Hope this doesn't sound rude, I'm simply curious, but is KOBD a thing in your au? I'm asking because ever since I joined this fandom they seem like that one ship every likes (to be fair I only been here for 2 months or so), so I'm a little suprise you never mention them

Oh it 100% is! I even have like a little arc for Sparkplug surrounding them because they come to earth and basically blackmail the autobots into making them a sparkling like Sparkplug (made from two bots).

Basically it goes over a lot of mental stuff with Sparkplug in debating the ethics of creating another Frankenstein’s monster like her. But then we see that it’s completely possible to make another one like her with both parents surviving and being fine, and it just makes everyone sit and think for a while. Because like it’s been said “Sparkplug shouldn’t really exist”, she’s made from a dying spark that caused her a lot of health problems.

Ultimately Knock out and Break down just hang out on earth for a while because they feel like it while Spark gets stuck babysitting a brand new Wildbreak.

The reason I haven’t done this is because I wanna do it kinda well and also I hate drawing Knockout.

But in all seriousness I love those two for real

I love your art sm!! Can I ask what brushes you use?

hai ! thank you! and also thank you for asking. I kinda hop between several programs, so grouped these brushes in regards to the rendering style :)

CLIP STUDIO PAINT: I usually stick to the default lighter and rough pencil .. but lately i have been using the Kasuy brush pack, which is only available for clip.. supah fun textures, loove it!

DRAWPILE: kinda unconventional but i looove the way the brushes feel in drawpile.. I even made a pseudo-dupe in CSP . but i enjoy the crunchy, compressed textured.... also working in a limited program .. helps me get into a flooww state.. nothing is ever too serious... lool

MSPAINT: pretty simple but all my binary brush looking work is done in mspaint, using the single or 3 px pencil. also the marker brush ! same as drawpile.. sometimes drawing in a simpler program really gets u outta the confines of expectation ... a lot of my favourite pieces came from doodling here :)

– Love potion! – Ochako replies cheerfully as she stirs, a pleased smile on her lips at the thought of the pretty shiny coins she's going to get from selling this.

– Stupid, – Himiko pouts disdainfully, draping herself all over the young woman from behind. – Where's the fun of that? Just my luck I have my love potion right here~

She doesn't even ask before sinking her teeth into the soft flesh before her to prove just that.

hey, long time admirer of your stuff! ive just been wondering, though, how exactly do you do your eyes? like.. obviously they're different from character to character, but how do you usually form them and whatnot?

heya thank you :) it's been a while since i answered one of these in depth but for you good anon i will try my best..... Here's the simple answer:

Here is some more thought-process/behind the scenes stuff:

Obviously head angle determines many things about drawing eyes; I've been trying harder to keep it in mind when I'm putting lines down, and it'll generally make them look more grounded/offer better depth. The main takeaway from head angle is how are the eye sockets oriented. Doing drawovers of photographs is a cheap+easy way to get a feel for this, but I wouldn't worry about 100% anatomical accuracy; what I'm trying to get a feel for is the placement of eyes versus the brow/nose bridges.

The amount of detail I put into eyes is wildly inconsistent haha it rly depends on the piece and art style, but the (for lack of a better word) "definition lines" and spots of black in deep shadow make up most of the detailed stuff. I'm still not great at drawing massively distinctive eye shapes but I try to maintain a general sense of one for different faces (ex. Rectangular, narrow, round, angled up or down). I'll also be the first to admit it takes a lot of conscious thought to reproduce the same line variation/angles in someone's eyes each time you draw them, but if you're looking for advice on consistency those are examples of traits I'd keep in mind.

That's it for the most part.... I don't think the way I draw eyes is particularly unique lol so here are a few things that have gotten me where I am:

other people's art, a lot of which is manga. when I say naruto taught me to draw im only half joking hwheeze. my art tastes lean towards manga/comic stylization so none of this is hugely realistic overall....

that being said, I do like the more realistic side of manga/comic art so photo studies/anatomy tips have still been useful to me

this tutorial by sinix is one of my favorite things ever, because it explicitly discusses both anatomical knowledge AND how to translate that into shorthand

I was first introduced to your story and art on Tik Tok and was so excited to get to find you on tumblr too. I absolutely love your story, your designs and characters, and especially adored the Sparkplug, Nightflyer, SoundBlaster dynamic. For the elytra thing!! Damselflies have super gorgeous wings imo, there's a lot more variety than just this though, some have partial dark spots and some are entirely an iridescent black, whatever feels most fun for you!
