[Confession: I am going to be straight-up honest; I hate the Barnatoccio ship. I hate it so much. It's all cute n' stuff BUT OH MY GOD- I can't even find fanart of other bbu characters except BARNABY AND FANTOCCIO. "Oh Barnaby would- *insert fanon shit that is not even close to canon-ish for the character to do* Or "Fantoccio would do-" HELL NO. THEY WOULDN'T. Everytime I see a headcanon for these characters, it's always not even RELATED TO THEIR PERSONALITY or just sexualizes them for audicence/ creator appeal. I don't damn care what people say, Barnaby and Fantoccio are overrated characters to the point that I don't even seen them THAT likeable. And the amount of (Fem oc) x Barnaby just icks me. And really, there is so many people who just fanonizes the hell outta these characters till they're not even that recognizable.

It just pisses me off that just fanonizes Barnaby to be a “UwU sOfT BoY wHo wILl nEveR dO hARm" and Fantoccio to be this FREAKY AH PUPPET. OH. MY. GOD. ACCEPT THE FACT THAT THESE DUDES WOULD EITHER MURDER YOU AND EAT YOUR ORGANS FOR BREAKFAST OR MANIPULATE YOU LIKE A PUPPET AND USE YOU FOR ENTERTAINMENT OR CONTROL. im a die-hard Athos/Aramis truther 🙏 i also adore the whole thing Aramis and Madame de Chevreuse have going on, especially their fucked up little divorce in the last book, it's insane and i'm obsessed with it. I do also think Aramis and d'Artagnan are long overdue for some quality hatesex sesh! and none of these are mutually exclusive, the opposite actually. basically i live for and breathe the entire d'Artagnan/Athos/Aramis/Marie drama. it's everything to me <333

i think. everyone should stop reading my most popular fics that aren't really that good and start reading the ones with 18 kudos that are significantly better

#this is about (just wanna be) somebody i'm proud of #yes i had fun writing it. but it's REALLY NOT THAT GOOD #also i cannot stress this enough: that fic was a fluke #it's NOT a good example of what i write. guys i'm so much better at the angsty character study fics #i promise i actually can get proper characterization. i had to sacrifice some of that for the light-hearted stupid cheesy premise #alas #no one in fandom actually cares about characterization #ngl sometimes i even wonder what the point of writing stuff in-character is if the flat #'characters reduced to a single trait that they may or may not even possess'#fics will ALWAYS end up being more popular than the ones with good characterization #anyway i know why the 18 kudos one is so low. it's the mcd tag. AND it's a gen fic centered around a character no one cares about #i wasn't expecting that one to do well #but it does suck that like. my most popular fics will never actually be my best ones #it's the same with bsd but THAT'S a whole other story #that's the phenomenon of everyone reducing bsd to the skk show and not giving the time of day to fics centered around anyone else #do u guys realize there are SO many other INCREDIBLE characters and dynamics????#like i was doing that bsd fic rec event on twt and almost all of the fics recced were skk #meanwhile i was searching for anything NOT skk bc idk other ships and characters deserve appreciation too??#and i don't even read much skk bc it's so hard to find anything that's. like. i think it’s kind of hysterical that - out of any piece of media that could possibly have a straight relationship that passes the sniff test for me - it’s this one, considering like *gestures to the misogyny*

#very much a product of its time and genre - which is not an excuse but contextualizes why it’s Like That #but they really did something with this particular relationship #honestly probably not fully on purpose but #it really checks a lot of the boxes i look for in straight relationships #i like the woman to have the upper hand at least 90% of the time #bonus points if this is because she has a greater awareness of what is happening in the plot than the man #they have to be willing to do anything for each other (potentially in very unhinged misconceived and toxic ways)#but they must treat each other with tenderness that underlies even their worst arguments #and yeah like… it passes…#the way they treat each other honestly makes me insane like.
