning out of frustration proved to be quite the difficult task for him.
All he wanted to do right now was to shut his eyes and return to sleep after the most unsatisfying nap ever. The desire for answers still kept him awake, albeit barely.
The nurses must’ve been alerted to Shinjiro’s increase in heart rate, as one of them arrived in his room. Upon seeing Shinjiro’s eyes open, a smile quickly formed on her face.
"Finally, some good news," she said.
Shinjiro only had the strength to move his eyes to look at her. He wanted to ask so many questions, where was he, when was he, but his jaw simply refused to budge.
"You’ve been asleep for about five months," she said.
Five months!?
"We didn’t think you were going to make it. Nobody did. You wouldn’t have if that watch didn’t save your life."
...Watch?
The nurse grabbed a clear bag that was on one of the tables. Inside of it was a shattered, once golden watch, now stained red with blood…or what remained of it. If Shinjiro wasn’t told that it was a watch, he wouldn’t have been able to recognize it as such.
...Didn’t Kotone return that to me?
"It absorbed most of the bullet’s impact, though you still underwent invasive surgery to remove the shattered metal. If it weren’t for this, you would’ve been dead on arrival."
So I almost died, and I’m only still breathin’ because Kotone found my watch days prior?
"I’ll be in here to check on you periodically. I can’t stress you out and leave you on your own for too long especially since your chest hasn’t fully healed yet."
Shinjiro managed to roll his eyes. How am I supposed to let you know if I need anything when I can’t even move my damn mouth?
"Until you can speak again, we’ll be tending to your needs on a regular schedule. It must be awful being unable to communicate, but it’s the most we can do for now."
Shinjiro growled a little. Frustrating, as all he wanted to ask was, where is Kotone? What happened to S.E.E.S.?
"You already got your attitude back. That’s quite promising. And I see that you managed to grab your phone," she said, looking at Shinjiro’s phone on the bed.
She grabbed the phone and set it on the table next to him.
"There. So you don’t accidentally break it or knock it down."
Speaking of the phone, shouldn’t Kotone have responded by now? Normally, she’s quick to respond to his messages. Then again, she could be busy. Or just straight up distracted. It ain’t easy being leader after all.
Plus, he didn’t even text her that long ago. At most, it was a few minutes. Or maybe a few hours. Something like that. Shinjiro couldn’t tell.
His attention was redirected to the hallway outside of his room, where it sounded like a ringtone went off. It sounded familiar, but in terms of ringtones, that’s not saying much. A lot of short chimes were quite popular these days. He could barely make out what appeared to be four staff members rolling a cart down the hallway with a sheet draped over it.
Did one of them forget to turn their phone off? That seems rather unprofessional, he thought.
The nurse in his room turned to look at those passing by.
"Ah...she wasn’t as lucky as you. Died without any presumable cause this morning, according to her friends. Still has her phone and everything else on her too."
She looked like she was going to say something else, but quickly stopped herself.
"...No use dwelling on the dead when the living still fights. We're all thankful to see you make your first steps towards recovery, Shinjiro."
Yeah, whatever.
It was starting to get harder and harder for Shinjiro to hold his eyes open. What was he supposed to? An actual nap would hit the spot right now, but if it ended up being his last...
The nurse took notice of Shinjiro’s evident sleepiness.
"You may rest. You won’t die if you take a nap," she said as if she was reading his mind, "you’ve opened your eyes and grabbed your phone, which that alone is stellar progress. Don’t push yourself, and maybe we can have you speaking again in a few days."
Shinjiro weakly groaned in acknowledgement, and the nurse left him alone. A nap wouldn’t hurt after all. Doctor’s orders, apparently.
At least he can look forward to seeing a text from Kotone as soon as he wakes up, that is, if she doesn’t wake him up first.

Very good information of pregnancy from the Yoruba cultural spiritual context:
In the Ifá Creation Myth, the Irúnmolè made the journey from Heaven to Earth in a chain. Just before they reached the surface of the earth, they put some sand in the waters and put a guinea fowl in the sand. When the hen began to scratch the sand, the surface of the earth began to spread, creating solid earth. In Yoruba Ilé Ifè means spreading the earth. So Ilé Ifè is both the capital of the Yoruba Nation and anywhere on the land was land formed in the middle of the oceans.
Humans come to earth through their mothers' pregnancy. According to Ifá, the development of a baby in the womb is guided by specific Irúnmolè in each phase of growth. The genetic characteristics of the human body are determined by Obatala. translated in English, Obàtálá means,; "Chief of the White Cloth." In metaphysical conditions Obàtálá is the Force in Nature that transforms light into matter and gives form to physical Creation.
The selection of genetic characteristics is determined by Korí who is considered the guardian of the spirit of those souls who are preparing to reincarnate in human form. It is Korí that determines the genetic mix of the pool of maternal and paternal influences. 6 the wide range of human physical characteristics is the result of the influences of Obàtálá, Olokún, Oluorogbo, Aláàánú, Oloore, Sùngbèmí, Mágbèmítì, Sáàrágàa and Èjùfìrì.
After conception has occurred and genetic transfer has taken place, the child in the womb is guided by Àjàlá-mòpín and Alududun-Orún. It is Ajdld-mopin's task to select a specific Odu that guides the formation of the individual's Orí (consciousness). After birth, this selection is revealed through divination and the child's parents are given the instruction
regarding the Spirit being selected to guide the spiritual growth of the baby.
This process is the source of the term Òrìsà which means "select head." Once the Òrìsà has been determined, the elements of physical and mental potential have been established. These components are recorded by Aludundun-Orún and become components of the destiny of each individual. Aludundun-Orún means "All Good Things in Heaven." are a fundamental belief of Ifá that if any person lives their life in harmony with destiny, in harmony with their community and in harmony with the Forces of Nature, they will develop good character and experience long life, abundance, good character; and inner peace.
When the child prepares to enter the world by passing through the birth canal, the child enters the realm of Edo-Aro and Odo-Axis. All the memory of previous incarnations and the specific components of the destiny chosen for the current incarnation are forgotten here. This information remains under the protection of the Ipori which is described as the perfect individual living double in Orún (Heaven).
It is the task of all those who worship Ifá and Òrìsà to illuminate those forgotten aspects of destiny that are preserved by Ipori. This enlightenment occurs through divination, meditation, dreams and ecstatic dancing. All these techniques are the methods for creating the Mystical Vision. In Yoruba, the Mystical Vision is called "Láé-láé." The experience of Láé-láé is beyond the limitations of objective language. For this reason Láé-láé is described in mythical and symbolic conditions.
Láé-láé is that place where human consciousness enters into direct communion with the transcendent source of all forms of consciousness.
In the experience of Láé-láé the Orí, Orí inu and Ipori become one. The ceremonial process of initiation (Igbódu) is designed to invoke the mystical knowledge of Láé-láé and give an experience of the perfect alignment to the initiate with the ego and world that occurs when the Orí, Orí inú and Ipori function as one.

one piece theory the secret behind v . nusjuro
Today, in this theory, I will explain what the Secret of V. Nusjuro, who may be a Diamond Dog and his role in the story.
🔍 To answer this question, we'll go through 3 main points.
Venus and Diamond stone
Venus is a Dog demon
Venus cursed Wano and Kuina
Venus and Diamond stone
Did you know that in Hindu mythology, Venus was associated with the Diamond stone?
In the same mythology, Saturn is associated with Blue Sapphire, which is Oda's reference in the story!
Is V. Nus associated with the Diamond stone?
Tumblr media
This would be no surprise as Mr. 1 told Zoro: "Are you going to cut through a Diamond next?" Will Zoro cut through Venus' Diamond next?
Cutting through a Diamond seems to be a difficult task. as Mihawk himself struggled to cut through Diamond Jozu.
2. Venus is a Dog demon The Five Elders are inspired from Chinese mythology - Saturn (ox) = ox demon (Ushi-oni) - Jupiter (sheep) = Shepherd Ju Peter - Mars (fowl) = bird/fowl - Mercury (pig) = boar - Venus is associated with a dog
Tumblr media
The Five Elders also seem to be inspired from Japanese Folklore. Each Gorosei matches a Yokai (Japanese Demon). - Saturn (ox) = Ushi-oni - Jupiter (sheep) = Nuppeppo - Mars (fowl) = Itsumade - Mercury (pig) = Baku - Venus could therefore be a Dog Yokai
Tumblr media
Venus could be the Inugami (犬神), the Dog Yokai (dog god/spirit).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A manga series named Inuyasha (犬夜叉) depicts a half-demon (Inugami), half-human swordsman. - Inuyasha is a swordsman, like Venus. - Inuyasha even has a Diamond sword that can throw diamonds (Venus = Diamond) Is Venus a half-demon dog half-human swordsman, like Inuyasha?

Venus cursed Wano and Kuina
Yamato's Devil Fruit, the Makami, is considered Wano's Guardian Deity.
Did Venus, the Inugami, curse Wano? Panini @writingpanini · 18h Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro seems to be from Wano as "Juro" is included in his nickname.
Zoro's nickname in Wano was Zoro-Juro! Panini @writingpanini · 18h Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro is known as the Warrior God of Finance
Wano was known as the country of gold!
Did Venus, the Inugami, curse Wano? Panini @writingpanini · 18h A very popular Japanese novel talks about the Inugami curse, Venus' curse?
Did the Inugami Venus bound to the swords through some dark ritual or curse, influencing the wielders, driving them toward acts of violence or revenge?
Tumblr media
Panini @writingpanini · 18h Did Venus curse the Shimotsuki family in Wano to get their gold? Panini @writingpanini · 18h Maybe Kuina herself died because of her sword that may have been cursed by V. Nusjuro.
Ginny died because of Sapphire Scale (Saturn).
Law's family died because of Amber Lead (Ju Peter?)
Did Shimotsuki and Kuina died because of Inugami/Diamond Curse (Venus)? Panini @writingpanini · 18h This may trigger a confrontation between Zoro and V. Nusjuro if V. Nusjuro is the one who indirectly caused Kuina's death! Panini @writingpanini · 18h As a conclusion:
Venus may be associated with Diamond
Venus may be associated with Inugami
Venus may have cursed Wano by cursing swords to steal their gold
Venus may have indirectly caused Kuina's death

hey #1 sayaka fan (appointed by me) . how do you come up with your compositions and stuff?? like the colors u use and just generally how ur drawings are layed out, do you have any inspiration or is it just from your brain? absolutely love them ‼️‼️‼️
Oh, hello. ^^ Firstly, thank you for graciously giving me the title of the "number 1 Sayaka fan". I can think of a few people who like her way more than me, though! Anyways. You have provided me an unfortunate opportunity to ramble incoherently about my main inspirations.
Aside from acknowledging that Gekidan Inu Curry is a titular player of how my madomagi works turn out, I very much like video games a lot, specifically the abstract, no-explanation-walking-task-simulator types. Visuals and music combined can help create an otherworldly ambience unlike any other, even more so appealing if the graphics are striking, colourful, and personalised. They sort of resemble liminal spaces, and I want those vibes in my works. It's hard to directly translate them into my own drawings.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dull colours are very effective at being gloomy, but since I'm not good at mixing them together, I often end up sticking to bright ones instead. Whenever I draw Sayaka, I also like to imagine that I'm drawing her in a world where she is the only inhabitant wandering around in it, so that's the 'composition' part. Everything in her world is lonely and vast but ambiguous in a way that feels unintentionally hostile. Music can also affect this. Did you know loneliness can be heard too?
I mentally revisit the colours and visuals of games I have previously played and kind of rotate Sayaka around in them and see what clicks for her that day. I also like putting a bunch of 'boxes' in my drawings of her, which are panels that show something happening elsewhere entirely - they are the way they are since I struggle to blend two different scenarios of Elsewhere in the same drawing. It's meant to resemble the weird, clunky interfaces of the games I like, essentially making it a drawing with interactive mechanics that don't exist.
It is also fun to try and put as much nonsense into her surroundings as possible. Because why shouldn't you give her a bunch of different irrelevant things to look at. Most of the time, though, my backgrounds are fairly empty, since I want Sayaka to be within the frame of focus, and the only thing for others to look at. Having spontaneous close-up shots of the character's face and experimenting with that also yields interesting results. < That's a lot of words to pretend I know what I'm doing.
I do take inspiration from other artists' works as well, but I'm too reluctant/awkward to post their drawings here or mention them. There is probably a lot more that I am forgetting to mention, but this is all I can compose for now. I hope it has been satisfactory. Thank you for the ask!

#C2: Hitori Bocchi’s ○○ Lifestyle (HitoriBocchi no MaruMaru Seikatsu)
youtube
Summary:
Many of us know what it is like to transition to a new school with few to no friends in a new environment, going through the arduous process of getting to know people again. Bocchi Hitori knows this struggle all too well, having just graduated from elementary school and thrown into middle school. Unfortunately, she suffers from extreme social anxiety: she faints when overwhelmed, vomits when nervous, and draws up ridiculously convoluted plans to avoid social contact. It does not help that her only friend from elementary school, Kai Yawara, will not be attending the same middle school as Bocchi. However, wanting to help her, Kai severs ties with Bocchi and promises to reconcile with her when she befriends all of her classmates in her new middle school class.
Even though Bocchi has no faith in herself, she is determined to be friends with Kai again. Summoning all of her courage, Bocchi takes on the daunting challenge of making friends with her entire class, starting with the delinquent-looking girl sitting in front of her…
Propaganda:
This is a fun and lighthearted show. Watch it if you need something cute to chill out! The art is cute and colorful, the music lively, and the animation fine enough.
As it's adapted from a four-panel gag manga, the story is simple and focuses on the various characters. They all have pun-based names related to their main personality trait, so they're easy to remember if you know some basic Japanese (Hitori Bocchi means all alone, for example). The girls are all adorable and fun in their own quirky ways, and I loved seeing the heroine doing her utmost best to overcome her fears -and other challenges- to befriend them in the hope of fulfilling her promise. That's the power of the Do-Your-Best Fairy! They all care for each other (despite some teasing) and help Bocchi with her monumental task, never pulling her down for her struggles but gently pushing her in the back when needed.
But most importantly, Hitori Bocchi is a very relatable character. As someone suffering the same trouble, I related a lot with Bocchi, from her silliest worries to her escalating panic and weird schemes in an attempt to prevent anything wrong. Anxiety is faithfully represented, mixed with the right amount of laughing to how far Bocchi can get to avoid fearful situations in her very cute ways. It feels good to see a character like me in a such positive light! The struggles are real and acknowledged, and it’s really moving to see our heroine overcome them little by little in a very humanizing way.
This series has become one of my comfort materials, and I come back to it when I need hope and inspiration in everyday social interactions! If you need one last thing to be convinced, listen to that most adorable and silly song that will give you the Power of Motivation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGoGwlNmZUQ
Trigger Warnings: None.

#C3: Inuyashiki: Last Hero
youtube
Summary:
Ichirou Inuyashiki is a 58-year-old family man who is going through a difficult time in his life. Though his frequent back problems are painful, nothing hurts quite as much as the indifference and distaste that his wife and children have for him. Despite this, Ichirou still manages to find solace in Hanako, an abandoned Shiba Inu that he adopts into his home. However, his life takes a turn for the worse when a follow-up physical examination reveals that Ichirou has stomach cancer and only three months to live; though he tries to be strong, his family's disinterest causes an emotional breakdown. Running off into a nearby field, Ichirou embraces his dog and weeps—until he notices a strange figure standing before him.
Suddenly, a bright light appears and Ichirou is enveloped by smoke and dust. When he comes to, he discovers something is amiss—he has been reborn as a mechanized weapon wearing the skin of his former self. Though initially shocked, the compassionate Ichirou immediately uses his newfound powers to save a life, an act of kindness that fills him with happiness and newfound hope.
However, the origins of these strange powers remain unclear. Who was the mysterious figure at the site of the explosion, and are they as kind as Ichirou when it comes to using this dangerous gift?
Propaganda:
This show is nowadays remembered for referencing One Piece and its obvious CGI, but it’s so much more than that. Inuyashiki is a beautiful, dark, dramatic exploration of humanity, showcasing the brightest good that humans are capable of and the most horrific evil. It seriously explores both extremes, and it forces the audience to solemnly watch every step of the way.
It also has an AMAZINGLY badass OP and a beautifully sad ED, perfectly encapsulating the duality of the show itself.
Trigger Warnings: Animal Cruelty/Death, Flashing Lights, Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore, Rape/Non-Con, Suicide

AU ; INUYASHA.
--- You should be content with just surviving and living your ordinary lives. Give up this useless task, and live.
Muzan is a powerful demon from antiquity, and one of Inu no Taisho's many conquests. He initially rose to notoriety during the early heian period, when after amassing enough power, he was able to begin his grand conquest. His presence could only be described as a calamity, with how he ransacked and devoured entire villages at a time, leaving nothing in the wake of his destruction. There were even whispers to suggest he had consumed a divine spirit and gained immense powers because of it.
His attacks became more vicious and frequent. So in retaliation to this beast, a group of humans formed the first band of demon slayers, whose main purpose then was to kill this demon. But their endeavors alone were not enough to bring him down. Eventually he became emboldened by his growing power, and Muzan grew arrogant enough to begin encroaching on fellow demons' lands. That was when he was challenged not by a mortal, but the legendary dog demon Toga.
Their grueling battle went on evenly for days, devastating swaths of the land. Until in the end, Toga emerged victorious. He parted with one of his fangs to ensure Muzan remained sealed forevermore. And since that day so long ago, Muzan has remained dormant. Or at the very least that is Myoga's retelling of the story.
This tale has all but faded into legend at this point, and all traces of Muzan's existence along with it.
And it would be fated to be so, until Naraku sought to consume the elder demon and assimilate his power into his own body, and released the Muzan from his slumber.

So here’s the Apsu event, Apsu is plotting to remake a more quiet peaceful world since the Vanitas Apocalypse will happen soon, and he summons Tiamat to inform him of his goals. However he angers her when he says he will create the new world with a multitude of goddesses which angers her and leads the two to start fighting. She recruits the Liberators to get revenge on her shameless hubbie two-timing her to sleep with inferior women, making clear this is a couples dispute. They fight some of-

One of the other ladies, Sarasvati, however, planned on sacrificing Tiamat to allow her husband Brahma to incarnate using Apsu and is insulted by the idea Apsu could ever compare himself to her Brahma! She gets defeated when her letting her guard get dropped during the Goddess cat fight got her blemished by a cut, while Tiamat is more than happy to get bruised-

Both husband and wife Duke it out until Tiamat is finally slain, which angers Apsu and he finally reveals his goal: He set up the consorts with the goal of sacrificing them to gain power and become the sole progenitor of gods in this new world, thinking Tiamat would be thankful he took up the task of being father and mother equally so she didn’t have to bare the burden. So the entire conflict boiled down to marriage miscommunication, though the Liberators brush aside the fact she could have agreed with what he was doing, since at the end of the day his refusal to tell her beforehand and her anger at him cheating meant they didn’t listen to the other in the end.
Also neat little detail of Apsus unique death animation: He spins around several times before losing momentum.
