Alright i am getting into this why not let's fucking do it. I think it can be both. I think Just Kidding Rowling was genuinely trying to make something nice and while her approach was incredibly heavy handed and racist and bigoted and fucked up, it did have a core of wanting to resonate with the disenfranchised and giving a little bit of magic and power and the possibility to think of yourself as worthy and deserving of more despite being rejected your whole life. I think it has to do with finding a community that genuinely respects you and is like you and sees you as magical instead of aberrant. That resonated with a lot of queer, POCs, and/or generally disenfranchised people and I genuinely think that it is a core part of those books that the transphobe antisemite wanted to convey. We cannot pretend like only Good People make Good Art and Bad People make Bad Art. I think that they wanted to give the concept much more depth and, in the same ways that many SPN fanfic writers see the potential for a great story without homophobic CW (and others) adherence to the concept of morality as a trend and a meeting with censors and producers.

Like, I genuinely think the motherfucker who calls herself "Quiddie" has genuine love for the potential and the core concept of what hairy ceramic-craftman could have been if it truly committed to the core good intention of making a story where the disenfranchised feel like they can be special without throwing other people under the bus and actually listening and learning and depicting with honour and respect.

Like, they made it their own. Because it is a good idea. And one that was celebrated in its time for good reason. And one that is criticised in our time for good reason as well.

So they took the idea that JoAnus Killer Rotting insists she owns and showed everyone how it can be better, actually. BOTH IN FICTION AND OUT OF FICTION.

saw a tweet that referred to mismag as a "love letter" to harry potter. no, it isn't. that just isn't true. "charlie brown had hoes"-level accusation. if anything, mismag is hatemail to harry potter. it's a "fuck you, you don't own magical schools, we're gonna make a whimsical magical school and read you for filth while we're doing it" letter.

I this this on a a japanese song only playlist and a wave of hiperfixation. So heres the context: Yuno (Yuu) and Leona were newly married and lived on his family’s land. i think childe likes to be mothered in a very concerning way. he'll want to be the man of the house while you stay at home and keep everything nice and clean and tidy and warm. he'll want to have you see him off and greet him with warm, open arms when he gets home, holding him in your embrace as he "accidentally" shoves his face into your cleavage. he'll want to have meals at the dinner table where he discusses his day and how hard it was, how happy he is to have someone like you to look after him. i can see him being pretty obsessive with you, monitoring your every interaction because why are you paying attention to someone that's not him? smiling at someone else instead of him? again? he's warned you time and time again about this, now he's got to get his hands dirty once again, but that's okay. he knows that even when he arrives home covered in blood you'll welcome him with that sweet, sweet smile, and tell him everything's going to be okay.

i do think its really funny in comparison too, remembering my silly little rat aus. especially now. like, when i was still entertaining the thoughts of expressing the beastlets in longer comic form (asterisk) theres some bits that were like. Exactly The Same between the two. a narrative as a stage; a character as a Concept expressed within (but not quite confined to) its bounds.

its playing with things i dont quite have the experience to elaborate on, but still find fascinating. its kind of like the attitude going into musicals (. ha. iykyk i guess;) in which its very brazenly What It Is. focusing not on the Logistics of Why they sing, but what it means that they Are. what it means that they do it in That Way. less about the logic of it, and more of the Feeling. a soliloquy only heard by an audience, a director perhaps; not quite questioning the deconstruction of the bounds of the set; but understanding what it means that you can suddenly See them. for a brief, terrifying moment, everything makes sense; and you speak. theres no lines to memorize because the lines were always within you. they Are you.

the beastlets have only just recently begun toying with the concept, but it Has come up before. again, it plays with the concepts of an After. "After;" as an implication, an unfulfilled promise. it exists, but it doesnt quite matter. a play always ends. so too does a story, a fable. but for all intents and purposes, an "after" doesnt matter to an audience. characters go offstage, offscreen, and we are left with the idea of a 'next'. but usually, it simply Is as it Was. as it were. this is getting away from me.

whos to say if it ever actually gets there; but the heart of it is the same. its a layer of disconnect to invoke the feeling of Safety. a burrow, a nest, a little terrarium. even if they Were to break down the frames of the pages, its all still real to them. it all still matters. over and over, it asks you to care, and asks you to care; to participate, to understand, to play along; to see it and genuinely accept it for what it is; what it means. to understand what it means when they walk on stage and meet your eyes, then bow; together.

but who knows, really.
