i love ur blog but i can't help but wonder if you ever get tired? that's not a criticism, it's because i once hated some characters as deeply as you with aang and it eventually wore me out and i just forgot about it eventually. what do you do to not get tired?

I don't know. I'm sure I will get tired eventually, but that day has not come. Maybe after my Year of Content, I'll take a break and see if I still enjoy it. But I've held on this long, so who knows? It helps that Aang is actually such a nothing character. I can ignore him and enjoy the rest of the show. I love Zutara more than I hate Aang, so maybe they're why I stick around. That and dissecting Aang is actually pretty fun for me. I feel like lambasting whiney Nice Guys who put on a veneer of empathy and use "therapy language" to discredit the women in their lives is more relevant now than ever.

Also, I've mentioned it before, but Tumblr and Discord are my only outlets for ATLA stuff. I have other social media accounts, but I don't really engage in fandom stuff on them. I also have other interests, but I share a lot of them with my IRL friends, so I go to them to discuss other books, shows and movies, whatever.

I'm well aware of what I'm posting and who supports it and who doesn't. I'm aware that this isn't my target audience anymore. And sure, maybe my friends don't care. The important thing to me is I know that a select few do and I support what I'm doing.

I'm sharing here because this is still my writing blog. I am still sharing teasers and tidbits of what I am writing because I'm proud of where I am heading, even if you aren't.

"I don't know if you're still writing..." click on my profile. I am. I literally wrote a 128k+ fic for that ship last month.

"Would you ever do X?" "Please do Y!" I already did. Click on my name and look at my works.

Archive of our Own is a library. It's an archive. Not social media. It is your responsibility to fight back against the laziness that corporate algorithms have trained into you.

I'm not trying to be mean or condescending or anything like that. I'm just exhausted. It's disheartening and frustrating to repeat myself ad nauseam, because someone couldn't take thirty seconds to do the tiniest bit of work to see if I've written lately, if I've written more for their ship, or scan my works to see if I've written what they're asking for. Please. Please. I'm begging.

I am fine with "the audience" -

downloading my fics

printing my fics

copy/pasting or screenshotting my fics

sharing your saved copy of my fics with anyone else who might want them in the unlikely but never impossible case that my fics are no longer available on ao3

making a book of my fic(s) and running your fingers across the pages while lovingly whispering my precioussss

doing these things with anything I create for fandom, such as meta, headcanons, au nonsense like 'texts from the brodinsons,' etc

I am not fine with "the audience"

doing any of the above with the purpose/intent of plagiarizing my work or passing it off as their own in any capacity

feeding my work into ai for any reason whatsoever

Save the fandom things. Preserve the fandom things. Respect the fandom things.
