ok- so i see so much ronance angst and it makes sense for their characters, the shows and all yalls broken hearts

like i cant not imagine a pool party at steve’s with all the kids and nancy’s the only one who refuses to go in the water

steve(if he notices) doesn’t really feel worthy to help, so here comes robin

robin is immediately up next to nancy, chattin away like its another day

nancy knows robin can tell, which is why she appreciates it even more, even if she’s a little confused

when the kids all rush out of the pool to eat and cause a mess inside, followed by an exasperated Steve, Robin gently tugs on Nancy’s arm urging her to stay

They talk for awhile, about what happened, and why Nancy feels the way she does. Robin never pushes any of it, she simply offers her genius little ears to listen

When she’s finished, tears streaming down her face as she leans into Robin, the lanky girl just smiles down at her and pulls her up

Robin brings Nancy to the edge of the pool, stepping in herself and just.. standing. Nancy’s cnfused

“What are you doing?”

“Standing in the pool silly :)”

Robin holds out her hand patiently, smiling all the while Nancy has no idea what she’s doing

However, her curiosity gets the best of her, and delicately places her hand into robin’s

step by step, robin get’s nancy up to her knees in the water before she freezes, gripping onto Robin painfully

robin stops instantly, soothing her with gentle strokes on her arms

she’s gently praising her, but not coddling her. nancy hates being coddled

nancy gets the water to her upper thighs before she’s shaking her head, backing out of the water

robin lets her, following slowly

she’s surprised when nancy pulls her into a bear hug, mumbling a thank you into her chest

robin’s immediately stuttering out a “welcome”, patting the girl on the back

from then on, every time theyre at the pool, robin helps nancy get deeper and deeper unti she can float gently with a hand on Robin’s arm

the first time nancy dunks her head under, she panics. she shoots out of the water, immediately wrapping herself onto robin, who holds her tightly, soothing her with praise and soft touches

nancy feels like she might cry. she never thought she’d be able to step foot in any pool again, she never thought robin of all people would be so very patient and gentle with her

without much thought about it, she grabs onto robins face, shoving their lips together

robin squawks and freezes, but eventually relax

they spend the next few minutes just.. kissing. pouring all their love onto one another

when they finally walk into the house, giggling and smiling to themselves, steve is none the wiser, chalking it up to “girl things” as they called it

Ronance headcanons?

oh my goodness of course i do hehehehe (if you cant tell I love them)

i am ignoring the canon plot and using the bits that are convenient to me because I do what I want

Before Robin realized she liked Nancy, she truly didn't understand the deep level of fury she felt against Jonathan. It made no sense because they were friends and she had so much fun with him! Except whenever him and Nancy were together suddenly she had the urge to rip her hair out

Nancy figured her feelings out before Robin did. I know this is controversial and I do agree Robin fell first Nancy fell harder. However, I think the fear of falling for someone who she loves and cares for very much who if Nancy finds out Robin could lose her both from being a lesbian and for being in love with her, just manifests in denial. This is also compounded by the fact that she's convinced she likes Vickie who conveniently is out of reach and (presumed) straight, so if Vickie wasn't into her she wouldn't be risking as much since she's not planning to confess in the first place

Nancy on the other hand very quickly figured it out. After losing Barb, her fear manifested less in denial and more as an overdrive of all her emotions because if she doesn't figure it out quickly she might lose Robin before she could even say a word, so the moment she falls she figured it out then and there. She doesn't want another situation where she didn't tell a person she loves how much they mean to her

that night she had a panic attack that was BRUTAL like she sobbed for hours realizing she's probably going to have to choose between being true to herself and a relationship with her parents. she already knew she liked girls, she figured it out after barb's death, but liking someone new felt so tangible. robin heard her crying and didn't ask, just sat with her for the rest of the night tracing her thumb in circles on her palm

A fluffier one: Nancy plans to confess but Robin does it before she does on accident. Like she's just talking about journalism and how much she enjoys investigative journalism and Robin is just like "I'm in love with you." My assumption is that Robin had already come out to her beforehand but she was just horrified. Nancy was shocked but then was like "you beat me to it <3"

Nancy had not come out to Robin yet, she was planning to do it with her confession, and she had already talked to Eddie (platonic soulmates edancy lover till I die) and talked to Steve so she was prepared but Robin was just FLABBERGASTED

How are the actors reacting to Ronance and Steddie? 😳 compared to Byler?

they just talk about those ships with way more humor and comfortableness and they never attempt to veer the conversation away from the question. actually they often bring it up on their own. for ronance especially, maya and natalia have both made comments about their characters being lovers and dying in each others arms and how they both ship it. we would never see comments like this about any other potential future couple, it would be a spoiler. it’d be as if in season one they talked about jancy this way, or in season two they talked about jopper this way. if they talked about byler like this i genuinely wouldnt believe it would be happening. as for steddie, joseph has said he ships it and when gaten was asked what the next st couple will be he said steddie. again, we’d never see this for real future couples.

the thing is that finn isnt talking about byler like noah at all but that cant just be because he’s not as into it as him because he treats questions about mlvn the same way. noah answers what he can but finn tries to completely steer the conversation which makes sense because his character is in the middle of the love triangle. noah can talk because we all know his characters feelings but if finn talked about byler the way noah does it would be suspicious because right now the audience isnt supposed to know how he feels or at the very least, be questioning his true feelings for el.

i think the way he answers mlvn questions is actually more telling than the byler questions because mlvn in the show has had their big i love you moment but THEYRE STILL NOT TAKING ABOUT IT. now look at that in comparison to winona and david for jopper. jopper finally got together and in interviews we’ve seen them happily talking about it. imagine if we got those happy first kisses and then they were asked whats in store for jopper next season and they were just like “ohh im not sure umm yeah well heres an answer to a completely different question”. thats whats happening to mlvn right now. they had their “big moment” and theyre still not being talked about or celebrated. finn was asked whats next for mlvn and he started talking about who will stay in hawkins and he just wants everyone to be happy when he couldve easily said some mushy thing about mlvn.

robin as sophie, she starts off kind of hostile towards nancy but slowly warms up to the wizard. she loves annoying nancy while she's poring over spells and incantations. robin 'cleans' nancy's bathroom and nancy runs out in nothing but a towel shrieking that her hair is now straight.

As much as I like the concept of ronance, I honestly couldnt see robin being comfortable it happening. Robin knows shes crushing on Nancy, she knew the moment she realised that nancy is different than priss she thought she was. But robin also knows what happened between Nancy and Steve.

You cannot tell me that after the bathroom scene in s2, steve doesnt get uncomfortable with the word bullshit. Whenever he hears it, it reminds him of when someone he loved called him and everything he was trying to do for her, bullshit. Then blamed him when she was sober saying all she remembered was Steve getting mad at her because she kept drinking which didnt happen, he didnt even get mad until he left the bathroom. And Nancy never apologized for this, not once. Not for calling him bullshit, not for emotionally cheating, not for blaming him when he was just trying to help.

Even if both steve and nancy have moved past their relationship and become freinds, you cant tell me that he is still a bit fucked up from that night. That he cant hear bullshit the same again because everything he does, apparently to nancy, is bullshit. And if the roles were reversed and nancy was a man saying what she did to a woman, it would get people pissed!! But since Steve's a man and Nancy's a woman I think it's way to overlooked when it comes to their relationship.

Then when Steve meets Robin, they become best friends, platonic soulmates even. So there is no way, Robin hasn't listened through steve telling her about his relationship with nancy and what happened because of the upside down. Hasnt accidentally, called him bullshit and watch him wince, the same way he gets when someone asked who do you work for, and notice how hes actually pretty fucked up he is from that. Having to be the one to try and convince Steve to address his trauma, because she can see how badly hes affected even if he denies it's there!!

So the moment, Robin realises, she is falling for Nancy. You cannot tell me, that she doesnt hate it. You cant tell me that she hates the fact shes falling for the girl who fucked up her best friend. She may be cool, and an amazing monster fighting, smartass. But she also hurt steve, and steve is Robin's person. So even if Nancy reciprocated her feeling, I dont feel Robin would want to go forward with the he best freinds ex. (Vickie definitely likes her back anyway so let's have them please they are so cute)

Now dont get me wrong, I love nancy as a character, and her inability to admit shes wrong is an interesting character trait that I think adds to her character well. But I just dont think she should stay in a relationship, or move to robin because shes been in a relationship constantly from the beginning of the show, and I believe she should take a break and work on herself, like steve has done.

HER LOVE LANGUAGE IS DEFINITELY BEING MEAN LMAO honestly i interpreted so many of her interactions with robin NOT being like. jealous of robin's relationship with steve i always thought it stemmed from nancy being incredibly guarded about getting close to robin bc of what happened to barb as it’s shown that nancy hasn’t fully gotten over that and it’s still something that she feels guilty/responsible for. so i really think that’s why she was so standoffish with robin from the start like her last real friend got eaten by a monster and after that nancy has had a lot of trouble connecting with people her age that arent love interests (And well. she doesnt exactly connect with them either LOL). also nancy is just Like That which is so funny and i love her

I know post s3 there were a lot of jokes about republican/homophobic nancy which were very funny but im soooo inclined to buy more into liberated nancy bc it just makes sense to me idk….i can see like s1 nancy being more repressed and antiquated but i feel like at this point nancy more than any of the other characters has become SO sure of herself and her understanding of the world and she has such a hatred of small-minded ideologies she’s the one who shot reagan to me not that other guy. she's the kind of person to me that is so clinical about her feelings like she realizes she likes girls and goes on a researching deep dive where she doesn’t sleep or talk to anyone until she can understand her feelings and the right words for them and their history like she just definitely would intellectualize her feelings but she is still much more understanding of them if that makes sense. this is why i fully buy into nancy having to be the one to take the first initiative in ronance like robin is definitely sure of her sexuality but she’s too hesitant and afraid and cant imagine that nancy would actually like her back and i definitely feel like she might have more internalized homophobia in the sense that she’s terrified of coming off predatory/making nancy feel uncomfortable (this is me projecting) so it would have to be nancy taking the leap and making the first move imo and she can do that bc she is so comfortable with herself. also robin likes it when nancy is a little mean this is why they’re meant to be

The Banished and The Broken

Summary:

As someone who was born as an only child into a rich family, Steve could've had everything he wanted.

Yet ever since the first time fought a monster from another world and lived to tell in 1983, Steve has never been sure of what he wants out of life, if there is even a world that still has a place in it for a man as lost as he is. Three years later as he stares down the Devil who wants to break that world apart, he no longer cares about the stakes of his future but for the lives of those who changed him. He only has one priority left to fulfill as their protector: outnumbered or not he won't let them hurt his family.

Not gonna lie to ya! Never thought I'd be here writing a Stranger Things fic. Then again I also said that about every other fandom I've written for on here so my word means nothing XD

Stranger things 4 was.....an experience. Did I love it? Volume 1 absolutely. Then volume 2 came upon us and.....what the hell was that?! Dont get me wrong, I love the way it ended with the upside down breaking into Hawkins. I loved Elevens arc in season 4 as a whole, I loved the Russian rescue mission and escape storyline which led to two of the most emotional reunion scenes I've ever seen. I loved that my favourite three characters (sans Eddie since hes only had one season hence he doesnt apply to this argument) had more screen time than they've ever had in the show. And by that I'm talking about Steve, Max and Dustin. I loved that Jonathan finally had a friend that wasn't Will or Nancy the same way I loved when Steve found a friend in Robin in season 3.

However....why were so many parts of volume 1 just completely forgotten about or rushed in volume 2? Mike telling eleven he loves her? Why was that a plot point? Why did he only say it when he was forced to say it? Why did Eddie have to die in order for the group to defeat Vecna? It would've take the bats just as much time getting back to the house as it did the trailer so they would've got him in time either way. Why did the Duffers pull a Two Days Later on us?!?!?

Another point I was confused about is why they conveniently forgot that Steve was literally mauled by bats....the scene where Eddie is explaining the warzone and Steve's just standing there bleeding through his bandages just like 'eh, just another Tuesday' made me laugh so much and then it's just never brought up again because apparently it was a way to introduce these bat things so that wed have insight into how one of the most popular characters would die....nah fuck that, imma change it.

Goes without saying Steve is absolutely my favourite character in the show. His character has by far had the greatest evolution and I cant wait to see how hes handling the aftermath in season 5. But I feel like they really missed some opportunities with him in season 4 and I'm just kind of projecting that onto this story because I like the character so much and hope you all like this story too :)

(Also side note but I'm honestly living for how the Duffers set up two potential LGBT couples with Rickie and Byler and then just threw the fruity fours great upside down adventures at us like XD I love the ship of Steve/Eddie, not sure I feel as into Ronance as alot of you but I think it's just because I like Robin way more as a character than I do Nancy, who honestly I have mixed feelings about her character.)

Also also, while this is a Steve/Eddie fic, that is not the sole or even the main focus of the story, its mainly about Steve's relationship with everyone, as well as some of the other characters with eachother, with a big ol dose of fluff on the side to cover up all the hurt in these poor kids.

i know max is supposed to be ronance's child but i cant help but see her as steddie's kid. like steve is the babysitter, he's always with the kids and he was there the first time vecna got max, and he knows about her relationship with billy and how complicated it is. he's protected her from him and took her to visit his grave. he's also the only big kid who got a letter. so i imagine he became like a brotherly figure in her life, being who billy should have been.

eddie and max both live in the trailer park, so i'd imagine sometimes she'd go over to his trailer, or eddie would come to hers to check on her. he'd teach her how to play guitar and she'd show him how to skateboard. i can imagine them working on cars together (bc i am a mechanic!eddie truther), and eating dinner together & getting to have the siblings they always wanted.

and bc it's me, every single one of my hc's include steddie, once steve and eddie start dating, everything kinda combines and they are protective & close with max in a different way than dustin and a different way than the other kids.

anyways!!!! my point being, max deserves brothers who love her & protect her.

steve telling his students (teacher!steve, so true) about his super sweet and caring husband and they all think it's just some average, boring dude. and they find out that the guy who irons mr. harrington's clothes every morning and adopted 3 kittens so the siblings wouldn't be separated, is a rock musician, with tattoos all over his arms and is wearing a shirt that says sum shit like "the devil was an angel too" when he comes in for career day.

alternatively, eddie telling his bandmates about how super cool and tough his husband is & then one day some guy in a baby blue polo and pressed slacks shows up before their show to give eddie a specific pick and a kiss on the cheek and eddies band mates are like..........that's him? that's the guy who bit the head off a bat and hit billy hargrove with his car?
