Wrong Number 2
Someone said they liked when authors put their super-specific jobs in fics so I hope ya like Steve havin a (kinda romanticized) past job of mine.
For the first time in his life, Steve felt like the stereotypical young person who was always glued to his phone. Every time it made a noise or vibrated, his arm shot out like lightning, hoping with every fiber of his being that it was the mystery number.
It had been about five days since he'd sent that first message and he'd been worried about their conversations being stale. But that wasn't an issue. The only times their talks lulled was when they went to bed.
And even that was after texting late into the night. Steve would watch the clock go from 9 to 10 and promise to get to sleep at a reasonable hour. And then it would be midnight and what was a few minutes after that? Then he'd look up and it would be 2 in the morning.
Texting this guy had become the highlight of Steve's days. To the point where he didn't even realize Friday had come until one of his students mentioned it.
Then, purely out of habit, he asked: "Any weekend plans?"
"I've got a soccer game", Zach answered.
"My parents are having date night", Belinda said.
And normally Steve himself would be thinking about going out and finding someone for the night. But the idea hadn't come to him for once. He knew why, but he didn't fully process it until he got home to Robin, who was in the middle of cooking breakfast for dinner it seemed.
Steve was in the middle of replying to a text sent during lunch.
(12:15) I just realized you know about my off the wall job (12:17) But I have no idea what your 9 to 5 is (12:18) Your legally required to tell me if ur famous (12:18) Not bc im a clout chaser (12:19) But bc I might not have a clue who you are
[4:13] Not famous. Don't worry. I'm a teacher.
(4:15) As a former student I apologize
Robin opened the cabinet, looking for pancake mix. “Are you and that girl still texting?”
“Me and the who?”, Steve looked up from his phone.
“That girl? I assume you're finally setting up a date for this weekend?"
"She-" Steve racked his brain for a good excuse. But it was hard to do when the person who knew him the most was staring right at him.
"Whatever flaws of hers you're about to make up, I'm gonna call bullshit because your phone hasn't stopped pinging for days." She started mixing the pancake batter.
Steve looked down at the words on his screen. The one flaw of this guy was that they couldn't meet in person. But maybe it was time to close the distance just a bit.
"She's shy. Might just text a bit more before she's ready."
[4:19] No need for sorries. All my kids are great. But that's probably because I teach their favorite class.
(4:21) Oooh their favorite? (4:21) It's gotta be something like art rite? (4:22) Or are you being a smart ass cuz you teach like calculus or something?
[4:23] I teach cooking 😛
(4:23) Oh shit. (4:24) You're actually the favorite
[4:25] Toldja. Hey quick question and then possibly many more questions.
(4:26) Go ooooon
[4:27] How would you feel about spending the night playing 20 questions? Like are you free tonight?
Eddie bit his lip as he looked at Steve's words. He had picked his shifts this weekend to make sure he had plenty of time to talk to Steve. Which meant he was in fact free tonight. He replied as such and Steve said he wanted a little time to take a shower and then he'd be ready.
And because he was a little shit, Eddie took advantage of him being away from his phone.
(4:35) Since you're in the shower, I'm taking the first question. Boxers or briefs?
[4:54] Cheater. And I prefer boxer briefs. My turn?
(4:55) Go for it
Eddie was curled up on his couch, tv low and in the background as he waited for Steve's question.
[4:55] What's your name?
(4:56) THATS your first question? (4:56) Wait we've been texting for days haven't you saved my number? (4:57) What do you have me as?
Steve bit his lip, wishing he could lie to this guy, but he couldn’t. Instead he sent a screenshot of his phone.
(4:59) Misty? That’s the name of the chick?
[5:00] Yeah. But I guess I should put your actual name now, right?
It was a gamble. But this guy already knew Steve’s name. And by this point they’d been texting for nearly a week. He just wanted to know his name. He pushed back the part of himself that said he needed to know.
(5:00) It's Eddie.
Eddie. The guy he'd been talking to was named Eddie. Eddie with the long curly hair and the chunky rings who threw axes for a living. He was a far cry from the soft girls he usually dated. Or the preppy guys he usually dated.
(5:02) Favorite bug?
The question threw Steve for a moment but he decided to humor him.
[5:04] Bees 🐝I like how fuzzy they are. And I like honey. [5:05] What rings do you have?
A couple minutes later, Eddie replied with an image. It was taken from above and showed his hands lying flat on a coffee table. Steve zoomed to make out the details of each ring. He was also able to see a watch and a couple of wristbands on him.
[5:08] How did you take that picture? With your mouth? 🦭
(5:09) Did you did you just compare me to a seal???
[5:09] What other animal catches things in their mouths?
'I can be an animal with my mouth'. Thankfully, Eddie's fingers weren't as fast as his brain and he didn't send that to Steve. Eddie had in fact put his phone in his mouth the take the picture, having a real 'no thoughts, head empty moment' when Steve asked about his rings.
Steve was letting his own mind wander as he gazed at the picture. Eddie's hands were...his hands were...well they were-
(5:10) Favorite youtuber?
The adoration of Eddie's hands were interrupted by Eddie himself as their question and answers continued. The picture continued as well. Steve sent pics of his favorite pair of shoes, his hair products, and of his neck when Eddie said he didn't believe he had all these moles.
Eddie had sent pictures of one arm, covered in tats, his acoustic guitar, and a super worn copy of Peter Pan.
The hour was growing late and both of them were feeling more bold but at the same time hesitant because it felt like they were close to crossing a line.
Needing an outside opinion, Eddie consulted with The Council (the discord server with his band mates) about whether or not he should shoot his shot. Gareth told him to go for it, what harm could it do? Grant said to do it because it could potentially be the funniest catfishing story. Jeff agreed that he should, if only because their guitarist getting murdered would be a great back story.
With their unanimous approval, Eddie decided to start actively flirting with Steve.
(8:37) Soooooo ya like jazz?
[8:38] I do actually. I really love the piano.
Okay, that one was just practice. Be smooth. Be suave. None of that was in Eddie's wheelhouse but thankfully nothing he said turned Steve away. He always seemed just as eager to reply back.
(9:10) What's your oldest piece of clothing?
Eddie was thinking of his own oldest article a t-shirt that had started out overgrown on his tiny eight year old body but he'd grown into and kept over the years. It was super faded but filled with the memory of the first time he spent more than a couple of days with his uncle.
[9:12] I'd show you, but I'm wearing them right now.
Steve had closed his bedroom door before sending the text. There wasn't anything scandalous but it seemed like it could very quickly veer into that territory. All Eddie had to do was ask. If he wanted to see them, Steve would show it.
'I would like to see it.'
(9:12) I would like to see it
Eddie knew it could be anything. Maybe a holey sock. Or maybe he also had a super faded t-shirt with deep sewn-in memories as well. Maybe he was wearing a class ring?
[9:14] image.jpeg
Eddie was treated (and goddamn what a treat it was) to Steve Harrington's bottom half, barely covered in shorts with a school's logo on them. Thick thighs covered in hair. And a bulge that was there. It was very there. Eddie couldn't overstate how there it was.
He palmed his own crotch before remembering he was looking at a guy's junk and about to jerk off to it in his living room. And he had yet to answer. What was the most respectful way to say 'humina humina humina-wolf whistle-awooga'?
(9:16) Are you trying to kill me Steve?
[9:17] Do you like it?
'Awooga.'
(9:18) ❤️🔥 🔥 🥵
Eddie tried to think of any other way to tell Steve how hot he made him but it felt like typing words just wasn't enough.
(9:19) Can I do something insane? (9:20) And feel free to ignore me if it's too much
Steve was lying in his bed, phone of his charger now. Nothing Eddie could do would be too much. He could knock on his door and he would let him in.
[9:21] Go ahead
A second after he sent that, Steve's phone started to ring. It was Eddie. He stared for about five seconds before picking up.
"Hey."
"Hey."
If possible, Steve melted more into his bed. Eddie's voice...he didn't know what he expected but it wasn't that. He said one word and Steve wanted to wrap himself in it.
"That was pretty naughty of you, sending me that pic. I could show up to your school."
"You'd be a few years too late. These are my oldest shorts, remember?"
"Tiniest shorts maybe."
Steve laughed and Eddie was on cloud nine. He was so lost in bliss, he miscalculated and fell off the couch.
"What was that?"
"I uh, I fell. Off my couch."
"Did you fall hard?"
Eddie beamed as he got up and turned off the tv. Now that he had his voice, all he wanted to hear was the man on the other line.
"Oh super hard."
Steve let out a sound from the back of his throat and he wondered if Eddie had heard it. It was honestly amazing how the smallest things got him going. Or maybe he was just that into Eddie.
"You still there Steve?"
....."Yeah. I'm still here."

excerpts from a daily mail article released shortly after her arrest
When members of the Geneva High School role playing club asked 16-year-old Lindsay Souvannarath to choose a character they were expecting an elf, a sorceress or perhaps a female warrior.
But the shy, clean-cut teenager opted for a rather more unsettling choice, presenting them with a detailed pencil drawing of her chosen persona - the 'Nightmare Nazi'.
The trench coat, jackboots and gas mask were unmistakably those of an SS soldier; the skeletal hands clutching a vast dagger more akin to dark fantasy art.
Former classmates at Geneva High recall Lindsay Souvannarath as a shy, withdrawn youngster, who had few friends and instead sought out after-school groups and writing clubs to express her creative side.
But she was also prone to bouts of anger and violence - allegedly stabbing another student with a pencil in one outburst and occasionally letting slip an alarming infatuation with the Third Reich.
'On first impressions I didn't think there was anything too strange about her,' he told Daily Mail Online.
'She could be funny and intelligent but most of the time she was quiet and not very warm or outgoing.
'One year her character was a sort of Wonder Woman-type heroine, then all of sudden she tells the group she wants to be a Nazi ghost.
'You choose your species and come up with a back story. Hers was that her character was a guest from a crazy, dark Nazi universe.
'It's supposed to be a game in a medieval, fantasy setting but she would just argue if she didn't get her way.
'So we went on our quest with a robot, a couple of elves, wizards and this weird Nazi.
'Aside from the character's background he didn't do anything racist or too alarming. We didn't know about her interests at that time so we just got on with it.
Ms Szigeti recalled how Souvannarath began to idolize black-death metal bands in her mid-teens.
She became particularly infatuated with Varg Vikernes, a white supremacist musician convicted in 1994 of killing a rival guitarist and burning down three churches in Norway, describing him as 'cute' and writing essays about him.
'Her work was always dark and full of violence, there were soldiers and Nazis and all this weird stuff,' Sabrina said.
'She acted normal on the surface. She was never physically violent but she would get aggressive and upset if you criticized her.
'Everyone was uncomfortable but we just avoided trying to start a fight with her. 'If you asked her straight up 'are you a Nazi?' she would argue that she wasn't.
As far back as 2007 - when she was just 15 - she allegedly wrote 'free speech is dead' in one forum, adding: 'That's why we need people like David Duke to bring it to life again.'
In another warped entry, writing that same year under the pseudonym Snoopyfemme she wrote: 'They use sex in commercials all the time to sell products. Why don't they ever use violence?
'Wouldn't you love to see a bunch of guys tearing each other apart with machine guns to get a bowl of Cheerios?
'Sure, it might traumatize our children, but in my opinion, children aren't being traumatized enough.
'The only reason for Americans to breed is to create more soldiers to fight for freedom. We need to weed out the weaklings early on. Survival of the fittest, man.'
'She was very odd to the point among a lot of our classmates that no-one was surprised by her arrest.
'She was a very lonely person - but she isolated herself. 'From what I remember she was even suspended for stabbing someone with a pencil in middle school.'
'She was known for putting spells on people. She would do it by saying weird things and then putting on a curse - obviously we did not take her seriously.
'She would break out into laughter in the middle of class for absolutely no reason.
'When we saw that Lindsay did something like this, nobody was surprised. She was the one most likely.'

Twisted Wish
Matthew was an average, everyday kind of guy from the suburbs. He was the 22 year old only child of happily married parents with middle class standing. He was also in his last year of college with a major in history. The only thing that helped set him apart was the fact that he was gay, but even his sexuality didn't really matter much in a big city full of twinks like him. All things considered, Matthew was a pretty ordinary guy with nothing particularly remarkable about him.
However, just because Matthew lived a normal life doesn't mean he didn't have his own set of problems. For example, he was 22 going on 23 and he was still a virgin who has never even had a real boyfriend. Sure, he had gone on plenty of first dates, but none of them ever went anywhere beyond the first date. It was the lack of romantic and sexual experience that made up Matthew's biggest insecurities. There were nights where he would stay up wondering if he would ever find Mr. Right. But what really made Matthew insecure was his roommate Dave.
Dave was a player. He was a lady's man through and through. In the short year Matthew's known him, Dave had already gone through 3 girlfriends and was currently working on his fourth. But that was just the girls he's dated, Dave's had plenty of side chicks too. Everytime a new one popped up, Matthew already knew he was gonna get sexiled and made himself scarce without Dave asking him to. Despite how often it happened, Matthew honestly didn't mind Dave's horny habits. Though he would be lying if he said he wasn't jealous of Dave. If some frat bro like Dave could get laid anytime he wanted, why couldn't he?
One Saturday night, while Matthew was by himself in the apartment, he spent the evening on his phone. He was endlessly scrolling through several social media sites while streaming some random movie for background noise. Matthew spent several hours online before finally getting tired of his phone. He began closing all the tabs, but during his clicking frenzy, he accidentally hit a pop-up ad. The pop-up took him to another website called "Reality Wizard." The ugly, gaudy colors of the website caught Matthew's interest just before he could exit out. Matthew took a moment to read the website’s welcome message. It read:
“Make a wish and the Reality Wizard will make it come true.”
From what Matthew could gather, the “Reality Wizard” seemed to be some online genie game. It seemed pretty straightforward albeit cheaply made. The little genie avatar had its arms open as if it was beckoning Matthew to make a wish. Something about its digital eyes made Matthew uncomfortable. He felt as if it was somehow looking directly at him despite it just being a static image on his phone. It was surreal to say the least.
But instead of simply exiting out of the website, Matthew decided to play along with it. He didn’t have anything better to do after all, so why not play along and make a wish to a fake genie? Matthew laid back on his bed as he thought about what to wish for. Then after a minute of thinking, he typed in his wish.
“I wish I could get laid just as much as my straight roommate does.”
Matthew chuckled as he finished typing up his wish. While there was some actual sentiment behind it (he was a desperate virgin after all), Matthew found more humor in making the genie respond to something dirty and see what happens. He hit submit and waited. The screen reloaded after a second, but all that changed was the genie’s eyes were now closed. Matthew waited a while longer but nothing else happened.
Once he was bored again, Matthew finally closed out of “Reality Wizard.” The night was still young when Matthew found himself alone with nothing else to do. That was when he decided to do what any other guy would do: jerk off!
Matthew pulled down his sweats and let his soft dick flop out while he pulled up an incognito tab on his phone. He then went straight to PHub to find a good video to rub one out to. But unfortunately for Matthew, there was nothing worth clicking on on the home page. He then spent the next 10 or so minutes searching for a good video. By the time he found one, he had ended up in the MMF video category. Matthew didn’t mind a woman in his videos, he could just focus on the men after all. He hit play, skipped to the good part, and started jerking off.
Between Matthew and the trio in the video, moans and groans quickly began to fill the empty apartment as Matthew pumped away at his cock. Despite being a total bottom, Matthew still had an above average length clocking in at about 6 inches. Even though his dick never saw any fucking action, it still made jerking off fun as he used both hands to stroke himself.
“Aww fuck yeah…” The trio had switched into a sandwich position with one of the men getting fucked while fucking the woman at the same time. Matthew was loving the man on man action. “Fuck that man ass! Make him your bitch!!”
While Matthew was jerking off, the wish he had just made to the “Reality Wizard” began to come true! But not in the way Matthew expected…
The genie’s magic began to take effect. Matthew was always a skinny twink, but the wish he made caused his body to change. His body was quickly gaining weight until Matthew had some heft to his figure. His arms and thighs filled in with the extra mass, as did his chest until he had big enough pecs to grab and squeeze. The same happened to his ass! Although he already had a nice, perky ass before the changes, Matthew now possessed the bubble butt of a gym rat. Even his cock and balls grew until he had an obscenely long and girthy member. His new dick was now 7.5 inches and hung low like a bull with how heavy his cum filled balls had become.
After the extra mass came the body hair. Matthew’s once perfectly smooth body began sprouting hair everywhere! His hair grew out until he had shoulder length curls like Tarzan. His face tingled as a full beard and mustache quickly grew in. His chest and midsection got covered with a fine layer of brown hair. Even his pit and pubic hair grew and grew until he had an unruly forest of hair in each area. By the time the transformation was finally over, Matthew had become an unrecognizable version of himself as he was now a testosterone-filled, hairy beast of a young man.
But even though Matthew just went through a magical transformation, his mind was still focused entirely on jerking off to the video. The two men and one woman were still going hard at it in a line. The camera angles kept alternating between focusing on the two men and focusing on the woman getting fucked. Matt’s favorite was seeing the man’s cheeks getting clapped from behind.
“Oh fuuuck I’m close..”
Matt threw his head back against his pillow. He could feel the pressure building up in his throbbing cock as he was getting ready to shoot his load out. He picked up his stroking speed. He was getting sweaty and red in the face as he was getting closer and closer to finishing.
Matt lifted his head again when he heard the woman begging for more. He kept his eyes focused on the video. The video had a wide shot which showed all three of them. Matt started with the two men, but as he kept stroking, he found his eyes unconsciously gravitating towards the woman. Matt wasn’t sure why he did that. He shifted his attention back to men, but found himself focusing back on the woman again within seconds. Suddenly, the woman was all Matt could focus on. Even if he tried to look away he just couldn’t! Even if he tried to imagine a hot man with a hung cock all Matt could picture was a woman with massive tits! Matt was panting at the sight of the woman’s tiddies bouncing up and down as she took a pounding. Her beautiful body was wet with sex sweat. Seeing her throw her head back as she let out a loud moan made Matthew tremble and twitch with anticipation. He couldn’t take it anymore, he had to burst!
Matt let out a guttural groan as ropes of warm cum shot out of his engorged cock. His hairy chest became drenched with his spunk. Even by the time he finished shooting load after load, his dick was still twitched and throbbing with how much cum he shot out. Matt sighed with relief as he threw his arms back to cool down after such an intense jerk off session. His body hair was dripping with how drenched it was with sweat and cum. On top of that, the room now reeked of a man’s sweaty musk, but Matt didn’t care. He was satisfied and content.
Once Matt finally caught his breath, it was time for him to clean up the sticky mess he just made. His initial instinct was to gather up all his cum with his fingers and then swallow it all, but Matt stopped when he realized how fucking gay that was. He had absolutely no interest in ever tasting cum. After all, why would a straight guy like Matt want to swallow cum?
Matt went to the bathroom and cleaned the jizz off his body. He then went ahead and changed his bed sheets too due to dripping all over them. Once that was done, Matt stood in his bedroom. He then lifted his arm up, letting the wild bush of pit hair hang free as he took a deep sniff of himself. Matt could smell some musk, but decided it wasn’t anything some cologne couldn’t cover up.
“Yo! Anyone home?”
Matt’s ears perked up when he heard his roommate Dave call out. He then walked out and greeted his best bud by dabbing him up. Matt and Dave were brothers from different mothers and were known for their unbeatable bromance.
“Dave, my man! What are you doing home so early!? It’s barely midnight!”
“I know, bro, but check it, Darcy just invited me to go check out this new club downtown with her. It’s hella exclusive, you gotta come with us, Matt! I need my shotgun brother there if I’m gonna club all night!! Plus, Darcy’s got a friend. Brianna, I think you’ll like her…”
“She cute?” Matt asked with an eyebrow raised. Dave nodded. “Cup size?”
“Double D’s, AND she never wears a bra when she goes out! Trust me bro, you gotta meet her, I know for a fact y’all are perfect together!!”
Matt was convinced the moment he heard “D.” He was always a boobs over ass kinda guy after all. Matt quickly got dressed, then went out to have the best night of his life at the club with his bro Dave, ending with them tag teaming Darcy and Brianna in bed. All while Matt was completely oblivious to the fact that the Reality Wizard had granted his wish. Matt definitely got laid just like his straight roommate Dave, just like he wished, although he probably didn’t expect the online genie to twist his carelessly worded wish. Not that Matt really cared about his former self, after all, he had a girlfriend with two very big reasons why he should enjoy the new reality he wished for himself.

their mental health will be the principal difficulty you will have In the relationship. of course this will be translated differently for everyone and each fs will have their own mental illness that will be a difficulty in the relationship in its particular way.
Your fS is also someone that used to do bad things (either to themselves or to others) and even after being married they can still have these patterns which might cause issues in the marriage

these person will have physical transformations during your marriage. for most it will be from going to skinny to chubby or going chubby to skinny
in many of your fs will be very spiritual or religious
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ Pile 3 ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
: ̗̀➛ Astrological Placements
pisces energy here but honestly any sun, rising or stallium in water signs
: ̗̀➛ Appearance
they are rather short for their gender, and honestly this person could be from any ethnicity, there isn't here any thing that gives away where would they come from. due to that their physical appearance is also impossible to say
: ̗̀➛ Personality
they are quiet by nature, shy, introverted even I must say. they aren't confortable in open spaces in general and they like to have their own cocoon
some of you will be dating someone who likes to write or to read
they can be quite chaotic as well, like someone messy that often forgets to do their responsibilities and need to be reminded constantly
they are free free too. they won't be the type to force you to do things the same way they expect you to give them enough freedom
: ̗̀➛ Background
most of your FS had at least one experience with abandonment (either parents or earlier partners) which causes them to be very very insecure in their life and to have patterns of behaviors that reflect those issues
despite that, they are very close to the family they have left (in some cases even to the family that have abandoned them/mistreated them). Family plays a huge factor in their personal lives
During their adult life they will be able to have some luck when it comes to their love life with you or even in their work since they have a rough start, as they will get older, their life will fix itself
during their life with you they will probably suffer form heart diseases
: ̗̀➛ Sexuality
your FS would be someone quite goo at sex because they are just as kinky as they are nurturing and the combination will go quite well for their partners. they are very romantic and that can be felt inside the bedroom
: ̗̀➛ Difficulties
they are someone that are instable emotionally so this will possibly bring a lot of complications in the couple I the future
and with that they are also very doubtful, they doubt everything and everything, they doubt feelings and actions. once again this will go with the instability and be one of the major difficulties to live with
for some of you, they are someone that would rather keep the relationship discreet or even secret from other people. although this could not be an issue for some, it could be an issue for others, specially if you are the type that likes to show your partner around or in social media since your FS isn't the type to enjoy exposing their life around
The weight of their family is very very present, which means they are unable to let go of their family opinions nor the need to see them or be with them. this can be cute but also a huge difficulty to solve when in a married relationship
: ̗̀➛ Random
they will be the first one falling in love for you, and they will probably try to court you, flirt with you and try to conquest you when you two first met
some of your FS will be living by the sea
some of your FS are people hat believes and likes to manifest
but also they enjoy the beauty things of life and might have a liking for luxury things
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ Pile 4 ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
: ̗̀➛ Astrological Placements
water energy, so water sun, rising or stallium sign
: ̗̀➛ Appearance
most of your fs will have eyes of color and mostly green I see here. they are more for the brown color (not entirely black so maybe mixed or for exemple form arabic roots or even Indian in some cases and even for some asian with a more honey liked skinned tone). they have a very impressive built as well
: ̗̀➛ Personality
they have a temper thats for sure, they are usually very quiet and nice but they can be very agressive as well depending on who they don't like
other than that they are also a very jovial personally. they like to be happy, they are funny and enjoy making people around them happy
: ̗̀➛ Background
most of your fs will come from a wealthy family or at least their background will be economically better than yours
due to that they are also probably someone who will have a lot of money, who will work and have a good job or studies. they will be able to provide
: ̗̀➛ Sexuality
their sexual energy is rather complicated to read because some of the fs have a very complicated relationship with sex altogether and they view It as complicated or at least they are very traditional in some points
however in some cases they are also quite kinky, like bdsm kinky like
: ̗̀➛ Difficulties
I feel like most fs will have a posterior relationship that caused them many issues. obviously for each person this will be different but the common point is that, the past relationship has a lot of influence on our you fs will behave with you which will cause issues
they lack of communication a lot, they aren't the type to communicate well or to talk about their feelings. this could potential be a difficulty especially during arguments
some fs will have a personality that is very complicated to deal with because they can be easily evil without meaning it (in some cases) which again can be proven difficulties
: ̗̀➛ Random
their mother is very very present in their live which is good but at the same time can be complicated (especially if they are boys)
despite coming from a wealthy background they are very generous and they are the type to enjoy sharing what they have with people who need it. they will also provide for their partner and give them whatever they need
expect them to be a long erm successful professional. no matter the job they do, they will be successful and continue the wealthy partner that is already present on their family
but also this comes with he fact that they are a workaholic and they probably spend little time at home
they will have throat issues during the marriages, mostly disease associated
the relationship between you two eventually gets better with the years
i see that you guys will also be the type to have a. lot of projects and some of you will even move countries a lot or will be changing to move abroad.
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ Pile 5 ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
: ̗̀➛ Astrological Placements
air energy, Aquarius for most of you. So sun, rising and stallium in air sign
: ̗̀➛ Appearance
they are average height for their gender, they come from a white background, probably western as well. They have big eyes, probably dark in color and a sharp nose. they have a fluffy appearance so for some they are chubby/curvy
: ̗̀➛ Personality
diânt got much info here, other that they are people that are rather intuitive, very in sync with their emotions and with their spiritual side or their faith in some cases. their whole personality is mostly based ont heir values and morals
: ̗̀➛ Background
they will be someone with a rocky and rough path while they grew up, thankfully not of tFS have gone through healing and emotional healing and therapy.
some of these FS will be found after you (or them) had a very harsh break up. however in some cases this marriage will also end up in divorce.
they are someone that will suffer a lot from digestive diseases after you guys get married
: ̗̀➛ Sexuality
they are very active sexually, they have a strong sexual energy and probably the type that has a lot of passion and energy to give into the relationship. it will differ form FS from FS, but most of yours is quite kinky, mars like energy and masculine energy as well
: ̗̀➛ Difficulties
they are someone that enjoys to be alone and often they will try to push you away unconsciously or not talk to you when something is wrong. because of that this would bring in some difficulties inside the relationship
they also have a hard habit to break into their behavioral patterns. most of your FS has an incapacity of changing the way they are, they always go back to their usual patterns which again can be rather problematic depending on what pattern of behaviors they have and how harmful they are to you or themselves
: ̗̀➛ Random
they are someone that always have a new idea or new goals in their life and they will mostly try to take you in their crazy ride
however they also lack a lot in planning and if you are someone that actually executes plans than the marriage will be nice and balanced. your FS is also someone that can fear the unknown and doesnt enjoy leaving their confort side
they will be working independently and for themselves. for many fs this can be someone that has their own company or have their jobs hat doesnt require to work for someone else
again, the divorce energy is very represent but it will be different form everyone in some cases you guys will divorce or find each other after a divorce
Your Future Spouse isn't your twin flame
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ Pile 6 ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
: ̗̀➛ Astrological Placements
here we have earth energy, but also air signs and scorpio. in sum, rising or stallium
: ̗̀➛ Appearance
they are someone with short hair, in some cases their will be rather bald. they have dark eyes and hair (if they have any). they are average height for their gender and they are more of a dark skinned tone than yours
: ̗̀➛ Personality
they are someone that don't miss opportunities and they take whatever lives throws at the without being bitchy about it. they are very grateful for what they have no matter if it is positive or negative
they aren't a liar, they are someone who likes to tell the true and likes to listen to the true. don't attempt to lie to them
they are someone rather stable in their life, with a stable personality as well
they are also very intuitive !
: ̗̀➛ Background
in most cases this is someone that have suffered from negated when they were a child and that have impacted their perception of the world a lot
and in some cases your fs was either cheated on a lot of they have a very large cheating list before they have met you
: ̗̀➛ Sexuality
they are rather good at sex. they aren't bad and they aren't extradionary but they are good and they are usually the type that can safety a married person
: ̗̀➛ Difficulties
for most of your, your fs has commitment issues which will cause complications in the marriage. for some your fs won't want to marry or they take a lot of time to marry you, in some cases they can cheat or be paranoid and think you are cheating on them. they have trust issues and commitment issues and that will be the biggest difficulty with them
: ̗̀➛ Random
despite everything it is possible fo you and your fs to live in a very happy relationship for the rest of your lives (if you learn how to forgive cheating in case it happens )
they are also someone that during the marriage will known professional failure (probably will get demitted in their work or will lose their job or will have a period were he won't find work/won't be able to work) and they will need your support a lot
probably to leave together until the end of your days

long time reader, first time caller! i just read all of “adventures in polyamory” after watching approximately 3 episodes with amber in them, and it breaks my heart that you made me fall in love with her wilson-style (with reckless immediacy) while the way she’s depicted in the show is so…woman written in the 2000’s…so i’m here to shake a tin cup and ask for any amber headcanons you’d be willing to share
hello and welcome from KZ-HouseMD, the radio station for all your hatecrime-hits! ;) <3
loving Amber is so painful and so worth it; we will punch through the Noughties' misogyny together babes 🌈
headcanons and over-explanations ahoy!!
Amber's got a WASP-y background, and has spent her life both living up to and rejecting these standards. Unlike Wilson, who is delusionally attached to the idea of being Good and Normal but is unhappy living the reality, Amber recognizes that these concepts are absurd performances HOWEVER she logically recognizes that they come with benefits--and she wants those. "Love and respect" seemed impossible, because respect comes with being the best according to society's rules, and love couldn't survive that stifling environment. Now, she can hold on to the respect she craves: money enough to feel safe, wearing pearls and skirts to look proper and upper-middle-class femme, having a handsome-doctor-man-partner, an MD of her own + also still be herself, including un-ladylike cruelty, dishonesty, being part of House's chaotic evil orbit, sexual freedom, atheism, etc.
Amber has spent 110% of her life trying to get enough success to feel safe and stable and happy, so she hasn't developed interests and hobbies because who has time for that give me another coffee and another go at that medical text
Related: Amber hates everything about organized sports, but if she had the time and a friend (*cough* Thirteen) she could be one of those sapphics who gets incredibly obsessed with a women's soccer team or the WNBA
Also related: a sufficiently "productive" hobby I think she'd love is antiquing. Waking up at six AM to drive three hours and wait outside an estate sale and then barge in and make a grab for that antique bureau, fighting off old ladies and viciously snarling down the price--bloodsport for classy femmes!
Amber is a basic chocolate girlie. Caramel is a close follow-up. Vanilla is fine, and she'll pretend to like fancy amaretto or pistachio flavors etc but really she would prefer an Oreo. (Or two...) She will eat max veggies for Health tm and the spiciest food to prove she is Tough tm but really just wants a grilled cheese. A chicken nugget. A spaghetti. Food sensitivities + eating disorder, though she'll only barely cop to the latter, and will not be exploring the former thank you very much she's fine
Amber gets along well with older kids, where she can take on the role of Cool Babysitter, but I think she's secretly a little terrified of being left alone with the tiny incomprehensible, breakable ones, who don't follow the social contract yet and rely on her (!) for self preservation
Amber is naturally a night owl, but medical-land is all early bird, so she's mainly been sleep deprived for the last decade, since she refuses to have a 10 PM bedtime just because she has to get up at 5 AM to make her shift.
Amber's not that interested in fiction ("who has time for that in this reality?") but she ironically enjoys rom-coms for the absurdity, the laugh factor, and the easy comfort of a formula + unironically enjoys action movies because she likes seeing people get punched in the face repeatedly
Amber should take Taekwondo lessons so she can beat the ever-loving shit out of people for fun, and maybe she will after she realizes that the Lulu Lemons in her yoga classes are unbearable, and instead befriend some weirdos gathering at the local gym to spar (Wilson would think this is a great and very attractive idea, House would be annoyed+scared+horny because jesus now he has to wear an athletic cup full-time or she'll crush his nuts for target practice, won't she, c'mon Wilson it's not funny)
okay hitting the brakes here before this gets so long it demands a read-more! 😜 thanks for the ask <333

now i haven't finished the dream thieves yet (i'm like,,, 7 chapters away from finishing) and i think this may contain spoilers???? but i'm not too sure yet. i'm basically gonna word vomit. i'm sorry for not using any quotes, i wish i could but i only have the ebook version and a very limited storage space on my phone where i can only have ~two books downloaded
like a normal person, i enjoy listening to video essays, see what creators want to explain to their audience and leave with a certain view, try to come to my own arguments about certain points in the videos, see if i can apply some points to other aspects of my life etc etc. (this was the type of shi that helped me with my eng lit essays rip i miss alevels) and like a normal british citizen i looked up stuff about classism in the uk. in the end, i found a video essay about classism in general and how the ultra rich try to mimic being poor to get away from their hard issues that comes with being rich (which, frankly, is probably a lot less compared to someone who is working class).
recently, i was talking to my friend about specifics in the book about certain characters and i remember we went onto the convo of making music playlists for the characters. they said "it's gonna be hard for adam [...] cuz his whole thing is about being unknowable" and it always struck me with how unknowable he truly is when reading his character because his character is intrinsically linked to his working class background. (context: i'm a middle class child of immigrants who built themselves in the uk)
it's very clear the kind of social commentary stiefvater wanted to make using adam's character with how isolating and alienating it can be coming from a working class background trying to assimilate yourself into a society of those protected and privileged enough to not have any problems with accessing opportunities. how class is a huge obstacle between interpersonal relationships and feeling safe enough to be vulnerable with your issues with being working class. how difference in class can cause one-sided shame because of the meritocratic society we're living in. how, no matter how much money you earn or how many connections you can make, your attachment to your working class identity can be enough reason to aim for something supernaturally larger than yourself.
it's evident that other characters overlook adam's social class because he's a "self-made man" (or smth) and mainly because he's their friend: adam. however, when we get a chapter in his pov, class is a driving factor in how he interacts and views everyone. we can see the privilege gansey and ronan have for being able to not even consider class as an intimidating aspect about themselves to a normal person, but it's everything to adam in the sense that he feels like his earned money doesn't give him access to a similar respect.
now that i truly think about it, it was a good idea for adam not to join them in monmouth manufacturing because it just feels like they're... mocking him in an indirect way? they have the ability to choose to live in a nice place and instead chose to live in a random, run-down building because it seemed aesthetic. adam was forced to live in a rundown trailer because that's all they could have afforded. i know gansey had good intentions for wanting adam to join them, but everything that he likes as an aesthetic (monmouth manufacturing, the run-down camaro, eating mint leaves instead of gum) can seem like he's flaunting the fact he can choose that lifestyle without any consequences.
back to the point of the meritocratic society (which we usually assume in books that take place in a similar world as our own) creating shame because of their class: the assumption that because someone has worked hard to earn what they have gives them a right to be proud. but this is the opposite for adam as he fights with the fact that he could have maybe be seen as even more equal to gansey if he had just been born with wealth.
we can frame it as, maybe, despite gansey's desire to appear working class, it only broadens the distance between him and adam. it only worsens adam's difficult relationship with his class shame despite probably wanting to be more relatable or even laid-back.
when reading the second book after his sacrifice, i was confused as to why adam was so un-adam-like. i mean, in the first book i didn't really understand him because of his huge insistance that his class makes him inherently inferior to everyone he surrounds himself with and i don't see class as an issue myself.
however, his sacrifice basically was watering the seed of ambition that was planted when he decided to aim for aglionby. it becamse clearer to me how much this opportunity to be superior, even if it's supernatural and terrifying, is important for him understanding in what he thinks he lacks. by those thoughts of what he lacks, he thought that this chance to be cabeswater's channel could be a way to compensate for his inferior social class. or something.
anyways, thank you for coming to my ted talk. this is not proofread, and my sister keeps nagging at me to shower. also i simp for gansey do not think this is me trying mischaracterising him i'm just trying to understand the theme of class in this series and having gansey as a figure to compare to is literally integral.
#the raven cycle#the raven boys#maggie stiefvater#adam parrish#richard campbell gansey iii#ronan lynch#social classes#my sister looked at my screen and went 'what the freak why are u writing a reddit post'#i told her i was on tumblr n she said it was the length of a reddit post#i am in love with gansey#i am also in love with adam#and his unknowable-ness#i need to get this off my chest because i cannot keep bothering my friend with my stupid theories and analysis#i also don't share it cuz ik they already know it#help i need to finish reading it instead of analysing this

In Depth: Middle Class Drivers
Hello everyone. This post is a response to an ask about drivers who came from middle class families and how they were able to get into F1. Enjoy!
So, as per my post about funding it is very clear that in order to reach F1, drivers must have capital from a young age. Most drivers are from racing families or just generally rich families for this reason. But what about the racers who come from more 'normal' backgrounds? How do they find the money to make it work?
Lewis Hamilton
Hamilton has perhaps the most famous 'rags to riches' story. It is common knowledge that he came from a middle-class family in England, and even had years where he slept on a couch instead of a bed. Hamilton's father was the key behind his rise to success, as he worked up to four jobs at a time to support his son's karting. At one point the family even remortgaged their home to support Hamilton.
As it became clear that he was a rising talent, winnings from series titles as well as new sponsorship opportunities helped alleviate costs. The biggest moment for Hamilton was in 1998, when he was signed to the Mclaren Young Driver Support Program, which covered a significant amount of the cost and also helped attract more sponsors. This support enabled Hamilton to take part in even higher level series and use even better equipment, which yielded better results. In turn, more sponsors came with more money, and it slowly built from there.
Keys to Success:
Talent - Without his natural talent, Hamilton would have never attracted his initial sponsors.
Family Support - Without his father and families sacrifice, he would have never been able to afford his early karting career.
Mclaren Support -Without the Mclaren program, he would have had difficulty covering costs and attracting more sponsors.
Esteban Ocon
Ocon is another driver who came from a middle-class background with no racing roots. He was introduced to motorsports due to his parents owning a garage and his father being a mechanic. However, the family could not afford karting, and so (because he showed such promise) they sold their home and business, living out of a caravan and traveling across Europe for races. Their main source of income was the proceeds from selling the house and car, but later became the winnings from races. Ocon's father also took on odd-job mechanic gigs as they travelled. They saved a lot by not having to pay for hotels and building/repairing the karts themselves.
Eventually, the sacrifice paid off and Ocon attracted a big name sponsor in Gravity Sports Management, who covered a majority of his costs. Their major sponsorship allowed him to move into single-seaters, where his success attracted even more sponsors. Like Hamilton, it snow balled from there.
Keys to Success:
Family Sacrifice - Without his family selling both home and business, he would have never afforded karting.
Sponsorship - Without his luck in finding a major sponsor during karting, he would have not been able to afford to break in to single-seaters.
Mercedes Support - Eventually during his single-seater days he was signed to Mercedes management, with Toto Wolff as his manager. This opened doors into F1.
Fernando Alonso
Most casual fans do not know that Alonso came from a middle-class family. His father was a factory mechanic and his mother worked in a department store. While not poor by any stretch of the imagination, compared to his competitors Alonso had a significant disadvantage. But that didn't stop him. When he was three years of his father built a go-kart for his older sister. Instead, it was Alonso who claimed the kart as his own. His family would support his career heavily, with his father working longer hours and also serving as Alonso's mechanic.
Another major factor in affording karting was local sponsorship. It was clear from a young age how talented Alonso was, and so local businesses and wealthy benefactors helped Alonso pay for his career. In this case it was his talent that drew the sponsors, and perhaps this knowledge that the minute he stopped performing it would be the end kept Alonso going. He would find great success in karting and would in turn attract bigger name sponsors. The biggest boon came about when an ex-F1 driver, Adrian Campos, took Alonso under his wing and helped garner more sponsorships and a foot in the door in F1.
Keys to Success:
Family Expertise - Alonso's father being a mechanic helped alleviate many of the costs, as he built his son's karts and served as his mechanic.
Local Support - Local businesses and benefactors helping support the early stages of Alonso's career in karting allowed him to gain success and attract more sponsors.
F1 Mentor - His talent gained the attention of an ex-F1 driver, which in turn helped get more sponsorships and networking. Campos also was able to get Alonso his first single-seater spot on a team.
Alrighty, so that is the basics of it! There are of course multiple other more middle-class F1 drivers (Valtteri Bottas, Pierre Gasly, George Russell, etc.) but most of them find the money in similar ways. Talent, sponsorships, and sacrifice.
I hope this answered all of your questions!
Cheers,
-B

How would you describe the middle class and how would you identify someone belonging to that demographic liek what are some tell tale signs besides being pretty and white with nice teeth and patagonia jackets and $7 chai lattes?
I might not be the best at defining the middle class, but for the purposes of this blog, this is roughly what I mean:
middle class is a loose group of people who don't necessarily think of themselves as having much in common with each other, plus they like to either deny their privilege and/or aspire to higher status, depending on what benefits them most in each situation.
they are of course first and foremost an economic class, but that doesn't mean that they all have a specific amount of money, possessions (like houses or cars (and definitely not superficial stuff like brands and coffees)) or income. there is some sandwich discourse here where the more factors are met, the more likely someone is considered to be middle class and act like it and be treated like it and function like it in the broader systems of power, hierarchies and oppression. Just like two slices of white bread with pb and j are more likely to be considered a sandwich than a burrito.
middle class, as the name implies, is somewhere between lower/working class and upper/ruling class. often they see themselves as "the backbone of society", as the norm/normal, as the "everyday person". they also derive quite a lot of entitlement from this view.
typical "ingredients" of the middle class sandwich are: being an employee, middle management, small/medium business owner, doing desk/office jobs that still make enough money to not have to worry where food and shelter will come from. being suitably educated and knowing how to talk, dress, behave "politely", expecting it from others.
you can see, there are lots of exceptions and edge cases already. middle class is also a very wide range, from people who do struggle financially or are actually poor for a while, to people who are rich and go to elite schools but still aren't ruling class.
and of course there are other axes of marginalisation or privilege. so, no, not all middle class people are white and the assumption that BIPOC can't be middle class is racist. that's why I often specify "white middle class" when talking about that particular (racist) mindest that we white middle class (or ex middle class) ppl have as part of our background noise. being marginalised in some way or in several ways does not mean someone's middle class privilege is irrelevant.
having a particular political opinion, like being anticapitalist or anarchist, also doesn't erase middle class privilege.
I do want to talk about middle class culture though. I feel like that's often overlooked while at the same time being at the root of a lot of problems. it starts with a mindset that puts following rules and often unspoken rules, especially rules about social hierarchies, above pretty much everything. to a truly ridiculous and illogical degree.
it's a particular set of values, that comes through in how they talk and act and in pretty much everything they do, especially in how normalised and entrenched discrimination is. discrimination really is a core part of it.
middle class culture is berating a two or three year old for asking for food when they're hungry because they didn't say "please and thank you".
it is dismissing a Black person's right to live in peace and free from attacks, because they got angry or were using "bad" (ie Black) language when under attack.
it is getting offended at people wanting to be seen as and connect to you as a living human being instead of as the subservient kind of being their lower status marks them as.
it is holding form over substance. like when it is acceptable to say the most vile racist or otherwise inhumane shit in polite language and a calm tone but absolutely scandalous to argue back against that in "improper" ways.
it is denying someone basic human decency, looking down on them and mistreating them (usually in superficially nonviolent ways or by having someone else do the physical violence like cops) and subconsciously seeing them as less than human, or not seeing them at all, acting like they don't exist, for being lower on the social hierarchy.
this is very context dependent. it hits other middle class people in some contexts, often hits working class people and lumps entire groups of people together as below the threshold of consideration. those outside of society or below working class, sometimes called the lumpen proletariat (including sans papiers, beggars, sex workers, homeless ppl, drug dealers and certain users, thieves and others doing illegalised work or coping strategies or activism (unless it's white collar crime)).
it is having immense double standards without a shred of self awareness.
it is practically worshipping hypocrisy and insincerity. that's what all the double standards and respectability bullshit boils down to. you can't mean what you say and can't say what you mean, that would be rude and uncultured, childish, threatening, embarrassing, confusing, stupid, uncivilised etc etc etc.
honesty is, in effect, a hindrance to being heard, accepted, supported our even allowed to exist in that culture.
just imagine going up to your middle manager and showing them what you really think and feel. or teacher. or your bigoted or just plain annoying relatives. or anyone middle class when you are trying to be accepted by them or are even dependent on them.
and by showing how you think and feel, I don't just mean talk calmly. that can already be dangerous. but expressing feelings includes things like crying, shouting, having trouble speaking up, being choked up, struggling for words, rambling, laughing shrilly or raucously, stimming, putting on a hood and earphones, running and jumping and fidgeting, sitting down on the pavement, dissociating, refusing to talk, refusing to listen, refusing to shut up, demanding answers, refusing to apologise when you don't think you should have to, demanding action.
demanding action, or just acting for yourself, is I guess the main thing that all this hypocrisy is meant to stop.
you're not meant to change the status quo. you're not meant to just do what's right and reasonable and just and necessary. because that would dismantle class. it would dismantle injustice and inequality. it would mean actually redistributing wealth and things and houses and land back to those it belongs to (actually belongs to, NOT legally!) or who actually need it. it would mean holding white collar monsters accountable.
it would mean protecting Black and all BIPOC people and disabled and crazy and queer people and women and children and fat people and all other oppressed people from harm, including economic exploitation, being unhoused, displaced, locked up, starved and denied their needs. or being molded, pressured, manipulated, forced into narrow acceptable boxes of how to be and how to look and act.
I could go on, but this is already long. I think one thing that I almost forgot as a now lumpen person who was never close to the upper class is the relation middle class has to the upper classes. there is envy but also mockery and disgust. the essence of middle class is to be subservient to the upper classes and being simultaneously drawn to them, wanting to be them or like them, but also knowing one's place and rejecting the idea of being like them.
we're not decadent and frivolous like them rich people! we hate billionaires! but we also love celebrities and in some places literal nobles and monarchs.
to your last point, no, I would not try to identify someone as belonging to the middle class or look for tell tale signs. what would be the point of that?
it's a CLASS. which means it's not about individuals having or buying certan things.
I don't judge people based on stuff they have little control over or on irrelevant things. I judge people based on the impact their actions and words have in context. and yeah sometimes I get super frustrated with middle class bullshit!!!
not because of white teeth or expensive beverages, but because of patterns of harm, discrimination and oppression that middle class people are part of and further and do and support to exist into the future (perpetuate).

JAILBAIT⁴ —simon 'ghost' riley
▹ simon 'ghost' riley/gn!reader
▹ part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4
▹ synopsis: Simon comes home to you.
▹ cw: n/a
▹ wc: ~2,3k
▹ last entry in the jailbait series, it's been fun y'all
You text him every day.
But he doesn't always get to answer immediately.
Sometimes he comes back from a mission that ran for too long and turns on his phone just to see dozens of messages from you and he spends the evening going through them instead of sleeping. There are pictures of your cat, screenshots of a bee-themed PowerPoint about a book for class and your new term timetable, a message about utilizing the two-hour break between classes to visit a cat cafe every Monday, and short summaries of how your day went.
Then there are the messages consisting of 'i miss you' and 'i hope you're okay' and 'please come back alive', all sent in the middle of the night. There's a sharp sting in his heart every time he reads those, the taste of poison spreading on his tongue—at the end of the day he is the one causing all these feelings in your life.
Does the way his heart leaps with joy at the thought of you outweigh the pain he's causing your own?
His finger hovers over your name in his contacts, hand just slightly trembling (because maybe it's better if he's out of your life). He glances at the time, quickly running the numbers in his head. Then, he swipes on your name.
The ringing is agonizing.
The seconds tick by and he nervously glances at the time again. Maybe he made a mistake, maybe it's too late and you're already asleep, maybe—
"Hello?" He hears the sound of a door shutting behind you a little too loudly. You hiss a fuck under your breath and Simon can imagine the way your face scrunches up as you flinch at the volume.
His tongue feels like lead in his mouth and for a moment he struggles to find the words to talk to you. He's been radio silent with you for so long that he doesn't even know where to begin. The only thing he can string together is,
"What do you call the wife of a hippie?"
"A Mississippi."
He laughs lowly, the tension in his shoulders easing. You're not mad at him.
"Hi," you say, voice softer, quieter. Silence in the background.
"Hi." He glances at the small clock on his nightstand again. "Don't you have class?" He only asks because he knows you have class right now. Spanish. There's a flicker of guilt that rears its ugly head. Normal boyfriends would have all the time in the world to call you when you're available and yet here he is pulling you away from your expensive education.
"You may not be aware of this but they treat us like adults in university, so if I say I have to take a call, they understand."
"Cheeky."
"You okay?"
"I'm alive."
"Are you coming home?"
"Short mission. Heading out in a few hours." The lie slips from his lips so easily but it tastes like poison. He wants to spit it out, drop to his knees and repent for lying to you, for lying so easily.
Silence stretches between you after that. Maybe you're trying to recall a joke to tell him, maybe you're cherishing every moment of him on the phone because it's one moment less where he's in danger, trying to stretch out the time you have with him.
"What... do you use to cut a Roman emperor's hair?"
"Copy. Behave."
"Me? Always."
His muscles ache as he climbs the stairs of your building. Fatigue weighs his body down like he's drowning with his feet submerged in a block of concrete. His whole body is sore, screaming for rest.
He greets the young mother you sometimes babysit for when he passes her in the hall. Maybe he shouldn't have, maybe he looks too much like a dead man walking for her to recognize him. But then she smiles, greets him, and asks him to thank you for agreeing to babysit tomorrow evening on such short notice. And then she's gone again, her apartment door locking with a resounding click.
Simon drags himself to your door, knuckles tapping against the metal, and waits.
There's an abrupt jerk of the handle, an audible curse when something falls. The door swings open and he's met with your smiling face and you practically throw yourself at him. The force of your body almost has Simon staggering back a step.
You cling to him, arms wrapped around his neck, grip like a vice.
He clutches the back of your head, face buried into the crook of your neck. His other arm is wrapped around your torso, fingers digging into your side so hard it threatens to bruise. The scent of your strawberry body wash is almost overwhelming and he blinks back the tears that dot his waterline.
He deserves this.
His voice is rough when he speaks, a lump lodged in his throat.
"What do you use to cut a Roman emperor's hair?"
"Caesars." You giggle softly, hot breath caressing the sensitive skin of his neck. You angle your head slightly to peer down the hallway. "Did John come, too?"
"No, just one seat on the plane. Said he'd put a bullet in my ass if I didn't take it."
You snort. "I made pilaf. Should take some over so he won't have to get takeout."
"Your weird version of pilau?"
"It's the only correct version of pilaf."
"Eastern heathen."
You part, though your fingers stay tangled with his and you pull him into your apartment. "No dessert for you, then," you say as the door falls shut. "I hand-made curd snacks 'cause y'know, they don't export those. C'mon." You make your way to the kitchen as Simon is tugging off his boots. They thump loudly when he drops them on the hallway rug. There's another thump, softer and further away, and a series of chirps, a black mass of fur running over to him.
"Hello, gorgeous." Simon hangs his coat in its usual place and scoops your cat up, cradling her to his chest like an infant.
You grab a tupperware container from the overhead cabinet and scoop a good pile of pilaf into it straight from the multicooker on your kitchen counter. Simon watches you with a small smile tugging the corners of his lips up. You leave the spoon in the multicooker and place a plate next to it for Simon.
"I'm gonna drop this off. Be right back."
"Wait." Simon grabs your waist before you're out of reach and pulls you in close. His lips hover over yours for a brief moment and then they meet. He steals the breath from your lungs and you want to be frustrated at how he can always do that but you can't bring yourself to. Instead, you let yourself melt into him, trusting him to lead. His lips are chapped. When he pulls away, his lips curl into a grin. "Hi."
"Hi." You take a moment to pull yourself together, jab your fingers into his bicep for distracting you, and take off to drop off John's meal.
Simon places the cat down and fills his plate, grabs one for you and fills that too, and places them on the kitchen island. Two glasses of water, spoons, bread.
Even though he's starving, he waits until you're back to dig in.
You eat in silence. Simon is too busy scarfing down what he considers to be the most delicious plate of pilau he's ever had and you take a moment to type something on your laptop every now and then.
"Studying?" he asks suddenly, mouth full, another spoonful already raised to his lips. Horrible table manners but at this moment he doesn't care, all he does care about is a stomach full of warm food and a hot shower, and getting to curl up in bed with you.
He deserves this.
"Yeah. Gotta analyze a painting for class. Was just gonna eat and go to bed; finish this tomorrow."
So that's why you're wearing his shirt and sweatpants. He swallows the lump in his throat, mumbles a 'good', and scarfs down the last two spoonfuls of his meal.
He picks up the curd snack from the small plate you'd slid over. "What's this called?"
"Curd snack."
"No, back home."
You smile softly and tell him the word. Three syllables. They feel slightly off on his tongue as he tries to pronounce them the way you did. You repeat the word again, syllable by syllable and he repeats them. You lead and he follows. In the end, you only bury your face into your hands with a laugh and say his pronunciation is good enough and tell him to eat it before the chocolate glaze melts between his fingers. Simon makes a mental note to ask again tomorrow.
He bites into it. It's sweet. The taste spreads on his tongue and he greedily eats the rest, wiping his fingers into the napkin on the table.
"That good, huh?" You tease.
"Fuckin' fantastic."
"Well, if you ever come back with me, you can have the actual thing. They're divine. So many flavors."
"Yours are better."
"You tryin' to get into my pants or something?"
"Maybe."
You nod towards the bathroom with a laugh. "Go shower. Don't let the cat in; the little freak discovered she can drink water off the shower floor." You send a sharp look to the cat sitting on the windowsill and she meows. "It's soap water, you stupid cow." The cat meows again. "No."
Simon retreats into the bathroom for a shower that'll hopefully pull the tension from his shoulders. You quickly type out the few keywords you'll need to continue your homework in the morning and shut off your laptop. The dishes are piled into the sink to soak overnight with a generous amount of dish soap.
His shower is fast and by the time you've shut off all the other lights and put the rest of the pilaf to cool on the windowsill overnight, Simon is done. He cracks the door open to let the warm steam out. You intercept your cat before she can run into the bathroom and lock her in the bedroom.
Then, you find yourself standing at the bathroom door, watching the steam billow out. Simon pushes it open, inviting you in with the sweep of your hand. You shake your head.
"Too warm."
Simon stays there, leaning against the doorway with his shoulder, arms crossed over his chest. You let your eyes wander his body, the grooves of his muscles, the old scars and burns, everything that makes up Simon Riley. The black towel is handing sinfully low on his hips.
"My eyes are up here," he says, a hint of amusement in his voice and you snap your gaze up. "Like what you see?"
Heats floods into your cheeks and you turn on your heel to join the cat in the bedroom. Simon's laughter booms through your apartment.
He exits the bathroom not much later and you're already lounging under the covers, a book propped open on your lap. He leaves his towel draped over the kitchen barstool to dry.
An exhausted sigh escapes Simon once he sinks into your mattress. It's not even soft, more on the firm side, but compared to the military cots he so often finds himself sleeping on, it's like a cloud. The bedroom isn't big but it doesn't feel cramped. There are fairy lights strung under the ceiling to replace the uncomfortably white lights of your ceiling lamp. A fluffy sheepskin rug is placed on either side of the bed and another in front of your closet. Your bed is filled with soft pillows and plushies of various colors.
He deserves this.
Simon turns his head, hand on your knee to pull you closer to him. You whine lowly when he pulls you out of your comfortable reading position.
"Read to me," he mumbles, lips moving against the skin of your thigh. He punctuates his sentence with a chaste kiss.
"It's Hamlet. And I read Hamlet in high school. Not in English. So, no."
He sinks his teeth into your thigh and you feign a dramatic gasp. The book clatters to the floor as you shimmy down until you're face-to-face with him. There are no new scars on him (thank fuck), but the circles under his eyes are worryingly dark. Briefly, you find yourself wondering if he's ever had a restful sleep in his life.
"You should move in with me."
The breath hitches in your throat. He seems sincere, red-rimmed eyes staring at you with a hopeful glimmer. His fingers are tangled in yours, thumb gently caressing the back of your hand.
"Is this..." your voice is soft, barely above a whisper, "an invitation to stay after my student visa expires?"
"Yes."
You open your mouth and close it. Then—
"So you like me being a pain in your ass." Your grin is wide. Simon groans into your fluffy blanket. You sit up, slightly jostling Simon, and bounce up and down on the mattress. "You love me being a pain in your ass."
Your cat yowls loudly from the kitchen and you chuckle as you roll off the bed to go fill her water bowl. "You love me, Simon." You draw the word out for longer than necessary before disappearing with a cackle.
Simon sits up in bed, leaning forward just enough to see you filling the cat's water bowl with fresh cold water from the orange water filter you keep on the kitchen counter. The butterflies perched on his ribs for rest take flight again.
"Yeah, I think I do."
His confession is a whisper into the air, just his secret for now.
He deserves this.

𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲
Arwen is full of curiosity and wonder, seeing the world through the eyes of someone who’s never fully understood the boundaries between realms. She has an inherent gentleness and warmth, which animals sense immediately. People, however, find her a bit strange—her mannerisms and speech are just a touch “off” from normal societal norms, as she sometimes interacts with people as if they were animals, with a mix of cautious curiosity and respectful distance. Despite her innate empathy and kindness, she can be somewhat naive, and her lack of understanding of social conventions leads her into awkward or unintendedly humorous or even dangerous situations. She’s impulsive, sometimes to her detriment, acting on whims without considering the consequences, and this adventurous spirit has often led her into danger.
𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲
Arwen Woodlark is a creature of the Feywild, a realm where beauty is a living force, and emotions manifest as tangible things. Nymphs like Arwen are not born, nor do they grow as mortals do. Instead, they simply come into existence—conjured by the essence of beauty itself, as if the wild needed them to be. One day, Arwen simply was, emerging fully-formed as an elven-looking woman beneath the dappled light of ancient Feywild trees, her skin tinted with the soft blush of dawn, her hair a wild cascade of pink, and her eyes the color of pale, molten gold. She felt no confusion at her existence, no fear of being alone; to her, the vibrant world around her was home, and she was its daughter.
The first years of her life were spent wandering the endless wilds of her homeland, surrounded by the creatures and spirits that called it home. She was like a whisper in the woods, moving between the trees, learning to shift into animal forms and speak the language of plants. For decades, Arwen was content with these silent companions—the larks that sang in her ear, the foxes that nuzzled her hand, the ancient oaks that whispered of long-forgotten times. A particularly bold songbird even chose her as its friend, giving her the name “Arwen Woodlark.” She wore it with quiet pride, as it was the only name she’d ever known.
Arwen discovered she was different from other fey. Where others were content to dwell forever in the Feywild, hidden from the mortal realms, she felt a yearning for something she couldn’t name. Her curiosity grew like a new sapling each day, until she began to wonder about the worlds beyond her own. She started studying fragments of lore from travelers and wandering spirits, picking up knowledge of distant realms where strange beings—mortals—lived brief, flickering lives. She listened with fascination to stories of forests she had never touched, mountains that scraped skies she had never seen, cities that bustled with sounds and smells unknown to her.
It was the Feywild itself that eventually showed her the way, as if answering her longing with a gift. Through a twist of the veil between worlds, Arwen found she could step into the mortal realm, as easily as one might step through a curtain. The first time she crossed over, she marveled at everything—the weight of the air, the sounds of birds she didn’t recognize, the scent of earth that was somehow richer and more grounded than in the Feywild. But her joy was quickly tempered by a harsh lesson.
The first mortal she met was a wandering scholar, captivated by her beauty before she even had the chance to speak. But before she could warn him, she saw a strange glaze cloud his eyes, and he let out a strangled gasp. She didn’t understand at first, but when he stumbled blindly forward, she realized with horror that he could no longer see. It was then she learned that her beauty, so natural to the Feywild, was dangerous here. A nymph’s face could mesmerize, even blind, a mortal if they weren’t prepared—and in her naivete, she had no way to shield them from it ( She learns to control this rather well, and when she can’t, lesser restoration does wonders to remove blindness lol ).
Heartbroken by the harm she’d caused, Arwen withdrew from towns and villages, keeping mostly to the wilderness where her presence wouldn’t hurt anyone. She devoted herself to practicing control over her aura. For many years, her companions remained animals, who were drawn to her because her presence filled them with a feeling of peace. Birds nestled in her hair, wild foxes slept beside her, and she moved through forests like a shadow, unseen by mortal eyes.
In her solitude, she continued to learn the ways of the mortal world. She gathered discarded books from the edges of villages, pouring over them by moonlight until she taught herself enough of the common tongue to understand the basics of human language and society. She was enchanted by their ideas, their stories, the strange ways in which mortals thought and felt and dreamed. Yet, she also learned of their dangers.
One night, as she wandered through the woods with her insect-like wings visible, a group of men saw her and saw her as a magical creature of great value—something to be captured and sold. They chased her, hoping to profit off her “parts” by selling them to hags or wizards, and though she escaped, the experience left her wary. From that day on, she kept her wings hidden when near mortal settlements, pretending to be nothing more than an elf.
It was during her explorations of the mortal realm that Arwen stumbled upon Baldur’s Gate. The city was unlike anything she had ever seen—a living entity of stone and noise, filled with too many people, all rushing and bustling in ways she didn’t understand. She wandered the streets in awe, both overwhelmed and fascinated. Every corner seemed to hold a new mystery, every face a new story. But before she could fully comprehend the strangeness of it all, disaster struck.
In the chaos of the mind flayer invasion, Arwen was captured by creatures unlike any she’d ever encountered. She was infected with a mind flayer tadpole, a parasite that threatened to consume her from within and turn her into something monstrous.
She realized that she would need to journey with strangers also infected to find a cure, to understand what had been done to her and how she might stop it. For the first time, she would have to trust mortals, to navigate their world closely, despite the risks it posed to her and to them. She keeps her true nature hidden, pretending to be an elf, fearful that if they knew the truth, they would see her as nothing more than a fey creature—a thing to be feared, or worse, a prize to be captured.
Yet, beneath her anxiety and the unfamiliar weight of mortality pressing upon her, Arwen feels a glimmer of excitement. Here, at last, is her chance to truly understand the lives of mortals. She moves through her new companions with a gentle curiosity, studying their mannerisms, learning their stories, and marveling at their resilience. In her eyes, each of them is as wondrous as any creature in the Feywild, a spark of something fleeting and beautiful. She sees herself as their protector, and though she does not always understand their ways, she’s determined to keep them safe.
𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Arwen is likely to be in agreement with Lae’zel on most things in the beginning when it comes to the tadpole, since she seems to know everything about it and Arwen knows absolutely nothing. However, unlike Lae’zel, it is nearly impossible for Arwen to pass by people who need help.
While infected with the mindflayer tadpole, Arwen is unable to teleport to the Feywild, something that utterly devastates her when she realizes. The Feywild is her home, her mother. Which makes her urgency to remove it all the greater. Good luck convincing her to consume more tadpoles too.
A nymph’s kisses have healing properties, so whenever someone is hurt, she’s always trying to kiss them better. Nothing sexual or affectionate about it really, it’s just her thing.
Naturally, she smells of roses, lavender, and honeysuckle.

All the Movies I Watched in 2023
This is a very long post so buckle up! (And I'm sorry. I love movies.)
Ticket to Paradise (2022)
5/5. I expected this movie to be a bad cash-grab, but was surprised to find that it had plenty of redeeming qualities. Maybe that's attributable to the charm of Julia Roberts and George Clooney. A lighthearted watch that's enjoyable if you allow yourself to relax and not treat every movie like it has to be a cinematic masterpiece.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022)
4.5/5. I am so, so ready for a Knives Out, Sherlock Holmes-esque series. This movie was so, so entertaining, and presented a mystery that was different from the first in Knives Out, yet equally enjoyable.
Signs (2002)
4.5/5. Mel Gibson, Rory Culkin, and Joaquin Phoenix are absolutely amazing in this movie. Definitely one of Shyamalan's stronger films, but the ending is weak and doesn't support the weight of the rest of the movie. The concept of combining a tragic backstory for characters in a horror/thriller movie certainly isn't new, and by all accounts this movie could suffice without it, but I think it is a good contribution to its depth and themes. I was watching this in class and when M. Night Shyamalan appeared someone said, with full sincerity, "Who's that random Indian?" 🫥
The Theory of Everything (2014)
4.5/5. I love Eddie Redmayne, and his performance was pretty good. This biopic suffers from the pitfall of refusing to portray their subject as a human (someone who makes good and bad choices), opting instead to paint them as a god-like figure (insisting that they are incredibly moralistic even if it's clear that they aren't), which I think takes away from the intelligence of the film. There's no harm in showing Stephen Hawking as a normal person, and I think more biopics should have a little less bias. Good soundtrack.
Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)
2.5/5. It was fine. It was hard for me to stay invested or care about the characters. Pretty cliche, and didn't have much nuance considering the plot. I think you could live without ever seeing this movie.
Twilight (2008)
2/5. A great movie to play in the background while doing something else. That baseball scene is fantastic though. Romance is bad. I'm pretty sure Carlisle Cullen is Lestat. Alice Cullen's hair is my everything.
Senseless (1998)
2.5/5. This movie is bad, but somehow I can't help but love Marlon Wayans' surprisingly vulnerable performance. He has an effortless charm. David Spade and Matthew Lillard are two of my longtime favorites, and both of them give a solid delivery in their respective typecasts.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
4.5/5. More children's movies should take themselves seriously!!! More children's movies should treat their primary audience with respect and intelligence!!! Children are more intelligent than we give them credit for!!! Thank you to this movie for understanding that. The animation was incredible, such a beautiful watch. I've said this before and I will not be quieted: Puss is Zorro's fursona.
The Lost Boys (1987)
3.5/5. "AAA THEYRE COMING AAAA" I love Keifer Sutherland, and I wish there was more of him in this movie tbh. Kind of boring. I think this could be remedied with more Keifer Sutherland.
Grease (1978)
2/5. I honestly do not get the appeal of this movie. I like Sandy and love Frenchie, but the musical aspect is a little underwhelming and the story is (and I'm sorry) just godawful. I'm referring less to its problematic aspects and more how frustrating it is, misunderstandings and such.
LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
5/5. Peter Jackson Gets It. His love for the book series and the world of Middle Earth is just so evident in this movie's intricacies and imagination, yet it also strays away from the book in ways that I think are really good, such as some of the dialogue choices (Frodo's a little bit meaner in the books, which I don't think would make him very likable if we were actually hearing it be said.) I want to live in Bag End SO BAD.
LOTR: The Two Towers (2002)
5/5. Legolas, my beloved. A bridge between the first and last installments that doesn't feel plot-deprived. Balances perfectly between mounting the tension for the final installment and also maintaining its solitary plot points. I want to include my Letterboxd review because it's ~sO fUnNy~
LOTR: The Return of the King (2003)
5/5. Man. Wow. I cry. I cry. I cry. Literally cannot even give a review bc of the overwhelming mixture of emotions I feel when I think about this movie.
The gayest installment of the series, though that's a hard trophy to hold considreing the competition.
A League of Their Own (1992)
5/5. I do not think it is so bad to be a stereotypical underdog sports movie if you can approach the convention with a story as entertaining and genuinely as heartfelt as this. Very funny. Geena Davis!!!!! Geena Davis!!!!!!! Many of these women are lesbians in real life and although that was conveniently left out of the movie... you can still tell. I was scared that the conversation between Geena Davis and Tom Hanks meant a stupid romance subplot was going to happen, but thankfully this movie has too much dignity for that.
Suburban Gothic (2014)
2.5/5. I didn't really enjoy this movie because there wasn't a single strong aspect of it that I could rely on to forgive it. All of the characters were unlikable, the plot was strange and inconsistent (and I was upset because I was looking forward to it in this aspect). However, Jeffrey Combs is his usual amazing self and the humor is pretty good at times.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (rewatch) (2016)
3.5/5. I watched this when it came out and it was one of my favorite movies. It still holds a special place in my heart for the surprising breach of conventions it makes. Newt, as a leading man in a big-budget film, is shy, sensitive, and polite. I love him to death. (This is the movie that started my love for Eddie Redmayne) However, considering that it is a big-budget blockbuster, it's only allowed to go so far with its breach of conventions.
It's very beautiful to watch. The romance between Newt and Tina actually feels like a romance, which I find is surprisingly hard for movies to do. It's also the strongest installment in the series, and it goes downhill from there.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (rewatch) (2018)
3/5. I wanted to like this movie so bad when I first watched it, and I do, sort of. I love everything in this movie that replicates the last movie: Newt's characterization, Tina's characterization, the visual effects, the beasts!!!!!, the time period, the worldbuilding, the sophisticated air. I also love the addition of Newt's brother and Yusuf Kama (William Nadylam is just incredible!). And that's where my love for this movie ends. Everything else annoys me. Like, I understand that Queenie loves Jacob so much she'd do anything for him, but I find it hard to believe she'd be convinced by Grindelwald. She's smarter than that. And, I don't really care about the Dumbledore, Lestrange, and Credence Barebone/Nagini storyline. They just aren't that captivating. This is where the series starts to tip from an equal balance between the beasts and 1920s Wizarding World Politics into more WW Politics, which makes me sad.
Fantastic Beasts:The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
2/5. This movie makes me so fucking mad. Out of all the movies in the series, this one is the worst. It's not even about Newt Scamander anymore! If you wanted to make a Dumbledore/Grindelwald origin story, just make a separate movie series! I wanted to see beasts! I wanted to see Newt travel the world! Goddamn this movie for taking that away from me, and every other Scamander fan!!!! The last shot of this movie is of fucking Albus Dumbledore, for christ's sake!!! I just don't care!!! Fuck this!!! WHY.
I'm actually so sad.
(J. K. Rowling can't write for shit and she's a TERF. Neil Gaiman can write for shit and is a trans ally. Coincedence? I think not.)
I think Mads Mikkelsen is great as Grindelwald. He delivers a sophisticated and somewhat sinister performance to this movie that I think does more service to it than Johnny Depp's campiness, which isn't really right for this type of movie. If the stars had aligned differently, I would have liked Mikkelsen to play Grindelwald from the start. But not even that could have saved this shit movie.
The Power of the Dog (2021)
5/5. Beautiful and visually captivating. Very nuanced plot that I will not pretend to understand in its entirety, though I'm sure a rewatch would do it justice in that regard. This is not a movie you want spoiled, so look it up with caution. Jane Campion? More like Jane CHAMPION. Definitely recommend.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)
4/5. Maybe a controversial take, but I actually really enjoyed this movie, as someone who hasn't read the book. Maybe I would enjoy it less so if I did read the book, (which I do eventually plan on doing) and I understand people's complaints about the movie. I don't think this movie (and the Hobbit series as a whole) should be considered with the same judgment as the LOTR series: despite being made by the same director, their appeal and intended demographic is vastly different. While LOTR's appeal was more based on its faithfulness to the books and authenticity, and intended demographic is more longtime LOTR/fantasy fans (nerds), the Hobbit trilogy's intended appeal is more of a meatheaded likability intended to appease more widespread audiences (everyone who's not a nerd). I don't think it lives up to LOTR, and I do think a singular movie should have been made more in the vein of LOTR (faithfulness to source material and avoidance of blockbuster stereotypes), but this movie is still fun. The performances are good and overall I can't hate this movie.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)
4/5. This is probably my favorite in the Hobbit series. The romance between Kili and Tauriel is pretty solid. Bard is fantabulous. Smaug is an absolutely terrifying villain. Bilbo is a Chad. The story never feels stretched out or annoying. I dunno, I just like it. :)
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014)
4.5/5. Again, I don't expect anybody to agree with my opinions on the Hobbit trilogy. I just find them fun. This one is heartbreaking. But still fun!
Mikey and Nicky (1976)
3.5/5. Very interesting to watch this as a Columbo fan.
I expected this movie to be kind of boring, and while there are some slow bits, it's very entertaining throughout. The tension simmers on the back burner for almost the entire movie until the end, when it boils over and everything catches on fire. I think it's good that there are moments where the tension takes a backseat to let some of the other themes develop, particularly regarding the character development and relationship between Mikey and Nicky. I also love this movie's concept. Def recommend.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
4/5. I didn't expect too much from this movie, and found that it was good. Very entertaining. Johnny Depp is wonderful as Jack Sparrow (this is the type of movie where his campiness is appreciated). I love pirates. I'm so annoyed about the "You like pain? Try wearing a corset." Line sm. Like... they're called stays in that time period, for one thing. Secondly, they shouldn't hurt if you're wearing them properly. Like my god that line was so written-by-a-man it hurts. Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley were great. Fun.
Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)
5/5. If people have told you to watch this movie, go watch this movie. If people haven't told you to go watch it, I'm telling you right now. Animation is gorgeous and it maintains and elevates all the appeal of the first movie. The diversity just exists in this movie, because this movie understands that diverse people just exist. PLEASE go watch it.
Bridesmaids (2011)
4.5/5. This is a movie for the girls who are morally grey and fear they may be a bad person and are just trying their best to trudge through a burned out existence. Emotional aspect is just as strong as the comedic aspect, and they transition in and out of each other really well. Just... skip the bridal dress scene.
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989)
5/5. One of the most entertaining and lovable movies I've ever seen. A good watch for when you need to clear your head and just relax.
In the Heat of the Night (1967)
5/5. Intelligent and revolutionary-for-its-time movie that still has modern relevance. Sidney Poitier deserved an Oscar for this, and I'm really sad he didn't get one. (However he did get a British Academy Award for this movie.) Love the concept, though I do wish the racial aspect had been carried through to the end, as it kind of drops off in favor of the murder-mystery aspect, culminating in a resolution that's essentially just "I guess I'm not racist anymore because you're really good at solving crimes." I think Virgil deserved a better end to his story.
Rango (2011)
5/5. This is one of those rare children's movies that feels older, mostly because it takes itself seriously and delivers on that 100%. Animation is wonderful.
War of the Worlds (2005)
3/5. It's sort of fun, but so annoying and underwhelming that it's not even worth it. Tom Cruise's character is supposed to develop but we never really see that. Dakota Fanning screams so much. I was pretty scream-y when I was a little girl, but not even I screamed that much.
Pride & Prejudice (2005)
4.5/5. Maybe I do believe in love.
I think this is like the Hobbit trilogy version of book adaptations: not totally faithful to source material but pretty enjoyable. Had me sobbing.
I always get a little annoyed when period pieces feel like they have to sacrifice historical accuracy in costuming and customs in favor of appealing to a modern audience because I think audiences are smarter and more open-minded than they give us credit for.
Stand by Me (1986)
4/5. Even though this isn't really horror, you can definitely tell it's a Stephen King movie: self-insert writer character, set in the pacific northwest or northern east coast, gratuitous 1950s-ness, psychopath bully, and bad parents.
This movie has so much heart behind it. It's such a genuine and heavy portrayal of boyhood and the emotional topsy-turviness of male adolescence. I can't say female adolescence because there's hardly any women in this movie at all. I think it's fine if it's a boyhood-centric movie (but when did boyhood mean that women don't exist?) but it is by no means a commentary on adolescence as a whole.
Clue (rewatch) (1985)
4.5/5. Witty humor and a well-crafted mystery. Very fun, even if it falls short in some of its intended appeal. You know what never falls short? Tim Curry.
Batman Begins (2005)
3.5/5. My least favorite installment in the Dark Knight trilogy. Just not as appealing as the other two in terms of tone and storytelling ability.
The Dark Knight (2008)
4.5/5. My FAVORITE installment in the trilogy. What can I say about this that hasn't already been said before? I'll tell you: YEAAHHH GARY OLDMAN!! I LOVE GARY OLDMAN!!!!
This movie is THE quintessential neo-noir movie.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
4/5. Again, what can I say that hasn't already been said before?
SPOILERS: I'm so glad Gary Oldman didn't die because I was almost certain he was going to. Also I love when Batman reveals his identity to Gordon by quoting what Gordon said to him when he was a kid, and of COURSE Gordon realizes because that's just the amazing person he is.
Apostle (2018)
4.5/5. I get that not everybody thinks this movie is good, but I can't help but love it. I think part of it is that it holds a lot of personal appeal (that being Michael Sheen, in case my 10,000 Good Omens posts didn't allude to that).
Here's a list of stuff I liked:
Michael Sheen
Dan Stevens (Now I know he'll never leave me.)
The solid romance subplot.
Michael Sheen
Religious symbolism.
Cults.
Solid historical accuracy in terms of clothing.
I liked this movie up until the very end, where it kinda feels underwhelming. I didn't like the supernatural aspect, which kind of undercut the themes of the movie.
1917 (2019)
5/5. I made a whole slide presentation on why this movie is amazing so I think I'll just link it here.
If you don't want to read all of that, just know that this movie is, a) incredible with historical costuming, b) an effective anti-war film, c) soundtrack is wonderful, d) it will rip your heart out and you will like it. You will like it.
Young Guns (rewatch) (1988)
3/5. A classic slightly-historically-accurate cowboy movie of the eighties. Keifer Sutherland :). Kinda gay. It's a bit boring and forgettable, and the romance aspect isn't that good. If I ever gave it another rewatch, I think I would just turn it off after Billy shoots that traitor, turn it back on for the peyote scene for a laugh, and then turn it off again.
Master and Commander (2003)
4.5/5. My rating may lead you to believe that I like this movie somewhat, but not very much. However, I love this movie so much I can hardly put it into words. There's just something about it. I didn't know I was starving until this movie fed me, to be dramatic. I love how precise it is with historical accuracy. I love the characters. I love the strings duet. I love James D'Arcy. I love Paul Bettany and his flightless birds (GOD I love him in this movie. Doctor characters in period pieces are always my favorites). I love bros. I want to live in this movie, it's so cozy. I want to be a sailor for the British Royal Navy in 1812 so damn bad.
I would recommend this movie. It happens to fit in a personal niche of mine, so I think it's the greatest thing ever, but I understand that not everybody has that same niche lol.
Pride and Prejudice (1995)
5/5. Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I prefer this miniseries to the 2005 movie. Maybe it's just because of its intense historical accuracy and closer allegiance to the book (if 2005 is the Hobbit trilogy of P&P adaptations, this is the LOTR trilogy), but this series really makes the book come to life. I think it's mostly because it has way more time to tell the story. Jennifer Elhe is so good as Elizabeth: her sly glances and clever deliveries have made me, a straight girl, fall hopelessly in love with her. Colin Firth falls in love. Just look:
I can't breathe. Look at him.
Damn this series is good. Definitely recommend 100000000%.
Surf's Up (2007)
4.5/5. So damn funny. A good story about penguins surfing to Green Day. A fun relaxer.
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
4.5/5. A Christmas classic that I had never seen before. It has charm. It has a Good Omens reference 44 years before it was published ("angel" being confused to mean something gay)
Off Track (Ur Spår)
3.5/5. A Hallmark-y Swedish drama-comedy about an alcoholic single mother who is trying to turn her life around for her daughter, her ex-husband and his new wife, her brother (an amateur athlete training to compete in the Vasa race--a cross-country skiing competition), and his issues with his wife and their inability to conceive. It's not the greatest movie ever made, but what it does have is heaps of heart. Lisa is a character with so much determination, and it's incredibly satisfying when (spoiler) she crosses the finish line--the final person to do so--and she is given a celebratory wreath and the announcer calls her the true hero of the race. I cried. She's been at the bottom of the rank with every chance to turn back, but she endures, just as she does in life. Love her. Her brother on the other hand is sorta scummy and remains scummy throughout the entire movie. It's very easy to not root for him because his arc never really has a resolution. Klara deserves better.
Man of Steel
3.5/5. It's enjoyable. Henry Cavill is perfectly cast as Superman. Love how much of a sweet country boy he is. I kinda hate the way Lois Lane is written, but at the same time she has her moments.
Final Thoughts: I've watched a lot of really popular, big-budget blockbuster movies this year (e.g. LOTR series, Dark Knight series, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.). In the past I would have avoided movies like these because I always assume that I won't enjoy these types of movies. However, I think this year I was less over-assumptive and was able to sit back and enjoy movies without expecting every single movie to be the greatest thing I've ever seen.
I watched a lot of "dudebro" and male-centric movies in 2023, and though I enjoyed a good number of them, I'd like to watch more movies that are female-centric/feminist/have a good portrayal of women in 2024. I think I enjoyed male-centric movies like Master and Commander because of their nuanced characterization, mostly stemming from the fact that they were written by men and about men. (I don't think it's a bad thing to enjoy movies that celebrate masculinity, like Master and Commander, as long as it's not misogynistic in its celebration.) Some of the movies I watched that feature women are written by men, and therefore the women were underdeveloped and fall into the misogynistic storytelling pitfalls that portray women as stereotypes (whether conscious or not), which is why I'd like to see more movies written by women and about women, to see an honest and nuanced portrayal of women.

Leah Info
Name: Leah Kravitz
Gender & Pronouns: Genderqueer (She/Ze)
Orientation: Lesbian
Age: 36
FC: Natasha Lyonne
Background
From the word go Leah was screwed as she was born the second daughter of her father, Joseph, and the first of the woman he had been cheating on his wife, April with. April stayed with Joseph but insisted that the mistress had to go, and that nobody but them would know Leah wasn't April's, to which Joseph obliged. Despite this April resented Leah as a symbol of her own failing marriage she refused to address.
Leah's childhood was a pretty normal middle class Brooklyn one, though with her older brother Aaron preferred over her, and once she was five her new little sister Zoey took the spotlight. Leah was and felt incredibly ignored as she tried to show off her drawings and homework and the barbies she had dressed up to her parents, and eventually she started acting out to try to get their attention, only to get in trouble instead.
Things only got more heated at home as she got older and started getting crushes on girls, which was something her parents weren't accepting of and wanted nothing to do with, eventually in her teen years threatening to kick her out if she didn't get a boyfriend, to which she'd get one and keep him as long as it took for them to calm down then make up an excuse to dump him. This happened so often she had to start picking up boys from different schools because of the rumors spread about her at her own.
Also in highschool she was struggling with getting anything more than a passing grade due to her untreated inattentive adhd and abuse at home. To cope she started hanging with the stoners and burnouts and became one of them. She kept getting in trouble, and got involved in a toxic cycle of rumors and gossip, but to her scorn felt like love.
Her parents forced her to attend university, but she took the chance to spite them and do something she wanted to and took her major in philosophy, which they didn't approve of. She didn't focus a lot on the schoolwork itself, though did pretty well thanks to the flexibility of her professors. Instead she was enjoying the nightlife and ended up taking a job as a bartender as her parents stopped paying for anything other than the school fees.
Out of university she cut out her parents and tried to establish a career in painting which failed to take off, keeping her stuck struggling with her bartending job. Her friends and clubbing only added to her stress as drama kept breaking out with her at the center of it and her relationships were equally as dramatic.
By her late twenties she was sick of it all, dyed her hair red, and moved both houses and jobs away from where all her old friends were. She just wanted a fresh start. She wanted a chance to figure out a life for herself that was more than just smoking, tending to others, and sleeping.
She got back to her painting, made a new group of friends, even got a girlfriend, Eve, and she still wasn't happy as she was drowning in bills and could feel in the wind that if these people got bored of her they'd leave. She tried to pretend everything was okay.
She tried until her friends all bought into a lie that she had stolen money from one of them, the lie started by the one she got along with the least who then replaced her in the dynamic after Leah got kicked out. To put the cherry on top she found out Eve was cheating on her.
Her whole new start felt even worse than her last start. It was soul crushing. Late one night she got dressed in her favorite clothes and got on a subway not expecting to come back, in it she thought over her life, and she just wished she'd walk off the subway to a world where her life was happy. Stepping off with that intention, she unknowingly stepped into another universe.
Only when she walked straight into an alternate version of herself who was still blonde on the street did she realize something was different. She freaked out as did the other Leah who had been on her way home from the hospital where she was with her mom. Neither of them knew what the fuck was happening but blonde Leah let Leah come back to her apartment.
Leah found out that this alternate version of herself was a professional artist and had been raised by her birth mom (the fact April wasn't her birth mom was news) and overall was happy, though struggling with her mom's cancer. Leah shared her own life experiences and for once felt heard.
They were able to offer each other the much needed support they each needed, but didn't know how to ask anybody for. Leah got a bit better. Blonde Leah had a shoulder to cry on.
This didn't answer though how Leah had gotten here in the first place, so eventually, knowing she might not be able to come back, Leah returned to the subway and stepped through its doors trying to get back home. On the other side her phone started buzzing with missed texts from her landlord, the last one being an eviction notice from two weeks ago. Once the subway reached its stop, she stepped through trying to get back to the universe with the blonde Leah, and it worked judging by the fact her data plan stopped working again.
Now technically homeless and work nothing to lose she decided to try exploring her strange new power some more, and quickly learned she could go to pretty much any universe she wanted, but that if she wasn't careful she'd land herself in ones immediately dangerous or with no easy escape.
In her multiverse travels she met one other person like her, Elias Acker, who had been at it for around ten years when they met. He took her under his wing and taught her nearly everything he knew about their powers and the multiverse. They also became incredibly close friends thanks to their shared experiences and generally similar vibes.
It took quite a while for her to realize that Elias was dangerous, both to himself and the multiverse, but when she watched him strand countless people in the wrong universes without any concern beyond if he and Leah were having fun ze called it quits on going along with it and confronted him, only to find out that the only thing he cared about (or at least so he claimed) was his own entertainment. She was disgusted and left, going off to return everyone to where they're supposed to be.
Since then she's been traveling the multiverse mainly on her own, occasionally picking up a companion for a while or bringing the cat ze's picked up with her, and going around exploring and helping where she can. She also follows Elias' trail of chaos to fix what she can. Despite her bravo she's still got a lot to learn about the multiverse and still is running from her past.
Personality
She's a lot to handle, prone to sardonics and a tendency to stick her nose into things that don't necessarily involve her. She's got a crass tongue and all too casual additude about the events and people around her. All of this to cover a deeply lonely and desperate to be loved heart that cares all too much about everything despite the fact that nearly all of it keeps kicking her down.
A rather creative and introspective soul she struggles to express the wholeness of herself, so settles to just show parts of herself. However it does let her think of unconventional solutions to problems, and understand the implications of the stranger things that she might encounter and keep an open mind about them.
At the end of the day, she is trying to do good in the world. She wants to do whatever she can. She doesn't trust most people want to do the same, and that motivates her to try to fix things. She's not gentle or nice in what she does, but she is kind.
Seeing endless versions of herself who've made all the same and all the different mistakes she possibly ever could have, has provided a strange, intimate, and uncomfortable knowledge of herself to herself. Sometimes she feels bad for her other selves, sometimes she's embarrassed of them, sometimes she's mad at them as she watches them make the same stupid choices, but she always sees herself in them.
Powers
Reality Hopping: She can travel the multiverse by going through anything that looks like a doorway, gateway, or opening. If unspecified ze arrives in a random universe in a random location near a similar gateway. She can specify what universe she's traveling to by qualities (such as what year it's in, human population levels, if magic is present, etc), by people she knows or knows of (The one with the Jane Doe I met last week), or by any name she knows the universe by. If she specifics a universe absolutely impossible to exist she arrives in a dark void. She can bring people with her as long as they have a grasp on her through some means and goes through the same gateway in up to five seconds of her. (This power inspired by @chaosmultiverse)
Multiversal Consistent: In every single universe some version of her has existed. They might be dead in the present year, or might exist in the future of the universe. They share her basic traits and have a name that at least sounds like hers if not the same name. They don't necessarily have to be human, or even sentient. This is what connects Leah to the whole multiverse.
Abilities
Marksmanship: She has basic gun training with pistols and rifles.
Mixology: She is a talented mixologist.
Multilingualism: English, Yiddish, basic Spanish.
Equipment
Throughout threads she might gather helpful items. This will be updated as items are obtained.
Universal Translator: Picked up in a magical universe, this earing lets her understand anything she hears and lets anybody understand what she is saying.
Phone: Has a cross universe data plan. Extended battery life. Requires a signal.
Glock 17: A standard, though impossible to trace back to her, glock plus ammunition.
Chalk: For on the fly gate creation.
Polaroid Camera: For remembering where she's been and who she's met.

Dex Vicente Rosenhein
warnings : yandere behavior incoming but not too prevalent yet, this is more of a generic and vague introductory blurb, stalking if you squint, violence, monsters
Dex isn't the golden retriever type at first glance. First impressions are lukewarm at best, at worst it devolves into a fist fight. If you even notice him at all, he's just another quiet, bitter nerd keeping to himself in a corner, growing through middle and high school alongside you at a distance.
Dex had always been bad at socializing, and he never seemed to get better at it like his peers did. He also never cared to suck up to teachers or follow rules that he found inconvenient or boring, so he was offered no protection from the school's faculty when his smart mouth and short fuse got him into trouble with his fellow students, which was often.
Skipping school and constant fighting was only barely tolerable, but like some kinda 80's kid he wore skates everywhere he could get away with it, which is most places when you don't care too much about getting in trouble. Whether you noticed him much or not in middle and high school, or maybe even tried to get to know him (if you were hoping to upset your parents it would have worked), he disappeared from school without so much as a goodbye or forwarding address.
It isn't until years later that you encounter him again in college, the slouched, lanky figure topped by a pair of tall, ivory horns that occasionally flash with electric sparks of blue is hard to forget. For someone who tries so desperately to blend into the background, how starkly he stands out both in height and appearance is one of the biggest inconveniences of his life.
Dex seems startled when you approach to say hi and catch up; he's the only person from your high school you've seen here and you're curious as to whether the rumors that circulated about him having been expelled have any merit. Surprisingly he doesn't seem as apprehensive to your attention as you remember him being, and he's amiable enough to disclose that he moved after the death of a family member (but not much else).
You see him around a lot more in college then you did in high school, you share a few classes, have the same free time and tend to study or hang out in the same places. He's still bad at socializing, but it's clear that he's at least trying with you, however awkward the results may be. If you're not perceptive enough to see the subtle shift in his expression that softens his eyes when he looks at you, the sparks that run up his horns are a more obvious tell.
College life continues in a steady pace of study, leisure and youthful amounts of partying (which is to say, a surplus). Another surprise comes in finding out that Dex also frequents these parties despite his aggressively introverted nature. It's at one such party in the late fall, right on the cusp of becoming winter when the air is chilly but not yet biting, when he comes up to greet you where you are idling by the makeshift bar. His ice blue eyes glow intensely under the colorful strobing lights overhead, and his gaze feels more piercing than usual. If you had to hazard a guess, the red cup in his hand is likely far from his first. He isn't tripping over himself in a joyful stupor or letting the booze make his mouth run, but he's looser, relaxed and boldened enough to let his gaze wander over your face and hold your gaze freely when normally he seems physically incapable of looking you in the eye.
He's pulled away by friends after a bit, leaving you in the crowd. You're considering going for another drink when you're almost knocked off balance by a toweringly tall figure bumping into you from behind; you almost expect it to be Dex again, but instead a much burlier man is there, eyeing you very brazenly. His apology is an insincere attempt at a pickup which you're quick to reject; the douchiness just oozes off of him in waves. He's pushy, but eventually leaves, glowering at you in a way that gives you the slightest of chills.
The encounter just ruined the whole party for you honestly, so you call it a night. It's a bit earlier than you would normally leave but the night is not young by any means and the temperature shows it. The party was held in one of the college neighborhoods just outside the campus itself so walking back to your dorm was the obvious choice in your state. You tuck your coat tighter around you and start the trek.
As your set your slightly inebriated pace, you can't shake the feeling that you're being watched. As the walk drags on, the rustling of leaves in the wooded strip across from the row of houses you're walking in front of feels less like wind and more like something malicious, following you, waiting for... For what, you couldn't be sure, considering you've been well and truly alone and defenseless for the past five minutes at least.
As if prompted by your thoughts, a low growl rumbles out from the trees, shadows obscuring the source until it steps closer; an impossibly huge wolf is prowling towards you with teeth bared. Other than being at least three times bigger than wolves are supposed to be, there's something unsettlingly human in the hatred in its eyes. Your eyes are locked together, the tension in the air keening until its broken by the wolf snapping at you and surging forward.
You startle, trying to push your shaking limbs to movement but between the shock and alcohol, you only manage to fling yourself onto the ground, just barely out of the way of the wolf as it tears through the space with murderous intent. It whips around, another growl making the air shake; there's no way you'll be able to get away a second time. It moves slower this time, relishing in seeing you trembling on the ground below it, its fangs drip as its mouth opens to sink into your neck-
A brilliant blue light suddenly fills the street alongside a violent crackling sound. The wolf above you jerks and screeches out a whimper of pain as it convulses and falls to its side, disoriented but not incapacitated. You take the opportunity to scramble to your feet and take off; a chance to live has been presented and like hell you'll waste it. Behind you, you hear a snarl and the sound of paws bigger than your head pounding against the pavement after you. You risk a look over your shoulder just as a second figure, this one definitely human, rushes from seemingly out of nowhere and tackles the thing away from you, even with a size difference equivalent to that of a rat and cat. The blue light from before flashes again, and you turn your head back to keep from being blinded, the last thing you see before you sprint around the corner that puts you in sight of your dorm building is the tall, shadowed silhouette of a man with tall, pale horns.

. . . dependent original character for nightrestrp : JACOB OH \
more links : pinterest. connections. playlist.
[ song kang, cis man, he/him ] - was that JACOB OH i saw by the lighthouse today? i heard that the TWENTY-NINE year old who has been in nightrest for THEIR ENTIRE LIFE and works as a/an MATH TEACHER has a reputation of being GENTLE, but also WITHDRAWN. they reside in ASHMORE & people in town usually associate them with A BOOKSHELF FILLED WITH TEXTBOOKS, KIND EYES AND A SMILE TO MATCH, & NEUTRAL COLORED CLOTHING . let’s hope the killer doesn’t go after them next.
BASIC INFORMATION:
FULL NAME: Jacob Seo-Joon Oh
NICKNAMES: Jake
DATE OF BIRTH: March 1st, 1994 (29)
ETHNICITY: Korean
FACE CLAIM: Song Kang
HAIR & EYE COLOR: Dark Brown
HEIGHT: 6’2"
TATTOOS & PIERCINGS: multiple tattoos
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: unlabeled
OCCUPATION: math teacher
LANGUAGES SPOKEN: english, italian, korean
BACKGROUND:
Born into a wealthy family who resides in Stoughton Estates. His parents own a large tech company with headquarters in the US and Korea. His parents were alright, certainly not the most attentive towards him but Jacob grew up having a fairly normal life. He was mainly raised by a lot of nannies and maids, because of his parents profession. His father worked a lot and his mother probably cared a bit too much about their families image, always the type to go off to brunches and dinners every day.
Was a bit quiet and shy growing up, was very into his studies as a kid, and was never the kind to cause trouble. Extremely intelligent, Jacob excelled in subjects like math and science as a young child, at the top of his class throughout school. While he was more studious, he also played football starting from middle school all the way until graduation, definitely the athletic type. Though he was known as popular and charming, he never had any girlfriends or flings, making excuses that he was too busy or focused on his grades. He'd even go on a few blind dates, or be asked out by girls, but he'd turn everyone down and cut his dates short. It wasn't that he wasn't interested in them, it was just he felt like it wasn't something he particularly wanted, football and grades a higher priority.
Top of his class and considered a star student at Wardell Academy, he went to Harvard after high school, getting in on early acceptance and also the starting quarterback for the football team during his undergraduate years. He'd grow out of his shell more during his time away, going to parties and even a few dates, though he still would never have a girlfriend after years away. Though he had a spot in his family's company waiting for him, he chose not to join the company, instead wanting to become a teacher, getting his bachelor's in mathematics, and his master's in business before moving back home and getting a place in Ashmore.

he's a virgin :/ not by choice it's just never happened but he's also not embarrassed about it (like i am) he's not a virgin anymore thank u kat
has probably gone on a bunch of dates, set up by friends or his parents even, but nothing ever sticks and he usually doesn't follow through with a second date
he does like to go out after work and drink, but isn't the type to get drunk and make dumb mistakes
has a few tattoos, all very artsy and things he gave a lot of thought
super smart, like super super smart. with books and school. otherwise, he's a little silly and dumb (especially when it comes to girls)
very much a rule-follower. probably because of his upbringing but he's just not the kind to rebel
with his family being wealthy he naturally has a trust fund, but he never talks about it despite it being obvious
he's a very gentle person, doesn't really raise his voice or get mad. maybe a bit naive, but does sort of see the good in most people, unless they're really awful
