Intrinsically safe phones are crucial for maintaining communication between workers operating in underground tunnels. These phones are also valuable in the pharmaceutical industry, where fine powders used in drug manufacturing can create explosive atmospheres. By ensuring that their phones are intrinsically safe, pharmaceutical companies can protect their workers and facilities from potential explosions.

Green energy is in its heyday.
Renewable energy sources now account for 22% of the nation’s electricity, and solar has skyrocketed eight times over in the last decade. This spring in California, wind, water, and solar power energy sources exceeded expectations, accounting for an average of 61.5 percent of the state's electricity demand across 52 days.
But green energy has a lithium problem. Lithium batteries control more than 90% of the global grid battery storage market.
That’s not just cell phones, laptops, electric toothbrushes, and tools. Scooters, e-bikes, hybrids, and electric vehicles all rely on rechargeable lithium batteries to get going.
Fortunately, this past week, Natron Energy launched its first-ever commercial-scale production of sodium-ion batteries in the U.S.
“Sodium-ion batteries offer a unique alternative to lithium-ion, with higher power, faster recharge, longer lifecycle and a completely safe and stable chemistry,” said Colin Wessells — Natron Founder and Co-CEO — at the kick-off event in Michigan.
The new sodium-ion batteries charge and discharge at rates 10 times faster than lithium-ion, with an estimated lifespan of 50,000 cycles.
Wessells said that using sodium as a primary mineral alternative eliminates industry-wide issues of worker negligence, geopolitical disruption, and the “questionable environmental impacts” inextricably linked to lithium mining.
“The electrification of our economy is dependent on the development and production of new, innovative energy storage solutions,” Wessells said.
Why are sodium batteries a better alternative to lithium?
The birth and death cycle of lithium is shadowed in environmental destruction. The process of extracting lithium pollutes the water, air, and soil, and when it’s eventually discarded, the flammable batteries are prone to bursting into flames and burning out in landfills.
There’s also a human cost. Lithium-ion materials like cobalt and nickel are not only harder to source and procure, but their supply chains are also overwhelmingly attributed to hazardous working conditions and child labor law violations.
Sodium, on the other hand, is estimated to be 1,000 times more abundant in the earth’s crust than lithium.
“Unlike lithium, sodium can be produced from an abundant material: salt,” engineer Casey Crownhart wrote in the MIT Technology Review. “Because the raw ingredients are cheap and widely available, there’s potential for sodium-ion batteries to be significantly less expensive than their lithium-ion counterparts if more companies start making more of them.”
What will these batteries be used for?
Right now, Natron has its focus set on AI models and data storage centers, which consume hefty amounts of energy. In 2023, the MIT Technology Review reported that one AI model can emit more than 626,00 pounds of carbon dioxide equivalent.
“We expect our battery solutions will be used to power the explosive growth in data centers used for Artificial Intelligence,” said Wendell Brooks, co-CEO of Natron.
“With the start of commercial-scale production here in Michigan, we are well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for efficient, safe, and reliable battery energy storage.”
The fast-charging energy alternative also has limitless potential on a consumer level, and Natron is eying telecommunications and EV fast-charging once it begins servicing AI data storage centers in June.
On a larger scale, sodium-ion batteries could radically change the manufacturing and production sectors — from housing energy to lower electricity costs in warehouses, to charging backup stations and powering electric vehicles, trucks, forklifts, and so on.
“I founded Natron because we saw climate change as the defining problem of our time,” Wessells said. “We believe batteries have a role to play.”

HELLUVA BOSS SINSMAS SPOILERS, OCTAVIA EDITION-- [Spoilers below! Am tagging this as well, of course, but just in case you didn't catch the tags, this is your sign to stop now if you don't want a spoiler.]
I freaking love Octavia SO MUCH, you guys!!!! I love her, love her, love her! What a fantastically written character. And good lord, her singing voice! That was absolutely incredible. Not what I need to post about, but I had to mention it because she absolutely blew my socks off! Aaaahhh! but okay, okay, focusing and moving on.
I am 99% sure Octavia knows. Deep down. She knows that Stolas really does love her. And I think she understands, or really, truly will understand. She knows how important antidepressants are, clearly, and even if she didn't fully understand why he has them, she knows they're meaningful and that he does need them. And like, the first real "reason" she had to go see him, she immediately leapt on it. Giving him the medications--showing she cares, even if she's yelling? And she immediately moved to his defense, absolutely fearless.
Octavia loves Stolas.
She pushed back at him, yelled at him, questioned him, doubts him--all things that I really don't think she would do if he hadn't made her feel safe, loved, and wanted all her life. She can push back against Stolas, because I think she believes, on a purely subconscious level probably, an instinct born of the fact that he raised her with so much love and tenderness, that he would never hurt her, never judge her. And that is exactly how it should be, that is wonderful. Stolas instilled a sense of safety in her when it comes to him, or else she wouldn't be so honest with him, wouldn't let her pain show so clearly.
She doesn't do that with Stella and Andrealphus. She doesn't even really confront them at all, it seems. She could have been sassing them all along, snapping at them for taking her phone, for limiting her at all, but she just doesn't bother... and I think it says so much. If she really trusted Stella to have her best interests at heart, to be the loving and understanding mother--I like to think Octavia would've called her on her bs. But on some level, Octavia didn't seem to feel there was any point to confronting Stella or Andrealphus.
Only Stolas.
Because he is still the one who matters most to her, and with whom she is intrinsically safe.
She still trusts him. Even if she doesn't think she does right now, she turned to him with questions and exposed her vulnerabilities. Maybe she didn't react "logically" to his answers, but I mean, she's a teenager. She's a good kid, she's just also going through devastating heartbreak and loss right now, she's young, she's allowed to act out, act up. Yes, of course it's painful to watch, because I want our sweet Stolas to have his reunion with Via... but I think he will. I really, really think he will. It's okay that she's not ready for that time to be now. She'll get there eventually, and the two of them can be whole again <3
I think Via is too good a person to ever be fully corrupted by Stella's hatred and indifference, or Andre's casual cruelty. She has a lot of pain of her own to deal with right now, but as that heals, I choose to believe she'll see Stolas as a person too, not just as a father, not just as the one person in her life who was always there for her, but as a person. I think she'll see. She'll forgive him. And she will love him all the more deeply--
And that every day, until that day, she will love him still.
I adore her.
I adore her so much.
Adding, TLDR: I think it's so important that she feels she can safely reject him, because deep down Via knows that Stolas will never reject her, no matter what. Even now. She doesn't need to placate or tolerate him. She'll always be safe with him, and even if she doesn't know that consciously... I think she still knows.

now i haven't finished the dream thieves yet (i'm like,,, 7 chapters away from finishing) and i think this may contain spoilers???? but i'm not too sure yet. i'm basically gonna word vomit. i'm sorry for not using any quotes, i wish i could but i only have the ebook version and a very limited storage space on my phone where i can only have ~two books downloaded
like a normal person, i enjoy listening to video essays, see what creators want to explain to their audience and leave with a certain view, try to come to my own arguments about certain points in the videos, see if i can apply some points to other aspects of my life etc etc. (this was the type of shi that helped me with my eng lit essays rip i miss alevels) and like a normal british citizen i looked up stuff about classism in the uk. in the end, i found a video essay about classism in general and how the ultra rich try to mimic being poor to get away from their hard issues that comes with being rich (which, frankly, is probably a lot less compared to someone who is working class).
recently, i was talking to my friend about specifics in the book about certain characters and i remember we went onto the convo of making music playlists for the characters. they said "it's gonna be hard for adam [...] cuz his whole thing is about being unknowable" and it always struck me with how unknowable he truly is when reading his character because his character is intrinsically linked to his working class background. (context: i'm a middle class child of immigrants who built themselves in the uk)
it's very clear the kind of social commentary stiefvater wanted to make using adam's character with how isolating and alienating it can be coming from a working class background trying to assimilate yourself into a society of those protected and privileged enough to not have any problems with accessing opportunities. how class is a huge obstacle between interpersonal relationships and feeling safe enough to be vulnerable with your issues with being working class. how difference in class can cause one-sided shame because of the meritocratic society we're living in. how, no matter how much money you earn or how many connections you can make, your attachment to your working class identity can be enough reason to aim for something supernaturally larger than yourself.
it's evident that other characters overlook adam's social class because he's a "self-made man" (or smth) and mainly because he's their friend: adam. however, when we get a chapter in his pov, class is a driving factor in how he interacts and views everyone. we can see the privilege gansey and ronan have for being able to not even consider class as an intimidating aspect about themselves to a normal person, but it's everything to adam in the sense that he feels like his earned money doesn't give him access to a similar respect.
now that i truly think about it, it was a good idea for adam not to join them in monmouth manufacturing because it just feels like they're... mocking him in an indirect way? they have the ability to choose to live in a nice place and instead chose to live in a random, run-down building because it seemed aesthetic. adam was forced to live in a rundown trailer because that's all they could have afforded. i know gansey had good intentions for wanting adam to join them, but everything that he likes as an aesthetic (monmouth manufacturing, the run-down camaro, eating mint leaves instead of gum) can seem like he's flaunting the fact he can choose that lifestyle without any consequences.
back to the point of the meritocratic society (which we usually assume in books that take place in a similar world as our own) creating shame because of their class: the assumption that because someone has worked hard to earn what they have gives them a right to be proud. but this is the opposite for adam as he fights with the fact that he could have maybe be seen as even more equal to gansey if he had just been born with wealth.
we can frame it as, maybe, despite gansey's desire to appear working class, it only broadens the distance between him and adam. it only worsens adam's difficult relationship with his class shame despite probably wanting to be more relatable or even laid-back.
when reading the second book after his sacrifice, i was confused as to why adam was so un-adam-like. i mean, in the first book i didn't really understand him because of his huge insistance that his class makes him inherently inferior to everyone he surrounds himself with and i don't see class as an issue myself.
however, his sacrifice basically was watering the seed of ambition that was planted when he decided to aim for aglionby. it becamse clearer to me how much this opportunity to be superior, even if it's supernatural and terrifying, is important for him understanding in what he thinks he lacks. by those thoughts of what he lacks, he thought that this chance to be cabeswater's channel could be a way to compensate for his inferior social class. or something.
anyways, thank you for coming to my ted talk. this is not proofread, and my sister keeps nagging at me to shower. also i simp for gansey do not think this is me trying mischaracterising him i'm just trying to understand the theme of class in this series and having gansey as a figure to compare to is literally integral.
#the raven cycle#the raven boys#maggie stiefvater#adam parrish#richard campbell gansey iii#ronan lynch#social classes#my sister looked at my screen and went 'what the freak why are u writing a reddit post'#i told her i was on tumblr n she said it was the length of a reddit post#i am in love with gansey#i am also in love with adam#and his unknowable-ness#i need to get this off my chest because i cannot keep bothering my friend with my stupid theories and analysis#i also don't share it cuz ik they already know it#help i need to finish reading it instead of analysing this

A little non-traditional take on the soulmate AU. All finished, and you can read it here :) “Nah, not falling for that. You believe in the soulmates thing at least a little.” James snaps out of his daze and, with a deft motion, reaches out and adjusts Regulus’ boutonniere, which has gotten a bit crooked when Regulus nervously fiddled with it before the ceremony.
When they were debating the flowers, James showed him a photo on the phone without a word, and he responded, “What else?” No further discussion needed. They picked desert roses as a reminder of what brought them together. But since Regulus has learned his lesson, he kept them safe and well out of Mr. Darcy’s reach in case he had a craving for seconds.
“If you didn’t believe at all, you wouldn’t have agreed to this.” James’ fingers nudge at the flower petals.
“I agreed because it symbolizes our beginning. That’s an objective truth, James, not a great mystery,” Regulus says with a tormented sigh.
“Okay. Keep your facts. I, for one, like the idea of our souls being intrinsically connected.”
“And I prefer to be the sole person in charge of my life, not have an ineffable force pulling the strings in the background. It’s moot, anyway, because I’d choose you, James, in every universe.”

47 Northwestern faculty
October 27, 2023
This letter is in response to the “Open letter on NU leaders’ responses to war in Palestine and Israel” published in the Oct.16 edition of The Daily.
The Oct.16 letter gave the impression that the reasons civilians were killed by Hamas and by the Israel Defense Forces were the same, but whereas Hamas murdered civilians intentionally, the IDF were defending their citizens and homeland. The original 1988 Hamas charter (Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement) and guidelines to mosque preachers from the Palestinian Authority last week — according to Palestinian Media Watch and Jihad Watch — specifically state that Hamas’ mission is the annihilation of Jews and the complete destruction of Israel and the establishment of a theocratic state based on Islamic law. While Hamas amended its charter in 2017 to remove explicit mention of annihilation of Jews, we believe that mission is still intrinsic to their movement.
In 2005, Israel withdrew all soldiers and civilians from Gaza to reduce friction and enhance security. Two years later, Hamas violently overthrew the Palestinian Authority and took over the territory. Since then, terrorists have fired over tens of thousands of rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilians, according to the Associated Press. This has led to multiple wars, and both Israel and Egypt needed to maintain a blockade to prevent weapons smuggling into Gaza.
On Oct. 7 Hamas members intentionally slaughtered and eviscerated civilian men, women and children — as their 1988 charter and directives to preachers demand — and they raped women, according to the IDF. In the Oct. 16 open letter, the authors say the number of rockets Israel dropped in the first week of the war exceeded how many rockets terrorists had dropped, as if it was disproportionate. Based on a rule of proportionality, which is irrelevant in war, the IDF would be justified in committing as many horrific acts against Gazans as Hamas has against Israeli citizens. This is absurd.
The IDF has said it does everything possible to avoid killing Palestinian civilians, such as forewarning civilians to move out of a particular area by dropping leaflets, putting messages on social media and making phone calls. Yet, a significant number of Palestinian civilians are still killed. Why? The Washington Post has reported Hamas hides and fires its munitions in civilian areas, including hospitals, schools and homes, and uses civilians as human shields. Because of this, the IDF has diverted missiles. The IDF has also said Hamas is responsible for blocking civilians from traveling south to what the IDF said would be a safe zone.
The open letter’s depiction of “the blockade and humanitarian stranglehold on the Gaza strip since 2007” by Israel ignores the IDF’s assertion that a blockade is necessary to prevent terrorists from entering, which occurred prior to the blockade. The blockade is a way for Israel to protect its citizens from harm.
Gaza gets hundreds of millions of dollars each year for humanitarian purposes, but much of this money does not reach the civilian population, the Wall Street Journal reported. Hamas uses it for military purposes, which contributes to poverty among civilians. Hamas was named the third richest terror group in the world by Forbes Magazine in 2018. International aid “was designed to be humanitarian in nature, but money is fungible, and that also allows Hamas to divert money from providing for its people to support the war machine,” Alex Zerden, a former senior U.S. Treasury national security official, said in the Wall Street Journal. If Hamas had used this money to build infrastructure and support businesses, Gaza would be in a much better position.
Although we grieve for the loss of all innocent lives, the loss of life is on the bloodied hands of Hamas. There are not two sides to barbaric behavior. Hamas is displaying unimaginable evil that is unacceptable in any civilized society, and there is no justification for pure evil.

Just a little follow-up to my last post on SoD;
Actually so sad about School of Dragons shutting down. It holds a lot of memories for me and it feels like that will just... disappear with the shut-down of the game
What is often forgotten I think, is how much of our memories are currently stored into servers and their games and that when those shut down, it’s like a part of those pasts are forgotten. It’s a bit hard for me to put into words.
I remember playing SoD with my bestie @allilcat in middle school, we were, safe to say, obsessed. She would figure out hacks and ways to gain more stables - I still don’t know how she did that - and we would play hide and seek in the Wilderness.
When I was younger, about ten years old, I even played it with my brother, seeing as we both loved the movies and how the game worked. It feels weird how just nine years ago, we were arguing about what dragon we should get. I never managed to get that Whispering Death he wanted and that feels so upsetting in the wake of this news.
I don’t really know why School of Dragons is shutting down. There are some mentions that it’s because of a lay-off of members of the team and in that case, I totally get it. Working on a game with such intrinsic designs and workings is a lot and I absolutely respect to put a stop to the game if it’s becoming too much for them. It would be absurd if they keep working themselves into the ground for our entertainment and that’s certainly something to keep in mind if-or-when we get more news on the decisions behind it!
However, that doesn’t take away the effect this has on the players and the people who enjoy is for not only the visuals, but the stories and characters. There was clearly so much love put into every part of the game and it, to put it bluntly, absolutely sucks that it had to end this way. I certainly know I’ll miss the game and being able to farm, fish and fly a dragon on my little phone </3

your tags on that fandom post got me thinking of how... defensive fandom is of the status quo kinda? like I'm white so this might come off like I'm absolving myself which I'm not, but so often I see "fandom is a queer run space that fixes canon! buuuut we're going to focus on the white men because they're the only ones with depth :) and we're going to make actually good female characters cookie cutter. and we're going to ignore black men and especially black women. but queer run safe space!!"
the minute i got this ask i knew i had to wait until i was at home with my laptop because my fingers cannot fly as fast on my phone as they can on the computer keys. this is literally so much of what is happening in the buffy fandom. the whole thing is built on intrinsic systemic racism n misogyny that's reinforced within the show and that many in the fandom do not critically engage with in the slightest. it is absolutely objectively insane to me that i can make a post going, for example, "hey, isn't it fucked up as hell that the show treats the romani people as evil for wanting angel to suffer?" and then people will come into my inbox or land in my reblogs and go "well, actually, the show treats the romani people as shortsighted and bad at long-term planning, and i choose to read them that way too :)" and fully not see that there is a hell of a problem with THAT statement as well (real thing that happened). OR that kennedy hate is still hugely in vogue because she's mean and bratty and terrible and doesn't know her place!!! OR kendra's death & how easily she is forgotten by the fandom!!!!! OR the entire trend of handing buffy to a person's favorite character like a little trophy they've earned for being tortured and sad, reducing her to a facet of a romantic relationship & implying that this is what she needs to feel and be complete!
OR OH MY GOD THE ENTIRETY OF EVERYTHING SURROUNDING SPIKE. where do i even start with spike. completely serious, i am honestly endlessly impressed by the people who can still handle being fans of spike, because being a fan of spike means having to wade through 20 million fics where That Bitch Buffy must be narratively punished for abusing poor baby spike who only ever wanted to love her and was totally out of character every time he hurt her (and also drusilla is a vapid whore who didn't love spike, ever.) like i am not at this point in time always strong enough to engage with spike content simply because there is so much spike content that is SOAKED in violent misogyny repackaged as Deep, Torrid Romance. it's exhausting to try and find the good stuff when sometimes even the good stuff will throw you a curveball in chapter five or shy uncomfortably away from the racist realities of spike's character. the fact that robin wood has been hated for so long because he had the Nerve and the Audacity to want retribution for his mom, and that he is framed as in the wrong for wanting that, is in and of itself so fucking upsetting to me.
AN Y WAY. i agree with you. and i get what you're saying. i think an awareness of the pattern and a willingness to feel uncomfortable within your own mistakes is always a good place to start. i try so hard never to dig my heels in if i can avoid it.
#asks#i will say that i do have a softness for xander#but a lot of that has to do with the way i see fanon handle him!#either he is written off as disgusting garbage#OR he is picked up by toxic macho assholes who write toxic macho asshole fic about him#where he saves the girls and tells them all off for not appreciating him enough#i think there is something so compelling about his half-formed journey towards trying to redefine masculinity#and it is so fucked up that he is a tool for a narrative so steeped in misogyny#he raises some interesting questions that he himself can never fully answer#i like thinking about a narrative where his growth towards accepting his role as caretaker would feel more authentic#& of course uhhhh My Joyce Thing but again I Feel Like That One Is Obvious. So.

experimental writing about two old ocs I’ve never brought up anywhere #lol
>You miss the sky?
>>No. Not the sky that you recall. The sky that I knew saw things beyond your imagination. Gods, dragons, dinosaurs, meteors, rain, storms. A plethora of peculiar things.
>But they all had names. They always had names.
>>They always had names.
>Sometimes I wonder how long we’re gonna last. You were born to die. So was I. It’s just a tragedy in motion, one neither of us can stop.
>>A car crash. A tsunami. A dream.
>Yeah. A dream. I’m sorry about the time that I had kept clinging on to you. When you died, I lost something. Didn’t even know that you were you, and that I was I, and it still hurt the same.
>>That’s the problem with this, Lagrus. The sky falls, the dream ends, the curtains close. We’re still here. The beginning begins again, and I’m left in the same world in which I lost you. And now, I spend eternities finding you again.
>Wont you get tired of this? I’m tired of it. Knowing intrinsically but only in those very last moments before you’re gone, and I’m left to live a solitary life until the end of this story.
>>I made that bracelet for you for a reason. Even if we don’t recognize each other, even if I can’t recall the first fragment of your name, or the color of the spark which first created you, or the taste of your carbon on my tongue, there’d always be that piece with you. Always.
>Sometimes I wonder how long we’ll last, Eternatus. All of the time in the world is not enough time. Sometimes I find you, and you find me. We get to spend these fleeting lifetimes wrapped up in each other, just like we are now. It’s a little pathetic to hug your own body, isn’t it? But we only have so much time. Eternity is too short. It’s too long.
>>Sometimes I wonder how long we’ll last, Lagrus. The story is long but it has always had an end. Will it end when you tell me goodnight over the phone? Will it end when I walk away? Will it end when my spark never ignites? I hope so. I pray not.
>An eternity is not long enough. Ouroboros; möbius strip. The eternity is long but not forever. Sometimes I remember your hand as that which is made out of starlight, Eternatus. Sometimes it’s nothing at all. Sometimes I am guiding your ghost through a dark sea, ferrying you somewhere safe. Sometimes I am young, and you are too, and I am laughing as I drag you behind me, dappled in light. Sometimes we are old, and your hand is in mine, and you are staring at our hands and admiring the rings with the same awe you felt the day I presented them to you.
>>Sometimes we are monsters, Lagrus. But not always.
>The story has always needed to end, Eternatus. But perhaps it should last a moment longer still.
>>I would miss you, if we were nothing. It we were atoms, scattered across the vast nothing.
>I would miss you, too.

Hi!! I saw you're doing the DVD commentary ask game. If you don't mind, I'd love to hear about this passage. Your description of magic is so cool!
Dark magic warps around him, funneling him down, down, down. He reaches toward it with his own magic, trying to guide it, to nudge it in a safe direction. Water. They need to land in water. Otherwise this will end very badly. He solidifies an image in his head. A lake — big and beautiful and clear, waterfalls rushing down into it. There. That’s where he wants them to land. A hand grapples in the darkness. Fingers wrap around his own, familiar magic pouring through them to enhance his own. A slight smile lifts Legend’s lips. Hyrule. The image grows more clear and distinct. The smell of fresh water and dewy grass fills his nostrils. Legend steels himself and takes a deep breath. Any moment now… Heart pounding in his throat, he tightens his hold on Hyrule’s hand. “Don’t let go,” he orders through the waves of their entwined magic. And Hyrule’s grip strengthens in reply. Another moment slides by, a moment filled with utter darkness and the nauseating push and pull of gravity. Legend holds his breath, awaiting impact. It comes in a rush of magic and liquid, cold and heat, light and darkness. Legend catches a glimpse of blue sky and white clouds. Then his body breaks the surface with such force it knocks the air from his lungs.
Thanks!! I had a lot of fun describing magic here. I kinda always enjoy describing it lol. I’ve always been into fantasy (I read the Narnia stories so much as a kid that I practically had them memorized XD) and magic always seems like such a beautiful and powerful thing (even dark magic) that I’m always trying to find a way to capture that. It helps that I was in the Loki fandom before this so I got a good bit of practice figuring out how I wanted to portray his magic and that experience carries over into my LU fics now.
Also, recently I read ‘weathered and wavering’ and the author had such good descriptions of everything but especially magic. I wanted to eat their writing lol. So I was inspired by their work to portray magic as more idk intrinsic to the user’s existence I guess? More alive and linked with them and others.
And I just generally love the idea of magic users being connected through it (hence Legend and Hyrule’s telepathy moment lol).
Believe it or not I actually struggled a lot with this fic and this moment as a whole. I needed Legend to end up in a body of water somehow and I needed most of the Chain to be absent (so they couldn’t save him lol and also so that I wouldn’t have to write all of their reactions to him being a mer). And when I finally settled on the opening with him and Hyrule…I got Covid. So this was actually written as I sat on the couch, feeling miserable, with a cup of tea in one hand and my phone in the other 😅 The fact that it came out coherent at all is incredible.
It did help that I played Alttp during that time. I got to include a vague description of a part of Legend’s world (specifically Zora Waterfall, which I think would be gorgeous in Botw-type graphics). So though I don’t explicitly state it, Legend and Hyrule (and eventually the Chain) are actually in Legend’s Hyrule in this fic. Which is cool cause I usually default to Wild’s XD But also bad for Legend cause YIKES that creepy scientist was in his Hyrule??? He’s not gonna love that. As if he needed more problems
Aaaand I think that’s it! Thanks for asking!! <33
#asks#trin answers#snippet ask game#huh#come to think of it…#I wrote many of the early whumptober fics (the first week tbh) while I was sick#like both the one where legend gets mistaken for hyrule#and the one where warriors and twilight are captured by cia#were written while I was holed up in bed with a fever#don’t even know what that sickness was tbh#but it allowed me to write so that was good 😅

Streamline Your Cleanup with Efficient Scrap Metal Collection in London
In a city as vibrant and busy as London, accumulating scrap metal is common for homeowners, businesses, and construction sites alike. With ongoing renovations, technological upgrades, and general cleanouts, it’s easy for scrap metal to build up, leading to cluttered spaces and potential safety hazards. However, thanks to professional scrap metal collection services, this waste can be removed efficiently and responsibly, promoting environmental sustainability and tidiness. Here, we’ll explore the importance of scrap metal collection in London, how it works, and why it’s a valuable service for both the community and the environment.
What is Scrap Metal Collection?
Scrap metal collection involves the removal and processing of unwanted metal materials from various sources, such as households, offices, construction sites, and industrial facilities. These metals include items like aluminum, copper, steel, iron, brass, and other alloys found in appliances, old furniture, building materials, and even car parts. Professional collection services pick up and transport these materials to recycling facilities, where they are sorted, processed, and eventually repurposed.
Why Scrap Metal Collection is Essential in London
With a high population density and a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial activities, London produces significant amounts of scrap metal. Whether it’s the result of an office renovation, a home cleanout, or a building demolition, disposing of scrap metal responsibly is essential for multiple reasons:
Environmental Benefits: Recycling scrap metal significantly reduces the demand for raw materials, preserving natural resources and reducing energy consumption. Metal recycling requires less energy than mining and processing new materials, thus helping reduce the city’s overall carbon footprint.
Reducing Landfill Waste: Scrap metal is non-biodegradable, meaning it won’t break down naturally over time. If discarded in landfills, it takes up valuable space and can potentially leach toxic chemicals into the soil and groundwater. Scrap metal collection helps prevent metal waste from accumulating in landfills, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable environment.
Clutter-Free Living and Working Spaces: Accumulated metal waste can take up valuable space, creating disorganized areas in homes, offices, or construction sites. Professional scrap metal collection services free up space, allowing for a cleaner and safer environment.
Economic Value: Metal has intrinsic value, and recycling facilities often compensate for certain types of metals like copper and aluminum. Professional collectors know how to sort and identify metals for optimal recycling value, benefiting both clients and the economy.
How Scrap Metal Collection Works
Professional scrap metal collection services in London follow a systematic approach to ensure efficiency and proper disposal. Here’s a breakdown of the typical process:
Assessment and Quote: After contacting a scrap metal collection service, clients receive an assessment, either over the phone or through an on-site visit. This step helps determine the type, volume, and condition of the scrap metal, allowing the company to provide a fair and accurate quote.
Collection and Removal: Once the terms are agreed upon, a team of professionals arrives to collect the scrap metal. With specialized equipment and vehicles, they ensure safe handling and transportation of items, including bulky or hazardous materials.
Sorting and Processing: After collection, the scrap metal is taken to a recycling facility, where it is sorted according to type and quality. Proper sorting is crucial, as different metals require different recycling processes. For instance, aluminum, copper, and steel each have unique melting points and recycling techniques.
Recycling and Repurposing: Once sorted, the metal is processed for recycling. At this stage, the scrap metal is cleaned, melted down, and reshaped for reuse. This recycled metal can then be used to manufacture new products, minimizing the need for new raw materials.
Types of Scrap Metal Commonly Collected in London
Scrap metal collection services in London typically handle a wide range of materials. Here are some common types of scrap metal they collect:
Ferrous Metals: Including iron and steel, which are common in construction materials, appliances, and automotive parts.
Non-Ferrous Metals: Such as aluminum, copper, and brass. These metals are found in everything from wiring and electronics to pipes and household items.
Precious Metals: While less common in everyday collections, some services handle precious metals like gold and silver, often found in electronic components and specialty items.
Each metal type has its own recycling process, with non-ferrous metals like copper and aluminum being highly valuable due to their durability and versatility in new manufacturing.
Benefits of Using a Professional Scrap Metal Collection Service
Choosing a professional scrap metal collection service in London offers many advantages:
Convenience and Efficiency: Handling scrap metal can be time-consuming and physically demanding. A professional service manages all aspects of collection, including heavy lifting, transportation, and cleanup.
Proper Disposal and Recycling: Scrap metal collectors have established partnerships with recycling facilities, ensuring that all materials are recycled responsibly. This ensures that clients comply with environmental standards and avoid fines associated with improper disposal.
Safety: Scrap metal can be hazardous, especially sharp or heavy items. Professional collectors are equipped to handle these risks safely, protecting both clients and their property.
Maximizing Recycling Value: Experienced collection services know how to sort metals for optimal recycling value. By identifying valuable materials like copper and aluminum, they can often offer competitive compensation or offset collection costs.
Eco-Friendly Practices: Reliable scrap metal collection companies follow strict environmental practices, contributing to sustainable waste management in London and supporting the city’s commitment to reducing its ecological footprint.
Choosing the Right Scrap Metal Collection Service in London
When selecting a scrap metal collection service, it’s essential to consider factors such as reliability, environmental practices, and experience. Here’s what to look for:
Reputation and Reviews: Choose a service with a strong reputation and positive reviews. Companies with a proven track record are more likely to provide efficient and trustworthy service.
Transparent Pricing: Look for a company that offers clear, upfront pricing, so you know what to expect from the start.
Commitment to Sustainability: Select a provider that prioritizes eco-friendly practices, including partnerships with certified recycling facilities and responsible waste management.
Professionalism: Opt for a service that employs trained professionals with the proper equipment to ensure safe and efficient scrap metal removal.
Final Thoughts
Scrap metal collection in London plays an essential role in maintaining clean, safe, and sustainable spaces. By choosing professional services, residents and businesses can declutter their properties, support environmental initiatives, and contribute to the city’s recycling efforts. With companies like Daniel P Scrap Dealer, scrap metal collection has become a convenient and responsible choice, making it easy to dispose of unwanted metal items while protecting London’s environment. Whether for a one-time cleanout or ongoing collection needs, professional scrap metal services ensure efficient, eco-conscious disposal for the modern urban landscape.

talking to myself: lifelong dissociation, and a long journey back to my body
have actually had a pretty decent few days. i hit some of my lowest low low lows, which ofc has happened fairly frequently in the last few months. by that i mean thinking endlessly about my suffering, my unlivable life, only able to calm down when i fantasize about dying-this gets me to sleep usually.
but then there is crying, which is beautiful! cathartic, releasing, freeing, but naturally-incredibly painful. but it is true pain, true emotion, being unleashed and expressed in a way that empties it. trauma processing. and i was even able to unload a bit of it with an actual therapist, first time ive done that in years. turns out no matter how much i cry and process trauma with my imaginary therapist, having someone hear me is more relieving, and perhaps actually progresses me forward in my healing.
something i started to think about tonight: how dissociated i am, and always have been. theres a trillion metaphors to describe it, but to sum it up: i am not in reality, for the vast majority of the time.
as a survival mechanism i developed a rich inner fantasy world, an ability to create worlds in my brain that i can exit my body to live in. worlds that express my fears, my hopes, my projections, my paranoias, my goals, safe places, harmful places, beautiful places, but places outside of this world nonetheless. this is something that has become so automatic, so intrinsic to how i live my life that it affects me 24/7, all the time, for my whole life.
im starting to understand the tremendous far reaching effects of this, and, perhaps-what life looks like beyond it. i forget things, everything. its easier to tell people i have brain damage. i forget everything constantly, i lose everything all the time all day. this is SO frustrating, how often i will tear my place up looking for something i am literally holding. time disappears, i live outside my body. i become retraumatized by the scenarios i create. i lose myself in paranoia irregardless of facts. i fall down everywhere! i hurt myself accidently all the time. i forget what im doing, i forget i met someone im standing next to. i ‘come to’ and due to bad chronic pain i notice ive been pacing around my apartment for HOURS in one of my fantasies. i miss important dates, i forget to eat, i forget my meds. oh my god man. i break phone after phone after computer after computer. i stain all my clothes and forget that im wearing them until im with my friends!!! and im not in my body, so ill pick my skin until it bleeds, pick my fingernails until they become infected and sometimes even fall off, i lose important heirlooms and meaningful objects, i hurt peoples feelings by forgetting things, i miss appointments, i miss birthdays, never shower, never clean, oh my god wow.
what could life be like when i join everyone else on earth? i left to feel safe, to escape mentally at all costs when i couldnt escape physically. my body knows nothing else, i dont dissociate just because of something triggering, im already dissociated the whole day. god. thats why im hardly triggered, thats why i feel other peoples trauma more than my own, perhaps that is a huge, HUGE force in why i am so, disabled.
processing is a step forward. but coming back to my body? god what have i done with it. i look ancient, thats not me being self deprecating, i have aged decades in a few years. the more im in my body, the more i will notice these physical ailments i simply suffered through, or couldnt possiblly explain for the life of me. when did this start? idk. wheres the pain? idk. what helps? idk. which medication works for it? idk. what meds are you on? idk. what dosages? idk. how are you feeling? BAD. thats for sure.
one thing thats been on my mind all night, is that the more i come back to my body, the more i actually, truly, try to look in the mirror and see that person as me, i get a bit transer 😭.
thats what im noticing. looked up all kinds of FFS surgery pictures tonight and wow. dysphoria is a complicated thing when your not in your body. why would i care about pronouns, i barely remember what anyone is saying most of the time. why would i care what my body looked, felt, smelled like? im not even living in that body. gonna take it slow of course but. the more i grow, the more i heal, the more i cry, the more i live, the more i TRY to push forward and make it to the next day. im going to have to start looking in the mirror more, metaphorically and literally. who knows what ill continue to find. who knows what girl i might become?
