Sometimes I feel like with AI I’m witnessing the death of the artist. There’s been a lot of debate of what true art is with these AI. The artist who showed me this told me they could see the AIs mistake but I admit that I don’t really see any that would make me not want to pay for this piece. I keep getting the message that the AIs aren’t perfect but do I have to be more perfect than a robot to get work?
Creatives get less and less feedback and more and more people are turning to AI as they get more sophisticated. As someone who wants to be a professional one day it makes me wonder. Is art even going to be a viable career ten years from now? Are we going to have corporate AI produced TV shows with AI produced marketing ads. I have already seen the core messages get stripped from the DA franschise with each release of the game. Inquisition was made to please as many people as possible and so it became this watered down version of what I know dragon age to be. Corporations have been trying to take the soul out of art forever and finally they did.
I feel like creatives are going to have to go underground. That people will only pay for artists work for the prestige of it, That people are always going to be even more demanding and even less appreciative of the artists who go through the years of dedicated training to master their craft.
It took me about 25 years to do what an AI can do in a second. That scares me as someone who wants to truly be a professional one day. Is this just a dream now? Will only the connected and popular have the chance to make it?
#i have never been popular#or well connected#i'm autistic so that makes me honest#i'm bipolar so that makes me mouthy and have a low tolerance for people's bullshit#I've been in the dragon age fandom for like eight years I think?? and I feel more invisible than ever#as my art continues to get less feedback every post#it depresses me that I have to go to reddit to get attention#i really don't enjoy reddit#the voting system makes me anxious#god tumblr don't add that feature

Rehab was pretty hit or miss - I met some great people, but the program was very 12 Steps oriented, and I'm more convinced than ever that the 12 Steps is a cult that leads its members to an early death. On the other hand, changing my medication totally killed my desire to drink as did the conviction that I do not want anything to do with the world of recovery
#for some people recovery is their whole life#everyone there had been to every single rehab in the area and even to that one multiple times#and they keep relapsing worse and worse every time and then the program blames and shames them and tells them they're just doing it wrong#and eventually they die. every day they'd tell us one or more former clients just died#groups were too often full of scientific misinformation and led by people who don't know what they're talking about#and I didn't realize this but the format of a 12 step meeting is you say a bunch of prayers someone shares their story there's comment time#and then more prayers#and while I enjoy hearing the stories it's like this could have been a reddit post#but I watched The Big Lebowski for the first time and I read a really good French book called The Elegance of the Hedgehog#I might try a Refuge Recovery meeting. that's a Buddhist program that I think is similar to Dharma Recovery#also I got re-addicted to cigarettes bc smoking is the primary social activity in any rehab. so now I have to quit again#also I think Jeff Bridges looks like Arthur Morgan

cohost is shutting down. i am very, very, very sad about it.
It's been a long time since tumblr felt like my online "home" the way it used to. Cohost wasn't just my favourite tumblr alternative, but my favourite place to hang out online, End Of. I'll miss it a lot.
Because it's shutting down, I've made my new personal website public early! You can see pretty much all the various places I post - some more active than others. I'll add more stuff eventually, but right now, this is what you get. You can find it at Lostwood.art ! (it's best viewed on desktop, but Should work on mobile.)
RIP cohost. RIP eggbug. I will miss u
#lostwood.txt#rip cohost#i am being very civil here for someone who is genuinely miserable#I am not enjoying social media at All at this point.#Tumblr feels like shouting into an uncaring void but with the knowledge that the moderation is wildly transphobic#i hate twitter clones. don't even try to point me in the direction of twitter clones because i hated twitter! It made my skin Crawl!#the clones are just Worse Twitter!#pillowfort is like worse reddit??? and doesn't sound like it's doing too well funding wise either#i dunno where to go or what to do but fuck man. i'll really miss cohost

Tumblr's recent ai scraping posts and admitting that they'll partner with programs to scrape users, manually having to opt out of it on each individual blog just to try to dodge it, and general woes have really put a damper on how much I want to draw and share. Easy to feel hopeless in these times right with just about everything happening in and around the world but I settled that I'll still share things here for the time being and until tumblr really becomes completely unwelcome to artists.
#not art#text#been just so defeated by it all lately and my will to draw and share it with others has tanked significantly#I just want to meet others who love the things I do and to make meaningful art of things I enjoy#as opposed to having everything I've ever done scraped by someone on the internet who hates artists and wants a shitty generative image#if you really want to put yourself down (I don't recommend it) go to a pro generative ai reddit and see how much they actually hate artists#It's insane over there how they can talk about art and artists like its trash and yet they cling and defend to what they're doing so much#want to use and abuse us but don't want us to stop yet won't respect us? wack#anyhow if you've gotten this far reading me ramble I hope you are living well and surviving these times#the world is suffering right now and my little art troubles are nothing compared to the magnitude of human suffering happening#but we must keep going

imagine if someone said this shit about any other group of human beings lol some people are this website are actually sociopathic. of course parents should stop their kids from doing this but why the fuck are you blaming the kid for their natural curiosity? most people tried doing this as children
#i did this and im definitely not a fucking rapist. why the fuck would you say this#kids are the most vulnerable group in society. stop talking about them like this#if you don't enjoy children's company that's fine but there's no excuse to speak of them so cruelly#they're little people with undeveloped brains still trying to figure out how the world works#imagine if someone said this about a highly disabled person who has the impulse control of a child lol all hell would break loose#but somehow it's okay to say about an actual child. wtf#i still remember being so hurt as a kid by people who didn't hide their disdain for children#and child hate seems to be getting even more common now. i don't want my son experiencing this shame inducing shit#i make sure he's well behaved and doesn't bother people but sometimes he tries to do stuff that's natural for a kid#and he shouldn't be made to feel like theirs something wrong with him when he's still learning#*there's#treating kids like this when what they need is guidance and gentle discipline to teach them the ways of the world#is what creates fearful and shame filled adults#again there's nothing wrong with not wanting kids or not enjoying their company but blatant hate is fucked up#children are just as human as any other vulnerable group#i really hope this person is just a 15 year old edgelord. i see way too many adults like this tho#especially on reddit lmao that website is such a cesspool

God some people are just miserable. Can't people just enjoy something for the sake of enjoying it?
#meg is rambling#sorry it's just something that has been really fucking irking me off whenever I load up some websites#just because YOU don't like a thing doesn't mean that everyone else has to dislike it? ffs#I've had to leave the dragon age subreddit because of it and sorry I'm just feeling real pissed off that people aren't being left be#I'm enjoying veilguard so much. but I'm not blind to some of the flaws. I'm still having fun. we can't all be woe is me?!#sorry. needed to get this rant off my chest. gahhhh.#maybe i just need to step away from reddit for a bit like I have done twitter. only use that for public transport updates now....#or maybe reddit is just having fun recommending inflammatory posts to me :/

man if tumblr goes under there's like. no good sites left. where else are we gonna go? i've basically stopped using reddit, and i don't wanna go to facebook. if the alternative is twitter then i think i'm just gonna go internet dark. finally i'll be free
#i guess i could go back onto reddit if i really had to but i wouldn't enjoy it very much#there's fandom? but i think fandom is also implementing ai and might be scraping user writings someday. so idk man#i wouldn't have it as my last connection to my friends.#i don't have discord but i'm stuck online enough. i think if i downloaded discord i'd be trapped#oh yeah i forgot instagram and snapchat exist. but frankly those don't seem appealing either#there really aren't any other sites that have tumblr's vibe and anonymity#this is all hypothetical btw. things might suck right now but i don't think tumblr's going under yet

I think up until this point, I haven't gotten a response from anyone who's come out or got outed for being aro to their family. I'm really glad that you've found some level of acceptance from your family. However I will say, getting outed without your consent was not okay at all, even if the result wasn't the worst. Still glad to see you've come out on the other end alright!
I also really appreciate your thoroughness and specificity too! I did some extra digging into 知音 as a word (as usual I struggled to translate the word to my localized dialect of Cantonese) and it sounds like a great term <<2 I'm personally a big fan of all the Chinese words that refer to "best friend" or "good friend" (I don't know why exactly yet, but it hits different to me in Chinese).
It makes me really happy to hear stories from Chinese people that don't have big looming family trauma, since it's seems kinda common (with many Asian cultures in general).
You're absolutely right about Chinese culture not giving a crap about romance. And quite honestly, I'd argue it's not an exclusively Chinese culture thing, even if it takes on a legible form when observe Chinese experiences. It's kinda easy to mix up wanting to get married with wanting romance. It's not that hard to append "romantic love" to the other reasons for marriage because it's so amorphous and impossible to define (yet easy to idealize). I'd say that culturally, we're seeing romance as a concept take root in many places, including China. I have mixed feelings about this stuff as an aro. On one hand, I hate love applied universally as a "must." On the other, it's nice that people want to get married because they have feelings for each other instead of marriage as duty to your family.
The Reddit thread has some really good insights that I'm somewhat nitpicky about, but I second reading it! I am mostly nitpicky about the way the OP reports some claims with too much certainty, but their thoughts are worthwhile.
As for some of my thoughts after reflecting—it might be a little controversial for me to say, but we cannot really separate action from "romantic attraction." Not in practice. Romantic attraction as a purely subjective concept unadulterated by love gestures/actions mediated by culture just...doesn't exist. "Aromanticism" then, emerges differently where "romantic attraction" and "love" emerge differently. (In other words, "love" as a concept varies by culture, "romantic attraction" is interpreted by different cultures differently, so our neat definition of aromantic gets fucked up when we take it outside of the Western context.)
If anyone is interested, I found a paper that discusses how other cultures adapt "love," and it's centered around Gujarati Indians in the UK and India. The article is more optimistic than I am about "the globalization of love," but I think it's informative.
i’d like to read about non-white aro experiences (as well as experiences of aro people from outside the US and UK). i don’t think there are enough explicitly non-white conversations about aromanticism. i remember seeing a demographic poll a long time ago, with a majority of aromantic tumblr identifying as white, but non-white aros exist!
i want to hear from people who can’t/won’t come out because of cultural expectations or language barriers. people who use different words to describe their aromanticism. people who experience isolation from the aro community because they aren’t white (enough). i want to hear about aromanticism from new angles!
of course, no one is ever obligated to reveal their ethnicity or race online. but if anyone has seen writing on diverse aro experiences or if they want to share their own experiences, i’d like to read about other perspectives! (pls send stuff my way)
#i've been trying very hard not to go full analysis mode because i wanted my notes to be a collection of other people's thoughts#but i wanted to respond to the contents of the reddit article#hope you don't mind#and i hope what i said made sense#sometimes i write stuff really late at night and it becomes incomprehensible during the day#thank you again for your response!! i enjoyed reading it#long post

AO3 / ff.net + Artstation 'concept artist' scam
FYI, I personally know two people who got scam comments from the same AO3 account today alone. They were very similar to the ff.net comments in this reddit post, and go something like:
As a concept artist, I really enjoyed your story! The characters were compelling, and the plot kept me engaged from start to finish. Your writing has so much depth, and I could really envision the world you’ve created. While reading, I got some ideas for potential artwork to bring your characters or key scenes to life. I’d love to chat more about a possible collaboration if you’re interested
The main difference between this and a previous wave of similar comments is that this is from a logged-in account as opposed to a guest.
I can't send a support ticket because I haven't gotten any comments from this particular account. Obviously, AO3 volunteers don't need to be flooded with more support tickets right now, anyway, and I'm sure other people have already reported this user. But do yourself a favor and just block Evelynaddison92 on AO3 like I'm about to. The account is 100% a scammer, and there are certainly more accounts like this on AO3, but that's the only one I know of atm.

I try to live in a world where I don't yuck people's yums even if I don't care for a show. Also I find that if I am going to talk about something in the drama space, it usually has to do with singular actors and proven controversies that show their true colours.
For example on dramas: Not the biggest fan of DFF. And it's not because of petty things it has to do with how the show itself went. I liked maybe 2 episodes in the entire show. Ok more like 1.5 episodes in the entire show. But really even if someone doesn't like something, doesn't mean it's not someone else's gold. There are themes I can say that DFF covers that should be covered in media. I know what it feels like to be on MDL (especially via Thai BL) and read negative comments. I was deterred from some dramas I actually thought I'd vibe with until I came to Tumblr and enjoyed the gifsets and went from there to watch them. Shows like: Manner of Death, A Tale of a Thousand Stars, Ai Long Nhai and LITA. I think people should buffer in their tags when something is a critique. But the algorithm would still share them. I like seeing hot takes and critiques though! Like what went wrong, how it could have worked better in such a ways and such but as long as it doesn't take up the main sphere of the fandom. But yeah negative hate comments get hefty. I know some of the Two Worlds negative comments really infuriated me. Like putting down Nat for being young when he's acted longer than some of the older (in actor's age not in duration of partnerships) couples. Also people being blind to MaxNat's natural chemistry. (Who have consistently made me, a married demisexual woman, blush). Or like the comments on 1000 Years Old in general, I found Tumblr was a safer place than Youtube or MDL for that specific drama. (I LOVE 1000 Years Old). I realized the same thing you did, and I loved Love Sea's first episode! A lot in fact. But I know so many people hate on GMMTV and MMY dramas. And it's because people don't care for grey-to-black morals generally or they don't like dramas that are too laid back. I think, personally, it's a case-by-case if I wish to ignore/block/remove someone commenting negatively. If I feel that I can't stand any of their points of views or that their POVs are dramatically consistently more negative than positive. I ignore and don't dedicate interests in their opinions. IDK why people hate-watch things and talk about it outloud? I will let the fans enjoy it and I will be quiet or I just won't watch the thing I don't like. But I know I personally have worded a thing or two about DFF on my tumblr/a public forum. I know most of them had to do with the controversial characters in the drama but.... They were made to be controversial so people could talk. And it wasn't out of malice. Though.. I did.. uhm.. Rip some comments a part that were trying to muddy Barcode's personal reputation for things Non did in the series. Must protect the Sunflower Boy. I think like when it comes to specific comments. If they are commenting and are being very uneducated or just hating out of spite. I will tell someone to check themselves. But otherwise if I think it's just for clout. I weigh the pros and cons. I have blocked some users because of their consistent shit-posting. In a way though, it was comments that were overwhelmingly negative that took me out of the major QL scope. And also because I didn't find many of the happy fans, I wasn't looking in the right spaces, and I felt lonely. I silently watched QL dramas to myself, and quietly liked and gushed over gifsets on Tumblr. It wasn't until Wardog came back to the Asian Drama Realm (I got her into a Chinese Xianxia drama--- Love Between Fairy and Demon) and then she fell into the Thai BL scene with KP, LITA, Not Me and Cutie Pie, that I returned to watch what I missed. (Minus the few BLs I watched on my own like Manner of Death etc).
Trash-watches and what do you do with your negative opinions?
As Love Sea has started airing I've seen a couple of people posting about it from a very negative point of view. It seems like they already dislike MAME so I'm confused as to why they're even watching it and engaging with the content. It's made me think a lot about negative opinions in fandom spaces and I have a lot of questions.
Firstly, people are of course allowed to feel however they want about shows they're watching and post about them however they want. The truth of people in general is that we have very different experiences in life and that colours the way we perceive media. So when MAME writes about trauma and consent I'm not surprised that some people struggle with finding parts they like in her shows.
It has, however, put me in a dilemma, because I like MeMindY and I'm pretty sure I'm going to like Love Sea as well.
As such I'm not very interested in reading posts about the show that are almost entirely negative, especially when the person who's writing the post is clearly watching a completely different show than me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for critiquing a show and thinking about the content critically and examining why a show is making you feel bad or angry. The point where I struggle with negative posts is when the poster is seeing bad intentions in places where I very much don't or have hangups with things that to me seem harmless in the specific situation. This is not me saying I'm right and they're wrong. We're really just approaching shows from very different perspectives and coming to very different conclusions.
I've been trying to figure out what to do about those posts and blogs and I'd love to hear any and all thoughts you have on this matter or comments on what you usually do when this happens.
Do you just live with seeing the negative posts on your dash and scroll past them without reading? Do you unfollow people? Do you block people?
This has also made me think a lot about posting negative comments and content in fandom spaces. Like why do you watch these shows when you know you aren't going to like the show from the beginning? And then why do you post about it extensively when you have almost entirely negative things to say about it? Do you guys enjoy making/reading hate-/trash-watches? And if you do, why do you enjoy it? I am honestly curious and won't judge.
Where's the line between useful critique and hateful comments? Are there situations where negative comments in fandom should just be kept to yourself? Should you stay out of the official tags if you only have negative things to say about a show? What do you guys do when you dislike a show?
I'm just so very curious about how people feel about this kind of content. Content like hate-/trash-watches or other ways of engaging with media in a negative way.

hear that thump? i can't get enough.
lando norris
cw: smut/pwp, seduction, unprotected sex, the reader seduces lando, zak brown's daughter!reader, dirty talk, missionary position, pregnancy
this bunny runs on comments and reblogs! feed the rabbit!! *thumps foot*
this felt wrong. but in the world of formula one, wrong didn't always mean bad. or at least that was what you were trying to convince yourself as you got ready.
you got on the sheer stockings and the pearl necklace that you had gotten as gift. you made sure your hair was perfect, everything was in place. you had actually redone your make-up twice because you hated how it looked. everything had to be perfect for tonight.
you believed it was the night that would save mclaren.
another look in the mirror, you tried not to hyper focus on perceived flaws. you exhaled deeply, you were getting into your head. you placed your hands on your hips and examined yourself from all angles. you sighed, "he's not going to care, he's a guy your age. they only care about one thing."
yet, you worried.
you felt responsible for helping your father, zak brown, keep his driver's for the 2025 season. especially one in particular, lando norris. there was an uneasiness under the surface, while the tabloids and rumor reddits hadn't caught wind of it yet. you could tell that lando was looking away from mclaren.
and you knew that your father wanted to keep him in that driver's seat for the team. so as you got yourself ready for a dinner with lando, you felt the hammer in your chest. you looked in the full length mirror in your bedroom before you grabbed your purse and headed to the uber outside of your apartment.
lando was waiting outside the resturant for you, one hand in his pocket and the other on his phone as he tried to keep himself busy. you felt a hammering in your chest. tonight was simple, seduce lando norris.
"lando!" you chirped as you walked towards him. your heels clapped against the concrete under you. your arms open in a friendly manner. he looked up and beamed at you. you embraced him tightly, he returned it and even picked you up a little.
"there she is, oh wow. i haven't seen you in forever!" he laughed.
you smiled at him and placed a hand on his bicep, "i saw you you like three months ago! i have been busy with university."
he chuckled, "i know, i know. i'm pretty sure you had to squeeze in getting dinner with me."
you replied, "lando, you're more than worth it. i'll clear a whole day if i had to." then you took him by the hand, "come on, let's eat." the place was beautiful with the food prepared in a way that screamed expensive.
you sat across from him and laughed at all his stories. you could tell that he was enjoying the attention. the smiles, the food, the bit of liquor. he even complimented your laugh when one of his jokes really landed and you got a little louder than normal.
"lando. can you be honest with me?"
"anything."
you pouted a little as you leaned a little bit forward. the low light of the restaurant caught the colour of your eyes perfectly. the way you sat gave him an ample view of your cleavage. you asked softly, "you're not leaving mclaren, are you?"
"no.. i mean... no, no." lando seemed a little nervous answering.
you replied, "good. because i'd hate to see you go. i like our time together and well, i was hoping we'd have more time." you gave a soft smile, "you always were my favorite." then your eyes cast down to you half finished meal.
the sight of you, you almost looked vulnerable. sweet and soft, the kind of woman that lando wanted on his cock. he knew it was wrong, fucking the boss' daughter. but you were both adults. and your sweet words of praise only enticed him, made blood rush to his cheeks. colouring him pink.
you poked at the piece of pepper on your plate as you sighed, "don't leave me, lando. promise?"
he shifted in his seat and nodded dumbly. hook, line and sinker. he replied, "of course, i'd never leave you. who even told you i was thinking about it? because i wasn't."
you shrugged, "you know what rumours are like. hard to tell fact from fiction."
lando placed his arm across the table, palm up so you could hold his hand. delicately you placed your hand in his. he gave it a firm squeeze. not enough to cause damage, but to reassure you.
he said, "don't worry, beautiful. i'm not going anywhere. plus, i think i look a lot nicer in orange." he chuckled. any correspondence he had with the likes of alpine slipped out of his mind and replaced with thoughts of your beautiful smile and soft curves. alpine was nice, but the softness of your pussy was even better.
you ended up back at his place, he drove you both him with his hand on your thigh. every so often you caught him catching a glimpse at you.
"if you're worried about my father finding out. don't worry, he's not an over protective monster. if anything he'd be happy that one of his boys is taking such good care of me." you said.
"right, right. i just keep thinking that this is all a dream and i'm going to wake up with a mess in my boxers." he gave your thigh another squeeze as he went into the parking garage of the building he lived in.
his lips were on yours once you were in the elevator. he had you pressed against the mirrored glass with your thigh up against his waist and his fingers pushing the bottom of your dress skirt. his kisses were hungry, like a man on a mission.
and it made you run hot, this was better than expected. it seemed almost too easy, but you were happy that you got confirmation out of him that he was going nowhere.
you giggled against his lips, tasting the fine dining on them. when the elevator opened to his floor. he took you by the hand and led you out. once in his apartment, you pressed up against the side of the couch with the man's lips on you once more.
"you're something else, miss brown." he chuckled as his lips at your pulse point. he could feel your rapid heartbeat, his hands at your middle, feeling you up.
"and you're boring, mister norris?"
lando pulled away and grinned at you, "of course not. i just never thought someone like you would end up with a driver."
you laughed, "and what, let all the grid bunnies have fun? be for real!" you tried to get the zipper of the dress undone, but lando took over. he watched you undress once the zipper was pulled down.
you looked beautiful in the nude colour underwear you wore. you skin looked softer in the gentle lighting of the living room. you crossed your arms a little, a little embarrassed by your lack of clothes.
but lando took your arms away and said, "hey, nothing to be ashamed about. you're beautiful." then he started to undress as well. before it could go any further, he led you to the bedroom.
you practically bounced on the bed as you got onto it. and lando was quick to get the sheer tights off of you. his hands lingered around you left calf, giving it a squeeze which made you heart race.
you got out of your bra while he got out of his slacks. you swallowed harshly when you heard the jangle of his belt buckle. the heavy metal made you hot.
both of you were undressed and lando had you laid out on the bed. he wanted to look at you while you fucked. the intensity of the need for you made his brain run in circles. he got between your legs on the bed, his cock yearned for the softness of your wet pussy. he felt his heart skip when he dragged his hand up and down his length in anticipation.
you smiled at you, "lookin' good, norris."
he licked his lips, "of course, only for you." then guided his cock into you. he tensed up for a moment at the warmth, but soon relaxed once he got himself inside of you. heat flooded his cheeks further and the stagger in his heart gripped him.
"you look very handsome, lando. were you hoping you were going to get laid tonight."
he replied, "no, no. i just wanted to dress to impress you." he felt the twist in his gut at the sight of you. you looked so beautiful under him. as you pushed hair out of your face and felt him start to move. your mouth opened a little to moan.
you hid your face for a moment and smiled against your wrist, "well, i wanted the same. i just got so worried that you were halfway out the door with the team."
he moved against you, his cock touching some of your most sensitive areas. he hunched over you and groaned heavily. he was a loud one in the bedroom. he licked his lips as he gazed at your perfect form. he said, "i..i thought about it. ya know what it's like. it feels like everyone is dangling something in front of me. but, not you."
you hid your face a little more. while most were danging cars and money in front of lando's face. you were nude under him in his bedroom. as the bed squeaked under you.
"of course not, lando." you giggled, covering up your lie, "you know i'd still hold you very dear even if you went to another team." you gave him the sweetest look you could give him and it made him grin.
a little white lie wouldn't kill lando. not for the sake of the team. plus, his sweet noises only made warmth pool in your gut as he thrusted his hips.
you reached for him and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. his face was up against your neck as you two moved in sync with one another. there was a fire burning in you. you cunt felt full in the best was possible.
"you feel like a dream." he admitted.
"and you feel just as nice." you said with suck softness. your little plan was working. you were winding lando up between your fingers. he wouldn't be going far after this.
you two kissed once more, it was less feverish. you felt the pleasure seep through your blood. you felt hot all over and your back felt sweaty against the navy blue sheets. you held onto his hair and softly scratched at his scalp, he moaned lazily into the kiss.
when he pulled away, he really started to work at your pussy. both of you were loud in the privacy of the his apartment. you held onto him tighter and you could hear his sweet praise.
"you're so fuckin' beautiful. i don't know why we didn't take the chance sooner. you look so good under me. the perfect girl. i was stupid for not seeing it sooner, like when we met. fuck. i need you, i want you."
lando's words were honey on your brain. you scratched into his shoulders as he continued to rut against you. your bodies moved in a quick yet steady rhythm. all building to the climax.
even in the depths of immense pleasure, you were patting yourself on the back for getting lando so pussy drunk that he was willing to stay with your father's team. you had concluded that you were a good seductress.
"lando."
"i know. i know. it all feels so good." he panted.
a few more heavy strokes of his cock and you were pulling him into a searing kiss. your legs locked around his waist. the kiss was messy and made a heat run through him. fuck, you felt amazing. you came with his cock stuffed into you and it was a head rush for you.
your heart hammered in your chest as you felt euphoria. lando took it as a chance to continue to drill his cock into you. his words were loose and messy, praise for you. it warmed you even more. he was close behind you and with his own climax it took the wind out of him. when he stopped thrusting, he got down beside you.
he was face planted into the soft covers of his bed, his cock throbbed and drooled a little bit of leftover cum. you chuckled at the sight and rolled over onto your stomach as well to throw an arm over his sweaty back.
you pulled him in for a kiss on the face and he made a sweet noise. he felt perfect and you felt achy in all the right ways. you thought that you had convinced him not to leave mclaren. to stay with the team and stay with you.
-
it turned out that it took more than one night to convince lando to stay. over the course of the summer break, he was constantly at your apartment. your little mission was a success but, also a failure.
a failure in the way that the birth control pill had a failure rate of 7%. lando stayed with mclaren, even signed a nice multi-year contract. it was hard to look at other teams when he was coming home to his beautiful future wife.
while it was a shocker to everyone, the news almost made your father break a blood vessel, it made sense. you two were around the same age, in the same circles. of course, lando norris was going to get you pregnant. but, it was worth it. the team was saved!
"i can feel him kicking." lando said softly.
except now you had a clingy fiance who was currently pressed up against your belly. his large hand across your middle as he practically melted. you had come to the conclusion that you sucked at the art of seduction, and that maybe your line of work should be a little different than trying to make deals with drivers under the table.
because most seductresses didn't end up very pregnant with a future formula one prodigy within a year.

Writing Post Masterlist
All my posts about writing - plus some I absolutely loved by other writers.
Masterlists by Other People (all good)
"Writing Tips Masterpost" by @deception-united - Deception-United has an incredibly wealth of resources available, far more comprehensive and detailed than mine. Go check it out!
"WQA Post Master Lists" by @writingquestionsanswered - Another fantastic and wonderfully comprehensive resource that covers damn near everything you need to know about writing. Genuinely one of the best free resources on writing that you could find on the internet.
General Advice for a Happy Writing Life
"The Myth of the Martyr Artist" - An incredibly important post, perhaps my most important one ever, that discusses why mental illness is a burden, not a benefit. I have no idea why this even needs to be said, but it does, apparently.
"Building Self-Esteem as a Writer" - Why you gotta be nice to yourself. You gotta.
"Identifying bad writing advice" - Warning signs that the post you are reading kinda sucks and you should click off.
"Advice to Beginner Writers: The Good, the Bad, and the Unpleasant" - How long it takes to become a good writer, what to focus on when learning, and why fanfic is such a useful tool.
"Mindset Shifts: Fanfiction -> Original Fiction" - What fanfic writers should know about deciding to take on original characters and stories.
"Defeating Protracted Writer's Block" - What to do when you find it impossible to write for days, weeks, or months at a time.
"Five Common Anxieties of Newbie Writers, Demystified" - Explorations of five mindsets that can set younger writers back as they learn their craft, including overcompetitiveness, overdescribing, and fearing they're "too old."
"Good Motivations for Continuing to Write" - Why it is crucial to have a passion for writing beyond fame and fortune.
"Extremely controversial writing opinions that will make you mad (but I'm going to say them anyway)" - Things you really don't want to hear, but need to be said. A bit of tough love, including the insignificance of ideas, the cold hard truth about how non-writers react to your writing, and the essentiality of having a well-rounded life.
"Why Mindfulness Is a Key Practice for Writers" - On the need to slow down and let our brain rest - plus some options that are categorically not sitting there in dead silence (boring).
"Writing When Happy" - Wherein I hijack someone's question to discuss the Myth of the Martyr Artist, why we might self-limit because of it, and how to do the impossible: write when we're happy.
"The Neurodivergent Writer’s Guide to Fun and Productivity" by @bookishdiplodocus - Excellent advice on how enjoying the process and reminding yourself that writing is supposed to be fun can help you stay motivated and productive, even when your brain is not cooperating.
"The Glorification of Self-Deprecation in Art/Writing Spaces" by @nicolkoutoulakiauthor - I've discussed before how crucial it is to have a healthy self-esteem when writing, but Nicol does it even better here. Nicol also includes some excellent reframing tactics so you can stay motivated.
Generalish Writing Advice (multifactorial)
"Signs That You Will Probably Finish Your Writing Project" - An analysis of the mindset that leads to results, and encouragement on how to develop them.
"'How Do I Start Writing?'" (Or; A Psychoanalysis of Newbie Writer Fears) - Inspired by the dozens of Reddit posts that ask this exact same thing, often with useless responses. So why do people ask this? I offer my theory.
"I Can Think of Ideas But Can't Write Them!" - A consideration of the many reasons you might find it difficult to get started on your precious idea-baby.
"How to elevate your writing style with 6 simple hacks" - Information about how to develop a prettier prose style, catch errors, develop good dialogue, and focus on brevity.
"How to improve your writing style : a 5-steps guide" by @writer-logbook - Especially great information on why reading widely is so helpful for your craft!
"Some Writing Advice" by @whispers-whump - Especially great discussion of why you shouldn't write what you mean.
"Practical Writing Advice Part 2" by @so-many-ocs - Does what it says on the tin. Simple, easy-to-follow advice that can break you out of writer's block.
"25 Prose Tips for Writers" by @thewriteadviceforwriters - I absolutely love the emphasis on sound and harmony here. As someone whose entire book series revolves around the magic of poetry, of course I think this is incredibly important advice!
"Pacing and Show Don't Tell" by @mylordshesacactus - Two for one deal! First, learn more about why pacing is important; then, look at some examples of the classic advice "show, don't tell." The post does a great job on breaking down what show don't tell actually means and what is not a violation of this guideline so that newer writers aren't confused.
Writing tools
"How to Build a Sustainable Writing Habit Through SCIENCE (Fuck Off, NaNoWriMo)" - Why NaNoWriMo doesn't actually motivate young writers and how to do better through a spreadsheet (yes, really, a spreadsheet). It also explains the importance of intrinsic motivation!
"'I've Outlined Too Much and Now I Can't Write!' (Or: the Double Outline Method for Overanxious Plotters)" - Some of us tend to go absolutely ham on our outlines, to the point where they're practically their own books. But then we also tend to not actually do the writing attached to said outline. Does this mean outlining is useless? Of course not. My method lets you have your outline and eat it too. (.... Wait.)
"'How Do I Make Myself Start Writing?' (Tips to Get the Damn Thing Done) - In this post, I provide a step-by-step guide to start writing, including a few tools to help improve motivation and concentration.
"How to Write Faster (And, Hopefully, Better Too)" - Eliminating distractions and forcing your brain to write is key to getting more done. Here, I explain how you might be limiting yourself by too much thinking and not enough doing.
Worldbuilding
"Stop Making Everything So Damn Complicated!" - Why fantasy (and scifi) does not need to be dizzyingly intricate to be enjoyable.
"How to Kick Ass at Worldbuilding" - I offer some suggestions on how to create a grounded and interesting world that will not bore your readers, based on real life examples.
"Grounded vs. Airy Fantasy" by @aethersea - Excellent breakdown of different levels of groundedness in fantasy and why it's important to understand your own approach.
"Fantasy Guide to Building a Culture" by @inky-duchess - Thorough and methodical analysis of what can create a compelling fantasy culture, including those things that many fail to think about when writing.
"Writing tip - Research" by @pygmi-cygni - Fantastic assessment of the importance of research, including for fantasy stories. As Pygmi-Cygni said, a lot of people claim that they don't need to do any research for fantasy novels, which isn't true! Any parallels to IRL need to be realistic, or you will lose credibility.
Plotting
"How to Use Chomolungma for Writing Adventure Stories; Or, the Plot Mountain Method" - If you're sick of saving felines who should really figure their own shit out, it's time to head to Plot Mountain. In this post, I offer you an alternative to the formulaic "Save the Cat" and "Hero's Journey" which also incorporates tension, characterization, and forward momentum.
"Avoiding Melodrama In Your Writing" - The most annoying all things: melodrama. My least favorite thing. Do not do it. I will show you how.
"How to Find a Plot When All You Have is Characters and Setting" by @rheas-chaos-motivation - This is a common problem for many writers, when you have cool characters or an intriguing setting. This short post can help you kickstart your ideas for how to create an intriguing plot that has built-in tension.
Description
"Remembering Perspective When Writing Descriptions" - Key factors to think about when describing other characters or settings from your POV.
"Description, Momentum, and Tension; Or, How Not to Bore a Reader" - Why, when, and where to put description so that people don't skip over it. Hopefully.
"Writing Notes: Seasons" - Each season has both benefits and downsides. In this post, we look at the negatives and positive aspects of each so you can decide how a particular season may strengthen your themes - plus some descriptions to help inspire you.
"Writing Advice: Spicy Mundanity" - Wherein I explain how to stop having boring descriptions by packing in characterization.
"How to Write Smut?" by @unfriendlywriter - Wonderful examples of how to write heartstopping smut.
"How to pull off descriptions" by @fictionstudent - Fictionstudent has a ton of great posts, both about film analysis and about the art of writing. I especially liked this one because it discusses how important perspective is for descriptions and the importance of filling in the details as a character would rather than just throwing it all at the reader at one time.
"How to avoid White Room Syndrome" by @writerthreads - Fantastic and focused advice on how to ensure you're offering readers just enough setting to help them envision the world.
Characterization
"Writing Relatable Characters; Or, Using Human Failures to Your Advantage" - Explaining how you can use character flaws and human needs to create a relatable character. Also explains the basic development of a plot, which is about equilibrium.
"How NOT to Write a Character" - Wherein I give you some examples of annoying characters we want to punt off a cliff so you can watch yourself.
"Writing Strong Female Characters" - Why you should give your female characters a secret goal, as well as how to avoid common 'strong female' stereotypes.
"Writing Compelling Trauma in Fiction: Dos and Don'ts" - How to avoid melodrama and create intriguing emotional wounds for characters.
"Quality Assurance Checks for Character Development" - Thought exercises that can help you differentiate characters, prune down unnecessary characters, develop true chemistry between LI and MC, and avoid having too many POVs.
"Developing Character Agency (Or; Cutting the Plot Strings)" - A discussion of character agency and how to ensure your characters are not bound by the narrative.
"Writing Notes: Thought Distortions" by @literaryvein-reblogs - Some psychological concepts you can use in your writing to add depth to characters.
"Questions about your character’s perspective on love and relationships" by @luna-azzurra - Excellent questions that can help you delve into your character's attachment style, what baggage they may bring to a current relationship, and how to create conflict through mentality.
"How to Write a Confession of Love," also by luna-azzurra - Perfect discussion of how to create tension, the utility of setting, not making it perfect, and including the other character's response.
Revisions
"Common Writing Issues that Reduce Readability" - Examples of fixes for four common issues: double describing, long sentences, overexplaining, and head hopping.
"How to Avoid Purple Prose" - A critical part of the revision process is making sure your writing is clear and balanced. In this post, I show a blatant example of purple prose and provide suggestions on how to make a more elegant passage.
"Differential Diagnosis When Your Writing Is Getting Worse" by @ariaste - Fantastic explanation by a professional writer about why you might feel like your writing is getting worse and what to do about it.
"How to Make Your Writing Less Stiff Part 3" by @physalian - Physalian's whole blog has some excellent advice, so definitely give it a look!
"How to Improve Your Writing" - Also by literaryvein-reblogs, this offers some excellent exercises to help with sentence-level issues, such as modifiers, parallelism, and details.
Publishing
"How to promote your book online : a discussion about social media (and few tips)" by writer-logbook - Great tips about how to get more interest in your book. I especially enjoyed the emphasis on patience and consistency. Writer-logbook has some excellent info overall about the nitty-gritty of writing, so I definitely recommend poring through their blog in general. (That's why they're included here twice!)
"A masterclass in how not to market your books, in one singular tweet" - Wherein I help you derive lessons from an abysmal tweet by an author.
"Mistakes I Made When Self-Pubbing My First Book (Part 1: Mindset Edition)" - I talk about how being delulu is not the solulu, that yes marketing is important (even if it is horrible), and how a bit of self-confidence can go a long way.
"Mistakes I Made When Self-Pubbing My First Book (Part 2: Presentation Edition)" - Graphics and covers and blurbs! Learn about them. Do not do what I did.
"Mistakes I Made When Self-Pubbing My First Book (Part 3: Ads and Reviews Edition)" - Why you have to get reviews. You gotta. And you gotta demand them. Shake those reviews out of your readers. You'll thank me later.
Specific Research Advice
"Assassination Methods Through the Decades: A Writer’s Handbook" by @hayatheauthor - A thorough review of different assassination methods, including a section discussing common assassination methods by region!
"How to Write Someone in a Wheelchair" - A group effort! This is a reblog chain discussing body language in manual wheelchairs, the mechanics of power wheelchairs, wheelchair propulsion methods, and a reminder that just because someone is in a wheelchair doesn't mean they can't walk short distances.
"Writing Research Notes: Caves" - Oh caves how I love them. Caves. Let me tell you about them if you want to write about caves. Blessed.
"Writing Research Notes: Horses" - A beginner's guide to horse mindsets, whether horses like working, approaching horses, how to ride, and tips on training.
"Writing Research Notes: Bipolar Disorder" - Written by me, a writer with bipolar disorder! This shares basic facts about bipolar, offers a list of symptoms you can use, and cautions you against spreading misinformation through poor characterization or myths.
"Writing Research Notes: Politics" - I provide a quick overview about governments and international relations, based off my suffering while getting an MA in International Relations.
"Stop Doing This in Injury Fics!" by @pygmi-says-hi - Discusses some common errors when writing whump/angst. The fever part was especially helpful for me!
"Writing US Military Characters" by @lookbluesoup - An explanation of the habits and mentality of US military characters. Many of these were quite helpful for my fantasy military characters, so you can get a lot of mileage out of these for soldiers in other militaries too!
Little Funsies
"What Painting Style Is Your Writing?" - A short exploration of different writing styles to help you better understand your own approach.
I'll be adding onto this as I continue to scroll through my old likes and, of course, as I find more resources.

The racism present in TES does make me uncomfortable at times, but what's a real doozy is that I genuinely can't find any lore community where I don't see excessive fantasy racism that at best is just plain unfunny and at worse just actual irl racism. If I see another "The Snow Elves deserved extermination" post I might go crazy.
Its also another thing where if you don't have an analytical eye of the lore it can often seem like the games are actually justifying that sort of stuff, intentional or not.
Sorry, this was a bit of a vent ask after I was inspired by your posts on the topic. I've been recently playing a very modded playthrough of Oblivion and really enjoying it so far, so that got me back into the fandom.
well hey welcome back :) i might jump back into oblivion too once i've beaten bg3
i made a reddit account recently and one of the first things i saw in r/skyrim was several people tossing around an antisemitic dogwhistle. it's an unfortunate reality that any work of fantasy featuring racial essentialism as a plot point or gameplay mechanic is tailor-made for bigots whether bethesda intended them as the game's audience or not

modern!ellie headcanons
notes/warnings: pet names used (baby), sfw, loser!ellie a little (i cant help it), no race specific information, androgynous reader
★ she has an insane mug collection thats so strange, when you go to hers for the first time its such a weird thing
"you want something to drink?"
"sure"
and you'll go back to messing with her stuff that she left sprawled across her coffee table until you hear her clomp over and extend her arm, she'll be holding an inconveniently built mug out to you casually
"els, what the fuck is that?"
she tilts her head and furrows her brow, confused at your comment as if its unreasonable to ask why shes handing you a horrifically constructed alien mug thats bound to spill all over you
★ speaking of these mugs, she refuses to get rid of *any* of them. when you guys move in together you're begging her to just get rid of one but she refuses
"els, please. we dont have enough shelves for these, we need normal drinking glasses."
you sigh as the mugs sit across the kitchen counter, shes on one side staring at them while youre on the other side staring at her.
"i cant, i use them all"
she doesn't. she drinks out of one and she only ever drinks water from it. you go back and forth for merely minutes before you throw in the towel and just let her do her thing, if shes happy you dgaf about the normal water glasses.
★ shes a loud ass walker, you will hear her before you see her. you genuinely start to think she's doing it on purpose.
★ she has one belt and its one wrong move from completing snapping in two pieces, there is a literal half inch of material holding it together
★ needs to pet street cats every time she sees them, whenever you point out that they're probably diseased she scoffs
★ tries to pretend shes good at fixing things but has no clue what shes doing—the toilet isnt flushing properly and so she stands about 3 feet from it and stares at it with her weight shifted to one side. she'll have on a tank top on and slacked down carhartt pants engulfing her legs as she nods. she really likes to take care of you so she'll refuse to admit she has no idea what shes doing and when you walk away she looks up "toilet not flushing reddit"
★ she fucks with the twilight franchise but pretends to hate it because it doesn't "look cool"
★ she cant drive, she failed her permit test 3 times and pretends like every other driver on the road is the problem (shes the issue every time)
★ she drives a beat up car or truck, it smells a little funny and the radio gets three stations so you have to rummage through her mass cd collection to find something to listen to. half the cds wont even be in their case but instead haphazardly chucked around her car in random spots. the only ones she keeps in order are your cds, which have a specific bag so you don't have to scurry about in her car to find them.
★ 3 pairs of socks and they all have holes in them, she'll complain that the floor is cold all the time
"god the floor is so cold in here"
"can you just put some socks on?"
"i'm wearing socks right now"
"oh really?"
and she'll point as her feet, half her toes are out and her heel is fully exposed. its about the same as just wearing no socks at some point. you'll just stare in disbelief for a moment before scoffing.
"what'd you do that for?"
that small crease between her brows finding its way to her face as it always does.
"you're barely wearing socks"
"oh whatever"
★ has to physically restrain herself from telling you the gift she bought you for any holiday or event, shes tweaking out and cant function until she gives it to you
★ she loves to just be in your presence, she'll observe your routines. she enjoys perching next to you as you get ready, no matter how short or long or a routine she will be by your side
★ she can cook a crazy burger but that's literally all she can make
★ shes a blushing mess for you but she loves to get cocky and pretend she isn't when texting you
★ needy and will message you thirst trap ass photos in an attempt to get you to leave work early and be with her (it works)
