i’ve been thinking about the pokémon memes where it’s like playing off of that one quote that’s like ‘truly strong trainers should try to win using their favorites’ and it’s like ‘ok well my favorite is [something blatantly overpowered]’ and it’s got me curious. how many people genuinely love pokémon that also happen to be really strong competitively?

something i wish i'd see more in trigun fanarts is people having vash speak their native/non-english languages completely unprompted, ive seen folks have him speak french, which he canonically knows, but i really do believe he's a polyglot. mostly because of that one time in the desert when he saw the samurai and wanted to greet him in japanese but struggled to remember how to even say hello.

my headcanon is that rem had them learn as many languages as possible but with the big fall and so many people dying, which i think is what led english to became No man's land main (or even only?) language, means that vash (and knives!) both got horribly out of practice and are various sort of rusty in every others languages.

I think i just need to express that the culture surrounding QPRs right now made me think that i couldn't have strong bonds with my friends. Society told me i cant have strong bonds with friends because that was only for romantic relationships. Then i went into aro spaces and this idea was reinforced using QPRs instead of romantic relationships. it was "You can still have strong bonds with people without romance! It can just be a QPR instead!" "QPRs are MORE than friendship so you can have STRONGER BONDS than you would with friends."

it made me think that the relationships i wanted with my friends HAD to be something other than friendship for it to be as strong as i wanted. If i wanted to be the first person in someones life i had to enter some sort of committed relationship. if I wanted someone to care about me as strongly as i did them then it would have to be a relationship that was "more" than friendship.

I thought I wanted a QPR because i was told the only way to get that care and security that I wanted was to enter into a relationship that was "more" than friendship. because friends didn't care that much. because friends didn't live together their entire lives. because friends were never the priority relationship wise. and it took me years to realize that i didn't want any partnership and i shouldn't have to be in one to want these things from a friend. these things CAN be something friends can do. but i found that out on my own. because the aro community kept saying "you want a QPR" when i just wanted a friend who finally saw me as a priority in their life.

So. Apparently halfas are like phoenixes or something, which Danny would’ve really liked to know. 

See, usually with ghosts if they’re forced to retreat to their cores they reform as was, but apparently, since they’re still partially living, schrodinger's people and all that, halfas have to regrow their body from scratch. At least that’s what he’s understanding from Frostbite. 

But how come he has to deal with it? It’s Dan’s fault for trying to pull such a stunt! Oh, it’s either him or Vlad? Well fuck, he might have calmed down and is going to therapy in both the living realm and the Zone, but he’s waaay not equipped to raise a child except for like, monetarily wise. 

Well dammit, how long will this core incubation thing last, he has his new job in… let him check which offer he accepted again… He has his new job in Coast City that he needs to finish packing for and then all the rest of the stuff to do. 

What do you mean it’ll take months?! He doesn’t have months?! Urgh, fine. At least being a mortician isn’t that exciting, nor dangerous. something that fascinates me about kuri and aubrey is the fact that aubrey quit various substances for her but not because she asked- and honestly that makes him a more powerful character to me as well as more realistic of a depiction of an addict. to quit something you have to be the one making the choice and kuri isnt the one asking(as far as i know- im basing this off of her saying "why not just a little cocaine?" in that one comic LMFAO), instead its aubrey realizing he wants to start caring about his life more because of his love for this weird girl thats been in his house. His family tried to get him to quit and he couldnt but then this weird damn thing shows up and hes like fuck ok i gotta clean myself up i guess. I just appreciate the autonomy he has over his addiction and how its his own choice. i didnt actually mean for this ask to be sent on child star day, but since thats the case i will say Child Star is a massively inspiring project and incredible. have a good day :)

i think without kuri he would still be able to get clean and sober at the same pace but his issue would be not having a better reason to Stay sober and would likely go through cycles of relapsing for the rest of his life. by the time theyre living together and getting closer hes clean from drugs but still drinking really hard, but accidentally leaving kuri home alone for days at a time (who cant feed herself) and forgetting to check in on her would be the only thing Bad enough to make him feel guilty about his drinking habits. now if only we can get him to give up his Final Vice of Smoking

It's just such a thing in my mind because it adds a truthful sadness and differing aspect to mouthwashing.

If Curly was trans it adds the horror of the horribly selfish thought he could have easily been in Anya's situation. It could've been him but it wasn't and he so conflicted on the pit it put in his stomach that brings and the shameful relief it wasn't. In this scenario he is friends with Jimmy for a long time still. Jimmy likely knew him pretransition. Maybe he gave Curly weird looks then, maybe they never stopped after, maybe they seemed meaner. They are guys now, bros, both of them are. He doesn't really have to worry what those looks mean anymore, Jimmy just has that face with him sometimes. It's recontextualizing a lot of things for him that he was in denial about or too ashamed to admit. How naive he was being and how he let that get another person hurt.

Specifically with Anya, it's he knows the dread and fear she's feeling. He can understand it because he had to live with it for a good portion of his life, he knows it cause he still does, just in a slightly different way. It makes him think of all the times he's been alone with Jimmy, all the times he's been way more drunk off his ass and not remember the night, Jimmy was always with him the next day. Makes him think of the comments he would laugh off both because that's what guys do but because that part of being a girl says to laugh so Jimmy doesn't do something. It's the selfish realization that he was never safe and he's uncertain now too. Mad at himself for forgeting that feeling, espcially since for a long time he would've been considered the only woman on a crew (with all that implies) for a long time.

He should've taken those blinders off, step back into that position for just a moment and it's so much more painful that Anya likely came to him because he should've gotten it. Those thoughts don't leave his mind after the crash when he's in an even more vulnerable position than she was...

is interesting to me when I see how popular it is for ppl who like jealousy or possessiveness in romance, the enjoyable moment for them is that thing where the more, I guess, dominant love interest says something like "you're mine. if anyone touches you I'll kill them." and then goes all alpha wolf on anyone who looks at his SO or whatever.

because the way I enjoy jealousy in romance is when one of the characters is absolutely jealous but they just stew in it. They don't do anything, they just torture themselves with it. And it makes them mean for reasons they can’t explain because then they’d have to admit they’re jealous which is admitting that the other person holds some kinda power over their emotions. I want them to feel bad. It's good sport when two characters I wanna see bang make each other kinda miserable for a while. Hey why are there 6 S's in the word possessiveness.
