Idk who needs to hear this, but Byler is almost definitely going to have sex next season whether implied or onscreen and it is going to ruffle some feathers and it is going to push some envelopes and it is going to upset some homophobes, and we as a community need to mentally prepare ourselves both to stand tall in the face of the rampant homophobia that will come our way but also to point out the double standard that exists when it comes to how queer love gets to and deserves to be displayed in media as opposed to cishet love.

The homophobes will call it gross, sexualizing, inappropriate etc. but it isn’t! *Grabs a megaphone* Queer sex is not inherently dirtier or more risqué than straight sex, and in a coming-of-age love story that ends with both characters realizing their love for each other and also being older and getting together, a sex scene is appropriate! It’s just as appropriate as St*ncy or Jancy having sex, which, news flash, no one complained about lmao. They won’t complain about the inclusion of straight sex, but they will bitch and moan about “sexualization” when it comes to Byler and we should have none of it! Fight the double standard, Byler deserves to be as steamy as Jancy or Jopper or any straight couple. 🤭🫣
