my old roommate once told me she was jealous of hyperfixation.

yesterday i couldn't take a shower. or eat. my legs fell asleep.

often i'm aware i'm hyperfixating, this sense you need to go! and i just sit there, fixating.

adhd means it's all or nothing. if you take a break for a snack, get a glass of water - when you come back, your joy may be ruined. all of a sudden, this hobby, this project - just returning to it feels like scorching your hands. didn't you love this thing 23 seconds ago? what happened?

this strange trade-off. if you can handle being uncomfortable for a little while longer, you might be able to actually finish everything in a single rush. there will be no battling yourself to try-again. you don't have to worry about the effort it takes just to start something.

and you get stuck here, sometimes, on the bad stuff. scraping the grout out for literally no reason. individually cutting your split ends off. where even is your brain in those moments? where even are you, watching yourself pick at your skin in the mirror, obsessively, almost like you're praying.

sometimes i find myself laughing - i don't even like what i'm doing anymore. this thing became expensive, draining. i'm tired and my whole body is sore.

and still, something internal demands - just one hour more.

gotta be honest. i dont know if my brain can process the fact that we'll get a squid game s3 trailer one day.

like i know logically there will be a new season. i'm super looking forward to it and i make theories on what directions it will go. But as someone who didn't see any trailers for s2, and is now super invested and deep diving into every frame of the show so far, the IDEA that we will get a trailer is just... a LOT. like i will go insane. like we will get a trailer with these characters, hints of what directions the season will go, confirming theories and throwing out others, etc. we will get a chance to go through it frame by frame if we want to.... but we still won't have the full season just yet. we'll have to wait for it, while we have even more fuel on the fire. i'm not sure i'll live.

Elden ring + SotE lore rambles part 2 electric boogaloo

If you want, my first post was here, its not necessary to read it to understand but it might also interest you.

Alright, so ive been playing the dlc and thinking a lot about Miquella, Marika, godhood and everything. And in my first post, I speculated that the reason Miquella turns out to be the "bad guy" (big quotation marks bc theres not really an actual "good" here cmon guys its fromsoft were talking about) was because the path to godhood required him to fundamentally change as a person.

We do see how much change is required here, Miquella abandons huge parts of himself, both physical and emotional. But the part that interests me here is St Trina specifically. St Trina is a large part of who Miquella once was, shorn away and made into an entirely new person, cast away in Miquella's post to godhood.

Now that got me thinking, bc doesnt that sound familiar to you ? A young empyrean, casting away part of themselves to become a god, and that part becoming an entirely new person of the opposite gender ? Now where have i heard that before...

Oh hi Radagon, what are you doing here ?

Do you see where i'm going here ? The whole Radagon is Marika thing has been a topic of debate for a while now, and i dont want to toot my own horn here but i might have cracked the code.

I think Marika split Radagon from herself on her own path to godhood just as Miquella did with St Trina.

It works pretty well with every aspect of the lore so far. It explains the how in the Radagon is Marika thing, St Trina is somewhat antagonistic towards Miquella just as Radagon and Marika were somewhat antagonistic towards each other, I dont think either Radagon or St Trina are empyreans despite their other halves being so, etc etc. And we do see that St Trina is a whole ass different person which implies Radagon probably was as well.

Anyways damn, like mother like son amirite ?

It's always so intriguing to watch Foolish from another perspective during lore, because it usually really is just guesswork to his thoughts and motives. Even during the moments he's being entirely honest, he can be hard to pin down.

Watching Foolish there's no question as to how much he knows, or how much he cares. It's always more than you think. You get to watch him choose to play a happy go lucky idiot, and then join in the act in chat. Watching him break down that act today was fun.

First with Fit, his joyful positive attitude starting to crack after looking through Leo's photos. His moment to gather himself before talking, his trailing off and voice cracks when asked if he's okay, only to change the subject immediately.

Then with Bad, talking about their months on the island and just what trust means. Considering how to weed out a federation puppet, going over theories with each other after just having told one another that the best way to find the rat is to give theories out one at a time to find the leak.

I’ll have to watch Fit's perspective of today later, but I know with Bad, the mood change was obvious - and yet somehow, he managed to get away with much more than he let on.

Still, it’s obvious he’s starting to crack, with Leo being gone, with Bad clearly deteriorating - you can’t pretend to be happy and carefree for forever, when the stress is this high.
