The 2012 Hamato Clan in their 20s

I got this idea from someone on discord. I thought it was so cool I had to give it a try!

Now that his brothers are less likely to accidentally kill themselves and Earth is at peace, Leo’s enjoying not being the parent for once, though he often still slips into his role as head of the family and mediator of chaos. He’s kinda given up on love and as accepted is role as “Cool, but also very dorky uncle.” I imagine he’s a lot like Iroh.

Raph has gone full Dad. Mona help’s him raise Chompy and I’d imagine that they adopted more weird alien/mutant kids as time goes on. Him and Leo still spar all the time to stay fit and go on crime busting adventures together with Casey. Raph travels back and forth between Earth and Salamandria every year so Mona can visit her family, and so Mona can show him her home.

Donnie has leaned into his “mad scientist” persona and has used the internet to release he’s discoveries about mutagen, the Kraang, the Triceratons, and everything else. He teaches science online for extra cash and builds his wildest dreams into existence. He too has kind of given up on love, being burned out by his self inflicted drama with April. Though little does he know one of his female students has a crush on him (even though she’s never seen his face) and is attempting to track him down.

Mikey hasn’t grown up, and never will. He still skateboards in the lair, and plays Mazes and Mutants with Ice Cream Kitty. Donnie introduced him to online gaming and he loves it. He’s got a team of other gamer friends (including Mondo Gecko) who he talks/plays with almost every night. He’s still to this day trying to convince everyone that Pizza Milkshake isn’t that bad even though Murakami-San told him that “some things are just not meant to be.”

April has gone to college to be a bioengineer as a pursuit of her passions in science. Casey plays for the professional hockey team that plays at April’s college. He was offered more money on a different team, but he would’ve had to move out of New York, so he stayed and after a few months, proposed to April. She said yes.

Karai is still the leader of the Foot Clan alongside her best friend Shinnigami. She hangs out with the Hamato clan all the time, usually coming over for dinner. Every six months, however she has to go back to Tokyo to manage the Foot Clan in Japan. Everyone is always happy when she finally comes back and they throw a party.

— rise!leonardo hamato finding a borrower / tiny !!

✧ — pre-meeting

★ — First off, this dude. this dude would suspect that something's off in the lair after noticing that his brothers stuff have recently been going missing and such. Maybe at first, he wouldn't think much of it. Maybe he just believed that his brothers were just misplacing their stuff and just teased them 'bout it for a while. That would later on lead to his brothers accusing the red eared slider of stealing their stuff as a way to fuck with them- which Leonardo denies, being a bit dramatic about it as well..

★ — That is though, until his stuff- or parts of them at least, begun mysteriously disappearing and getting misplaced. Y'know, parts of his comics being ripped off- action figures being either knocked over or shuffled a little to the side. Stuff like that.

★ — At first, he'll accuse his brothers of taking and damaging his items as a form of 'revenge', but just like him- they all were pretty fumkin confused as to what he was talking about. While he was skeptical about idea of anyone else snatching his equipment, other than his brothers that is, he couldn't help but shimmer that 'oh, something is wrong'.

★ — And from there, he'll start getting more observant with his surroundings. Listening in for any odd sounds or looking around sharply to find out what or- in the worst case scenario- who is messing around in the lair. And during that period of time, he'll pick up on shuffling noises, notice odd messes and prints on counter tops- heck even see the running silhouette of a little.. something, from the corner of his eye.

★ — The logical part of him says that it's just a rat that found it self in the lair, but rats don't tear paper - or leave behind.. tiny- human like hand prints ?? Yea, that pretty much sums it up. Something is in the lair.

★— Also insert a scene where Leo shares his suspicions and conspiracies about something living with them in the lair with his fam, and they all think he's either lost it, messing with them, or that he is not getting enough sleep just to make the next part make sense or something somethin - explodes.

✧ — meeting

★ — Upon finding the borrower, erm. A mixed bag of emotions honestly. While he may triumph and feel all smug about being proven right about another presence being in the lair, he is also baffled about their existence. Like, a tiny human, yokai- whatever in the lair ?? wowza. That's erhh.. a bit weird to think about, yet also a little cool ?? Yet the, fact that this little creature has stolen from his family- from him, gets him to come off as a little petty towards the borrower.

★ — So yea, I'm stuck in between of whether Leo would be salty towards them, holding a grudge about them stealing. while being stealthy with his approach as to catch them off guard, or get all smug and be obnoxious about being on the right.

★ — I like to think that he would greet the borrower with a little remark, a teasing one as he looks down at them with a small, shit-eating grin. However, I don't doubt that he would be curious about them- and honestly a little impressed by them. They've been living in the lair with five ninja-mutants for- how long ?? And they just now got noticed ?? Respecttt.. kinda.

★ — Would definitely portal them right in front of him if they try to run away, not being very mindful to the borrower's rather vulnerable form. No, he'll just make a portal appear- let them fall through and watch as they plop back onto the counter top. He would also prop them up by their arm or something, and again, he may not be as gentle as he should with them, either because he doesn't realise it or because he just wants to mess with- or to just get back at them for stealing from him.

★ — That would also be followed by a small series of questions- like an interrogation, an almost condescending one at that. He would blame them for his fam's missing equipment, and address the fact that due to their thieving antics, he was accused for theft by his own brothers !! Yea, he would be all dramatic and salty about it, which could either be comical, or intimidating to the little borrower.

★ — Though, in spite of his salty, almost obnoxious behaviour towards them- he would get a bit more curious about them after learning that them 'thieving', is actually the only way for them to survive.

★ — He may feel further impressed by their commitment and struggle they have to go through to get access to basic everyday material- even if it's limited. And while part of him just wants to present his victory in the whole 'someone-is-in-the-lair: dilemma, to rub it in his bros faces, the borrower's rather afraid look on their face is convincing him otherwise. Plus, he would then have to live with the responsibility of potentially scarring this little guy sooo..

★ — Still, Leonardo isn't one to let go of grudges easily- and though the little thing has earned some of his respect (as well as amazement), he still takes the liberty to toy and mess with them- making up little nicknames for them such as 'little kleptomaniac', giving them little prods here and there, making a few height-difference puns when they are around. erh yea. stuff like that.

superhero donatello having electric powers is perfect with his tech and all, but in Reality Check, season 3 ep 19 of 2003, we get this character in orange - cause lightning and all i get it. but there is so much blue lightning in anime that we could have definately had a purple super suit for donnie. just saying.

i think they wanted us to be puzzled over who was who in that universe - if they were anything similar to the turtles we know and love - but with their voice actors the same it was pretty obvious to moi.

i like the idea of that Donnie's suit maybe being made or designed by the Mikey of that universe, hence the orange, but i also like the idea that purple is Donnie's colour and that trancends the universes.

Unity laisse échapper un soupire long alors qu'elle est seule dans une petite pièce qui ressemble a une chambre a coucher. Un matelas au sol plutôt propre avec des draps couleur saumon aussi propre. une petite boite en bois qui fait office de table de lit avec une vieille petite lampe de chevet. Étonnant quand on sait où elle se trouve. Dans le repaire de la famille Hamato, les égouts plus précisément.

On lui a préparé spécialement cette petite couche pour qu'elle puisse dormir correctement et cela se voit. C'est plus propre que ce qu'elle avait pu imaginer avant d'y être. La jeune femme fait quelques pas en avant, regarde autour d'elle. Il y a des tags aux murs, mais pas ceux grossiers trouvés dans les rues que les tagueurs utilisés pour marquer leur présence contre un mur, mais des dessins vraiment artistiques. De beaux motifs qui semblent exprimer plus qu'une simple signature. Ça change encore de l'idée qu'elle se faisait d'un mur d'égouts. Puis l'odeur, il n'y en a pas. Pas d'odeur de fosse septique qui remonte a ses narines, pas d'odeur de putréfaction quelconque ou d'eau croupie là depuis des mois. L'air est bon.

- C'est propre.

Alors qu'elle zone, sa mémoire retrace la journée qu'elle vient de vivre.

Se faire remarquer par le fils au bandeau bleu Hamato était facile, elle avait le panel parfait pour attirer son attention. Une Yokai licorne. Il était donc simple d'amorcer un premier contact. Mais elle n'avait pas pensé qu'il n'allait pas juste aller lui parler mais complètement la kidnapper en lui laissant a peine le temps de dire "bonjour". Et peu importe si elle avait des protestations, la tortue avait déjà décider de la ramener a peine avait-elle posé les yeux sur lui. En y repensant, si elle n'avait pas accepté de rester pour que la famille fasse pardonner le geste de leur frère, on aurait pu croire a une prise d'otage. Mais même si elle était devenue une otage, le but était d'arriver ici, et elle avait réussi. Il faut juste qu'elle retienne ce nom d'emprunt qu'elle s'est donné : "Unity". Étonnant qu'ils n'aient pas réagi à un nom aussi singulier.

Dans sa pose, son téléphone sonne. Un petit appareil à clapet violet lavande avec un porte-clé en forme d'atome. Vieux, usé et quelque peu rayé.

-Oui... Oui je suis bien arrivée. Bien sûr.

-Je suis impressionnée de te voir réussir aussi facilement alors que mes autres petits laqués n'avaient même pas pu suivre l'un d'eux.

-Que voulez-vous Madame, je... suis juste meilleure qu'eux. Répond Unity avec un ton sans joie ni même fierté.

-Ah ah ah! Bien sûr! C'est certain maintenant que je te vois en action. je ne regrette plus du tout mon choix. Peut être l'un des plus judicieux depuis longtemps. Je compte beaucoup sur toi à présent~

Malgré les mots doux et mielleux, la Yokai a une petite grimace devant cette fausse confiance que lui donne la personne à l'autre bout du fil.

-Bien sur. Je vous les amènerais sur un plateau d'argent, soyez en sûr. Juste le temps de gagner leur confiance et de les sédater.

-Efficace. Mais, il semblerait que je n'ai pas pu suivre ton signal une fois passée une certaine zone, large. As-tu une explication ?

Unity fait silence, se remémore la journée, les détails. Les quelques objets qu'il l'entouraient sur sa route avant de passer par ce portail bleu.

-Je pense, que le traceur a été brouillé par un boîte noire.

-Oh! Ce doit être le fait de cette jeune tortue violette.

-Donatello Hamato?

-Oui c'est bien lui. Gagne sa confiance et trouve le moyen de désactiver son brouilleur. C'est ta mission première.

Gagner la confiance de quelqu'un. Quelque chose qui la fait déglutir d'anticipation. Est-ce qu'elle va y arriver? Est-ce possible ? Même s'ils ont l'air ouverts dans cette famille et... Généreux, celui au bandeau violet lui semble bien plus fermé. Son rythme cardiaque s'intensifie alors qu'elle réfléchit a comment faire alors qu'elle est toujours au téléphone avec sa commanditaire.

-.... Me suis-je bien faite comprendre ?

-O-Oui Madame.

-D'ici là, je te permet un budget illimité, carte blanche pour que la mission réussi et si tu as besoin de quoi que ce soit. Mais j'attendrai des résultats. Je les veux tous face à moi, y compris Lou jitsu, et complètement a ma merci, annonce froidement la voix de l'interlocutrice à travers le téléphone. Faisant grincer des dents la Yokai licorne.

Unity déglutit, et raccroche une fois la discussion close par sa patronne. Elle fixe son téléphone, puis regarde le matelas et jette d'un geste ample son appareil sur le lit avant de retirer son poncho et de se poser sur le lit a son tour. Un long soupire quitte ses lèvres, une pression disparaît avec, mais une autre persiste. Une grosse tension sur ses épaules, une épée de Damoclès.

Je ne veux pas y retourner, je ne veux pas y retourner. Je dois y arriver. Si ça marche, alors je pourrai enfin...

Soupire. Elle s'affale sur le lit, les bras tendu et regarde le plafond. Le sommeil ne devrait pas tarder à la prendre, pourtant quelque chose la dérange. Le manque de bruit. Elle a l'habitude a d'un brouhaha constant autour d'elle, des gens qui parlent, qui crient, qui se battent. C'est trop calme pour elle.

....

Demain, je commencerai par celui au bandeau orange. Il semble plus simplet que les autres. Je dois en profiter.

C'est demain que tout commence.

Speaking of words, I was also wondering if I might try my hand at a request? I was thinking specifically for Rise Raph or Leo but I’m always down for artistic free rein so do where ever the creativity flows.

But AnYhOo, I was wondering how the boys would respond to a friend who was confident in their love language of words of affirmation? Like without thinking, drops the most heartfelt and specific compliments or “I’m grateful I have you in my life” kind of stuff at the drop of a hat? I think it would be funny since unfortunately the boys are very under appreciated verbally to meet someone who was fully confident in their ability to affirm people with their words and mean it.

Does that make any sense?😅 If you can’t tell I ramble a bit, but all I want to do is tell my boys why I believe in them, help them see all the good they do, and be their biggest supporter. They deserve nothing but goodness and overwhelming love and by golly, I will give it to them any way I can or my name isn’t aggressive affection 😆👊🏼🧡

I have come back to edit this and take out my political statement with respect to those who do not wish to associate. I apologize if I came off as too strong and or too hurtful. It was not my intention. I will also kindly request those who have reblogged to reblog the new one instead.

I was wondering how to go about this request and I think this might be better as a headcanon segment. If someone would like me to elaborate on any of them later on or provide proof as to what I'm advancing, you are more than welcome to ask, but for now, here goes nothing. Warning, I'm going to go about this in a weird order, but it'll make sense after they're all there.

So! First things first!

How the Rise Boys Would React to Words of Affirmation.

Michelangelo Hamato

As someone who dishes out compliments himself, Mikey would be the one to blink at you, chuckle, and blush a little, at least if it was something concerning him directly, like saying you're grateful he exists or his artwork since it isn't something he gets this often for. His cooking and clothing choices though would get parading and maybe a little peacocking because of his genuine confidence in those skills, you would need to push a little harder to get him silent and shy.

Either way, expect him to bounce back and throw some compliments your way real quick. Why? 'Cause it's his love language as well! Hell, expect him to turn it into a competition because he will not be outdone. No sir. And if you end up looking like a tomato by the end of it? Well... you started it, didn't you?

Donatello Hamato

Hope he doesn't have anything in his hands or it will be dropped. Doesn't matter where the words go with his boy, if he so much as recognizes the honesty, and he will, he will go silent and stare at you like you've grown another head. Not because you've hurt him, but because he doesn't understand. Spontaneity and genuineness, at least when it comes to words, is Mikey's thing. You are a stranger to his family and you're not only complimenting him but being genuine about it? Does not compute.

He will adapt, though, and at first, he might ask about what you think of his work. It'll be cautious and he will absolutely downplay it, but he will start fishing for compliments while enjoying your presence. And if you show interest in any of his special interests? Consider yourself his best friend. He will bug you at impossible hours before waiting for you to wake up so you can both talk.

Raphael Hamato

The big guy, the oldest, the one who had to raise this merry band of idiots. I don't think he would drop anything, but he would blink at you and look behind himself several times before he even acknowledges that you're talking to him. From there, expect him to blush and hesitate. He's not used to compliments, poor guy, and even less when they're spoken with honesty and kindness.

Surprisingly, though, I think it would calm him. Reassure him. He doesn't hear often or from anyone that he's doing or has done a great job, so, for a moment, it would silence his brain. He wouldn't bug you as often as Donnie would, but if ever he had a big decision to make, he might either ask for input or just want to make sure he took the right one.

Leonardo Hamato

... Eugh, boy. Where do I start with this guy? With the Face Man, the one who's used to lying, the one who nearly took out the planet on accident because he wanted to show off his skill? The initial reaction would be a simple one, use your words and embellish them. Make them more grandiose. Build himself up as high as possible. If it makes you laugh? Great! If it upsets you? Well, you're the one who said something so you only have yourself to blame.

Eventually, though, he would fall quiet. He would listen and ask you if you mean it. Saying you do will get you more silence and little else. He might even walk away. Why? He's waiting for the other shoe to drop. He's waiting for you to get angry at him. Change your mind. Everyone does. So why wouldn't you?

Yo I finally got around to finishing this beast of a post

So, a couple notes on this: Draxum doesn't start out by immediately training the turtles to use their mystic powers for fighting. It would be like trying to teach someone to drive a racecar at 200mph before they can tell the brake and gas pedals apart: in other words, immensely counterproductive. Yes, his eventual goal is to create soldiers, but he's willing to take his time getting there.

Draxum and Donnie:

Obviously these two connected the fastest right away, partly because Draxum is genuinely interested in Donnie's tech and because he has a lot more of the technical knowledge required to understand how Donnie explains his tech (at least relative to the other turtles). However, while Donnie uses tech for basically everything, Draxum is completely steeped in magic, meaning the two of them are basically coming from two different schools of thought for how they process the world. While Draxum might be able to use this as point of reference to understand how Donnie sees his tech, it's still not a one for one comparison, meaning Draxum may struggle to explain mystic powers in a way that would get Donnie to accept them (especially as the growth of his brothers' powers threatens his self-esteem).

Still, given that Draxum's goal is to create functional soldiers, he may not actually care that much about awaking Donnie's mystic powers. After all, he's got a perfectly capable fighter already (as evidenced by Donnie's fight against him in the first episode, when they were basically on even footing), and that's really what Draxum wants to get out of training the turtles. He doesn't need to spend time developing Donnie's powers when Donnie's tech is already incredibly powerful.

However, Donnie is still actively interested in learning about mystic powers, if only so he can figure out more about how Draxum's mystic oath works (because at this point in the story, Donnie still doesn't quite trust Draxum not to have workarounds for what he promised. Sure, he's a great listener, but that doesn't mean Donnie trusts him with his family's well-being). So Draxum pretty much ends up with a student that he can teach theory to, but not actual practice. Which is pretty limiting.

Draxum and Raph:

Draxum is actually going to struggle quite a bit with figuring out how to teach Raph for several reasons. First of all, Raph is an incredibly quick learner when it comes to mystic powers (one of the perks of being a genetically engineered super soldier, and something Draxum did NOT plan for). Draxum basically has to create an entirely new system of teaching on the fly, and ends up skipping over a lot of the basics.

Another factor is that Raph's mystic powers are just very different from Draxum's, meaning they don't have a lot of common ground to begin with. Also, the way that Raph has learned about his powers up to this point (namely, screwing around and/or life-threatening situations) is very different both from how Draxum usually teaches and how he learned himself. It's kind of like a classically trained musician trying to teach someone how to play jazz: there's a few basics in common, sure, but overall it's not going to be very effective.

The big breakthrough in Raph's training is when he finds out about the audio enchantments that Draxum puts on basically all his books that functionally gives them a read-aloud function. It's pretty much the first time that Raph sees mystic powers as something he could use in his day-to-day life, besides just something he uses in combat.

(As a side note, both Raph and Draxum are dyslexic, which is why Draxum has said audio enchantments on all of his books. Also, a lot of the spells and whatnot Draxum uses in daily life are more or less accommodations? He just doesn't necessarily think of them that way, but I won't get into that with this post.)

At that point, Draxum starts teaching Raph more of the spells and enchantments he uses in daily life. However, this does have the side effect of slowing down Raph's progress somewhat, as the mechanics for tangible spells are very different for those of mystic constructs. The bump in the learning curve doesn't concern Draxum much, as it means that he can teach much more effectively, but it does concern Raph a fair bit.

sleepy cuddles

Soft silky sheet draped over you as you hugged your turtle. You let out a soft whine as you bury your face into his neck. Your chest slowly rises as you breathe steadily. A soft aroma of vanilla fills the room you both are in and Leo's phone on a low volume as he scrolls through the internet. You grumble looking at him.

“Put your phone down.” you mutter and look up at him. Your head is still on his shoulder and your hair spread out on the bed. He looks down at your giving you a soft smile and brings his hand up to slowly run his fingers through your hair.

“I will. Just few more minutes, ok?” He says holding you closer but you still have your annoyed look plastered over your face.

“Leonardo Hamato turn your phone off and sleep. Its past midnight” you grumble. Your tone strict as you speak.

“Wow using my full name now are we?” Leo laughs softly you face doesn't change as he laughs and he slowly starts to sheepishly look at you.

“Ok ok” he turns off his phone before turning to look at you and pulls up the cover over himself.

“Is that better Mi Amor?” He asks now facing you as his hand snakes around your waist pulling you closer. Surprised, you let out a small squeak. And he laughs.

“What was that?”

“Oh like you don't make any weirder nosies without shame” you laugh as well staring at him. You wrap your legs around him pulling your body closer to his and you try to wrap your arms around him slowly scratching the back of his neck and moving down to his shell. Soft churrs fill the room and you smile.

“I guess so” he mumbles between his soft churrs

“Goodnight”
