a/n: making this short and sweet cause i been itching to write smth for mia soooo. promise all the other things will come out soon they’re really close to being done :( title will make sense at the end. didn’t know how to finish 💔

mia’s been blabbering about all the little animals and fish here at the aquarium you took her to for a date. it was something small to clear her head from whatever was going on at school, and it was obviously working.

she was more cheery than usual today which brought big amounts of relief to you. she had been much more chit chattier than most days as well. “baby? do you see that starfish over there? it has all these little brown dots and it’s called a ‘chocolate chip seastar’ or the protoreaster nodosus.” mia smiles brightly and looks at you, hoping you understood everything she said. “yeah, that’s cute.” you murmur and smile back, grabbing her hand again when she starts to wander off.

all you can really do is stare at her dumb outfit. overalls and those big hats like she was a tourist coming here for the first time. plus she had that little aquarium pamphlet at all times that was handed out when you guys came in. you threw yours away, but mia had instantly started to read through it.

she ends up leading you into those glass tunnels that give people a good view of all the shark and fish. the first one she spots is the whale shark, her blue eyes becoming all big and the pressure she has on your hand getting tighter. “ooohhh!! i love these big guys so much, babe, i think they’re my favorites out of every other one…” mia blurts.

you watch her eyes follow the dang thing around as it swims inside slowly. “because of their size they move superrr slow. i think at least 3 miles an hour.” her voice is slightly high pitched, and thats how you know she’s excited. the white of her knuckles while she grips your hand confirms what you think as well.

“oh! and these leopard sharks… they have a seventh sense! it can help them detect EMF fields in the water and they have teeth on their skin.” while she talks, all you can do is admire the way she looks and how she’s confident enough to talk about what she likes with you. that’s all that matters to you in a relationship.

“t- that’s really, really cool, mimi…” you muster up, a hot red flush rising up your face and a nervous smile crossing it. it’s not normal for you to get nervous around someone, but this feeling was incredibly different. “i appreciate you telling me about this.” you mumble, your words coming out all mushy and soft. something about this just makes you feel all tingly inside.

her eyes are all big, just like yours, her jaw slightly slack at the thought of you being anxious around her. “are you… are you nervous? around me?” mia laughs quietly and takes both of your hands into hers. her touch is soft like it always has been, her fingers running over your palm carefully.

“yes?! no! i- i don’t know! i just think you’re really pretty talking about all your nerdy stuff like that!” you blurt out and quickly let go of her hands, yours flying over to cover your mouth. there’s an even darker shade of red that washes over your face again and you can’t help but look away towards the sharks and fish.

“right… cause whale shark talk makes you nerves go off.” she scoffs, but softens up when she realizes that you’re actually feeling this way around her. the anxious fidgeting with your fingers and the constant stutters she hardly noticed. you’d think after at least 2 months of dating her you’d be able to hold them in. “y’know, i’ve always been super nervous around you too.” mia whispers.

“yeah, sure.”

“i’m serious. you should’ve seen me when i started talking to you.” her eyebrows cock up for a second and she cups your cheek with her hand, slowly turning your head to the side so you can look at her. your arms cross over your chest and it feels like a bunch of words are stuck in your throat.

“guess that makes us a perfect pair?” mia giggles and looks up at you, her face inching just a smidge bit closer. her lips ghost over your skin and all the nerves paint themselves on your face, making it more obvious. “yeah! we’re perfect..”

So.. that thing with Ghost?, sayin he's as Clingy as a Slime rancher slime.. Yeah you just gave me a beautiful idea. Sooo Slime Rancher!141, But intead of it being 'Taskforce' its 'Tar force' and they basically do a large clean up of Tars all over their area/ranch. Price being the oldest Rancher of 141 and Ghost the newest. Aaa I just love the idea of them having their own little unique Slimes, lowkey seein Gaz have a whole array of slimes that he finds endearing!

☆ Okay so this guy being the oldest rancher (not by much, but still with so much experience)?? Love that idea

☆ He would definitely have favorite slimes, those being pink slimes because of their simplicity (and they don't cause too much of a ruckus) and phosphor slimes. They help light the way when he's out late at night

☆ He would adore going on late night walks with you, hunting for some more slimes or clearing up tar. I have the hc that he enjoys wood carving and has definitely carved a small wood figurine of your favorite slime

☆ Him being the newest yet somehow managed to be on of the best in such a short time? The slimes love him but the chickens hate him :( he doesn't know why

☆ His favorite slime is the tabby cat slime, he likes how micheveous they are and how much they move around (and he just likes cats but that's not the point) He has Gaz feed the chickens because they refuse to be fed by him 😢

☆ He would enjoy doing activities with you during the daytime and resting with you at night. He loves taking care of the slimes with you and always makes sure your energy is up and you aren't hurt

☆ Everyone loves him. Every single slime, every single chicken, everyone. Literally captures slimes in seconds because they already trust him after about 5 minutes,,, Chickens adore him, they eat more whenever he's the one feeding them

☆ Very protective over the chickens, hates whenever he comes back and sees them gone :( He has names for them and everything. His favorite slimes are the water slimes 🩷 Loves taking care of them in their little ponds

☆ Taking care of the chickens and water slimes with you? Favorite thing for him to do. He'll joke around and throw water at you, leading the water slimes to shoot water back at him (he never learns his lesson)

Soap

☆ Has so much fun chasing down chickens and saving them. Has even more fun chasing down slimes. He likes the huge ones and the ones that cause more ruckus and are harder to catch because of the huge sense of pride it gives him

☆ Favorite slimes are the lava slime and Gold slime, mainly because of how the lava slime heats him up in winter and how hard it is to catch the gold slime. Has names for them and treats them like his kids

☆ He likes going on walks with you and doing work while you two hold hands and talk or resting somewhere and eating while you recharge your energy

So I've been rereading skip beat from the beginning for the first time in uhhhhh almost 10 years and I'm going inSaNE over characterizations and development that I have to write it down

At this point I'm only at the Heel siblings arc so I haven't gotten to the Guam or Saena arcs which are very big for Kyoko and Ren's character development and healing which I haven't reread since those chapters came out

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Nakamura for basing Kyoko and Ren's childhood struggles and trauma on very real things that aren't often, if at all, dealt with in anime/manga and also writing them with utmost care (Not only do the traumas inform their personalities, but their healing arcs aren't just a one and done thing!! It's a very slow process) Like starting with Kyoko, her single mother neglected her so much that she was raised by a family friend. On top of that, nothing Kyoko did was ever good enough for her mother, and both of these things are so apparent in Kyoko's character. She attaches herself to fairytales and magic as an escapism and because she relates to stories like Cinderella. She literally cannot function if she messes up and no one criticizes her. She can't properly acknowledge her own talents and beauty without it being attached somehow to fairytales; she never quite believes shes good enough. Similarly, she didn't want to bother anyone with her troubles, so she always dealt with them alone/in private spaces. Pretty sure she also has lowkey abandonment issues. And this is all parental trauma!! Things she already has before the series starts and she gets so utterly heartbroken she swears off romantic love entirely so she can never get hurt the same way again.

(I don't think I'll ever get over how Kyoko told all this to Kuu and he was literally like I'm adopting you. Your mine now. Sorry I don't make the rules ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And Kuu going home to his wife like hey we got a new kid 😂 Like Kyoko freezing up when she made mistakes and then Kuu showing her love instead of reprimanding her makes me go 🥹😩💖✨😭💝 Kyoko getting all fluffy from head pats🥹🥹 But on the downside she literally can't bring herself to call him dad unless she's in acting mode sjdfhsf)

When I really consider it, I wonder if Kyoko really loved Sho as a person or like.... the idea of him. Like he was just a convenient guy via proximity bc Kyoko needed someone to be her "prince". We haven't been shown exactly why she fell in love, but it would explain why she stuck with dedicating herself to him despite his terrible personality and knowing he never saw her the same way. It's portrayed like the concept of hatsukoi in anime where its ✨pure✨and innocent✨It seems very idealistic. Whereas Kyoko's love for Ren is more mature. She sees every aspect of Ren and doesn't sugarcoat it, she sees him as he is (she does him up on a pedestal but partially bc she admires him but also as an extreme measure to protect her heart and hide her feelings imo)

And REN. trauma to the max. He had to deal with the hardships of making a name for himself when his parents are already famous, extreme racism from being biracial, his friend/mentor dying from an accident he unintentionally caused???? Like boy hates himself so much he's literally disassociating 24/7 he needs a fucking therapist. I get how being Ren has helped him in some capacity but he needs a professional asap. Though deep diving into this is so interesting because Ren/Kuon compartmentalized his issues and the parts that he hates about himself so much he created its own persona ("Dark Kuon"), to the point he's rarely ever just himself. And he buried it so deep that as soon as he cracked the lid open, those emotions just spilled out. He can't even allow himself to be happy, and when he does feel truly happy, his automatic response is acting nonchalant,,,,,,,,,,,, he didn't even realize he was doing it at first 😢

Also the symbolism with Ren's watch makes me go a little feral. I don't remember if it's originally his or Rick's but it obviously stopped when the latter died and Ren keeps it as a reminder of what happened and why he went to Japan. It's a weird item since it grounds him but also represents his heavy trauma, and I think having those two things in one kinda showcases Ren's unhealthy coping mechanisms (like grounding himself to something traumatic isn't... great...). But that scene where he realizes he took it off and he has a moment of whether it to keep it on as Cain Heel or not??? *clenches fist* it was so good. (To recap it, he had his watch so he wouldn't lose himself in the role of BJ and then forgot it in the bathroom after an unexpected trauma response) Ren narrates his thoughts as choosing between Rick or Kyoko but interpreting this, he's choosing whether to keep himself stuck in his past trauma or move forward and let himself be happy AKA stick with unhealthy coping mechanisms vs try something healthy and rely on people he trusts. Kyoko essentially becomes someone Ren grounds himself to 🥺 He still needs therapy though lmao. He's so mentally unstable in this arc,,,

As I'm writing this I'm seeing a parallel between Kyoko and Ren and how they both had an experience that completely and utterly broke them, and it was this that pushed them onto their current paths in showbiz. And they likely would never have met each other again if those things never happened (they had to lose themselves to find each other?? 😭). It's so funny to me that Ren is all like ThEiR fAtEs ArE iNtErTwInEd with Kyoko and Sho when you have to consider the fact that him and Kyoko meeting again was like. a chance in a billion. It was fate 😂

KyoRen is such a poetic ship to me. The fact that they're different people when they meet and don't recognize the other. How Ren starts falling in love AS SOON AS HE REALIZES KYOKO IS THE SAME GIRL HE MET (Ren being gray/demiromantic.... more at 5). Kyoko lowkey starting to crush on Ren when she witnesses a bit of his real personality. These two things happening around the same time??????? And Ren being SO afraid of being Kuon, his true self, because of his bad qualities, but Kyoko pulling out the good qualities without him fully realizing it?? (I'm 100% referring to Kuon being a mischievous little shit and I live for how he teases Kyoko) tbh they treat each other differently from other people without even realizing it lol. And Kyoko being surrounded by toxic and possessive men pursuing her, and Ren being anything BUT. Like my man is a gigantic green flag. He recognizes that he can't seriously pursue Kyoko bc she's a minor and he really tries his best to only be a friend and mentor in her life and keeping her trust and never crossing her boundaries despite the stereotypes of men being "unable to control themselves." I have to talk about Sho bc this boy is so fucking toxic but he makes such a fascinating character. As much as I hate how Kyoko got heartbroken in the way she did, I think it was necessary so that she could leave Sho's sorry ass and cut him out of her life. Seriously,,,, he took advantage of her and used her as a servant. she literally dropped out of school, moved to a different city, and took on two jobs for the sole purpose of helping his career and then he threw her away like a used rag (JUST THROW THE WHOLE MAN AWAY). And then he has the audacity to fall in love with her smh. Anyway the fascinating part about him to analyze is how he's so possessive of Kyoko. Like she was a mere fly in his life, but she was always his. Until she wasn't. And I think those twisted thoughts kinda morphed into feelings for Kyoko. Ig in a way he still cares about her, but it could never hide how toxic he is. Anyone who's like I don't care how this person thinks of me as long as I take up the biggest space in their heart is egotistical and narcissistic. BUT he and Kyoko bickering like siblings will always be funny. Like epitome of two people who've lived with each other for way too long so they know how the other ticks and also get on each other's nerves 😂😂Sho does makes a good foil for Ren though. Like he's basically everything Ren is not: immature, temperamental, possessive, vain, the list goes on. His only redeeming qualities as a character is providing good drama and humor and being an example of what Ren isn't.

You do not like going over to Tanjiro’s house at all.

Not that it was his house or anything about him. He’s such a sweetheart and always does his best to accommodate for you, and his house was really nice as well. Always super clean and everything was super organized as well. The only downside was the stupid dog that terrorized every person place or thing it came in contact with.

Everywhere it went it had way to much energy for almost any human, except tanjiro at least. It was much too big for its own good and still thought it was a lap dog at his big size. Super touchy as well always rolling around or trying to persuade somebody into petting it. Much to big, much to fur, much to friendly for your liking. Worse of all, that dog went everywhere with Tanjiro. It was pretty much his child at this point.

If you saw Tanjiro walking down the street near your house? He’s walking the dog. Going to the store? He’s buying something for his dog, and if they allow it the dog coming inside with him. Eating something? The dog has a designated seat at the table to eat with him to. Tanjiro is nearby? His dog is nearby to. The little parasiteー in your words would never go away.

Not to say you didn’t like animals or pets, you adored them to an extent. Especially cats. The much better pet option far superior than any dog could be that cat you had would beat Tanjiro dog for miles at anything. The little feline was so docile, couldn’t do anything wrong. Even Tanjiro enjoyed your cats presence, although he still tried to persuade you to give his dog a chance.

“I promise you he’s really not that bad, he’s just super friendly can you blame him?” Tanjiro ask while following you into the kitchen while you go prepare yourself a snack. “I really can blame him.” you reply without a second thought as your eyes drift back into Tanjiro. “Dogs are just.. ew nothing good about them.” The boy sighs while grabbing something for himself. “C’mon he doesn’t even bite.. he’s so nice!”

He’s really trying his hardest to get you to connect with his dog. He knows you’ve never been a fan of any dogs specifically, and maybe his just is a breed you hate more than others. He still has some hope for you, you gotta at least warm up to the idea of it! Besides his dog already loves you anyways you gotta show some love back right?

On your side of the story nothing Tanjiro could really say would sway your opinion. You’ve seen that dog and you seen how big it is and that’s already one to many signs for you. You have a witness and somebody else on your side at the same time! Tanjiro’s little sister, Nezuko. She’s even told you some of the problems with the dog they own! “Very big, very friendly to! To friendly sometimes..” is what she says and that’s all the evidence you needed. Though she does still take Tanjiro side most of the time.

The boy only sighs once again before an idea comes into his mind. He turns to look at you once more before shuffling beside you, Your cat trailing behind him. He stares up at you biting back a smile that would reveal his intentions. “Could you at least come over this weekend? My dog is going to be gone for two weeks for training, unfortunately..” he says, trailing off on the last part to grab your attention. You only turn your head once you hear the words “dog” and “gone” leave his lips.

You blink for a moment before a smile appears on your lips at his idea. “Sure, but only because the dog isn’t here alright.” you announced as a big grin is plastered on Tanjiro’s lips as his excitement comes to a peak. His arms wrap around you bringing you into a hug as you hug him back. Laughing at how much excitement he was showing.

It’s to late when you realize he was lying to you completely.

The weekend rolls around and you stand Infront of Tanjiro door. It’s a breath of fresh air being able to visit him once again. You knock on his door and can hear his footsteps coming down the stairs. The door swings open as Tanjiro invites you inside and you’re quick to step in. You almost forgot how nice his house looked after being away for so long, it was nice to enjoy seeing it again. Taking off your shoes you give Tanjiro a hug as he shows up all the new decoration he’s put in his living room.

You stare at everything as you admire the room. Almost missing Tanjiro’s words as he mutters a quick “be right back!” before disappearing somewhere inside of his house. You only continue looking knowing he’ll be back in a moment, staring at all the new pictures framed around the room and on the wall. You’re not fazed by the pitter patter of footsteps coming down from the stairs as you simply sit yourself back on the couch assuming it was Tanjiro.

To your dismay, it was not Tanjiro.

You only look up from a second when you don’t hear him walk over to the couch. Your eyes drift up only to see a patch of fur, and to your horror it’s his dog standing in the living room. You look at it for a long time, and it stares back at you for a long time. The dog is the first one to break eye contact and look away into the kitchen as you take the chance to look away as well. Maybe Tanjiro did bring it to training and it will just walk away. Maybe it can sense your “I don’t want you near me at all” energy and walk away from you. Just maybe.

The dog doesn’t follow any of your theories one bit as it soon charges at you. Jumping onto the couch and nearly onto your lap if you didn’t stand up quick enough. Irritation quickly creeps up to your throat as you’re only able to yell out “TANJIRO!” To hear him snickering around the corner. His dog doesn’t make it any better as it rubs and circles around your leg.

Well, you won’t be coming back to his house anytime soon.

ok first of all, WHAT A SEASON. there was so much suspense and I LOVED it. I also was so much more attached to the dinosaurs this time, I'm usually more about the characters but they were so cutie pie (rip suchomimus I loved you buddy...)

you may have seen this coming, you may not’ve but i think you and bokuto koutarou would be a perfect match!

- what i mostly see bokuto being like in other writers fics etc. is that he’s very all over his s/o and is extremely involved in his relationship, which i don’t think is necessarily true

in haikyuu it’s canon that bokuto is an enthusiastic guy but we can’t forget he’s also obsessed with his own title and being involved with volleyball

overall i think that bokuto is a fun, outgoing guy and in a relationship i feel like he would be as involved as he could, but the type of person bokuto looks for is someone he’s so close with that neither of them have to worry and stress about how much either of them care for eachother, becuase it will always be the maximum amount that they can show, which is where the trust and loyalty comes into play

•…the decision to restart the cast all the way back to childhood post-killing the tree in Our Wonderland. Initally I didn’t really consider the narrative and symbolic implications of it and felt „betrayed” that all the character development + growth was „for nothing”. While it partially is by the very nature of the twist, narratively that is LITERALLY THE POINT(overanalaysed this in that one post about the drive towards „true(best) endings” in VNs and how that related to both Our Wonderland and Iggy as a protagonist).

Honestly, I never used to think or worry about when or how I'd lose interest in a fandom. Yeah, it's inevitable, but I typically just enjoy what time I have and accept the end when it comes. It's mostly been a gradual thing, so by the time I'm out, my interest is dead in the water.

Endgame, however, has scarred me for life in this regard. That movie was a cold shock in the cinema, and it was only downhill from there. Now I'm lowkey scared of that repeating with JJK. With Bleach, it wasn't an issue because I got into the fandom well aware of how it ended, what I liked, what I hated, and what I could ignore.

The thing about JJK is that it's not so perfect that I'm entirely content with canon but also not so terrible that I want nothing to do with it. It's a good, fun series with great concepts and highly uneven execution—the sweet spot of creative drive, for me.

Fingers crossed I'll survive whatever Gege's got planned for the remaining four chapters 🤞

•however curly was just annoying as hell on the drums so he was pushed to stick w guitar, he kept doing that “ba dum tsss” shit w the drums when something happened and nobody could take it anymore

•pony hated the drums bc it was always so loud and it pissed him off so bad, he was so happy when curly was taken off those drums man😭

•they both teamed up a lot when it was time to just practice, they did get the job done tho, its not that the class was THAT hard or anything, theyre both pretty artistic, the would rlly just fuck around and laugh, they did practice, but they got it pretty quick so they didnt spend too long on it

•when it came time for everyone to come together to practice the song as a whole, pony and curly were giggling to themselves bc more chances than not they sounded like shit all together, these mfs sounded tone deaf, but other times they just cringe bc they cover songs they actually like and its just completely fucked up

•they HATEEEE performing in front of everyone, angela doesnt take the music class they take, she takes chorus (more like is forced to) and she always SPECIFICALLY looks out for curly to laugh in his face

•once the teacher held a recital and tim, soda, and darry showed up and tim was like rodrick in greg’s talent show, just recording for blackmail later on, darry and soda was supportive but that didnt make pony any less better he wanted to DIE on stage

•dont even get them started on the wind instrument unit.

•would this REALLY b papercut if i didnt say that curly would use this class especially to flirt w pony with little to no restraint bc he could just tell the teacher that they were so close bc he was trying to teach pony the proper hand placements and he was so near his ear bc it was loud as hell🤨🤨🤨

•taking those instruments home was hell on the both of them, neither of them bring fucking backpacks to school so holding the instruments around felt so weird to em

•usually darry doesnt allow the bedroom door to b closed when curlys around, but bc theyre “practicing their instruments” he allows it BUT he does pop in more frequently to make sure they do NOT match each others freaks

•that dont stop curly though he WILL get kissed in that room one way or another, if theyre kissing and they hear the door knob jiggle, they just quickly pull away and pretend they r discussing the music sheet
