Can somebody please make a gif of Robert's face when he realises that its John who's just come in the front door so that I can use it whenever he p's me off please!!!
Or if someone has already done this help me to find it - I'm useless with technology and even posting this is an achievement.

the only reason Robert wasn’t walking around the village with his wedding ring back on is that Aaron has it

Also, given the fact that they do have questions about the suicide note. Should they also not have realised that there were no fingerprints on the laptop?? (And possibly the door handles etc?)
And I suppose the time anomaly also definitively proves that Owen was already (conveniently🙄) dead when John arrives (and it is good to have that clarification I suppose)
True...it does make it clear he was already dead because I doubt it took him that long to write that suicide note. Then again, the way he talks about that suicide note, it sounds like it was ten pages long with diagrams or something. Haha. So who knows...
But yeah...there were so many red flags about that whole situation and it took this long for them to even figure out the most obvious one. These people have no hope.

The police investigating Owen’s death (taking 84 years to figure out faux suicide note’s timestamp) and Aaron (saying insane things about his marriage) are having an IDGAF-off competition. Who’s in the lead?
I don't know....but I know Robert is still losing on both accounts...poor guy. Haha.

I feel like the way you can tell that John doesn't know about Robron having sex is the fact that he's not actively trying to solve that problem right now. As much as Robert doesn't have any chill or patience, neither does John. He can't sit back and play the long game. He has no idea what the long game is. He only knows how to solve his immediate problem and then create more problems to solve from that. There's no way he would be able to just sit back and only worry about Nate. Even with Aaron suggesting they leave, that wouldn't be enough of a solve for him. He'd have to do more to Aaron, to Robert...something.

I got distracted by robron and forgot the reason the police are suddenly suspicious of Owen's suicide confession is because it was saved after Owen was already dead...
Two things...
Did the police not think to check that before??? Did they only just now find out the likely time of death and bother to check the confession? Feels like they could have known that sooner. Especially since Robert was round there being like "heyyy!! Owen has an alibi! This doesn't make any sense!?!"
Hahah I knew those timestamps would get John in trouble. What an idiot. Should have just hand written a note in deliberately weird handwriting or something.

With all the hullabaloo yesterday, I completely forgot what’s about to happen to Mack. Which is…….. probably nothing. He’ll just be on marriage holiday and chilling, most likely. He’ll be fine, Jenny.
I mean...he can be locked up in the basement of John's little cottage or in a shed somewhere on the property...whatever...waiting for his and Aaron's big week as long as he's not dead and as long as he survives whatever this week is.
In my head...he's going to be just fine. Okay. Haha.
I need Mack to witness Robron getting back together alright?

Do you think the 'removal man' is a friend of John's (maybe even an ex comrade in arms) because I can't for the life of me think why anyone else would lie to the police (possibly risking a perverting the course of justice charge) particularly in a potential murder case?? And John seemed more familiar on that call than he would have done with a random phone book stranger.
Apologies if this has been established already - I haven't got to that part in my watch yet.
They did not previously establish that, no. But he certainly seemed familiar with the person he was calling, so definitely possible.

Saw a gifset of Mack being held captive, bound and blindfolded and thought it must be from a preview clip. Turns out it’s from 2023. How many times is this going to happen to him haha;)
Yeah...he got kidnapped by Chloe's dad and held captive and Charity ended up shooting Damon to save him or something. I don't know...I was barely watching then. Haha.
I think he's got at least one more kidnapped and hostage situation in him right?

Mack being a future tally on the list of Aaron things that burden John. “Oh, your best mate is missing? That’s very annoying and stressful for me. Why does your family always have drama? We should go camping to take me feel better.” #HesTheWorst
I’m sure he would. But also…missing is not dead and I’m still in denial. Haha.

I love your drawing it’s amazing. Is it just accepted now that Aaron is the top😉
I mean I literally could not care either way. It just seemed to be the general feeling of the fandom at the moment and my reference picture worked better for it.
I’ve drawn them both ways many times over the years.
But I’m glad you like the drawing!

Who do you think John was talking to at the end?
Well we know the removal man guy is coming back so I assume he was talking to him. Since John thinks he’s resolved the situation later this week.

The John/Aaron scene in their house is actually really good because you see how John's particular brand of manipulation was almost tailor-made to work on Aaron
John is having a rought time because of Anthony (Aaron's fault), because of having to support Aaron and Ruby through that (Aaron's fault), because of Nate's investigation (Aaron's family/his fault), because everyone in the family is a mess and John had to support them (Aaron's messy family/his fault), because of Robert being around (Aaron's ex/his fault)
Aaron already is the type of person who feels guilt for being to much to love, and who thinks he owes people if he ever makes a mistake.
That scene starts with John listing all these ways Aaron made his life oh so difficult. And Aaron already feels guilty about sleeping with Robert. And now he's given all these other reasons to feel guilty about again.
And so he tries to fix it. To make himself smaller. More manageable. And how does he do that? Cut parts of himself off. Is his family too much? We'll move. Is supporting Aaron too much? He'll pretend he's ok.
It's so so sad to see because on the other side of this is a man who, even if always showing it in the most insane ways possible, would burn the world to make Aaron feel better. Would burn himself to make Aaron feel better.
The same things Aaron is now having to give away to keep his relationship with John? His family, his friends, his home
Those are the things Robert refused to let him lose when he went to jail in 2019.
#this is all very true#and he’s listed all those things before#I forget when that was#I feel like he probably just regularly runs through that list with him every time he feels like his control is slipping#just to keep Aaron feeling indebted to him#I wish we saw more of it#but also this was enough#cause he’s the worst

Episode Thoughts…
I think I remembered what I don’t like about Sarah Bagshaw’s writing. Scenes tend to feel a little rushed and like they don’t have time to breathe. I enjoyed the episode but it sort of felt like every scene was missing a final beat.
Anyway…so…Robert…not actually that good at waiting. Haha. Being sad breakdown Robert and saying you’re gonna leave is a far better way to get Aaron to let his guard down…we’ve been through this. Bless him, he’s so eager. I don’t blame him, I can’t deal with John either.
His texts were too much. Haha. He really is not good at being on the other side of an affair. You gotta play it cool.
Also yes, trying to tell Aaron what to do is never a good idea. You’d think he would have learned that at any point in the last eleven years.
Apparently what does work is complaining that Aaron’s family is stressing you out with all of the problems you created. My god John, I hate you. Also that Robert is always in your face like you don’t drop round for morning gaslighting sessions like it’s a double espresso to give you a little extra pep for your day. He’s the worst.
And like…why does no one question why he’s soooo stressed about this Nate murder investigation?! Like Jesus…it’s staring you in the face people. He should not care this much. No one else does. Hell Cain and Tracy don’t even care this much. Ugh I hate him and everyone else’s plot brain.
I wish his manipulation of Aaron was more deliberate and pointed instead of just general making Aaron feel bad and want to help him. But I guess it does give a little more insight into their relationship as a whole cause it’s probably always like this. And we have seen it, he has used things like Anthony before to cover up any other stress, just to make Aaron keep feeling like he owes him.
Aaron saying “I owe him” all the time to everyone really is a giant red flag. And I do like that they’ve made that a massive part of his motivation.
But it does also feel like Aaron cheating on John with Robert and feeling like he needs to run from the weight of Robert’s emotionally clingy texts has just fallen into John’s lap at the right time when things are getting rocky with the Nate investigation.
Also Aaron being like “John found us a cottage!” Like it isn’t just…his house. Haha. What?!
The Mack conversations were fun. I’m glad he sees exactly what Aaron is doing. I also love that Aaron absolutely cannot deny that he loves Robert ever. He always swerves that question. It’s great. Also, he only seems to tell Robert that he loves John. With everyone else, it’s “I owe him”.
But god am I tired of seeing everyone fawn all over John.
Also I was shocked that blueflakies line was Robert. Haha. He’s going to be so crushed when he finds out Aaron’s running away.
As for the rest of the episode…
Belle and Kammy were cute. I hate that this Vinny story is going to mess that up for them. Hopefully the truth about all of that will come out soon and they can resume their cute flirtations.
Sad that Celia was playing Moira but I kind of had a feeling. The whole “my friend” thing was far too vague. Moira needs to be less trusting.
Also, I need Kim to come back because I’m kind of tired of Joe just being like “I’m doing all of this per Kim’s orders and requests etc”.
Also Dawn is so boring. I’m so over her.
