the thing that fucks me up about zosopp is that while Zoro gets more serious and jokes around less as the series goes on, Usopp is still a little jokester. He still tells stories and plays with Luffy and Chopper- he knows when to get serious, but he also knows when to have fun.

And I bet it eats him up inside, seeing the man he loves slowly lock that part of himself away for the sake of being a strong and unwavering presence for the crew. How Zoro is constantly burdened with thoughts of how to keep the crew alive- how to best train to keep his crew alive. How he doesn't leave room for much else.

He makes room for Usopp though. For their crew- their family. And Usopp vows (hopes) to force him to make room for fun, too.

Orym told derrig he didn't know why he didn't come see him last time he was home. That is a fucking lie. He knows exactly why.

He couldn't bring Dorian to his father and husband's graves.

Which. Is fine I guess. Grief is a bitch and not linear. But I'm going to write a fucking thesis on Orym and his inability to face the truly fucking hard stuff in his life.

Because sure. Being a widower and mourning your husband is super fucking hard. Especially when it came at the same time as the only home you've ever known no longer feeling safe. FINE. That is incredibly hard.

BUT. Orym will barely let himself admit that he has feelings for Dorian let alone navigate what it means to love again.

Orym feels such immense guilt about Will's death that he considers moving on to be the biggest betrayal. That survivors guilt combined with him swearing to put an end to the people that took Will from him truly stops Orym from actually feeling his feelings about even the idea of loving again. He can't process loving again because he feels like it's unfinished business. That he hasn't earned love again.

Which is bullshit you dumb little halfling man.

Then, holding love in your heart for your first love and spouse while finding yourself developing feelings for another is a hard thing to juggle. So he doesn't. Which only leads to feeling worse when he remembers Will.

If Orym really sat down and thought about how Will would feel about him moving on, he would probably come to the conclusion that Will would not want Orym to live his life alone for his sake. I feel like Will is the type to say "it is very sweet that you want to only love me. But you're not proving anything by not loving someone else"

Because Orym might want to be that guy? He always thought he would be? He was a widower. He loved Will with everything he had. He was not going to stray. He wasn't going to betray him like that.

But falling in love is messy. He couldn't help himself falling in love the first time. And he shouldn't punish himself for falling in love the second time. Because he couldn't help it. Suddenly he was just. In love.

And Dorian knows about Will. Dorian knows how much Will meant to Orym. He'd never make Orym get a cover up tattoo or stop seeing Will or tell him to never talk about him. Dorian understands that Orym will always love Will. He just hopes Orym might love him also.

If Orym was better at his feelings, if he was better at facing the hard shit in his life, he would have taken Dorian to see his father and Will. They would have mourned together. Dorian would have said hello like Fearne did. He might have left a stone or praised Orym. And Orym would have been able to see his two worlds together. He would be able to reconcile his past and future and anything in between.

zomg... the girls! Sketched out! And a few characters I never showed designs for! haha! I keep thinking about the beach, so this is their swimwear.

I hope to make a full fledged drawing for all of them soon~ then the guys~~

Some newbies are: Aura (blue!) Katya (Gold!) and more of Verra (Green!) We'll eventually see more about them as I draw more things and doodles.

#Because I realized I never drew the girls as much as I did the guys #I used to exclusively draw women until I figured out how to draw men... I then awoke drawing nudethaniel and speedo vincent #so we're reeling it back a little #Ryoko Kui said she draws her oc's outfits in modern times to see how the different characters would dress. I thought about it- it definitel #says a lot about your character!#Monica is REALLY tall. And muscular! with a strong ability! no wonder she's taken down armies! She doesn't care to swim much but will use #a rashguard to swim in.#Sera is copying her style a bit but thankfully owns an actual wetsuit. Feels like home considering how her aerodynamic armor is designed #Sonia is sonia. She seductively asks Vincent to help her put sunscreen on... Only to be met with an albinoid man's journey to sun poisoning #He eventually gets greased in sunscreen and aloe vera after what feels like hours of nagging him. (it was forty five minutes.) Sorry Sonia.#Some things cannot be changed. When he did eventually look at her body he laughed at her ass being out rather than think anything naughty.#Not girl Summer. Vincent did end up helping her with the sunscreen though. “Lmao you can't do this yourself or something?” ruined the magic #Karin tailored her swimwear. She bedazzles her arms with accessories <3 Her nail polish can detect drugs <3 & cyanide caps in her earring <#Poor Katya is a supermodel but is way too thin... Strohl doesn't say it.. But he's worried. She makes way too much money to want to quit.#Verra is in rabbit mode because her summon LOVES to swim and hey who is she to halt its fun?#Aura is pretty modest and prefers to meditate in the water or by the shore away from all of the roughhousing. Nate and Strohl join at time #They kind of freak out when she starts floating though. Or invoking the elementals of the seas. The guys are both areligious. Awkward.#Especially when the waves start to get a little rowdy minutes later. Strohl is torn between considering religion and asking for a tutorial.#ark_systema

just a few little bits from the past few days

#both the word count screenshots are from the same day - just different sections of the text. so that was like 4000 words in #one DAY.. huzzah!! (< making up for the fact that I did 0 words the 3 days before that lol.. so its not actually an accomplishment ghjjh)#In renpy I think you can have multiple separate texty cody whatever documents and still jump between them so long as they;re #labeled properly. Rather than like... having one extremely long 60.000 line file where in some places youre in a menu within a menu #within a menu within a menu within a menu within a menu within a menu jhbhj #But that was the way I started doing it lke 5 years ago when I actually made the base of everything so I feel like it'd be too much #work to change it all that dramatically now. But that means I cant just get the word count for the whole document I just have #to jump around to the few sections I worked on and highlight them to get the word count for only that portion #.. the one tiny fraction of the whole monster text wall. #summer camp tag #ace is a mess #i do not have a drivers license and i havent even been behind the wheel in like 4 years since i stopped lessons cus of the pandemic #the day was going fine i got loads done didnt feel like i was irritating my director too bad #doing some paperwork for her and she says when im done well take the golf cart out while its not currently raining #im like ooh fun never been in a golf cart before i see the higher up staff in them im not gonna say no to chilling in a golf cart #i did not realise that meant i would be driving esp when she asked if id been in one before and i said no #she then asked if i could drive and i said not really thought that would be it #cus i was supposed to be studying for my theory before working towards my practical #but no she insists im driving and first off i gotta reverse outta this bay now at least i didnt have to think about gears #but i hate tryna figure out how to turn whilst in reverse in mess with my brain im not great with shape visualisation #we do all our stops its fine for the most part a lil too fast going down some of the hills #and some tight turns but my turns were always like that cus im too busy focusing on the most immediate thing #we get back i park fine and then shes like oh actually there are some more stops we can make so i reverse and turn back out #do our two stops with only minimal confusion about direction then as i go to park into the bay we came from #shes like oh actually park in the bay closest to the health centre and what i should have done was reversed and adjusted my angle #instead i drove directly into the supporting beam separating the two bays 🙃😭#i immediately turn the cart off and expect her to switch with me instead shes like laughing it off oh it was just a little bump it was fine #im like it was not that was a loud ass bang i feel so bad and then she lifts up the light cover i broke off saying its just a scratch #and i feel worse so pf course thats when the camp director comes out to check on the noise and i dont think ive ever worn a guiltier look #but theyre both laughing it off oh just having a little driving lesson :) and i am mortified #she gets back in the cart and shes still insisting that its fine and i should still park after that which i do with great trepidation #but there are no more problems and the lights still work but the cover does need fixing and i just oh my god #ive never crashed before never clipped or scratched a car so of course id crash the golf cart trying to park of all things 😭
