Yeah so i jumped on the "Butcher Vanity" wagon, but i haven't seen a single one with our (likely) cannibalistic famine deity.

I did get off track at some point and went more horror with it, and i will admit that the song did instill several headcanons into me regarding Heket here, but im actually quite pleased with this for the most part.

sorry ive been a while without touching a game but i was just remembering how incredibly lightweight the 'violence' route is for markus actually. like the harshest you can go is setting fire to inanimate objects, killing maybe 3 or 4 guards/cops before fully facing military powers and, at the actual most aggressive, just nuclear clear out the town (which certainly is the most extreme but as i see it not even close to how just ruthlessly bloody it couldve been in comparison to what we see the human side get away with)

See the thing is about all the things happening in Gaza right now is that it’s not an isolated conflict. It doesn’t affect just the Palestinian people. I’m American and I watched as 70+ of my peers and professors got brutalized by police for standing in solidarity with Palestine on Thursday, and we’re not the only college this has happened at. Hundreds of thousands of people have died in the past 7 months, including international doctors, refugees, journalists and reporters who hailed from all over. This genocide doesn’t just affect Palestine. It affects the world at large, so please keep your eyes on what’s happening in Gaza, Rafah, and wherever Israel decides to target next.

in my frustration re: the backlash against feminism i've seen online and irl, i've toed the line making comparisons to white privilege in a last-ditch attempt to appeal to left-leaning sensibilities and... idk, convince people that male privilege is real and it is based on perception of others and perception of the self.
and it appears to work in that when confronted with a brown, gay man (i find i usually have to mention this) talking about how racism works - that it is not some inherent, biological trait that makes white people "white" and capable of benefitting from their whitness and that *all* people who are perceived as white, no matter how wonderful and non-racist they are benefit from white privilege - liberal or leftist white people tend to shut down and tensely concede their point.
except that the left is rife with racism, and i don't mean white people vs everyone else. i mean a lack of understanding of class dynamics, an underestimation of how pervasive antiblackness is, a complete ignorance to antisemitism and the limits of the white vs non-white binary.
like sure, people might shut up if i come in and point out that there is there no word for the intersection of racism and misandry. And how despite this, when we talk about police brutality and state violence, we almost always focus on how these things affect men of colour.
the whole thing speaks to a lack of understanding of critical race theory, and my sense is that people only listen to me because they want to performatively appear as though they're listenining. if you really understood what white feminism is, you would know that you cannot replace "white" with "cis". the term "white feminism" already accounts for an ignorance of gender-diverse experience because racialized women are subject to a different standard than white women, and some cultures with differing systems of gender had the gender binary imposed on them by white colonizers.
it makes me just, absolutely insane to see men, especially white men, quoting bell hooks essays on masculinity where she writes the oppression of black men in a white supremacist state and misconstrue those points as being somehow about misandry when they are first and foremost about racism. even her wikipedia article contains this quote: "Allegiance to sexist thinking about the nature of leadership creates a blind spot that effectively prevents masses of black people from making use of theories and practices of liberation when they are offered by women" so like, it's not even that people are unfamiliar with her work, it feels intentional that they're mining it for any statement that can position men as victims who just need to be loved on more *by women* and surely that will end patriarchy which btw "patriarchy affects men too it affects men too!!!" and who is doing patriarchy to men???? the answer is right there in the word...

26 Tammuz 5784 (31 July- 1 August 2024)
In 5684, a group of antisemitic German nationalists attempted to overthrow the government of the Weimar Republic in what came to be known as the Beer Hall Putsch. The main organizer of the coup attempt, a former private in the German army by the name of Adolf Hitler (may his name be erased) was arrested several days later, put on trial for treason, and sentenced to five years in prison. He was released after less than nine months, but not before dictating an extremely self-aggrandizing and pompous autobiography.
Hitler’s book was published on the 26th of Tammuz 5685. The book was full of his hatred of Jews in particular and non-Germans in general. For years, it sold poorly and Hitler was massively in debt due to the expenses if its printing. Then a decade after his disastrous farce of a coup, he was elected chancellor with the aid of Germany’s mainstream conservatives, who thought he was tool they could easily control.
After his election, the Nazis began giving the odious book as a gift to every newlywed German couple, and once they began to invade their neighbors, to every German soldier sent to the front as well. Over the next twelve years the Nazis committed every cruel and evil act which their leader, may his name be erased, had proposed in his despicable book. Six million Jews and over sixty million others died because an evil man had been allowed to rise to control of the German government. Ninety nine years have passed from the first publication of his hateful screed and still his ideas spread and are espoused by far too many close to the levers of power in many nations. One day, perhaps, the world will at last be free of such falsehoods. For now, there is work to be done in combating them.

“White passing” privilege doesn’t exist.
The concept “White passing” is just incitement to genocide.
This is just repackaged blood quantum genocidal rhetoric.
It is the exact opposite of “privilege” when it is used to incite genocide against us
It is just genocide by erasure

I don’t think enough people understand if a “country” that hasn’t even existed for 80 years can get away with a genocide we see evidence of everyday with no other global power stopping it then what’s next? Where’s the line? What else will they do what else can they get away with?

Maybe I'm just stupid and/or naive, but I honestly thought whole idea behind the social justice movement was that no one should be oppressed, that no one of any race, religion, culture, gender, sexuality, country of origin or any combination thereof deserves to be discriminated against. I thought that bigotry was always wrong no matter what, I thought rape and torture were wrong no matter what. I thought that the ultimate goal was to end the bloodshed altogether, for the end of oppression and the beginning of peace. I thought that we all wanted everyone to live and meet on equal footing, not just to switch around who's being oppressed and who's doing the oppressing. I thought it was about making a better life for everyone, not just the select groups of people whom it's popular to care about this week.
Apparently I was wrong. Apparently there are exceptions.
