I've been using markers to sketch sometimes, instead of pencils, and I really like the way it looks

What led to this (orufrey comic, cw an uncomfortable/creepy scene)

#witch hat tag #orufrey #er.... i'm too tired to have anything to say..i worked several days on this.#wait.. didn't i say just recently here that i probably wouldn't ever depict 'what if alaira is qifrey's sort-of ex'. What's going on #i don't even remember deciding to draw this..it's all a blur..i'm not sure why i WOULD decide to draw delicate scenes in my head #that i wouldn't really want to share with anyone/discuss so why did i draw it...#some part of me really really wants to draw things that are more and more true to myself...#maybe because of my alienation with most romance/shipping/dynamics the rest of the world depicts.#orufrey really is perfectly suited to me - what i read in the text and what is in my head. well anyway #i am TIRED of drawing poses and angles and..maybe now i will actually take a break from drawing bc of the tediousness of Angles #btw it really is a 'stretch of time' . . . assuming witches graduate age 18-20 #well orufrey are canonically 30-ish. they've only had agott around for presumably about TWO years (?) bc she took the test age 10 #and it feels like oru moving in/unknown atelier acquisition/building (?) .. i guess that could be a year or so before agott at most #(she was the first disciple) so... ????????? What about the other 7 or so years ?!?!?!!?!?! Unemployed Brimhat Hatred era #that time is very nebulous. after qifrey went to the tower i feel like it's been implied he and oru drifted apart a little.#certainly they didn't live together at first... no way. that doesn't feel like how it is based on things oru has said about becoming Eye #idk. I'm tired now. i don't usually think of alaira as necessarily qifrey's ex and this being how things went in that 'sliver of time'.#i usually prefer the idea that they have their first kiss with each other in their 30s cause That's Just The Orufrey Lifestyle #just felt like making a more relatable alternative view of my own Cai Orufrey Canon one time. btw im a big monoshipper and it hurt a bit #let's leave it there. this is surely the most i've worked on a 'single' art - though now i realise just how much longer the fic took :')

the most batshit insane traumatizing thing happened at work today & I won't know if people are dead bc of my inability to talk a man down from a mass murder until the news reports start coming out lollll

edit: it's all good there was nothing about a shootout on the news 🙏

#the rest of my shift after that call was a blur.#i obviously cant go into much detail but i was on the phone w/a man who had just robbed a mcds at gunpoint & was calling to say that hes #awaiting the police in the br & intends to shoot and kill as many as he can when they arrive #i tried talking him down but then he said ''ok ill blow my brains out on ten'' & began counting down.#i literally hung up at two after failing to stop him and started bawling & my coworkers called the cops to let them know they were #heading into a more dangerous situation than they realized #i monitered police scanners & 14 rounds were fired from the mcds location he was at but i have no further info #he mustve started shooting random ppl or cops. if i hadnt deprived him of his audience would he have just killed himself & not others??#like he was counting down while i was on the phone but i couldnt stand hearing the gunshot so i hung up but if i didnt would people still b #alive? then again all those shots couldve been misses or nonfatal wounds #hes probably dead now either way. i guess i was the last person to ever speak to him #idk what to do with all this hence why it is going here

yeah i'm probably the only one who's not a fan of robin's s5 outfit so far

not sure if youve discussed drummer ava but like i think thats so perfect for her fr. get out all the energy. a reason for those fucking arms. also people who are both drummers and singers are so cool and talented fr i just love that and i think she could and would.

i agree with beatrice doing like polyphia level technical guitar its just so her overachieveing and detail oriented vibe

i am ROARING because Ava on drums would be incredible - exactly for getting all the energy out and there's something therapeutic about drums, both the act of just hitting something but also learning how to control and channel that energy, not to mention being able to listen to the empty space in order to keep time and to trust the rest of the band and have them trust her in turn - it's delicious, that is brilliant omg such a need for this now (i think i read a fic with drummer!Ava but honestly we need more. ohno. what have you done what have you done)

i can also see Beatrice going one of those explainer videos - maybe like those Wired "explain in 5 levels of difficulty" and every single one of the guests just falls in love with Beatrice, especially the 5th level who just completely nerds out along with her lololol

#i can see ava as a kid just infinitely entranced with sound in all its forms #making sounds and beats with anything and everything #busking on the street or in a subway station either by herself or with a band #ohno that's a meet-cute waiting to happen isn't it #beatrice coming back from idk maybe a shitty gig that her parents set up for her -not at all the type of music she actually wants to play #and she's feeling restless and frustrated and she hears this beat that expresses everything she's feeling #and finds ava there just in the zone #maybe she has a kit #maybe she has just idk plastic tubs but whatever it is #she's free #and beatrice envies her #longs for that feeling #and then she notices there's a sign on the floor next to ava that says #got an instrument? play with me!#and/or even got a voice? sing with me!#and beatrice has her guitar and she's like #why not. why the hell not #she still asks of course and ava of course says yes #and bea's tentative at first and ava reassures and coaxes her along #and then soon enough they're off to the races - beatrice's hands are a blur and her heart is on fire because this #*this* is what she loves about music and she hears ava laugh alongside her and she can't help but laugh as well #oh man i miss NY now #avatrice #jt answers

In the Pre-Quali show, Will Buxton and James Hinchcliffe discussed the team orders controversy from today's sprint. I agreed with some of what they were saying, but at the same time I felt they were being a bit too harsh in the way the talked about it. Commentators are allowed too be opinionated, of course, but I was curious to see if anyone else was a bit put off by this, or if I'm just being irrational/oversensitive(sry in advance for it being four mins lol)

part 1 of hopefully several of drawing manga panels i like in the anime's style

here's the sketch because i really like it, as well as the referenced panel and a little ramble:

we'll ignore that this panel is technically in the anime. i just wanted to include more of him in it, y'know? the rest will be ones the anime either didnt include or didnt frame in the way the manga did

anyways AAAAAAA drawing in the official style is making my brain REALLY recognize that what im drawing is him so im having a lot of fun and i will continue to be unwell about him :D

#this kind of experimentation was super fun #theres this one panel from this chapter that i find super creepy and cool so im gonna try to draw it #might make a separate post about why i think the anime didnt adapt his character well but idk yet #its just like. little subtleties that the anime didnt include. which in turned dulled his character down a bit imo #also yeah that background if you look closely you'll see how simple looking it really is #just threw in some shapes that kinda resembled the anime's background and blurred the hell out of it #my art #bungou stray dogs #bsd #bsd kajii #motojirou kajii
