You and Luke started dating while he was at the University of Michigan. Sure, you knew when He went to play for the Devils long-distance would be difficult because of your classes and his practices and games but you wanted to try. So it came as a shock when Luke broke up with you halfway through the summer after his NHL Debut.

“Y/N I really think we need to take a breather,” said Luke while you were both watching the sunset on the beach of the lake house. 

“What?” You asked. It felt like your world came crashing down out of nowhere. You guys had barely been together a year. But you were inseparable at school and during the summers. 

“Yeah, I just need to focus on hockey right now and you have your classes. I just don’t think it’s going to work out,” Luke rambled.

“But I want to make it work. I told you that before you left for New Jersey,” 

“I don’t want to be held back because of some relationship,” Luke said and you stayed quiet. Your heart was shattering and he was stomping all over it.

“Ok, I’ll get all of my stuff and go back home. No point in wasting any time I guess,” You said with blurry eyes.

You packed up your bag and got ready to go. You saw Jack on the way out and gave him a hug goodbye.

“I don’t know what He’s thinking. I’m sure He’ll come around. It'll all work out,” Jack said into your hair even though it felt like he was trying to convince himself instead of you.

“It’s fine Jack, just take care of him for me,” you said and left the house and got in your car without looking back at one of your favorite places in the world.

Luke was miserable for the rest of the summer. He didn’t want to admit it but he was lost without you. He wished he stopped your car as you left. He regretted everything he said. He was just scared you would find someone better than him at school now that he wasn't there.

Luke told himself that once the season started he wouldn’t have time to think about how much he missed you. Boy was he wrong.

He stalked your Instagram in his free time. He was sure he was almost always the first viewer of any story you posted and had to force himself to ignore your profile picture anytime it came up when he opened the app.

You looked like you hadn’t missed a beat once you got back to school. Always posting when you’d go out with friends or when you’d study at your favorite coffee shop.

You both had so many great memories there anytime you’d post your coffee order he could basically hear the espresso machines and the smell of coffee. He'd remember your laughter from when he had gotten foam on his top lip. Or the time you were so nervous for finals and wouldn’t look up from your computer until he got you a refill of your coffee. Your smile was so bright from such a small gesture he knew he had to do anything he could to see it.

Except he did the opposite. His last memory of you was full of tears as he watched your car pull away. He didn’t know what to do. Luke was a mess while you seemed fine. How could he ever convince you to take him back?

You were a mess coming back to school. You missed Luke more than you thought you would. The two of you spent so much time together and when you couldn’t be with each other you would text every chance you’d get.

You missed his goofy smile and curly hair. Luke Hughes was everywhere. The memory of him was in the Library where you would have study dates, He was in your favorite bar where he couldn’t take his eyes off of you all night, He was in your classes where you would sit together and whisper random things back and forth. He was everywhere except where you needed him to be. With you.

Your friends always dragged you out even when all you wanted to do was stay in and watch your favorite TV show and wallow. They always made sure to take good photos so you could post “to make Luke know what he’s missing” they’d always say. 

They basically had a schedule set of when to study with you or get coffee. You didn’t mean to make them watch over you as much as you did, but you couldn’t help how much you needed Luke. 

Finally one night You convinced them that you were too busy with homework to hang out when really you were going to watch the New Jersey Devils season opener. Ethan Edwards saw right through your lies about studying because he knew you liked to finish most of your work at the beginning of the week.

He insisted on watching the game with you and you let him because he was the only one who remotely knew what you were feeling. You both watched pregame, and when the commentators showed Luke all you could notice were his eyebags and how tired he looked. Your heart shattered all over again.

You watched him get his first assist of the season and your heart clenched. If you were still together he would’ve called you after the game and told you all about it. Now you just felt like a spectator while he was all you could think about. Ethan turned to you and noticed how upset you were with tears threatening to spill over. He was tired of seeing his friends destroy themselves.

Jack couldn’t take Luke’s self-pity anymore. All he would do was look at his phone and play hockey. Jack could tell it was affecting Luke more than he was letting on. His eyes were almost always bloodshot and he looked like he was moving through the motions at practice. 

Luke was a shell of his former self and Jack knew he had to do something. He texted Ethan because he knew that besides Luke that’s who you would talk to the most. They both started plotting to get you back together. The Devils had a game against the Red Wings right before Thanksgiving and knew there had to be some way to get you there.

Ethan practically begged on his knees for you to come to the game. He told you he was gifted the tickets and would feel horrible to not go. Everyone else had already left for Thanksgiving, leaving you as his only option.

You weren’t stupid. You knew the game was against the Devils. You had the date marked in your planner as when you would have seen Luke if you were still together. You both looked forward to the game because it was the first time you would’ve seen him play in the NHL and then you would've gone to his parent’s lake house for Thanksgiving the next day. At least that's what was supposed to happen. 

You only agreed to Ethan because you felt bad no one else could go. Ethan promised no funny business, and you could leave the game the second the final buzzer went off. It felt safe and you could see Jack. You missed Luke, but you were also close with Jack. It was something Luke loved about you, how great you got along with his brothers. 

Luke had no idea about the plan Jack and Ethan were brewing. He was especially miserable because he knew if he didn’t mess up the best thing in his life several months ago, you would be at the game cheering him on. He was in hell beating himself over it. All he wanted was to see you in the Jersey he gave you right before his NHL debut. 

Ethan came and picked you up all giddy when he noticed you were wearing a Hughes 43 jersey.

“What? It’s the only Devils gear I have, and I’m sure as hell not going to cheer for them in a Red Wings jersey,” You said without taking a breath.

“I wasn’t even going to say anything.”

You two find your seats and you realize how close to the ice it is. You’re on the Devils side facing the bench a couple rows up from the ice. Luke is definitely going to see you because of your proximity.

“If you had told me how close we were going to be I definitely would’ve worn-” You said before getting cut off.

“Don’t even finish that sentence we’re rooting for my team tonight,” Ethan said talking over the music.

The Devils start coming out for warm up and it doesn’t take Luke more than two seconds to see you. You both lock eyes and don’t look away. He notices you’re in the jersey he gave you, and his heart flutters with hope. He just stands there looking at you until Nico pushes him to tell him has to get ready for the game. You, however, look like a deer in headlights and your heart stops. You hadn’t seen Luke since the summer. Tears start to gather in your eyes and you know you have to leave.

“Ethan I can’t do this. I can’t be here,” You say with tears starting to fall.

“Please you promised me plus he can’t even do anything he’s on the ice,” Ethan says trying to convince you knowing it won’t work.

You start to gather your things when Luke notices. He rushes across the ice and knocks on the glass to get your attention. You instantly regret looking his way, but his eyes look desperate and excited your heart flutters the tiniest bit. 

You read his mouth as he begs you to stay. You just look at him and Ethan debating what to do. You decide to stay and see what happens. Ethan's right he can’t do anything while he’s on the ice, right?

It was a hard loss for the Devils, but the end of the game meant you could finally leave. Ethan was right, Luke didn’t bother you for the rest of the game besides constantly looking at you when he wasn’t on the ice or there was a faceoff right in front of your seats.

As you and Ethan are getting ready to leave you get a text.

You showed Ethan and he looked at you bewildered.

“You never changed his name?”

“I never had the heart,” You say looking back down at the texts. The three bubbles show up and disappear over and over again.

“I think you should go. What's the worst that could happen, right?” Ethan asks. 

“I don’t know he can rip my heart out all over again and tell me off for coming to his game,” You say, swaying on your toes to your heels.

“He won’t do that trust me,” You don’t even have the energy to ask Ethan as your anxiousness bubbles up to your throat.

Luke has to stop himself from running to you when you get to the locker room. He wants to pick you up and spin you around like he used to do after his Michigan games. Instead, he walks up to you and says a simple hi.

“What did you want to talk about?” You whisper nervous about what he has to say.

“Us.” Your breath stops ready for him to tell you off for coming.

“I fucked up ending our relationship,” He says with his eyes turning red.

“Luke, why now? I was ready to fight for us but you dismissed me like I was nothing to you.” 

“Because I was scared,” He admits. “I was scared you’d find someone who’d be able to give you more attention than I could. And that’s what you deserve, but God I can’t be without you. You’re the opposite of nothing, you’re my everything and I’m so lost without you. The last couple of months have been absolute hell.”

“You should’ve talked to me. I would’ve told you there’s no one better for me than you. The last couple of months have wrecked me.” You tell him.

“Please forgive me. Please can we just forget this all happened?” Luke begs you.

You just nod and launch yourself into his arms for a kiss. He deepens it by holding you in by your hair. Your heart flutters and you never want this moment to end.

“Would it be too much to ask you to spend Thanksgiving with us? I just don’t want to spend any more time away from you. But I get it-,” Luke asks nervously before you cut him off.

“No I’d love to come, I miss everybody.”

“Did I miss it? Did our plan work?” Jack comes into the hallway shouting excitedly.

“What plan?” Luke asks Ethan and Jack.

“You didn’t,” You say.

“Oh but we did, who do you think gave me the tickets?” said Ethan mischievously.

“Well I guess your plan did work, good job boys,” you say with a blush on your cheeks.

Luke kisses your cheek and tells Jack you are spending Thanksgiving with the family and you won't be going anywhere anytime soon. You finally feel like you’re back where you belong. While Luke feels the relief of finally having his world back.

Hi,

do you think that c!Tommy threatened Dream with Sprit's remains because he values his discs more than anything else (to the point where he hesitated when he had to choose between two inanimate objects and his best friend) and he assumed that Dream would have the same values or something along those lines?

Cuz like if Tommy would just give up the discs then a lot of stuff would not even need to happen but unlike Dream (who gave up Spirit's leather) Tommy was unable to do that for the longest time.

I mean yes? Kinda. But also attachments and blackmail are very effective on the server and whole reason Tommy traded for Spirit in the first place. Though there is probably an element of parallelism or copying Dream with threatening to burn Spirit. What’s interesting is I think he would have actually given in and not rebelled against the black mail, except he realized it would never stop. Tommy isn’t going to use an attachment like he is, he’d use that blackmail to make Dream his personal slave (it’s not like he hasn’t don’t that before) so Dream likely realized either he can give up now and potentially lose Spirit or somewhere down the line after doing many things be forced by Tommy to do something that goes too far and he gives up Spirit anyways. At which point it’d be the same result either way, one just saving him much more humiliation amongst other things. Additionally, with George recently being griefed and repeatedly tried to be murdered it highlights his weakness. He can have all the armor and skill in the game but he’d still be vulnerable because of his attachments and that’s dangerous. Not just for him but anyone that he could be forced to turn against as well.

In fact, I think Dream understands attachments and what people would be willing to do for them and that’s why he took the discs, knowing that it would work…

Anyways, there is likely the thought in Tommy’s mind that other people would also do just about anything for their attachments and had that expectation going into his blackmailing of Dream. That short of getting him to murder George, Dream is his bitch. So I can imagine his shock at how Dream just suddenly denies it and says he only cares about the discs. Because just barely short on letting Tubbo die he’d do anything including die for his discs.

Now what’s funny or interesting that I just thought about, is obviously by denying he has any attachments he is protecting his attachments from being used against him. But he also says he only cares about the discs which if we consider Tommy the biggest threat to using oh I don’t know Spirit against him, then having the discs aka leverage over Tommy to stop that is really the only way. So in a backwards kinda way he actually is showing just how much he cares by having an obsession with the discs. By saying ‘burn Spirit I don’t care I’m going after you discs.’ He swapped the focus but is actually protecting Spirit more than if he gave in, because with the discs he can get Spirit. Once again highlighting the irony of that speech, because the only one who’s gonna yell passionately about having no attachments is a man with lots of attachments. The kid saying “sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me” is hurt by those words but trying not to be. Someone actually not hurt would just ignore them…. Maybe that makes sense… I’m sleepy so I feel like this is just rambling but, yea I like where your heads at, pretty on the mark I’d say…

the will of the many, major major spoilers 

( a really really stupid ramble i have during my twotm reread that i needed to scream into the void for under the cut lmfao )

One thing i can applaud Vis for is his amazing ability to be so inherently, ridiculously bisexual.  Like we have him describing people like “yeah this one’s a scrawny short guy, and this one’s a really buff dude who i, at first, thought was a grown adult just chilling at the school tables” and then he randomly goes along describes some other people like he got assigned to do poetry on them for school. And the funniest part is he ends up having more chemistry with just about everybody BESIDES his love interest (who may not be his love interest anymore due to complicated events that involve attempted murder).

For men we have Vis mentally describing Indol as handsome in almost every scene he appears in. Through Vis we learn how handsome, charming, brilliant, and amazing Indol is. How thoughtful and how genius and how capable and how he's the smartest and makes smart plans and whatever the fuck. Almost every line is some form of admiration. There is quite literally a line where Vis calls Indol “the closest thing Caten has to a prince”, which is quite the compliment considering Vis is. You know. An actual prince. And then there’s a line that goes like “I know I’m not supposed to, but I can’t help myself from liking him.”

(AND THEN YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT VIS IS A STRAIGHT MAN??? WITH THAT LINE?? Yeah, no. Not possible. It's so funny to read this, because lmfaooo hello???)

And then for women  we have the sheer amount of stuff Vis mentally says for Aequa, ranging from “dark wisps of her hair catch golden rays of sunlight from behind her” when her first meets her to a whole ass paragraph about how brilliant and “fiercely hardworking” and intelligent and radiant about how she truly deserves her top spot in class four and blablabla. and then a whole other line about how she’s smiling radiantly and “practically glowing” when she’s at the festival and sees a bunch of foundation games or something. And then another line about how Vis "genuinely doesn't get why people dislike her, because she's so greaaat and intelligent" (Lmao though I enthusiastically agree, Vis, she's my favourite) and how he finds it "inexplicably annoying" when those said class four students make throwaway jokes about her.

May be a hot take but i’d probably rather ship Vis with either of them than Emissa (even if she gets a really badass villain/well-written arc that I really badly want for her 🤡🤡🤡). Or literally anybody else. Callidus. Eidhin. Indol and Aequa, for gods sake, since apparently Vis can’t get enough of those fuckers.  It’s hilarious though and I love this book. As a bisexual I can confirm that he’s one of us.) 

I know he likes Emissa for a huge chunk of the book, but I find it funny that compared to the sheer amount of chemistry and compliments that Callidus (“he’s so smart and genius and awesome and I trust him sooo much he's great”), Eidhin (“he’s so smart and quick-witted and a marvel of physical specimen (???)”), and Indol who’s basically both a prince and a model in Vis’ eyes, and then Aequa who basically glows in Vis’ vision, and LITERALLY EVERYBODY BESIDES EMISSA gets this treatment, because the lines Vis has for Emissa sound either forced or bland or both. Like, yeah. We know her eyes are green. Thanks for speedrunning your whole scene with her though. Totally not suspicious.

The “Circus Ring” is a large “organization” with factions all around the country, doing activities that are more than morally correct and ruling over cities and counties with an iron fist.

The “ringleader” of this so-called “Circus” is a man that goes by the name of “Caine,” rumored to be a terrifying and strict man…

Although everyone who works under him knows that’s only the side he shows in the most dire of situations. In reality, he’s a big goof who doesn’t seem to take anything seriously, and some of his faction leaders seem to dislike him for that same reason…though he does seem to have everything under control, so nobody outright complains to his face.

After a string of events, Pomni finds herself at a table in a meeting with the Ringleader and his faction leaders. Learning that her family was connected to this “circus,” and that Caine owes her late father a favor, he decided to take her under his wing!

So this AU is *supposed* to be centered around Pomni as the main character, but since the Jax Virus™️ infected my brain, I mostly have stuff about him (and my oc Luna)

Jax — “Hat Rabbit” (idk maybe i’ll change the nickname i’m bad at names)

The youngest of the leaders means being the least mature of them all as well, though this rabbit is not the newest. Jax has been in the business for several years now and has forcefully worked his way up to the top, catching the watchful eye of Caine, who decided the young man was worthy enough to be put in charge of a faction. Leader of the “Violet Rabbits”, Jax wants to one day be the most feared and respected out of all the groups. Overthrow the Ringleader himself? Maybe one day. But, for now, this rabbit wants all eyes on him.

Jax owns several “fronts”, businesses that look normal on the outside, but hide secrets and shady businesses practices deep within. His favorites are “The Lavender Cottontail” bar and “The Rabbit Hole” casino. He does love games, after all…

Recently there’s been a newcomer to the circus. Jax isn’t very happy about this new event, though one wonders if it’s because Caine wants Pomni to look over the late “Kaufmo’s” faction…

Luna — “Patch Bunny”

Luna joined the “Circus Ring” some time before Kaufmo passed away and is the newest family member. Well, she was, until Pomni came around. After being under Caine’s mentorship for some time, he felt she was ready to join one of the factions. Deciding that Jax should start learning how to train new members and that Luna was capable enough, Caine appointed her to work under Jax for the Violet Rabbits.

So far, they haven’t killed each other.

SV ZORINA

Zorina started as a pokemon Scarlet OC (specifically scarlet bc thats the one I played). I have another OC paired with her who I will ignore for this explanation, but basically, she’s the Prototype AI before AI Sada where they experimented to make a fully functioning human out of code. But she was too “human” to be used for the Paradise Protection Protocol, even defied AI Sada to the point she ran away

Long story short — she was attacked and lost all of her memories, found by my other OC (former Sada intern) who repaired her, needed a place to stay, so Hassel and Brassius took her in as their own and hadn’t told her she’s not human

Anyways on to BW2 and XY OC, they’re pretty short in comparison to my SV OC since they’re new but yes

BW2 ZORINA

This Zorina knows she’s AI LMAO. A robot.. she’s basically made to be Colress’ assistant, and worships him like a god (or loves him as a father? But just doesn’t know what she feels yet?) for “giving her life,” and yearns to be human like everyone else. (Post-BW2 she’s still his assistant, but she mellows out a bit and becomes more like SV Zorina, coming to terms with herself)

XY Zorina

I don’t have art of her… she is just a super new concept

Basically, she was created by Team Flare with a bit of help from Professor Sycamore for Lysandre to create the perfect woman — young, elegant, artistic, and beautiful — for the whole perfect world and eternal beauty + youth thing. So among the Zorinas, she’s the most “super human-y” because she was made to be unblemished at all costs, you can’t cut through her hair, all that stuff. He is obsessed with her, to the point that he won’t allow her to go anywhere without him/supervision from a Team Flare scientist.

Her plot throughout the game is that she’s Serena’s/Calem’s rival who is secretly going out and battling the gyms behind Lysandre’s back, and she eventually gets caught. Because Lysandre is a control freak, the whole thing in Lysandre cafe is also an attempt to help set her free.

She was taken under Sycamore’s care post-team flare plot

Extended Ramblings beneath the Cut!

The following ramblings have spoilers for: Character arcs, general lore, behind the scenes stuff. If you would prefer to experience Promiseclan blind, this post is NOT for you.

Firstly, to pull back the curtain a bit, I do plan to play the file Promiseclan lives on in 12 moon intervals. This is for my own sanity’s sake. As having an idea of point A and the rough point B these cats need to be in by moon 12 makes things infinitely easier lmao.

“But what of the choices you promise!” You say.

Well, As mentioned, the save file is moreso of a *guide*.

If you get a cat severely injured//in a relationship/killed/banished never to be seen again I’ll just. Retroactively edit the file.

The wonderful thing about being a human artist is I can look at what the game file says happens vs what I believe would happen because your choices put Shadedstar in the pear wiggler and simply. Draw the latter.

Secondly, the Founder Arc of Promiseclan is very much about individual tragedies and collective hopes and determinations existing in spite of said horrors. Take that as you will.

Preamble over, here are my extended and in-depth personality notes.

Shadedstar is essentially being held together by nine rapidly fraying threads, and those threads all coincidentally share names with her fellow founders. I’ll be completely honest with you, dear readers. She’s only going to get worse. After a certain event happens to her a few moons from now, she begins to go from “I don’t know what I got into but I’m trying to stay strong and moral” to Jimmy Mouthwashing levels of delusional.

It’s very:

“I’m the hero!! Me!!! Look at what I do and give up to save the rest of you!!! Aren’t I such a martyr? Aren’t I such a good leader?”

(She is not only actively making things worse, but she is causing problems that didn’t need to happen to begin with)

Unlike Jimmy Mouthwashing, Shadedstar unfortunately has a very enabling benevolent(?) voice whispering in her ear that she’s doing a great job and everyone should love her. So when someone like Twigstripe goes “You’re delusional. Stop.” She can just turn to her spiritual yes-man and ignore the ugly truth ❤️

As an additional note: For those of you who are on the path to becoming Shadedstar enjoyers, here are my Nuance Notes you can cling to when she inevitably starts REALLY losing it:

- The Fell Star targeted her during a period of raw grief, and actively preys on doubts she has had for a looong while. Said grief is bad enough that first thing after getting loaded into the Promiseclan savefile, I went and manually gave her the lasting grief condition.

- The note in her less-spoilery personality introduction about her not sleeping much wasn’t just some “Haha funny she’s overworked” note. I draw her with perpetual eye bags for a reason. As anyone who’s been sleep deprived can tell you, you don’t exactly think straight when you’re running on low and inconsistent amounts of sleep.

- I will also say there is a HEAVY correlation between number of Founders dead and how off the rails Shaded is being. Will you see that in effect this year? Perhaps.

Anyway!! Onto Brownspot.

(I’m just going to call her Brownie. As weird as the name is out of context, her housefolk named her after the dessert and I think that’s cute.)

Brownie’s kind of a weird one? She and Fallenspeckle are the most mentally stable out of the cats who start the story as adults. Brownie’s issues are less crazy delusions and more a very unwavering “I can fix this” mentality.

Briar’s sick? She can fix this. Her former apprentice is depressed and kinda losing it after [REDACTED] happens? She can fix this. Twigstripe and Shadedstar are at each other’s throats for vague yet clearly serious reasons? She can fix this. She doesn’t know how to ask for help, and she doesn’t understand when she should back down and let things take their course.

To Shadedstar, that kinda made her a no-brainer for the deputy pick because her other options were:

- Guy who is already the doctor of the group

- Guy who is terrified of his own shadow

- Girl who could not care less about responsibility. Fuck it we ball and fuck it we find out!!

As another note:

Brownie and Twig’s dynamic is planned to ultimately be left kinda ambiguous. As Moon 0 indirectly stated, she’s been traveling around with him for a few years at least. I personally think they’re cute as a couple and would work really well together, but Twig has a lot of baggage and Brownie would rather choke on her own feelings than add to it. For now she is his best friend in the whole wide world, and that’s enough for her.

Twigstripe.. Twiggy boy.. Oh god, there’s a lot to talk about with him. Twig also suffers from crippling responsibility complex. He’s 134 moons old as of Moon 1 and is NOT getting any younger. The constant references to him flipping off Shadedstar and wanting to retire are only half a joke, because Twigstripe is TIRED. He never really got over Briar dying in the way she did for reasons. Which I’m not elaborating on now because they WILL be pretty explicitly explored in Moon 8 at the absolute latest.

He does care a lot. Brownie was right about that, those apprentices are his not-biological babies, dammit. (Conifer is both his favorite and least favorite child for. Reasons. One of which the observant reader might already be able to piece together. But we’ll get there.)

Unfortunately he’s really bad at saying he cares. Mostly because everyone he does that to. Dies. So he’ll kinda just unnervingly stare at you until you get the point instead.

Leafshimmer is the oldest of the clan’s actual warriors and is honestly just not having a good time. He’s not party rocking, his mental soundtrack at any given time is Jhariah’s “PRESSURE BOMB 3?!?!?!”. He and Shadedstar both sit on the “Keeping you all alive makes me stressed as fuck” reaction spectrum, but at opposite ends. Shaded is in a crucible, Leaf is just on fire. Save for the training he has to do with Ripplepaw, Brownie tries to keep him assigned to tasks in and around the actual camp to help his nerves. He needs a weighted blanket and some kitty weed and he’d be. More Functional than he is right now at least.

Anxiety aside, he’s actually very clever. He likes working with his paws and doing den maintenance. He also LOVES telling riddles.

(The answer to the one he poses in his personality intro is “Your Heartbeat” by the way.)

I don’t have much else to say on him besides the fact he is ALWAYS beefing with Fallenspeckle. All their relationship events seem to be stuff like “They have an argument over who gets a pretty feather and destroy it” “They disagree on something trivial” “Fallenspeckle thinks Leafshimmer is a fucking moron”. In my humble (correct) opinion, it’s moreso of a one sided beef Fallenspeckle has and Leafshimmer is just like “Waugh. Uh. Okay 👍👍”

Speaking of which. Fallenspeckle!! She is the only cat in Promiseclan who shouldn’t be in the retirement home or middle school. For a long while she was effectively the Young Cat Wrangler™️ because she could keep up with them better than the rest of the group could. Fallen.. kinda copes with all of this with a “I’m here for a good time, not a long time” mentality. She likes games, avoiding responsibility, and not thinking about the horrors ❤️

I label her and Brownie as the most stable because out of everyone, they change the least. She knows what she’s about and honestly? I support her.

Palepaw!! The oldest of the baby gang. He kinda sees himself as the de facto leader, and being Shaded’s apprentice does NOT help this mentality. Depending on how you want to look at it, him wanting to imitate Shadedstar is either very cute! (He looks up to her!) Or very scary! (Noooo little German cat!! Don’t imitate your warlock clan leader!!!) He’s very Fred Scooby Doo to me. Smart, but also a golden retriever of a guy.

I’ll say this much. Coniferpaw gets protagonist rights for a reason. She undergoes a LOOOT of change in this first year. Trauma makes a girlie grow up too fast, I’m afraid. Up until that point, she’s probably the most optimistic of the baby squad. She loves life and her clan. It would be very sad if anything happened to them. ❤️

Vinepaw Is just a sassy little lady who is too smart for her own good, and her mentor enables the hell out of that. She eventually has a very interesting dynamic with a cat I can’t talk about just yet. But know I have plans for her. She’s also one of two Promiseclan founders that can eventually canonically understand/work basic human technology. Now she just needs to figure out how to change batteries 😔

Ripplepaw. Pathetic little man. He is VERY pathetic. Super DUPER pathetic. Having Leafshimmer as a mentor doesn’t help this in the slightest since that guy has a negative backbone himself. Ripple has the worst nest in the den and usually gets stuck with Vinepaw’s chores she doesn’t want to do.

Bluekit was honestly raised more by the Apprentice squad and Fallenspeckle then a Rational Adult and it shows 💀 He’s trying to be a good kid, but it’s a little hard when most of your influences are menaces to polite cat society or going through horrific trauma. I don’t have much to say about him until he gets into his apprentice moons. Which considering what happens. I’ll just let speak for themselves.

I can agree that Veilguard has its issues, there are some things I’m not a big fan of and some choices that as someone who’s played through the entirety of the series multiple times and read the books/comics don’t make a lick of sense to me, but overall it’s a good game imo. I’ve been taking my time and exploring in it but to me it read like if DA2 was given time to be fleshed out properly while still being new. I think because of the lore and previous writing they wrote themselves into a bit of a corner, but that’s was inevitable at some point. If this is supposed to be a soft reboot then maybe that means the next game goes back to having that more open choice RPG feel people are saying it’s missing

Personally, I went in with no expectations because I love this franchise and I know most of my headcanons and thoughts aren’t EA’s world state, which is fine. But I’ve been really enjoying the game. The combat is a bit of a learning game curve compared to what we’ve had before but the heart of the games has always been the story and the interaction you have with your companions but that’s just me. People can be mad and upset and complain about being a “DA purist” or complain that they don’t like the art style but at its core everyone has a different experience and connection to the game and no single DA game looks like another. The styles are all different! And if something doesn’t match with your story for your player character you can literally write fix-it fics and headcanons if you’re really mad about it *cough cough all of us who wanted the Hawke/Varric romance that they scrapped*

At the end of the day, I’d say take everything everyone’s been saying about the game with a (large) grain of salt. Take your time, explore, and enjoy it. It’s a got beautiful scenery, you can pet the cats and Mabari, and the cc for both Rook and the Inquisitor made me tear up because I literally haven’t seen my girl in 3 years and here she is with pretty flowing hair and still (in my mind because I haven’t seen her in game yet) is a rebel with a cause

Sorry for the long rant and rambling also, it’s just neat seeing creators and blogs I follow on here get excited about what is pretty much my favorite game series when in my offline experience is that it’s a very niche series to like. Also love your content for sims btw! I always get excited seeing when you’ve got something new cooking

I don't listen to critics and I ignore people's opinions on stuff I'm genuinely excited about because I want to judge it with my own two eyes. I appreciate other people's perspective but I don't have to agree with them, what fun is that.

I remember when I was about to start playing Mass Effect and was asking friends for input (cause I didn't understand at the time that people could be extremely biased) I was told over and over again that ME3 was the worst game ever and to not even play it, to just get the story online somewhere. Well I ended up playing it despite their opinions and ME3 is my favorite game in the series.

Hello Rein! Hope you're doing well :) I wanted to, first, thank you for adding the ability to have disabilities in-game. It means a lot to me and, I'm sure, to others as well <3. I also wanted to know how we'll see the physical disabilities present themselves throughout the game? My MC, like myself, is HOH. I haven't tested other paths (yet!) but I really like what I've seen so far. I'm so curious to see the effects they'll have on the story/MC!!

Hey there! :D I appreciate this message more than you know- I really wanted to make the representation (if limited) significant in game, so I’m really genuinely glad to know that you find it fitting!

I think I’ve mentioned very briefly in some random tags before that the whole story, in its first phases, was extremely personal to me because it happened alongside me recognizing my own mental disabilities, so there’s a lottt of themes centered around concepts of community, care, and how society treats it. I won’t be able to cover all of the nuanced ground a conversation like that deserves, but I can sure as hell write some fictional dragons talking about it !

I’m hoping to make this clear especially to players who make their MC’s disabled in one way or another! There are currently multiple conversations planned about just this between the MC and the cast, with every character with their own relationship to it. For example, Skye is a lot more comfortable talking with someone with visible disabilities like her about her history, while Puck is still getting used to having such company. (sneak peek below the cut at the bottom👀)

So though for now it’s mostly flavortext, I’m really excited to dive into the heftier stuff in future chapters, where the significance really kicks in. It doesn’t make much sense to me for characters to just ignore this, especially when the story so heavily centers around similar themes, yknow?

-CONSTANT BEACH DATES

dragon doesn’t mind tho he just likes to hang out with macho and macho loves to show him off and teach him how to surf (plus dragon gets to show off his cool dragon leg tattoos which is another headcannon i need to draw)

-they watch reality tv together and dragon loves to hear macho talk about the show and relationships in depth

Smm: “ that big Ed dude where do I start on HIM!”

Dragon: “um tell me his most infamous moment 宝贝”

Smm: *queue 90 day fiancé rant*

-dragon is spoiled rotten by macho, like down right decomposed rotten. dragon even mentions smth he wants and it’s his the next day

Dragon: “OMG THAT IS SO COOL” (probably a dragon figure)

Smm: “OMG YEAH BAE That’s so radical”

-like only Heike and soda know even though it’s really obv if people thought about it (and tbh if you asked macho he would so flex his “radical partner” or if you asked dragon he would gush about how amazing macho is as a boyfriend )

-GYM PARTNERS!!! Dragon helps macho on leg day and vice versa. Each of them are each other's spotter and motivate each other during sets.

Smm: “ PUMP IT BABE!! YOU GOT IT!!”

Dragon: “Focus 宝贝! I know you can do it!”

-dragon will climb on machos back randomly (he needs to be swears)

-Macho does Q and A live streams with dragon JUST off screen and ignores questions about him (he does a lil trolling)

Smm: “Welcome to another TUBULAR stream from SUPER MACHO MAN RAHH!”

“Give yours truly some questions dudes and dudettes”

(And Dragon just be Reading diary of a wimpy kid in the background) (is that a self projection onto dragon? Yes, it was but I’m not wrong)

-They Have a shared Spotify account and a shared playlist and they both connect their headphones and do smth together!

-on there shares Spotify their playlists would be named by macho and have really fun names (eg:)

EPIC RADICAL TUBULAR BEACH VIBES (macho’s personal playlist)

THE BAES TOTALLY SICK PLAYLIST (Dragon’s personal playlist)

AWESOME TOGETHER WITH THE BABE PLAYLIST (self explanatory)

-macho sleeps in bare minimum Pjs and dragon wears a full on dragon onesie

-they cook together but macho had a home chef as a kid so he kinda bad at it so dragon helps a lot and they have fun!

-Dragon LOVES to share his favourite Chinese dishes and macho demolishes it ALL

-play Roblox together (macho always convinces him play the dress up games but they still have fun)

Smm: “UGH who does SHE think she is getting a higher rating then my GNARLY outfit!!!”

Dragon: “ Your outfit is my favourite so it wins in my eyes!”

Smm: “thanks babe let’s beat these bogus outfits!”
