as skrmetti continues to be argued and decided on, please don’t forget about intersex people! the fuckers saying that kids shouldn’t be “forcibly transitioned” and trying to ban life saving medical care wouldn’t give a shit if (and when) intersex youth are forced to take hormones or undergo surgery without their consent. intersex people may or may not be trans or identify as queer but trans and intersex liberation are intertwined, everyone deserves the right to make choices about their body and have those honored and respected, and as perisex trans people we must be listening to and speaking up for our intersex siblings!!

Deleted bc I don't want anyone to think it's ok to lie about being intersex when you are not, it's insensitive wrong & contributes towards intersex erasure. Intersex liberation now

In case anyone needs a reminder…
Being transgender does not make you intersex.
Going through HRT does not make you intersex. Surgery cannot make you intersex.
Intersex people are born with atypical variations of physical, biological sex characteristics. That is what makes someone intersex.
Perisex trans people (especially on Reddit) have been recently insisting that just being transgender makes you intersex, and therefore able to speak over intersex people on issues that specifically affect us, especially when it comes to dangerous and offensive terminology. This is not true.
Also the idea that you can somehow “make yourself intersex” is untrue. You can make your body more androgynous through things like hormone treatment and surgery, but that does not make you intersex.
Falsely claiming intersex identity based on these things isn’t *always* malicious (though it is often done to speak over us) but it is always harmful.

These people deserve to live without the fear of violence and be authentically and unapologetically themselves - queer. However, they face constant discrimination, persecution, food insecurity and homelessness.
Ashley and a group of her friends wanted to have a nice little celebration on Christmas holidays or New Year (depending on the donation amounts), what they got by the end of the year 2024 was a complete destruction of their only homes (tents in a refugee camp), a violent beating on every LGBTQIA individual the attackers laid eyes on, robbed possessions and wiped out food storage they had.
They are still not rehabilitated from the attack, I kindly ask you to help them to get back on their feet, rebuilding shelter all while struggling with different health issues, starvation and lack of clean water.
SITUATION UPDATE FOR THE LGBTIQ REFUGEES
Hey world, we’re back in the reception camp after a brutal attack by the homophobic community. After weeks of sleeping at the nearby police station, we are forced to start from scratch again. The fight for survival continues, but so does our resilience. Please stand with us and help amplify our voices.❤️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🙏

i really want to emphasize the fact that many of these recent bills aimed at denying trans minors gender-affirming care have special exceptions built in to allow for nonessential surgeries on intersex children. they want to make sure doctors can continue pressuring parents into putting their intersex kids through procedures that have no evidence of benefits and are well known to cause harm (cw on these articles for discussions of intersex medical abuse/trauma).
these bills are not designed to protect children, they're designed to eradicate sex and gender diversity. they want to force both trans and intersex people into their binary little boxes and it will do immense harm to both groups.

Hi, y’all, in the coming years it is more important than EVER that we have a strong queer community.
What we ARENT gonna be doing, is forming separatist movements, or rekindling old ones, or dogpiling each other over who “gets the right to speak” about their own oppression. We ARENT gonna be throwing the most “unpalatable” queers under the bus to try to appeal to cis/het/allo people. We ARENT gonna be abandoning our trans and nonbinary siblings. We ARENT gonna be abandoning our intersex siblings, and we A R E going to be INCLUDING them in our activism. Respectability politics gets us nowhere. Infighting gets us nowhere. Separatism gets us NOWHERE. Shape tf up y’all

Okai intersex community, peer review me.
I'm putting this out there cause I wanted to acquire some perspective from intersex peeps.
For context, I am part of a transmasc/masc aligned trans group and we're going to be marching in manchester pride this august.
Would it be appropriate if I, a perisex trans man, to carry a sign that highlights our need to include intersex people in trans liberation?
Open for anyone to response (except you terfs, disrespectfully fuck off)

Meet Ashley Miles @ashleymilesphil , queer refugees representative in East Africa who has fled persecution in a search for safety. She does her best to bring global awareness to their issues and i’m asking you all to help her out in spreading her fundraiser. Check out her blog, share her posts and donate if you can❤️
Currently Ashley and over 300 LGBTQ+ refugees live in Gorom camp in South Sudan.
Every day they are fighting for their lives, facing starvation, difficult weather conditions, for example, rain damage to their belongings and food, homophobia and transphobia related assault and discrimination.
Ashley and her LGBTQ+ community need to stock up on food and other necessities before the suppliers tents close for the holidays. Please help them out before Christmas!

anti-transness and intersexism are inseparable from each other
maybe what i have to say will sound like intersectionality 101, but i feel like i need to put this in words.
anti-transness and intersexism are closely intertwined with each other, support each other, and are upheld by the same constructs like patriarchy, sex binary, gender binary, cisnormativity, perisexism (assumption that everyone is perisex), etc.
they intersect and intertwin with other discriminations and are upheld by other oppressive systems, too. this is what intersectionality is about. but today, i want to talk about intersexism and anti-transness.
they can't exist without each other. and they can't be destroyed separately. because if it's normal for the body to be intersex, if it's normal to have different features than is expected from your assigned and/or perceived sex and gender, then there's only a couple of steps to the idea that body doesn't define gender and people with same gender can have different bodies. if it's normal to have a different gender than is expected or assigned to you and (optionally) change your body, then it's okay to be born with/spontaneously acquire the non-typical sex traits. (maybe kinda tangled, but i can't word it better).
and vise versa. there can't be true trans liberation without intersex liberation. there can't be true intersex liberation without trans liberation.
both of us are living threats to the patriarchy (because it's based on the assumption that men(tm) and women(tm) are different species that can never have something in common and, what a horror, transform into each other). both of us are living threats to the gender binary and sex binary because one becomes pointless without another.
so they have to fight with both of us, even at the cost of inconsistency (making in anti-trans laws exceptions for the possibility to medically coerce intersex people into binary expectations).
so we, on our side, have to fight together to dismantle systems that harm all of us. we have to listen to each other. we have to stand for each other.
because, while true trans liberation and true intersex liberation are impossible separately, we have to make efforts to fight with both oppressions. otherwise, our tries will be way less effective at best and counterproductive at worst. and we end at the same place, where no one of us is free.
trans & intersex solidarity is necessary.

correct me if i’m wrong, but a lot of intersex people are some of the best examples of gender identity. they’re born with parts that correlate with both sexes, yet a lot of intersex people choose to identify as male or female during their life. their gender identity doesn’t always perfectly match their biology, but we accept them as women/men nonetheless. and of course there are also intersex people who might identify with neither male/female, and that’s okay too.
(sincerely, a cis woman who’s been studying gender theory lately because i was inspired by my MTF friend!)
