Do not accept candy from strangers

Danny made a lot of stupid decisions in his life, several, so many that he couldn't even begin to count them, but according to him that was great when it came to learning from his mistakes.

So, it's no wonder that on his one day off he decided to do everything he was told not to do:

1. Leave Amity

2. Reveal himself to the world

3. Accept things from a stranger

The first 2 were reasonable, considering the situation with the GIW and how 80% of the population did not believe ghosts existed, the last was a warning Jazz made sure to instill in him.

But Danny was dead (more or less), and what harm could it do to eat a candy or two? It's not like he could poison himself.

The answer was a lot of harm; Technically no one offered him the fallen Kryptonite on the ground (he just thought it looked delicious), and both Lex Luthor and Superman weren't paying attention to him during their epic battle or whatever.

So Danny just picked it up and ate it, well, ate several (Lex was throwing them away like a candy trail, the halfa had fun thinking of Hansel and Gretel), Superman looked worried as he heard "Lex's evil plans to surround him with Kryptonite."

But instead of finding a perfect circle surrounding him, he found a teenager, a young white-haired boy who was rolling on the ground and complaining of a stomach ache.

Danny could almost hear Frostbite's voice scolding him for eating candy off the floor, damn it, and some of the candy wasn't even pure! They looked manufactured and stale. Danny glared at Luthor before deciding it wasn't worth it and going back to his task of complaining.

two things to think about when my brain is clearer: betsy comes to her mum and says she wants to see mason's body and apologise, and lisa's immediate response and way of offering comfort is to tell her that they'll nail the people responsible for his death. wondering if this is just because of their different methods of processing their grief, betsy wanting to face her own internal process head on whereas lisa shifts focus onto getting justice for the wronged, or if it's because lisa has been exactly where her daughter is right now, has stood by the bedside of the corpse of her loved one, and she already knows that seeing their body does not fix anything--it didn't help her process her grief, it only ensured that the very last memory of her late wife was of her lifeless, and she's protecting betsy from that (even if, who's to say, it might actually help).

secondly, and less tangible, but rewatching old carla connor scenes and her mental health breaking down over 'the badness, the rot, the evil' inherently inside of her, and there is such a fine line connecting my brain from that point to betsy in that final scene, whether it has any right to or not. sitting quietly at a table, feeling little of anything except sorry that she didn't make a different choice, and expecting to be hated for it.

#OF MONSTERS AND MEN: musings.#YOUR NEED GREW TEETH: character study.#barton's love being an all-consuming thing but also being a violent thing is... well very him as unfortunate and/or frightening as that-#might sound. because even if you are just friends with him i feel as if since barton self-sabotages a LOT more often than you may think-#and makes split-decision decisions that really aren't good whenever you actually take a moment to reflect on how much harm they'll cause-#versus how much good. so you're kind of screwed... and i'm not sure i've said this before BUT one of the key characteristics of someone who #is that they are impulsive and unable to see in other people's points of view on an emotional level. so if he thinks up something that be b #will make someone's life better / easier then he WILL do it even if it actually isn't benign.#and whenever he actually discovers that what he did was incredibly messed up then it'll already be too late-#because he already destroyed his relationship with them / showed them his true colors. and that is that being close to barton could very-#well mean danger for them. because even to people that he loves barton can often be cruel to them and express this in ways that are just-#not easily understandable to anyone except him.

I think I have a type with ships because my two favorite ships are Elleon x Jelena from Tera and Antoine x Evka from Dragon Age.

#dragon age #tera #evka ivo #antoine dragon age #jelena tera #elleon kubel #i need one to be energetic goofy or otherwise pretty positive or jokey about an awful situation #i need the other to want to save people and look and pretend to be a complete badass when really they are very soft to those who know them #i then require one to be an injury/danger magnet #and then toss them into battle as a pair #like there are major differences in character and dynamic #like antoine is super cheerful and goofy while jelena is more sarcastic impulsive decisions and flirting #evka can be serious and badass but is also pretty friendly/jokey with friends and soft to her husband #while elleon is over there pretending to be some serious and edgy hero who is actually a huge dork once you know him #and then Antoine and Elleon are both just sitting there acting as the punching bag for everything #because they thought walking into he den of a super powerful evil thing was a great idea #like those two spend so much time getting hurt their wives are probably capable of extensive first aid skills at this point #i can imagine both of them sitting there grinning while their wives stitch them up like aww yeah we punched that monster good #itd be funnier if I said god because both did join in fights against gods #but didn't because it is realistic enough to be taken as a possibility

Just watched Fury from the Deep and I love Victoria's exit so much it breaks my heart. She's so worn down by their travels always ending up full of danger and death and her always being put in the position of damsel in distress. She really doesn't want to leave jamie and the doctor but she doesn't want that life and I love that it let's her make that choice. And I love that Jamie's concerned she won't be happy living in, what is to them, the future but she acknowledges she's changed too much to go back to Victorian England, and she's highly unlikely to get back there anyway, not without more death and danger. That the doctor changes his mind about slipping away in the night and agrees to stay another day so Victoria can think about her decision properly without feeling as pressured. The fact that she knows the doctor won't say a proper goodbye because that's his way. The way she stands on the beach watching them row out to the tardis, knowing she'll never see either of them again. The fact she doesn't go back to the tardis with them to collect her belongings. Jamie's "I don't care where we go next" because he's miserable that Victoria made that decision. The Doctor's "I was fond of her too, you know" which is the closest he'll get to admitting how much he cares about them all. I just love it

#i just have so many thoughts about her #i love that the story builds to her exit with her saying shes tired of being frightened and asking why they never end up anywhere nice #her exit's similar to tegans in that theyre both worn out and sick of it but i love where tegans exit is impulsive #and very much in the heat of the moment #you see victoria considering it throughout the episode even though she cant bring herself to say it to jamie and the doctor #and yeah i just love that we get to see the travelling take its toll bc when you get down to it she is just a kid who never signed up #for any of this #and where new who companions get breaks between adventures and have lives outside the doctor #classic who companions dont get any of that by virtue of the 'the doctor cant control the tardis' so the doctor and his lifestyle is all #they have #and it goes even more so for victoria bc shes one of the orphaned companions who has nowhere to go back to #(sidenote i was thinking the other day about how many classic companions have nowhere they want to go back to particularly with 1 2 and 5 #which fits with the whole 'cant control the tardis so they cant ever go back so we better make companions who dont want to'#idk i just love that so many of the classic exits are companions finding a new home/realising they can do good in this new place #like they can never go back to their old home and they end up with their temporary tardis family until they find somewhere new to call home #and ik we rarely see the outcomes of these decisions so we dont know if they were the right ones but still)#anyway this was about victoria #in conclusion: i love her and her exit #doctor who #victoria waterfield #jamie mccrimmon #second doctor

i don’t watch horror movies but one of my big issues with the ones i’ve seen is that they’re so uncreative with why people can’t use their phones. what do you mean everyone’s phone is dead and suddenly no one has signal. personally i think everyone should panic and throw their phones at the murderer when their fight or flight instinct kicks in, insodoing breaking the phones and meaning no one can call for help

#because LISTEN. i’ve thought about this so much #if i see a murderer in my house i’m gonna throw something at them to give myself a few seconds #and i have one throwable object in my hands at all times #if i panic i’m throwing my phone like a brick and hoping i hit them #not saying that that’s a good idea but it’s just what i would probably do on instinct #and if i hit them in a good spot i can buy myself a few seconds to get out #no more convenient power outages. i have strong lte a power outage can’t hurt me #but making a stupid impulse decision in a split second? i have experience with that. i know how that feels.
