tried out a new art style for this one to spice things up and it was both a blessing and a curse. blessing bc i kinda love it. curse bc it took forever to get used to it bc clean lineart is NOT my friend u_u i hope other people enjoy the style switch-up as well. will probably keep experimenting with my style to see what clicks with me the most.

If I may, how do you do shading/shine on the blorbos? The way you do it is so immaculate I am desperately curious

I will explain with examples of commissions I did:

I used to do shadows, but in my current style I actually use more highlights and reflections. I just take a marker, lower the opacity and start giving light to the character, then I add reflections to that light!

It's worth mentioning that before putting the lights, I always start by taking the base colors and make them a gradient, that is, take a darker color but of the same tone to create that effect of maybe, depth? Although is very subtle. I think I kind of make the shading part like that lol

Sometimes I also put a darker color on top of the lighter one (you can see it in Shadow's quills or Blaze's legs) and sometimes I add lights and reflections, it gives a result that I like.

I noticed that when I put the gradient of a darker color together with the light color, put light on top and reflection underneath, it looks good (see on Amy's spikes ⬇️)

I don't know if you were referring to that, the truth is that here I have shown little of this style.

The style I have for the drawings I did of Shadow and Maria were rather experimental, and I always start by putting a base color that will make that when mixed with the color I want to put, always keep the original tone.

I love your art sm!! Can I ask what brushes you use?

hai ! thank you! and also thank you for asking. I kinda hop between several programs, so grouped these brushes in regards to the rendering style :)

CLIP STUDIO PAINT: I usually stick to the default lighter and rough pencil .. but lately i have been using the Kasuy brush pack, which is only available for clip.. supah fun textures, loove it!

DRAWPILE: kinda unconventional but i looove the way the brushes feel in drawpile.. I even made a pseudo-dupe in CSP . but i enjoy the crunchy, compressed textured.... also working in a limited program .. helps me get into a flooww state.. nothing is ever too serious... lool

MSPAINT: pretty simple but all my binary brush looking work is done in mspaint, using the single or 3 px pencil. also the marker brush ! same as drawpile.. sometimes drawing in a simpler program really gets u outta the confines of expectation ... a lot of my favourite pieces came from doodling here :)

Something Catches Local Bunny Boy's Attention 👀

I am curious how exactly Nightflyer ended up hanging out with Rodimus? I imagined he'd be angry at the guy who was secretly a spy and got his sister lost in space. But I could also see him looking at Nightflyer and being like, "You got issues... same! Want me to be your mentor?"

So this is what happened.

Nightflyer is detained and Megatron is ready to kill him, however Rodie steps in and says “This kid is a trained military asset and the prince of Cybertron. killing him put everyone in more danger. He’s more valuable to us alive because he can help us track down Sparkplug”.

This is able to stop Megatron from ripping the kid’s head off. However Nightflyer isn’t out of the woods yet, instead of staying imprisoned with the rest of the seekers sent to earth, he’s gonna get on a space ship and go find Sparkplug. Along with some of the most intense ass Atobots he’s ever met. Ultra magus, Megatron, Ratchet, Drift… bro is stuck in space walking on egg shells.

However it’s in this time Rodimus sees through Nightflyers mask and sees the bot underneath it. A scared little boy that just wanted to go home and see his dad again…. And with Rodimus having daddy issues… he can’t help but take a bit of a liking to the kid.

He forces him to take on the Autobot insignia and tell him “by the end of this trip, you’re gonna be an autobot, if you like it or not”.

– Love potion! – Ochako replies cheerfully as she stirs, a pleased smile on her lips at the thought of the pretty shiny coins she's going to get from selling this.

– Stupid, – Himiko pouts disdainfully, draping herself all over the young woman from behind. – Where's the fun of that? Just my luck I have my love potion right here~

She doesn't even ask before sinking her teeth into the soft flesh before her to prove just that.
