Prompt 28 - Cowboy
@wolfstarmicrofic June 28, word count 847
Previous part First part
Sirius sidled up to James once he and Remus got back to the cabin. Remus ducked into the bathroom and Sirius narrowed his eyes at James.
âWhat happened to, âDonât worry, Sirius, I swear I wonât interrupt you and Remus again when youâre having some alone time,â?âÂ
âSirius, I swear it wasnât intentional. There were bees!â James tried to explain to him.Â
âYou had the entire forest and yet somehow you ended up in the same pool as Remus and, just when we were about toâŚâ He stopped talking, his face becoming hot as he blushed. What had they been about to do? Sirius didnât even know. Heâd let his fingers trace the edge of Remusâs waistband and Remus had leant back. Granted him permission. He didnât even have time to think before James had disturbed them. Maybe it was for the best. He ground his teeth. Why was he so nervous? The few girls heâd been with had been so easy. Why did doing anything with Remus make his heart stutter and his brain overthink? Sirius was not one for overthinking. He ran in head first and dealt with the consequences later. Remus came out of the bathroom and he dropped it while they went for dinner.Â
Sirius skipped ahead of their group to Wanda, who was serving pudding tonight.
âWanda, might I say you look a vision tonight?â He turned his best smile on her. She brandished her spatula at him.
âOh, stop you.â She chuckled at him. âI know why youâve turned your charm on.â She leant in conspiratorially. âItâs Remusâs favourite tonight, isnât it? And you want to sweet talk me into giving him an extra slice.â He tilted his head down and looked up at her through his long eyelashes.Â
âMaybe,â Wanda plonked a piece of cake on his plate.Â
âOf with you, you cheeky sod.â She winked at him before he moved on, âIâll see what I can do,â Sirius beamed at her.Â
He watched from their table as Remus nearly flung himself at Wanda when sheâd put an extra piece of cake on his plate. Sirius mouthed a thank you to her. Remus was so happy with his extra pudding that he wolfed down his dinner. He probably didn't even taste it and started on his chocolate cake. The greedy git even finished off Siriusâs. Heâd pretended to be full revelling in the joy on Remusâs face when he took a bite of the bonus cake.Â
âSo the dance is tomorrow,â James said once they were all done. âWhatâs everyone going as?â
âGoing as?â Remus questioned.Â
âItâs fancy dress, sweetheart,â Sirius told him, taking his hand as they left the main hall.Â
âOh,â Remusâs face fell. âI didnât know. I donât have anything with me.â Siriusâs heart broke from the sadness in his voice. He squeezed his hand reassuringly.Â
âDonât worry, sweetheart. I always bring spares. You can wear one of mine.â He offered as they walked into the cabin.Â
âThank you,â Remus looked relieved. âWhat are you going as?â He asked him quietly.
âIâm the pirate king, Remus, Iâm going as a pirate.âÂ
âIâm going as a lion!â Peter grinned and pulled out a furry lionâs mane wig from his drawers along with a lion onesie.Â
âIâm going as Severus,â James said proudly, taking out a set of clothes that looked exactly the same as the ones Snape had on along with a short straight-haired wig. âI got this before we liked you,â He apologised to Snape when he glowered at him.Â
âIâm going as the sheriff of Nottingham. Lily thought it would be funny as she wanted to go as Robin Hood and have Pandora as maid Marian,â He scowled at them, daring them to laugh.Â
âI bet youâd look amazing as him. Do you have a fancy tunic?â Sirius asked. Snape shook his head no.
âItâs a cheap one from a costume shop,â He explained. Sirius dove under his bed and dragged out a huge bag that was full to bursting. He unzipped it and began pulling its contents out. It took him a few minutes to get everything laid out on his bed, but soon he had three complete costumes. One perfect replica of the Captain Jack Sparrow outfit for him, one fancy outfit for Snape that would work for the sheriff, and one for Remus.Â
âSaddle up cowboy,â He let one side of his mouth pull up in a crooked smile at Remus, âYouâre going to the ball.â Remus reached forward and let his fingers trail across the costume heâd laid out. Sirius picked up the cowboy hat and placed it over Remusâs sandy curls. âDamn, I donât know how Iâm gonna fight off all the girls and boys that are going to throw themselves at you at the dance but, sweetheart, you look hot as hell,â Remus blushed and Sirius couldnât help it. He wrapped his arms around his waist and drew him in for a passionate kiss, ignoring the wolf whistles coming from the other three. Remus was stunning and he was his.Â

real life peak behind the scenes: its weird to read about Snape and Draco for months, write about them, share in their communities.Â
And then one morning, troopers on your door tell you the love of your life is dead. Now you are the widow. Now you get to wonder if you could have saved them for the rest of your life. Now they are the one dead in their thirties.Â
And its just weird. Life imitates art in the cruelest of ways at times I suppose.

Headmaster Dumbledore is sure that the ghosts of Hogwarts were hiding something. Heâd be the first to admit that heâs nosy when it came to things like these, but he simply doesnât have the time. Whatever that lingered these halls, heâs sure does not mean Hogwarts any harm. The ghosts would not protect it if it did.
Albus Dumbledore Hummer around a lemon drop as his quill scratched over endless parchment paper.
His wand glowed green for a brief second, an acknowledgement, and settled down into its current ownerâs hold.
ââ
Danny Phantom hadnât thought the castle he found during the summer months in this universe would be⌠so full of life. Not when there were ghosts, floating around like the castle were their own home.
Magic.
They were ghosts made of magic.
His core struggled, at first, to survive. Then, it took the magic and thrived.
He floated, invisible amongst the glittering candles beneath the imitated night sky, and watched students file in.
Quite different, from his own entrance.
He had floated into the tower, having felt a hint of resistance that he knew now were the castle wards. The ghosts, what he thought were ghosts before he realized ectoplasmic ghosts existed, stopped dead. Hah.
The shades dancing and whirling and conversing froze as he entered the tower. Life and death, and the beings that walked the line, stopped at the arrival of the One Who is the Line. The boy king wreathed in black and green glanced around.
âHello. Iâm Phantom.â
âThe High King,â a ghost whispered. âOur king.â
âHeâs an American?â Another one asked, scandalized. Danny, surrounded by those who he recognized as his, cracked the first smile heâs had in a while.
âWho cares? HeâsâŚâ The knight sunk to his knees, bowing with his ghostly sword in front of him.
The ghosts bowed. Danny floated in further. âCan you tell me where I am?â
âOf course.â
ââ
Now⌠heâs watching the children get Sorted. Weird, for a hat to decide your classmates, but whatever.
Harry Potterâs name is called, and the whispers broke out. He doesnât know why, but Danny couldnât ask the ghosts. They barely know the current headmaster, as the dead generally care only for their own times.
Danny decides to visit the lake octopus. Lake squid? Something like that. The mer people beneath the waters liked him, the last time he went. The Sorting is put out of Dannyâs mind. Heâs dead now, too. The only thing he cares about now is to explore the vast halls of Hogwarts and the occasional visit to the kitchen to steal some food for his living body.
(Thank the Ancients he found a house elf who knew what seasoning was.)
(Sometimes, Danny flew to where his home would have been and gets comfort food at the nearest town. He missed it, but he canât go back.)
The ghosts know by now to call for Phantom should they need something (âIâm American,â he joked at the ghost. âWeâre not big on kings. You can just call me Phantom.â)
ââ
The third year heâs there, Danny feels the effects of Clockworkâs power. When he investigates, itâs the red headed girl he once saw leaving the library, paper clutched in her hand.
She helped save one of his subjects, so he owes her. Plus, if sheâs using Clockworkâs powers, this Hermione has potential.
And⌠sheâs using it to study.
She reminds him of Jazz.
ââ
A wave of ice crackled and froze the fleeing rat and the feral wolf man.
âWhat?!â Harry screeched to a stop, eyes wide at the ghost child in front of him.
Danny turned, and landed gently on the ground. Snape snarled at him in suspicion. Danny allowed himself to become living again, black hair and blue eyes and tan skin replacing the white, green, black thing his dead form had.
âWhoâre you?â The red-headed boy, Ron?, asked him through gritted teeth.
Danny smiled at them, dimples appearing. âA friend.â
Before the trio and co. could say anything, Danny whips his head around, palm coming up.
âStop.â He orders. The creeping sense of cold and dread shuttered to a stop. âGo over there,â he said, and the dementors, hovering at the edge of his periphery obeyed. Danny turned back to the mildly terrified and flummoxed group.
âLetâs go. Youâre all going to catch a cold, if you donât move it. Especially you, scrawny and greasy.â He pointed at the godfather and Snape.
ââ
âHey, Danny?â
âWhat, Harry?â
âWhyâd you help us? I mean, you said you didnât want to involve yourself in stuff like that.â
Danny hummed, wisped tail curling up against him as he soaked in the sunâs rays. âBecause you reminded me of myself. And in the end, you died.â
âYou literally brought me back,â Harry deadpanned, remembering the place between life and death, and how the angry Danny was when he stormed onto that train platform. The King had taken him by the scruff of his shirt collar like a particularly incensed mother cat, and dragged him off away from a puzzled Dumbledore.
âYou were being stupid. Youâre too young to die.â
âLike you?â
Danny snorted. âNah. I didnât have a choice.â
#danny phantom#harry potter#no I donât like j.k. Rowling nor do I support her views#Danny is sad ghost boi in Hogwarts#heâs got a magical core now but through like adaptation and osmosis or some shit#magic simply doesnât work on him bc heâs a ghost adjacent#Danny is the mom friend#you wouldnât think so but he is#totally an enabler but also a mom#Hermione being Clockworkâs fav

Gilded Constellations | (wolfstar x reader)
Series Masterlist | Previous episode
Pairing: Wolfstar x Reader Word Count: 7.5 K Warnings: homophob*c slurs, homoph*bia. Prompt: If things cannot be changed, can the attention be diverted? This IS a Wolfstar x reader fic, but it's incredibly slow burn. They won't start all dating each other until we're very deep into the story, but I promise the long wait will be worth it. Proofread by lovely: @aremuslupinsimp
Chapter 64: Put Out the Fire
Remusâ hand, the one that had been holding you down seemed to loosen up slightly. You looked up, he seemed just as tense but you saw Sirius plop back down into the water and you couldnât stay down there any longer, your need for air was almost overwhelming at that point, and while you had frantically looked for a wand in the pocket of both boysâ shirts that were still on the floor to try and use some kind of charm for breathing underwater, Remusâ wand had been on his sweater and Siriusâ on his robes, so instead youâd had to hold you breath.
You gasped for air and looked towards the now shut doors. The first thing you saw was Remusâ shocked gaze, you turned to Sirius, he had his head hidden in between his palms. You looked in between the two of them, you felt your feet trembling and your lips wanting to say something. You hadnât seen what happened, but by Siriusâ quick standing up and tense muscles under the water, you were sure someone had seen them.Â
âWho?â You asked, voice raspy. The room was dĐľad silent, no sound other than the water still coming out of the taps and the soft echo of the small wave youâd created upon resurfacing. Both boys were almost frozen in place. Neither of them seemed ready to answer your question. âWho was it? At the door?â you pressed.Â
It took a whole moment for either boy to muster up the words. âSnape,â said Sirius almost in a whisper. Remus was still quiet.Â
âSeverus Snape?â you asked, horrified. âHow much did heââÂ
âEverything,â he interrupted. You felt as if you'd gotten a punch in the gut and all the air had been drawn out of your lounges âyou knew exactly how that felt. âExcept for you, he didnât see you. Remus made sure.â You blinked a couple of times and let out a short breath, trying to deal with all the new information. âHe called us sissys,â Sirius continued. You saw Remus flinch out of the corner of your eye.Â
âSo heâs also homophobic,â you said in a scoff as if you werenât surprised. âAnd he⌠just left?âÂ
âHe left when I pointed my wand at his ugly face,â Sirius said, there was a tinge of that very characteristic boastfulness of his laced in his words. âRight Moony?âÂ
No response.Â
âMoony?â Sirius asked again, now focusing his gaze on him.Â
Remus was looking at Sirius but not entirely, it was as if his gaze was lost somewhere in the space he occupied. Sirius turned to you, questioning. Remus looked as if he had been petrified, though you could see the soft rise and fall of his chest.Â
âRemus,â you said, much softer than Sirius, but his gaze was still completely lost.
Sirius was about to shake him but you were fast enough to hold his hand before he got to touch him. He gave you a confused look and you nodded softly. You used your hold on his wrist to draw it closer to Remus in a much softer manner and guided it until he touched his cheek. You then placed your hand on top of Siriusâ âmuch like youâd done to Remus earlierâ and guided his index just under Remusâ chin. As you suspected, his heartbeat was almost as fast as it had been earlier, but this time it wasnât because of pleasure, Remus was terrified.Â
You threw another soft look at Sirius before pulling your other hand towards Remusâ unattended cheek. âRemus?â you called again.Â
âMoony?â Sirius said shortly after, imitating the softness of your tone. He caught on almost as fast as you on what Remus was experiencing. Heâd experienced it himself more times than heâd like to admit.Â
âHe knows,â Remus spoke finally. âHe knows Iâm a werewolf and he knows Iâm queer.â You could tell how hard it had become for him to breathe. He was barely blinking as he said it.Â
âHe canât talk about the first one,â Sirius said softly.Â
You already knew about the incident. Severus had gotten charmed by Dumbuldore so he didnât speak about Remusâ secret. You wondered if the spell had been ambiguous enough to also stop him from talking about this. It was highly unlikely, Dumbledore was a brilliant wizard, he wouldnât leave space for loopholes.
Remus didnât even have the energy to look at Sirius in the sarcastic way heâd want to. The one that made the obvious thing known: He could talk about the second one.
It was easy to guess what he was thinking. âItâs okay,â you said softly. âItâs okay,â you repeated reassuringly, much like he had done to you in the past. âWeâll figure something out.âÂ
âWe always figure something out,â Sirius said with a smile, and leaned closer to press a soft kiss to Moonyâs temple. That seemed to somehow ease the other boy.Â
âThatâs right,â you added softly and allowed your hand to glide down to his collarbone, squeezing the space between his shoulder and his neck reassuringly. âIt may take us a while, but weâll find a way. We already found our way to each other, whatever happens after wonât matter.âÂ
âThe pressure, itâllâŚâ Remus took in a shaky breath. âItâll crush us,â he added apprehensively. âWhat ifâ If you canât take that anymore,â he added as he looked at both you and Sirius.Â
The root of his fear wasnât on people finding out, but rather it was on the two of you leaving him because of it. You shook your head and sighed once you figured it out. âRem, weâve all gone pretty much through hell before getting together. Siriusâs never cared about other peopleâs opinions and as long as I have the two of you, I wonât either. Shout it out loud to the entire school if you want, Iâm yours, weâre yours, and nothing will change that.âÂ
âSheâs right Moons, if you think some Slytherinâs badmouthing us will make us step away from you thenââÂ
âItâs not just the Slytherins,â Remus interrupted, insisting, anxious. âOur very friends could turn on us. You donât know the kind of prejudice they have against queer people, against people in a menage a trois or whatever it is you call it. They will look at us and they will judge us wherever we go andââÂ
âHey,â you said softly when you realised his words were taking over his thoughts. âName one friend you think would leave us if they found out. I dare you.âÂ
Remus seemed to think about it for a second, he opened his mouth to speak but he couldnât say a thing. âNone of them would,â Sirius confirmed. âYou know that, right?âÂ
âWhat about my father?âÂ
âYou could always say youâre only half gay, youâre also dating a woman,â said Sirius nonchalantly and got a slap from your side.Â
âIâm sure Hope would help him understand if it ever gets big enough for him to hear about it,â you said with a smile. âDonât worry so much, Rem. We are together in this, weâre not planning to leave you any time soon.âÂ
âYeah?â He said softly. Almost too quietly to be heard. As if he was scared you might go back on your words.Â
You smiled and leaned in to hug him, Sirius was shortly behind, the two of you embracing Remus tightly. Both boys were still quite shirtless, and you could feel their soft skin against your hands and face, it was reassuring in a way. Your cheeks pressed to the crook of his neck and Sirius pressed almost right behind you. It took him a few seconds, but eventually, he also closed his arms around Sirius, pushing you even closer to him, as if to make sure you were real, as if to make sure you were really there, hugging him, and telling him youâd be with him no matter what. Just months ago something like that would seem unimaginable, and here you were.Â
âI mean,â Sirius said. You could hear the teasing smile on his face even if you had your back turned on him. âDid you really think weâd ever want to stop after getting a taste of you?â He added before pressing a sonorous kiss on Remusâ cheek. The smack sound echoed through the entire place.
Remus was startled at first, growing almost red from the unexpected remark âand he was lucky Sirius didnât lick his face as he initially intendedâ but then he chuckled light-heartedly. You smiled and pressed a kiss to his neck as well, much quieter than Siriusâ but loud enough for him to hear. âI mean, Siriusâ is right. How could we ever?âÂ
Remusâ chuckles grew a little louder. And he tightened his grip around the two of you. A few minutes passed like that. After the heat of the moment and the cold bucket of water that Severus had thrown your way, it was a nice, simple, and incredibly reassuring embrace. âWe should probably leave now,â he said while rubbing circles on Siriusâ back and pressing a short kiss to your hair.Â
âI donât want to,â you said petulantly. The idea of leaving the warmth and comfort of them presenting itself almost as a nightmare.Â
âSeverus might tell a teacher, and then weâll really be in trouble.âÂ
âRemus!â Sirius complained this time around. He was clearly much calmer now, impossibly delighted at having both his boyfriend and his girlfriend cling to him so fervently.
âYou both know we should go, donât make me the bad guy.âÂ
You grumbled something as you pushed yourself off him, âWhy did we say we wanted common sense in the relationship,â you sighed as you turned to Sirius.
âBecause weâre both reckless and would probably end up in detention without Moony,â he reminded you.Â
âWell detention doesnât sound so baââÂ
âBathroom cleaning.â Remus said without batting an eyelash.Â
You stood straight almost in an instant. âRemus is right, we need to leave this place,â you said as you leaned down and allowed your hand to dive down into the water to pick up their shirts, handing them over shortly after. Youâd gotten it wrong and mismatched them to their owner, the boys smiled when they noticed, exchanging the wet clumps of fabric between each other as they looked at you stepping out of the water with clothes completely soaked but clean in comparison to earlier.Â
Neither boy said a thing, but the sight of your shirt and skirt clinging to your body due to the water tempted both of them to forgo common sense and just continue with what youâd started before Severus arrived. âWhat?â you asked as they stared.Â
âNothing,â Sirius said, almost too quickly before busying himself with the damp cloth in his hand. Trying to expand it and put it on, even as it was wet. âHow is it so much harder to put on a wet shirt than to remove it,â he mumbled as he struggled to find one of the arms.Â
âYouâre not really meant to put on wet clothes, only to remove them,â Remus replied with a teasing smirk before also leaving the tub. He was dripping, the droplets of water disappearing into the charmed floor. It seemed like whatever water reached it would instantly dry, itâd been designed to avoid students tripping on wet surfaces; it was still fascinating to see the droplets almost disappear as if they had been swallowed by a sponge the moment they touched the ground.
 His trousers were half on âsince youâd managed to remove one of the buttonsâ and pulled down as he stepped out of the bath. Sirius hollered something about him having a âGreat arseâ and you tried not to laugh as Moony frowned, and pulled up the trousers as a blush suffused his face. Not that Sirius had actually seen anything other than his underwear.Â
You leaned back a little bit to look and nodded. âNo, I mean heâs definitely right,â you said with a shrug. Which got an exasperated âand yet divertedâ look from Moony. He shook his head as he pulled on his shirt, picked his jumper from the side of the tub and took his wand out from one of the sleeves, where it had previously gotten stuck.
âLittle Witch, come over,â He said softly. You approached him without questions and he cast a simple spell over you, in a second your clothes were all dried up, they even looked ironed.Â
âThatâs a neat trick,â you said as you adjusted the button and realised the small hole in the side of your skirt had also disappeared. You looked at it puzzled as you turned to Remus with amazement.Â
âItâs a repairing charm,â he responded with a shrug. âI begged Pomfrey to teach me how to do it. Iâd lost a great deal of my clothes because of Moony.â
âYouâre so brilliant!â you said as you took his hand in between your hands and pressed a fast kiss on his lips. He seemed rather content with your sudden show of love and appreciation. Youâd called him brilliant before about a hundred times, but if from now on that praise also came with a kiss, then heâd have to be twice as brilliant as heâd been before.
By the time you left the bathroom, both boys had been dried with Remusâ spell, and youâd had to step out into the sea of toads on the outside hall. Upon little to no deliberation, the three of you decided that going to the courtyard and blending in with the rest of your friends would be your best alibi. Especially if you made a lot of noise and made it appear youâd been there a while. At least like that, youâd be able to diminish the credibility of whatever Severus decided to tell other people.Â
If you made the rest doubt that youâd ever been anywhere but in the courtyard, then the probability of having been in the Prefectâs bathroom would go down drastically. Hence, you sneaked through one of Hogwartsâ interminable secret passages and arrived at the courtyard not from the main entrance but rather from an underground passage that dropped you just outside of it.Â
You used the same technique you had used outside the great hall to climb up and the three of you blended with the crowd as if youâd been there all along.
âHey,â you said as you approached your group of friends.
Mary was almost startled when she spotted you âWhere were you?âÂ
âWe got ourselves cleaned after the mud incident, took a while to find you in the crowds.âÂ
âIf you had come with me instead of behind your boyfriendsââ she stopped herself as if she realised sheâd said something she shouldnât have but added, âYour boyfriendâs beautiful hair then you wouldnât have ruined your uniform.âÂ
You pushed her with your shoulder playfully, not reproaching but rather diverted at how fast her stance had changed when she thought sheâd said more than she should. It made you think of how and when youâd tell the rest of your friends about your relationship.Â
Which had some conflicted thoughts, part of you wanted to keep it a secret, just because of how exciting it was to have them for the two of you, while the other part wanted to tell every single person in the world about it, because dating Remus Lupin was something worth boasting about. Yes, it had been you and Sirius the ones who finally got one of the dreamiest boys at the entire school. However would you want to keep that a secret?Â
If only there were not such things as prejudices and so on, perhaps you might have made it obvious right there and then. But then again, you might have been the one in less trouble if word got out since you werenât the one openly breaking the classic heterosexual relationships, the boys were. Not even Tom was openly gay, even if it wasnât exactly a secret, it was more as if he belonged in a secret club, where only other members of the club and selected allies were admitted.Â
It was the only way to maintain everyone safe since you were sure the racism already existing in some places of the school wouldn't take too long to turn into homophobia. Yet another excuse to belittle people. After all, you had met Arkalis, and the way heâd implied things about Evan had been enough to tell you the position of the Pure Blood Community in regard to sexual preferences.Â
âWhat do you mean âher boyfriendâs beautiful hair?ââ Asked James as he turned to Lily in an almost reproachful tone.Â
âNobody can deny it, Sirius has the best hair,â said Marlene.Â
âBetween who?â protested James. âThe Marauders?âÂ
âProbably the entire school,â answered Mary with a shrug.Â
James looked honestly offended by the entire ordeal, not because he didnât think Sirius had amazing hair, but because Lily thought Sirius had amazing hair. Not that she didnât have any right to think it, of course, she could think whatever she liked, but it didnât stop the little discontent over it. âWell, I think Lily has the best hair.âÂ
âOf course you do,â Everyone retorted, almost in a choir. James just frowned in return and placed his hand around Lily who rolled her eyes and pressed a quick kiss to his cheek, instantly making the frown disappear.Â
Out of the corner of your eyes, you noticed Severus walking past the entrance and towards a bunch of Slytherins on the other side of the courtyard. His robes were still filled with mud, and he was covered by what you recognized to be the slime on the library entrance. There was a choir of laughter among the students once a small Hufflepuff girl noticed him and pointed his demeanour at her friends who seemed genuinely diverted at the sight.
âThat is enough, Miss Bingley, please,â McGonagall said in a rather stern voice.Â
âBut Professor,â retorted another Hufflepuff that stood beside her. âHeâs covered in troll snot!âÂ
This caused yet another chorus of laughs, this time even the Slytherins were poking fun at Severus who had already turned crimson from anger, his face contorting into that of an angry ostrich. When he noticed your staring he gave you a disdainful face with an air of superiority. As if he knew something you didnât and he knew that something had the power to destroy you. Severus had assumed Sirius was cheating on you with Remus Lupin, and he was already devising a plan to bring the three of you down. He had this unwavering idea that it was your fault he was miserable and that Lily had started dating Potter because you had prompted her to it. He didnât think it was a coincidence that Potter had been chasing after her for years; only when you appeared in the school had she actually decided to give him a chance.Â
For all Severus cared, you and James had put a spell on Evans and thatâs why she hung out with you so readily. After all, it had been after you arrived that she had started to throw those resentful looks his way. Almost as if she had started to hate him, which had never happened before. And it was in this madness that Severus was determined to destroy you. He didnât give a damn if you recently lost your mother and friend, not even when he read on the papers that youâd run away from home; in fact, heâd even hoped you wouldnât return at the beginning of the year. He was so upset and bitter over the way Lily was acting toward him that he blamed it all on you and couldnât see past his pain.
It being your fault made sense, you were the perfect scapegoat, especially when he was not ready to admit it had been his attitude, and what he had called her that made Lily start being so wary of him.Â
Unbeknownst to all his plans, you held his gaze and smirked, leaning closer to Sirius. âYou should have told me he looked so ridiculous,â you said with a laugh, that caused Sirius to also pay attention to Severus. There was a fire in the Slytherinâs eyes as his gaze crossed with Siriusâ unbothered and clearly diverted one.Â
âSeverus Snape?â Sirius questioned. âOr should we say Severus Snail?âÂ
Some other kid caught wind of what he said and repeated it a little louder, soon enough there was a choir of voices chanting âSeverus Snail, Severus Snail!â while the rest laughed at the ridiculously fitting nickname for the boy covered in slime.Â
Severus puffed and blew, and looked more pissed than anything, his stupid proud smile erasing from his face as more and more voices joined the chanting. Neither you nor Sirius had joined, but both of you were laughing merrily. And as Sirius had placed his arm around you and had you lean closer to him, Severus thought he was the most disgusting man he had ever seen (after Potter). But he didnât feel sorry for either of you, instead, he was ready to rip you to shreds.Â
âEnough!â repeated McGonagall, in a much more commanding tone than the one he had used the first time. âMr Snape, please go to Mr Slughorn to see if he can help you out of your⌠predicament,â she added. âEveryone else, the classes are suspended for today. Food will be served on the lawn next to the black lake and you shall remain there until further notice, is that clear?âÂ
There was a choir of excited âyesâ coming from the crowds.
She sighed and then turned around, Professor Nightshade was by her side. She gave you a weary glance since sheâd been trying to get a hold of you since you went back to school, but the situation at hand seemed a lot more relevant. The rest of the teachers, including Sprout, Flitwick and Spellman, leaned in to hear what McGonagall was telling them in a much softer tone. âIâll talk to the house elves to devise a plan for the displacement of the Toads,â she said. âUnless anyone has any other ideas?âÂ
The teachers disappeared into the roofed section of the courtyard and you turned to look at Lily with a proud smile, leaning onto her before whispering: âTold you you didnât have to worry about the homework.âÂ
Even with the thick snow outside, the students had all armed themselves with warming spells, there had been a few fires constructed near the lake and the elves were handing out hot chocolate with warming potions âcourtesy of Slughornâ to everyone that required them. The prank had turned a boring first day of school into somewhat of a winter picnic or an exterior of a ski resort lounge party. The lake was frozen, the elves had gotten some skates and some students were skating about while others remained close to the fires while drinking their hot cocoas and roasting marshmallows.
Eventually, a Ravenclaw had the brilliant idea of also cooking food in the fire and with the help from the house elves got his hands on some raw meat in bruschetta sticks and with a spell had them float and spin around the fire as they cooked.
 He taught some other students how to do it, and suddenly almost all the fires were not only for warming people but also a buffet of all types of roasted food and vegetables.Â
The day might have started with toads, but it ended in a winter festival!Â
Itâs been a few hours since youâd gotten there with everyone and by then you were all just lounging on the snow, close enough to the fire to be warm, but not so much that the snow would melt underneath you. You had a bruschetta of roasted vegetables in your hand and were munching on some green stuff that tasted like zucchini but with spices.Â
âWell it turned out a lot better than I expected,â said James as he leaned back next to Sirius, you had been lying in between him and Remus, shoulders bumping into each other as you pulled food into your mouth. Remus would occasionally have some marshmallows float towards him and share them with you and Sirius.Â
âYeah, weâd never had a prank ended in a party,â said Peter from the other side. He was drinking some hot chocolate and had about 5 marshmallows floating beside him, and another 5 -much smaller onesâ inside his beverage. âThey almost always end up in detention.âÂ
âYou think theyâll figure it was us?â asked Sirius thoughtfully.Â
âI donât think they even know how it was done,â you retorted. âI mean there is no spell that gets so many toads in so many places at once.âÂ
âI believe Flitwick and Spellman are trying to figure that out,â added Remus. âI saw them talking to some of the elves, and Nimbletwist said they had been tasked to revise the origin of the toads, but no one is sure where they came from.âÂ
âLuckily the Swampbombs donât leave any magic tracesâŚâÂ
âDonât be so sure,â said Peter. âWe thought stink pellets didnât leave any traces after their dung was completely released and we got in detention anyway.âÂ
âHow did they figure out they had been yours?âÂ
âThe Slytherins threatened the Zonko shopkeeper to tell them whoâd bought them,â he admitted. âMoral of the storyâ never buy pranks under your own name.âÂ
You laughed at that and took another bite of your bruschetta, whatever youâd eaten was sweet and slightly condimented, you werenât sure youâd eaten it before, but you certainly enjoyed the texture of it in your mouth, not to mention the taste was exquisite.Â
âHey, wanna go skating?â Annie Doxon said as she approached Peter, you could tell he was trying to hide his smile and look cool about it when he got up as she extended her hand. You smiled as you saw the two of them towards the lake.Â
âAnd you, Ătoile? Wanna skate?âÂ
You hummed in return, youâd barely slept that night, and then youâd gotten a dĐľath scare at the bathrooms. It's not that you were sleepy, or that you wanted to sleep, but rather that you were much too tired to will yourself to stand anytime soon. Not to mention there was no place as comfortable as lying between the two of them. âNot right now,â you admitted. âBut if you want toââÂ
âNo, Iâm good here too,â he added with a smile, leaning his head a little closer to yours. âCan I have some, Moons?â he asked Remus as he gave a bite to a marshmallow. Moony smirked and floated it towards Sirius who promptly gave it a bite of his own.Â
âThis is really nice,â you said as you took another bite of your food.Â
âNot having class?â asked Sirius.
âThe marshmallows?â quipped Remus.Â
âNo, being with you,â you said, not realising how freaking sappy youâd sounded until it was too late.Â
âIs it?â Sirius said with a smirk as he turned to you with a teasing eyebrow and you groaned in return.Â
âNever mind, I take it back, I take it back,â you joked, it didnât matter, Sirius had already thrown himself over your stomach, pushing you closer to Remus and looking up at you with a teasing smile.
âWhat about it is it that you like so much?âÂ
âOh, please!â you complained with a smile as you tried not to make it evident how flustered youâd gotten over your own stupidity.Â
âCome on, Ătoile, dis-moi!â
âNon, non je t'en prie.â
âIâd certainly like to hear it too,â Remus said as he leaned on his elbows to be able to look at the two of you better. It was like the entire world around the three had faded, leaving only you and nothing else. âWhat is it, Little Witch?âÂ
âYou just like torturing me, donât you?â you said, playing offended.Â
âPerhaps we do,â Sirius responded as he looked at Remus with a rather complicit smile.Â
âItâs just that you look exceptionally cute when youâre flustered,â Remus said, much quieter, in case someone was listening to the three. You covered your face with your hands but both of them were quick and moved them out of the way, looking at you with infuriatingly teasing smiles.Â
You frowned and pouted and the two boys blurted out laughing. Perhaps if Severus had seen the entire thing happen he would have realised heâd gotten it all wrong, and that his plans to torment you would dissolve in water like an effervescent tablet.
You were shaking your head as the boys continued to laugh their heads off when you heard a rather big explosion. The entire place went quiet, and people turned to look towards the castle. It couldnât have been the prank, there was nothing in the swampbombs akin to an actual bomb.
âWhatââÂ
âMy god,â you heard a Hufflepuff girl âAlice Becketâ say as she looked towards her window. You gave Remus a look since they had been a thing and he just shrugged in return. âI left my fireworm in the dorm room, if toads got inâŚâÂ
Suddenly there was another explosion, this time it was louder.
âAlice!â Michael, another Hufflepuff, screamed. âDid you also take Puxie out of her cage?âÂ
âShe looked constrained,â Alice said with a miserable-looking expression.Â
And then there was another boom. Imogen, who at some point had sat beside Remus winced. âAnd⌠that must have been Tony.âÂ
âYour fireworm?â you asked as you turned to her. She nodded in return.Â
âAlice, may I have a word with you?â Said Professor Spellman with a rather stern look. âCare to explain the explosions in the common room?âÂ
âItâs the fireworms, Sir. I think they might have encountered the ToadsâŚâ she said and then she looked down, shaking her head. âPoor DrewieâŚâÂ
âAnd why, pray tell, did a bunch of Hufflepuffs keep fireworms in their dorm rooms?â He said, voice booming and turning to look at Nightshade. She shrugged in response, even if she was head of the house, she had no idea.Â
âHomework,â said Imogen.Â
âHufflepuffs are not the only ones with fireworms either,â said a Ravenclaw as there was another loud boom and smoke started to come out of their tower.Â
âBy Rowena!â said Spellman as he heard another boom.Â
âWhere do you keep yours?â You asked, turning to Sirius.Â
âPeter is taking care of them, I think he left them with Hagrid or something,â he said with a shrug, not preoccupied at all. So far there had been no explosions on the Gryffindor tower or near the dungeons (that youâd heard) and after a few other booms, the novelty of the incident died and some of the students on other years âeveryone that did not own a firewormâ went back to the things theyâd been doing before hand.
âIâm so going to fail,â said Michael as he pulled on his hair and shook his head in disbelief. âAll we had to do was keep them alive.â Â
âLoser!â Said Snape as he stared at the smoke.Â
âSay that again, Severus Snail!â jeered Michael as he turned around, clearly pissed at his comment.Â
âThatâs enough,â Spellman commanded, but neither cared to listen.Â
âCall me that again and see what else blows up.âÂ
âYour face will,â retorted Michael, as he pulled out his wand and pointed it towards Severus.
Nightshade had slowly walked right in front of the boy, and in a much calmer, and yet somehow equally threatening voice said, âMichael Stradlater!âÂ
He looked at Snape, clenching his jaw and wand still high up in the air. Severus stared at him angrily as he looked at her from the corner of his eyes and then focused back on him. He took a deep breath and slowly pulled his wand down. âHe started, Miss!âÂ
âNot my fault he canât keep his fireworms alive,â Severus insisted, he was in a terrible mood, and being called Severus Snail only made it worse. On the other hand, Michael was devastated over his worm, not because he was overly attached to it, but because he was failing Care of Magical Creatures and needed the extra points keeping him alive would have bought. He aimed his wand against Severus again.Â
âMichael,â Seraphina said again, it was rather impassive. Voice soft, but a clear warning regardless. The boy didnât relent this time.Â
You looked at Remus and smiled, he knew you were up to something even before he brought your hand to your mouth and pulled on the fingers of your glove with a bite and removed it, digging your hand in the snow.Â
âProfessor, Iâm really sorry but I cannotââ A snowball surged through the air and fell right on Severusâ face. Michael looked at the scene completely shocked before he allowed his wand to fall back down as he bent over with laughter.Â
âWho the hellââ Severus started, but then another snowball flew through the air and fell on the side of Michaelâs head, which got Severus to scoff. Remus was not wearing his gloves at this point either. âIs this funny to you?â Severus asked as he looked around annoyed.Â
âPlenty,â said Evan as he threw a snowball straight at his face.Â
Severus seemed even more offended that his housemate had thrown a snowball at his face than anything, but then a rouge snowball from Sirius fell on a random student and since he thought it had been someone else, he retaliated towards Imogen and Alice, who of course wouldnât stay with their arms closed.Â
Less than 10 snowballs later, a fight had ensued. There were snowballs falling on the fires and on the food, and even the students who had been trying to read a book, or work on homework (which of course there were some) had now joined. Remus and Sirius and you had started out as a team, until Sirius accidentally threw a snowball at Remus and he retaliated with one towards him that ended up falling on your arm.Â
Eventually, Sirius was focusing solely on Remus and Remus on Sirius and you decided to pull back a little since you had already gotten like 10 balls clash onto you in the crossfire. It was as you stood close to the lake, using a spell to make about 20 snowballs at once, that someone with a disillusionment charm passed through and pulled you back behind some old stone walls that you assumed had been some ancient building that the school hadnât cared much about maintaining.
âHey Reg,â you said when you noticed it was him.Â
He smiled, pulled his head up to make sure no one had spotted him dragging you there and turned back. âHowâd you know it was me?â.Â
âAll my other friends with mad disillusionment skills are in the middle of a snowfight.âÂ
âCould have been an enemy,â he said in a rather serious tone âyou did notice the irony of that thought.
âAn enemy wouldnât have pulled me anywhere nearly as gently as you did.â You shrugged.
He rolled his eyes and shook his head, casting a spell around the two of you so you were both now invisible, but somehow heâd managed to make himself visible to you and vice versa.
âYou have to teach me that trick.âÂ
âSo you fill the school up with more toads?âÂ
You gasped in surprise. âWhat makes you assume it was me?âÂ
âYou werenât at the Great Hall when chaos ensued, as if you knew it was going to happen.â Â
âYou were looking for me?â you asked tilting your head to the side with a teasing smile. But Reggieâs face made you realise he was not in the same spirits as you were. âWhat?âÂ
âI wanted to talk to you.âÂ
âThat does not sound like good news whatsoever,â you said, somehow still half-jokingly but with an almost strained tone, as you didnât want to hear what would happen next.Â
Regulus took a deep breath and then turned back to you. âAfter the Christmas party⌠they thought Iâd helped you.âÂ
âBut you tried to stop me!âÂ
âThey didnât believe you knocked me out just like thatâŚÂ Evan and Crouch were also on the line.âÂ
âBut the wand I gave Bartyââ
âIt didnât matter,â he said. âArkalis for some reason thought Evan would protect you⌠Of all people, can you believe that?â
You tilted your head to the side and let out a low âhmmmâ.Â
âWait, you can?âÂ
âItâs a long story. But Arkalis believes I hooked up with him.âÂ
âWith Evan?â asked Regulus. He might have not been in the class but he very well knew about the animosity you had towards each other, and he also knew about him and Barty.
âItâs a long story,â you repeated.Â
Regulus shook his head and sighed before he spoke again. âAnyway, we had to convince them that we all hate your guts.âÂ
âCouldnât have been hard for those two,â you joked, but Reggie didnât seem to loosen up after that either, he was tense still.Â
âHow are you?â He changed the subject. You were about to say you were fine but he didnât let you speak. âReally.âÂ
You swallowed.Â
âI see youâve been using her wand.âÂ
You stopped breathing for a moment, not knowing exactly how to respond to that. âBetter than I was then,â you said honestly. âIâve⌠so much has happened since. Itâs been crazy but the boys have been there for me, through and through. You?âÂ
He smiled when he heard you. He could tell you werenât lying. âWe convinced them we never helped you.âÂ
There was an apprehensive way in the way he said it as if heâd had to do something awful to achieve it. âWhat did theyââ Your words got caught in your throat as he rolled back his sleeve.Â
His pale arm had been tainted, marred with a symbol that it took you no more than a second to recognise. A snake with a skull on top, exactly like the one you had seen up in the sky when he persuaded you to stay outside. For a second you wondered if your mother would still be alive had you actually listened to him. It was a terribly destructive thought that you knew you shouldnât allow to roam in your mind for too long unless you wanted to be back where youâd been before the mirror.
You took it in your hands and pulled it towards you. âReggie,â you said, afflicted as you looked at his arm. âDid itâ Did it hurt?â He stayed quiet, clenching his jaw, which was enough for you to know it had.Â
âHe can call us whenever he wants now. That hurts more.â
âCanât we remove it?âÂ
âI donât think itâs possible, dark magic is involved. Like a curse.â Â
âAll courses can be broken,â you said with determination. âSirius is way better at that than me thought, perhaps we can talk to him andââÂ
âNo!â he let out in a rush.
âNo?âÂ
âSiriusâ animosity towards me was one of the things that convinced them that I wasnât on your side. Evan also used Sirius as his excuse to not helping you. And while weâre supposed to pretend to be friends with you at school, itâs only to keep an eye, and make sure you donât interfere again, if notâŚâÂ
âI get it,â you interrupted, not wanting him to say the words that both of you knew would follow. âBut, your brother he, you wonât be able to make up with him. I know heâd like to have his little brother back, Reggie. He misses you.âÂ
âVery peculiar way heâs got to show it,â he responded sarcastically, in a way that was incredibly reminiscent of Sirius himself.
âYouâre no better than him.âÂ
âWell, he shows you he loves you.â Â
âHeâs still angry about the stuff that happened that summer,â you explained. âBut he misses you still.âÂ
âHe has James.âÂ
You sighed, you werenât sure how to respond to that. âHe needs to think youâre on their side?âÂ
âThereâs nothing more convincing than his scorn,â he said coldly, you could see it hurt him either way.Â
âAnd I? Must I pretend to hate you too?âÂ
âNo,â he said as he shook his head. âWeâre meant to keep an eye on you, remember?âÂ
âSo I shouldnât be surprised if I end up with Slytherin satellites?âÂ
âI doubt anyone will take it seriously. Except perhaps Mulociber and Severus sinceââÂ
âThey too?â you asked in shock. Both of them already hated your guts. Perhaps as much as Barty and Evan had before Christmas.Â
âMore than me, Evan and Crouch, even. Since they got in themselves, not through their family connections.âÂ
âShit.â You said as you thought to the fact that Severus had seen Remus and Sirius in the bathroom. Would he be scared enough just with Siriusâ threats to leave that fact alone? Would he go running to inform Orion? Did he even have a way to contact Orion? What would the Blacks do if they found out?Â
âYeah,â he agreed. He wanted to ask you how you were coping. Especially about your mother, sheâd seen how much closer you were to her than to your father, and while he would have been almost pleased to have Walburga out of the way, the way in which you had defended Avis was enough for him to know it wasnât like that for you at all. âIâm sorry about⌠everything that happened on Christmas.âÂ
âIâm sorry about this,â you said as you placed your hand over his arm again, rubbing your thumb over the mark, as if that would wipe it from his arm. âAnd everything they made you do after Christmas.âÂ
Perhaps it wasnât the nicest thing to bond over your sorrows, but at least, Regulus had someone he could talk to. You had always had James and Lily and all your other friends to bond with, but Reggie could not talk about any of the things he thought with almost any of the Slytherins. He could trust no one, he didnât want to risk it.Â
âThat doesnât mean anything,â he said as he looked at the mark. âIâm on your side. Iâll always be on your side.âÂ
You knew he meant it. From day one, even if reluctantly, Regulus had been on your side. And something deep inside told you that he would be till the day he died. And while it was reassuring to know that you had friends who would stand by you no matter what, you had also seen first-hand what standing by you no matter what could do to them.
âStay safe,â you retorted. âDonât put yourself in harmâs way for my sake.âÂ
âWould you even listen if I asked that of you?â he said with a small, almost teasing-like smirk that reminded you just how much of Siriusâ little brother he was. Sometimes even the way he walked was so reminiscent of Sirius that you had âupon seeing him by the corner of your eyeâ thought it was him.Â
âDo as I say, not as I do!â you retorted with a smile as well. Reggie was bringing down his shirt sleeve and buttoning it as neatly as if it had never been pulled up.Â
âHypocrite.âÂ
âIâm older, I get to be one,â you added teasingly, he actually smiled after that, it was a genuine smile. Almost a twin to Siriusâ except his was a little brighter. You wondered if someone would ever make Reggie smile like his brother, you hoped there would.Â
âYou really should have been a Slytherin.âÂ
âDonât go around saying that, you might get beaten up by James,â you smiled. And pulled your wand out of your pocket before smiling and passing it over to him, he looked at you with narrowed eyes. And then you smiled. âCareful, youâll get cold.âÂ
âWhat?â he asked, confused.Â
You smiled and pushed him gently so that he wasnât covered by the rocks anymore. âHey!â you said in a voice that didnât quite sound like you. âRegulus is hiding over there!âÂ
Regulus gasped and then turned to you with a shocked smile. Now that was the kind of smile you were looking for. âYou traitor,â he mouthed as several snowballs crashed against him. Three on his arm, one on his face that made snow splatter and colour a good deal of his hair white, and then one on the side of his leg.Â
You winked and picked up a ball yourself, throwing it towards him. âGo on seeker, letâs see if youâre as good at avoiding small balls as you are chasing them!âÂ
He smiled and shook his head, rolling down on the snow and picking a ball before throwing it straight at your face, even if you were still invisible.Â
âYou were saying?â he asked with a smile.Â

A/N: Since we're getting close to the end, I'm planning to do a reread (10-15 chaps left) + heavy revision once we're done (still a few months from there but it's probably going to be done sometime this year) because I want to make my own printed version of it (probably on Lulu), and perhaps a cute epub file? It will probably contain pictures, fan art, and other bonus material. Either way, if you want to collaborate, either in the revision or in bonus content, please don't hesitate to hit me up. Sidenote: please check out this ANNOUNCEMENT regarding some alterations to the posting schedule for the rest of the month.

We Don't Have to Dance |Part two| Worst Logan
Buy me a Ko-Fi! It helps keep the story running
My requests are Open and my masterlist is here
Cw: accidental, anxiety induced self harm, poor mental health. Soulmate AU! mentions of Althea's drug use, kinda short.
It was another day and you were once again poking around with your breakfast on your plate, fiddling with the fork. Colossus, Elle, and Yukio had already finished, leaving you behind. You were too deep into thought to even try to break out of your trance. You spent the whole time thinking about the logan you'd seen yesterday. Everybody knew about how your late husband ended up rescuing his daughter, and ended up losing his life In the process. You were distraught over the revelation that his daughter was the same woman you'd seen with this new Logan. This soulmate that seemed to have found his way back to you.
You knew it wasn't the same man. Biologically, sure. In every sense, technically. But not emotionally. Not truly. This wasn't the Logan that you'd spent so many years with. This certainly wasn't the Logan that married you. This man hardly knew you, or so you thought. Your gaze had drifted to the name scrolled along your forearm and you grew restless. It became itchy and you grew disturbed, stuck in your mind as you stared. Gingerly reaching your other hand to scratch at the words, the sensation didn't Seem to stop. Your ears rang as you tried scratching harder and harder, desperately trying to rip the tainted skin from your arm. Tight silver hands grasped your wrists and quickly separated your now bloody nails from bloodied words and you felt wet drip down your cheek.
âNo,â you cried. âNo it hurts, he's gone-No, he's gone,â you thrashed in Colossusâs hands, not hearing the words he was grumbling. You tried ripping your hands from his grasp but stilled when you felt a canceling collar snap around your neck.
The world changed and you slumped, staring ahead of you, finally processing the words that you were hearing.
âIf your mind keeps getting caught up, [Name], we are going to have to keep the collar on you. You can't be present otherwise. You're loosing control.â You shifted to look at Collosus and Ellie behind You.
âI,â your brain calmed down but you had to take time to find your words. âI'm sorry. What happened?â Your now free hands felt at the collar around your neck and you paled, snaping your whole body around to look at the destruction you caused. The wall behind you was charred black with an outline matching your body. Colossus frowned.
âYou've lost your mind again, and you're hurting yourself, too.â He motioned towards you arm and you looked at the skin that you tore. The skin with Logan's real name. The pigmentation ran down, as deep as the skin existed, bit parts of it were marred and scabbing over with rash-looking scrapes.
âIt was hurting,â you murmured. âI don't know what happened it was just hurting, it was itching. I wanted it to stop.â You sounded confused, and Colossus's look softened.
âYou need therapy. You need to return to work on the team, to give yourself an outlet.â Your lips pursed as you looked towards him. Ellie placed a hand on your shoulder.
âIt is a good stress reliever.â
âI haven't worked since he left,â you mumbled. âSince he ran away with the professor. I don't know if I can control them now, and without the professor to shut me down?â you watched the scabs heal and flake off, the dead skin falling into your lap. Your arm looked as pristine as it was before, as if it was never marred by your anxiety riddled fingers.
âI will just gently knock you out,â Colossus put out his palm and degenerated by gently putting his fist into to, imitating a much gentle version of his punch. âNo trouble, no pain.â You swallowed.
âI'm intimidated by what could happen.â
Distantly, Yukioâs cheerful voice rung through the halls as she skipped towards the group. She was waving Ellieâs phone back and fourth above her head.
âWade texted, Althea and him are having a picnic. They want us to come!â Ellie moved, removing her hand from her shoulder and opening her arms for her girlfriend. She asked Yukio if she wanted to go and Colossus leaned, looming over you.
âWe go to that picnic. Getting out is good for you, no?â You blew a hor breath out your lips, grimacing.
Youâd just arrived at the park with the girls. Your signature look was on, a basic pair of black shoes, khaki pants, and a random long-sleeve shirt underneath Loganâs old jacket he'd left behind. You were talking with them about the latest season on Botox Baby, one that they'd yet to see. They were eagerly absorbing what you had to say, relishing in the fact that one of the twins had received her third round of lip filler.
âoh my GOD look at you guys,â Wade squealed. He cherrily clapped his hands and he kicked his feet out onto the massive blanket under him. You wrinkled your nose as his bare feet, cursing him for not wearing his socks that were stuffed into his crocks.
You looked at him and noticed that Logan, Laura, and the dog were further in the grass playing fetch behind him. You focused your attention on Althea.
âAl,â you separated from the girls as they beelined towards the pink-pajama clad man. âHow are you doing?â She was sitting neatly under a tree. Her face was shockingly bitchish, more than usual. Her glasses sat on her nose as she held her face up towards the sun.
âOh, [Name], dear. You have no clue. I've run outta crack trying to deal with the loud mouth fighting with silent and broody. They are driving me up the wall and I'm âbout ready to sting them from a ceilingâ beam and dry âem like bacon.â You snorted.
âSo they've been home two days and you're already done with them?â
âOh HELL yes, I CANNOT keep dealing with them keepinâ me up at night. That surely little girl been sleepinâ in the room with me but thoes two keep going at it in the living room. I went out there this morning and it smelled like enough blood that an elephant was slaughtered on the carpet. I swear, that stain will never come out, n I can't even see it!â You cringed at the imagery on a hanging elephant.
âThat⌠isn't pleasant sounding.â She nodded her head in agreement.
âWhat about you, baby girl? I can practically smell the blood underneath your fingernails. She waved a finger in the air. âYou're not back to work are ya?â furiously shaking your head you mumbled. âNo, I just had a little incident at home. I guess I forgot to wash my hands. Colossus wants me to go back to work though.â
You cocked you head to the side as heavy footballs padded your way. Logan was walking towards you. You sucked in a breat and a fire of anxiety settled in your belly. Your throat suddenly burned and shifted away from him, hardly noticeable, but enough to help you conceal your inner turmoil. It was like putting your back to him, as if you were making a wall to keep him at a distance, safe for your heart. He knelt down next to you and Althea and cleared his throat. Alâs hand jutted out and jabbed towards him, but he was just out of her reach.
âYou scared the fuck outta me, Logan. Why don't âchu wear a bell or somethinâ?â a tiny, nearly invisible smile quirked on the aides of his lips.
âSorry, Al.â He turned his attention towards you. âYou're [Name], yeah?â you side-eyed him and swallowed thickly. âI know Wade kinda Introduced me last night but Imâm Logan.â
âI know who you are,â you muttered. âYou don't have to talk to me. He sucked on his teeth and then took a deep nose breath. âI know I don't have to. I want to,â he cast his look down to the grass thinking about something. You turned sour, your anxiety peaking.
âSorry, âm not in the mood.â Your looked away thing your face away from him. You didn't want him to see it, incase he could see your tell. Logan always told you that he could tell the way you felt, just by looking at you. You wondered if he could, or if he did imagine your face when he abandoned you the year before his death. You wondered if he knew your heart would break when he took the professor, but not his wife.
Logan could smell The sour emotions reeking out of you. He felt heated, and angry with Wade that he'd even suggest him coming to talk to you. Before you died in his world, you were about to get married. It was only a week away. He just wanted To get wasted. He had a nasty fight with you and came back to a dead body. He never got to make things right, and Wade talked about you as if you'd jump into his arms with just the chance to talk to him.
He swallowed And took the defeat. Be wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. Not in this universe. He's just grateful that you're alive. He pushed himself up and turned, walking away. He didn't want to push you to talk to him, and by the smell of your emotions, you were to far into your mind to talk, anyways.

The Yule Ball, pt. 1
Severus Snape x professor!reader

i also wanted to post this because i asked about it a while ago lmao, but i'm going to split it into two parts and finish the end of the second part tomorrow after work, it's mostly done, i just need to tidy it up hehe. this isn't very long, however, in part two, it gets good of course. pls don't hate me :( </3
i hope you are all doing well!! :)
warnings: slight harassment? ew, karkaroff
The atmosphere in the Great Hall was sparkling and lively as loud laughter and chatter filled the wintry and festively decorated room. Several large round tables were dotted around the sides of it, laden with beautiful white centrepieces and matching silver cutlery and glittering glassware. Long, blue-grey curtains adorned with artifical snow hung from the walls between the majestic and mythical stone statues, as if imitating frozen waterfalls. A warm and fuzzy feeling settled in your body as you glanced around the gorgeously decorated Hall, a small smile finding your cherry-red painted lips.Â
You sat alone at a table in a silky, backless, long-sleeved dress with only a goblet of wine for company as you watched students and teachers alike dance joyously on the floor to a melodious tune. You had to bite back an amused grin as your eyes caught sight of Hagrid's hand slipping down to Madame Maxine's rear. She quickly swatted it away, and you couldn't help but chuckle quietly to yourself. Ever since the international schools arrived at Hogwarts, Hagrid seemed to be smitten with the enormous witch, and you could see why. Madame Maxine was stunning and classy; always dressed in the finest attire you could ever imagine - and of course, always carried herself with elegance. You envied her slightly as you watched the pair sway sweetly together.
Speaking of the international schools, a certain Headmaster had taken a liking to you during their stay and Hogwarts, and it didn't please you at all. In fact, it made you rather uncomfortable. Well, he made you uncomfortable. You shivered slightly at the thought of Igor Karkaroff and lifted your goblet of wine to your lips, downing the rest of it carelessly. You'd been avoiding him all night, and you hoped you wouldn't have to speak to him for the rest of it.Â
As you placed the goblet back down, you glanced around, catching sight of Minerva stood to the right of Dumbledore and Snape who were currently observing the dancing students. Though you were looking at the older witch, your eyes were magnetically pulled to the wizard dressed in all black - surprisingly without his signature cloak.
Professor Snape.
You'd spoken to him a few times, but not many - he wasn't the most welcoming man you'd met. In fact, he was rather cold and short with you, which wasn't too unsurprising since he'd taught you back in the day when you attended Hogwarts as a student. So, you knew exactly what he was like. In those days, despite his harsh and cruel attitude towards you and your classmates, you developed a silly little crush on him. You weren't exactly sure why - perhaps it was the mysterious aura that he possessed, or his deep, sultry and silky voice he spoke with, or maybe it was just the plain simple fact that he was... attractive to you. Gods, your classmates would have disowned you, had you admitted such a thing.
Regardless of your history here, being the youngest professor here was a little intimidating to say the least, and the need to prove yourself was overwhelming. At times, you felt as if you didn't deserve your post as the professor of Astronomy - how could a twenty-something-year-old be qualified enough to teach students less than ten years their junior? Doubting yourself was bound to happen, especially in the presence of such talented, wise wizards like Dumbledore, Flitwick and McGonagall - Flitwick was a duelling champion, for goodness sake. And what were you? Merely infatuated with the nightsky and everything that possibly dwells beyond it? Merlin.
A deflated sigh swiftly fell from your lips as you quickly stood up from your seat, beginning to reluctantly head over in the direction of your fellow colleagues. It's not like you didn't want to stand with them, you just felt awfully out of place, and you didn't want to look weird by sitting all by your lonesome all night. Being the new person at the new job was never fun.
As you neared them, your eyes were drawn to the gloomy Potions Master again. As if he could sense someone watching him, his deep black eyes flicked to you, and you quickly glanced away with burning cheeks, walking forwards to stop beside Minerva. Maybe your crush never went away, and you winced slightly at the thought.
Turning to Minerva, she looked at you with happy eyes, a smile gracing her lips. "Y/N," Minerva beamed, her shoulders relaxing in a cheerful manner, "we'd wondered where you'd disappeared off to."
You hummed happily at her words, your stiff body relaxing slightly. McGonagall had been your favourite professor when you'd studied at Hogwarts, even though you didn't exactly excel in her class of Transfiguration. She never berated you for your lack of skill in the subject and that was probably what solidified your preference.
You looked at the witch beside you, though a silhouette of a prominent nose and a mop of black hair clouded your vision. "Just needed a sit down, really." You replied with a soft voice, smiling as you linked your fingers together in front of your waist. "Also, I fancied some more wine, it's rather moreish." Minerva and Dumbledore chuckled at your light-hearted joke, but Snape did not. You swallowed awkwardly.
"Perhaps it isn't wise to be drinking in the presence of students, Professor L/N." Snape drawled in a demeaning tone from beside Dumbledore, side-eyeing you.
"What makes you think I'm going to get drunk?" You frowned, his subtle dig at you twisting your insides. Crush or not, he was getting under your skin.
Snape snorted slightly, "A history of misbehaviour at Hogwarts doesn't bode well." He said, turning his head to face you. You fought the itching urge to roll your eyes at his words, remembering that one time you had pranked his class.
"That was one time, Snape." You sighed, fighting hard not to groan. Apparently, he wasn't going to let this go. "And it was years ago now."
"I wouldn't want to take any chances." He sneered at you, and your stomach twisted horribly. Did he really despise you that much? It hurt to say the least, you thought he would've put that in the past and moved on, but apparently grudges are the next best thing.
"Right." You huffed quietly, and Minerva cast an awkward glance to Dumbledore who also looked rather uncomfortable. Yes, this was a terrible idea coming to stand with your colleagues. A fucking terrible idea. Snape always had to make you look childish. Suddenly, you pathetically wished that Karkaroff would suddenly appear and bother you so you wouldn't have to deal with this awful interaction. Anything would be better than this right now.
As if on cue, someone called your name. "Would you excuse me?" You sighed, casting an apologetic smile towards Dumbledore and McGonagall, purposefully ignoring Snape. Dumbledore also excused himself, leaving only the Heads of Slythering and Gryffindor together.
As you and Dumbledore walked off, Minerva turned to Snape with scornful eyes. "You shouldn't be so harsh on her, Severus," she huffed, "she's not a child anymore. Y/N is an adult, capable of making adult decisions. There's no need for such hostility."Â
Snape didn't reply, he only sighed heavily at Minerva's comment, prompting the older witch to roll her eyes at his petty behaviour. Though, underneath his cold and dismissive attitude towards you, there was something else. Something he did not want to unfold, nor understand. It wasn't a familiar feeling, and that was what worried him. And so, each time you spoke to him or looked at him, he had chosen to push that feeling away by being malicious to you. Snape wasn't fond of it, and he did resent himself slightly by acting so horribly towards you. Something inside of him tugged at his heart each time your face fell due to his sharp words, or the way he'd glare at you whenever you looked at him. It was the only thing he knew. Snape wasn't familiar with nor welcoming to feelings other than hatred or disdain.
The Potions Master cast his eyes over the crowds of students, absent-mindedly looking for your small figure. It's not like he wanted to check on you, he just wanted to see who had called for you, out of... curiosity. And there you were, chatting with the Weasley twins. Snape couldn't remember your exact age, but he was sure you were mid-twenties, perhaps early-twenties. Your youthful face and essence said so. As he observed you, his chest burned unusually as you laughed at something the twins had said, and it burned even hotter when he saw them hand you something. What were they doing?
"It's just a little something," Fred grinned goofily in his tuxedo as you held a small, neatly-wrapped box in your hands. It was a pale red, with a shining green bow. You looked up at them and smiled gratefully.
"Yeah, we just wanted to say thanks for being a brilliant teacher," George added after his brother, making you grin amused. The two of them always made you laugh in your classes, it was like they were the same person from how well they bounced off of each other.
"Oh, thank you, boys," you grinned, a little shocked at their kindness, "you didn't need to get me anything." Both Fred and George grinned together, their fluffy ginger hair bouncing a tad as they glanced at each other.
"You're our favourite, you know," George said, and Fred nodded with him, beaming. You chuckled at their silly smiles.
"Yeah, you're a thousand times better than any of the other professors," Fred agreed cheerfully, folding his arms against his chest.
"Especially Snape-" George interjected. Your heart skipped a beat at the sound of his name.
"Yeah, he's a right old miserable git, he is." Fred grumbled, nodding behind you. "He's staring right at us, too." Your stomach dropped the second Fred said those words, and you quickly whipped your head around, your eyes meeting with Snape's own fierce ones. As quickly as you looked at him, you turned back around, your face becoming hot and pink.
"Are you blushing, professor?" George grinned wickedly, glancing at his brother who also shared that same expression.
 "No!" You answered quickly, gasping.
"Don't tell me you like that horrible arse," Fred laughed, his eyebrows shooting upwards.
"I wouldn't have expected you to fancy a Slytherin like him." George frowned, his nose turning up in slight disgust. "I mean, he hates everything and everyone, why would you-"
"I never even said I liked him! You two just assumed so!" You scoffed, folding your arms against your chest. The twins laughed at your reaction, glancing at each other. "Anyway, boys, thank you for the gift, but this conversation is over." Another hefty sigh fell from your lips as you looked between the two of them, smiling politely.
"Professor L/N," A raspy, deep voice came from behind you, and instantly, your blood went cold. You knew that thick accent very well. Fred and George Weasley looked like they were on the verge of busting out laughing. They knew of your dislike for the Durmstrang Headmaster, and you were sure that the majority of the school knew of his weird, little thing for you.
"Headmaster Karkaroff." You turned around hesitantly, fighting back a scream of utter frustration. He looked a little more groomed than usual - his messy, dark brown hair with specks of gray in it was brushed through, and his long goatee had been neatly manipulated into a sharp point. You were also surprised to see him dressed in such expensive looking clothing. The dress coat he sported was a creamy-beige, adorned with a shining black leather belt around his middle, accentuating his lanky figure.
"You look like you need a dance," The corners of his lips turned upwards into a mischievous smirk, and an uncomfortable shiver ran down your spine. "May I help with that?" Karkaroff held out his hand, and your eyes shot down towards it.
"Erm," you stuttered, "well-" You couldn't find the words at all, and it wasn't helping that you could hear the twins behind you snickering to themselves. Before you could even answer, Karkaroff had his hand grasping yours and tugging you to the dancefloor. You stumbled slightly at how fast he had pulled you, and with your other hand, you reached down to grab your skirt to hike it up so you wouldn't trip over.
As the pair of you reached the floor after winding through hoards of dancing students, Karkaroff spun you around a little too quickly, and you ungracefully fell into his chest with a squeak. "Sorry," you mumbled, using a hand to push yourself away from him, "I wasn't really expecting you to do... that."
"You know," Igor chuckled, ignoring your previous comments, "I've been waiting for this moment ever since I arrived here at Hogwarts." He admitted with a wicked smirk, allowing his rough, bony fingers to slide down your bare back, gripping you a little too tightly for your liking.
"...To dance?" You frowned, using your free hand to fidget with his hand that laid flat against your bare back, silently telling him to ease off a little. "Don't be silly." You chuckled awkwardly, casting a glance over to where you had previously stood with the other teachers as you and Karkaroff swayed. Only Snape remained, and your face grew as hot as a firepit as you noticed his eyes were already stuck on you. His face was the usual unhappy, scornful, sour frown.
"Oh, but I am not being silly, little bird." Igor murmured, pushing his face closer to yours. Instinctively, you pulled your head away from his, scrunching your nose up at the awful pet name.
"Little bird?" You repeated, almost choking the words out. You squirmed within his uncomfy grip, casting another glance to Snape, hoping that he'd have just an ounce of human decency to realise that you were asking for help. Surely, he wouldn't be that much of an arsehole to ignore the sign of a colleague in trouble.
"Yes," Igor smiled, making your skin crawl. "You remind me of a little bird - tiny, beautiful..." Your eyes widened at his words, and again, you glanced to where you had seen Snape. Your heart dropped like a rock as you noticed the empty space where he had previously stood. You knew he was a dick, but not so much of a dick to let you get taken hostage by a man you hardly knew - and didn't want to know. "So beautiful... why don't we ditch this party and head back to my quarters? I could show you around." Karkaroff muttered and pulled you even closer, grinning lecherously as he brushed his nose against the crook of your neck. Your breath hitched - but not in a good way.
"Igor..." Your voice was shaky, yet low, indicating that you weren't comfortable at all.
"How about we go somewhere more private?" Karkaroff's hands tightened even more as they slipped down to your hips, pulling your body flush against his. A quiet gasp left your lips as you pressed your palms flat against his chest, attempting to push him off of you. Your eyes flicked to where Snape once stood again, but he was no-where to be seen.
"Something caught your eye, pilentse?" Karkaroff hummed lowly, his eyes narrowing, evidently upset that your attention is busied with something or someone else.
"No." You quickly replied - almost too quickly. "I just need a refreshment, do you mind?" You forced yourself to glance up at Karkaroff's intense, wrinkled eyes.
"Oh, no, that can wait. I've waited almost the whole night for this moment..." Igor grumbled with a sneer as his grip on you became deeper and a little tighter, as if to say you weren't leaving until he deemed it so. That was until you saw that same sneer fall from his face, replaced with what looked like fear. Instantly, your brows furrowed together into a confused frown as you noticed his eyes dart from yours to something behind you, and so you turned around, curious to see why Karkaroff looked like he was about to flee.
"Karkaroff." Snape's deep, almost threatening voice reached your ears, and immediately, your mouth went dry as your heart leaped up into it. So... he did notice you? A rush of relief filled your body and your shoulders relaxed a tad. Snape glanced down at you, his thick mop of black hair framing his pale face. The blue-white light from above highlighted his prominent, handsome features perfectly, and you felt a sense of warmth prickle your skin, pooling in your stomach. You looked away, certain that if you kept staring, he'd assume you were weird or something along those lines.
Igor swallowed thickly, his bony fingers digging into the skin of your back in fear. You winced slightly at the sharp prod, catching Snape's attention. His eyes darted down to where Karkaroff had an iron-grip on you, and his lip twitched into the beginning of a sneer as he looked back to Igor's worried eyes. "Snape," The Durmstrang Headmaster greeted the gloomy Potions Master, clearly a little afraid of him. Apparently everyone was fearful of Snape, except for a select few, you realised. "What can I help you with?" Karkaroff's thick accent had slipped slightly, his voice wavering. You had to stifle a laugh at that - how was a man like Igor Karkaroff afraid of Snape? There was definitely something that you were missing here.
"Professor L/N," Snape ignored Karkaroff and shifted his bored expression to you, though you didn't miss the venomous look that he'd shot at the Bulgarian. You were still in disbelief that Snape had answered your silent cries for help, let alone actually come to save you from Karkaroff's slimy grasp. "I believe we have some important matters to tend to." Snape said matter-of-factly, arching a brow at you expectantly.Â
"Wait, what?-" You choked out with wide eyes. You'd been staring a little too hard at Snape, and so you stumbled over your words, unprepared. "Oh, right, yeah- the, erm, the... valerian root." You finished, turning a bright shade of red as Snape's brows furrowed at you in a judgemental fashion, as if to say 'seriously?'.
"Yes," Snape drawled, dragging his disappointed eyes from you to Karkaroff. You huffed quietly, embarrassed. "The valerian root." The Potion Master repeated, shooting you a glare. He held out his hand for you to take, and you reached out to grasp a hold of it, when you were suddenly tugged backwards by Karkaroff. Snape's narrowed eyes darted to the Headmaster's hand wrapped securely around your waist, his nostrils flaring in slight anger. This old, despicable man had no business holding a young witch like you in such a manner.
"That can wait, surely?" Karkaroff said, his voice low as he tucked you closer to his side. You shot a desperate glance to Snape, begging him to help you again. A frustrated breath shot out of his nostrils.
"Tragically, no." Snape quipped sarcastically, his dark eyes piercing a burning hole through Karkaroff. Snape looked furious - his body was rigid. He hadn't moved a muscle apart from his eyes to look at either you or Igor. "Professor?" He glanced to you, stretching his hand to you once more, and you took it happily, allowing him to pull you out of Karkaroff's slimy hands and to his safe side. Your cheeks flushed pink at the closeness between you two, and you kept your eyes on the ground as Snape shifted his hand to sit on the small of your back, guiding you away from Karkaroff.

If Severus had been a girl, her story would have been mostly the same as canon, except that the Marauders maybe wouldn't have been so harsh with their bullying because "she wasn't a threat to James' crush on Lily" and "she's just a girl, girls are fragile". However, she would have still been in love with her and James knew that, so he still despised her, thinking she was holding Lily back from him.
Now unto my personal headcanons (because they fit and they make me happy):
- Fem! Severus wouldn't have shared a room with Mulciber and Avery, so she would have befriended her female roommates instead. I believe the fanaticism for the Death Eaters cult was more prominent in boys than girls, because society expected them to stay at home and raise more purebloods than participate in battles. However, she would've still hung out with them because they shared the same interest for Dark Arts.
-Her roommates would be Dorcas Meadow, Pandora Rosier (Evan Rosier's cousin) and Theresa Flint (the last one is an oc of mine)
- She would be a tomboy for the first few years, having her hair cut short and wear the male uniform instead of the female one. Partly because she's used to wearing boy clothes and partly to avoid embarrassing pranks from the Marauders. Due to this, she's often mistaken for a boy and fits in better with her male classmates.
- She knows wizards are more respected that witches, so she strives to imitate a masculine appearance to earn that (at first). It's not a case of "I'm not like other girls". She wants to survive.
- She's been infatuated with Lily since they met, but this crush wears off as Snape sees Lily's selfishness and hypocrisy. By the time their friendship is over, Snape is already disillusioned with her but still tries to hold into their old bond out of emotional attachment rather than love.
- She faced her own prejudice and hardships in Slytherin for being a poor half-blood, with a disgraced pureblood mother. She only earned her place when she showed off her talent and bested a few of her housemates. Basically, she had to win fights, physical and magical, against her own housemates until they deemed she deserved to be in Slytherin.
-In canon, Lucius took Snape under his wing and treated him like a brother in Hogwarts. In this, it's Narcissa who sees the potential in Snape and practically adopts her, and Lucius follows her example. Thanks to the older girl, Snape experiences nice clothes and good school tools for the first time. Narcissa is quite her sugar mommyl, but Snape is also her pet project.
- She's a bit of "one of the boys", although they're not really friends until fourth year. The boys were Mulciber, Avery, Wilkes and Rosier. They accepted her because they didn't really consider her a girl and they begrudgingly respected her skills. It was a mutual understanding that they used each other for their own benefits, Snape helping them with her intellect and spells while they helped her into getting assimilated with the other Slytherins. As they grew and got to know Snape beyond her blood status, they became protective of her and started to cherish her truly as a friend (althought Rosier took it to another level)
-Which brings us to my next headcanon. In my au, Rosier and Snape had a nice connection on first year when they sat together during History of Magic. He's one of the few that was welcoming of Snape since the start and always treated her like an equal. She's very fond of him because of it, and they grow to be very close friends.
-Regulus still looked up to her when they were students. He didn't trust her at first, because of her blood status and all, but seeing she had Narcissa's favour, he decided to look past it. And after witnessing her talent, he decided he wanted to learn more about her, so he began to follow her around to know her better. Snape was annoyed initially, but she eventually appreciated his company.
-She showed some genuine kindness to Barty Crouch Jr on his first year at Hogwarts, and the boy latched unto her like an eager puppy since then. That's how he befriended Regulus, with both of them following her around so often.
-They were both her little brothers, her precious babies, who couldn't do nothing wrong even if they tried. She was patient and permissive with them in a way she definitely wasn't with her other friends.
-She's the brain of the group, so she's usually saving their asses from the consequences of their actions (Mulciber, Avery and Wilkers) and helping them with their schemes (Dorcas, Rosier and Narcissa).
-In her desire to remain in Lily's life and have the girl's love, Snape repressed herself and kept her Slytherin friends at arms' length, which caused many arguments. When she and Lily had that fallout, Snape fully embraced her identity and, in return, her housemates embraced her too, as if they had been waiting for her.
-She was a natural Occlumens, unconsciously developing her ability while she learnt to mask her feelings and thoughts, product of the abuse and harassment she went throught.
-Her boggart used to be her father, Tobias Snape, but after "the prank", it became a werewolf instead.
-After what happened in the Shrieking Sack, she inmersed herself in researchs about lycanthropy and possible cures in order to forget her fear.
-When she experimented with potions, she tried them first on small animals, mostly rats and birds. Then bigger animals, like owls and cats. And lately, in the final phase of testing, she tried them on herself. Only her friends knew about this practise, since Snape made them promise to not tell a soul, since she didn't trust the Hogwarts staff to be understanding about it.
-When something goes wrong on the final test, she heals in the privacy of her bed while her friends take care of her, lying to the teachers that she's sick. They dread this practise of hers, since they can't stand seeing her in pain, but also had mad respect for her because of it.
-She was a control freak, obsessively cleaning and arranging her stuff with systems only she understands. She always knew when someone touched her things, just by seeing them moved the slighest bit to the different position she left them. Her housemates knew better than disrupt her order.
-Her talent with potions surpassed even Slughorn himself, but he preferred to praise Lily because her looks and attitude fit more in his club. He came to regret that decision years later, but Snape knows how to keep grudges.
-She considered Mulciber, Avery, Dorcas, Pandora, Rosier, Regulus and Barty her closest friends within Slytherin. The rest were just acquaintances. She was also close to Aurora Sinistra, from Ravenclaw, and Charity Burbage, from Hufflepuff.
-She and Charity danced around the lines separating friendship from romance for a while, but Snape wasn't ready for that step and Charity moved on. They remained good friends.
-She was a raging bisexual, because obviously.
-She didn't support the Death Eaters' beliefs, but she really looked up to the figure of Lord Voldemort. A poor half-blood like her, who paved his way to the top of the hierarchy with his charms, wit and power, making all the pureblood families submit to him. He was everything she aspired to be, everything she wanted to have. However, she soon realized her vision didn't exactly match reality...
And that's all. I have more but I wrote too much already. I'm on a hyperfixation, so I'll definitely write more about her in the future.
Feel free to tell me your own ideas or headcanons. I'll love to discuss them.
Tagging @love-the-purple-cat because she's also a fem! Snape stan. She has an amazing au, so go and check her!

(Fine, Iâll do it my damn self: part 6 of my silly lil mlm stories <3)
love triangle â rival! ron weasley x male! reader
solving a love triangle in the only correct (and gay) way
â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘â˘
âHey, Hermione,â you said with a cheeky grin, sitting across from her.
She glanced up. âHey, Y/N..?â
âDâyou wanna go to the Yule Ball with me?â
âOh! Uh, thatâs very sweet of you to offer-â
â-but Iâm sure Hermione would much rather go with someone else,â interrupted the annoyance that was Ron Fucking Weasley.
You glared at him. âBut of course, going to a dance with a platonic date is rather pathetic, wouldnât you agree, Granger?â
Ron opened his mouth to snap back, when Hermione interrupted the both of them. âBoys, boys, youâre both pretty, stop fighting. Iâve already got a date.â
You turn to look at her quizzically, saying at the same time as Ron, âWho?â
âWell, if you must know, Viktor Krum.â
~~~
The Ball crept closer, Hogwartsâ halls alive with excited whispers and laughs. It seemed like everyone had a date except for you. And Ron, you supposed.
(And Ronâs friend, Harry. Although you had sneered in passing to the ginger, âlooks like heâs got eyes for your sister, Weasley,â which had almost led to a fight breaking out in the halls as he hollered for you to âshut your bloody mouth!â)
((Sure enough, within the week, Harry Potter had a date to the Yule BallâGinny Weasley. You took great pleasure at smiling smugly at Ron whenever you saw him.))
Hermioneâs rejection hadnât deterred either of you though. Ron seemed determined to outdo you. When you gave her a tiger lily youâd picked in Herbology, Ron sent a bouquet of flowers to her dorm. When you split a Chocolate Frog with her, Ron took her to Honeydukes. Anytime you saw each other in the halls, you glared daggers sharp enough to make the paintings rattle on the walls uncomfortably. It was all-out war.
Even the teachers seemed to notice, for better or for worse.
âIâm taking your girlfriend to Flourish & Blotts this weekend, Weasley,â you whispered casually under your breath to your elbow partner in Potions.
âI swear to Merlin, L/N, Iâll-â
âMr. Weasley, Mr. L/N, if youâd care to pay attention rather than chatter about your meaningless weekend plans,â Professor Snape drawled, glaring his beady little eyes on you both. âTen points from Gryffindor.â
You stifled a giggle under your breath, accidentally making eye contact with Ron, whose embarrassed expression and red-tinged ears made you just absolutely lose it. You had to clamp one hand over your mouth to prevent any laughter from escaping.
Then, much to your surprise, Ron started chuckling quietly too, cheeks still flushed from the reprimand.
âPay attention,â he drawled under his breath in a mocking imitation of Snape. You snorted, clearing your throat to disguise the noise when the Professor in question whirled around to see who dared disrupt his class.
~~~
After class, you elbowed Ron in the hall. âMan, Snapeâs such a dick, right?â
âTotally. Heâs got it out for me, I swear.â
âI think heâs just got it out for Gryffindors in general. Remember when he antagonized Longbottom so bad that he was his boggart?â
âYeah, that was brutal,â Ron shook his head, as you both walked to your next class together. âHey, look, I just wanted to say like, sorry? Iâve been kind of an ass to you this whole yearâŚâ Ron trailed off.
âNah, itâs fine, man. I havenât been much better. I think we both kind of got caught up in the competition of asking her out,â you shrugged. There was no reason to clarify who her was. âTruce?â
âYeah,â Ron smiled. âIâd like that.â
~~~
So here you were, alone at the Yule Ball, your friends having left you to dance with their dates. You leaned against the wall, watching the couples twirl around with a mild tinge of jealousy. Sipping your drink, you surveyed the crowd, appraising everyone.
When your eyes landed on Hermione, who was being lifted up and spun around by Viktor Krum, your first thought was not one of envy, but rather, she wouldâve looked much better in blue. Your gaze drifted to her date, and lingered on Krum for a moment too long.
Damn, he looks good, you thought to yourself, blinking quickly at the thought. Where did that come from?
Ron sidled up to you, looking rather smug for someone wearing such an ugly outfit. âSheâs having the time of her life, isnât she?â
âHuh? Oh- yeah, yeah, I guess,â you mumbled, your gaze drifting back to Viktor.
How can someone look so hot? That ought to be illegal.
Ronâs eyes narrowed, and he followed your gaze. âMerlin, dude. Are you staring at Krum?â
âWhat? No! S-shut up!â
He snickered, patting your shoulder patronizingly. âSâalright, man. Iâve been watching Diggory all night myself.â
Your eyebrows raised in surprise. âYouâre-â
âYeah,â he cut you off, lips thinning a bit. âThat bother you?â
âNot a hypocrite, Weasley.â
He glanced at you, clearly taken off guard. You kept his gaze for a long moment, finding the way his blush matched his hair to be rather cute.
âCare to dance then, L/N?â
âIf you can keep up, Weasley.â
You two took to the dance floor, twirling around like idiots and laughing loudly. Neither of you noticed your respective friends, and the teacher chaperones, watching on in morbid fascination.
And when you kissed at the end of the song, neither of you noticed Harry scowling as he handed both Ginny and Hermione a galleon each.
Little White Lies
George Weasley x GN!Reader
Summary: George asks you to help him study for potions, but you suspect that he doesn't really need it. (Gender neutral reader).
Word count: 1.3k
A/N: Some fluff with my favourite Weasley twin. I wrote the reader hinting that they are not in gryffindor, but it's not specified anywhere. Let me know if there are any spelling errors, English is not my first language.
It took you 15 minutes into the first study session to realize that George Weasley didnât need help with potions in the slightest.
However, you said nothing.
âWhy is he doing this?â and other million doubts roamed your mind. There was no way he actually needed tutoring, why on earth would he waste his free time asking stupid questions?
No, they werenât stupid, not at all. Thatâs what gave him away. Someone who didnât get the subject would ask simpler questions, or wouldnât have enough information to even ask! Heâd sit there and claim not to understand, then utter the most brilliant question ever. The kind that gets resolved with one simple answer, or that can only be formulated when one actually comprehends.
Even after this sharp demonstration of knowledge, George would look directly into your eyes and lie!
âI donât think I got it, think you could explain that again?â All with a bashful expression and a sheepish grin.
If anyone asked, you would completely deny it, but he got you giggling almost the whole time you were together. Heâd put on an exaggerated grimace every time you would go over any formula, and made a fantastic imitation of Snape that got both of you scolded by Madame Pince for laughing too loud, and disturbing the peace of the library.
There were also your blushing cheeks, which you hoped he didnât notice, whenever heâd get too close to you. You were so transparently awkward, but you couldnât help it! Not with those eyes looking attentively, with him seemingly hanging to your every word, and it didnât help the fact that he spoke so softly, so smoothly.
âWhy! Why is he doing this? It doesnât make any sense! Do you think heâs planning to prank me or something?â Your friends were getting tired of hearing you complain, because nothing they said would get through that stubborn mind of yours.
âWhat if he just likes you?â Theyâd offer, and you would scoff.
âI surely hope not!â Lies, big, tremendous lies. âMaybe I am overthinking this, maybe he does need help with potions, right?â
Then, your friends would just roll their eyes and let you be. It had been almost a week since your study session and you just wouldnât shut up. Mostly because it was almost time for your second library meeting.
When you caught yourself in the mirror, completely engrossed in styling your hair perfectly, you almost gasped. Could it be possible that, just maybe, you had a tiny, minuscule crush on George Weasley?
While still making sure your hair and outfit looked good, you groaned, suddenly remembering that this was not the first time you fancied him.
Back in first year, getting used to Hogwarts was a terrible challenge for every new kid, but especially for muggleborns like you. The moving stairs were particularly tough. Thankfully, you crossed paths with another kid who was happy to help you. While his twin laughed cheerfully, George was quick to come for your aid and stop you from missing our hallway by the constant moving staircase. You had transfiguration together the whole year, and thatâs how long it took you to learn to differentiate the twins physically.
If they were talking with you, you could definitely tell them apart, because Fred didnât beam at you like George did. Still, you had many classes together until you discovered the little mole on his neck, and the slightly crooked nose on his brother that distinguished them.
Thatâs when your little crush began to flourish. Suddenly the twins were incredibly different from each other, and no other boy compared to George, not even his own identical brother. But you were eleven at the time, by the beginning of second year you didnât see each other as much anymore. Inevitably, your tiny infatuation became nothing more than that and stayed in the past. Or so you thought.
You looked at your blushing face one more time in the mirror before you left your room, and directed yourself to the library. Walking purposely slow, little hopeful thoughts formed in your head. And you giggled at the thought that maybe he did fancy you. But you stopped in your tracks, then shook your head, telling yourself that you were getting way too unrealistic for your own good.
There still was a certain awkwardness in the way you spoke and explained things to him, but you were a little more comfortable than the last time. He grinned whenever you chuckled, and youâd joke more freely, which seemed to distract him a little.
While preparing to leave the library, having studied much less than the first session, he observed you quietly for a moment. When you raised your eyebrows at him, George finally spoke.
âDo you remember first year? We used to be together all the time.â He grinned, his cheeks taking a little pink colour which you didnât notice because of the rising heat of your own face.
Before you could answer him, he spoke again.
âYou were incredibly bright even back then, and I wasâŚâ Chuckling a little, you interrupted him.
âAnd you were top of the class on charms, remember? Before you enchanted all of Flitwickâs books to fly out of the window.â While trying to muffle your giggles behind your hands, George complained.
âIn my defence, that was Fredâs idea!â But he couldnât contain his laughter either, and he had the biggest grin on his face. âI had the biggest crush on you too.â
Everything went quiet after his words, and you looked at him with your eyes wide open. After an awkward minute of silence, you mumbled.
âShit, me too.â And you both broke into a fit of giggles again, earning a loud âShh!â from Madame Pince. Continuing your conversation in hushed tones, he muttered:
âWait, no way. And you never said anything!â
âItâs not like you said something either, Weasley!â
âI was just a stupid little kid, what did you expect?â
âGeorge, we are the same age!â
âYeah, yeah. But you are the clever one here, darling.â
Without even stopping to think about what you were going to say, you opened your mouth and pointed at him accusatorily.
âYou donât even need tutoring in potions! You could teach me, in fact!â
Your hand flew to cover your mouth as soon as you were done talking, your cheeks starting to burn, and your gaze averting Georgeâs eyes trying not to expose yourself any more than you had already.
After a prolonged uncomfortable silence, you spoke.
âOr thatâs what it seemed⌠I never actually got to see you in a potions class, but you learn really fast, and also you make the brightest questions. Not to say that itâs bad to ask for help with studying, thatâs not what I mean, of course! But since you are so good with inventing products and also, you have to know a lot of potions for the pranks you pull, too⌠Itâs justâŚâ Without any breath left from your quick rambling, you looked up to him for the first time in a while, to see him with a genuine bashful expression.
Slowly, a charming little smile appeared on his face, and he looked deep into your eyes. He caught you. It was clear in your gaze, in your voice, in the way you twitched your hands nervously. It was now or never, he thought.
âI heard you were helping a girl with potions, and I thought what better excuse to spend some time with my sweet crush, donât you think?â
It took you a moment to process what he had said, then you let out a little humming sound, like in a trance. Shifting your eyes from the table, to the mole on his neck.
âI also wanted to check if you were as good with potions as everybody said, or if you were just bluffing.â
Finally reacting, you feigned offense and hit his arm.
âGet out of here, George Weasley.â
And he beamed, just like he did back in first year.
George Weasley x fem! reader
W.C,= 1k warnings; cute (maybe); hope you like ;) You and George were cuddling on one of the couches in the common room in front of the fireplace, his arms wrapping around your waist as you sat on his lap, and Fred standing imitating the way George talked about you before the two of you started dating. . . "did you see the way she tied her hair up in class today?" Fred imitated, forcing a high-pitched voice and exaggerated acting "wow, she was so perfect I could barely concentrate on what Snape was saying" Fred said, still forcing a watery voice to be funny. you laughed at the exaggerated acting and the voice that Fred did, meanwhile George blushed next to you "stop it Fred" he mumbled a little embarrassed hiding his face in the crook of your neck, you just laughed placing your hands on top of his âdonât worry, I think itâs really cuteâ you say turning your face to look at him, George quickly places his lips on yours earning an âewâ from Fred.
(sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language ;), sorry if it wasn't very good, I'm not used to writing)
Late Night Escape
just a simple fred weasley blurb thats been sitting around for awhile, reader gets called "Ms" once but other than that no pronouns used, 0.7k
Itâs been another restless night. The stress of your O.W.L.s being only days away has kept your mind racing.
So now, instead of being in bed, you sat on the ledge of one of the windows in the third floor corridor.Â
You needed a change of setting, and this was surprisingly more peaceful rather than the common room, where you could hear the snores of knocked out teenage boys from their dorms.
âWhat are you doing roaming the castle this late, Ms.Y/L/N?â A voice came from behind you, it sounded like a poor imitation of Professor Snapes.
You whipped your head around, only to be met with a tall, ginger haired boy slowly walking towards you, both hands behind his back, eyes narrowed and his soft lips pursed together. Giving you his best impression of the school's potions master.
âI should be asking you the same thing, Mr.Weasley.â You quirked.
âBusiness reasons. Itâs classified, only known to me and George.â He made a motion of zipping his lips together, locking them, and then throwing away the invisible key. It earned an amused scoff and eye roll from you.
âSounds serious.â You quipped. âI wonder if it has anything to do with your tricks, I've overheard the two of you planning to pull some new ones soon.âÂ
âI may or may not need to make a stop at Zonko's. Thereâs a possibility I could be running low on Stink Pellets.â He shrugged and looked to the side as he sat on the ledge next to you, only to look back at you with an intrigued look.
âYou never answered my question. Whatâre you doing out of your dorm?âÂ
âI canât sleep.â Your voice is quiet and you avoid his eyes, thereâs a sudden sad demeanor to your tone.
Fredâs face softens in response, he can see your face clearer now, your features being lit by the moonlight pouring through the window.
âWell, would you like to come with me?â He tilted his head down, trying to look into your eyes.
âWhat?â Your eyes shot up to his.
âWould you like to come along with me to Zonkos?â He tapped his fingers along the stone edge you were both sitting on.Â
âWe could stop by Honeydukes first, maybe swipe a few cauldron cakes...â He sang, adding persuasion to his offer. He knew those were your favorite.
You didnât respond. Only sighed, trying to figure out if you were willing enough to take the risk of sneaking out of the castle, especially this late.
"Come on! Breaking the rules for one night is no sin, right?" A mischievous smile lit up on his face.
âThatâs easy for you to say, you break them everyday.â You nudged him with your foot.
âAnd youâre not already breaking a rule right now?â He cocked a brow at you. You sighed in defeat, he was right.
You werenât supposed to wander around the grounds at this time, you shouldnât even be up at this time. You should be in bed. Or at least be in your common room. However, this was better than lying awake or pacing around in the common room.
âFine. But how could we possibly get there?âÂ
âWe just take the secret passage.âÂ
âThereâs a secret passage?âÂ
âAbsolutely there is!â He sat up straight. âAnd I know all seven of them.â He said proudly. âGot them all mapped out up here.â He brought a finger up to point at his head.
You took a minute to think.Â
âWhat if we get caught?â
âWhen have I ever gotten caught?â Fred scoffed, you cheekily smiled at him, knowing you couldnât even count on your hands the amount of times youâve seen him and his brother get dragged off by Flich.Â
âDon't answer that.â He shot up from his spot, standing tall and excited.
âWell, are you going or not? Better make a decision soon.â Fred held out his hand, waiting for you to place yours in his as he looked around, making sure there was no sight of Flich roaming near.
âFine, I guess Iâll come along.â Your voice trailed off as you slowly got off the ledge.
âHurry up then!â He laughed, âWe canât get caught!â Fred shouted, yet his voice was still at the level of a whisper.Â
He tried to sound stern, but the excitement in his voice overtook everything else.
âI canât believe Iâm doing this.â You chuckled and shook your head, happily grabbing onto his hand, letting him drag you along as you both sped towards the one-eyed witch statue. You shushed each other, trying to keep your feet and giggles quiet. You were right. This was much better than lying awake.
tell me what you thought!
