Welp, the fair was a bit of a bang and a bit of a bust. We did not go yesterday when the Big Pacer Race was happening at the peak of the fair, so it's all just expensive food and rides. But! I managed to luck out and bump into these two girls who were hacking their ponies in the show arena. These lovely mares and one goat were all the animals we got to see today. (This doesn't count the lots and lots of dogs people brought. I did not realize the fair was dog friendly.)

It was really refreshing to get to sit outside in the beautiful day. You could not hear the fair at all over here! It was so wonderful not hearing anything but a panting puppy and the occasional pony.

I miss ponies. So very much.

Trying my sidepull rigged the right way with a pony sized headstall so that I actually have poll pressure. I may end up playing with a longer shanked hackamore for a bit too, to look at different leverage options and see what allows for the most refined cues for us as a pair

Ah man. I think I figured out what triggered my me/CFS. It was probably when I got h1n1 as a kid and was nearly hospitalized for a high fever. Which means I've had this longer than I thought. As in, it's been 15 years of this nonsense.
