Always thinking about when time travelling would be possible, or even the technology to be able to transport into fictional worlds, and im jsut- i cnat stop thinking about a present world reader just time travelling to the past- for science and research, and theres just soooo many eras she could go to right?
Be it the egyptian era, where a Pharaoh is infatuated with her. Reader finally solving the mystery of how they made the pyramids, but also having to deal with the eccentricity of the Pharaohs nature.
The victorian era, the king/queen being obsessed with this heretic reader who came to his court, going to any lengths, including murdering his wife and going against th catholic church.
The Ottoman empire, the Sultan is certainly interested in the new addition to his court, and he wants to make u a part of his harem too, whether u want it or not.
What about the leper king? Poor man has a deadly disease, knows he's gonna die soon, hides his physical appearance because he knows how horrific he looks, and then u come along, mayve you accidentally cure his leprosy, and now the man is OBSSESED with you. (PART 1 is here! PART 2 is here!)
And like different eras that just escape my mind rn, but like do u guys get it? Yandere monarch/ruler is so so so infatuated with you, that even after they discover about your time machine, they destroy it to make u unable to leave.
Grabbing your cheeks, he smiles as he forces you to watch your time machine destroyed.
"You wanted to know about my history. And now, I intend to make you a part of it."
Tumblr media
But like I can't decide which monarch/era.
PART 1 is here!
PART 2 is here!

hiiiiii! Thank you for the Tongues and teeth and for every additional ask you wrote after that. Soooo interesting! I would love to see your take on skeptic / opportunist if you don't mind. It might not be romantical, anything you're comfortable with really. Have a good day!
(Thank you! I really like Skeptunist and I was debating for awhile on whether to write something for them, but they also felt like a ship that would be tricky to write for, but I'll try my best for you! Enjoy!)
Skeptic was never one to back down from a mystery, or the challenge of figuring out a complicated question. The journey from the beginning to the conclusion, watching as logic took control and let all the pieces fall into place, was an experience that Skeptic loved every single time.
This extended to his flock as well. There was just something about watching the way his flockmates lived, now that they had their own freedom and forms, that intrigued Skeptic. Why did Cheated get so angry at every little thing he deemed an injustice? Why did Contrarian spend his whole day goofing off and cracking jokes at anyone who would listen?
His fellow birds were an enigma that he wanted to solve as well, as a way of understanding them, and his latest subject was Opportunist.
If Skeptic took a step back to observe all the others with their odd behaviours at once, Oppy was the one that stood out to him.
He was never outwardly malicious or cruel, but everyone at this point knew that he was merely pretending so that he could get the upper hand. But why? They weren't trapped in a cycle of death anymore, so what reason would Oppy have for keeping up appearances? He looked like someone doing a one man play, but there was no audience to watch him.
Except Skeptic. He wanted to understand why Oppy behaved the way he did, because for as tricky and annoying as he was, he was genuinely an intriguing person, in Skeptic's opinion.
Oppy had a habit of just appearing in front of people and talking their ears off, and while most others would bat him away, Skeptic had started hearing him out, and even going so far as to seek him out to spend time together.
Once Skeptic started listening and taking notes on Oppy, he realised that, on the surface, Oppy would go through a cycle of talking about himself and then commenting and complimenting Skeptic on his intelligence.
At first, it sounded like a whole lot of nothing. It just looked like Oppy was still attempting to cosy up to people for his own benefit, and Skeptic was about to write him off as a self serving fool, but then he stopped himself.
Why?
Why did Oppy insist on acting like this, when it's been proven that there's no danger, therefore no need to grab control over others?
Skeptic had a few theories, ones that ranged from a secret intense insecurity, to an obsession with staying ahead of everyone else. Either way, Skeptic was determined to peer behind his mask, to see what it truly hid.
So he started engaging with Oppy more, actually listening and offering his own perspective to topics. It was actually-fun, to talk to someone who thought in a similar way to him, who used logic in different ways.
Skeptic used logic to understand the world around him and all his questions. Oppy used logic to understand the people around them and what their goals were. It was just different enough that it had Skeptic yearning to understand Oppy's mind even more, to the point where Skeptic was actually starting to look forward to spending time with Oppy.
He liked being around Oppy. He liked being around a sharp mind who appreciated the way his brain worked, and who actively enjoyed listening to Skeptic ramble about his many theories-to the point where it made his heart start to beat faster.
The realisation didn't dawn on him until he found him replaying Oppy's words in his head-'I never would've thought of that,Skeptic. You have such a brilliant mind, Skeptic. You're truly as smart as you look, Skeptic.' Just Skeptic, Skeptic, Skeptic.
Oppy kept saying his name in that sugary sweet tone, and Skeptic started to crave the taste of it, and he wouldn't even care if it was poisonous. He liked the way Oppy thought, the way he crafted his words perfectly to the person, the way he was perfectly in control of his image, whereas Skeptic always felt like he was a frenzied mess everyday.
So-he had fallen for the backstabber, and he had somehow come no closer to seeing his true self in all that time. What was meant to be a calm and controlled observation and investigation, had diverted into a mess of feelings that Skeptic hadn't a hope of deciphering, so he went to the only person who could possibly understand-his brother, Smitten.
But what his brother told him in response to his woes was advice, and suffice to say, Smitten's suggestion was worth testing out.
So, one day, he decided to.
"I've got the cards, Skeptic!" Oppy announced, already sitting at the kitchen table and waving a deck of cards in his hand. Skeptic had asked to play a few rounds with Oppy, one of many activities that they found themselves doing together. But as Skeptic walked into the kitchen, he abruptly halted, pretending to look confused, patting down his feathery body, until eventually Oppy asked, "What's wrong?"
Skeptic sighed in frustration, impressed by how well he was doing. He glared at the ground in annoyance and said, "Nothing. I just forgot my notebook, is all." Skeptic always carried a notebook with him in case he suddenly had an epiphany about anything.
He had barely finished speaking before Oppy was up and out of his seat, handing the deck to him as he said, "Let me get it for you, friend. You sit and deal the cards." Skeptic smiled in success as Oppy quickly walked away before he could protest, his need to feel useful to others coming in handy right now.
A few minutes later, Oppy returned, sitting down and sliding the book over to him while also managing to pick up his whole deck in one hand. Oppy's eyes scanned his cards, and Skeptic saw a flash of excitement that he rarely witnessed in Oppy.
Oppy genuinely liked playing these games with people, no matter how much it involved his skills of lying and bluffing.
Skeptic's eyes lingered on Oppy's face, before he shook himself out of it, placing one hand firmly on his notebook. "Thank you, Oppy," he quietly said, Oppy looked over his cards to give him a big smile, and Skeptic found that he liked it, no matter if that was the whole purpose of the mask.
"Don't even worry about it. If I was thinking as deeply as you do on a daily basis, I feel like I'd be allowed to let some little things slip." Although Skeptic wasn't actually one to forget things, the words still reassured him over something he wasn't even aware he worried about.
Oppy placed the first card down, and Skeptic couldn't wait any longer, and made his move.
His hand shot out, not to put a card down, but to place it over Oppy's hand, gripping it gently as he firmly said, "Really, Oppy-you're very kind."
He could feel the way Oppy tensed up underneath him, and when Skeptic looked up at him, he found his smile frozen inbetween confidence and shock, making him just look nervous and terrified now. He could practically see the way his eyes clouded over, his mind probably searching for the correct act to sell him to allow him to stay on top of this.
But Skeptic wanted to push this further, so he gave Oppy's hand a little squeeze, and that was when he saw Oppy let a small gasp out, his face falling into such a soft expression that Skeptic wondered if Oppy had even realised he had let the mask fall.
But it only lasted a few seconds, as Oppy blinked, and a cold calm washed over him. He smiled bitterly, shaking his head as he went, "No,"and tried to pull his hand back, but Skeptic just tightened his hold on him.
Oppy finally looked up at him, but it was with such a wide and intense look that it made Skeptic's feathers bristle. Oppy chuckled emptily, and now Skeptic was just wishing for Oppy to be dramatic or performative, because that would be so much better than the defeated expression he wore.
"No," Oppy repeated, "we're not doing this."
"Doing what?"
"Don't do that!" Oppy snapped, his smile trembling in rage and his voice bordering on a yell. "Did Smitten put you up to this?"
"He didn't exactly put me up to-"
Oppy rolled his eyes with a harsh sigh. "I'm not stupid, Skeptic. I know what you're doing." Oppy's smile turned cruel and sharp as he nodded towards his notebook. "I know you've been studying me and my habits. Read it on the way here," he admitted, but it was as if he was happy to reveal that to Skeptic, to admit to the invasion of privacy.
But Skeptic knew that Oppy would look through his notebook. He hadn't cared, because he had nothing to really hide.
Skeptic kept his voice calm and level, giving Oppy's hand a reassuring squeeze, to which Oppy tried and failed to hide his reaction to, but Skeptic heard the quiet yet sharp intake of breath.
"Oppy, it's true that I was-observing you, but that was because I was trying to figure you out."
Oppy hummed. "I know," he replied bluntly, "although, I'll have to mark one of your theories as incorrect. I am in no way touch-starved-"
"Smitten begs to differ." Oppy tensed up at the mention of the passionate bird, and Skeptic warily watched as Oppy balled his free hand into a fist on the table. The silence was beginning to suffocate Skeptic, so he explained,"Smitten just told me that it seemed as if you really enjoyed touch and being praised-"
"No!" Oppy snapped, shaking his head with a disbelieving and nervous chuckle. Skeptic wasn't sure if Oppy realised he was accidentally squeezing his hand for comfort, but he wasn't about to say anything. "No," he repeated, panic now evident in his eyes, his mask cracking more and more, "no, that would be ridiculous. Me? Be desperate to have someone treat me like a pet? You scheming brothers must have me confused with Broken, because I would never let myself be so weak and pathetic-"
"It's not a bad thing," Skeptic softly insisted, stunning Oppy into silence. Skeptic refused to break eye contact with him as he lifted up their joint hands, showing how tightly Oppy was clutching his hand. Oppy stared as if he couldn't believe what was happening. "It's okay to want people to appreciate you and to make you feel loved. You're not weak for wanting that."
Oppy shook his head, but Skeptic leaned closer and said, "I'm sorry if I made you feel like I wasn't treating you with respect. I genuinely just wanted to figure out how you worked, because then I could learn how to be a better friend to you-I'm not very good with assuming what the right thing to do is."
With every word he spoke, he saw Oppy's anger and mortification slowly dissipate, until he just looked tired, his feathers still puffed up in caution.
"I don't think-" Oppy quietly said, so quiet it could be considered a whisper, "-I don't think I'm very good at-accepting stuff like that. I'm not used to it, and that scares me."
Skeptic chuckled softly. "It scares me too, if I'm honest." Oppy looked up at him in surprise, and Skeptic found that he couldn't look away as he continued, "But I'd be happy to practice it with you."
Skeptic was waiting for the moment that Oppy dismissed him, that he regarded him and Smitten as a threat to his safety now, and distanced himself from them. Skeptic didn't want that, but the longer the silence went on, the more he was sure that was going to be the case.
He was busy trying to ignore his heart crying out in protest, when he felt it- a single squeeze back.
His head shot up to look at Oppy, who's face was flushing deeply as he refused to look anywhere near Skeptic. "I'm willing to test it with you," he mumbled, but it was more than loud enough for Skeptic.
Mask or no mask, Skeptic just wanted Oppy, and he would be sure to give him all the love he deserved.

I don’t see the parallels between Mable and Ford and Dipper and Stan. Can you explain cause i’m really curious now.
ok ok ok so. im not gonna cite any specific sources sorry im too lazy to go back but i promise you ive watched the series too much for it to be healthy
mabel and ford are both very much similar people. they're both very artistically talented, mabel made a lifelike sculpture of stan so you cant deny this one - they also both have very similar personalities, they're extremely blunt when talking to others and outwardly weird and proud of it, they just express it in different ways. i mean how many times has mabel directly called out dipper for doing Stupid Shit in the same way Ford has to Stan ? like at least three times. at least thrice. and theres definitely a parallel between mabel embracing being a weird little girl and making sweaters every day, eating toothpaste and whatever the unicorn creature from DDAMD was - she could choose to act normal, but why in the world would she ever? and ford not having that choice, so he pursues research of the supernatural to try and find a place for himself amongst the strange and unusual. both are also called out on by society for being strange - mabel just stands up to her bullies a little better than ford does. its also important to note that neither of them socialize normally at ALL. its just that mabel is so confident in herself that when she goes up to you and says HI I'M MABEL MY EARRINGS ARE NACHOS WANNA BE FRIENDS? you're like hell yeah!!! they are!!! lets be friends!!! theyre both so trusting too which leads to them being directly screwed over by bill, it isnt their fault at all but he STILL DOES IT. plus they both briefly dated a supernatural fish creature, and had an absolutely TRAINWRECK of a relationship that altered how they'll approach their future ones - mabels was with gideon, and fords was with bill.
and hoooo their twin. stan directly sees some of his younger self in dipper, most notably in dreamscaperers, which is why he tries to toughen the kid up. the two of them also solve a lot of their problems with Punching. as soon as dipper loses access to the journal he starts swinging. bro jumped off a cliff to punch a massive robot in the eye and also swung at a massive triangle god. he was NOT hesitating he just started swinging, exactly what stan does!!! and its for their twin. soooo much of what the both of them do is in pursuit of the goal of keeping their twin safe or getting them to safety. dipper sticks up for mabel against Pacifica exactly how Stan did for his family in Gideon Rises. they're also VERY intelligent + resourceful, and can fly by the seat of their pants with random information, stan rebuilt the portal with about a third of the blueprints and with zero funding, and dipper is shown doing complex math in an instant and using what little info the journal has on various threats to thwart them - part of this is also social intelligence. mabel may be a social butterfly but dipper and stan know who to trust and when and navigate their relationships extremely carefully. theyre also hella good at convincing people to do what they want - dipper redeemed at least two people by just talking to them, the only difference between the skill they have with words is that stan uses his to convince people to keep coming back to the mystery shack so he can make money, and dipper uses his to get people to fight back against injustice. i also dont think i need to tell you how insecure the both of them are in their identities. thats not even getting into the themes of self sacrifice
sorry this was long but tl;dr: a cutiepie wearing sweaters with a book vital to the plot whose eccentricities define them, and a smart&sly guy who has a way with words, with a front meant to hide their insecurities. okay was i talking about mabel and dipper or ford and stan in that order

Floral Fumo Fridays of the Week (Belated) New Years Edition: Perennial Plant Dormancy (Plant shown: Rubus occidentalis)
Oops, I was late again! It seems that the winter has made me more sleepy and dormant than usual. 😉 This was supposed to be a new years post, but tbh ppl are still saying "Happy New Years" to me soooo.
Yuuka rampaged through the mountain to get a better view of Gensokyo and its border. She noticed that during her journey, temperatures felt more spring-like and the snow started to melt quicker than before. But winter was just getting started! She knew she hadn't journeyed that long as the sun rose and set as it would during winter. This was a strange phenomenon: The snow should stay throughout the season, but all throughout Gensokyo temperatures had rose and the snow had all melted. Later on in her journey, the temperatures significantly dropped back to winter temperatures, but there was little snowfall. She thinks that this could be related to the rumored "vampire" causing a rampage within Gensokyo.
Tumblr media
Yuuka once more peered at various locations in Gensokyo, and noticed another strange phenomenon. For one, the village normally played loud music to celebrate the new year around this time. The music used to be so loud it would be heard across Gensokyo, but this year no music could be heard. Instead, she heard music from another source: a red mansion by the lake. Yuuka knew that this mansion was from the Outside World and has played music for quite some time, so maybe the villagers simply relocated their festivals. One last time, she looked at another village located on the borders of Gensokyo. The village had a towering mansion situated at its center, and Yuuka thought that the building could be the home of the hibernating sage.
Yuuka thought about this sage, Yukari Yakumo, whom she met a few months ago. She was the only active Gensokyo sage around after the barrier was formed, as the others seemed to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Yukari said that she was hibernating for the winter and that her "shikigami" would solve the incident, but the incident had no chance of stopping at this rate. Even worse, temperatures are spring-like and snow is melting, so surely this sage would awaken from her dormancy, right? The only way for Yuuka to find out is to go to this village on the borders of Gensokyo that could be her home, so she then descended from the view of Gensokyo at the mountain.
This one isn't about any specific plant, but it's about a phenomenon that happens in many organisms called dormancy. Dormancy in general is a survival technique used by many organisms during harsh conditions such as winter, where temperatures can average to below freezing temperatures and growth comes to a halt. When it comes to flowering fruit trees and tree-like plants, such as plants in the Rosaceae family, it is used to retain water and nutrients as well. We will use tree-like perennial fruit plants, like this Black Raspberry cane (Rubus occidentalis) as examples, as tree and tree-like perennials that flower and fruit are used as models of the dormancy cycle.
Tumblr media
Black Raspberry (Rubus occidentalis) is a plant that is part of the rose (Rosaceae) family just like multifloral rose (rosa multiflora) of a previous post. Rosaceae contains numerous wooded plants and trees in temperate climates that follow a similar dormancy and vernalization pattern, and spring is when we can see a lot of their flowers. The name "Black Raspberry" or "Blackberry" can refer to other species of Rubus with similar colored fruits, so let's ditch these names for now and call it by its formal name Rubus occidentalis. It is native to a wide range of regions in North America, spanning from warmer to colder climates and regions that experience both. The stems of Rubus occidentalis are considered stalks or canes that have a glaucous and powdery sheath. Normally during spring and summer the stalk has a more blue-green look, but when this plant is in a dormant state it looks more haunting with a woody purple-red color. We will talk more about the rest of the features of this plant like the flowers and fruits later on during the spring and/or summer.
When later summer into fall happens, leaves slowly start to turn brown and shed and the stems/bark become discolored. Some plants flower and ripen their fruit at this stage, as we've seen in earlier posts. This phenomenon is called paradormancy, a transitional period between an active growing state and endodormancy that is triggered by various environmental factors outside the plant like shorter days and cooler temperatures. Plants have an internal "clock" to track the passage of winter as they spend time in cold temperatures below room temperature but above freezing (roughly 5-10 degrees celsius) which causes them to eventually stop growing but accumulate chilling and transition to endodormancy later in the fall leading up to winter. We have seen some plants earlier go through this period during the fall with withering leaves and the colors of their stem and bark discoloring until they are completely dormant.
In endodormancy, plants must accumulate a specific amount of chilling units and hours spent in the cold in order to survive the winter and regrow flowers in the spring. Keep in mind, Rubus occidentalis is a perennial plant native to very warm climates, but they are also native to some of the coldest climates, so it can withstand many harsh temperatures below freezing while dormant. At this stage, the ability for the plant to grow is completely halted.
Later on and once it is done accumulating enough chill units, it will enter a period of dormancy called ecodormancy. Some tree and tree-like plants that bloom in late winter and early spring will show buds at this stage or even earlier. At ecodormancy, it is simply waiting for temperatures to get above freezing so it can break free of dormancy. This time, the plant requires heating units rather than chill to become active again. Once it has accumulated enough heating units spending time in temperatures above freezing in spring, perennials will exit the final stage of dormancy and transition to being active and growing again.
Finally, various plants around the world have different methods of dormancy, and there are many things about dormancy that we simply do not know about.
PS: The photos were taken minutes apart and during noon! The first photo was taken earlier than the rest but when i got a photo of the plants themselves clouds immediately blocked the sun so they look more discolored. Here's a rejected photo taken when the clouds covered the sun that I still wanted to post. Also, if you have a garden of Rubus occidentalis or find them in the wild, you can help them grow desirable fruits in the later spring or summer by pruning them around winter.

🍑🍇🍐?
I'm soooo sorry it took me 27 million years to answer😭 Thanks for the ask, friend! 💜💜
🍑 If you could make a connection between your favorite character and another work you care about (whether a crossover/fusion or a wonderfully “pretentious” literary reference) what would it be? How would it work?
I love murder mysteries and crime shows! I'd love to stuff Abbey (and Jed) in an Agatha Christie murder mystery. Just imagine young Abbey and Jed trying to solve a crime, they'd somehow be great at it and also terrible at it. Jed would need stitches at least once lol. I know I talked about it somewhere, but imagine college aged Abbey and Jed (with Millie and Leo, because why not) solving mysteries like the gang from Scooby Doo. Everyone is Velma. And Abbey is sometimes Daphne. Another fun idea would be to put Abbey Bartlet in an episode of NCIS, just imagine how excited she'd be to play with Abby Sciuto's toys. Seriously, if anyone has written a TWW/NCIS crossover, I want to read it!
🍇 Is there a particular scene/episode/book/etc that you want to just write a million fics about, over and over? Which one?
I do enjoy writing Bartlet banter! And I want to write a million fics about those two nerds!
🍐 Is there anything in canon that you absolutely hate and love to fix in fics? A wrong choice made, a fuck-up in characterization, a misunderstanding never cleared up, a conversation never shown onscreen, etc…
The grandkids' ages! Ugh, the grandkids' ages! The girls' ages are also inconsistent and come to think of it, so are Jed and Abbey's... actually, they're more or less consistent through the Sorkin years, but then season 5 gives us "the Bartlets have a combined age of 111" 😭😭 anyway, there are sooooo many important, significant scenes between Abbey & Jed that we didn't get to see in canon, so many misunderstandings they never cleared up and conversations they should've had and I enjoy writing those scenes.
Thanks for the fruity ask, friend! 💜💜

THE CASE OF THE GREATER GATSBY EPISODE 17 MOMENTUM AND EPISODE 18 SMOOTH
What a lucky girl am I. Citizen Jasper Fox one week, then Mel’s Christmas party (narrated by Cliff and Willie of all people!) the next. The Persauds truly are spoiling me. And so many details to mull over!
Full mulling under the cut. It’s long, there are theories, blah blah blah. You know the drill.
So, uh, guys, DID I ACTUALLY GUESS IT?? Is my wild-and-crazy Sheilah/Mel theory from a couple of posts back actually on the money??? We haven’t gotten full confirmation from the story yet, just suspicion from our characters, and since it’s my theory I’m going to refuse to truly believe until there’s no room for doubt. But Fig and Ford have happily jumped aboard the good ship Meilah, and I’m soooo here to see how that plays out.
On the other hand, the other part of that theory, that TD is Fitzgerald’s mysterious midnight murderer, doesn’t hold up as well. Wilhelmina and Cliff vouch for the fact that he was at the party between Fitzy’s exit and 1am. This doesn’t necessarily mean anything—Scott was too drunk to record the exact time of his own murder, and while we can infer that it was before 1am (as he probably started recording the moment he arrived home), we don’t know for sure. But even if TD didn’t head to Fitzgerald’s in the dead of night, we still have to account for his hour-long disappearance earlier in the evening. Sheilah notably mentions that she cannot find her keys at around the same time that TD goes missing. As staff able to take people’s coats, TD was perfectly situated to lift her keys without being noticed. He likely spent that missing hour breaking into Scott’s and Sheilah’s house, right? He could have been trying to acquire a copy of Greater Gatsby for Mel, accomplish something related to his quest to join the Brigade, or even follow some order from Mel related to Sheilah’s and Fitzy’s latest spat. After all, we know from an off-hand comment from Cliff that the pair had recently had a fight dramatic enough to become full-blown Hollywood gossip.
But Fitzgerald’s murder is not the only mystery to solve. Do we think this Horace Beanslot, with his apparent disdain for original stories, has anything to do with the mysterious death threats plaguing adaptions? Think about it: Horace strikes down Mel’s passion project idea, over-ruling her enthusiasm for genuine storytelling and art (who knew?) because adaptions are a financially safer bet. Barely a week later, Wilhelmina receives the first in a series of threatening letters targeting those involved with making said Hollywood adaptions. What if the letters are an intentional plan cooked up by Mel and/or TD to make adaptions toxic to Hollywood, encouraging Beanslot to allow Mel’s original passion projects instead? That would explain why so many of the letters were dropped off around the Grapes set without anyone noticing—it would be easy for TD or hired help to deliver all manner of things without attracting any attention. A quest to destroy Hollywood’s adaption habit could also explain why Mel seems to be almost actively sabotaging The Grapes of Wrath at every turn.
And then, ever so inevitably, there is the Dash of it all. What the flippity-flappity-frick was he doing at that party? Fitzgerald had yet to be murdered, Wilhelmina had yet to receive the first letter… all of the cases Fig and Ford are investigating technically hadn’t started. So was Dash there on a matter unrelated to what he’s working on now? Or is he part of something that began much earlier than we know? I mentioned last time that Dash only really appears when Willie is around, and this pattern held true once again. Maybe Roger hired him to keep an eye on Wilhelmina while he was away in the slammer? Alternatively, is/was Dash somehow working for Penny? I don’t think this is particularly likely, their alleged Christmastime hook-up feels more like a cheeky nod to Joey and Lauren’s real life marriage, but it seemed worth asking.
As for the interviews, I’m afraid they were a little more informative to Ford than they were to me. It appears we are fast approaching the part of most detective stories in which said detective has figured out the case and chosen to keep their loyal audience (me) in the dark. We’ll just have to see if I can catch up before everything is brought to light. I didn’t get much from Mel and TD, and the Farnsworth Farnsworth aside simply feels like a silly audio-drama bit, but Vivian and Barnaby were as fascinating as always. Much like Ford himself, I was particularly interested to hear that the cops had already questioned Barnaby about his tie clip. Assuming Ford or Claudette didn’t slip up, there’s only a couple of ways the cops could have grabbed that info: Sheilah could have tipped them off, or the cops could have placed it there themselves. We know that Vivian and Mo are very deep in cahoots—what if she gave him the tie clip to place at the scene, and Mo was the mysterious trespasser spotted by Citizen Jasper Fox? We’ve known from the beginning that Vivian is intent on placing the blame for Fitzgerald’s murder at Barnaby’s door, whether he’s guilty or not. Perhaps, due to their pre-nup, locking him up is her attempt to get him out of her life without losing access to his wealth. But if she’s working with Mo, why hire Fig and Ford? And what does our least favorite cop get out of this? Is it tit-for-tat for some help stealing the bar from Bixby? Who knows, maybe Vivian’s having an affair with Mo as well.
Also, speaking of tie clips, Vivian gave F. Scott one on the night of his murder. Coincidence?
Other Stray Thoughts: -Why was Leery’s Christmas so sad? Are the Persuad’s just poking fun at country music tropes, or did he really just lose a love? And does that have anything to do with anything? -Well, Barnaby’s middle name is “Ellis,” not “Eugene.” But you can’t win them all. -We know Mel has mob ties through her sister’s high school boyfriend Lucky Luciano. Does this play into any knowledge she has of Luigi? -Our little Ford’s ice-cold heart is slowly but surely melting and it’s a lovely bit of character development. Just in time for real-life Christmas. -I love Cliff and his friendship with Willie. He’s constantly lowering his expectations and she’s constantly limboing right under them nonetheless. -I desperately want to see this tap-dance adaption of The Grapes of Wrath. Like, what do you mean it will feature actual wrathful-looking grapes??
That’s all I have for these episode! Six more to go!

Dodgeball Detective Case Dream (1-2-2024)
I had this cool crazy dream. You can say it was neither good nor bad. It's like watching a cool sitcom of a show. I wasn't able to finish the dream because I woke up but I will try my best to describe as much as I can. Oh and also I had to do a little doodle. It was just that good. Man, I really want to know how it ends soooo badly ughugh 😭😖😱
In the heart of the city, where the neon lights barely pierced the steam-filled air, a detective’s quest took a personal turn. My comrade, my confidante, my best friend, Yasmin, had vanished. The case that I had assigned her, a chilling mystery of disappearing children, had swallowed her whole. Now, it was up to me to find her. I had a crew, a band of loyal allies, but this mission was mine alone. I didn’t want to risk losing anyone else. So, I ventured into the Night City, a place where the aesthetics of Steampunk and Cyberpunk intertwined in a mesmerizing dance. The city was a labyrinth, and I was its lone explorer, searching for clues that would lead me to Yasmin. A local bar, known for its late-night patrons, provided my first lead. Yasmin, it seemed, had been frequenting the place, mingling with a group of strangers cloaked in black. This was a side of Yasmin I hadn’t known, but it gave me a direction to follow. The chase led me to the city’s underbelly, a ghostly realm far removed from the hustle and bustle above. Here, silence reigned supreme, a silence so profound it could chill the soul. I followed the black-clothed strangers through the winding alleys, but they slipped away, disappearing around a corner. Undeterred, I pressed on, navigating the maze-like streets until I stumbled upon a colossal structure. It towered above, reaching the ceiling of the Underground, its wooden pipes belching out steam and oil. A network of glowing wires snaked around the building, pulsating with an energy that seemed to power the entire city. As I pondered the source of this energy, I spotted an employee discarding trash. His uniform was my ticket inside. I scavenged the area, piecing together a makeshift disguise from discarded clothes. Just as I was about to infiltrate the building, familiar voices echoed behind me. My crew had disobeyed my orders and followed me. With a sigh of resignation, I welcomed their help. Together, we approached the imposing iron doors of the building. Finding them sealed, we searched for another way in. A cracked vent on the side of the building provided our entry point. We crawled through the dark, narrow space, the hum of machinery echoing around us. Emerging into a room that resembled an indoor daycare, we knew we were close. We scoured the area but found nothing. The room was eerily quiet, devoid of any signs of life. Before we could try and hide, a mysterious man emerged from behind a booth. He assumed we were part of their secret mission and instructed us to play dodgeball with the kids. With no other option in sight, we complied. The room filled with laughter and shouts as we engaged in a spirited game of dodgeball. During the many rounds of dodgeball with the kids, one of my crewmates nudged me, reminding me of our mission. I had been so engrossed in the game that I had momentarily forgotten our purpose. A wave of realization washed over me. If we act now, we would be at loose ends. We needed to tread carefully. As the last round of dodgeball concluded, a slow clap echoed through the room. The sound sent a chill down my spine. The game of detective had become all too real. The stakes were higher than ever, and the mystery was far from solved. But one thing was certain I wouldn’t rest until I found Yasmin and the missing children. The game of detective had become all too real.

BSD Untold Origins: Anime VS Novel (2)
As I promised, here's the second part, covering the teahouse scene! There's more cut-out moments than changes soooo I tried to highlight the more important and some funny parts..
Season 4 and light novel spoilers!
(Part 1) - (Part 3)
[...] Only after making sure the assassin was unconscious could Fukuzawa finally let out a deep breath. "So that's the hit man?" Fukuzawa turned around toward the voice coming from the other room. "Call an ambulance. And the police," he ordered. "Wouldn't the police be enough? I mean, the secretary's already dead. More importantly, I'm out of a job now, so could you help me out?" Fukuzawa's head was spinning. What was wrong with this kid? What just happened? [...] "Hey don't just leaving me here. What happened to taking me out to eat?" [...] "You-" The young man with cropped hair beamed, radiating innocence and mirth. "The name's Ranpo Edogawa. Don't you forget it!" -Page 84-85
Tumblr media
Fukuzawa felt as if he were watching a nightmare play out before his eyes. [...] There were a few other customers present, and they kept glancing in Fukuzawa and Ranpo's direction. Fukuzawa had to fight against the impulse to go around the shop explaining that this kid just followed him here for some reason. [...] -Page 85
Tumblr media
Not sweet? It's red bean porridge. The stuff is more mochi than red bean. [...] It was hard to watch, but it wasn't as if Ranpo were committing any crimes. He didn't want things to get worse by saying anything, either. Just imagining Ranpo peeling off the bread of the sweet bun and eating only the red bean paste inside made him shudder. [...] -Page 86
About a page long part is explaining what happened after the secretary's dead. Ranpo tried to walk away but Fukuzawa stopped him, and the two explained the events to the police. The evidences were found in the secretary's overcoat, then another paragrapth of Fukuzawa thinking about Ranpo's deduction skills.
[...] "At the workplace, on the side of the street... I used to always stick my nose into stuff that bothered me, but people would just treat me like nuisance or think I'm weird. After a while, I got tired of it. Sigh. Good grief. The adult world makes my skin crawl." Ranpo shook his head and frowned in disgust. "Do you dislike the adult world?" "I hate it. It makes absolutely no sense." [...] Fukuzawa felt the urge to point out that there were also many wonderful things in the world, but he yet again kept it to himself. He didn't feel as if he had the right to tell such fairy tales. "Fukuzawa, you dare betray us?" "Was our outh to the welfare of the nation nothing more than a lie,Fukuzawa? Did your words have no meaning?" Fukuzawa gave up the sword that day, but he could feel its weight against his hip. [...] -Page 89
Tumblr media
A detail I'm actually a little uhh disappointed?? about is not talking of his parents more in anime.
"This city really is a mystery to me." The city - why did he leave his hometown? "What about your parents back home?" "They're dead." A faint hue of sorrow flashed across Ranpo's face.
Tumblr media
"Died in an accident. I don't have any siblings or relatives, either, so I came to Yokohama. My dad told me to go to the Yokohama Police Academy's principal for help if anything ever happened to him." [...] "What was your father's name?" When Ranpo told Fukuzawa, he was slightly taken aback. It was a name even Fukuzawa knew. [...] The man was a legendary detective. The "Headless Officer" case, the "Moonlight Phantom," the "Cow Head Incident" - [...]. His powers of deduction and observation were so extraordinary that people called him the Clairvoyant. [...] There were rumors that he retired and moved to the country-side, but...he passed away? "He probably wasn't amazing enough to be known to the public or anything, though. He could never beat my mom when it came to solving mysteries or reasoning, [...]." [...] Apparently, she wasn't a police officer, detective, or even a criminal psychologist, but just an ordinary housewife. [...] -Page 90-91
Tumblr media
There it was again. Fukuzawa felt as if something was off. "I have absolutely no idea what adults are thinking," the kid said - and something about how that came across seemed vaguely wrong. A naive only child raised by genius parents... This kid was different from the others. There was something about how his brain worked that was... extraordinarily different. [...] Did this kid not realize he was special? [...] Ranpo knew the secretary was the criminal [...], but the reason he didn't speak up was because in his head, he thought the adults in the room all knew that as well. That must be why he kept rambling on about himself rather than the murder. Or perhaps it was because he had simply lived a sheltered life in a bubble with his parents and no one else. [...] -Page 91-92
Tumblr media
"That's it?" he repeated. "Isn't there, like... you know? Something a little more tangible? Don't you get, like... a lump in your throat when you see a wayward fourteen-year-old boy who lost his parents, is jobless, and has nowhere to go?" [...] "I sure do," admitted Fukuzawa. "I still can't believe you ate nine bowls of nothing but soupy red beans." "Oh, this was nothing," Ranpo said boastfully, then almost immediately shook his head. "Wait! That's not what I'm talking about! I'm talking about mutual aid - the spirit of helping one another! You can't take connections like this for granted... Wait. Taken for 'granite'? 'Granted'? Uh..." "Granted," Fukuzawa replied. [...] -Page 93-94
Tumblr media
I'm too soft. Even though I try so hard to avoid getting involved with others, I can't stop myself from doing things like this. I want to be alone, but I can't even kick a troubled boy to the curb. It's true that I do owe him, but... Ranpo quietly accepted the business card. [...] -Page 94
Tumblr media
"Great! Now that that's settled, let's get a move on! First, I'll just get my stu- Wait. First, I'll wash my hands and - Wait, Wait, Wait. Before that, [...]" Ranpo was full of smiles. A thought crossed Fukuzawa's mind: Maybe I ought to just toss him into the ocean.
My absolute favourite part hahah!! The walk to the theatre wasn't without Ranpo being annoying when he's complaining. 'City sucks but countryside worse', 'I want candy', 'I hate walking', 'Are we there yet?', 'I want candy', 'I wanna feed the birds'-
Three times, Fukuzawa told Ranpo to quiet down as he whined for candy. Twice, Ranpo wore down Fukuzawa's patience until he caved. Three times, Fukuzawa convinced Ranpo to keep walking when he complained his legs were tired. Four times, Fukuzawa carried Ranpo on his back. [...] -Page 96
Nevertheless, while he was responding with nods and brief interjections, he had mentally already tossed Ranpo to the curb. He tied up Ranpo, left him on the street corner, and went home... in his head. He removed a manhole cover, tricked Ranpo to fall into it, and splash! After hearing Ranpo fall to his demise, he closed the manhole cover and left... in his head. Fukuzawa quietly came up with fifty ways to get rid of Ranpo and go home, [...]. -Page 97

Look. I have a theory.
I've had this theory for a long time. It's even one of my crack AUs for my precious Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog daydreams.
It's this:
Being able to know the future would be annoying as fuck.
I don't think I could handle it! I think I'd have to turn every fortune I tell into a binary search that answers a yes/no question. You don't get to ask me what happens, only if something specific has happened.
Why?
Because ohhhh my god, watching people struggling on epiphany-based riddles when I already know the answer is SO FRUSTRATING.
I grew up in love with brainteasers. I read every single one I could get my hands on. Did I like solving them? No, they were hard, I just wanted the answer. But that means I have now - as an adult - memorized all of those answers. I made a game out of the game, which is what I'd have to do if I was an oracle: I'll look up your future for you, but I'm gonna try to predict (no magic) what part of your future you're gonna ask me to look up.
That's why I'm always writing these elaborate predictions for any mystery I watch: at the end of the day, I'm not gonna be impressed by the actual answer. I'm gonna be impressed by how early into whatever-it-is I can work out the ending using all the clues and foreshadowing put in place. (That's also why I'm so outrageously disappointed when a show careens away from its clearly established, early logic.)
So there's little me, trying to interrupt people with answers as fast I possibly can:
The poison's in the ice.
It was daytime.
Fold the rope in two before you burn it.
Light the match first.
They were fish.
Leave the wolf with the cabbage and bring the sheep back with you.
He lived in a lighthouse.
On and on. So many memorized. Maybe a third of them that I figured out myself, many of them I can now extrapolate, but I wouldn't trust myself to actually escape out of these death games if I was ever in one.
With that said
CAN YOU PEOPLE MOVE ON FROM THE LIGHTBULB RIDDLE
WHAT IS THE OBSESSION
"HURR HURR EUREKA LIGHTBULBS GET HOT" ENOUGH
IT'S DONE TO DEATH
SOOOO MANY DIFFERENT DEATH GAMES HAVE THIS, AND THEY MAKE WATCHING THE CHARACTERS FIGURE IT OUT SO GRUELING
I hate watching people have epiphanies for something that's dead-simple obvious in hindsight arrgghhhhhh I don't care how hard it would've been for me to figure it out the first time, I know what it is now, move onnnnn
I would be in agony if I had the future memorized and I only got frustrated watching people stumble over something that they're gonna go, "Ohhhhhhh that's clever" over.
The first couple of puzzles in this movie? Thank God they brushed those off as either being too obvious to answer, or just very easy warm-ups (I liked the three boxes riddle though 👀 #memorized). I liked that. Call it what it is, and then move on.
But this is like the third or fourth death game where people bring out the lightbulb riddle and treat it like the most elaborate, complicated, Smart Person struggle and I'm over it 😭 Spit it out, skip to the next one, let's goooo, you're gonna get crushed, I already understand it, move move move move move
On the bright side, once we get past this, we should be back to fresh puzzles again ☺️ Or at least 'good' ones that don't just rely on an epiphany and insist on a long, drawn-out explanation of what that epiphany is. Just say "lightbulb hot, feel it for a minute" and go.
We use LEDs now anyway 😭 Those don't get hot!
New death game movie: Fermat's Room 👀
I don't know what it is about murder-puzzles, but I love murder-puzzles. I guess it's the stakes? Or else there's just some part of me deep down that lives to be like, "HELL YEAH, PUT THOSE NERDS IN A BOX AND SQUISH 'EM 'TIL THEY SPIT OUT MATH."

Hello! Can i ask for a Masterxreader(any master from new who is fine) where they try to corrupt the reader(in like a romantic way) who is the doctor's companion. I'm sorry if this sounds strange, feel free to ignore it. I love your stories anyways
Missing
The Master x Reader
Warnings: Grammatical Errors
Words: 4196
Summary: Doctor and (Y/n) arrived at strange hotel, with dissapearing rooms and aliens. They can't escape unless they solve the mystery.
(A/n): Hello! Thank you, I really appreciate it. This story can be read as any new who Master, but I had particularly Simm!master in my mind when I wrote this, and I chose 13th Doctor. I hope you will like it.
Tumblr media
"Soooo sorry, could you repeat that again?" (Y/n) frowned at the alien whose face strangely resembled the lion.
Lionlike alien let out a roar as you nodded and wrote something in your notes, "Mhm, mhm, sure..."
Then you turned to the Doctor and lifted up your eyebrow, quietly mouthing, "What did he said?"
"He said that the number of rooms was 35 at that day, but today it's just 33, he also said that you have a pretty face," Doctor silently mouthed back.
The lionlike alien was not amused and stared at you both.
"So that means that there are not just folks missing, there are dissapearing with whole rooms! And... What?!"
"Focus on the part where we question the suspects."
You nodded towards the Doctor's direction. You two had to figure out what was up in this strange hotel filled with aliens.
Doctor traveled only with you now, since... Well she didn't explained. You wondered where were her other companions. She mentioned that Yaz and Dan were busy with some human stuff. Maybe Yaz had a birthday? Possible, Doctor mentioned sending her cake.
"But that depends... Every day one room dissapeared..." she was thinking, turning around, looking at various guests.
"Who's the boss?" you quietly asked, "The ummm- Manager?"
Aliens around shrugged, some scratched their head and two Slitheens were just staring at eachother blankly.
You sighed turning to the Doctor, "Listen if we figure this out, we will be next Sherlock Holmes."
"If we survive..." Doctor nodded.
There was no extreme danger, just dissapearing rooms. All you had to do was not stay in the room, and so did the aliens.
That's why they all were now sitting in the hotel restaurant.
"Why can't we just get them out? Close this hotel?" you wondered laying on the something that looked like very expensive sofa.
"Because (Y/n), that's not how we do things here. Besides that we can't get out even with my TARDIS, she's gone."
"I wonder how many rooms, things and aliens dissapeared too," you spoke, sitting up, "This hotel is big. It's possible there were hundreds of rooms!"
"Something keeps pulling ships towards this hotel, and I'm going to find out," Doctor spoke bravely and laid down on your lap, lifting her legs up on the end of the seat. She was deep in thoughts, but you would like to go for a drink.
"Doctor? Could you... Move?" you asked.
"Sure, sorry," she woke up from her thoughts and sat up again with a deep sigh. She was exhausted, very exhausted.
And you were very thirsty.
Thankfuly near was a bar. You walked around the slitheens that were still staring at eachother - it was getting creepy, but Doctor explained that they were only in vegetative state for while. Near them was sitting Squiggle which was a cube of slime looking alien that was kinda cute, but had very grumpy expression. You noticed few sontarans that had to be tied up on chairs for causing a ruckus.
Behind the bar was the lion, drinking something from a glass, "They don't have cups, would you believe that? The manager would really deserve to dissapear with the whole hotel, don't you think?"
Your eyes widened, "You talk?"
"Of course I talk, but talking like this... It seems demeaning..." he spoke.
"Oh," you sat behind the bar. Lion politely poured you something in your glass and gave it to you, "Demeaning, sure..." you muttered quietly.
"Ah yes, it's usual for your kind to be rude," Lion sighed and sipped strange liquid from the glass.
"You were the one who started..." you spoke.
"Meh," he shrugged, took his cane and walked away.
You dared to take a sip from your glass as well, it had strange taste, nothing like drinks from earth.
Turning back to the Doctor, you found out that she wasn't on the sofa anymore. Not surprising.
'You shouldn't wander off,' she says, but yet she does the same.
Uncomfortable feeling hit you right after, because you realized she left you with these aliens that weren't keen to peace keeping in the universe.
The slitheens were now both staring at you and Sontarans were... They weren't there.
Maybe that's why Doctor ran off, to capture them before they would dissapear too.
It was clear that they headed towards the room 33. The next one in order to dissapear.
Possibly...
This hotel was as unpredictable as the flow of the universe - Doctor said.
Only alien that you could talk with right now was the lion, unfriendly, mean and such.
He kept anxiously squeezing the cane, looking on ground. He was in thoughts, like the Doctor, like you were right now. Compared to him, when you looked on slitheens, you couldn't see a piece of mind in their eyes.
Squiggle was now sliding on the red carpet, leaving trails of slime behind him.
This hotel was missing staff, that was the first thing you noticed when you arrived.
Missing staff, mysterious manager that was nowhere to be found, dissapearing hosts.
You stood up and walked upwards the stairs, to the room 33.
Creaking of the stairs, made you look behind on the aliens, who were still minding their own bussines.
The hallways were all the same, some of them missing doors at places where they should be. The numbers weren't going as they were supposed to also. Next to number 7 there was number 24, next one was number 5.
It didn't made any sense. Why was the hotel build this way?
It was like a trap for many.
"Looking for something?" lion was standing behind you, leaning against the wall.
"The Doctor, the manager, the staff, missing aliens..." you spoke, "And you?"
"I lost part of my cane somewhere here," he said and opened the doors 5, peeking in the room, "Interesting, they are unlocked."
"When did you arrived to this hotel?"
"Long time ago..." lion spoke, reminiscing.
"What about your room?"
"Room 33..." he spoke, "I noticed you came with your companion..."
You didn't listened to what he was about to say, your mind was focusing on the room 33.
"-s your room?"
"What? Sorry?"
"What number was your room?" he asked
"Number 1, the last one..." you gulped. The last one in the order of rooms which were about to dissapear.
"I wonder where did those rooms went?" lion looked behind him.
"I wonder where my friend went..."
"I shall go look for the missing part of my cane," he spoke and walked off.
"Wait you can't go alone! It's dangerous," you chased him. He was quick and didn't listened you, heading through the maze of hallways to his room.
"Is the part seriously that important to you! Do you want to throw your life away because of it?" you screamed, catching up to his speed of walk.
"Who said something about throwing my life away?" lion asked, standing near the room 33.
You had thoughts, maybe you should let him unlock the room. Maybe the Doctor was there.
Lion grabbed the handle and opened the doors. They creaked, but his room was still there, nothing strange in it, nothing weird, just a clean room, with some stuff on table.
The lion walked to the table and picked a strange glowing part of the cane.
"I thought you were here..." you muttered for yourself quietly, looking around the room. Doctor was no where to be found.
Then you glanced at the lion who was fixing his cane.
"Why is so important that cane of yours?" you asked, leaning on the close wardrobe.
"Tell me, why do humans use canes?" he answered with another question.
"So they could walk..."
"Here you have the answer."
"But you're not human," you thought.
Lion turned to you with the cane that was now glowing fully.
Doctor would give you better answer, even when it would be too complicated, she would probably warn you about it too.
"Never seen your species before," you spoke. Sure, you saw many lions before, but not the ones that could talk or had canes.
"Unfortunately I have seen yours..." lion muttered.
You rolled your eyes, looking around the room. It should be dangerous... The room should be doing something. But how could a room dissapear.
Maybe because you were in it, it was safe.
It couldn't dissapear with you, because you had room number one. You didn't belonged here, you had still some time before dissapearing with your own room.
That was when the globe top on the cane opened and produced a glowing marble.
"What's that?"
"That my dear, is the room 34..." lion laughed and caught his head, pulling the mask down.
He let out a deep sigh.
"Who are you?" you stepped back, but the doors were suddenly locked.
"The manager of the hotel, but you may call me the Master," he smiled, mischievous was playing in his eyes.
"Why are you doing this?" you frowned, "Why did you let all of them dissapear?"
"I wasn't targeting them, I was waiting for the Doctor," he said, like it was clear what his intentions were, "I had only hundreds attempts, Sontarans, Slitheens, even Zygons stopped by and decided to check in... Such a dissapointment. But then the TARDIS appeared together with Doctor and you. I had a hope, since the last room was still empty, but then you decided to sign the papers to check in and YOUR life was sealed..."
You only chuckled.
"What's so funny to you! Do you have any idea how long this took?!" Master yelled, shaking out of his pocket many glowing marbles that carelessly fell down.
"You were so close," you laughed, "How unlucky you can be?"
Master pointed the cane on your throat, lifting your chin up with it, "But now I have you..."
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
Aproximately five minutes later, you were sitting in the chair, tied up, listening and nodding. On the other side was Master, strolling around the room, thinking of ways to get the Doctor.
He was also talking, explaining who he is.
You had to admit, he was sorta handsome.
A time lord, same as the Doctor, but yet not the same. Certainly more dramatic.
"So, Master? Is it? Why don't you just go live somewhere peacefuly?" you asked.
He turned on his heel and chuckled, "Because Doctor is my enemy."
"I got that when you spoke about the... Something that happened hundreds years ago?"
"Don't say it just like that, oh... I have a plan," he turned towards the wall, with his back to you. You began to slowly untangle the ropes you were tied with.
"What kind of plan?" you asked curious, "I have to find the Doctor and warn her about you."
"No! We need to get out and I'm taking you with me."
You frowned, "Why? You don't need me..."
"You're her's companion, of course I need you," Master realized how it sounded like and added, "For my plan... I will show you the other side of the universe. One that Doctor doesn't want you to see."
"What about your companion? Maybe Doctor already captured them," you asked, looking on the cane that was on the table. If you were fast enough, maybe you could snatch it. There was surely a way to return all the aliens back towards with their rooms.
Master just gulped and stayed quiet. He was silent for a while, then turned back, "What about you human? Where is your Doctor now? She left you here all alone," Master smirked, but his eyes were looking down on the whole universe.
"She did it to you too, didn't she? Left when you needed her the most? Left even when she promised to stay?" you raised your eyebrows. You knew Doctor very well. They lived too fast, with regrets, but too fast.
"What you know about it..." Master spoke.
You didn't wanted but your instincts took over, you quickly stood up and jumped towards the cane.
Master turned to you with expression of betrayal, "What are you doing?"
"Taking you the weapon!" you held it behind your back.
"You are supposed to aim it at me human, just for your information it is the newest version of my TCE, I build it myself" he continued forward, looking directly in your eyes, speaking almost with pride.
"No!" you refused. Doctor had always his own way that was talking, not using weapons. And you liked it, since it usualy worked.
Only now you noticed Master's eyes, deep and old like universe itself.
You found yourself aiming at his chest.
"No! Stop making me do that!" you yelled and threw the cane away, pushing him towards the wall.
Master was taking a back, raising his eyebrows, "I don't care that the Doctor is not here. I don't care that she left. But I will finish this no matter what," you said pinning him, "and you will go to jail where you belong."
Master chuckled, he was so amused. Again you felt his eyes pulling you closer.
"Stop doing that with your eyes," you said, looking at his lips.
Master would blush if you stayed longer. You pushed yourself away from him and collected the cane, aiming at the doors.
You found a button and pushed it, nothing happened, "Unlock the doors, come on!" you ordered to Master.
"You will have to shoot me first," he smiled, "It's too late human, bombs are activated. Only I know the real way out."
You turned around and pushed him to the wall again.
"Human..."
"My name is (Y/n)," you spoke and searched a key in his suit pocket. The disguise looked extremely expensive, even felt that way.
"You won't find it, there's a lots of stuff in my pockets," Master chuckled.
The pockets were bigger on the inside of course... Time lords...
You managed to touch something that felt cold in your hand, "Ah, have it."
Master worried expression began to grew, as you were pulling out something.
Quietly you looked at the thing in your hand.
"Handcuffs, oh my," Master chuckled.
"Not what I expected but fitting enough," you suddenly turned him around and handcuffed him.
"Oi!" he yelled, "Careful..."
"You are arrested," you smiled, typing in a code, confirming it with your fingerprint and began to search his pockets, turning them out.
"Wait, no!" you noticed a desperate tone in Master's voice as many objects fell on ground.
You knelt down to them, and began to search for the key.
"I don't have any interest of your other things, I'm just looking for the key," you spoke, but then you noticed small books, "What is this? Pocket edition?" you smiled.
Master quickly threw himself on the things.
"Get off..." you spoke awkwardly.
"You have no right to be this rude! That's my privacy!" Master insisted on laying on his things.
You looked at the diary you found.
"It's about weapons..." Master spoke quietly.
"That doesn't matter, I just want the key," you rolled your eyes and pushed him off his things. He protested, kicked and yelled, but you managed to pull him on the near seat.
In the pile of things, you found maps, Gallifreyan writing, spare circuits from the TARDIS, more books and finaly, the golden key that said room 33.
"Found it," you turned to Master who was quieter than usual, "Now I will find the Doctor."
"She will kill me, you know that."
You stopped unlocking the doors, "I don't think she would..."
"It's always like that... Almost. It's either me or the Doctor," Master spoke.
You took Master's arms and lead him towards the unlocked doors.
"What about the bomb, doesn't it bother you?"
"No," you lead him through the hallways, "we will find the Doctor and we will send you to prison, you don't have to be worried about dying here."
Master gave you a sheepish look, "But you should be love."
"Carefully stairs," you said, carelessly pulling him forward. He almost tripped and frowned at you.
"You don't even know your beloved Doctor so well."
"She doesn't know me too, so we're even," you told. That sentence only boosted Master's interest in you.
"What secrets do you hide from her?"
"If you will be so curious, you'll be old soon."
"I'm old enough love," Master rolled his eyes.
"Of course you are..."
"So the secrets..." Master tried one more time as you both walked towards the room 1, "She should know about those."
"I don't want to tell her!" you yelled at him.
Master smiled and looked deep into your eyes, "Tell me human, everything."
"I'm not from the universe or time line she thinks I am," you spoke suddenly, under pressure of Master's hypnotism.
Quickly covering your mouth, Master let out amused chuckle, covering his mouth as well.
"That's not something worth keeping a secret, unless you did something horrible."
You two were right in front of the room 1.
"But I'm more then willing to tell her, she might do some background checks on you. And after that we might share a prison cell."
"Don't you dare," you gave him a glare.
"I believe she found out already..." Master spoke and turned around.
Doctor was standing in the middle of the hallway, she was sending you a betrayed look.
You only shaked your head and opened the doors with number 1, pushing the Master inside.
"At least get these off me," Master said offended. You glanced on the handcuffs frowning, "No, you knew she was walking behind us."
"Believe me, she was suspicious of you long time ago, maybe that's why she wondered off and left you in the room filled with dangerous aliens."
You closed the doors behind you and locked them from the inside.
"Are you afraid of her?" Master asked. It was only a simple question, but yes, you were afraid every time you stepped in her TARDIS.
"No," yet you simply lied.
Doctor was already knocking at the doors with all her power, calling your name.
"Wooden locks, she won't get in," Master commented and leaned on the closest sofa.
"(Y/n)! Let me in! You don't know who is he," you heared her yelling.
"You don't know who is she!" Master yelled back, "Am I right?" he said quietly looking st you.
"(Y/n), please just open the doors!" Doctor tried and tried again.
You wanted to let her in, but Master stopped you, "Don't open the doors (Y/n), get me out of here and you will be safe."
"But how?" you turned to Master. Somewhere deep inside you knew that Doctor wouldn't forgive you, even when she said she would. You saw Doctor lying for a greater good so many times, why would it be any different now?
"I said there are bombs here, already ticking," Master propped himself up, "There are also secret passages only I know about. So are you with me?"
"I have to think about it..." you shaked your head.
Doctor's yelling was more intense then ever.
"I'm quite of surprised you never heared about me, but I did heared about you," Master smiled.
"Shut up, you're my hostage," you grabbed the hem of his suit and pulled him up.
"And I'm deeply honored," he said sincerely.
You let him go, dropping him on the sofa again.
"You won't get a life sentence if you will go with me, and you will have more bonuses. I have to admit, I'm quite of huge fan of yours."
"(Y/n)!"
You were sure that Doctor was ready to kick those doors out.
"Oh are you sure you want a companion that destroyed her own universe Doctor?" Master yelled.
"Just got you a lifetime in the prison next to me, love," he turned to you, "Now there's no time for thinking."
Doctor was still trying to get inside, but she stopped shouting your name.
You acted on the instincts again, getting Master out of the handcuffs, typing a code in them.
"I understood who you were when you typed that code, you chose a year 3958. Day when everything stopped existing out there," Master spoke, "You're last of them, last human, in fact, you are everything that was left from that universe, how does it feel?"
"It was a mistake," you gulped and let the handcuffs fall on ground.
Master fixed his tie, pulling your hand towards the other room,"But what a mistake... I admire your work, I really do."
"Where are we going?" you asked him.
He didn't answered, climbing up in the chair, tinkering with the chandelier, "Every room has a safety mechanism, in case I got stuck here."
You carefully observed as he pressed something, and you both, even the chair teleported away.
Master now climbed down and walked to the console.
"What about the Doctor?"
"I'll get her next time," Master spoke, "I believe she's already gone, together with the aliens. Took them in the TARDIS, flied away."
"But her TARDIS was gone," you dropped yourself on the stairs.
"I already said she was suspicious of you."
"Time lord victorious," you whispered.
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
Some time later, you stood up and walked to the console, looking at Master piloting the TARDIS. It was slightly different from the Doctor.
"Where do you want to go (Y/n)? We have things to destroy, worlds to take over..."
"Master?" you said quietly. This was begining of a certain alliance between you and him, but you didn't needed that. What you did wasn't intentional...
"What?" he glanced at you.
You took both of his hands and put on him the handcuffs again.
You and Master both appeared in the space with six white walls surrounding you.
"Now we will both get a death sentence, congrats love," Master spoke.
"No, death sentence is not a thing here, and they won't arrest me," you shaked your head one more time, "I'm sorry, but I'm not like you," you pressed your lips to his and smiled.
"Who even are you?" Master frowned.
You chuckled, "(Y/n)."
It left him baffled, and confused.
Aliens made their way into the room through the doors that appeared on one side of the wall, took Master and pulled him away as he was protesting and trying to break away.
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
Meanwhile, Doctor was searching your real identity. How come she never noticed? She never asked for your surname, since you were always introducing by your first name. But now she knew.
"Oh (Y/n)..." she sighed, as she read the materials TARDIS gave her about you.
'Accidentaly destroyed the universe during scientific research.'
It was just an accident, a bad day...
Doctor leaned on the console, looking at the numbers, she had to move on once again.
Now Doctor was standing in the doorway, holding a gift for Yaz. She didn't wanted to be in a way of her, celebrating the event, but when she and Dan pulled her into celebratory circle, she had no choice, but to enjoy the rest of the day.
¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦
Two days later, Moon of Epir-4, year 00739d
You walked into the room with table, two chairs and Master.
"On your little visit again (Y/n)?" he lifted his eyes from the desk.
"Oh, no, no, I did the things I needed to do, used your TARDIS... My universe is back, I did it."
Master tilted his head, "Where's my TARDIS?"
"Safe, I fixed it after landing, it took me years," you crossed your arms.
Master was unamused, "Are you done?"
"Are they treating you well here?" you leaned closer to him.
"It's a prison..." Master frowned.
"The most luxurious one in the universe, come on! You're like on the vacation here, and you're a special guest," you rolled your eyes.
"And you work here, I could have thought so. Criminal..."
"Not anymore..."
"You think that," Master said quietly.
"I don't just work here... I'm in charge of this place."
Master raised his eyebrows, chuckling, "How did you even... You're human."
"I had your TARDIS genius," you fixed your tie and stood up from the chair, "I was thinking about your proposition to travel with you."
Master tilted his head, "I'm listening."
"I'm not asking you to be like the Doctor, but when we were in that hotel place of yours, you really showed me a different side of the universe."
"Am I hearing right? You betrayed me, closed me in your prison, stole my TARDIS, and now you want me to travel with you? Why? You saved your universe."
"Let me guess, humans in your universe hated you for destroying it once you reverted the process and brought everything back, so you had to escape, because they took you for a threat?"
"Not just humans," you forced a smirk on your face and stood up, "So... Want to go wreck this universe too?"
Master stood up from his chair and returned you the smirk.

107
AMY ADAMS??!!???!!?! what is going AWN
I have to admit I do see the appeal of clark/chloe and if I was watching this in 2001 I def would have shipped them
I can’t believe clark, lana, chloe and crew are genuinely supposed to be 14/15 right now and lex is like 20 asgjgkkf
clark making a drive in movie for lana at the kent farm for her bday— I’m not crying you are !!!

chloe using adam brody to make clark jealous… she’s living my dream
CLARK ADMITTING HE WAS JEALOUS 🆘🆘🆘🆘
THE PRINCIPAL HIT ADAM BRODY???????

the oc showrunners probably saw adam brody with chloe and said ‘get a blonde with short spiky hair for him STAT’ and brought anna in
clark grabbing chloe’s hand !!!!!!!!!! I’M GONNA SPIRAL
120
damn they really loved making chloe a damsel in distress huh
chloe was clark’s first kiss 😭😭😭
ok so someone was def trying to lure clark out huh
I liked lex’s line about the stars’ light reaching them now even though they died a thousand years ago / the past always having an effect on the present
the way clark says “hey 😐 … HEY 🥰😊” every time he sees chloe
not this john mayer song during this clark/chloe scene——— they were made for me I fear
121
clark’s truck blowing up ahdhshshsh my jaw DROPPED
I’ll say it… clark and chloe are steroline coded

REMY ZERO PERFORMING AT THE DANCE !!!! and he looks just like lex lmfao
oh the drama!!! they simply don’t do season finales like this anymore
lex not saving his father… that shit was scury
+ misc tweets of mine throughout the season:
I hope the music supervisor of smallville s1 has a cold pillow every night and they have everything they ever wanted in life
really struggling with the fact that I ship lex/lana so much already and it’s only s1 and he’s supposed to be 20 while she’s 15???? this is horrible. like how have smallville fans coped with this over the years? I can suspend disbelief to a certain point but damn. this show is the worst case of casting 20+ year olds to play high schoolers I’ve ever seen no doubt
smallville 1x07 just ended with hero by enrique iglesias and then 1x08 opened with pacific coast party by smash mouth… yeah this show officially has the best soundtrack of all time
I’m only on ep 3 of smallville but clark/lana/lex is feeling very much like stefan/elena/damon
no one told me the smallville soundtrack was gonna slap this hard

Hello Mojo, hope you're doing well and that you had a good break! I wanted to signal boost the MDZS May Diaspora event collection on AO3, and point out my favorite fic from there: 归心似箭 | Longing to Go Home by dragongirlG! It's both tender and bittersweet and it features such mature writing. The author got some hate for it when it initially got posted so I wanted to counter that and give it some love instead! [Who would do such a thing?!  @dragongirlg-fics I’m sorry that happened to you, and here, have *so many hugs!* I’ll try to do a thing just for the diaspora event, but meanwhile, I’ll just treat this as a follower rec.]
归心似箭 | Longing to Go Home
by dragongirlG (M, 8k, wangxian)
Summary:  The destruction of the Yin Tiger Seal does not kill Wei Wuxian; it ages him instead. He takes shelter in a cave expecting to die, but instead he lives, slowly learning to embrace life with each new day.
Thirteen years later, a young man with a Lan forehead ribbon stumbles into the cave. His name is Lan Sizhui.
~*~
Hi Momjo!!! I recently read the most *adorable* fic, and I loved it so much that it dragged me out of seclusion (read: social anxiety cave) to rec it. It's called 'Covered in Bees' by ScarlettStorm in which the Cloud Recesses is an apiary, and Wei Wuxian has suddenly found himself host to a swarm of bees. ~ @akyra-talanoa
Covered in Bees
by ScarlettStorm (T, 8k, wangxian)
Summary: “Cloud Reccesses Apiary,” says a toneless, deep masculine voice, with zero question in it. Wei Ying doesn’t care, because whoever possesses that voice is probably going to come save him from bees like a fucking hero while wearing like, a suit of armor. That’s what you wear to catch bees, right?
“I have like, so many bees outside my front door right now,” he says, mouth running out ahead of him before he can even begin to think about reining it in. “It’s like a sandstorm of bees out there. There are so many bees. I got out of my car and there were just bees and I don’t want these bees. Do you want these bees? Please tell me you will come get these bees. I can’t leave my house and I have enough food for maybe a week but then I’m gonna have to learn how to cook dry beans and no one wants that, especially not me.” Wei Ying runs out of air, takes a breath, and belatedly adds, “My name is Wei Ying. Hi.”
Or: The beekeeping AU that no one asked for.

Hi, you are a bless to this fandom. Your blog feels like a library, so thoroughly arranged and always within hand reach. [Thank you, wow!]  Recently, I was going through Wèi Yīng | Wèi Wúxiàn is a Wēn tag and came across a fanfic, it has 3 chapters till now and is so intriguing that i thought to recommend it to you. I don't know if I can recommend or if you have already checked the story, The legendary Phoenix and his Dragon by Devipriya. I am in love with this story. I hope you will enjoy it too, do check it out
The legendary Phoenix and his Dragon
by Devipriya (T, 7k, wangxian)
Summary:  Wen Wuxian, the essence of who he is, he is a naughty child, a prankster, an enchanting dizi player, a graceful dancer, an irresistible lover, a truly valiant warrior, a ruthless vanquisher of his foes, a man who left a broken heart in every home, an astute statesman and kingmaker, a thorough gentleman, a righteous individual of the highest order, and the most colorful incarnation.
He has been seen, perceived, understood and experienced in many different ways by different people. Different people saw different facets of who he is. For some, he is God. For some, he is a crook. For some, he is a lover. For some, he is a fighter. He is so many things.
But the phoenix, seen from the eyes of time was just a playful man. A man who plays with his awareness, with his imagination, with his memory, with his life, with his death. An individual who does not just dance with somebody. He dances with life. He dances with his enemy, He dances with the one he loves, He dances even at the moment of his death.
To taste an essence of who is Wen Wuxian, be with me in the journey of exploration, NO! playful exploration of life of a playful man.

Hi! Thanks for running this blog, it's helped me find so many fics. For your next follower recs post, I wanted to rec "This love like a flood, a fire, a fear" by natcat5. Its summary is vague (which I suspect is why it isn't better known) but it is a beautiful retelling of canon from LWJ's POV with slight canon divergence. I love the author's characterization of him and the prose is gorgeous. It is easily my favorite fic in the entire fandom, and I don't say that lightly. ~ @nyanja14
This love like a flood, a fire, a fear
by natcat5 (M, 57k, wangxian, lan wangji & lan xichen)
Summary:  “I will love you as misfortune loves orphans, as fire loves innocence, and as justice loves to sit and watch everything go wrong.”   - Lemony Snicket
~*~
i came to this ask to rec this baseball one called "Waiting for Spring" by thievinghippo on ao3. It somehow made me care about baseball soooo 'nough said ~ @scifikimmi
Waiting for Spring
by thievinghippo (E, 131, wangxian)
Summary:  “It is a well-known fact across the major leagues that one does not smack Lan Wangji’s ass.”
Wei Wuxian rolls his eyes. Everyone smacks everyone’s ass in baseball. It’s how the game is played. Lan Wangji does not get to be exempt from this most sacred of baseball traditions.
Wei Wuxian will make sure of that.
Or, a Major League Baseball AU
~*~
hi mojo! i wanted to rec Something Good by boxoftheskyking (a loose sound of music/canon divergence au) and also MDZS: The Golden Engine by iffervescent (immortal wangxian modern au where they gotta solve a mystery and save china, featuring jiang cheng/lan xichen)
Something Good
by boxoftheskyking (T, 43k, wangxian)
Summary:  "That Wei Wuxian, you know he used to be such a promising cultivator. Head Disciple of the Jiang Clan, can you believe it? You see, juniors, the punishment for traveling the path of demonic cultivation. No golden core, not so much as a whisper of spiritual power."
As a punishment for real and imagined crimes, Wei Wuxian is sentenced to work at Cloud Recesses as the lowest of servants. When a surprising reassignment lands him with eleven children to care for, everything changes again.
A Sound of Music AU
MDZS: The Golden Engine
by iffervescent (E, 82k, wangxian, xicheng)
Summary:  In the modern era, immortals Lan Zhan and Wei Wuxian return to Gusu. New evil and old friends + new friends and old evils.
~*~
Hi Mojo! First of all let me just tell you that you are amazing and this blog is like a gift from the gods! Bless you and your endless patience and hard work. [Oh, thank you so much!]  I know that you have just accepted follower recs and I have missed miserably but I still wanted to write and bring attention to a writer by the pseudo Xiao_Hua on ao3, I think they are quite good and I just recently found the account with so much content. If you do have the time to check them out, I'd rec catfish, my fox or the red ribbon.
The Red Ribbon
by Xiao_Hua (M, 21k, wangxian, TGCF crossover)
Summary:  Wei WuXian died but not before saving HanGuang-Jun and A-Yuan, leaving so much more behind than just his ribbon.
My Fox
by Xiao_Hua (E, 13k, wangxian)
Summary:  Once he headed to YiLing that all changed for him. His priorities have been mingled with and ordered in complete disarray even without him noticing as he was left heavily influenced by a creature.
Or one where Lan WangJi is a dragon-spirit and he finds his mate in the form of a fox.
Catfish
by Xiao_Hua (E, 15k, wangxian)
Summary:  Wei WuXian has a common sense that believes it has a nine-to-five job while Lan WangJi finds that incredibly hot.
Or one where two catfish realise that neither of them truly catfished.
~*~
Hi Mojo i'm recommending this amazing fic it is called song of joys and regrets. it's a time travel AU it's amazing. And your Blog is a Godsend Thank you! [Aw, you’re so sweet!]  ~ @highgoddess
Song of Joy and Regrets
by HelloKitten (not rated, 59k, wangxian, WIP)
Summary:  The Archery competition at Qishan this year has hit a snag. As the Sects face the wrongs perpetrated by their future selves, Wei Wuxian finds himself adopted by half of the cultivation world who are determined to save him from himself.
Baby Wangxian suffers. Adult Wangxian's job here is done.
"I'm starting to see a pattern to all his plans..." "Do they all involve him being bait?" "Yes" came deadpanned responses.
~*~
Here’s a 2021 Reverse Big Bang entry, in time for Father’s Day; [Oops, my bad, sorry!]  Under a Blanket of Black Wings, by ChaoticAndrogynous (#31398395); LWJ, recuperating from the 33 lashes, tells A-Yuan a series of fairytales about a heroic monster and the brave little boy he befriended. Vampire! WWX (in the framing story as well as the story-within-the-story); happy ending.
Under a Blanket of Black Wings
by ChaoticAndrogynous (T, 19k, wangxian)
Summary:  Lan Wangji tells A-Yuan a bedtime story about a beautiful monster and the brave little boy who was his friend. Thirteen years later, the monster returns.
~*~
Hello Mojo! Have you read ‘Key Differences’ by Pupeez4eva? Its a MDZS!WWX meets CQL!WWX and its really good! [It’s on my list!]
Key Differences
by pupeez4eva (T, 6k, wangxian)
Summary:  “I don’t understand,” Wei Wuxian said, while his alternate self continued to stare at him with almost a look of hurt in his eyes. There was longing in there too, which Wei Wuxian would have easily recognised if he paid enough attention. “How could you not get together, after everything. What even went on in the Guanyin Temple if you didn’t confess?”
“The Guanyin Temple,” Wei Ying repeated incredulously. “You’re asking me if I confessed at — honestly, a lot went on that day. It was a life and death situation. There was no confessing.”
Wei Wuxian stared at him, appalled.
(Wherein Wei Wuxian ends up meeting an alternate version of himself who, much to his horror, never married Lan Wangji. Obviously he has to do something to fix this).
~*~
Hey Mojo i would recommend this fanfic if you already haven’t, it’s called “ take me back to a time “ by DizziDreams. It’s sooooo good
take me back to a time
by DizziDreams (T, 144k, wangxian, 3zun)
Summary:  Wei Ying has a lot on his plate right now.
It’s finals week -- which isn’t so bad. He’s never had to study much to do well in classes. But that just means that things are that much more tense with Jiang Cheng, who, as far as Wei Ying can tell, only takes study breaks long enough to glare at Wei Ying where he sits on the couch playing video games.
It’s not studies that have Wei Ying stressed out. It’s everything else. It’s the recruitment for the research trial he’s coordinating. It’s jiejie and her impending marriage to His Royal Douchebag Jin Zixuan. It’s the volunteer work at the palliative care facility. It’s Wen Ning’s worsening condition. It’s Wen Qing working herself thin to care for her brother and Wen Yuan. It’s the way Wen Yuan never seems to have enough food.
So, yeah. There’s enough on Wei Ying’s plate already, meaning it’s not entirely welcome when he comes home and finds a man standing in his bedroom. A man in extravagant white robes, a ribbon tied around his forehead, long hair gathered into a topknot, fist clutching a sword at his side, who asks him, “Where am I?”
~*~
Idk if this has already been rec’d (I’ve been off the grid for a while now), but there’s this absolutely incredible fic called Restitution by an anon on ao3 people should definitely check out!
this one?
on restitution
by Anonymous (M, 78k, wangxian, jin ling & wei wuxian, lan sizhui & wei wuxian, WIP)
Summary:  When Wei Wuxian regains consciousness, he is in a bed. A real, proper bed, not the slab he called a bed in his cave in the Burial Mounds.
Jiang Cheng is glowering above him.
Wei Wuxian doesn't die during the siege of the Burial Mounds. Rather, he is captured in secret and confined at Lotus Pier. Things change accordingly.
~*~
Hi momjo! I feel like every time I come to your blog there's twenty more new and amazing fics for me to read. Thank you for everything you do for this fandom!  [Thank you, sweetie!  And yes, I think there ARE 20 new fics every day out there in the fandom.  It’s amazing!] Today I come bearing my own rec to you. I've recently read this and it's IMO one of the best fics out there. It's called Lapsteel by carriecmoney and it's a modern stormchaser AU featuring country songs and coming home. ~ @manaika-chan
Lapsteel
by carriecmoney (T, 42k, wangxian)
Summary:  Now and then, I think about you now and then...
It's been thirteen years since Wei Ying ran for the prairies, leaving behind a family in shambles and a secret on the Pacific wind. What happens when the storm he swirled catches up to him?
Modern AU with country music star Lan Zhan, stormchaser Wei Ying, and shared crossroads.

hi, rory! <3 what majors would the sc veterans take if they were in the modern world?
hi, anon !! thank you so much for this ask, this is heaven in disguise from all my schoolwork. tbh, the whole time i was working for a lab report, my mind will go back to this ask bc i wanted to have the association as accurate as possible hhhajshw
i asked one of my friends for help and thank God for them bc my single brain cell really said 'it's time for you to rest' after staring at one backlog. without further ado, here are the veterans' majors if they're studying in university:
Tumblr media
first off, hange zoe, because if you ask me this question in real life, they would be the only one i can answer. every damn time i would think of them in a college setting, being a biology major is really hange's forte. at this point, this is what everyone would associate them with.
hange is all about experimenting and doing brilliant breakthroughs in any field of science but knowing that they have this unparalleled fascination with the unusual and unexpected life-forms (ahem titans ahem), the biology lab would be the surest place where you could find hange. i feel like biology is too broad so i will add that microbiology or bacteriology are just some of the specializations they will be taking in their time in college.
imagine, being lab partners with hange and immediately knowing that you will have one of the highest grades in the class because they're that well-versed in a specific lab report. and if you're partners with them for the rest of the academic year, you might as well have a shot at an immaculate grade. i'm not saying that you should depend on them too much though hHHHH, hange is still a member of the majority of the student body who relies heavily on caffeine to keep them invigorated. who isn't at this point?
so far, some of the biology majors that i encountered (well, more like chatted behind a screen — online classes suck), they have this energy that could drain my social battery too quickly and hange fits that description. (note that this doesn't apply to any college bc i observed this in mine soooo 🤭) they're the type to always go on a tangent on a certain science article or coerce you into joining this org thing. i can imagine levi just looking at hange like they're the one sucking his brain cells out whenever they speak about a documentary in bbc they watched the night before.
and if you're stuck on anything biology-related, hange will be the best person to ask help from. they're the first ray of sunlight you get while waking up. they're that approachable.

okay, so erwin smith.
don't come at me but he just radiates this ceo vibes and with that, one of his probably majors is business administration. i know this is so stereotypical of me but let's face it, erwin is a smooth talker through and through and if he doesn't take up marketing, business is one way to spend his college years. knowing his personality in attack on titan of establishing deals easily with a determined resolve, he fits the broadest description of being a business administration major. (again, don't come at me because my consultant for this statement is google and nobody comes after google sometimes hhhhh)
just for the benefit of myself, i will add what google says about this major, "[they] learn the mechanics of business through classes in fundamentals, such as finance, accounting and marketing ... students find ways to solve problems using data and they develop communication and managerial skills." and i thank you.
he's also probably the most well-spoken and most professional when conversing with others among his friends (and i'm not saying this to drag the other characters but this is what i pick up on) and that is exactly the qualities his major specializes. it is expected for them to strike deals and be a people person and who better character for the job than our very own erwin smith 🤩
now i mentioned 'one of the probable majors' and yes, aside from business administration, philosophy just exudes erwin smith. ngl, when i imagined erwin in a college setting, this major will always come first. his mind is just so sexy to me??? and i hope you guys think the same, too, because i don't want to be the only one who thinks that 👀 kidding aside, erwin is one of the smartest people in attack on titan and every time he speaks in one episode, my brain will instantly go mush, and that's what i feel when i hear philosophy majors talk.
philosophy majors (according to any other youtuber who does lookbooks for various majors hhhhhh) challenge what is unanswerable and analyze questions with no right answer. i feel like erwin, like hange, will talk all night to explain a theory. just imagine a date with him and you just listen to him rant about a topic that they should be making a report on. just listen to this man, okay?? it's adorable when he lets his guard down to include you in his little bubble of philosophies. he would also mention random things that he learned in classes, sometimes finding joy in knowing the philosophies of other people, or even deciphering levi's dream of an apocalyptic world. (it pisses levi off but he just leave him be.)
if you want a man who can do both of these majors, erwin smith is the answer 😉
Tumblr media
sigh, mike zacharias.
this man holds so many talents and will forever amaze me.
i assume all of us here watched the movie perfume. and no, i'm not saying that mike is going to be a murderer but just like the main character of that film, making perfumes will be his forte with that sense of smell of his. and here, i conclude that mike will definitely take up chemical engineering.
he gives me the vibes that if it covers the one thing he does best, he will love his major. (mr. zacharias, can you please spare me that quality because i really need that now 😩) being in the labs while experimenting mundane things that can be found in the environment to create different scents is also a likely situation you can find him in, again, very much like hange. he's the type of student who really puts so much effort in staying afloat the honors list, even to the point of topping midterms in his major, for the sake of his dream. there will never be a moment where you will catch him complain about his major and professors.
he's that type of friend in college who agrees to any rant you say but in reality, he's got his life easy 😭
i headcanon mike owning a perfume shop after college just like how levi always dreamed of having a tea shop.
okay, imagine this little scenario if you're dating mike where he creates this unique perfumes as random gifts for you. they're not the typical perfumes that can seep through the room and can make you gag for no reason, they're subtle scents that will stay for the duration of the day. because again, he's got a sensitive nose, so making perfumes according to what his sense of smell dictates will always result in a revolutionary experiment. if you're randomly blurting out that you want a fusion of flowers and fruits as your perfume, say no more, he's your man.

now, the veteran who i find the hardest to associate a major with — levi ackerman.
after much deliberation and a break from plant physiology, i see him taking up law or criminology.
(i asked some of this from my mom because she attended law school :>>>)
levi is so organized and detailed in the things that he do and he fits in either of these majors since they require tedious memorizations and analysis of laws and crime scenes while being assertive enough to defend someone. he's the typical person who blurts out the true situation of a crime scene when watching film adaptations. yeah, he's that person, the one who sucks the enthusiasm out of you while watching a movie because he just had to correct some of the scenes. nevertheless, he means well though, he just wanted you to understand the reality unlike how films portray gruesome murders. movie nights always end up with levi ranting about half-assed mystery clichés.
levi's binder of readings are always too bright for everyone's good. his notes are full of highlighters and scribbles that it can blind someone. for one, he's always up all night studying his readings and cases for a practice court so by choosing neon highlighters, it's a way for him to wake up. there isn't one book in his possession that he doesn't highlight like it's a fricking coloring book. hange once jokingly said that his binder now acts like his bible and for once, he agrees because he was never seen without one. hange had a field day since levi never agrees with them.
when doing practice courts though, his go-to resting bitch face always come in handy when carrying out his role as one of the lawyers. he's just so sexy with his hands in the pockets of his slacks as he tries to justify his supposed client. the way he questions the accused definitely isn't hot because he's like one of the panelists in your thesis defense, the one who just comes up with questions that have you melting on the spot. he's dangerous i tell you. it also doesn't help if you accidentally hurt one of his friends or just landed randomly in his blacklist for being annoying as hell. relax though, he doesn't mean harm other than the fact that he's ready to throw some hands from all the pent-up rage he gathered in his body.
of course, i couldn't forget how he dresses up like a typical dark academia fanatic so look out for eye-candy.
if you want someone who can recite articles from the constitution, this man is perfect for you 😌
Tumblr media
i had so much fun doing this !! again, i'm not generalizing every major i've talked about in these little headcanons, this is all for fun and based on the people i encountered in college. if you want more of this, don't hesitate to ask !! 😚

The Last Dream of My Soul part 1. (R.L.)
hello everyone! This is the first part of the Remus Lupin series that i’m starting and i am soooo excited. i am still new at this so any feedback is appreciated!! i hope you enjoy!!
Pairing: Young!Remus Lupin x Reader
Summary: The very bookish (Y/n) has spent most of her life alone, aside from her best friends Lily and her beloved books. But when the infamous Marauders get thrust into her life, how could she resist the beautiful and unattainable Remus.
Warnings: Cursing
Word Count: 3.1k
Tumblr media
The yellowing and rough pages of old books had always felt like home to you. The smell of the aging parchment and the worn and weathered covers had always offered you more comfort than any real person ever had. On a bad day, you’d be able to curl up in your bed, lulled to sleep by your favorite characters, and adventures more exciting than your own life. As the years pushed forward this was how your life was. You didn’t have many friends but that was okay because you had your books. Who needed a best friend when you could spend your afternoons in Narnia with the Pevensie siblings or tumble through rabbit holes with Alice? For the early years of your childhood, you were content with the reality that you wished you could be in any world than your own. Your boring, magicless, and unmysterious world.
But that all changed the year you turned eleven. You remember the day as if it were yesterday. You were laying on your bed, your legs tangled in the quilt your mother had made. A Nancy Drew book sat in front of you, the plot of which now escapes you but at this point, you had already solved the mystery yourself. It was a perfect summer afternoon. The sun was out and you could hear the other neighborhood kids shouting from outside your window. They never invited you out to play but you were okay with that; you had far more exciting things to read. You were turning a page, nearly halfway through the book, when you heard tapping from your window. Your head shot up- your reading induced trance was now broken- only to be met with the sight of a snowy owl. You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. You had never seen that type of bird around here. And you had certainly never seen one clutching a letter between its talons. You carefully marked your page in your book and quickly hopped out of bed. You made your way to the window and attempted to open it, a task that proved difficult for your small eleven-year-old body. After a few moments of a struggle, you finally pried it open. The owl dropped the letter inside your room and flew off. You bent down to pick up the parchment from the floor to see that the letter was addressed to you, and was from someplace called Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
From that moment on your world had been flipped upsidedown, at least in the sense that everything now had to change. But to you, if anything, the world had finally been made right. Magic was real- and you had the pleasure of possessing it. It was like some part of you had always known that magic existed beyond the pages of your favorite books. It was as if everything finally made sense.
You dragged your family down the streets of Diagon Alley, absorbing every bit of magic culture that you could. You reveled in the lights and the feeling of warmth that coursed through your veins when you finally picked up the right wand at Ollivanders. You squealed with delight when your parents purchased you an owl and you nearly died of excitement when you realized that pictures plastered on posters in the alleys moved. And when you ran through the seemingly solid barrier at Kingscross station you thought you would pass out from the thrill. And when you got on the train you curled up by yourself in a compartment, hurriedly reading through your History of Magic textbook, attempting to soak up every bit of knowledge that you could.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
During your first year at Hogwarts, you came to the slow realization that you might actually need friends. Now that you knew that magic was real you wanted to experience as much of it as you could, and it felt rather lonely to experience it all on your own. The characters in your books had always had sidekicks and best friends on their grand adventures, and being accepted into Hogwarts marked the beginning of yours. Now you just needed someone to share it with. Luckily, the pretty girl with brilliant green eyes and glowing red hair that shared your dorm had the same idea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
By your fourth year, you and Lily Evans were attached at the hip. You spent nearly all your time together, inside and outside of class, and told each other absolutely everything. She knew everything about you, every detail and every secret, and you knew the same about her. Sure you had other friends, Marlene and Alice were nice and you hung around them quite often, but it was nothing like your relationship with Lily. She was the Elizabeth Bennet to your Charlotte Collins. Nobody understood you as she did, and you didn’t think you’d ever find anyone else who did.
But despite your closeness, you always felt a tinge of jealousy towards her. She was everything you weren’t: she was strong and outgoing, she felt no fear when talking to strangers, and it seemed that everyone instantly took a liking to her. Everyone loved her. She had flocks of friends, granted she wasn’t as close to any of them as she was to you, but it occasionally made you feel unimportant. It also seemed as if half of the year was in love with her. James Potter was evidence of that, constantly making a fool of himself to impress her. Lily always scoffed at him, not finding any of his antics even slightly attractive. And out loud you agreed with her that he was just a silly boy, but deep down you wished someone would give you at least a fraction of the attention that he gave her. But that was how it always went. Lily was the type of girl that boys would fall in love with. You, on the other hand, her quiet and shy sidekick, went largely unnoticed. But everything was fine. Because in moments when you felt lonely or inadequate you could turn to your books just as you did when you were young. Fingers tracing over the words of Mr. Darcy’s declaration of love or Romeo and Juliet’s final moments. And at the time, it was enough.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was your seventh year when things really started to change. After years of begging, Lily finally said yes to James. You were happy for her of course, she seemed to really like him. And he obviously really liked her. The way that James looked at her could only be described in the words of your favorite novels. But with her new relationship came uncharted territory: Lily now sat with him at most meals, though every few breakfasts she’d make a point to sit with you, and the spot you usually occupied next to her in the common room was now occupied by James. And the worst part was that you were now alone on Hogsmeade weekends, a time that was usually reserved for you and Lily to walk arm and arm around the small village. But despite all of this you couldn’t be mad at her. You saw how happy she was- and her happiness made you happy as well. But you couldn’t help but feel a tad jealous that she got to feel an emotion that you yearned to feel with your entire being. Love.
“(Y/n) come on!” Lily exclaimed, throwing up her hands in exasperation. You groaned, looking up at her from the book in front of you. You were currently rereading A Tale of Two Cities, a favorite of yours that was littered with dogeared pages and underlined phrases. You made eye contact with your best friends, noticing the frustration in her eyes.
“Can you please just come eat breakfast with us?” she asked, rubbing her temple with her fingertips.
“Lils you know I want to eat breakfast with you but I don’t want to interrupt your time with James,” you replied, starting to look back down at your book.
“You’re not interrupting anything! All of his friends sit with us too!” she said desperately. When you didn’t respond to her exclamation she reached down and snatched the book from your hands.
“Lily!” you cried, sitting up and attempting to steal back your book.
“No (Y/n) I’m not giving this back until you come eat with me! I feel like I never see you anymore,” she said.
“Yeah, that’s because you’re always with James,” you responded while making another sad attempt to reclaim your novel. Lily’s face fell.
“Do you think I’m spending too much time with him? I swear I don’t mean to ignore you, I’ll stop eating meals with him and we can go to Hogsm-” she rambled, practically shoving the old book back into your hands.
“No Lily!” you shouted, cutting her off. “You’re not spending to much time with him! It seems like a perfectly acceptable time to spend around your boyfriend. I just miss you that’s all,” you said quietly. Lily’s face softened.
“Then come eat breakfast with me. I want you to get to know James better. You two are my favorite people I want you to get along,” she once again urged.
“Lily I’m not sure… I don’t really know anyone else there and you don’t have to worry I already like James plenty,” you replied.
“Just come, please! I promise that you’ll like his friends!” she practically begged. You sighed in defeat, finally giving in.
“Fine Lily,” you grumbled, standing up to gather your things.
“Yay!” Lily exclaimed, clapping her hands together.
“But, I can only promise today. If his friends suck I won’t come back,” you exclaimed sternly. Lily nodded solemnly.
“Understood.”
The two of you made your way down to the Great Hall for breakfast as Lily attempted to give you a rundown on the group of boys that you were about to meet.
“Ok so obviously you know James, he plays quidditch and is studying to become an Auror. His best friend is Sirius who, I know, has a reputation but I swear he’s no that ba-”
“Lily I know who they all are! We’ve been in the same house for the last seven years,” you said, interrupting her with a laugh. Lily rolled her eyes at you.
“Yes I know you know them but you don’t know them,” Lily replied.
“Fine fine,” you said, throwing your hands up in surrender. “Continue.”
“Thank you,” Lily smiled. “As I was saying, Sirius is not as bad as everyone makes him out to seem. Yes, he hooks up with quite a few girls but he’s actually very funny and is secretly a sweetheart. Then there’s Peter, who I’ll admit is a little odd, but he’s harmless. And finally, there’s Remus. He honestly reminds me of you: he’s quiet and he reads a lot like you do. But he’s kind of a smartass sometimes so watch out for that,” she said, finished with her rundown. By this point, the two of you had reached the great hall. Breakfast was already in full swing and the room was swarming with students. Lily grabbed your arm and led you to a spot about midway down the table. She plopped down next to James, kissing him quickly on the cheek, causing Sirius to make a fake gagging face, before pulling you down to sit next to her.
“Boys,” she said, attempting to catch the attention of all four boys.
“This is (Y/n), my best mate in the entire world, so you all better be nice to her,” Lily stated matter-o-factly. You looked up to give a meek smile to all the boys. James greeted you warmly, Sirius gave you a small nod, Peter waved excitedly, and Remus didn’t even look up at you. You frowned for a moment before Sirius smacked Remus’s arm from his spot next to him.
“Hey Moony, pay attention we have a guest,” he said jokingly before shooting you a smile. Remus’s head shot up quickly, looking from Sirius to you, locking his eyes with yours. Once he seemingly realized what was happening he shot you a quick smile. You smiled back, attempting to hide the blush that the momentary eye contact had caused. You had always found Remus attractive, but you had never been so near him before. Something about the proximity made you jittery and made your palms sweat.
“Sorry about that,” he said, lifting a book from underneath the table. He flashed the cover of the book towards you. The title, Crime and Punishment, was sprawled across the worn cover. You felt your nose crinkle, reminded of how much you disliked the book. Remus’s eyebrows furrowed.
“What? Not a fan of Dostoevsky?” he asked. You shook your head.
“I guess the plot was interesting enough but oh my Godric was it dense,” you replied with a groan. You heard Remus chuckle from his spot across from you.
“Yeah, I suppose I can see where you’re coming from. I am enjoying it so far though,” he replied. You hummed in understanding before reaching for a piece of toast.
“Oh come on Lily,” Sirius said with a grin. “I can’t believe you would bring another nerd along. We already have Remus, we don’t need another one,” he continued. You felt your face heat up, ducking your head as you bit into the piece of toast. Lily narrowed her eyes at Sirius.
“Sirius I told you to be nice,” she said before throwing a piece of her roll at him. He laughed before throwing his hands up in surrender.
“Sorry (Y/n),” he apologized. You sent him a quick nod to let him know that it was okay, before pulling out your own book. As you stared down at the pages in front of you, you missed Remus perking up in interest.
“What are you reading?” he asked, setting his book down. You looked up quickly, showing him the cover.
“A Tale of Two Cities. It’s one of my favorites,” you answered shyly. You felt Lily shift beside you before speaking.
“She’s read that book probably a million times,” she said. You rolled your eyes.
“I wouldn’t say a million times, but yes I’ve read it quite a few times,” you replied before shifting your eyes back to Remus. He let out a soft laugh.
“I’ve never read it before. I’ll have to pick a copy up when we go to Hogsmeade. One of the shops sells muggle books,” he said with a small smile.
“You can borrow mine!” you said too quickly, causing yourself to blush. He looked at you, surprised.
“Oh, uh sure. I’ll borrow it when I’m done with this,” he replied, once again holding up Crime and Punishment. You heard Lily snicker from beside you.
“Good luck trying to read one of her books,” Lily said. “There’s so much writing in the margins it’s nearly impossible to get through.” You turned to her and smacked her lightly on the shoulder.
“Hey! It’s not that bad,” you said with a slight pout.
“I don’t mind,” Remus said, causing your eyes to turn back to him. “I’ll be interested in reading your thoughts as well as the book,” he said earnestly. You felt yourself smile involuntarily. You were about to reply when James stood up suddenly.
“Damnit we’re going to be late to potions,” he exclaimed. And with that, you all gathered your things and left.
Potions was generally a subject that you were good at. You often found yourself shooting your hand up during class to answer questions and Professor Slughorn had taken a liking to you. However, you found yourself unable to pay attention to the lesson. From your seat on the far side of the room, you had caught yourself staring at Remus. He was joking around with Peter, his potions partner, and had a wide smile spread across his face. He had scars running down his face, though they didn’t make him less attractive. In fact, they only seemed to add to the allure. His hair was messy and fell into his eyes. You felt yourself sigh when he ran his finger through his hair to get it out of his face.
“(Y/n)? Are you all right?” Lily asked, startling you. You nearly jumped from your seat, hand pressed to your chest.
“Merlin Lils! You scared me,” you replied. She squinted her eyes at you.
“(Y/n)? What’s going on with you?” she asked, scanning your face.
“Nothing!” you swore, stealing another quick glance at Remus. That was when the realization hit her. A teasing smile quickly spread it’s way across Lily’s face.
“Oh my goodness you fancy Remus don’t you?” she inquired, making your eyes widen and face flush. You pushed her shoulder lightly.
“Lily hush! And no I don’t!” you exclaimed as you glanced around the room to make sure that no one had heard her.
“Oh, you totally do! All that book talk this morning must’ve really got to you huh,” she said, waggling her eyebrows at you. You put your head in your hands and groaned.
“Shut up Lily!”
“Only when you admit it,” she responded.
“Fine! But you can’t tell anybody! Not even James,” you warned. Lily grinned from beside you.
“Oh, this is perfect! The two of you are perfect for each other!” she exclaimed.
“Lily! Just be quiet. It’s not like it’s ever going to happen,” you said. Lily looked at you, confusion was written all over her face.
“What do you mean it’s never going to happen?” she asked. You sighed, glancing at Remus once again. He was stirring the potion in front of him, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows.
“Lily why would he ever like me?”
“Why wouldn’t he?” she replied, clearly exasperated. You turned to her, giving her an incredulous look.
“We have seven years of evidence that boys don’t like me,” you respond. Lily rolled her eyes beside you.
“Well, this is different trust me,” Lily responded. You stare at her.
“How could this possibly be any different?”
“Because you could actually talk to Remus, get to know him He’ll obviously fancy you once he learns more about you.” Then it was your turn to roll your eyes.
“Lily, it’s never going to happen so just drop it,” you responded. You picked up the recipe for the potion that you were assigned to make that day.
“Now, can you please hand me the adder’s fork,” you said, listing off the first ingredient. Lily sighed.
“Fine. But we’ll be talking about this later.”

TW: Mentions of murder
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I swear to God that this case is gonna make me crazy!"
"Please, Detective, don't call out my father!"
Chloe pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed: currently, she and Lucifer worked on a murder case.
The victims, all members of a scientific research group, were burned to death, but it looked like the burning came from inside the bodies. An element that puzzles the detective, who sighed in defeat:
"Okay, so... What do you think about this case?"
"Mmmh... For sure, a mere human cannot do that. Unless he would be able to force his victims to swallow some combustible, strike a match, and... Burn baby, burn!"
"Very funny, Lucifer!"
"Pleasure's mine, dear Chloe!" retorted the demon with a seductive wink.
The detective rolled her eyes but can't help smiling at his antics: she knew he was only trying to light up her mood.
She reported her attention to the investigation file and said:
"According to our dear Ella, not a single trace of fuel was found in the victims' bodies. But how the killer can burn his victims to death?"
"Do you know what it means?"
"I'm afraid that we are dealing with a new case of a supernatural arsonist creature!" sighed the woman.
"I'm sorry to tell you that, but you're right!" answered the Devil with a comforting pat on her shoulder.
"After what I've seen before, nothing could surprise me anymore!"
"Well, you got the point!"
"Do you have an idea which creature can do that?"
Lucifer frowned, puzzled.
"It might be surprising, but this time, I don't know who can be the potential guilty!"
"I wish I know someone who can help us because this case is getting on my nerves!"
The fallen angel cogitated a long time before he exclaimed:
"Eureka! I know someone who can help us!"
"Really? Thank you! But who is this person?"
"Of course, my Mama!"
When she heard those words, Chloe quivered:
"What? You want to call your mother? After all the mess she did with you? She badly hurt you, remember..."
Lucifer bit his lip:
"Well, I was not talking about my birth mother. I explain myself. You see, Chloe, after my parents get separated, our mother rejected us. My siblings and I were raised by another person. He made my old man happy, and he treated us as if we were his own children."
The demon fondly smiled.
"He is very dear to me..."
"I can see it... Wait a minute: you said "he" are you sure you did not make a mistake?"
"No, you heard well: I was raised by two men!"
"Wait for a second... Do you just say that God is gay?"
"Bisexual would be more appropriate!"
Chloe shrugged.
"Well, after all I've been through since we met, I think that's not a big deal. Besides, if you say that your dad can help us, it suits me!"
She noticed how Lucifer seemed more relaxed after her statement.
"I'm happy to see that you're always open-minded!"
"You're welcome. Now, call your dad! We have a case to solve!"
"At your orders!" smirked the demon as he dialed the man who raised him.
Later, at Lucifer's penthouse.
Sitting on the comfortable couch, Chloe and Trixie watched with amusement Lucifer running around his penthouse, checking every room. Mazikeen, desperate by her boss's behavior, shook her head.
"Right, I put the whiskey on the table, and his favorite meals are here too... Where do I put the cake?"
"In the fridge, Lucifer!" answered Trixie, who chuckled.
"Ah yes: it is there!"
"Come on, Lucifer: it's your dad, not the Pope!" gently joked Chloe.
"I don't appreciate the mockery, Detective Decker!" growled Lucifer as he checked himself in the mirror.
"Don't take it personally, Chloe: he always gets stressed when it comes to his other father! He wants to be a good son with him," reassured Mazikeen.
"You know his other father?" asked the blonde woman.
"Indeed, yes. Lucifer's father number two is Petraeus, or Peter if you want, and he is a powerful being!"
"He is God's companion, so I think he might be as powerful as Him!"
"You're right. But I'm sure you're going to appreciate Petraeus. He is a brilliant man, you know. He is also smart and absolutely charming!"
"Well, I trust you."
"You can: he is more approachable than God!"
Suddenly, they heard a knock on the door. Lucifer stopped walking and muttered:
"Oh, hell! It's him!"
"Stop being alarmed: it's just your father! You know what? I'll open the door before you freak out in front of your dad!" smirked Mazi, who got up and walked at the door.
She opened the door and saw a dark-haired man with black eyes and fair skin. Dressed in an elegant white suit, the man smiled:
"Good evening, Mazikeen. It's been a long time."
"It's a pleasure to see you again, Master Petraeus."
"Don't be so formal! You can call me Peter, you know?"
"Sorry, a force of habit. But please, come in!"
Petraeus stepped in and said:
"Good evening, everyone!"
Lucifer rushed towards his father with open arms:
"Good evening, Papa!"
"My sweet demon!" beamed Petraeus as he held his son close to him.
Chloe smiled at the sight of her lover: she never saw Lucifer acting like that with other members of his holy family. He appeared to be close to his father.
Meanwhile, Petraeus stepped aside and looked at his son:
"Look at you, boy: handsome as always!"
"I had a good teacher!"
"Don't be so flattering!"
He glanced at Chloe and Trixie with a charming smile.
"Are these beautiful ladies the famous Chloe and Trixie you told me about?"
"Yes, of course: Papa, this is Detective Chloe Decker and her daughter, Beatriz Espinoza, aka Trixie!"
"Please to meet you, Sir Petraeus!" smiled Chloe as she shook hands with the guest.
"The pleasure is mine, dear Chloe. And don't worry: you can call me Peter!"
"If you allow me..." smirked Chloe.
Trixie jumped on her feet and held out her hand with a wide grin on her face.
"Hello, Peter! I'm Trixie! Please to meet you!"
"What a lively young lady! Nice to meet you too!" laughed Peter.
After he finished his greetings, he looked at the place with impressed eyes.
"You find yourself a comfortable place to live, my dear son. I see you accommodate it at your image!"
"Listen, if the Old Man made Earth at his image, why can't I do the same with my house?"
"Cheeky as always, aren't you?" grinned Peter.
"You know Papa: I've always been the rebellious one among your children!"
"I have noticed..."
The celestial spirit stopped himself as he remarked the table set with chic crockery and delicious courses.
"Oh, Lucifer: you should not have! It was not necessary to turn your dining room into Versailles' Hall of Mirrors!"
"Only the best for you, Papa: come on, sit down! Dinner's ready!"
The evening went smooth, and Chloe admitted that Mazikeen was utterly right about Peter. He was not only good-looking and kind but also intellectual - without being conceited. He had so many stories about historical figures to tell, which amazed Trixie.
"So you met all those people? That's soooo cool!" happily squealed the young girl.
"I'm glad that you liked my anecdotes, Trixie. You know that some of them were Lucifer's bedtime stories when he was your age?"
"Oh no, Dad!" groaned Lucifer, flustered.
"What? There is nothing to be ashamed of, sweets!"
Chloe grinned as she saw her boyfriend confused by some childhood memories. But she discerned in his eyes all the adoration and filial love he had for Petraeus, and she could swear he never looked at God like this...
Time went by, and it was past midnight when Trixie had to go to bed after she nearly fell asleep on the table. Once the young girl settled in a bedroom, the adults talked about the case:
"So, my dear son, you need my help if I understand well?"
"Yes. Chloe and I are working on a difficult case, and we think your knowledge would be valuable!"
"Alright, tell me more about this problem!"
"Everything we've found so far is in this folder!" explained Chloe as she handed a file to Peter.
Petraeus opened it and was taken aback by the horrendous pictures of burned bodies.
"Oh, dear! What a frightful view!"
"Yes, I agree. All the victims belonged to a scientific research group, and they were burnt to death."
"I see it. But what makes you think that you need my help?"
"Well, Papa, this is where the mystery begins. The coroner confirmed that the burn comes from the inside of the bodies. But there is not a trace of fuel! So, we come to the conclusion that a creature killed those people!"
Peter nodded.
"I understand now... Well, from what I can see, it looks like an igniting spell, which implies that the unsub is a fire-element being. However, I cannot determine if it belongs to Biblical, Coranic, Jewish, Buddhist, or pagan mythology."
"If you want, you can accompany us to the Police Department tomorrow. I'm sure Ella, our dear coroner, would accept to show us the three last victims!"
"Thank you for your kind invitation, Chloe. It's a good idea!"
The young woman thanked him before yawning:
"Sorry if I seem impolite, but I have to leave you. This day was a complete mess, and I need to sleep... And I'm sure you had a lot of time to catch up!"
"Go ahead, I'll join you later!" smiled Lucifer.
"Okay. Good night, Peter!"
"Have a nice night!" answered the celestial spirit.
As the detective left the dining room, Peter turned to his son and said:
"She is really exquisite, Lucifer! You rightly choose your soulmate!"
"Well, I must admit it: I'm lucky that she accepted me in her life. Chloe is the most amazing woman I ever met!"
Peter tenderly smiled at Lucifer:
"Seeing you so happy is a blessing for me! I was so worried that your banishment would put you down..."
The fallen angel saw a spark of sadness clouding his Papa's eyes.
"Papa, are you alright?"
"Sorry, it's just that... I feel so terrible not being able to visit you on Earth. But your father did not allow me to do so..."
He sadly sighed
"You had no idea how many times we argued about it. I told him that his punishment was above cruelty, and he did not even try to understand why you stood up against his authority!"
"I figure that he told you that you were too kind with me!"
"You know him well... Of course, I cannot disobey him, so I did not come visiting you either in Hell or Earth. But I send you some signs from me... just to tell you that you're not alone, and I'll always love you, no matter what happens!"
Touched by his father's sadness, the demon reached his father's hand and gently held it.
"Papa, I already knew it. You don't have to feel guilty: nothing is your fault. I knew about your messages: I kept them in a small box, and when I feel distressed, I read them, and it cheers me up. You always cared about my siblings and me more than our mother. I'll always be grateful to have you as my Papa."
Relief spread through Peter as he smiled:
"Thank you, son."
Lucifer glanced at the clock and stated:
"Well, time runs fast, and you maybe want to get some rest..."
"Good idea: all those emotions dried me out."
The King of Hell led his dad to the guest room.
"Here's your bed for the night! You have your own bathroom on the right with all the comfort!"
"I'll manage for tonight... Thank you, Lucifer!"
"You're welcome, dad. Good night!"
Peter leaned close to his son and kissed his forehead:
"Good night, my little demon!"
As he came back to his bedroom, Lucifer felt his heart happily swelling. He ached for the love of his parents for a long time, and he was more than happy to meet his Papa again.
Lucifer and his siblings were forever grateful to Petraeus for bringing joy back in their Holy Father's heart and loving them as his own offspring.
When he laid down next to Chloe, who was already asleep, the demon felt like his life on Earth was kind of complete...
The following day.
After bringing Trixie back to her home, Chloe drove to the L.A.P.D with Lucifer and Petraeus.
"Los Angeles is a quite unusual place. Even if it had a lot of lovely surroundings, I'm not fond of its nightlife. But I can understand why you choose to live here, my Lightbringer!" stated the celestial spirit.
"What can I say? I love the atmosphere of Los Angeles at night, and my nightclub is among the most popular of the city!" smirked Lucifer.
"How boastful you are!" gently mocked Chloe.
"Oh, honey, why do you have to hurt me?" pouted Lucifer while making puppy eyes.
"Because she knows you well, darling!" chuckled Peter.
A few minutes later, they arrived at the Police Department and headed to the forensic lab. When they entered the lab, Ella was already there, checking the last victim's remains.
"Good morning, Ella!"
Tumblr media
The coroner rose her head and greeted her colleagues with a warm smile.
"Hiya, guys! How are you?"
"We're fine, thanks. Still working on the last victim?"
"Unfortunately: I scanned every ash, every piece of flesh, but I can't find any bloody clue! The only thing I found so far are traces of bindings on their wrists and ankles!"
She noticed Peter's presence.
"May I know the name of our dashing visitor?"
"Where are my manners? My name is Petraeus, but you can call me Peter."
"Nice to meet you, Peter. And you are...?"
"Ah yes: I'm Lucifer's dad."
Ella frowned, puzzled.
"But I thought Lucifer's father is God!"
"Well, I'm his other dad..."
When she put all the pieces together, she jumped back and yelped.
"HOLY COW! DOES IT MEAN THAT GOD IS GAY?"
"Bisexual, precisely. And don't worry, I had quite the same reaction as you when Lucifer told me!" explained Chloe.
Ella ran her hand through her black hair.
"Sorry if I appear rude, but it's a lot to handle in one day, and this is not what I was taught!"
"Don't worry, I understand!" reassured Peter.
"Auntie Rosalia won't ever believe it if I told her... Well, I'm pleased to meet another member of your family, Lucifer, but can you tell why your number 2 father is doing here?"
"My dear Miss Lopez, my Papa came to helping us in this murder case!"
"Really?"
"Indeed, my son told me that you were struggling with those killings!"
"Struggling is an understatement. Would you like to check on the body I'm currently working on?"
"Well, if you allow me, I accept with pleasure!"
Ella gestured for him to come closer to inspect the remains.
He inclined and carefully looked at the corpse. After his observation, he muttered:
"I can confirm that your murderer is a supernatural creature!"
"Oh no! That's what I feared!" sighed Chloe as she facepalmed.
"And what else can you tell us about it?" asked Ella.
"That it is from another mythology: so, it's not a Biblical demon who is causing this tragedy. I hesitate between a European creature and a Middle Eastern spirit."
At the same time, Dan Espinoza made his entrance into the lab:
"Hello, Ella! Anything new about..."
He stopped in his tracks when he noticed the presence of Lucifer and Chloe:
"Chloe, Lucifer..."
"Detective Douchebag..." gritted the demon.
Dan turned his head and remarked Peter near the body:
"Ella, are you mad? Why are you letting a civilian looking at the body?"
"Because, sir, I offered my help to your department." calmly explained the celestial being.
Espinoza asked his ex wife:
"Who's this lad?"
"You better show respect to my..." growled Lucifer, but his father stopped him.
"It's okay, Lucifer: I'll handle it!"
He stepped towards Dan and asked:
"Can I know your name, detective?"
"I'm Detective-Sergeant Daniel Espinoza."
"Espinoza? Oh, you must be Trixie's father: she is a wonderful child, you know. You are lucky to have her!" genuinely said Peter.
"Er, thanks... But how do you know her?"
"Because she and I met him last night at Lucifer's place!" explained Chloe.
"Chlo, you can't let someone you don't know near to our daughter!"
"But I'm not some creepy stranger, you know. Let me introduce myself: I'm Petraeus, or Peter if you prefer my human name. I am Lucifer's father... And by the way, I am God's husband!"
A silence followed this announcement before Dan yelled:
"WHAT THE FUCK? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? God cannot be gay: it's impossible! It's not written in the Bible!"
"But humankind does not know all about God, right? And I reassure you: it's not a witticism, but the truth!"
"But still: God cannot be with a man!"
"Are you just confessing your homophobia, Detective Douchebag?" sneered Lucifer.
"You, go to Hell!"
"Been there already. King of Hell, remember?"
"Well, just get back and don't piss me off!"
"Stop insulting my son! As for my marriage with God, I can assure you that it's true: we had a beautiful and sincere relationship for billions of years!"
"But I never heard about you!"
"I trust you: I prefer being discreet. But I'm sure you know my other name..."
"Your other name?" asked Dan, bewildered.
"Does your dad had another name?" demanded Chloe to Lucifer.
"I don't remember it..." answered Lucifer, confused.
At the same time, Espinoza urged Peter to tell him:
"And what is your other name?"
"Oh, I am sure you know it... You may also know me as Virgin Mary!"
All stood astounded by the statement... until Dan fainted, unable to handle it anymore.
"Woah! That was a shock, for sure!" muttered Chloe.
"Is he still alive?" inquired Ella.
"I don't know, and I don't really care!" scoffed Lucifer.
As for Peter, he cannot help but giggle.
"That's what I expected! This joke works every time!"
"I wonder where does Lucifer takes his mocking personality..." smirked Detective Decker.
"I had a good teacher!" answered the fallen angel.
"See, Chloe: this is how I handle rude people! And I must add that my dearest husband loves my sense of humor!"
"What can I say? You're the best man in the universe, Papa!"
"Thank you, my little flame! Now, let's go back to work, shall we?"
The quatuor worked all day to find answers to this tricky case. Thanks to their teamwork, they discovered that the scientific team went to Saudi Arabia three months ago and were in the middle of a controversial story.
Indeed, they were blamed for the accidental destruction of an old temple dedicated to the jinni. And to add more fuel to the fire, the wreck caused severe injuries to a native teenage boy named Yassin. They excused themselves for the damages and never paid for their responsibilities. Moreover, they fled back to the United States before any juridical process started.
When they learned that story, Chloe was appalled, to say the least:
"How could they act like cowards?"
"Well, they were more concerned about their careers than a human life! But it does not mean that I approve their behaviors!" stated Lucifer.
"Moreover, the young boy's family was too poor to sue the team! They gave up in exchange for some money! Some people are so heartless..." grunted Ella.
"And so, we cannot suspect them to carry out their revenge against those who wronged them: first of all, because Yassin is in a comatose state. Secondly, his family does not have enough financial resources to travel from their country to Los Angeles. And thirdly, we know that it's a supernatural creature who murdered some members of the scientific team!" itemized Peter.
"Do you think a jinn could be responsible?" asked Ella.
"There is a huge probability that a jinn can be responsible for all the murders. Furthermore, they perfectly control natural elements, and they are extremely ferocious towards those who offend them!"
Chloe looked at her watch and suggested:
"Okay, guys: what if we continue our work at my place? You are my guests!"
"With great pleasure, Chloe! I wonder where do you live?"
"Somewhere less luxurious than Lucifer's penthouse!"
"Don't belittle yourself, love. Your home is a nice place, too."
Later in the evening, at Chloe's home.
Once settled at Chloe's place, the four investigators were brainstorming with the help of Mazikeen, who came empty-handed from her research.
"But how a Saudi jinn can go to Los Angeles? I mean, there are two continents and an ocean between the two!" grumbled Ella, who scratched her head, frustrated.
"That's an excellent question... I'm not familiar with the Arabic magical world, much to my chagrin!" sighed Lucifer.
Trixie, who laid on the sofa, looked at the ceiling, a slight frown on her face. She really wanted to help her mum, but she did not know how... until an idea popped into her mind.
"Mum..."
"What, Trixie?"
"I wonder... What if the boy's family appealed to a jinn to avenge him? It can explain how the jinn arrives here..."
The five adults looked at each other with amazement: they obviously did not think about this possibility!
"Of course! How can I forget this?" exclaimed Lucifer.
"By answering to their prayers, he would not only avenge the boy but also make the scientists pay for the destruction of his temple!" concluded Ella.
"That's right, but I have to mention something: jinn need a human vessel to travel such a long distance. Like this, those spirits can save their energy and powers!" described Peter.
"It can be everyone else! How can we unmask him?" asked Trixie.
"Don't worry about it: I would recognize him without a doubt!"
"Okay, but now we had to find him before he exterminates the remaining members of the scientific team!" said Mazikeen.
Suddenly, Chloe's phone rang.
"Hello?"
**"Chloe? It's Dan!"**
"I'm listening..."
**"It's about the case you work on... I have some news for you!"**
"Go ahead!"
**"First of all, we had a janitor from the lab who said that he remembered seeing someone roaming near the building many times. He cannot give us a name, but the description matches with Terry Bradford, an ex-convict. He was often arrested for acts of violence and was among the suspects of a drug dealer's murder case."**
"Uh, interesting. What else?"
**"I don't think you're ready for this one, but do you remember the boy who was injured by the scientists in Saudi Arabia?"**
"Of course, why?"
**"Well, my contact in the Saudi embassy told me that Yassin was declared missing for one and a half weeks."**
"MISSING?" exclaimed Peter, Lucifer, Trixie, Ella, and Mazikeen.
"But that's impossible! He is in a coma!"
**"He is supposed to, but the nurses found his bed empty. Since then, they searched him everywhere but in vain!"**
"Oh, I feel that I'm going crazy. Do you have anything else?"
**"No, except that I'm searching for Bradford: his probation agent did not see him for several days!**"
"Okay, I got it: be careful!"
**"Don't worry: I'll manage, as always! Good luck!"**
After she hung up, Chloe asked:
"Have you heard the news?"
"Yes, and it turns this investigation into a brain-teaser! Now, we had another suspect!" sighed Ella.
Peter turned to his son and asked:
"Do you have any idea about it, son?"
"I'm trying to put the pieces together, but it's more complicated than I thought..."
Suddenly, the King of Hell had an eye-opener.
"Of course! How I did not think about it before?"
"What do you mean?"
"Tell me if I'm wrong, Papa, but jinns can manipulate people too, right?"
"Of course."
"So, he must have taken possession of Yassin's body, traveled from Saudi Arabia, and hypnotized Bradford, forcing him to kidnap the scientists!"
"This is a good analysis, son! You'll never cease to impress me!" fondly smiled Peter.
"Okay, so we must find the jinn and Bradford before they kill another victim. But, where can we find them?"
"They need an isolated place to accomplish their crimes..."
"I know! The former industrial site near the docks! It's abandoned for years!" shrieked Ella.
"Alright, let's check there! We'll probably have answers!" declared Lucifer, who got from his seat.
"I'm coming with you!" shouted Trixie, but her mother stopped her.
"Not so fast, young lady! You stay here: it's too dangerous!"
"Mommy, we live with Satan himself: there is no danger!" stated the young girl.
"She can come with me: I promise to look after her as if she was the apple of my eyes !" assured Peter.
"Trust my Papa, Chloe: the last one who dared scared his children is still traumatized by his anger!" affirmed the fallen angel.
"I confirm: he is as scary as God!" nodded Mazikeen.
"If you say so... Okay, let's go: we don't have time to lose!"
Soon after, the team drove to the former industrial site, hoping to prevent another murder.
"I never handle a jinn, so I don' know what to do!" admitted Chloe.
"Me neither, and I don't know Koran!" added Ella.
"Don't worry about the jinn, and focus on Bradford! Lucifer, Mazikeen, and I will take care of the jinn!"
"Are you going to hurt him? What if you hurt the boy instead?" asked Trixie, worried.
"You don't have to worry, Trixie: we'll handle it!" smiled Mazikeen.
A few minutes later, they arrived at their destination. Then, they wandered through the buildings, searching for the jinn.
"Do you see anything?" asked Ella.
"Not yet, but I'm sure we're not far from them!" mumbled Lucifer.
As they progressed, they bumped into Dan.
"Dan? What are you doing here?" whispered Chloe.
"I can ask you the same... And why Trixie is here?"
"Because my dad wanted so, and now, shut up and be useful for once in your stupid life!" snarled Lucifer.
Peter gently patted his shoulder.
"Calm down, son: it's okay! Now, let's go! I feel that they are not far from here!"
The group silently walked until they heard a painful scream.
"Oh, I hope we're not too late!"
"The scream comes from this building! Let's go!" said Chloe.
They came closer to the building and watched through a hole in the wall the remaining scientists, hanged by the arms at a butcher's hook. Circling near them, a tall blonde muscular man held a baseball bat in his hand, while an Arab teenage boy stood in front of them, a stern look on his face.
"We found them! It looks like the jinn wants to play with them before the fatal blow!" uttered Ella.
"We need to intervene before he burns someone else!" rustled Dan as he pulled his gun out of its holder.
"Who do you think you are? John Wayne? Can't you just think before you act, idiot?" snapped Lucifer.
"Shh, low your voice! If they heard us, we're doomed!" whined Trixie.
Meanwhile, the scientists begged for their lives.
"Please, don't kill us! We'll do anything you want!" pleaded a dark-haired man.
"SILENCE! All of you don't deserve my mercy, filthy humans!" growled Yassin with an unusual booming voice.
For sure, this voice did not belong to a fourteen years old young man.
"The power of his voice... It's not a common jinn we deal with: I'm sure it's a jinn-king!" muttered Peter.
"A jinn-king?" asked Dan.
"Yes, I'm afraid so... What is the plan?"
"We'll follow your idea: Dan, Ella, and I, we deal with Bradford. As for you, Mazikeen, and Lucifer, you focus on the jinn!" declared Chloe.
"It's good for me!"
The team split into two groups and prepared to intervene as the jinn was about to slay another victim.
"How could you be so stupid? Didn't you think you could run away from your crimes without facing the consequences?"
"Please, have mercy!" cried his soon-to-be victim.
"You begged me to have mercy? Did you show any compassion for the boy you harmed? None of you ever show commiseration for him!"
Suddenly, he was interrupted by the entrance of the team.
"Nobody move! Time to stop the fire!" ordered Dan as he aimed his gun at Yassin.
The possessed boy gave him an arrogant smile:
"Look who we got here! You must be stupid or too proud to dare to threaten a jinn, Daniel Espinoza!"
"How do you know my name?" asked the latter, confused.
"He is a spiritual being, Dan: it explains how he knows you!" told Mazikeen.
"Indeed, Mazikeen of the Lilim. I see that you don't lose your strength!"
"Do you want a demonstration?"
"No, I'd rather not."
He turned to Lucifer and smirked:
"What a surprise! I do not expect the King of Hell among us tonight! Nice to meet you, Lucifer Morningstar! Or should I say, Samael the Lightbringer? The fallen one?"
"Thank you for revealing my CV, mister King-Jinn! But the manners command to tell us your name!" snickered Lucifer.
"Try to guess!" mocked the jinn.
Peter stepped between his son and the jinn and said:
"I think I know who you are, King-Jinn Murrah Al-Abyad! Or should I say King-Jinn Al-Abyad, the White Demon?"
"Oh, interesting! I certainly did not foresee such prestigious guests!"
"What if you show your true form? I am not comfortable speaking with a possessed child!"
"As you wish!"
In front of the humans' bewildered eyes appeared a handsome brown-haired man. His ivory skin contrasted with his ebony eyes.
He was dressed in a sumptuous Oriental outfit: a dark red sleeveless vest that revealed a toned chest and a pair of crimson pants with embroidered flames. He wore golden bracelets around his wrists and ankles, plus a golden circlet with a shining ruby on his head.
"Undoubtedly, he is a King-Jinn!" muttered Trixie, who was hiding behind Lucifer.
"Indeed, urchin. And he loves to show off!" scoffed the demon.
Meantime, Peter and Al-Abyad talked:
"So, I finally meet God's beloved spouse, Petraeus the Benevolent! I've heard a lot about you, but I admit that I never saw your face until tonight!"
"Do I disappoint your expectations?"
"Not even the slightest. If truth be told, I expect Goddess's successor to be as powerful as she was! That said, no creature anticipates the Almighty falling in love with a man, as it is supposed to be a sin!"
Peter rolled his eyes:
"Thank you, I have noticed! But only humans said that, not my husband! But, you might guess that we're not here to talk about my marriage!"
"I figured it out: you're here to obstruct my punishment against those maggots!"
The celestial spirit nodded.
"I appreciate your concern about them, but you better mind your own business: I am offended, so they have to pay the price!"
"I got it: it was your temple which gets destroyed!" said Chloe.
"You're right, Miss Chloe Decker. But I assure you that I would have done little more than tormenting them if they did not act like cowards!"
The jinn furiously glanced at the scientists who were shivering with fear.
"But no... They wounded a child and made a family suffering because of their greed! You would understand that I cannot let this misdemeanor pass!"
"I understand what you mean, and I agree that they deserve a sentence for their misdeed. But I can't let you kill those humans like that: it's not fair!"
The jinn roared.
"You think THIS is not fair? But I'm doing what your so-called almighty husband should have done earlier instead of being passive. Self-judgment? Ah! What a pathetic excuse he hides behind!"
Trixie walked near the jinn and tried to calm him:
"Mister King-Jinn, I think Peter tries to tell you that there is no need to burn people alive!"
"NO TRIXIE, STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" yelled Dan, but Bradford stood in his way and tried to hit him.
"Back off, you jerk!" yelled Chloe, who kicked the thug in the head, knocking him out.
As for the jinn, his expression softened when he saw the young girl talking to him.
"What do you mean, Beatrix?"
"I mean... You did not need to kill people to punish them. There are different ways. I know you only did that for helping a young boy, and I'm sure your people are grateful to have you as a protector. But please, stop! I promise that my mama would punish them for what they did... And you can count on her for that!"
"My little monkey!" smiled Chloe.
Peter stepped near Trixie and added:
"You know children: they cannot lie."
Al-Abyad sighed.
"I know, but... No one would dare lay their hands on a child without suffering my wrath!"
"I know what you mean. I would be enraged to the core if anyone ever threatens my children. I know we are not linked by blood, but I love them like my own, and I would do anything to punish the culprit who made them miserable! You can ask Astaroth: now, he will think twice before considering attacking Azrael again."
He put his hand on the jinn's shoulder.
"End your crusade of anger, and let us handle this case. I swear they will face justice!"
Al-Abyad stayed silent for a long time, lost in his thoughts: he craved so much making those criminals enduring torments for their negligence. Nevertheless, he knew Petraeus's reputation as a dutiful man, and the jinn knew that if he said anything, he would keep his word.
Sighing, he conceded:
"Fine, you won! I'll let you deal with those pathetic creatures. But you better keep your promise, or I'll come back to finish my work!"
"Don't worry, I save a special spot for them in my kingdom!" sadistically smirked Lucifer, his eyes glowing red.
Satisfied by the answer, the jinn declared:
"Then, I shall go!"
"Wait, mister Al-Abyad!" exclaimed Trixie.
"What is it, Beatrix?"
"What about Yassin? Will he be alright?"
A small smile appeared on the jinn's face.
"Have no fear for him, little one. Yassin would be fine... and that's why I leave him to you: I want him to see that you will help him!"
"Understood."
"Very well. Goodbye, and may fate be kind to you!"
And he disappeared in a cloud of smoke.
"Well, that was an unusual encounter!" sighed Ella.
"Unusual? You mean unbelievable? Damn it, Ella: we met a jinn! A creature that only exists in fairytales!" squealed Dan.
"I'm sure Al-Abyad would be delighted to hear that!" sneered Lucifer.
At the same time, Yassin slowly opened his eyes. Looking at his surroundings, he realized that he was no longer at home and started panicking:
"'ayn 'anaa? limadha 'iinaa huna? 'ayn waliday?" (Where am I? Why am I here? Where are my parents?)
Peter hurried and held the young boy in his arms, one of his hands gently cradling Yassin's head.
"Everything is okay, Yassin. Nobody is going to hurt you, I promise."
The teenager sobbed:
"'amiy ... 'urid 'an 'araa 'ami!" (Mum... I want to see my mother!)
Gently wiping away the tears that rolled down Yassin's cheeks, the celestial spirit soothed the young boy:
"Shh, don't cry. You will see your mother soon. I'll stay here with you, I promise!"
"I am here, too!" added Trixie, who sat near Yassin and held his hand in comfort.
When he saw this scene, it reminded Lucifer of painful memories: he saw himself as a young child, weeping after his mother rejected him for the umptieth time.
He also remembered the warm embrace of Peter, who tried to comfort him. He heard his voice, calm and loving, who repeated that he will always be there for him and he'll always love him.
Coming close to her boyfriend, Chloe asked:
"Are you okay?"
The demon put himself together and said:
"Yes, absolutely."
"You seemed... touched."
Lucifer sighed:
"Maybe because... I remembered why my dad made the right choice, billions of years ago!"
Puzzled, Chloe turned and saw her daughter and Peter, comforting Yassin as paramedics checked on him.
She smiled:
"I see what you mean... Your father is a great person."
"Yes, indeed. My mama is the best man in the universe, and I won't tell otherwise!"
A few days later.
The group was gathered at Chloe's home to celebrate their success. Bradford was put in jail for his collusion in the murders. The remaining teammates of the research group were complied to pay damages to Yassin.
Speaking of the young boy, he flew back to Saudi Arabia, where he was warmly welcomed by his family and many people. He was even received by the royal family!
"It ended well, at least! I'm so happy to get some rest!" smiled Ella, sipping her glass of soda.
"So am I! But I'm sure we would never find out without Peter's help!" added Chloe.
"Don't depreciate your work! You did an amazing job, and I only contributed to help you!" humbly answered Peter.
"You are too cool! And charismatic!" beamed Trixie.
"Thank you, my dear!"
Suddenly, a small ball of light appeared in the room. It flew through the room before stopping in front of Peter. Then, it puts a piece of paper in his hand before disappearing.
"What was that?" asked Dan, utterly amazed.
"Let's see..." muttered Peter, who unfolded the note and read the following message:
Come back to me, my love. I need your presence by my side as huge as your absence makes my heart ache for you. Eternally yours. Your devoted husband.
"It looks like someone misses you!" smirked Mazikeen.
"What can I say? He is lost without me!" laughed Peter.
"Does it mean you have to leave?" pouted Trixie.
"Unfortunately, yes. But I promise to come here as soon as I can!"
He greeted the others goodbye before holding his son:
"Take care of you, my little demon!"
"Don't worry, Papa: I'll be careful!"
As he waved goodbye, the celestial spirit disappeared in a flash of light.
Even if he wished to spend more time with his father, Lucifer knew that Petraeus would come back one day or another. And this day, he would welcome him with open arms, like a good son...
Thank you for the reading!
I hope you liked it!
Can’t wait to see your requests and don’t hesitate to give your opinion (respectfully, please!)
