For any nonhumans struggling with species dysphoria, I want to help you all as much as I can. I've been experiencing it all week. It can be quite exhausting and put you in a lot of distress, in my case. X(

Here are some tips I'd recommend to help:

1. Mimic the diet of your kintype/theriotype. You are a shark? Eat seafood. A dragon? Maybe try to burn some food a little (or turn it black like my own preference if you want). You kin a character from [Insert source]? Try recreating foods/dishes from their world or dimension.

2. Listen to relatable music. I'd recommend making a playlist of any songs that feel species affirming/euphoric, or even echo that dysphoria further, therefore turning it relatable. (Few of my favorites are Bones by Imagine Dragons, Control by Halsey, Ancient Dreams in a Modern Land by MARINA, Momento Mori by Fish in a Birdcage, among other songs that feel therian coded to me).

3. Do vocals. Howling, barking, screeching, or roaring are very relieving if you are in the correct space to do them! If you are in a quite space or do not want to out yourself to anyone, try purring, growling, hissing, or other unnoticeable sounds. You have an object kintype? Mimic the sounds of the object, like beeping, clicking, etc. (I personally make microwave sounds just because it is fun). Recite voice lines of your kintype from the source they are in. Mimic their voice and volume to match.

4. Move and physically act like your kintype/theriotype. Quadrobics, mimic the flapping of wings, walk bidepedally, whatever you do, turn your mannerisms and motion to reflect your kintype/theriotype.

5. Dress like your kintype/theriotype. Is your kintype a character? Cosplay them, or mimic their clothing style, clothing color, hairstyle, etc. If they have tattoos, scars, or patterns on their body, copy them on your physical form with paint or pens. (PLEASE USE NON TOXIC MATERIALS. STUFF SAFE FOR YOUR HUMAN SKIN.) Are you a species of animal(s)? Dress in your species' colors, or, once again, paint or color yourself like it/them. Are you perhaps any other form of creature or object? You can use the same tips as the others, and another idea that works for all is that you can buy costume pieces of your kintype/theriotype. Masks, headbands, just normal clothing in general, the options really are infinite.

6. Express your dysphoria through artwork. I love doing art when I am heavily species dysphoric. Drawing, crafting masks, origami, painting, collages, all are forms of art. If you are skilled in music, then you could even create some songs of your own!

7. Go out and explore nature. This one is mainly targeted towards therians, whose types are grounded on the life on earth rather than other dimensions or universes, but just like the other methods, it can be universally used by any types of nonhumans. Collecting things is my favorite way of exploring nature. Collect rocks, shells, sticks, leaves, bugs, plants, anything that makes you feel more comfortable in your own (unfortunate) physical body. Stay grounded in the world around you and you may find the dysphoria slips away. Hiking and going on short walks can also help, building a den, smelling the scents of the outdoors. All great ideas that I personally recommend.

8. Write about your feelings. Whether you are good at expressing yourself through poetry, you keep a diary/journal, or you can project onto OCs for new backstory lore like I do, writing can truly help with any dysphoria. Not only that, but it is sometimes refreshing to come back later and read about what you were feeling before. It can serve as a great reminder that you are a powerful being and you will always overcome the feelings if you try.

9. Research about your kintype/theriotype. It does not matter if you are an animal, concept, or object from earth, a being from fantasy, or a character from the greatest book or show, you learn something new every day. So why not learn about yourself? Read books or watch animal documentaries of your theriotype(s), same thing for you otherkins and your fantasy species. Fictionkins can look up facts about themself as a character, their book, show, game, etc.

10. Talk and interact with other alterhumans/nonhumans. Remember, we are a community, and while you are experiencing horrible episodes of species dysphoria, there are many other beings going through the exact same thing at the exact same time. So why not talk to them about it? Share your experiences, help eachother cope, you may even connect with more individuals that way, building more relationships with others and meeting new beings.

11. Past life meditation. If you are a nonhuman who has a past life/lives, you may find comfort in meditation, where you can truly tap into what you once were, and still are in this life as well. Look to the forgotten, and turn in to remembered. Open up your past and live over again.

12. Listen to sounds. Nature sounds, voices of other characters you know from your world, vocals or sound effects of your kintype. These are all good options to turn to if you want to feel at ease with yourself.

13. Let your emotions out. Sometimes this is all you really need to do when species dysphoria hits hard. Cry, bite things, claw at pillows, LET IT OUT. There is absolutely no problem in being yourself and expressing your heavy emotions in your own, unique, nonhuman way. You may find you feel much better after.

I've always seen Helluva boss as a show that try so hard to be something isn't, and after reading your articles about BoJack horseman and how hb directly borrowed some of its ideas . It's started to make sense so here's my take:

Helluva boss can't be BoJack or anti-BoJack , there is room for inspiration sure . But the difference between two shows make it odd whenever someone try to compare them. Since BoJack is story of American man who happened to have a horse head, therefore the protagonist is forced to obey the morality rules that we as audience have . Helluva boss is story of demons live in society that only value violence , the rules of morality is broken in this world so where it makes sense for the show to calls out BoJack's toxic dating patterns, why should i care for blitzø's that man cannonly makes fun of children deaths of cours he's not a good partner. Another thing that BH like other many adults cartoon is critical of American culture (Hollywood culture for BoJack case) and while HB trying to do the same it only water down its world , you can point out to something relatable to our society without loosing the fantasy elements in your world especially if your otherworldly character travel to the human world constantly and see it from stranger point of view, but hb didn't do that it just turned the hell to american , and maybe this is thing bugs only me as non-western . It would be more entertaining if we explore the hellish society as something new and fresh.

But even if we want BoJack-like show the writer clearly don't know why BoJack works but I don't need to tell you since you already wrote about that, I remember watching a clip of livestream where medrano admit she blind-love her favourite media without critical thinking and I think this is her biggest weakness, she's the kind of person who would see something cool in TV so she applies it to her OCs without a further thinking which explains the directe reference of others show like BH

These are excellent points. There's a saying in writing that goes "Write what you know". The team who wrote Bojack knew the ins and outs of that Hollywood bubble due to professional experiences. And because Bojack was written by a diverse team of creative people, they even addressed how eating meat would work in a universe with sentient animals. They had the experience and knowledge of setting as well as basic life experience to ask obvious questions in the name of world building.

It's why I argue that Medrano appears to be someone with very few life experiences. Not only does her story lack emotional depth, having a shallow well to draw from, but basic rules of world building are neglected in a way that is very obvious due to a lack of human curiosity.

Writing what you know isn't supposed to be limiting. Instead it's supposed to challenge you to ask more questions. Expand what you know to incorporate it into your imagination.

Hi, I'm very new to this blog, so I don't really know your OCs. I found you because of "Cuntress HIM" lol, my current hyperfixation.

I do have a question, though ; how would your characters (any of your choice) react to noticing an artistic s/o drawing them ?

Howdy! 👋 Glad you liked Cuntress Him, I had fun drawing it.

From all of my characters, the monsters who would enjoy an artist the most are Shags, Vinnel, Vesper, Mervin, Krulu and Vorago.

Shags would all but wheeze in excitement, the possibility of collaborations between the two of you sending him over the moon. Just the thought of a piece made by both your hands has him swooning. Why didn't you reveal this to him sooner? How could he not have seen the artist in you?

Vinnel's art is the more practical type. The most painting he does is usually mask work and small details to obfuscate solutions to puzzles. He'd definitely enjoy using some of your art as decorations for the escape floors. Not to mention decorations in his own room. Can you work with dolls? Sometimes he enjoys making rather gruesome modifications to them.

Vesper, well... You know the type of art he'd want, don't you? And while the King won't insist too much if it makes you uncomfortable, he'd be sad if you refused to draw some raunchy things. Art is still work, he'd reward you handsomely for your efforts and cherish these pieces more than the celebrity artist commissions he's acquired.

Mervin will just wax poetic about your "creative soul", maybe carry some of your best works with him just so he can show off how talented and superior his partner is. He especially loves it if you draw him, sketches of him will be stolen if it feels like you're not going to finish them. You love him so much you make tributes to him, and Mervin feels his ego deserves that.

Krulu is an artist as well. Now, naturally, let's not compare the art of a jaded siadar to the art of a human, but he appreciates your vision for creative endeavors. He has the added perk of being able to analyze your art emotionally, interpreting the feelings you pour when making it. He's selfish, wanting to keep it all for himself. No one else deserves to see it.

Vorago is a writer. Two things that go exceptionally well together is a story and illustration. He can barely hide his excitement at the thought of commissioning you for art of his favorite passages in his stories. Can barely wait to add a whole new flair to his writing. Maybe he can even write based on your drawings! The ideas swirling in his head make the prince sway happily. It's so nice to have a talented partner.

sketches of timkon clone child, i have been designing my own oc child for them n tried to settle for a more serious/blank look , has kon’s hair but less curly, and fixed the eye colour (when i first made my timkon work, i didn’t get tim’s eye colour right but !! when i finish my digital work, it would be more apparent)

taking name suggestions ? im relatively bad w naming characters 😭

but in the meantime some headcanons for oc timkon clone child:

- looks more like kon externally (being tim’s attempts to clone kon initially) but does have tim’s eye colour is something im really fixed on because before kon comes back, it’s like a manifestation of tim’s guilt to have this almost kon like toddler but it’s so confidently tim’s eyes

- when tim brings back bruce, he does hide timkon clone child (again guilt + doesn’t really want the family to know how far he spiralled), but timkon clone child does get dressed rather generically (whatever was available) BUT when tim finally reveals his toddler, it’s like costume day everyday for timkon clone baby

- timkon clone baby deserves a robin (tim/steph era) pjs, it comes w a black and yellow cape that trails behind him as he toddles

- i went for a more blank look but i think it’s like generic deadpan face when he is focused! clone baby wasn’t really exposed to much and tries to mimic his main parent at the time.

- over time w exposure to kon, batfamily etc he gets to look more emotional w expressive eyebrows but generally goes back to it, his eyes r like built like this, he can’t help it (he is just spacing out).

- i will probably draw the first time he meets kon !! his eyes go O-O

- generally quiet baby, and grows to have an eccentric personality

i am both dreading and super excited for the last episode of mp100 that’s coming soon, obviously i’ll be sticking around longer, making fanart, reading fics and i definitely wanna collect and read the manga too! ✨

now please excuse me as i ramble a bit about the series before the ep drops :’]

starting this anime was eye opening for me, as an artist and a teeneger.

Artistically i never saw such unique style and animation before, sure i watched plenty of anime but Mob Psycho 100 was special, it made everything look so fun and interesting. the characters expressions always on point and movement so fluid, don’t me started on the gorgeous action sequences and camera shots, Mp100 made me love animation and art so much more.

On the sappier side of things, i recently turned 18 and now i’m watching the anime end- it’s bittersweet but i feel so lucky to have seen this show as it came out, i feel like i grew alongside the characters, especially Mob! this anime taught me things, about moving forward, expressing myself and what it means to be a good person.

This last season made me feel like i have so much more ahead of me and reassured me about things, especially with the first episode being about career paths. i’ve always been the type to go with the flow but sometimes i wonder if i made detrimental mistake with my previous choices or i’m gonna make one eventually, that i am already doomed before i even started- but seeing that episode as the start of the last season reassured me immensely and i am grateful for that.

Character wise? god i love the entire cast sm and i love seeing characters no matter how small role they played appear again on the side, like the couple from the first episode of season 1- not only that but they all feel human and not like one off stereotypes, the show is also funny but doesn’t hold back the punches when it gets serious.

I grew so fond Mob and Reigen, Ritsu and Teru, Dimple and Serizawa, Mezato, Emi, the Body Improvement Club/Telepathy Club, Former Claw Members, Shou and Suzuki- all of their character development and storylines, hell i can’t think of a character i hate truly, not even Mogami impressively.

i’ll stop for now because i’ll never shut up otherwise pfft- this season is another rollercoaster of emotions and i can’t wait to see the view at the top ya know? i’m gonna continue enjoying Mp100 even as the anime ends, and i hope to get to know more people who love this series as much as i do, you guys are great ^^
