The first time I smoked a cigarette I was twelve. I coughed and the smoke made my throat itchy and dry, he told me that was a good thing; it meant i could still quit, so I did. The second time was a year later, when the homeless woman from the supermarket told me she smoked to quench the hunger on her body and I wanted to lose weight. I walked around with an empty stomach and when my guts growled I'd endure it's bitterness and take the packet out of my bag. It's been another whole year since that but still I keep on smoking a couple cigarettes a day. I don't think its addiction that leads me to it but a force of habit, I still try to convince myself that I need it, that I must quench the hunger laying within me but I eat more than enough now. Maybe it was never about food, and the hunger inside me searches for love. Love to receive or someone to love, I just need love.

my brother and I don't say "mcdonalds" when referring to the fast food chain. we've always said "mcnaldo's", then it became "naldo's". now it's simply "nald". and we always refer to it as a single unit. like "do you want a nald?"
