💙💬💛 Song-inspired stimboard: I'm a Controversy by Ado (prod. Pinnochio-P); with color-related theming and technology!

I tried my best to make the theming somewhat fit the meaning of the song...or at least how I see it. I hope this is good and that I did this amazing song justice. This is another one of my favorites from Ado, because I love how gritty and chaotic the music sounds. Ado's voice has this very angry-ish quality to it, and Pinnochio-P's instrumental really adds to it.

When I was trying to read up on the meaning of this song, I saw a few things that made me...kinda annoyed, to say the least. It was a review website and a LOT of them were negative in ways that didn't really make sense to me! One of the reviews was just talking garbage about Pinnochio-P, calling his lyrics something along the lines of "surface level, edgy, and repetitive stuff meant for 12 year olds" (indirect quote, BTW), and that comment made me really pissed. Not every song has to have the most indirect, metaphorical lyrics ever! Music is allowed to have ranty and direct-ish lyrics! And even then, I felt like the lyrics did have a good mix of symbolism and direct comments, which is not a bother, I'd say that's actually good! A lot of people on that website just generally did not like how chaotic-sounding this song is. And no hate, you don't need to like this sound, but I LIKE IT AND IT IS NOT BOTHERING ANYONE. Go off and have your opinion, but you don't need to...trash the song because of it?

And...do the people that are belittling this song realise that they are kinda feeding into what this song is talking about? To me, it's a song about not being seen as "perfect" by the general population, being pressured as an artist because of very high expectations, and it all stressing you out because people always expect everything you put out to be exceptional. That's how I feel about it, at least, I might be a little wrong. Not only is that an important thing to talk about because of how relevant it is to the music industry or general arts in the modern world, but as someone who makes things and likes doing artistic hobbies, THAT MEANING RESONATES WITH ME! I always feel like everything I do and everything I publish to the world has to be perfect, or else I'll be hated for it! This writing is SO REAL to at least a GOOD AMOUNT OF ARTISTS OUT THERE, and I LOVE THAT!!!

...sorry for the rant. I just really like this song.

I always think it's funny whenever I post about an issue that directly affects me and someone responds with "you're an idiot that doesn't know what you're talking about" and I have to be like. Hello. Me, at the start of the video, scanning the timeline to see what the sections are about: Oh hey, there's a lot of James Somerton in the second half. I can see a bunch of shots in the preview window of him casually speaking into a mic so they're probably talking over a video call. It's cool that these two video essay creators I watch are collabing like this. Bit odd that James doesn't seem to appear in the first half though.

Me, having now finished the video: I am going to kill James Somerton with my bare hands.

one of the posts on this website that haunts me is the one that claims neurotypicals instinctively know to read faster by reading the first and last paragraphs of an article and then skimming it if confused. I can't even begin to understand how someone would form such a bizarre belief.

Actually going insane over the implications of Jason asking Dick to be the Robin to his Batman in Battle for the Cowl.

Like I initially took it at the purely surface-level of Jason wanting a partner in the general sense. Which made sense, it's a huge responsibility and a lonely one so an assistant/sidekick/partner seems a no-brainer if you can get one.

But then I really thought about it, because Jason is not asking Dick to be his partner in the general sense; he's not even asking Dick to be his Nightwing. He's asking Dick to be his Robin.

And they both know exactly what Jason means: "Be the light to my darkness. Be the smile to my scowl. Be the hope to my fear. "

He's saying "Be 'Robin'; be the embodiment of Love and Justice and Goodness. Be the exceptional person that you have always been. Be the slightly-less exceptional person that I was when I wore your colors. Be the person that I was in the process of becoming and might have been (or might still be), if only Joker hadn't clipped my wings."

He's saying "I am prepared to become vengeance, become the Night. And I will go further than Bruce ever dared to, because it is what is needed. I will be the necessary evil. But you don't have to be. If Batman is Gotham's curse, Robin has always been its blessing. I will be the brutal punishment to our world, and I am asking you to be its incandescent gift."

nope...I have tried to ask people to take them down in the past, but I usually just get ignored. :') so I do appreciate that people are going through and adding credit, at least!

(the worst is when people actually edit out my signature/watermark to get around do-not-post lists...this has happened more often than you'd think 🙃)
