this is going to sound simplistic + i promise you it's not: stop following people whose entire schtick is being cruel or fighting with others online. even if the ppl deserve it! even if it's not a ~problematic~ cruelty! even if you agree with all of that blog's opinions!
it's one thing if someone snaps back when provoked or posts the occasional "get a load of this guy". nobody needs to play up respectability for people who haven't given them respect in return. but if someone's online identity centers around being needlessly mean for laughs + they're constantly seeking out socially acceptable, easy targets for petty cruelty, that's a red flag. there's a huge difference between not taking shit/cracking a joke + mocking others as your several-hours-a-day hobby.
especially if, when they are inevitably in the wrong + mocking someone mercilessly to their 50k followers over something petty goes south (shocking!), they become extremely defensive or block everyone or play the victim or dismiss it as "well, how was i supposed to know they were autistic? i'm autistic + i don't meow in public" or whatever.
this isn't a "well i knew all along" post bcuz nobody should be shamed for being in the dark about something like this but many of the popular bloggers who have later been exposed for serious harassment or abuse should not have shocked us. if someone's blog is 90% shit like "you should light yourself on fire because you watch x anime" or "look at this so-called lesbian bitch + her ugly fucking boyfriend at a kink convention- it's giving drowned rats", should it really shock you that they are also being cruel or abusive in less internet-acceptable ways? if they've already shown you that they get a such a thrill out of being vicious that they do it daily + are regularly rewarded with thousands of followers?
#it's so bad on other social media platforms too#like the number of tiktokkers whose fame is just being MEAN but in a funny way#towards ppl who have done nothing to deserve it but also are not like. oppressed groups#half the time it's ppl who i also personally dislike or dont relate to but don't deserve like. repeated violent harassment#like sure i also dislike marvel movies but it's far more embarassing to run a blog dedicated to mocking + suicide baiting random marvel fan

A lil rant about my experience with this god forsaken fandom
I made this blog around 2020 when I was 13 years old. This was my first shot at a dedicated fandom blog and I was pretty excited for it, to make friends, draw fanart, post fun stuff and what not.
All fun right? Right, so tell me why was it that literal 20 years olds felt the need to harass me, a then 13 year old girl with a relatively small blog, for the dumbest reasons possible?
What did I do that subjected me to 2 and a half years worth constant daily threats and harassment? Hmm???
You wanna know my crime? Apparently I showed interest in an antagonist character, which is so awful that grown adults felt the need to bully me. And following those adults came young impressionable people my age, that joined the bandwagon of hate against me.
As if other fandoms don’t have people literally dedicating themselves to a villain, no one bats an eye to that. Why did this fandom have such an issue? I also apparently dared to criticise the main character for a few of his flaws. Such a horrible thing to do right? I need to be burnt at the stake for it right?
I didn’t follow the “fixed” standards of the fandom so I was to be sent de*th/r*pe threats daily?? For not following the “rules” I was to be ostracised?
No please someone explain…I’m but a dumb bitch, I don’t understand what I did so terribly wrong to deserve this? Did I start a war? Did I rip open someone’s plush? Did I bully someone for not having the same ideology as me?
No it was but the fandom itself that for some reason found it so fun to bully a 13 year old, send her de*th and r*pe threats all because of not being of pjo fandom standards…let’s go and bombard her with hate!!
Do you realise how fucking stupid…this all sounds? Do you realise how low this is? Was bullying a child so fun? So trendy at the time?
Then came the victim blaming- I laugh everytime I remember people saying I must have done something really bad to get such harassment, that it’s all for attention. What kid wants to get hate everyday of their life for 2 whole fucking years? Tell me?
You know wanna know what I did wrong? Fight back, call the hate anons out for their bigotry. I was vocal about it, that’s what I did wrong right? Stand my ground? People said to ignore it and I did. But I still got bullied daily even if I didn’t respond. What was all this for?
I can imagine people asking why I didn’t simply leave the fandom? Why the fuck should I? I enjoy the stories, I enjoy the characters, they were my escape from real life struggles. It was the bullying I didn’t enjoy. Everyday I’d log on to enjoy posts and a few minutes later when the bigots found out I was active I was sent an anonymous threat.
Many of my oldest friends had to reduce the amount they interacted with me in fear of receiving harassment themselves. The extent of this is bigotry is beyond my understanding.
I did not deserve this much suffering AND ALL FOR WHAT? A STUPID LITTLE REASON THAT HAS BARELY ANY WEIGHT TO IT. Do people even realise the extent of what happened is beyond me. And Idc if I sound selfish, I want a fucking apology from all those bigots. I want compensation for the 2 and a half years of abuse I endured alone. I just want this bigotry to end, which surprise surprise! Still continues to happen.
Why do I bring this up now that it’s all over you ask? I’ve actually brought it up once before, but it was swept under the rug, (My deepest appreciation to the very few people who supported me when I first talked about it) I’m just finally being more vocal, because this has stuck with me. For all those 4 years this has stuck with me. It doesn’t mean if it’s over for now that all the trauma doesn’t linger. It still affects me to this day.
In fact I’m still being stalked by one of the people who sent me hate anons. One of the hate anons was revealed to be one of my bestest friends, they had admitted this to me and had the nerve to beg me to still remain friends. They were also the person who groomed me. They have left the fandom scene and I’ve rid of them from my life but they still continue to stalk me.
What do I get from ranting about all this? A bit of solace, a bit of weight off my shoulders. But nearly not enough for me to actually fucking heal. I also want people to realise how bigoted some are and how horrible the mentality of “fixed fandom standards/ideologies” is and that we as a fandom need to fucking change. Heck I know this issues in every fandom. But can we at least start with ours for a change for once?
Along side all of this there’s also a lot of racism and trans/homophobia that still actively prevails. Just look at what Leah went through when her casting was announced. Did she deserve all of that?? “Not my annabeth” do you realise how horrible that is to say to a CHILD? She is Annabeth whether you like it or not. And you are very welcome to leave if you wish to stick to your stupid racist nonsense.
I bet there are many others who have probably suffered the same may it not be for the same reasons, but everyone of them deserve their apologies and compensation as well.
Idc if I’ll get hate for this. I said what I said. I’m just so done.
#trigger warning#tw hate#I was also informed I was being mocked in group chats and there were sick rumours about me.#i won’t give a fuck if I get harassed again cux this literally shows how low this fandom will get#there’s so many layers to this I haven’t even gone into detail on#but I just want atleast this off of my chest. I was shaking and short of breath as I wrote this#I wish to thank all my oldest moots and friends that stuck by me despite everything. I cannot express how thankful I am to you guys#love you all tons.#what do u mean by compensation? just an apology from the same people who hurt me. which is nearly impossible. but idc I want to find them#and confront them. I need to bring my 13 year old self justice for what she went through. I pushed her feelings aside when this was over#but she never healed. I’m hoping she gets a bit of peace for now.#pjo fandom#percy jackson fandom#fandom toxicity

Regarding previous post about disco horse: I really appreciate that everyone is actually talking for once, but a kind of jab happened on my mental health so I have to step away. It isn't from this post, but the reason is sort of connected
Again, I personally find no problems with the DLC except for how Radahn ship came from nowhere and can justify how that comes. But regardless of how many things anyone else dislikes about the DLC: you are valid to hate it as much as you want, but when you start insulting people who loved/accepted/justified the DLC as "media illiterate fromsoft dickriders who keeps coping even after the honeymoon phase passed" and variation I draw the line. There are many ways where other fans can find reason where you didn't and there is potential in new lore that you won't use. Absurd how some people are still willing to support illusory narrative that Radahn Redditor simps are the "worst" part of the fandom when not even at their most arrogant and annoying they can dream to reach HALF of the toxicity cultish Miquella/Malenia fans have, over the awful crime of having different readings, opinions and priorities.
And yes, I know it is inevitable that Tumblr and Twitter fans WOULD make a moral/intellectual/maturity contest out of how people feel about the DLC (🤡🤡🤡), but it hurts when people I actually don't want to butt heads with who start to approve of this mentality. Like, okay cool. Wallow in your elitist toxic pool of Ledas while we, "pathetic dickriders" go and "cope" somewhere else, hope everyone is more comfortable this way 🤦♂️ I am tired of getting hurt through endless passive aggression and I have my limits. It is just always hurtful to finally rip the bandage, even IF it is to the better. I need a hiatus for a longer time, albeit for a different reason now
#fandomry rambles#personal#/vent#like no anon haters or even harass campaign can really hurt me#it is just people I consider my pals who can#back in april I split with a guy who likewise was miquella fan of a certain kind#and the worst part is that with him it was triggered by the SAME toxic user's antics#stupid how people were trying to gaslight me that they are 'merely sharing their opinions'#when they are clearly cultish freak cultivating toxicity of 'right and wrong' fans based on their HEADCANONS#screw you guys you are way too naive#I just can't accept this#even if I slipped a few times in THREE YEARS SPAN saying mean things abour gehrman haters#ive improved and above all it wasnt consistent but just bad days and reacting at THEIR insults#when someone *consistently* and deliberately mocks every fan that dares to feel differently?#this is just abhorrent and I don't understand people who accept this behavior only because-#-they happen to share headcanons and opinions with the op#there are more important things than agreeing on hcs and opinions! like climate in fandom!#ugh!!!#in any case it is clear what some people REALLY think of me isn't it!!!#now if you don't mind me I'll go 'cope' and elaborate 'shitty miyazakis writing' in my carians headcanons#if I can walk after 'riding fromsofts dick' so much -_-#I swear the worst chadahn stand can say is that you are overthinking because there is no evidence

It’s possible to criticize something primarily enjoyed by women without being misogynistic and also just because something is primarily enjoyed by women that doesn’t make it above criticism. Especially when most of the people giving in depth, valid, well thought out critiques. Are also. Women. It doesn’t matter that things like Twilight or true crime or Taylor Swift (damn the three T’s if you will) ect. have a lot of female fans, people are still allowed to call out the harm they’ve caused and they aren’t inherently misogynistic for doing so. This isn’t about quality or whether something is worth enjoying or not, this is about the way these things impact other people in real life and those things should be acknowledged.
#the fact that women making these critiques often get accused of#internalized misogyny or being a ‘pick me’ or trying to appease men#is a whole other issue#I’m tired of seeing people defend genuinely harmful things with ‘oh so women can’t enjoy ANYTHING’#like that defense does not hold up when other real life people are being harmed.#I understand the whole thing of womens’ interests often being mocked and belittled#but that doesn’t mean you get to spread misinformation pry into people’s private lives sexually harass actual humans beings and continue to#perpetuate racist stereotypes#those things are wrong no matter what#your fandom and your hobby is not more important than the lives of real people

I said this very same thing in a certain Discord a couple months ago, and got publicly harassed, then privately insulted/condescended to/gaslit, so I left the server ( -as they were trying to kick me for defending myself, lmao!). But it's an objective fact, whether people want to hear it or not - AAA games are, more often than not, buggy, unfinished disasters on purpose. And yes, games in the modern era are (more often than not) worse than they were in the late 90s/early '00s.
I know this to be true ( because I have eyes in my head and I keep up with news in the gaming community/I have experienced it myself), because after I got bullied/harassed out of this 'community space', I compiled several (fact based) sources that discuss this very topic, right here, called The State of AAA Games in the Modern Era.
But the simplest way to put it is that we used to pay for a whole burger - now? You pay for a burger you won't get for 6 months to 3 years later, but all you end up getting is the bun... but you can buy the rest piece by piece! Or, you can 'save money' by subscribing to a pass that will drip feed you the rest of the burger piece by piece every 3 months: the patty, then the cheese, then the lettuce, then the condiments, then the pickles... you pay for a whole game, then recieve only a portion of it, and then have to pay yet more money to receive the rest of the game (cleverly disguised as DLC, when more often than not, it's stuff that's kind of core to the game being playable/enjoyable - the Sims 4/EA are notorious for this).
Video gaming was scoffed at until it got popular, and then capitalism did what it always does: gobbled it up. They wanted to milk the cash cow for the least money invested, and the most monetary gain - the devs care, but the investors/shareholders/execs don't, and you end up with shittier and shittier games... and devs who are abused and overworked because they lack many protections that other jobs have!
The sad truth of it is? Money talks, and it's the only language capitalism understands - people have to stop buying into the cash grab traps so that the company loses money, and execs somewhere go 'oh no our profits' and then maybe they'll try to make a decent, feature complete game - like the last Armored Core game! It was a WHOLE game, and not a shell of what it could be - propped up on myriad essential DLC - upon release.
Tl;dr - As long as the line goes up, there is no incentive to stop doing what they do, because people keep buying in. Game quality isn't important to the people who fund the games, now - money is. The EA(/other game company of your choice) of today isn't the one who put so much love into their games when millennials were growing up. So remeber this: Nostalgia counts for nothing, and companies aren't your friends.
Unironically I think we might run into another video game crash like back in the day
#AAA games#gaming#capitalism#I was mocked and bullied and harassed for saying this#then when I lamented that it sucked to be harassed out of a supposed inclusive gaming community...#someone from that community that I don't even know DMd me on Discord to tell me I should stop talking about being harassed#I'm still shook about it - and have been made to feel so unwelcome for speaking literal truth -#- that I no longer want anything to do with the FFXIV community after I was harassed for saying the exact same thing Ralph is saying here#but God forbid you say something someone doesn't like - even if it's 100% true!#toxic positivity means you always agree and never talk about anything negative ever

I think one common bias people have is reading a lot into small things like handwriting or shopping carts and too confidently extrapolating major deep seated personality inherent character traits from them, (or at least in the habit or trained to do this), im not wording this well, as well as using this as a basis to confidently predict future actions in a way that genuinely does not make sense.
Because the person free associated the small action with some unpleasant person or experience they knew, plus the fact being pressed on the internet, especially about some relatively esoteric factor such as “dont you think you’re literally actually wrong about that in a logical sense” makes people defensive and aggressive and lean towards a tendency to double down for fear of disrespect or reprisal.
Which is part of the reason if you ask people to be ‘professional’ enough to admit when they don’t know something (when approached like they are expected to know something at automatically feared cost of belief/competence/respect in their abilities or whatever) you also have to be good enough to make it common not to laugh or mock people for not knowing something. And genuinely nobody knows most things, even professionals who know a lot about one or two things, so this is just not an issue to me. Only people who don’t have to do high stakes organization I think don’t easily accede this.
The middle ground for this is context is king= banter and ribbing and every other common interaction, though. In a casual context, that ideally sorts itself out by whoever you currently choose to hang out with.
2 factors that help: 1) people seeing examples of friendly good interaction and 2) implying (the true) proposition that its more fun to have conversations with people rather than “owning” them by “winning”
Important internet corollary: lurk moar vs “this reddit discussion board should just have a faq” or maybe a solution is: “split into a newbie board vs to talk here you need experience or a resume check or something.” dunno if they do it better by honor system or literal trust in a mod
I think light border bumps to large scale social media makes sense to let people know they really may be kicked for being weirdly malicious (if specialized, because a public square kind of social media is great tbh)
#hold on theres a branch off of this rough in the ‘well i just personally dont like it’ so valid. however not allowed to campaign like its a#political point to wider internet that Anyone who does X = morally bad for how reliably this leads to harassment. and it validates the logic#which gets out of hand real fast.#community standard for art group or tag is a little bit different discussion#i feel like this doesn’t account for the natural human urge to gossip and tease or mock (when not thinking about details too hard)#but i guess its like if you have something major gauge ur publicity and factor this into ur decision#another part would be- to have personal opinions you have to a) know the difference between political and personal opinion and b) let other#people have personal opinions#and you have to make it easy for people to say what they mean#to prevent uh. hm. coming back to this later

Thinking about how when you’re drunk—and I mean really drunk—you get it in your head to catcall men. They could use a little harassment. When you reach that point, your friends immediately know it’s time to cut you off, acting like the Secret Service as they usher you out of the bar and towards the Uber. But they couldn’t anticipate the group of men standing outside the bar swapping laughs and smoking.
Of course you pick the scariest one of the lot and:
“Hey!” you shout, half giggling. “Hey—you, in the mask!”
The man turns. You can’t see his mouth with the surgical mask in place but you can tell his eyebrows are raised. He’s fucking huge, towering over his counterparts (who are nothing to sniff at), thick and strong. His head cocks in silent question.
“Can I get your number?” you shout, licking your friend’s hand when she slaps it over your mouth. All your friends rush to brush the guy off, but he’s already ashing his cigarette under his boot, slipping his hands into his pocket, and crossing the street quietly.
He stays a healthy distance away, aware of how it looks: a man his size approaching a group of young, inebriated women. You think he’s come to harass you in return, or maybe just to mock you—either way you are stunned silent, mouth agape, eyes wide. He’s so much taller up this close.
“Got a pen?” he asks.
He only approaches then, shoulders hunched to make himself appear smaller and innocuous. He takes your hand in his own and writes his phone number on your forearm.
When you wake up hungover the next morning, his number is there on your arm along with a reminder that you hadn’t been able to see in the dim lighting of the parking lot: XXX-XXXX—S. Drink water.

my boyfriend will kick your ass !
- fushiguro megumi x reader
it's a date gone wrong when you get into an argument with your aloof boyfriend. but will he save you when it counts?
genre/warnings: tw. street harassment, catcalling. hurt/comfort, arguments and reconciliation, protective!megumi and fluff !
note: i miss my emo boi :(
general masterlist
“Stay back!”
This is an utter plot twist. When you came out of your apartment today, all dolled up and ready to go on a date with your boyfriend, you never imagined you’d end up cornered by two creeps in a deserted alley.
“Easy, girl,” one of the guys in front of you cackled, lips curling into an unsettling sneer. “We’re just trying to get to know you better!”
“Listen— My boyfriend is super scary, you know!” you barked, willing yourself not to shake. “Now you better not come any closer or else—!”
“Or else what?” the other creep mocked with a snort. You gripped your umbrella—now your makeshift weapon—tightly, pointing it at him as a threat.
“Or else my boyfriend will be here in any minute and he’ll kick your ass!”
It was a partly a lie you hoped sounded convincing, because how could Megumi suddenly show up and find you in this dingy alleyway... right after both of you had a petty disagreement in the middle of Shibuya's shopping district?
Oh lord, how you regretted raising your voice and running away from him earlier.
"You are late!" you scolded him heatedly as he yawned, showing up twenty minutes later than your agreed time. "Can't you at least text me beforehand? I'll match your time if you do!"
Megumi sighed, fixing you with a blank stare as he scratched his head. "My bad. I overslept. I rushed here so didn't think of it."
It was so easy for him to say, and you would've understood if it was the first time, but you had noticed this pattern over the past two weeks. Whenever you asked him out for dates, his face always soured, and he didn't bother to be on time. If you didn't know any better, you'd think he was reluctantly agreeing.
And by this point, you thought you knew better and that was really it.
Finally, you blurted out the burning accusation: "You never realize it, but it shows, you know? You never seem happy when we go out together."
He exhaled in exasperation, green eyes darkening at you. "What do you mean?"
"Exactly that."
It seemed he had run out of patience. Standing your ground, you braced for his next words. But the glare he sent your way and the words he spat pierced your tender heart more than you thought—
"You're always nagging. Can't you stop being annoying just once? What a pain."
Perhaps he was right, you were annoying him all this time and dealing with you was a pain. You could imagine it if you were in his place, but you couldn't handle the very implication that you had done so, and you screamed at his face:
"So be it then! Fushiguro, you are the worst!"
—and ran off with tears in your eyes, deserting him altogether.
You knew you weren’t exactly a model of maturity, but in your defense, it stung deeply that he saw you as annoying and a pain. What girlfriend wouldn’t be hurt by that?
Anyhow, you loitered near the Shibuya station afterwards, and at first you heard some catcalls you didn't really pay mind to. But when those two guys started whistling and edging closer, it hit you—you were their target.
You quickened your pace, turning down several corners, only to find yourself trapped in a dead end. Just how much worse could your day get?
"Aha, the girl says she has a boyfriend!" Creep #1 snickered, turning to Creep #2 with a smirk, before pretending to scan the area. "But I don’t see him?"
"Miss, I swear we’re not up to any trouble," Creep #2 chimed in, his eyes gleaming with a predatory delight. "Won’t you be our friend? You’re too pretty to be alone—this is Shibuya, after all!" he said, eyeing your legs and whistled. "And ooh, have I told you that skirt suits you well?"
These guys were straight-up perverts!
"Get lost!" you yelled, your fingers trembling as you swung the umbrella at him when he tried to close the distance. "Can’t you just leave me alone?!"
You were at your wits' end, and it was clear this situation wasn’t going to improve with them still blocking your way. You took a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart, and decided to do the only thing you could.
In hindsight, a stupid move—
You barreled towards the two of them with your umbrella—managing to push past them. For a moment, you thought you had a chance and ran as fast as you could—
"Ack!" —until you tripped and crashed on the ground.
You rose and immediately winced, looking down at the site where it hurt the most. Oh, you had scrapped your knees badly.
"Ahh, miss! Don't be too hasty~!" you heard the second guy's sing-song voice, and you really wanted to cry. Why did this have to happen to you?
"Don't come c-closer!" you stammered, backing away as they approached. Your whole body shook, desperately trying to think of ways to save yourself. "Or— I'll scream!"
"Whoa, whoa, wait just a minute! Why don't you just—"
You really thought you would scream, until suddenly the familiar scent of mint filled your sense and a strong arm pulled you from behind, and a broad back shielded your view from them—
"What do you need from her?" Megumi's voice boomed, his eyes glaring at the two men who had been harassing you. His breathing was ragged, as if he had run all the way here. "Fuck off."
At that moment, you couldn't help clutching his sleeve, hiding behind him further as you kept trembling. Megumi sensed it, and turned over to have a look over you—
You looked disheveled, spooked, and his eyes widened when he saw the blood trailing down both of your knees.
"Hey man, your girlfriend practically asked for it! Just look how she is dressed—"
Before you could process what was happening, Megumi had yanked the man by his collar and thrown a punch at him. You yelped and immediately got a hold of his arm to stop him further. "Megumi!"
The other guy quickly caught his friend, who spat out a string of curses, his lips bloodied from the punch.
"Fuck. Off." Megumi glowered at them, and they finally got the message, scurrying away in hurry. The moment they did, he faced you again and you finally let out a sob, throwing yourself into him. His body was warm, his heart pounding hard— yet it meant reassurance for you.
"Are you okay...?" his voice was noticeably softer as he wrapped his arms around you and returned the hug. "Did they touch you—?"
Megumi froze when he felt his chest dampen with your tears and heard your sniffles, your figure shaking like a leaf in his embrace. A wave of guilt washed over him, realizing how scared you must have been. Instinctively, he held you tighter.
"I'm sorry... I'm sorry," he muttered, his breath warm against your ear. It was as if there was an invincible knife that twisted his chest when it dawned on him what you just got into. "I'm here now, okay? You're safe now."
If it weren’t for his harsh words earlier, you wouldn’t have run off. He kept shushing you, his own heart breaking at the turn of events.
And when you nodded against him, he knew he had to make it up to you somehow.
Later, Megumi tended to your minor injury while crouching down before you, as you sat on a bench near the convenience store where he had picked up the first aid kit.
Your eyes were swollen, your outfit was dirtied, but you ignored the curious looks from passersby. Still shaken, you kept your gaze fixed on your lap.
You recoiled when the disinfectant touched your torn skin, tears welling up again in your eyes. "Ow..."
"It'll hurt just a bit," Megumi looked up at you worriedly, seeing you struggling to hold back tears. He gently blew air on your wound. "It’ll be over soon."
Megumi noticed how you were uncharacteristically quiet. Between the two of you, you were the chatty one and he was the silent listener. But now, you were completely silent, and he knew it was definitely not a good sign.
And so he thought it was a good time to finally explain himself. With a sigh, he began. "I... was on back-to-back missions last week."
You glanced at him, both surprised and confused.
“I was so burnt out— that’s why I’ve been oversleeping lately. Sorry for not meeting you on time.” Megumi applied the ointment to your knees, and you stiffened from the sting. He blew air on them again to ease the discomfort.
"You never told me," you pointed out.
“Yeah, uh, sorry...” he winced. “It’s so... lame. I’ve been exhausted for a week straight whereas Itadori bounces back so easily. Stupid, I know.”
"You... didn't tell me because you don't want to look uncool?"
As soon as you worded it that way, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Megumi remained silent, looking down, and you knew that his silence was a definite yes.
Totally stupid. But exactly how Fushiguro Megumi was always wired. A part of you was exasperated, but also forgave him for it.
When he met your gaze again, he finally saw the light returning to your eyes. It was a relief to him, so he let out a small sigh and put on a strained smile.
"How did you find me anyway?" you asked quietly.
"You didn't pick up my calls. I was worried. And then I ran around until I heard your voice." His eyes narrowed into a frown. "Did they do anything to you?"
You shook your head, and Megumi let out the breath he had been holding, gripping your right hand in his. "I’m glad."
You brushed away the trace of tears on your cheeks as he finished applying band-aids to your knees, awkwardly fiddling with your fingers.
"Sorry for being annoying," you mumbled softly, not meeting his eyes, feeling yourself so small all of a sudden. "Will totally happen again though."
"You..." Unwittingly, he cracked a smile at your blatant remark. "Just... don’t run off again, dummy. Do it where I can see you."
He ruffled your hair gently, then intertwined your fingers with his. "And sorry... for getting mad at you too."
Your cheeks felt warm, so you looked away, puckering your lips together. "...I'm hurt. You have to make it up to me."
He hummed, the beginnings of a smile on his face. "Let's go have that shaved ice you’ve been craving then."
“Huh? You remembered! But you don’t like them?”
“You like that kind of sugar dump, don’t you?”
Hand-in-hand, both of you traversed the Shibuya shopping district together. Your eyes were still puffy, but you were smiling and talking his ears off again just like you always did.
“I told those pricks my boyfriend will definitely kick their asses,” you giggled to yourself, swinging your joined hands in joy. “And you really did~”
“What are you talking about…?”
Sometimes you were beyond his comprehension. Sometimes you were also cute beyond comparison.
And Megumi thought... he liked you the best this way.

Hi! I normally don't really talk about MCYT on tumblr (because regardless of the site there is a pretty large chunk of fans who have no sense of boundaries with the creators and that makes me uncomfortable to be around), but I really want to touch on this.
Nobody asked for your feedback, because nobody wants it. It's not going to be implemented. And if you are about to say you are just ranting, then why did you tag it? If you want to rant into the void, then do so. There's no need to tag it if you don't want the creators to see it (many of them are on Twitter, Reddit, and Tumblr). And you aren't helping the series improve, because you make no one want to do the series.
The creators are all friends. They all agree on what gets put in the final cut of their episodes. If it's there, they all like it. Your comments are not needed.
This series is fiction. Everyone is playing a character to some extent and improving. It's fun and silly. No real people were harmed in the making of the Minecraft videos. But real people are harmed when you post disparaging remarks that would be better kept to yourself.
You don't know these people. They are not your friends. They do not need or want you "defending" them. In fact, you are hurting them by harassing their actual friends.
You are not going to like everything you see. Not even from your favorite creator. When that happens, you need to shrug and move on with your life.
These are real people guys. It's good you are invested in the series. But you can be invested without harassing the people making it.
Reminder to Minecraft Community that the creators are people
First off I'm not shaming just disappointed in you guys. You can dislike how Secret Life is going but don't rag on anyone in particular. They're all adults and can mention to each other when they feel like someone crossed a line. They're doing this for fun, we're just lucky enough to be a part of it.
Second, I want this to be a thing for the whole of the community. Don't go after other MC streamers and Youtubers because they made your favorite "look bad". You don't need to defend them and you don't need to attack others let the parties involved work it out amongst themselves.
I know a lot of this community can be pretty young and you're still learning how to be social with others. Just understand that there are actual people behind the other words on your screen. Give them the benefit of the doubt and try to be friendly.
If a streamer or youtuber you love does bad things you don't have to defend them. It hurts to have someone you like be in the wrong and you don't have to say goodbye to them forever but it's good to take a break and take a step back
#mcyt#secret life#neon's void#i don't think being young is an excuse or even an explanation#i never did that growing up and i used youtube and specifically MCYT#and all the creators emphasize over and over that the emotions are dramatized and no one should go harass others#so they aren't defending their fave or whatever they just want to be mean#also i think theres a lot of misogyny tbh#ppl in the comments were mean to cleo but not scott during double life#gem did the same thing that many of the male players have done and they got celebrated#during last life ppl mocked lizzy for her base and they didn't read as playing into the burnable joke just as mean#those are just the examples i remember and im sure there are more#and thats not to say the men get no crap from the audience (cough limited life ending cough) but that its less common in my notice

my kingdom for a function that will let you choose to exclude specific, individual posts from searches without having to shadowban your entire blog. i cannot overstate how much of this webbed site's most vicious drama this would have averted over the years. PLEASE staff for the love of god do this one thing i beg you it is not too late
#whosebaby talks#literally! i just want to be able to organize shit on my own blog in peace!#i refuse to use cutesy alt tags for Every Single Character or Piece of Media I Talk About to keep it from showing up in a tag#both because it's an organizational nightmare; and because--the arguably more important function it has--avoiding harassment#is only momentarily dodged by using alt tags#because overwhelmingly OMG STAY OUT OF OUR TAGS WE DON'T WANNA SEE THAT doesn't actually mean that#it means Don't Post Anything We Don't Like /At All/#so creeps and harassers would just find those cutesy alt tags and target people there#if anything it made it /easier for them to find targets all in one place/#and in my case a lot of it is a matter of wanting to be polite + avoiding Annoying People before they know i exist to start fights#but much more importantly avoiding being found in tags is a matter of Real Ass Safety because it greatly increases the risk of attracting#people who are just straight up fucking deranged; and on top of general trauma from being harassed and ostracized#they will talk about murdering you and tell you to kill yourself or dissolve your tongue in acid or say you deserved being abused#or sexually assaulted; and that they hope it happens again#they will do shit like doxx you or contact your workplace or try to get your kids taken away from you or mail a fucking bomb to your house#and more often than not these people will /stalk you for years/ once you've caught their eye#these people are fucking insane & all it takes is one post; & the entire community will at best turn a blind eye & refuse to get involved#at worst they will actively cheer it on; and they will mock you and act like you're paranoid and have a victim complex if you respond#accordingly to even the smallest expression of that rhetoric; because /you have no idea if you are going to become a statistic/#and avoiding all of that via tags is even more moot because of searches; you CANNOT have anything resembling safety unless you bend over#backward to mutilate your ability to search your blog; or make it impossible to engage in a community at all by shadowbanning yourself#the best i can think of is saying 'dick cock pussy' in the tags and hoping search yeets it#and again that's just the most urgent reason someone would want to avoid tags; i get pretty scathing about criticism of things i know that#people like on this blog; and have a very AND ANOTHER THING approach to stuff like that; and i don't want to spam or put out tons of#negativity where people can't avoid it at all; especially when it's in smaller less active fandoms; i would rather just be able to put out#shitposts and the occasional readmore'd measured; gathered; thoughtful essay on My Issues with a Thing#i try to add blacklistable tags for things like that but i know that's not very intuitive UI for people who don't read my blog#to know about my policies and aaaagggghhhhhh

my heart goes out to every bisexual who gets told they're "just straight" or "just gay". my heart goes out to every bisexual who gets told bisexuality isn't real. my heart goes out to every bisexual who has to pick between being viewed as all gay or all straight. my heart goes out to every bisexual who has to present as gay in order to be seen as queer. my heart goes out to every bisexual gay and every bisexual lesbian who gets told their identity isn't real. my heart goes out to every trans bisexual who has their orientation invalidated because they are trans. my heart goes out to every bisexual who is demonized for being sexually active for one reason or another.
my heart goes out to every closeted bisexual. my heart goes out to every bisexual who can't come out. my heart goes out to every aro and ace bisexual who get harassed by those around them for being sexually promiscuous because of their bisexuality when they don't have sex or partners. my heart goes out to every bisexual who ever has their bisexuality called into question. my heart goes out to every bisexual who gets told to not show up to pride or queer support groups because they're "in a heterosexual relationship." my heart goes out to every bisexual who views all of their modes of attraction as queer and those around them do not respect that.
my heart goes out to every bisexual. it is a challenge to be seen correctly as bi, and to not be harassed, mocked, or belittled for it. i see you for who you are- you are allowed to define your bisexuality. someone refusing to see you as bi doesn't mean you're not. you shouldn't have to prove your bisexuality or perform it for anyone. it's not up for debate. i hope things get a bit easier for you soon. you are bisexual no matter what anyone else says

☆༉ — RYOMEN SUKUNA. santa’s little helper.
about. dressing up as slutty santa warrants some unwanted attention, luckily, sukuna is there to play santa’s grumpy little helper. merry christmas.
warnings. minors, blank and ageless blogs do not interact! sfw, fluff, meet cute, reader gets harassed/cat-called, reader is wearing a dress, modern!sukuna, fem!reader. it’s still christmas somewhere - enjoy !! (1K).
you meet modern bf!sukuna at a train station on christmas eve.
all your friends have gone home with guys that they fancied from the club, all the ubers in the area are either booked out or have sky high prices just to get you thirty minutes away not to mention the fact that it’s ice cold and your stupid mean girls themed santa outfit keeps riding up.
if you huff hard enough a cloud of smoke appears in place of your breath — like that of a mighty dragon, accumulating in the night air. it entertains you for all but a moment and doesn’t waste enough time for your train to come faster.
it’s not due for another thirteen minutes.
in that time you watch gangs of girls, groups of guys and just about anybody come and go from the station. your platform isn’t packed but it’s not too empty to the point where you feel unsafe.
“hey pretty girl.” ugh. as if your night couldn’t get any worse, a dingy looking stranger appears from nowhere — breathing down your neck, nastily drinking you in as if you’re a free shot at a bar. like you’re easy.
waving your hand away, you focus your gaze on the platform across the track and pray that someone notices your predicament. “no thank you.”
“oh come on gorgeous, give a guy a chance!” they press, crossing all of your boundaries to be in your space. even as you try to walk away, you can still feel the ghost of their sleazy words against the bare and exposed parts of your skin.. “where are you going all dressed like that, with no one to admire you?”
on instinct, you pull down your skirts as if to hide yourself from greedy eyes — storming down the platform. “none of your business!”
“hey now, little miss santa! don’t you wanna know? i’ve got a sleigh you can ride!”
“not interested! i’m all good.”
“why? you got a boyfriend?”
“yeah, i do.” you lie smoothly.
“then where is he?” the stranger mocks and closes in on you — you look around pathetically, waiting for some good passer-by to come and help you.
a heavy hand land’s on the stranger’s shoulder — making them jump in shock. you watch as the hand squeezes down, almost tight enough to break bone. “right here,” says a gravelly, husky voice that instantly fills you with warmth and relief. stepping aside, your hero reveals himself — tall with rippling muscles and spiralling black tattoos, lazy blood red eyes and a snarl that reveals sharp fangs and canines. all topped off my tufts of soft pink hair, which don’t do anything to dim his threatening aura. “you got a problem?”
“n-no! sorry man, i didn’t—“
“fuck off, will ya?” your hero spits out venomously and the stranger nods — practically disappearing into thin air after that. your shoulders sag and tensions dissipate from your body. “you okay…miss?”
tentatively, you give the pink-haired man your name — you owe him that much after he’d more or less saved your skin. “all good, thanks to you…”
“sukuna.” he doesn’t look at you, instead pulling a pack of cigarettes from his back pocket and lighting one with a flicker of a flame. it’s like he feels you watching him in dismay, and laughs as he takes a drag. it’s kind of sexy, you’ll admit — the way he throws his head back let’s you see the thick lines of black ink extending down his neck. “ticket office is closed and security is shit here. small station. no one’s watching me smoke.”
“right…thanks, sukuna.”
he finally turns to you, deep and blood red eyes drinking you in — almost scrutinising you. you squirm under his gaze, heat prickling at the back of your neck and providing some protection from the cold. “where were you off too?”
“christmas party with some friends.”
“where are they now?”
“sucking face somewhere, and no, they didn’t offer me an Uber before they left.”
sukuna taps the ash from his cigarette and it falls away in the icy breeze. “shit night.”
wringing your fingers, you shrug a little bit. “i guess it could have been worse. so thank you for helping out,” you hum appreciatively. “all i have to do now is wait for this stupid train.”
a beat of silence passes between you both, only broken by your chattering teeth and sukuna’s occasional sniff between puffs of smoke. you hate smokers, but you don’t ask him to stop. not after he’d helped you and is willing to be your human shield until your train comes. anyone else would have left by now.
“i can give you a ride home, if you want?”
you frown… was he, trying to make a move on you?
“if you have a car why are you at a train station.”
sukuna smirks slowly, dropping his cig to the floor and crushing it under his sneaker. you don’t remind him that there’s a law against smoking on the platform. “i’m waiting for my little brother to get home from a trip with his friends. we don’t live too far from here and i offered to pick him up from the station.” he shrugs.
you blink up at him with wide eyes. you’d never imagine a man that looks and carries himself like he does to care so deeply for someone else. you suppose you’re judging a book by his cover.
you’re dressed like slutty santa, so you honestly have no right to do so.
“what’s your brother’s name?”
“yuuji. it’s just us, no parents. that’s why i’m picking him up.” sukuna turns to you, running a hand through his messy pink undercut. “look, i promise i’m not some creep. y’just look cold and i’m not about to let some girl get fucked over by weirdos at this time of night. i won’t touch you, but you can sit in the back with yuuji if it makes you feel better. people usually prefer his stupid face over mine anyways.” he mumbles that last part to himself, but is pleasantly surprised by the cute flutter of laughter that escapes you. “what’s s’funny?”
with a hand resting on your bare stomach, you try to contain yourself. “is it the tattoos or the fact that you have resting bitch face?”
“both.” sukuna sniggers in response, shoving his cold hands deep into his pockets. “so, you takin’ up the offer or what?”
“yeah, thank you…sukuna,” you smile, subtly sliding up beside him for warmth on the chilly platform. “i’d like to meet yuuji for myself, see which brother i prefer.”
“oh fuck you.”
“maybe some other time.”
and even though he’s sure that you’re joking, sukuna detects a glint of honestly in your sparkling eyes as the train finally approaches — it’s yellowing light from inside the carriage only illuminating that spark. you turn your head, trying to spot yuuji while he ponders your words.
sukuna is definitely going to ask for your number after he drops you home. he’ll have to thank that brat of a baby brother yuuji for the opportunity next — without him begging for sukuna to come get him, this would have never happened.
you would have never met.
it’d be a great christmas story to tell the grandkids too. so he’d really have to thank yuuji, even though sukuna would never hear the end of it.

HI!!! so i am obsessed with your reader x coworker james first kiss fic. can we maybe get something about what came after? like how were the interactions the day or week after, how did they behave around each other, did james tell the boys or was he too nervous?
—you and James maintain a facade that Remus sees through
James wheels his chair to be as far from you as possible. He leans back, turns his monitor. Through the gap, he has a perfect window of your face without it being obvious that he’s staring. Well, sort of.
Stop staring.
James reads Remus’ slack message in surprise. He glances at you, finds you still snacking on chocolate covered somethings less covertly than you mean to be, and decides to grace his friend with a message back.
Nope
James, Remus messages.
I’m not really staring
You’re staring. She can definitely tell
James looks back to you, hoping to prove Remus wrong, but you’re staring straight at him. He has the instinct to look away and the sense not to, charmed into grinning when you squint at him, your mock suspiciousness adorable.
“James,” Remus says, clearing his throat.
James pulls his gaze away reluctantly. “What?”
“Can you answer my email?”
The email isn’t an email, but another slack message. Are you serious right now? You couldn’t be more obvious if you tried
James flicks a pen lid at him. “Obvious about what?” he mouths.
You get up and stretch, tactically failing to meet anyone’s eyes as you pick up your empty glass of water and leave.
“James, what’s going on?”
“What ever could you mean, my love?”
Remus rolls his chair toward. “Don’t flirt with me. I’m serious, what the hell is going on with you? You’re supposed to hate the girl.”
“Hate is such a strong word.”
“Well, you’re being a bit much no matter what.”
James bites his cheek in a hurry to straighten up. “You think so?”
Remus just stares at him.
James has done a fantastic job at keeping your kiss a secret. He doesn’t know how, mind you —you kissed him, you kissed him, you asked if you could and you kissed him like a sweetheart with the softest mouth he’s ever had the fortune to feel pressed against his own.
Since your kiss, he’s been feeling weirdly poetic. He totally gets all those Carol Ann Duffy poems they made him read at school now.
One day without telling anybody is impressive, at least to his own standards. “I know what I’m doing,” he says.
Remus frowns. “I’d love to be informed on what exactly that is.”
“Certain events have transpired and convinced me that I was quite wrong to have judged our girl so harshly.”
“Certain events?”
“I’m allowed some mystery,” James says, before smiling so hard it makes him squint and his cheeks apple. He rubs at his face roughly in an attempt to move forward, but he remembers the way your kiss had melded from soft and shy to hungry. Fuck, he loved it. He needs another one. He has no idea how to get it. “Ugh, I’m gonna go get my lunch from the fridge.”
“Sure you are. Alright, well, I’m gonna find Sirius and maybe he can convince you to start acting normal again.”
James goes to the kitchen first but abandons his charade when you aren’t there. He grabs his lunch, tucking it under his arm as he makes his way through to the break room. You’re thankfully, blissfully, sitting by the open window with a shop-bought salad.
He nods at the chair across from you. “Can I sit?”
“Yes.”
“That’s all you're eating?” he asks. A little tray of salad is hardly enough to keep you going until the end of the day. “I have gyoza chilli noodle soup, it’s amazing.”
“You’re gonna eat it cold?” you ask.
He leans forward, elbows on the table, holding your gaze. “No, but I’m busy right now.” He needs time to look you over. Every time he realises how pretty you are is like another beat of his capering pulse.
“Don’t harass me.”
“I’m not harassing you.”
“What would you call this?” You stab a few pieces of lettuce onto your fork. “I can’t have much more for dinner, I just had half a packet of chocolate covered strawberries.”
“Don’t say that, like some snacks and a salad are more than you’re allowed. Here, I'll warm this up and you can share. You’ll really like it, the gyoza are amazing.”
“So what, you’re gonna take care of me now?” you ask. You’re teasing, but there’s a slight edge of bitterness to it like you believe what you’re saying. James is swift to set that right, though he stays speaking in tongues with you.
“I’ve been trying to.” James can hear footsteps at the doorway, and besides, you’re right, he’s being too nice. He sucks in an unbothered breath. “Whatever, loser, stick to your sad salad.”
Your eyes widen. “I don’t want your cold soup, you idiot.”
Sirius and Remus filter in with one of your coworkers just behind them. “I thought you said he was being weird?” Sirius asks. “He seems pretty normal to me.”
Remus sighs forlornly, prompting a side hug from his boyfriend as he shepherds him to the table where you and James are sitting.
“He’s always being weird,” you say.
James kicks your foot gently. You pick through your salad with a poorly concealed smile.
