So, late October 2010 my older brothers brought home this kitten they’d found on the streets, right? (Literally 3 days before Speak Now’s release-- 12 year old me was unaware, though, because I’m silly and missed the announcement and didn’t discover it’s existence until the following fall but that’s beside the point) And then, in 2014 we lost our house and my neighbor (Now ex-neighbor) took him in as if he was their own. Anyway, so today I found out that one of the neighbors on that block thought that the cat was theirs for some reason and had him put down?? (With only five days until Speak Now (TV)’s release)

my east coast friends, when they came to visit me in california, would always be like oh my god, kas you live like this? when i drove them on our freeways. kas you know there's a better way to create a highway that isn't needlessly dangerous right?? six lanes wildly unsafe merges for three different highways?? I DROVE FROM CALIFORNIA TO IOWA PAYING ZERO DOLLARS AND NOW ILLINOIS, INDIANA, OHIO, AND PENNSYLVANIA WANT ME TO PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE? THAT'S A PUBLIC HIGHWAY. FUCK OFF. i think i paid over $40 in tolls across four states and for WHAT. my tempestuous assignation with the capricious i-80 comes to a catastrophic end. i yearn for the stress of a wyoming lightning storm. like bro what is that $21 even paying for?? the nicer rest stops sorry "service plazas"? what?? i don't WANT a clean bathroom and a dunkins, i want a suspect bathroom in a building that looks like it was made by laura ingalls wilder's dad, a beautiful scenic view, and a trucker looking at me appraisingly from across the median!! i want americana and human connection, i don't want a latte made by a teenager that will make my stomach hurt!! Rewatching Shin Godzilla and remembering how I saw a youtube reveiw that was like "this movie would be like 5 minutes without all these stupid conference scenes! If they got rid off those pointless scenes, it'd be way better!" and it baffles me how someone could go through the entire process of not just watching the film, but recording and posting an entire video about it that references the intentions of the filmmakers and clear research on the lore and details of the film and yet still have such a lack of basic understanding of the film's entire premise. It's a scathing criticism of the Japanese government's response to the triple ecological disaster of 2011. The fact that the government's response is tied up by constant, needless red tape and people more concerned with their standing and doing things the "proper way" than with addressing the situation until it's far too late is literally the entire point of the film.

just now, someone broke into my very next door (our buildings are connected) neighbor's place as they were away on a trip. they noticed over security cam livestream footage and contacted everyone. a bunch of cops with rifles and shotguns then showed up right in front of my bedroom window, broke into their house, and took away this singular unarmed woman who had snuck in and was hiding inside of their trailer in the garage.

the sergeant told my mom not to worry because they took several items (like a fire extinguisher) from my neighbor's place and were going to straight up lie about why she was being brought up to the precinct by saying that she was stealing/using said items so they can detain her for longer.

catholic school workbooks???

I don't know how niche of an experience this is but does anyone else who went to Catholic school remember those workbooks you had per grade that covered different parts of Catholicism (usually with a simplified stain glass cover)? I kind of forgot about them until I was babysitting this kid and had to help him fill his own out (it was specifically for his first reconciliation) and I just had to take a picture of his answer for some of the questions

I tried to explain that the questions/answers are supposed to connect back to his first reconciliation but he pointed out that the prompt says "ANY feelings or questions" which was too relatable for me (the literal thinking) 😭. Of course I can't diagnose him with anything but I have known this kid his whole life and he really does seem to be on the spectrum. I just thought I'd share this on my blog because idk I think it's cute and funny. Anyways remember not to swallow salt water‼️‼️
