This is a good time to talk again about how important the relationship between the Inquisitor and Solas is, regardless if it's a romantic one or not (maybe with even more weight and clarity on Solas’ character when it’s not the romance version because there’s less of those muddy feelings).
The way their connection, the trust and respect they have for each other, form and take shape during Inquisition is so organic and meaningful. Fen’Harel is a prideful bastard who doubles down on the things he knows even if they are wrong because he thinks it’s on him to fix them, and his arrogance keeps him blind to other options. But Solas, the one that walked by the Inquisitor’s side is, at the end of Trespasser, giving the Inquisitor the chance to ‘live well while time remains.’ But he knows them, he knows that the Inquisitor won’t be spending that time running away from this. That is Solas’ way of asking for help without saying ‘Please, don’t let me be right. Please find another way. Time is all I can give, see you at the end.’
And that is one amazing and strong connection, and a proof of trust, maybe even more so if the Inquisitor is not of elven origin, but a dwarf, qunari or human.
This isn’t meant to take away something from anyone. It's just that a lot of the focus in these online conversations falls on a Lavellan relationship or a romantic relationship, and the story of the inquisitor and Solas has more nuance to it, an often less talked about one.

Inquisition kinda left me high and dry in terms of the world building for Well of Sorrows so my personal thoughts
> Inquisitor essentially becomes a vessel for Mythal, kind of like Flemmeth but not an active one. Post Tresspasser inquisitor can hear her voice vaguely from time to time, but more of a passive observer rather than an active force. Think a much more controlled version of what Anders had going on.
> Inquisitor can read ancient Elven without realizing
>The voices can occasionally get so loud that they can't hear what's going on or get jolted awake
> Mage Inquisitor has a much larger mana reserve and replenishes it much faster. They can almost entirely stop using Lyrium potions outside of isolated cases.
> Due to the presence of a spirit, Inquisitor becomes susceptible to magic that targets spirits despite being alive. Inquisitor can face issues with spiritual traps, areas with disrupted lyrium flow, and feels the effects of the veil much stronger. This does make communication with spirits much easier.
> As the Anchor is magical, post losing the arm, mage Inquisitor would have a much larger scar spreading up towards their shoulder and chest due to it using the natural magic flowing through their veins. The scar will follow along major blood vessels. It will be a much more prominent one as the disrupted flow of magic would make it resistant to magical healing.
> Inquisitor has an extended lifespan due to Mythals presence. Were Mythal to be exorcised from their body, their aging would resume as normal.

[Image Description: Two unfinished digital paintings / sketches of the hatchling and Hal from outer wilds. they are standing with their arms around each other and the hatchling has their head leaning on hal's shoulder as hal watches the supernova in the distance through the doorway of the museum. the first image is the scene viewed from behind with everything lit in bright blue with dark shadows. the second image shows hal's face looking in fear towards the light and is only partially colored, the rest sketched over a gray background. End Image Description.]

Davy: /explaining Right To Roam to the guys
Mike, a man from Texas: Wait…you don’t just pull guns on people who step on your property and threaten to shoot them instantly?
Davy: …no?
Mike: What the fuck
Micky: Aw man we're gonna have to turn around, there's no way across.
Davy: There's literally a giant field here, can't we just run across it?
Farmer: *cocks gun* No.

ooc. oh man are we doing student aus, grad school ruby already has a double major bachelors in business and accounting, and she’s pursuing a master’s in library sciences and accounting while also working part time at the university’s library. She has her service dog named Einstein at her side, and while she may come across as cold and brusque, she has a few extremely close friends that have the extreme pleasure of having her turn up Inside their dorm rooms/apartments unannounced with dinner and stacks and stacks of homework.

Found out yesterday that my boss (in a fucking government call centre) not only was a prisoner in a high security jail for five years, but because it was under a false conviction, when he was let out he got a large payout and then he decided to turn around and get a job working at that very same prison as a corrections officer...
And all I could think as he told me this was 'did you somehow go to the fictional Australian prison Wentworth????'

alexei doesn't tend to read to others as someone with a lot of pathos — not that he doesn't obviously care about the things he cares about, but he moves through the world a little like he's untouchable. like the bad stuff rolls off his shoulders.
but the thing is, the most identity - defining moment, for him, is when he failed to save his baby sister from being imprisoned by people he knew would hurt her. the moment he most defines himself by is the moment he failed to save his baby sister.
he kept tabs on rowan, after she'd been exiled alongside him. he tried to keep tabs on inessa, though the ostwick circle was strict enough he wasn't able to do much. he needs to take care of them. he believes he needs to take care of them. they reunite in inquisition and it just gets worse — believing that rowan's died protecting haven destroys him, and cullen and cassandra both have to physically drag him out because he intends to stay and die with her.
alexei doesn't — other people describe him as funny and smart and loving and incorrigible and a flirt and everyone's big brother. but alexei doesn't consider himself those things, or at least he doesn't care about them. alexei considers himself a protector, a shield for his sister and his cousin, and he's failed both of them at least once, in major ways. he swore on his head that he could keep the two of them safe and he let them down. he's walking around and living and, behind the ease and the arrogance and the smile, he is carrying around so much guilt and so much fear. fear that he'll keep failing, and next time inessa or rowan won't survive it.
