I said it before and I'll say it again: I love how effortless Tay can read Kinn, how easy he can push him in the direction he chooses.

Korn holds this whole metaphoric speech about apples and dull knives and even brings props to get Kinn back in line.

And what happens?

Along comes Tay, takes one look at Kinn, drops a few words of easy wisdom…and all of Korn’s eloquent efforts are for naught.

Ohhh, Tay is dangerous indeed. Because he has a brain, but he also has a heart, and he knows how to use both of them (on Kinn).

(And let me repeat myself once more: wouldn’t that be a delicious thing - Korn seeing the true danger of Tay for the first time? And being forced to...do something about that? Or at least consider doing something about it? Weighing Tay's influence on Kinn against the influence of Tay's family? Just something to consider.)

Some friends of mine play their own music while playing games and mute the game's music. For some reason, that has always really fucking annoyed me, and that's been bothering me.

Like, it's not even that they listen to it a bit and decide they don't like it; to this part of my brain, I would respect that. Instead, they simply have no opinion of the game's music because the automatically turn it off and listen to their own stuff, which just makes me furious.

I think it has to do with the fact that video game music had a huge impact on my childhood, both because of nostalgia and more importantly, it has shaped who I am today. Undertale's music was so good that it completely changed the way I listened to music (and is the reason I started pirating music when I was younger), and it introduced me to all the other video game OSTs that changed my life and made me who I am today. Beforehand, I would only listen to Christian music and Halo music once in a while for nostalgia. And it feels like someone just refusing to engage with a game's soundtrack at all is indirectly spitting in my face because of that.

But who am I to judge how others engage with their music? I had my own journey with music and it is obviously going to be different from the journies of my friends. They are not stomping on my passions or belittling me for my music choices or anything like that, so I don't have any good reason to be mad at my friends for simply enjoying music in a different way than I do. I have other friends who are listening to music constantly, even during conversation, whereas I'm someone who listens to music to shut out conversation and the world, yet it doesn't bother me if I see a friend listening to music while we're talking... most of the time. I think. I dunno, I haven't really dug into that area. But, I'm not mad at that kind of thing, so I shouldn't be mad when my friends choose to not listen to the video game soundtracks I enjoy.

That's what I tell myself, anyways. I often try to quell these emotions whenever they flare up with this kind of logic and it doesn't really work. I don't enjoy being mad and I wish it wasn't so easy for me to be mad at something this petty.
