it's hater anon again! ykw? I think i'm just tired of the meme-ification of fandom at this point. yeah, the incorrect quotes and the (blank) as text posts posts are funny and I like them as much as the next person, but it becomes old when people do more than take those at face value and instead use them to flatten out characters, leaving no room for the nuance of motivations and personality that is present within the text.

but honestly, I'm just being a bitter old bitch at this point. I hope ppl in fandom do what they want forever and ever and never let some nasty old anon get them down.

I feel ya. I've definitely felt bitter about the way fandom refuses to engage with the text but in my case, it was mostly about how people won't address the historical themes and take the characters out of the context in which they were formed and it's just so boring to me

I like memes and I like making them but if that's all there is I can see why that would be frustrating. I wish there was more meta to read on a daily basis but of course that takes a lot of effort and maybe people just don't know what to say or how to unpack things

I think it's okay to be bitter honestly. keep people on their toes and don't let them get too complacent. there needs to be discourse to some extent because at least it keeps things alive and exciting. but yeah again people can do whatever they want at the end of the day
