bio.
Amelia Roberts was born on the side of the road in a rundown truck to two people who were not ready to be parents again. Second born and only girl, she was a spitfire from the beginning. She had to be in order to survive in her household. Her father, a drunk narcissistic asshole always brought his friends around which caused a lot of unnecessary trauma to the young girl. Her mouth was a defense mechanism that sparred her and got her into more trouble than it did help her. Her mother, a wine drinker, always told her that she wished she was never born. Life was not all rainbow and sunshine in the Weir household.
Her parents fought constantly and never did they fight in private. Amelia was always around when it happened and that was what she thought love was supposed to be like. Her older brother, by a few years, would often bring home a plethora of girls - and the occasional guy, but don’t tell their father - and he would act like a spitting image of their father. She loved her brother but she hated that he took after their parents. She was glad when her mother seemingly left them when Amelia was eight. At least she didn’t have to hear them fighting any longer.
As Amelia got older, she started running the streets and getting into trouble especially with the boy next door, Liam Granger. They both came from pretty tough backgrounds and they found solace within one another. With rooms facing each other, they came up with their own secret language when they needed the other one. Whether it to be going out of their homes in the middle of the night or if one needed to get away from their home; they were there for each other through it all. They had a very toxic relationship from the beginning but they were also the product of their own environment. They fought but they loved even harder.
When they got into high school, they dated off and on. They couldn’t decide whether they wanted or be together or not so they constantly got together to then break up. It wasn’t until their junior year where things started to get serious. There were talks of leaving this small town and as soon as graduation came, Amelia wanted to be gone. She wanted Liam to go with her and when he said no and told her to go, she did just that. He broke her heart but she was one to spite someone so she moved all the way to the Massachusetts where she got into Harvard law school. Even though she came from a tough background, she worked her ass off in school so she could make something for herself.
Law school was hard but she persevered and eventually got her Juris Degree. Then came the bar exam which she passed in the first go round. Eventually, she found herself working for Harding Mazzotti LLP as a first time lawyer. The work was rough and some days she didn’t think she could do it but then she thought about her home life and that she was determined to be something great. She didn’t get out of Covington just to become nothing.
Over the next few years, she continued her work at the firm and didn’t do much of anything afterwards. She stayed to herself and went on random dates but she was more focused on her work than anything. While her friends got married and had babies, she became the fun aunt. Her idea of marriage and love had been tainted from the start and she wasn’t about to let it get in her way again. Instead, she slept around but kept her head under lock and key.
On the eve of her 30th birthday, she got a call from a friend in Covington that told her that her brother had been arrested on some drug charges and they needed her. Even though she wasn’t ready to go home, she had to for him. She could only give legal advice but nothing more than that. After his bail was paid, she decided to stick around until she could find a lawyer to get his charges cleared. Thankfully, she found a good lawyer and his charges were dropped due to the cops not reading him his Miranda Rights and she was going to leave to go back home when he asked her to stay.
Reluctantly, she said yes and had movers pack up her apartment and deliver her stuff to a storage unit. She moved back home with her dad and brother where she tried so hard to escape from but your roots will always drag you down to the ground. Life felt like it had frozen in Covington and while she may have gotten out, nothing about the town had changed. Part of her knew that she didn’t belong in this town anymore but she quickly fell back into her old ways.
It was a couple weeks that she had been in town when she signed to be a member of the Georgia bar association. She got sworn in by the Superior Court and soon became a practicing lawyer. Soon, she got a job working at Perry Mason law firm and fit right in as one of their defense attorneys. It wasn’t an easy road due to her reputation in the town and who her family was but they gave her a chance and that was all that she needed to begin again.
While her being in town is bringing back all of her insecurities and memories, she feels more at home than she did in Massachusetts. It wasn’t an easy transition and it’s something that she still has to deal with everyday. She is trying to hard to be better than where she came from but she’s having a hard time fighting the demons that threatened to keep her there so many years ago.

ynpattinson For the past few months I have been preparing for my biggest role ever, putting my phone and scripts aside and reading magazines and many other books, listening to pieces of advice given by my mother and being educated for a new part in our lives. We are incredibly thankful for our baby girl and can't wait to meet her, so I only ask of you guys to give us a break, and some privacy and you will hear from us again when we are ready.
Love, Robert and Y/n Pattinson

Characters
Hey folks, I had an idea. So I'm writing a fic called Once More, With Feeling, and I am about ready to put another chapter out, but at the same time I have also finished the character sheet of every character in my fic who goes to school at the same time as Harry (whew.)
So my idea was that I would release said character sheet and people could do asks pairing a character with a subject they liked (for example, Keiko Tanaka with older lesbian awakening) and I write them a chapter if I could, because 1. motivation and 2. it would be fun!
One note: please don't use any original characters without asking. I know there's still a chance that it will happen and maybe it's not fair to ask, and if so lmk, but if at all possible, if you are reading this, inherent creative copyright is the basis of all fanfiction and if we can't agree on that, so much of what we love wouldn't exist. If you ask I'm 100% amenable to the characters being used, but please ask.
Okay, without further ado, here is the list as of right now, with Harry as a first year. When I get to the next year I'll reblog with the new kids and without the seventh years. The * refers to an original character, and the (a) refers to a character that has already been introduced in the story, which doesn't mean they can't get a chapter written but means they may already have a bit of a personality.

It has 9 original songs written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez from upcoming social media art and literature platform Dreamworks’ Princess Amelia and the Pied Piper
It inculdes 9 original songs written by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.
1. Welcome to Hamelin (Parody of "Welcome to Rosas" from "Wish")
2. I Almost Remember (Once Upon A December) (From "Anastasia")
3. This Journey To The Past (From "Anastasia")
4. Life's Too Short (From "Frozen")
5. And This Is The Thanks I Get?! (From "Wish")
6. I Make This Wish (From "Wish")
7. Let It Go (From "Frozen")
8. Let It Go (Reprise) (A Fanmade song from "Frozen")
9. I Make This Wish (Reprise) (From "Wish")
Welcome to Hamelin (Parody of "Welcome to Rosas" from "Wish") is about when in the film and social media art and literature platform’s opening number, Amelia (voiced by Ariana DeBose in her singing role) introduces us to the town of Hamelin where she lives from her new home, where everyone is content because they know the rat catcher and magical flutist Pied Piper (Emmanuel Pahud, the flutist when Pied Piper is unable or chooses not to speak) for their hearts desires and wishes for him to tell the story of him for the 5th anniversary of the story of The Pied Piper of Hamelin.
I Almost Remember (Once Upon A December) (From "Anastasia") is about when Amelia is reminiscing about her life as the princess of Hamelin. She distantly remembers of her childhood living within the palace, and she feels a strong sense of nostalgia as she wanders from room to room. Later on, she imagines the ballroom coming to life as dancers waltz across the floor. She sings of remembrance, memories, and a sense of forgetting something she once held near and dear to her heart.
This Journey To The Past (From "Anastasia") is about Amelia has just recently wandered the forest and is now making her way to the kingdom of Far, Far Away in an impulsive decision to find her old home. She sings about finding her path through life and making it to her way, where her old home must live and where her past must reside. In other words, she is on a “journey to the past”—the past that she had been her old home before. Pied Piper follows his lead to Amelia's path.
Life's Too Short (From "Frozen") is the hero and villain duet song is about Amelia trying to using Goldilocks to be her sister, and the two former sisters finally being friends now that Goldilocks' secret is revealed. Their opposite personalities keep them away from one another, though.
And This Is The Thanks I Get?! (From "Wish") is the villain song is about the citizens of Hamelin and the people of Far, Far Away are close to revolt as they press Goldilocks (voiced by Judy Kuhn in her singing role) for greater transparency regarding what she is doing with her entire life as she spies on Amelia falling in love with Pied Piper. Goldilocks goes back into the Far, Far Away palace and vents about the ingratitude of her subjects, amid much complimenting herself on her good looks.
I Make This Wish (From "Wish") is about Amelia (voiced by Ariana DeBose in her singing role) has found out that Pied Piper (voiced by Emmanuel Pahud, the flutist when Pied Piper is unable or chooses not to speak) has no intention of not paying the piper that the citizens of Hamelin have fooled to him. Outraged, she finds a high spot outside the castle and sings this song about wishing she had the power to help not only Pied Piper or Goldilocks, but everyone in the town of Hamelin and even the kingdom of Far, Far Away. And she looks up the stars and makes her wish.
Let It Go (From "Frozen") is about Amelia with her struggles to find her place in a world that knows her and a life she’s knew that she too many bad things of.
Let It Go (Reprise) (A Fanmade song from "Frozen") is about when Amelia (Ariana DeBose in her singing role) pleads to the people of Far, Far Away and the citizens of Hamelin to change its future and stop Goldilocks (Florence Pugh in her speaking role).
And the final song is I Make This Wish (Reprise) (From "Wish") is about an aftermath of Goldilocks' defeat, Amelia saw Pied Piper statues him to death, she wishes for him to come back alive, promises him to see her as the magic of an act of true love. Amelia hugs Pied Piper and cries. The people of Far, Far Away and the citizens of Hamelin watches in shocked despair and in somber silence. But all of the sudden, Amelia's wish was granted and it came true, Pied Piper begins to thaw, the statues breaks and cracks, he came back alive! And Pied Piper embraces Amelia as the magic of an act of true love.
Coming this Fall to a social media art and literature platform near you!

Writing Patterns
Rules: List the first line of your last 10 (posted) fics and see if there’s a pattern!
Thanks for the fun tag, @perverse-idyll!
1. It’s a grim little thing, the Sorting Hat thinks as she walks up to the dais.
[Hag Tales, HP, Minerva/Amelia, Minerva/Alastor, Minerva/Wilhelmina. The reader's introduction to Miss Minerva McGonagall, as seen through a variety of lenses, including the Sorting Hat's. Yikes!]
2. The body remembers.
[De Aegypto, Minerva/Rolanda. The frame for a short piece about Minerva's musings on Rolanda and their complicated relationship.]
3. The first time Florean Fortescue met Severus Snape, he was mid-charm, putting the finishing touches on his latest creation.
[The Ice Cream Man and the Potions Master, Florean/Severus (pre-slash). A little scene-setting for an episodic piece in which Severus alternately confounds and charms Florean Fortescue.]
4. "Imperio."
[Rest with Your Dream in My Dream, Minerva/Severus. A line stolen from canon, as were many of the lines from this piece in which I attempt to add a little backstory to some of the key scenes in the HP books. This one from the scene where Minerva (needlessly) Imperios Amycus Carrow.]
5. Mind the gap between the train and the platform.
[Mind the Gap, Minerva/Severus. A somewhat contrived frame for this short piece about the ramifications of the age-gap between lovers Minerva and Severus. Also, I had recently returned from London.]
6. What the hell am I doing here?
[Within a Forest Dark, Minerva/Severus. A question I think Severus must have asked himself several times per day. A little tunnel into the main character's mind.]
7. The children filed into the classroom, quieter than they’d ever be again, Albus knew. The first-years were always a little awed by their first day at Hogwarts.
[One to Keep an Eye On, Albus, Minerva. Some scene-setting for a short piece about how Albus and Minerva first met.]
8. Thorfinn McGonagall sat in his study answering some of the many letters of condolence that continued to pour in two months after his wife’s death, when a shriek from somewhere on a floor above pulled him out of his chair.
[From Jupiter's Head, OC, Minerva, Albus. A somewhat ham-fisted attempt to provide a bit of (canon-divergent) backstory for Minerva, introducing both her father and her magical prowess.]
9. Anyone who’d spent any time at all at Number 12 Grimmauld Place in the past weeks would not have been surprised to see an identical pair of ginger heads creeping down a creaky staircase at ten minutes past one o’clock on a July morning.
[The Perils of Eavesdropping. Fred, George, Alastor/Minerva. Distanced narrative-setting for a short, (hopefully) humorous piece.]
10. If anyone had asked the Reverend Robert Fingal McGonagall ten years ago what he’d be doing on the third Saturday of Advent in the year of our Lord 1990, he might have laid even odds on “thumbing the harp wi’ the angels.”
[Sufficient Unto the Day, Robert McGonagall, Sr, Minerva/Severus. An introduction to the main character, Minerva's minister father.]
As far as patterns go, I'd say I tend to open with short, simple phrases, often internal dialogue splashed right up front without any context. Since my stories tend to be character-driven pieces (fanfic, ya know?), I like to get into my characters' heads ASAP. It's a little odd, given that my overall narrative style leans (too) heavily on complex compound sentences. Or, it seems, I sometimes go in the opposite direction, opening with a line that establishes a more distanced narrative, sort of a birdseye POV, if you will.

Soul on the Water: A Journey of Discovery, Redemption, and Resilience
Tumblr media
Stephen Green’s Soul on the Water is a masterful tapestry of human emotions, relationships, and the pursuit of personal growth. Through the lens of its protagonist, Alex, the novel explores themes of identity, adventure, and the redemptive power of self-discovery. Set against the breathtaking backdrops of England, the USA, Mallorca, and Germany, Green’s narrative offers readers a poignant exploration of life’s challenges and triumphs, interwoven with the unifying thread of rowing—an apt metaphor for resilience and harmony.
Rivers of Reflection: Relationships and Redemption
The relationships in Soul on the Water are as deep and flowing as the rivers Alex sculls upon. Whether it’s the budding romance between Alex and Amelia or the tender yet fraught connections within his family, the story unravels the complexities of human bonds. Each relationship is a microcosm of growth, conflict, and resolution, painting a vivid picture of how love, friendship, and family shape our identities.
Amidst these dynamics, Alex’s friendship with Hamish is a standout, their camaraderie forged through the shared pursuit of excellence in rowing. Their early morning routines on the Great River Ouse reflect their commitment not only to the sport but to the discipline it demands, a trait mirrored in their personal lives.
Adventure and Adaptation: A Global Journey
Alex’s journey takes readers across continents, offering glimpses of cultural richness and diversity. From the serene waters of England to the vibrant streets of Mallorca, the novel’s vivid settings serve as both a physical and emotional journey. These locales are not mere backdrops but integral to Alex’s growth as he navigates challenges in a world reshaped by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic’s subtle presence underscores themes of adaptability and change. Green skillfully captures the essence of human resilience, showcasing how characters like Alex and Amelia find solace and strength in their hobbies and relationships, even in the face of uncertainty.
Mental Health: A Quiet Undertow
Mental health is a poignant undercurrent throughout the narrative. Evie’s emotional collapse and Alex’s struggle with guilt are portrayed with sensitivity and depth, shedding light on the silent battles many face. Through these struggles, Soul on the Water emphasizes the importance of acknowledging and addressing mental health issues, portraying them as stepping stones rather than barriers on the path to fulfillment.
Rowing as a Metaphor: Synchrony and Strength
Rowing, a central motif in the story, is depicted with meticulous detail and reverence. It represents much more than a sport—it’s a metaphor for life’s rhythm, requiring balance, teamwork, and endurance. Alex’s sculling sessions with Hamish are not just physical exercises but moments of clarity and reflection, where the harmony of their movements mirrors the alignment of their goals and spirits.
The competitive nature of rowing adds an adventurous flair, as seen in the lively races against the Gormley brothers or the spirited exchanges with the women’s rowing team. These moments capture the thrill of challenge, the sting of defeat, and the determination to improve—elements that resonate deeply with the reader.
Moments of Solace: Finding Peace on the Water
Perhaps the most enchanting aspect of Soul on the Water is its portrayal of nature’s tranquil beauty. The descriptions of misty dawns, the gentle lapping of water, and the vibrant hues of sunrise are not just picturesque but deeply symbolic. These moments remind Alex—and the reader—of the serenity and clarity that nature offers, even amidst life’s chaos.
A Parallel Plot of Conflict and Desire
The narrative juxtaposes Alex’s journey with the subplot of Robert Hardson, a man caught in the web of personal desires and professional obligations. Robert’s clandestine relationship with his PA, Sophie, introduces themes of moral conflict and the consequences of choices made in secrecy. His story serves as a counterpoint to Alex’s journey, highlighting the divergent paths one can take when faced with life’s temptations and trials.
Why Soul on the Water Matters
Stephen Green’s novel is a celebration of the human spirit, illustrating how passion, perseverance, and introspection can lead to redemption and joy. It’s a story that invites readers to reflect on their own lives, urging them to find their rhythm, embrace change, and seek solace in the small but profound moments.
Soul on the Water is not just a tale of sculling; it’s a meditation on the ebb and flow of life, a reminder that while the currents may be unpredictable, the soul’s journey is one of discovery, resilience, and hope. Whether you’re a lover of adventure, a seeker of emotional depth, or simply someone searching for a beautifully told story, this book promises to be a transformative experience.

ok bestie hear me out😭.. little mix! reader and tom introducing tessa to baby amelia. literally the cutest thing ever omg
Sweet Tessa
pairing: Tom Holland x Little Mix!reader
summary: Two of Tom’s most important girls in the world finally meet each other.
warnings: none—I would say this is a few months after reader had Amelia, so the little bubba is a few months old!
a/n: I thought this was such an adorable idea!! Thank you for the request darling xx Probably not my best work, but I tried, enjoy!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“My goodness! Harry be careful!” Nikki scolded her son. Startled, Harry held Amelia up to his chest, eyes wide. A chuckle escaped your lips as you watched the younger Holland become an uncle.
“Jeez, Mum! I’m not gonna drop her, you should be worried about Paddy, not me.” Harry teased, not missing the opportunity to poke fun at his younger brother. Nikki moved to stand behind Harry, rolling her eyes at his teasing.
“She’s beautiful, I can’t believe I’m an actual grandma!” Nikki expressed, a large grin on her face, peeking over Harry’s shoulder to make funny faces at her granddaughter.
For the first time since you’ve had Amelia, you and Tom finally got the chance to visit his family. With COVID and all, you both wanted to make sure everyone was healthy and waited till restrictions loosened up a bit in the UK. During the first few weeks with Amelia, you and Tom learned how to become parents. From the early morning breast feedings to changing nappies almost every hour of the day—you and Tom were getting a hang of the whole parenting thing. You guys even had support from your friends and family near and far.
Robert (RDJ) had checked in a few times on both of you. Offering both you and Tom helpful advice that worked for him and his wife. He was even nice enough to send you all—as he called—a baby “starter kit”. Both your and Tom’s parents were always a phone call away, guiding you both through parenting with the best of their abilities. And most importantly, your band mates have been checking in on you almost 24/7. Obviously you were on maternity leave, but that didn’t stop them from missing you, so they called whenever you were free. The girls were very supportive of you, always reassuring you that if you need some extra hands or needed someone to babysit that you can call any of them any time. They even sent little homemade sweets for you and Tom to enjoy once in a while. Long story short, you were very thankful for the tremendous amount of help and support you and Tom had as first time parents.
It was a chilly Saturday when you and Tom decided to visit the Holland household. Everyone was inside, wearing comfy sweaters and socks on their feet to keep them warm from the winter’s cold air. You had been in the living room with Nikki, Harry, Sam, Paddy, and Dom. Everyone had been getting their fair share of Amelia while your husband was in his old bedroom catching up with his sweet Tessa.
Over the course of your pregnancy, Tessa had been glued to your side since day one. She walked wherever you were, sat beside you at all times, and made sure no one got too close to you—which included Tom. Basically, the Staffie was like your protector during the entirety of your pregnancy, that was until you had Amelia. Since both you and Tom knew you'd both be busy with Amelia, neither of you wanted Tessa to feel any neglect or loneliness. Plus, none of you knew how Tessa would react once Amelia arrived. Hence why sweet Tessa lived at Tom’s parents’ for a while.
After a couple months of being apart, Tom and Tessa were finally being reunited. Not only that, but today was also going to be the first time Tessa meets Amelia. Between the two of you, Tom was the most anxious to see how Tessa would react to Amelia. Tessa had always been Tom’s first “baby”, if his fur baby and real baby didn’t get along, he wouldn’t know what to do. All he wanted to do was bring Tessa home and have her live alongside you, him, and Amelia—just like the little vision he’s always had when he thinks about the future.
While Tom was still in his childhood bedroom, which was now Paddy’s, you lot were watching Harry, Sam, and Paddy try to entertain Amelia. Besides the new grandparents, the boys were probably the most excited to meet Amelia. It was wholesome and almost amusing to see them become so protective and gentle with their niece. Harry was the most eager, he was the first to ask to hold her, the most comfortable with carrying her, and bonded with her instantly. Sam, just as eager as Harry, was in shock majority of the time he held Amelia—you remembered as he held Amelia to his chest, eyes wide with joy—it was an adorable sight. Paddy was more reluctant in holding Amelia, he didn’t trust himself and the teasing from his brothers didn’t help the youngest Holland at all. Though with some guidance from you and his mum, Paddy became more comfortable with having Amelia sat on his lap. The three were now huddled in a circle, watching Amelia as she sat on Paddy’s lap, her small body leaning into him for support.
Nikki, who was sat beside you at the dining table, leaned closer to you, “Who knew it would take a baby to get them to be so quiet?” You chuckled, agreeing with her. Dom went with the joke, nudging your shoulder with his, “You three better come over more often, this is the quietest the house has been in months.”
“Oh, don’t worry, we’ll definitely be around. Maybe her and I more so than Tom since he’s gonna be leaving for the press tour soon.” You mentioned to them. A frown grew on Nikki’s lips. Placing a hand on your arm she reassured you, “You two are always welcome here, you know that. I know how scary being a first time mum can be, so if you need any help at all—with anything darling—we’ll be here for you.”
You couldn’t help but place your hand atop hers and squeezed it, “Thank you, I really needed that.” You told her, a small smile on your lips.
“Oh! You’re going to be just fine, darling! Don’t you worry.” She assured you. The moment was cut short when the sound of a door opening was heard in the hallway. The sound was followed by footsteps and the creaking of the wooden floors being stepped on. Tom appeared around the corner, stepping into the kitchen before eyeing you and his mother.
“Everything alright, love?” He asked, quickly making his way towards you. Tom moved to stand in front of you, his large hand coming to rest on your back. You look up at him and smile, “Yeah, just having a little mum to mum moment.”
“Ahh, got it.” He nodded.
“How’s Tess?” You asked him. Tom grinned, crouching down to his haunches and resting his arm on your thigh. “She’s doing good, affectionate and lovable as always. She misses you, she couldn’t stop sniffing at the door when I walked in.” You pouted, still having not seen Tessa.
Running a hand through his curl, you asked Tom, “You think it’s time to introduce her to Amelia?”
Tom’s attention was averted from his brothers and back to you, “Are you sure? We don’t have to if you’re not ready yet.”
“I’m sure. Plus, I miss having her around the house and I’m sure she wouldn’t mind having someone new to play with.” You answered him. Your approval was all it took for Tom to make his way back into the room and bring Tessa out with him.
Tom made sure to hold onto her collar as her eyes flickered to everyone in the room. When her dark brown eyes spotted you, she began to whine, tail wagging excitedly, while she tugged on Tom’s hold. You smiled widely at the dog, approaching her and Tom. Tessa jumped onto your knees, pawing at you, as your began to scratch her head with your hands.
“Hello Tessa! I miss you too, baby. How have you been, huh?” You began to ask her in your “baby” voice. You bent down to your knees, letting Tessa jump into your arms as she licked your face excitedly. Everyone laughed, watching Tessa jump around you as she eagerly sniffed you and nuzzled into your arms.
Tom chuckled, “I think she’s more excited to see you than me.”
Smirking up at him you respond, “I have that effect on people.”
Once you caught up with Tessa, it was time to introduce her to Amelia. Paddy got up from his place on the couch, offering it to you as he gently handed you Amelia. You sat in his spot, placing your daughter on your lap as she pleasantly gurgled.
“You had fun with your uncles didn’t you?” You coo at her as her tiny hands grasped your fingers. Tom watched you both adoringly from across the room—he always enjoyed watching his girls, it just made his heart swell with so much love and pride.
Seeing his daughter in a happy mood, he decided now would be a good time to introduce Tessa. If Amelia were cranky, the entire thing would probably be a bust.
Slowly, Tom led Tessa to approach you and Amelia. Everyone’s attention were on you four, the boys watched from beside you and Tom’s parents stood by the doorway of the living room.
When they got closer, the faster Tessa’s tail began to wag. She became a little impatient with Tom, tugging a bit as she crept closer to you and the new human you were holding.
“Tessa.” Tom softly warned her. When he was finally in front of you, he sat in front of you and placed Tessa in between his legs. The dog peeked over your knees, her nose twitching as she sniffed Amelia’s socked feet.
“Gentle, Tessa.” Tom reminded her, petting her back. His other hand was wrapped around her front. Tessa moved closer to you, sniffing your finger as you scratched under her chin. Moving past your fingers, Tessa nuzzled her nose against the bottoms of Amelia’s feet. Curious at the mysterious creature before her, Amelia made a noise, leaning forward to look at Tessa.
“Who is that, Lia?” You whispered enthusiastically to your daughter. Tessa’s ears perked up when she spotted Amelia’s small hand moving towards her. Tom held in his breath—of course, he trusted Tessa—but the closer his daughter’s hand got closer to Tessa’s face he couldn’t help but feel nervous.
Tessa’s tail wagged faster, though she kept her calm, and rested her chin on your knees. Amelia’s hand landed on Tess’s snout, her fingers wiggling to feel the new texture of Tessa’s fur. A squeal emitted from her tiny body, taking both you and Tom by surprise. You peer down to look at her face and saw a gummy smile on her features.
“D’ya like Tessa bubba?” You ask her, your words mixed with laughter as you watch her rub at Tessa’s head. Tessa didn’t seem to mind, she leaned into Amelia’s touch and her tail’s wag never faltered.
“Look Tess, it’s your little sister, Amelia.” Tom quietly said to the dog. The goofy grin on his face showed just how happy he was to see that Amelia and Tessa’s first interaction was a success.
Tessa sniffed at Amelia’s hand causing your baby to squeal as she came into contact with Tessa’s cold and wet nose.
“Does that feel funny, Lia?” Tom teased his daughter, poking one of her chubby cheeks. She let out something that sounded similar to a giggle, making you all laugh.
“This is Tessa, she’s gonna be there to protect you and keep you safe, she’ll even play with you once you’re old enough.” Tom explained to his daughter, the smile feeling permanent on his lips. Tessa tilted her head, gently licking Amelia’s palm. Another squeal left your daughter’s body, sending the room into a round of laughter again.
“I think they’re gonna be best friends.” You comment, watching as Amelia happily felt around Tessa’s face. Tessa was content, finally reuniting with her family and meeting the little human you’ve been growing in your body for months.
From the moment they met, the two became inseparable. During the rest of the night, Tessa trailed after anyone who was holding Amelia. Wherever Amelia was, Tessa was also there keeping a watchful eye on her. Safe to say, the two were very fond of each other—and for the first time in months, Tessa was finally going home.

Biography:
Esme was born September 18th, 1988 in Snowmass, Colorado, USA. The final child and only girl.  In the first fic of the series, she was 29.  In the current fic which takes place thirteen years since Dhaka, she is almost 42.   She attended Arizona State University and has a graduate degree in psychology and an undergrad in International and Foreign Affairs.  She speaks English,  French, Spanish, and some Russian, Pashto, and Dari.   She served in the United States Marine Corps where she initially specialised in weapons and ammunition before being recruited for Intel.  She served overseas in both Afghanistan (centred in Kabul) and Iraq and helped both United States military and others around the world apprehend those suspected of terrorism.
After her first marriage (to a military superior and man 16 years her senior), she briefly worked in New York City and within the same circle as John Wick and although a contracted employee, under the supervision of the High Table.  While living in Brooklyn, New York, she introduced John Wick to his future wife Helen, after the two women became close while frequenting the same cafe.  Two years later, Esme was giving a ‘discharge’ by the High Table; her record wiped clean and enabling her to go and work with other individuals.  Her first cousin was the wife of G (played by Sam Hargrave in Extraction), and it was G that introduced her to Nik Khan.  Esme was employed by Nik as an intel specialist in the fall of 2018.
In June 2019, she met Tyler Rake.  Through an altered storyline, Nik brought Esme and Tyler together to work a job in Dhaka, Bangladesh.  Esme was entrusted to find the whereabouts of Ovi Mahajan Junior and Tyler was to protect her and then extract Ovi. They worked under the ruse as a newly married couple doing humanitarian work.  Their covers were blown five days after arriving, and the events of the movie took place.
She left behind her life in Colorado for one with Tyler (after saving him on the Sultana Kamal Bridge) in Australia, and found out shortly after he was transferred to a hospital back home that she was pregnant with his child.  They would move into an apartment outside of Sydney, and seven months later she would give birth to their first child, a daughter named Amelia.   A threat against them from remaining members of Amir Asif’s would force them to leave Australia, and they would receive guardianship of Ovi and move to Colorado.  Despite the birth of twin boys, Tyler James Rake Junior and Tanner William Rake, and third son, Declan Robert Rake, the move would prove disastrous, as a previously retired Tyler would return to both drinking and pain meds and mercenary life.   Following a stressful job in Ireland involving the IRA,  Tyler would subsequently fall victim to PTSD and other mental health issues and once more leave the ‘job’.    He would move his family back to Australia and to o Cooktown, Queensland;  a beach front home with acres of property that would ensure their privacy.
Tyler would return to mercenary life shortly following the birth of their second daughter, Adeline; tracked down by Saju’s brother Anil after learning Saju’s widow and son were taken hostage by Ovi Mahajan Senior’s people.  Tyler and Esme would also start their own mercenary business, with Esme serving as a silent and seldom seen part owner. After nearly losing his life (and left with life altering injuries), Tyler would spent nearly three years away from active mercenary work; a long and arduous healing process that would be brightened by the birth of a second set of twins:  Brooklyn Kaia and Takota Koen.
Now thirteen years since Dhaka, the business is thriving and Tyler rarely goes out into the field.  No longer getting his hands ‘dirty’, he stays behind the scenes unless it is desperately needed.   Esme continues to be a silent owner and devotes her time and attention to her book store and her life as a wife and mother.

StackedNatural Day 87: 8x10, 15x09
StackedNatural Masterpost: [x]
January 16, 2022
8x10: Torn and Frayed
Written by: Jenny Klein
Directed by: Robert Singer
Original air date: January 16, 2013
Plot Synopsis:
Dean and Castiel try to rescue Samandriel from Crowley. Sam tries to decide whether or not he should continue hunting or be with Amelia.
Features:
Samandriel is tortured by Crowley, angels can be lobotomized and limited, Cas’ hobbies include healing babies in parks, Angels are still weird eldritch beings, burning bushes, Destiel team up, Angel operating systems,
My Thoughts:
In everything except the Amelia plot line (as always, why wasn’t she some kind of siren or other creature? Why are all her flashback scenes so fuzzy if there wasn’t unreliable memory shit going on?) this episode kicks total ass. We have Destiel investigation team up, we have Naomi, we have the blood coming out of the eye, we have the actor playing Samandriel doing an amazing job, we have Crowley when the show still gave him a sense of style and intrigue, we have the angel tablet revelation, we have angels as celestial computers with code that can be hacked. It’s a gift of an episode.
I’m going to very quickly talk about the things I don’t like so I can talk about the things that I do like. This is the same for the entire season, but Sam’s heel turn on all monsters being evil makes absolutely no sense for his characterization up to this point. After all, he sees himself as a monster pretty often, and he tries to do the most good that he can. I wish there had been some big event right after Dean went into purgatory. If Sam had slipped, started drinking demon blood again, and saw himself as a monster, his insistence that something monstrous can’t be good would be a lot more effective than it is when he’s just been hanging out with a random lady all year. Also, Jared can’t act and neither can the actress playing Amelia.
The angel lobotomy plotline is one that is actually really well paced and seeded compared to plotlines like this in other seasons. Compared to leviathans, which were introduced and became the season big bad over the course of 2 episodes (being introduced at the end of one and becoming season big bads at the start of the next), Naomi is introduced 3 episodes before it becomes clear the extent to which she is going to influence the rest of the season. We learn that angels can basically be hacked into revealing the secrets of their creation through someone else before it’s revealed that this has happened to Cas at least once before. And the cuts back and forth between her room and Earth are so smooth and fit together really well. Also, I love the halo imagery with Samandriel’s lobotomy. Very visually satisfying.
Season 8 was AMAZING for extremely effective queerbait. I always wonder what would have happened after/during Goodbye Stranger if it had actually been the last season.
Notable Lines:
“That’s his serious face, yes.”
“Hey, what do you say, this doesn't pan out, we head back to that beer-and-bacon happy hour about a mile back, huh?”
“I can't enjoy a world I need to save, Dean.”
“Listen to me closely. I've been there. I know! They're controlling us, Castiel!”
Laura’s (completely subjective) Episode Rating: 9.0
IMdB Rating: 8.2
15x09: The Trap
Written by: Robert Berens
Directed by: Robert Singer
Original air date: January 16, 2020
Plot Synopsis:
Sam and Eileen are faced with the brutal truth. Meanwhile Dean and Cass work together in the hopes of getting a step ahead of Chuck.
Features:
Captive in a casino, purgatory and leviathan blossoms, visions of the future, the peak of divorce arc, the drafts are memories, Sam loses hope, Jack is BACK baby.
My Thoughts:
The scenes with Sam and Eileen hit so much harder than the scenes with Sam and Amelia that it’s actually a little embarrassing. This is how you write a romantic subplot! She has to have some substance to matter to him!
That being said, I wish the scalpel scenes were gorier. Sam saying he’s going to bleed out while he’s got, like 3 tablespoons of blood on his shirt doesn’t really work.
When I first got back into Supernatural I thought people were exaggerating when they called it a divorce arc but these lines are so based around romantic relationships in North American media. “I left but you didn’t stop me”? Come on. And then it’s compounded by Sam seeing Chuck’s future. Dean’s turning point from caring about the world is explicitly him having to bury Cas in a Ma'lak box because of the mark, which is then compared to Sam losing Eileen. The parallels can’t really get any clearer than that.
An interesting thing about the future visions is that they have the same lens flares on lights that heaven had in Dark Side of the Moon in season 5. Not sure exactly how to parse that but I’m sure someone has a very compelling theory that I’d love to read.
The purgatory prayer gets me as hard if not harder than the confession. I don’t think I’ll be saying anything that hasn’t already been said, but he closes his eyes and makes himself vulnerable in a world where literally everything wants to kill him so that he can pray to Cas and apologize, because that is the number one priority for him in this moment. I like to think that he got down on his knees because he thinks that this will be the last time that he ever prays and he’s going to do it right. And then he doesn’t even go down on both knees, he goes on one like it’s a proposal. Insane acting choice from thee vessel Jensen Ackles. And then another insane choice to look disappointed when Cas stops him from saying whatever he was going to say before they go through the portal. Because if he was going to apologize again, he already knows that Cas heard it, you’d think he would be relieved. He was going to say something new.
There’s also something super romantic about Cas barely getting away from these eldritch horrors that are chasing him, and sitting down and waiting for Dean instead of going through the portal and waiting for him in safety.
Thank you Robert Berens for my life.
Notable Lines:
“It’s not my first time on the rack.”
“You still think you’re the hero of this story. You still think you can win.”
“You didn't give me a choice. You couldn't forgive me. And you couldn't move on. You were too angry. I left, but you didn't stop me.”
“Ever since what? We lost pretty much everyone we've ever cared about? Ever since the Mark made Cas go crazy? Ever since I had to bury him in a Ma'lak box? Ever since then? Yeah.”
“Cas, I hope you can hear me... that wherever you are, it's not too late. I should've stopped you. You're my best friend, but I just let you go. 'Cause it was easier than admitting I was wrong. I don't know why I get so angry. I just know – I know that it's – it's just always been there. And when things go bad, it just – it comes out. And I can't -- I can't stop it. No matter how – how bad I want to, I just can't stop it. And – And I – I forgive you. Of course I forgive you. I'm sorry it took me so long – I'm sorry it took me till now to say it. Cas, I'm – I'm so sorry. Man, I hope you can hear me. I hope you can hear me.”
“Okay, Cas, I need to say something.” “You don't have to say it. I heard your prayer.”
Laura’s (completely subjective) Episode Rating: 9.9 (because the vampire fangs are egregious)
IMdB Rating: 8.6
In Conclusion: Two Singer episodes in a row, play a drinking game where you drink every time you see a weird zoom.

2021 Emmerdale Wishlist
(I was inspired by @softlass27 and wanted to do one of my own)
Some Overall Things
- More community involvement. I know, I know Covid, but hopefully they’ll be able to ease the restrictions before the year is out so it still applies. And aside from that, they need to work within the restrictions to do better. I still thought that clothing exchange in the cafe was a really good attempt to allow different characters to mix.
- In general, they need to really figure out how to work within the covid restrictions better because it has been very noticeable at times and the whole show has felt like it’s been a slower pace, including individual scenes and it’s a problem.
- More appropriate story lengths. I’m tired of these never ending stories that just meander along.
- Better story structure. Stories seem to either magic into being or they’re so slow to start you wonder if there is a story. I just want stories to have proper lead ins and build up and actual climaxes that feel worthwhile. And I want to understand the point of a story both as it’s going and for sure once it has finished. I don’t want to have to keep asking the question, “Is it going somewhere or is this just bad writing”.
- Work on relationship stories. Stop putting terribly suited people together. At least try and build relationships up naturally and allow them to have some time before just shoving them together. Stop having other characters talk about how people should be together. I want to see the actual couple together and understand why. If a couple isn’t working, actually break them up. Cheating stories can work but make them happen for an actual reason and not just cause you feel like drama.
- In general, work on motivations for characters because so many people this year have just done things for little to no real reason.
Character Focused things
- I too am willing to wait till the 50th Anniversary for Robert’s triumphant return. Enjoy that dad and son time Ryan, your time will come. Hopefully post pandemic restrictions and when there’s a new decent producer who has some robron nostalgia.
- In the meantime, I would like the show to allow Aaron to become a real character again. While, I’ve very much been fine with his massive break this year because it’s given me time to process him not having a tall blond glued to his side, I would like it if he got a bit more screen time next year. And I would like for that screen time to include interactions with characters that are not Liv and Chaddy. I’d love to see him get a friend, whether that’s Mack or someone else, I just want him to have someone else to talk to. I would also like to see him have an actual story even if he is a supporting character, but make him a consistent one, not support to the support and not just a cameo for an episode or two. I’d love to see him have more to do than a relationship story but if he must, for the the love of god at least put some amount of effort into it. Or just let him go on random bad dates that he gets to talk to his new friend about how no one is right.
- I want Chaddy to break up. Whether it’s actually a cheating story or they just realize how unsuited they are for each other after all, I don’t care. Let the Christmas wedding curse persist. (In lieu of that, I want them on screen as little as possible together and if they are they better not be having any problems or be overly sappy and if I hear more than one or two “Graaacieees” I’m out)
- As for Liv, either Isobel can get a big break with her music and Liv can take a never ending trip to Dublin or they need to do better. If she stays, I want to see her become an adult. I want to see her make some choices about her future, get a job etc. I’d still like them to explore what a relationship means to her without having it be a plot point in the next abuser’s story. That still means something to me and I’d like to see it on screen for real and not just in the background.
- For the love of god give Matty a story. Let him date, let him and Amy finally get together but like...do it better this time. Let him move out of Moira’s and stop being a footnote in her stories. Let him get promoted at the HOP or get a new job. Go back to his transition story. Let him interact with his friends more. Just almost anything really.
- With Charity, we all know Vanessa will be back eventually and they’ll put them back together, so in the meantime, I’d like to them to start figuring out a balance for her. I agree somewhat that the regressive behavior she’s engaging in now feels a little ridiculous but that’s mostly because it’s baseless. They need to find real reasons and motivations for her to have her scheming fun the way they did with Robert and Cain. So first things first, I would get her the hell out of the pub because that was always a bad idea. I want her back in a business that allows her to wheel and deal and scheme without it always having to be random criminal activity. I also NEED them to allow her to say she’s bisexual on screen and to own that and to stop having writers put in those stupid unnecessary biphobic jokes. And they need to allow her to realize that she’s okay on her own and that any growth she had wasn’t only down to Vanessa.
- For Cain and Moira, I want them to actually stay together this time and not immediately get broken up by something absurd. They can be tested, but only so they can prove that they are really working on their issues.
- I’d like Laurel and Jai to get through their grief and stay together.
- I want Jamie to get a fucking back bone and break free of Andrea altogether and break free of Kim too. I’d be cool with him and Mack actually being friends. I’d like him to get a real love interest too.
- For Mack, I want him to keep being the snarky, fun breath of fresh air he has been but I’d like to ground him a little bit too. I want him to find something real in the village, whether that’s a friend or a love interest. Jamie and Aaron are good friend options for him. Just someone to give him a real solid tie to the village and give him some to talk to/confide in. If they wanted to make him bi, I would not be opposed. I’d also like him to make some progress with Moira in the next year so that doesn’t remain stagnant.
- For Kim, I want this stupid story with Cain to already be over because it’s based on nothing. I know she’s supposed to get a love interest and I’m already dreading it. I do want her to get a love interest but I want it to feel real with real feelings and not come out of nowhere like I expect it to. I think Kim needs real connections in general. That brief period where she was friends with Rhona was good. They should give her another friend. Just. something to make her feel less like a cartoon villain even if she still is an antagonist.
- I want someone to run over Luke and Wendy. I want them the hell out of Vic’s life and the hell out of the village. I still can’t fathom why they ever introduced them or had them stick around.
- I need Harriet and Will to go away. They’re useless and they’ve overstayed their welcome at this point. I want to free Dawn because I feel like she could be a decent character if she wasn’t shackled to them. If the Malone story FINALLY ends with Harriet and Will both leaving, that would be a miracle.
- I want Dan and Amelia to move to Croydon so someone else can have their house. They’re just not relevant characters anymore.
- I want the new vicar and his son to be good characters and for more of their family to come in, hopefully female family members so there can be more women of color on the show too. But also I just want them to all be good characters with good connections and good stories.
- If Marlon and Rhona are going to get together again, I want them to actually work out as a couple because I’ve quite enjoyed their friendship over the years and I think they could work as a couple again if they just maintain what they’ve had and don’t ruin it.
- I’d like this whole stupid Al story to blow up in his face quick so we can move the hell on. If Al’s going to stick around, I need him to do something interesting. Either ground him more and give him better relationships or have him go full villain.
- For Gabby, I want to see her continue to grow and get more adult stories, once that don’t include her meddling in people’s relationships. I’d like to see them explore a relationship story with her too. If she wants to realize she’s bi or something too and that she and Liv are meant to be, I’d be fine with that too.
- More Jimmy and Nicola but don’t use that screen time to destroy them.
- For Meena, I’d like them to tone her down just a bit and resolve the weird petty stuff between her and Manpreet. I’m cool with them exploring her and David but I don’t want it to feel as rushed or haphazard.
- For Amy, I kind of want Tracy to just blow the whole Frank thing just so she can deal with the consequences and move on. Or just have her tell Matty as they’re getting closer and have him be like “eh my mum killed Emma so this is fine” and then it brings them closer. I just want it out there so it’s not hanging over her head anymore. I also just want her on screen more and with Matty and being friends with Vic.
- For Vic, other than being free of the Posners, I’d just like her to reclaim her life a bit more, maybe see her at the HIDE more, maybe catering more, maybe a better love interest.
- I’d like to see Billy get something decent too that’s not just another lame attempt at brothers at war with Ellis. Let him find a career he likes, make a new friend, finally make peace with Aaron, something.
- Ellis can move to Dubai.
- Sam and Lydia just need to keep being their perfect selves. Give them some fun little stories.
- The Mandy/Paul/Vinny saga needs to END now. There’s just no reason Vinny should be keeping all of this quiet. It’s dumb. Paul needs to go. Mandy needs to steal Paddy away from Chas or something. Vinny needs to hang out with Sam and Lydia and Samson again and maybe find a better career than whatever scrap jobs Aaron can throw his way.
- Belle needs to go back to maybe being a vet and maybe date someone that’s not an affair?!
- Leyla and Liam need to just stay together or break up for good.
- Rishi needs to stop being treated like a child.
- Tracy needs to just have this baby so we don’t have to hear about how she’s pregnant anymore (though I have enjoyed the reprieve lately) Are we sure Nate can’t go to prison after all?

Rainy day gyroids
Rainy days are the perfect excuse to stay inside with a cup of warm tea and a good show to watch while letting the day pass on by. How fitting is it that the theme of this gyroid event happens to be rainy days?
Joining us on this rainy day adventure are Robert and Mace, two former members of Jamie's entourage back when she lived on Peace Coast Island. Robert Azarias is a writer and actor, best known for his work in the TV show Faerie Town, which just ended earlier this year. Mace Callaghan is an actor whose career kicked off thanks to people like Jamie and his cousin Amelia, who's also an actor as well as a producer. Both have been super busy as they're on a new show that's set to premiere in the fall so they're at the camp for a short vacation after pretty much working nonstop for the past several weeks.
The new show is called Mount Barley, RFD - which stands for rural free delivery - and it's about a journalist who moves back to his old hometown to take care of his aging father and reconnects with his old friends. Mace plays the main character, Alex, an ambitious creative who has a tendency to get carried away with his ideas. Robert's the co-executive producer/showrunner and has a recurring role as Jerry, a friend and colleague of Alex's who sometimes gets dragged into everyone else's problems due to bad timing. Other characters include Alex's dad Emmett, the wise father figure everyone looks up to, Blossom the pharmacist who's a neighbor to Alex, Leia, a childhood friend and work colleague, and Deedee, the hairstylist who serves as Alex's source for gossip.
Having insider information is kinda a blessing and a curse. Well, what I mean by curse is that I can't say too much about something because of non-disclosure stuff, which means I have to be careful not to let anything slip. Especially with a lot of show creators, writers, and actors being active on social media, it's kinda easy to accidentally reveal something that wasn't supposed to publicly come out yet. It's not usually anything super confidential but some companies are more particular about what people say more than others. While being able to interact with crew members has its perks, it also has its drawbacks - then again, that's social media in general.
Robert's previous show, Faerie Town, ended last year after five seasons. A good number of the entourage members were in that show like April Wingate, Melody Muto, Linus Cooper, and Cecelia Argent. Robert was a writer on the show as well as a recurring character who became more prominent from season three onwards.
Ending the show was one of those cases where they were told ahead of time that they weren't going to get renewed. By then, the overall story they wanted to tell was coming to a conclusion so it made sense to start wrapping things up. Being an ensemble show, it kinda suffered from a large cast - I'm overall satisfied with the way the main characters were handled but at the same time I felt that it could've been balanced better. And I'll admit, the writing during the last two seasons were weak, but not to the point where the show went downhill.
The way I see it, there's a difference between a show going downhill and a show where the writing isn't as top notch. Downhill is bad, as in this has a negative impact on how I feel about the show in general. An example of downhill is Popular Besties, which, looking back wasn't entirely good, but I enjoyed it as a kid. It was one of those shows which the quality dipped a lot - and knowing the issues going on behind the scenes, it makes a lot of sense as to why - and it gets to the point where you're watching a new episode out of obligation or dropping it all together.
Hogan Family Values is an example of a show that has fallen to weak writing. Like Faerie Town, it has a big cast, though it struggles more in terms of having too many characters to handle. It's ending after three seasons, which has ten episodes left. Season three started out pretty strong, but since then it has been a mixed bag. We all kinda suspected that it was ending as some of the episodes kinda had that vibe and that was later confirmed by the creator just recently.
I think the biggest problem with this season is that the pacing's kinda rushed and I feel like the show has kinda written itself into a corner by trying to wrap up various plotlines while introducing a bunch of new characters/plot points at the same time. On one hand the show could use another season just to pad things out a bit, but at the same time it makes sense why they would end it there.
The show's still good though, it's just season three doesn't have the same spark as the first two did. I mean, the stronger episodes of this season are some of the best in the show overall while the weaker ones aren't entirely terrible, just mediocre, or at worst, somewhat boring. And despite my reservations at the moment, I have faith in the crew that the ending will be satisfying, even if rushed.
A show with a satisfying ending is Star's Universe, which has become one of my top favorite shows of all time. I think, if it wasn't for the network, the show could've easily run for another season to even out the pacing towards the end. It also suffered from the uncertainty of being renewed, which then led to a movie. While working on the movie, the network decided to order an additional season at the last minute to fully wrap things up. There's still a lot the show can touch on but it's all extra stuff - and while it could've focused more on the supporting cast, I can understand why they couldn't because it's essentially not their story.
As for the overall story the show wanted to tell, they not only succeeded, but exceeded my expectations. The conclusion's satisfying in a way that it's open enough to revisit but if that's the end, then I'm happy with that as well.
I think Star's Universe has ruined me in terms of judging series endings. It still kinda doesn't feel real that the show literally just ended less than a year ago. The writing has also remained consistently strong for the most part and it's just a brilliant show. Now I feel like binging on a bunch of episodes. I guess you can say it's one of my comfort shows.
While collecting gyroids, we got to talking about Mount Barley, RFD a bit as well as catch up on life in general. Robert's got an interesting backstory that Hollywood has been wanting to make into a movie for years. He was known as the Etienne Falls Baby as he was born en route on the ill fated train that crashed in the desert. His father died in the accident while his mother passed away shortly after, leaving Robert in the care of three friends who helped bring him into the world. Only one of them survived and he, while carrying Robert, made a dangerous trek through the desert to find help. After the tragic ordeal, he adopted Robert, becoming somewhat known as a hero.
Mace is the nephew of actor Gary Stewart, who's well known on stage and screen, as well as his daughters Amelia and Lesley. It was Amelia who helped Mace pursue his dream of acting by helping him stand up to his father, who was against it. At the time he was going through a lot and as a result of everything, he finally had enough. It wasn't easy going against his father's wishes, but he had to or else he'd be stuck working at the bank being his father's successor.
He's still hoping for a reconciliation, though it seems unlikely at the moment. Since moving to the island, Mace rarely spoke to his father, who has pretty much disowned him. Back home he heard that his father's not too crazy about Mace having his own show as that'll make him more well known. At least his cousins and uncle have always been supportive of him - he had always been closer to them, especially after his mom passed.
It's been raining all day, though it started out as a light drizzle at first. I don't mind the rain too much - it adds to the rainy day theme! I love how gray and cloudy the sky gets - there's just something about rain that's calming and cozy. Also, it was the perfect excuse to break out my new umbrella - and it was worth every leaf ticket because not only it looks pretty, it kept me dry. Aside from the mud, collecting gyroids in the rain was a lot of fun!
When it started pouring we headed back to the cabin to begin crafting some stuff. I was surprised that we managed to collect a lot of gyroids today, then again, I think the rain might've helped some. We also managed to do some fishing and bug catching as well, which the guys had never done before. Robert's a fast learner when it comes to fishing - and a lucky one too as he managed to catch two king salmons!
Aside from collecting gyroids, we didn't get to be able to do too much sightseeing today. Once the weather clears up, I'm thinking of setting up a picnic in the meadow and a short hike along the trail. Then, depending on Gulliver's schedule, I was hoping we can catch a ride with him and explore an island or two. Robert mentioned that he always wanted to try out sailing so I want him to experience that. As for Mace, he says he's content with anything the camp has in store and he enjoys running errands for the campers.
With the rain pouring, we all were in the mood for some tea so I put on the kettle as soon as we got inside. While waiting for the tea we set up the TV to watch some shows while helping Daisy Jane package orders from her shop. Nothing like cozying up with a nice hot cup of tea on a cloudy rainy day!

i’ll set the fires of hell upon them myself: a comprehensive timeline of an alternate universe in which lady c.omstock raises elizabeth in comstock house and joins booker de.witt when he comes to columbia in an effort to save her daughter.
welcome to yet another timeline post by tumblr user sanctamater. this one is perhaps the peak alternate reality.
1892: amelia is indoctrinated into the cult and is courted by zachary. she introduces him to senators, congressmen, governors, and other cogs in machine politics as her intended, giving him access to resources he lacks; enabling him to indoctrinate some politicians into the cult and secure funding for rosalind, who is able to now communicate with robert and eventually create the lutece machine. zachary then uses this for his prophecies.
1893: amelia and zachary marry in january. columbia is now well under construction and set to launch at the world’s exhibition fair in may of that year. zachary tells amelia that she is to bear their messiah. use of the lutece machine to peer into alternate realties has rendered zachary sterile. outwardly, he blames amelia for their inability to produce a child, and seeks the help of lutece. at first, she refuses; but at the prospect of being united with her other self robert, she accepts, and agrees to have robert procure anna dewitt. offering to wash booker of his debts in exchange for the girl, booker accepts; only to regret it at the last minute. in the struggle between booker and zachary, anna loses her pinkie finger as the door between universes closes. on october 8th, 1893, anna is brought to columbia, and renamed elizabeth at zachary’s behest. elizabeth is brought to amelia, and zachary claims the child is cut from the holy cloth. amelia, obviously, does not buy it; and noting that zachary spends unorthadox amounts of time with chief scientist rosalind lutece, accuses him of having an affair with her, and that elizabeth is the product of that union. rosalind tells amelia the truth of elizabeth’s birth. it’s not clear in the canon voxophone rosalind leaves behind, but - “Lady Comstock seems to believe the child is a result of some errant act of carnality between myself and her beloved Prophet. I told the poor woman the truth: that the child was a product of our little contraption. But I think she found that less believable than her delusion.” rosalind, in my canon, was very clear in the fact that elizabeth is amelia’s daughter.  in many worlds, amelia rejects this, and claims that rosalind is still lying to her. in others, she does see the truth for what it is; and chooses to raise elizabeth as her own in an attempt to protect her only child from the prophet’s designs.
1894: with elizabeth’s arrival, tears begin to appear in columbia as her powers manifest. with exposure to tears comes consequences: columbia, by the time the game takes place, has fertility issues and high cancer rates for those who have been exposed to tears. zachary begins to make plans to monitor, control, and suppress this power while amelia is left to raise the child.
1897: comstock house centre opens. comstock house is a research and “rehabilitation” centre that focuses on ridding man of sin, which columbia considers to be a symptom of illness. what goes on in comstock house is likely very intentionally left vague by canon sources; but “heretics” who are caught are subjected to forced lobotomies and mental conditioning in order to make them exemplary members of columbian society. comstock house now contains zachary, amelia, the lamb, their servants, and the doctors and their medical staff that work below. in addition to comstock house opening, zachary installs a large siphon in comstock house meant to stabilise and drain elizabeth of her power. from an early age, elizabeth is cautioned by amelia to use her power sparingly, if at all; and that she will get in trouble with her father if she is caught opening tears.
1901: the boxer rebellion occurs and columbia displays its considerable military power in an attack against beijing. after being ordered to return to the usa to answer for its unsanctioned attack, columbia simply ascends into the clouds and proclaims sovereignty. elizabeth and amelia are now rarely allowed outside of comstock house unless it is a state holiday or larger religious occasion in which parading the holy mother and messiah around would be beneficial for the prophet’s image. amelia attempts to be content with the situation, though wishes elizabeth were allowed playmates. elizabeth grows restless. the luteces are enlisted to help educate elizabeth in tandem with her mother.
1907: elizabeth’s powers continue to manifest and comstock house becomes dangerous due to electrical blowouts and the mysterious, accidental deaths of several servants, administrative workers, low level politicians, lawmakers, and guards. zachary’s response is to section elizabeth off to the wing of comstock house that lady comstock occupies and keep her there with amelia and a larger siphon. elizabeth becomes resentful of this situation, though amelia knows her hands are tied in the matter.
1909: daisy fitzroy, now leader of the vox populi, is captured and brought to comstock house. amelia attempts to see her, but is denied. she is interviewed by dr. pinchot, who is fascinated by her. fitzroy later escapes and kills several doctors in the process.  rosalind and robert lutece come to an ultimatum to send elizabeth back to the world she came from, in order to prevent the razing of the united states in the future. zachary sabotages their machine to explode and kill them “accidentally”. the funeral is a quiet one.  elizabeth is distraught at the loss of her tutors, and amelia comes to the revelation that the only way either of them can be happy and the only way elizabeth can be safe is if she is far away from zachary, and out of the city.
pre timeline ends here. game events reconstructed/rewritten are below.
booker dewitt comes to columbia on succession day; one of the only times that the lady comstock and the lamb are allowed outside of comstock house and are able to be seen by the public. it is one of elizabeth’s favourite days for this reason, and amelia will spoil her with treats until it is time to return home to comstock house. sheltered, shy, and wanting for nothing; elizabeth is still a rebellious teenager who has much bigger plans than becoming the prophet’s heir.
in the chaos of the raffle, elizabeth and amelia are hustled on to an airship to be delivered safely back to comstock house. booker, however, boards the ship and takes out their guards. booker’s only task is to deliver elizabeth to new york city, not her mother - and much to his surprise, the sainted lady grabs a gun from a fallen guard and aims it at booker without hesitation. in a stand off, amelia says if he is to take elizabeth out of the city, then that she must come with her daughter as well. booker agrees. songbird attempts to disable the airship and the three fall into battleship bay.
travelling with the lady comstock and messiah is not easy. amelia is easily recognizable even in a dishevelled state and both must take precautions not to be seen - either by wrapping their hair up or obscuring their faces - or else the guards will be called. stealth is now initiated in passive levels. it is known throughout the city that the lady comstock and messiah are missing, and that the prophet Fears The Worst for his Beloved(TM) and child.
amelia, while rusty, is handy with some small guns like pistols and handcanons, given her upbringing and the leisurely hours spent at shooting ranges and hunts (which were a sport of the american elite). she’s a sharp shooter who does not hesitate when her daughter is involved, and despite the violence surrounding them, wishes to protect her from witnessing it.
amelia gives elizabeth permission to use tears to aid the party in its travels as it is revealed how useful this power would be.
the hall of heroes goes about the same; though the first lady’s memorial is now an exhibit on the holy couple’s endeavours against the vox populi. by the end of the hall of heroes/battleship bay, the pa system now treats lady comstock as an enemy of the state as well; and states that elizabeth has been kidnapped by the treacherous first lady and the maniacal false shepherd. zachary expresses his disappointment over the pa in soldier’s field, to which amelia tells him to ‘choke on his sermon’.
liz knocking out booker with a wrench scares the shit out of amelia and only strengthens her resolve that elizabeth needs to leave. with booker incapacitated and neither no longer trusting him after the whole new york v paris debacle, the two set off on their own and are captured and await for the arrival of the prophet’s men to escort them both back to comstock house.
the rest of the level progresses as normal with the reunion in shanty town, aside from yet another deviation -
elizabeth is forced to kill a founder soldier who disarms amelia and goes to shoot her. she is traumatised by this action and inconsolable.
once again, daisy does not die. amelia is able to talk with daisy given their former friendship years ago and agrees that the three of them will join the vox in order to take down the prophet and leave columbia in good hands, as amelia makes it plain they simply want to leave the city; and that amelia has no intentions of her daughter staying to rule the city. daisy agrees.
amelia helps elizabeth to cut her hair and step into her old relics (her dress) within the airship. the airship is knocked out of the sky and crashes in emporia, which is in the middle of evacuating.
instead of fighting the siren, as amelia does not die in this world, the three go to uncover truths that the prophet has long since buried.
in the lutece’s laboratories, it is revealed that elizabeth was brought to columbia via tear; something amelia tearfully professes and apologizes for; saying that she will always be her daughter; in this world or the next.
in the bank, after elizabeth opens a tear that reveals that in many worlds, amelia has been murdered, amelia’s nose begins to bleed. ‘the prophet... killed me?’ ‘mother, your nose is bleeding.’
with comstock house’s gate now firmly closed to them both, booker and amelia devise a plan to blow the gate in to gain access. it works. they continue on, but the songbird takes both amelia and elizabeth to comstock house.
elizabeth begs the prophet not to hurt her mother, and says she will be his daughter so long as he does not harm her. amelia is placed in comstock house asylum, and elizabeth is tortured by the prophet as he makes ready to install the leash.
booker is brought through to 1913 from the prophet elizabeth timeline, and rescues amelia from the asylums first before the two make their way into the depths of comstock house to save elizabeth. both daughter and mother agree that zachary hale comstock must die for what he has done, and that the vox will aid them in this.
the trio fights their way into zachary’s zeppelin with the help of the vox populi, and make their way up to the prophet’s sanctuary.
amelia inserts herself between zachary and elizabeth when he begins to get physically aggressive and a fight between the three breaks out. booker intervenes and slams zachary’s head into the baptismal font, ending his life. elizabeth comes to the conclusion that they must leave this timeline and destroy the siphon in its entirety.
the vox and songbird help the trio battle off the last of the founders and return to comstock house, where they destroy the large siphon that exists there.
the sea of doors occurs. it is revealed in one tear where booker and amelia find themselves dancing together that they were, in another timeline, lovers; and eventually married. it is then revealed that amelia did indeed birth elizabeth, and die during the process - and that booker sold anna/elizabeth to zachary.
amelia is not pleased. they have an argument on the boat. elizabeth just wants her parents to shut up because she’s monologuing. the luteces are grateful that this is not a common outcome in the sea of doors.
elizabeth drowns booker/zachary in the baptismal river with amelia’s hand on her shoulder. she is the last figure to vanish before elizabeth is left alone.
burial at sea does not happen but the cutscene shows all three of them together in a universe where amelia does not die and they are all very happy thank u good night.

Treasure Planet (2002)
Tumblr media
My feelings towards Treasure Planet are mixed. The picture is enjoyable but how much of its success comes from the original source material vs. this new coat of paint it's been given? Does it matter when the final results are this entertaining?
When Jim Hawkins (voiced by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) finds the map to the mythical Treasure Planet, he embarks on a voyage to claim the legendary riches. Accompanied by family friend Dr. Delbert Doppler (David Hyde Pierce), they fund the voyage and along with a crew of space-worthy men and women, they’re off. As Jim befriends the ship’s cook, a charismatic cyborg named John Silver (Brian Murray), he is warned of the many dangers that lie ahead: asteroids, space anomalies, and legions of men and women who will want the treasure for themselves.
This isn't the first time Robert Louis Stevenson's book has been set in space. Even so, it seems like an odd choice initially, but it works. The characters are memorable and appealing, particularly John Silver. The ship's Captain Amelia (voiced by Emma Thompson) is another standout. Jim himself is a bit plain but as he leaves behind his forlorn attitude and finds himself at home on the ship, he grows on you. The story is timeless and when you break it down, the vast ocean is not all that different from the emptiness of space. The sci-fi setting gives the animators the chance to go wild with the character designs and make them stand out even more than if they were all humans.
When it comes to the unique elements of this movie versus the source material, It's uneven. The look of the story is terrific. Each species of alien is completely different from the last and the way the artists translated well-known pirate traits into alien forms is clever. The costumes, ships, and equipment featured are an inspired blend of old fashioned, 16th Century wood and oil-based tools with stuff we can only dream of. The best example of this at work is John Silver. He’s got a robotic eye, arm, and leg, all generated through computer effects. All of the intricate mechanisms look awesome and blend seamlessly with the traditional animation used everywhere else. I was continuously impressed. The computer imagery is where it becomes obvious the technology had not yet been perfected. When used to create alien creatures or props that could've feasibly been done by hand, they stick out like sore thumbs.
The bane of this movie is a droid named B.E.N. (voiced by Martin Short). Introduced during the last third of this movie, "He" is annoying, feels totally out of place, and contributes nothing to the plot. You'll pray for the crewmembers to pull out a laser pistol and just shoot him in the head. The filmmakers evidently found him hilarious. You won't.
Treasure Planet draws from strong source material. The characters are timeless, as is the story and setting it in space adds some visual dazzle. It's enjoyable, though a part of me wonders if, down the line, I won't replace my DVD with a more faithful cinematic adaptation. There’s enough here to entrance adults and children alike and reservations aside, I recommend this off-beat Disney animated film. (On DVD, January 4, 2015)

Welcome to Hamelin (Parody of "Welcome to Rosas" from "Wish") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose, and Citizens of Hamelin
Amelia: Welcome to Hamelin! Come on, come this way! Where the greatest creations are all on display There's no other place just as full of surprise Where your dreams and your reality can collide
You wanna dance on beat? Or to have hair touch down to your feet? Go to outer space? Well, hey, you've come to the right place
Amelia and Citizens of Hamelin: 'Cause here in the city of Hamelin You can turn all your wanting to wishing No "what-ifs" and no "wonders" Oh here, in the city of Hamelin It's unlikely that you'll be unhappy with so much to discover
A home for me, for you, and all of us The city of Hamelin
So like, we have Pied Piper as you told And he plays the flute five years ago With rid of the rats and led the Weser River to drown No, no, no, I'm serious! But he is kindness
He's even like himself with a twist
Hamelin Townsperson Female: And someone that I'd like to kiss
Amelia: Oh, dear! For a magical wish And there you have it (Poof! It's a swish!)
Ooh and hey, did I mention when you here in any age You here to part of audition in a stage And he agree or disagree, every person he acquires And once a month, he approves someone's for desire It could be you someday, or for me (Ooh, I can't wait!)
Hamelin Townsperson Man: Does it hurt?
Hamelin Townsperson Boy: Do you cry?
Amelia: Oh! No, and you won't even miss it when you say goodbye
I Almost Remember (Once Upon A December) (From "Anastasia") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose
Amelia: Dancing bears, painted wings Things I almost remember And a song someone sings Once upon a December
Someone holds me safe and warm Horses prance through a silver storm Figures dancing gracefully Across my memory...
Chorus: Ahh-ahh-ahh, ahh-ahh-ahh Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh Ahh-ahh-ahh, ahh-ahh-ahh Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ah-ahh
Ahh-ahh-ahh, ahh-ahh-ahh Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh Ahh-ahh-ahh, ahh-ahh-ahh Ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ahh-ah-ahh
Amelia: Someone holds me safe and warm Horses prance through a silver storm Figures dancing gracefully Across my memory!
Far away, long ago Glowing dim as an ember Things my heart used to know Things it yearns to remember
And a song someone sings...
Once upon a December
This Journey To The Past (From "Anastasia") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose
Amelia: Heart, don't fail me now Courage, don't desert me Don't turn back now that we're here People always say Life is full of choices No one ever mentions fear Or how the world can seem so vast On a journey to the past!
Somewhere down this road I know someone's waiting Years of dreams just can't be wrong Arms will open wide I'll be safe and wanted Finally home where I belong! Well, starting now I'm learning fast! On this journey to the past!
Home, love, family There was once a time, I must have had them too Home, love, family I will never be complete until I find you!
One step at a time One hope, then another Who knows where this road may go? Back to who I was On to find my future Things my heart still needs to know!
Yes, let this be a sign Let this road be mine Let it lead me to my past And bring me home... at last!
Life's Too Short (From "Frozen") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose and Judy Kuhn
Amelia: I came all this way today to give us a fresh start But now that you're like "wow" It's all like warm in my heart
Goldie: I'm sure glad you like it sis, 'cause this is the real me You have no idea how great it feels to be free
Amelia: We've been falling out for way too long, so let’s forget who’s right
Goldie: And forget who’s wrong
Amelia and Goldie: Okay!
Goldie: Why don’t you stay, there’s room for family in my court
Amelia and Goldie: Cause life’s too short!
Amelia: To always feel shut out and unloved by the sister I long to know
Amelia and Goldie: Life’s too short!
Goldie: To never let you celebrate me, the future queen of Hamelin of gold
Amelia: Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Amelia and Goldie: I never understood, but now I do Life’s too short to miss out on a sister like you
Amelia: (spoken by Mae Whitman) So you’ll come back, then.
Goldie: (spoken by Florence Pugh) Back?
Amelia: To thaw the fjord. It’s frozen over, no one can get in or out?
Goldie: Oh.
Amelia: Sooo....
Goldie: (scoffs in disbelief) I don’t believe you!
Amelia: What? I just assumed that you'd have to...
Goldie: That I'd shove on the gloves, that’s how your story ends?
Amelia: It does! It's just like it was, except for we’ll be best friends
Goldie: So that’s been your plan to force me back in a cage?!
Amelia: Whoa, whoa! Don’t get upset let’s get back on the same page
Goldie: Gee, thanks for coming up to see the place And showing off your mastery of tact and grace Okay! Run down the hill and spill my secrets, make a full report! Bye-bye!
Amelia: Wait!
Goldie: Cause life’s too short!
Amelia: There it is! The door you’d love to slam in my face! You did well there, for a spell, but now you’re back in the same place Kick me out if you want, but I’m the only one who Is not one hundred percent convinced the prophecy’s you!
Goldie: (gasps) You can think whatever you want 'cause I don’t care You’re a fool who married a stranger!
Amelia: That is so unfair!
Amelia and Goldie: I swear I’m through with taking your unshaking sisterly support!
Amelia: Support!
Goldie: Support!
Amelia and Goldie: HAH! Life’s too short!
Amelia: To let you treat the people down there just as coldly as you always treated me
Goldie: La la lalala laaaa!
Amelia and Goldie: Life’s too short!
Goldie: To listen to a reckless fool who only ever sees the things she wants to see!
Amelia: You don’t know me...
Goldie: You have no idea...
Amelia and Goldie: What I've been through! Because of you Life’s too short to waste another minute! Life’s too short to even have you in it! Life’s too short!
Amelia: (spoken by Mae Whitman) I've been so wrong about you!
Goldie: (spoken by Florence Pugh) You?! You've been so wrong about everything!
Amelia: Maybe you are the prophecy!
Goldie: I am NOT the prophecy!
And This Is The Thanks I Get?! (From "Wish") Lyrics, Song by Judy Kuhn
Goldie: I can't help it if mirrors love my face It's genetics! Yeah, I got these genes from outer space Peep the name, I'm magnificent I put the "I" in "omnipotent" I'm passionate, I'm not petulant Someone praise me for my benevolence Uh, just look, ha-ha I'd give the clothes off Benito's back If you really needed that I'd be the first one to volunteer Henry If your home were to crumble Or if you were in trouble
I let you live here for free And I don't even charge you rent I clean up all your messes And I'm always there when you need to vent I give and give and give and give You'd think they'd all be content And all I really want is just a little respect
And this is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da) This is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da) And this is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da) And this is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da)
"You're so brilliant" Ah, that's the least you could say There's more, admit it "You're cute and strong and bold and brave, " thanks See this kingdom? I built it up And you still complain? Ungrateful much? Mm, are you sure that you're not the prob? I'd love to see you try and do my job, oh-ho!
I granted fourteen wishes last year Come on, that's a high percent And now you're questioning your king? The disrespect I just underwent You know I always got your back Yeah, really though, it's no sweat Since the day you were born and the day that we met
I didn't wanna do this I swore I'd never do this But I'm hypnotized by how these pages flip 'Cause I refuse to have my power stripped A potion, a spell, a summon, a curse? Anything to make that light reverse To this book, I don't wanna be tethered, but Desperate times call for desperate measures Brr, where was I? Oh, yeah
There's a traitor in this town And still I remain unbent Come out now, explain yourself I'm sure it's all just an accident Well, whoever finds them first Now, that's a wish well spent Honestly, keeping you safe should be worth every cent
And this is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da) This is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da) And this is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da) This is the thanks I get? (Da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da-da, da) Oh, this is the thanks I get?!
I Make This Wish (From "Wish") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose and Dreamworks
Amelia: Isn't truth supposed to set you free? Well, why do I feel so weighed down by it? If I could show them everything I've seen Open their eyes to all the lies then Would they change their minds like I did? But when I speak, they tell me, "Sit down" But how can I when I've already started runnin'? Oh, this is where we've been, but it's not where we belong And I may be young, but, I know I'm not wrong
So I look up at the stars to guide me And throw caution to every warning sign If knowing what it could be is what drives me Then let me be the first to stand in line So I make this wish To have something more for us than this So I make this wish To have something more for us than... this!
Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah! Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, ah-ah! More than this, oh-ah-ah-ah!
I never knew I needed room to grow Yeah, I did what I was told when someone told me "No" Now I've got all of this freedom in my bones But I've still got the lid on, so it doesn't overflow 'Cause I've got reservations and hesitations On where I should even begin! I'm past dipping my toes in But I'm not, no, I'm not past diving in! If I could just be pointed in any given direction On where to go and what to do My legs are shaking, but my head's held high The way you always taught me to...
So I look up at the stars to guide me And throw caution to every warning sign I'm sure there will be challenges that find me But I can take them on one at a time! So I make this wish To have something more for us than this So I make this wish To have something more for us than... this!
Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah! (So I make this wish) Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah, ah-ah! (To have something more) More than this, oh, ah-ah-ah!
So I make this wish To have something more for us than this!
Let It Go (From "Frozen") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose
Amelia: The sun glows yellow on the mountain tonight Not a footprint to be seen My life has been an isolation And it fits like I'm the queen
The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows I tried Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always have to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know
Let it go, let it go Can't hold it back anymore Let it go, let it go Turn away and slam the door I don't care what they're going to say Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway
It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small And the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all It's time to see what I can do To test the limits and break through No right, no wrong, no rules for me I'm free
Let it go, let it go I am one with the wind and sky Let it go, let it go You'll never see me cry Here I stand and here I stay Let the storm rage on
My power flurries through the air into the ground My soul is spiraling in frozen fractals all around And one thought crystallizes like an icy blast I'm never going back, the past is in the past
Let it go, let it go And I'll rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go That orphan girl is gone! Here I stand in the light of day Let the storm rage on! The cold never bothered me anyway!
Let It Go (Reprise) (A Fanmade song from "Frozen") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose
Amelia: The snow glows white on the clouds today Not a fingerprint to be seen A kingdom of isolation And it looks like I'm the empress
The chill is howling like this swirling wind inside Couldn't keep it in, heaven knows you tried Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl I always have to be Conceal, don't feel, don't let them know Well, now they know!
Let it go, let it go And you'll rise like the break of dawn Let it go, let it go That crazy girl is gone Here you stand in the light of ray Let the hurricane rage on The wind always bothered you anyway
I Make This Wish (Reprise) (From "Wish") Lyrics, Song by Ariana DeBose
Amelia: So I look out at the stars just like me And I'm begging you to see this as a sign 'Cause I know that if you choose to stand beside me I'll be greater than all your magic flute combined
So I make this wish So I make this wish This wish, this wish
To have something more for us than... this
Chorus: Ah-ah-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah-ah
Amelia: I've had generations of expectations Wondering why, wondering when I'm past dipping my toes in I know it's do or die, it's sink or swim
You were confusing my promises for protection But I know what I've gotta do Hope unchanging, with my wish held high The way you've always taught me to
So I look out at the stars just like me And throw caution to every warning sign What you do in this moment is defining And I can take it on if I'll align!
So I make this wish To have something more for us than this So I make this wish To have something more for us than this!
Chorus: Oh-oh, oh-oh! Ah-ah-ah!

I'm still having a hard time understanding your definition of "canon relationship". Endgame material? Essentially happy? Featured in many episodes? I think most people simply consider "canon" = "it happened in the show/book/film". And Sam and Eileen have canonically had feeling for each other, on screen. What those feelings were and how much they may have been manipulated by Chuck, neither seems sure, but it doesn't make them any less of a thing that noticeably happened. Therefore canon.
When you need a semantic debate to somehow validate your favored ship, and you feel the need to debate semantics with a stranger on the internet in order to “win” and be proven “correct” in some way, we’ve all lost, friendo.
You’re absolutely right, with your definition of “canon.” It’s what has actually happened, in the case of Supernatural, on screen in the show itself. That’s not up for debate. You’re trying to introduce a strawman into this conversation.
I’m attempting to define, from a watsonian perspective, which means from WITHIN THE NARRATIVE, how the CHARACTERS THEMSELVES would describe their relationship. You’re giving me the doylist perspective, from outside the narrative, the fact that Sam and Eileen have a relationship of any kind-- romantic or otherwise-- in canon.
You’re attempting to conflate the two things, for the sake of winning an argument on the internet.
By your definition, Dean and Cas are canon, too. Which, I mean... they are, but that’s not the debate here, and it adds nothing to the fact that Eileen herself, in canon, has stated that she doesn’t feel her relationship with Sam is even real.
Yes, it happened in canon, but that’s not the whole story, either.
I mean, let’s use a completely non-shippy example here, to hopefully illustrate why “but they’re canon! it happened in canon!” is... an entirely irrelevant point in context. Let’s look at a canonical friendship to illustrate the point.
Canonically, Garth has tried to kill Sam. That happened, in canon. Garth wolfed out and attacked Sam. Sounds awful, right? Should we lose all sympathy for Garth? Should we believe that he did that of his own free will, and is an “evil” character now, because that very much did happen in canon? Or are we supposed to use our brains and understand that Garth literally did not have a choice, because he was acting under a form of mind control, being puppeted by Michael into attacking Sam? Are we supposed to have a better understanding of what actually happened in context, and correctly see this as “Michael tried to use a trusted character to harm Sam, playing on their preexisting friendship/relationship in order to lure Sam in to his trap, and using Sam’s trust and friendship with that character to harm him?”
Mary has canonically tried to kill Sam and Dean (in 12.03). Are we to assume that she obviously hates them and wanted them dead? Because canonically her actions would say we should! She tried to hurt them! Oh, but... she was possessed by a ghost, and wasn’t in control of her own actions... maybe we actually need to think about what that means... maybe Mary herself doesn’t actually want to kill her own sons...
Or if you’re a Mary hater and are willing to think the worst of her, how about the canonical fact that Dean has tried to kill Sam. That Dean has canonically told Sam that he wished he were dead? There you have it, Dean canonically has said “your life sucked the life out of my life” to him. Dean canonically rejected any sort of care for Sam. Are we supposed to take that at face value, just because it happened in canon? Or are we supposed to understand that Dean was a demon, and Honestly. >.>
Cas canonically kissed Meg that one time. Obviously they’re canon, right? What, they’re not? Oh, right, Dean even lampshaded the fact with the “give you an hour with Meg first” comment, to which Cas replied “Why would I want that?” Does a kiss make a couple “canon?” What does that even mean? “going canon” is a practically useless term in cases like that. The goalposts for what any one person would consider qualifies a romantic couple as “canon” are eternally shifting all over the field.
Let’s be better than that, and instead understand that we’re all talking about our individual interpretations of the same canon. We’re just seeing different things, because we are different people with different experiences and understandings of the characters and the overarching narrative.
I have repeatedly explained my understanding of Sam and Eileen’s relationship as canon itself has defined it. I have explained that my understanding of the relationship they had, offscreen and undefined by canon, between 11.11 and 12.17 has shifted dramatically since Eileen’s return in 15.06. I had, before this season, been willing to HEADCANON that Sam and Eileen could’ve had an established offscreen relationship based on the nature of their relationship we saw onscreen in 12.17. It was cute! It was exciting thinking that Sam had grown so close to someone!
It was... proven in s15 that the offscreen relationship we’d all headcanoned in s12 was... nothing more than a happy headcanon, and had not actually happened! THAT is what I mean when I have talked about what is ~not~ canon about their relationship. Let’s be very clear about that, because
Tumblr media
(gif source)
So, the debate over what is canon or what is not canon, to me personally, is an entirely useless conversation. Dean canonically hates chick flick movies. Also, he canonically loves chick flick movies. Sam canonically does not like bacon (15.06), and yet he canonically made a huge pile of bacon with Eileen in 15.07, but then was back to eating salad by the next episode. You can point at a lot of things that are “canon” to try and prove your point. To whatever end, or for whatever motive you may have in attempting to do so. That’s called “cherry picking.” (pay special attention to the section on Confirmation Bias) You have to be aware of what exactly canon is showing us as a whole, though, for it to have any actual meaning.
At this point, after 15.09, Eileen has canonically chosen not to pursue a relationship with Sam, after she was canonically manipulated by an outside force into attempting to pursue a relationship with Sam.
She could, in canon, return to pursue a relationship with Sam! I am not here to speculate on that! It could happen! But it would be based in their canonical history, that is almost entirely muddied by Chuck’s interference in their relationship to this point. That is literal, actual canon!
But they had a cute relationship in 12.17! Chuck didn’t make them do that!
I have not denied that! That is obvious! But I’m not going to ignore everything that happened in s15 that has been (in canon! again!) defined as “not real.” As “not their own choice.” And I’m not going to suggest we just handwave the canonical fact that Eileen feels used, feels violated, by how Chuck attempted to manipulate her into seducing Sam, despite their canonical past interactions.
I mean, Sam carried out a two season canonical romance arc with Ruby. Their relationship is canon. He canonically had feelings for her, trusted her, fully engaged in the relationship with her. That’s not up for debate, but the in-canon CONTEXT of their relationship was a lie, you know? She lied to him for two years, with a specific goal in doing so. She manipulated him into all of that to free Lucifer from the cage. The fact that their relationship is canon is entirely irrelevant to any ANALYSIS of said relationship, and understanding it in context, and what it means for the characters.
So when you apply the context to Sam and Eileen’s relationship as it stands in s15, the fact it ~exists~ isn’t up for debate. The fact that they canonically interacted in a flirtatious fashion on screen, the fact they did anything together on screen isn’t up for debate. The reason WHY Eileen engaged in any of this, though, is also not up for debate. Chuck made it all happen, from the moment her ghost appeared in the bunker to the moment she told Sam she needed to leave, all of that is under a pall of Chuck’s influence. That... is also canon.
So anon, what do YOU mean when you say “they’re canon.” Do you mean they have established a mutually consensual romantic relationship? (because if so, then they are NOT canon) Do you mean “they have interacted in a way that can be interpreted as insinuating there is romantic interest between them?” Because I could give you that one. They definitely have potential in the future. Do you mean “They kissed on screen!” Because heck, what does that even mean?
Sam’s canonically kissed a lot of people! Jessica Moore! Lori Sorenson! Sarah Blake! Jo (well, he was possessed by Meg at the time, so does this one count? Their mouths touched...)! Madison the werewolf! Ruby! Amelia Richardson! Dr. Roberts! Amy Pond! Becky (though he was under a love spell for that one, so does that count? from how skeeved the entire fandom has always been by that one... even if Becky thought they had real feelings for each other “deep down,” does anyone think Sam actually consented to any of that?)! Annie Hawkins (self-reported by Sam, and we take his word for it)! That woman who propositioned his body while he’d been body swapped with Gary, so does that even count because only Sam’s body was used there? or did they even actually do anything beyond tying Sam’s body occupied by Gary to a bed and getting out the flail...)! And if we’re going meta, then Genevieve Padalecki in the French Mistake!universe! That hippie chick soulless sam had sex with when Dean was abducted by “aliens” that one time! and speaking of soulless sam, the hooker he was with in 6.03, and the apparent string of women he was with that we only learned about tangentially via 6.13!
Does that mean Sam has a canonical relationship with all of these women? YES. But... like... you can’t look at this list (which is probably not even complete) and suggest that all of these relationships are of equal canonical import, or that they are equivalent in emotional weight for Sam as a character. That’s... idiotic, frankly.
So, to me, the discussion of “what is canon” is like... irrelevant to anything I’m actually here for. The actual understanding of what the canonical relationship MEANS and how it informs character is what is actually important to me.
So please stop trying to undercut an actual discussion of canon with a semantics strawman. Thanks.
