okay i did a little searching, since i often don't understand such ship names. if google doesn't lie to me, then the first one is Pomni/Jax, and the second is Pomni/Caine.

damn, I thought funnybunny was the name for Ragatha/Jax 💔💔

i don't ship Pomni/Jax but i find the pairing cute. i don't sense any special dynamic between them, Jax just makes fun of her the same way he makes fun of everyone else because he's a jerk (i say this lovingly). when i discovered that this pairing was the most popular in the fandom, i didn’t really understand why, since i wouldn’t say that there was anything particularly interesting going on between these two. I think the dynamics between Jax and Ragatha were more distinct, which I immediately noticed, they had tension and i really liked it x) but then, after thinking about it a little, i realized why Pomni/Jax is the most popular ship (I guess?? it's just my supposition) — people combined two of the most main characters, one of whom is a badass-tumblr-sexyman, and the second is an angsty ordinary person with whom people could identify themselves. anyway i just find it funny that so many people like this ship. i saved fanarts of these two a couple of times because i thought they were cute. to be honest, kitsch's (@ bunnyjesters/ nuzipilled) works probably influenced my opinion about this ship the most. arts with Pomni and Jax from kitsch is probably my favorite among all the other fanarts for this couple, i think that he well preserves their canon behavior and characters despite the fact that the pairing itself in the cartoon is non-canon, and their interactions in his art feel quite realistic for me! i love how kitsch draws them and how he uses gestures and body language to show their emotions, it's very, very cute. so yeah, i don't ship them, but i do find some of the fanart of them cute. i drew this a while ago, so have this if it will make you happy 🌸

now Kaine/Pomni...ahmmm, to be honest, i was even more surprised that this is probably the second most popular pairing in the fandom? :D apparently it really comes across often and haha, i don’t understand it... i’ve never been interested in the dynamics of student/teacher or employee/boss, in my understanding there can be no romance in their relationship, maximum platonic, family relationships, understanding each other. Kaine is very quirky and doesn't seem like he's interested in romance (i generally like Kaine/Moon, but i really think Kaine is just confused by Moon's behavior since he's not interested in her romantically x)). it's more like he treats all the guys in circus like friends, colleagues or something like that. so yeah, it's weird for me to see romantic stuff with Pomni/Caine, but like the first one, occasionally i might come across fanart with them that i think is cute. once I saw a mini-comic (don't remember the author) dedicated to that circus teaser, in the comic Caine suddenly appeared in Pomni's room. Pomni, out of fear, hits him sharply, after which he got upset and she began to apologize <з

if we talk about my fav ship, i love Ragatha/Jax! i don't remember this "name" for the pairing, but yes, that's them. dynamics like theirs are my favorite dynamic in couples, i just love it when characters can't stand each other lol. i love the tension between them and i'm afraid i paid too much attention to it while watching the pilot... oh my god, a moron, who pisses everyone off, with a good-natured girl, who wants to help everyone, but she has to deal with this asshole. i guess it's the "from hate to love" trope, right? i like that the first thing that manifests itself in such couples is negativity, they just piss each other off and cannot calm down. but after a while the annoying cools down and they begin to open up to each other. ofc i don't know Gooseworks’ plans, but you guys probably thought that Jax is actually not such a jerk as he shows himself to be, and in fact he is a deeper character, with his own traumas and trials? let's not turn this into a tragic sob story, but nevertheless, Gooseworks said "every tadc character has a reason why they behave the way they do" and i believe that we will be revealed that. it seems to me that to some extent Jax and Ragatha can complement each other. Like, you know, it’s like N helps Uzi cool down and be calm, and Uzi helps N to be confident and defend his positions. maybe Jax can show Ragata that her toxic positivity is not the best option and sometimes you need to be tough, and Ragatha can help him open up, share his problems and well...to be less jerk-like. and yes, of course i can't get it out of my head that Jax called her "dollface" while he gave the others rude nicknames haha

also i like Ragatha/Pomni, i probably don’t pay much attention to them, but they're good. there are cute interactions between them and it seems that Ragatha was better than the others in being able to approach her and become somewhat of a friend. Ragatha has this energy of a caring mother or something, so her desire to help Pomni get comfortable in the circus and direct her to positive thoughts is cute. at the same time, Pomni looks extremely confused, but Ragatha is the one she turns to because she seems the most adequate and friendly of the others. i liked to draw how they hug, but in i think that most likely Ragatha would not have allowed herself to hug someone without asking, at least she would have asked permission x) however, it seems to me that physical contact and kind words are Ragatha's way of support, so simply holding hands with her would calm Pomni down

also i like Pomni/Gangle and Gangle/Kinger and i don'tind other ships as well !!

personally i love how flirtatious nana is with jack (and only jack!), it’s a complete subversion of what you’d expect from her personality

Oh there are SO many aspects.

I love that Jack is a clumsy goofball who is willing to do anything for Nana and wouldn't hesitate getting into a fight for her because no one is talking bad about Nana in his presence.

Nana learning to come out of her shell a bit more due to her friendship with Jack but not because he's telling her she has to. Jack actually works with her antisocialness and learns about her boundaries and limits. Nana just likes being around him and would like to be around him more. But in order to do that, she knows she has to stop holding herself back from interacting with everyone by staying in her room or the Lupine forest.

There's the fact Nana is the one who teaches Jack how to fight in hand-to-hand combat. Xia def has their hand in teaching him but Nana is what makes the lessons stick (she also is the one who teaches him how to use his elongated canines). That lad learned how to bite and make it count from his girlfriend.

The fact they both have their own "dark" sides that they are a bit self conscious about while ironically loving the other's alternate side and wishing they'd be more comfortable about it.

Nana is very aware of the fact Jack likes sweets and always makes some for him when she gets the chance, but she also knows he needs to eat healthy foods too. And sometimes, getting Jack to eat that good stuff is like pulling teeth. So, in the early days before she fully moved into Briar Patch, she'd bring homecooked food with her for Jack to make sure he's eating SOMETHING that ain't jam packed with sugar. And she knows because she made it, he'll eat it.

I also very much love that Nana is so flirtatious with Jack even though she's so reclusive around people she doesn't know and can be super pokerfaced around her own friends. She does express herself around Pin, Ashe, and Kai, but Jack is the one who fully sees her other sides. She wasn't planning on having him be the only one either, but he makes her feel so comfortable she tends to drop that limit she has on her emotions.

What's funny too is that she wasn't planning on being the flirty type, nor did she intend to be, but one day she did something and Jack responded a certain way and something inside her woke up. She learned she really liked how Jack gets when she flusters him.

I think what my absolute favorite part of their dynamic is the fact that Nana never intended to fall in love with Jack. She was fully planning on just never falling in love...ever. She was fully avoidant of such a thing and never thought it would happen to her. And then Jack came stumbling into her life and accidentally breaking down the walls she built around herself by just being a genuinely nice guy and good friend and she realized "Shit I got it bad for the farm boy."

There's something about a character trying to suppress their feelings for someone because they are scared of getting hurt and/or just have low hopes for life, only for the ball of sunshine to be head-over-heels for them leading to them spending more time around the latter and having them grow fonder and fonder. And then one day they snap and just have that realization when they are by themselves one day "SHIT I'M IN LOVE"

The list of the things I love about Jack and Nana and their interactions together would literally be endless but they are just super fun and comfy for me to write and draw together.

I'm just going to write how I know people describe me for personality and how I'm like. And no first years pls

My personality most people describe as hot and cold in a way while also being very loving and supportive, as in I'm very quick at changing moods like a filp of a switch. I care far too much and try to help others (be it family or strangers) and was called very soft for it if not for my alter ego, a split personality of mine that is fairly aggressive to others and is very protective of me. (something, something because of ptsd, autism and a complete mindbreak in the words of my doctor)

Considered a bit obsessive and protective of people I really care for/love like my siblings for example as I'm very willing to throw hands whenever harm comes to them

Eldest of 7 siblings and is like lilia specialising in babysitting, would occasionally go full mother hen Mode and fuss on people. Was raised as a guy for the first 7 years of life.. So considers myself gender fluid leaning feminine (afab)

I'm fairly tall at 5'8 and slender, long knee length black hair that is straighter than my sexuality and gender. not really beautiful even though even though my true name translates to lady brilliant beauty (more of a title than a name lol)

My interest is in the arts and history (mainly in fashion and architecture, don't ever ask me about war cus idk), I've picked up pretty much every single art skill like pokemon cards like for example : embroidery, sewing, painting, sculpting, cetak fabric and dyeing it(draw designs on fabric with hot wax, and proceed to dye it with a paintbrush, a really old traditional art) , drawing, singing, dancing, lace making, soap making, and other DIY stuff

My hobbies are reading, sewing, embroidery, bird watching, dancing, cooking, gardening, and baking. I work mainly as a tailor and sew custom clothes for daily wear and special occasions.

My lifestyle is pretty simple as I don't go out a lot and barely interact with people other than family and clients, tho I mainly stay home as my studio is just at home so I don't go outside much but I still do found fun going out once a week and doing various of activities. I'm still completing my training to be a full flege tailor at a local trade college.

I'm very lazy and gets tired easily, so you can found me falling asleep any time anywhere like silver. Tho social interactions and anxiety drains me the most and is the main culprit on making me fell asleep randomly. I don't really indulge myself other than DIY projects, stuff like games and makeup somewhat bores me and food doesn't really have my interest even though I found so much fun baking and cooking. but I still do it on occasion and do enjoy trying out new games, makeup techniques and recipes. I'm more disciplined on my time and follow my personal rules and laws to a t. tho my schedule is still sporadic, I timed everything I do daily and at most would spend 2 hours a day on gaming and movie watching..

The First Impression:

...Admittedly, I am very drawn by the tailor thing. We've heard a million renditions of Vil and the manager, the co-star, the makeup artist, etc, but tailor is new and adds a whole different dynamic, IMO.

You exist completely outside of Vil's high-stress world, and he finds that quite charming. You're not a model, not an actor, not even a petty famous designer (who refuses to take any of his notes, SMH). But Vil cares far more about skill than status, and so, you immediately catch his eye.

Why He Fell:

There are as many differences as there are similarities, those of which Vil learns to adapt to (though, he really wishes you'd stop calling yourself lazy and not beautiful, when that's obviously not true). And despite your tendency to stay in your comfort zone, he comes to understand that you're open to trying new things, which is probably one of his favorite things about a person. (He takes a lot of pride in teaching you new makeup techniques).

You're responsible, you have goals, you focus on refining your skills... he sees a lot of himself in you, in all the best ways, and he's somewhat relieved by how mature and intelligent you are. He's absolutely enamored with your technical skills, as well, especially in sewing- he might even find himself coming to you for advice.

The Relationship:

You and Vil experience love in all its forms in a very similar way. You're passionate, protective of your loved ones, and deeply caring despite everything. Your shared "motherly" traits balance each other perfectly, and makes your relationship very equal in all ways... just as long as you'll let him pamper you every once in a while.

How I feel about this character

Absolutely insane, thank you.

Jokes aside. Damn what a character. I was terrified at his introduction, not because he was scary but more in a "oh this is. Extremely bad for the heroes. This guy is gonna be hard to beat", and then every time he appeared he was a bit more interesting and his actual role started to become clear and it was over for me. So over. Like. Not only does he have one of the coolest character designs I have ever seen, but he is so compelling to me. Double agent that probably at some point in his life genuinely wanted the power his position offers, but that was then hit with the reality of the situation and decided that the most sensible thing to do was stay in his place and wait for the right moment to turn things around. Emotionally closed off, yet impulsive, probably so used to ignoring how he feels that he needs to have his own needs and desires spelled out for him. He values his space and probably routine and yet his inner circle is and always has been the most chaotic people in the Isles.

Obviously the ones I made so many drawings and fics about, aka Icy from winx club (or at least my version of her) and my oc Dave. Then there is obviously dariraine and dariraeda, both as a vee and as a triad, both make sense.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

EBERWOLF EBERWOLF EBERWOLF they are the ultimate duo, I absolutely love their dynamic and yearn for more. Eda too because they are very fun to think about together. We deserved to see them interact when the world wasn’t about to end :(

My unpopular opinion about this character

I don't like timeskip aladarius. The moment was funny and cute but I don’t think they’re right for each other. They are much more fun for me as bitter exes that had the messiest breakup ever.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Just one? Lol. I wish we had seen him and Hunter talk. At any point between asias and the finale. I would've loved to see them cautiously getting to know each other in a different way before Hollow Mind, and I would've loved to see them talk about the whole grimwalker thing, and about do many other things. They deserved more time.

I wish we had seen some banter with Eda, and a little more of him in a Hexside flashback. Even just a spoken line, you know. A flashback like the one Raine had when explaining how Eda inspired them to create the BATTs would've been cool too.

Honestly i have so much sympathy for Ailette and the way she mischaracterises Tesilid.

like i myself also fixate on certain parts of the story and extrapolate maybe a bit too much - although in my defence i've only read like half the story.

-but the same can kind of be said of Ailette? This Tesilid is having a new, currently-being-written chapter of his life. In fact she kind of has things even worse, because her characterisation of Tesilid is based off OG!Tesilid, but current Tesilid had his life and outlook irreversibly changed when they met aged 10. But they never really interacted enough afterwards for Ailette to realise just how much of an impact she made on him. She hasn't really had a strong reason to rethink her characterisation of him. Not to mention that she first read the book with her middle school reading comprehension, which. Probably coloured her interpretation for the worse, at least a little.

I really wish Ailette would go into more detail about her own experience as a reader, to really see better how she's viewing this world and its people.

Which paragraphs are the ones that she thinks defines Tesilid's character? (Mine is "I'm praying that they'll all fail the test and go home".)

I feel like the fun part of these kinds of isekai story is that. Whatever reaction you had towards Tesilid, be it "wow what a cute kid" or "i'm going to cry, i need to wrap him in a blanket where the world can't hurt him anymore" or "actually he should just destroy the world tbh i would support him", she's been there first and has been doing for at least 10 years, she's the OG. And she's super intense about it too. Like she can say "I need to save him because the story dictates it" all she wants, but the way she reacts so intensely and immediately to Tesilid in danger really speaks volumes of how much emotional investment she has in this guy. Like idk if she really rotates him in her head as much as I do - that might be a me problem - but if you rotate a character in your head enough times while fixating on certain moments and not others, you probably would end up with a biased interpretation of the character. Especially if you don't have someone else to bounce ideas off. And this gets worse if you're actually living in the character's world, because characters in stories serve certain narrative functions, so all their actions which get included in the narration are inherently biased towards portraying them in a certain way that serves said narrative function. But humans are a lot messier and more dynamic.

i just. shakes her up and down. love the concept of an isekai protagonist and the OG protagonist that they love so much.

anyway this whole post is a testament to how much Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint changed the way I interpret fiction and especially isekai stories. Not me anthromorphozing Ailette as if she's really a person and fellow fan who exists and isn't a character lmaoo, i'm definitely not having a "we're all fragments of kim dokja" moment, no sir. i definitely didn't subconsciously draw connections between ORV's isekai'd MC and myself and S-Class Heroine's isekai'd MC and our commonalities as readers who rotate the same story in their heads very many times, and suddenly make a realisation that's actually more relevant to ORV than the actual story that prompted all this. one whole year after i last read ORV, because ORV's story is So Much and so monumental that i'm still haunted by it and figuring it out and it lowkey never left my mind, even after a whole year. (please read orv.) like there are a lot of otome isekai stories about isekai'd MCs realising that the people in their lives don't line up with the OG characters, but none of these stories ever made me viscerally realise what it was probably like for kim dokja, because none of them had isekai'd MCs be that unironically obsessed with their OG protags, and more importantly none of them made me constantly rotate the OG protagonist in my head the way S-Class Heroine does. Han Sooyoung was right, you get as much out of a story as you put in to reading it and re-reading it and re-interpreting it. By putting so much time into S-Class Heroine I accidentally made some relevations about the other story that I was always trying to figure out at the back of my mind. Holy shit.

🍁 Tropes I like: Basically all the ones that are in InuKou! I'm a big fan of ships with a Red/Blue theme, height differences, and more casual pairings! Add in intense devotion, open communication (This one ALWAYS gets me), and a subversion of the soulmates trope and it's golden in my book- LMAO Things like being deeply hurt and learning to heal together, and calm x argumentative also have me hooked-

🪻Perfume/Favorite smell headcanon: I fully believe that in a modern AU, Kouko would wear a mix of some mild floral perfume, and a nice woody cologne! She'd be very particular about which type and how many sprays of each she uses just so it smells the same everytime she wears it. ( ᵔ ⩊ ᵔ ) I imagine Inuyasha would be able to pick out the smell from anywhere- LMAO

Outside of a modern AU, though, I don't imagine Kouko would use too much perfume at all, really. Maybe on rare occasions?

🐍 Ship symbolism: I always mention the color green being used whenever I draw these two as a way to represent their relationship being built on mutual growth, because that's the one I use all the time, but I also love using the moon and night sky symbols for them! Inuyasha's obviously the moon, and she's the night sky! Way later down the line their daughter actually fits into that theme with clouds being a big part of her design!

🐙Other Kouko ships??: InuKou's my undeniable #1 and my favorite, though that's fairly obvious, let's look at the other possibilities for her! My biggest thoughts for other possible Kouko ships are with Sango and Jinenji! I always imagined that Kouko found Sango really pretty, and in some alternate universe they probably hit it off, they have a lot in common, and it's really a strong girl x strong girl ship, which we love LOL And her and Jinenji would just be really sweet with their interactions! It's a much fluffier alternative to InuKou with how starkly different Jinenji is from Inuyasha in... Basically all ways.

I also think her and Miroku would be really funny? They aren't a pairing I'd genuinely consider too much, but I think they'd be super goofy, and could maybe have some super sweet sincere moments once Kouko knocks some sense into him LMAO Who knows. Plus, a magic-heavy guy with a tanky girl is always fun!

I also had a friend of mine suggest Kouko and Kagome? Which, in all honesty I think would be really cute and supportive for the both of them! Plus, the ranger/tank dynamic would be fun in battle. Kouko already picks her up all the time already as friends, I just imagine that'd happen twice as much if they were a couple- Whoops, I think I like the idea of KagKou more than InuKag LMAO

You could also pop any of the characters into a poly ship with her, and I imagine you'd also get some fun combinations! I don't think into those too often, but they're there to explore! If anyone has any ideas for hypothetical ones I'd love to hear, it'd be fun to see what people come up with. ( = ⩊ = )

Kari's Black Box fell through a Rift (rip in the fabric of reality that bleed into other universes) and she ended ip in the Kagerou Project universe. MANY THINGS HAPPEN that lead to Kari and Kaori in their "human" bodies dying together. until they perform a Re_birthday spell that takes their souls and turns them into Komi . who is then told by a higher being to act as her pawn, which Komi does, cause she can't remember her past lives.

Komi meets Scaramouche a while after she's recovered her past memories. she, like him, has been "betrayed" three times (Behemo had to cast her aside, Saeru lied to her, and the VOID is just using her in Scara's words) , she doesnt see it that way (except for Saeru) .

Komi and Scaramouche bond over the things that happened to them and what they plan to do next . Komi loves humanity and cherishes humanity memories, and Scaramouche (Fatui arc) couldnt care less really . THEY ARE OPPOSITES ATTRACT ARGHH

third image is the Poly Ship between Scaramouche/Pinokio (thats the name we gave our Wanderer), Komi, and Albedo . i don't remember their ship name . rhis polyship exists bc Albedo is ALSO an artificial living being with an interesting view on humanity who would have an interesting dynamic with Hat Guy . komi was in two previous relationships by the time she meets scara/pinokio . her first was robin fire emblem that lasted like 3-ish years before he died and her second was Really Bad . meaning that Komi is in her hopeless romantic era during the Genshin Period of her life (which, for context, is like . 10,000+ years (of her life, not time as we understand it) before she dates the Puppeteer , where she isnt really excited ar the idea of going on a date anymore .

But seriously, he was one of my favourite gravity falls characters, i feel like he's very much misunderstood by the fandom, either deeply villanized or has his reletable flaws whittled down to be more palatable. there is so much wrong with him to explore. alas, i am not smart enough to dig as deep

I think he was actually quite reletable and not to have a kin moment or anything, but I saw a lot of myself in his flaws, so I can't really imagine why someone wouldn't sympathize with him.

stinky rude little guy. i enjoy it very much. as i said, i'm not up to date on the lore, but i know he's kind of having a fucked up time and i love me a man in peril.

And I've been a fan of prowlop lately, I think he an Optimus could have a really fucked up dynamic together. Constructiprowl is a favourite of mine. And I have a little guilty pleasure spot here just for Prowl/Fort Max

Not quite sure, I think he would be extremely fun to pair with anyone just because he's such a dick and no one likes him. I honestly think that a chapter dedicated to him and Rodimus getting into shenanigans would be hilarious

My unpopular opinion about this character

Not sure if this is necessarily me going against the popular opinions, perhaps just me against the expectations i had when i heard everyone else talk about him, but... I don't think he's actually as evil and twisted as people make him out to be? he's an asshole, yes, but I don't think he's actually a heartless bastard incapable of not feeling guilty for his actions, as i've seen him portrayed sometimes. if anything, guilt eats away at him so much that he's doing everything he can to stay in control of it. if he keeps stubbornly assuring himself that he did what had to be done, he'll manage to stay sane. i don't know. re-reading that, it sounds stupid as hell but i don't have anything else to say so i can't delete that....

Tell us something non-whump related about yourself!

Hi I'm Kira! I'm just a guy on the internet who has something wrong with him (affectionate). Outside of whump I do a lot of regular OC stuff! Though, it always ends up angsty. I draw a shit ton, I watch video essays, and I pet my cat. He's adorable and amazing, by the way!

What does whump mean to you?

God, I don’t know man. It's when the character gets hurt and it makes me smile, I guess. For me it usually ends up being brutal torture of the physical or mental kind!

How did you discover the whump community? 

So I found the whump-culture-is blog, and I kinda skirted around the whole idea cuz I wasn't super comfortable with it yet. And then I stumbled upon Hazeshift by @whumpwillow!!! That was the story that got me into whump, it clicked a switch somewhere in my brain. And from there I started following more whump blogs, creating some OCs to whump, and eventually made a blog! Now I’m here.

It seems to be a common thread that everyone has a specific whump story that just clicked! Have you found that your whump tastes have changed over time?

I think my favorite tropes have largely stayed the same, same as my hard preference for OC over fandom. But I've gotten way more into making whumpy art lately! It's mostly on my art blog @kira-does-art-sometimes So, I haven't exactly been writing. I am still doing some though,  I'm just really bad at finishing it.

And your favourite whump tropes?

May the devil bless my soul, I am not mentally normal about any of this. 

First of all I am an avid whumper-turned-whumpee and villain whump fan. This is the Main Trope I enjoy because it is just so good. Look man, I just need to see the somewhat sympathetic (or not) bad guys get whumped and then maybe get a hug afterwards because even if they did bad shit before, they still don't exactly deserve bad things to happen to them? I dunno know, it's a bit soothing. Also god, there are so many good dynamics you would have. Reluctant caretakers, righteous whumpers, whumpees-turned-whumpers,,,, god, I am insane for this. Also the angst potential is ridiculous and I love it. 

I am also a fan of sicko shit like cannibalism and gore and vivisection. Like yes, cut that guy open and eat his organs. I will never not be normal about cannibalism and also I believe it is completely ethical if it's fully consensual. Anyways, fucked-up cannibalism is very good too. I need the people to eat each other. I need blood dripping from mouths and staining smiles. I need the faux-intimacy of feasting on another. Vivisection is also great for similar reasons. It is very Intense and Torture and I think it's fun!! You can also eat the whumpee's organs. Food for thought, pun intended! 

Glasgow smiles!I love those. I need to give more of my whumpees those. I just think it's neat and it's an alternative gag. You can't exactly talk without pain when your face has been slit open.

Immortal whump is the best. Because you can just do anything, really stretch a guy past their limits and then do it again!!! The fun never ends because they can't die, at least not permanently. Killing an immortal is underrated. And I don't mean permanently. I mean like bringing them back, again and again, and continuing the murder! Is that not fun?! 

Isolation in whump is very underrated. Solitary confinement is a form of torture after all. I think there's something very resonant for me about the simple. Lack of anything to the point that it drives you insane. The only thing making you like this are the walls cutting you off from the world. How do you explain that to people? I also like other fucked up forms of isolation like when the whumpee pretty much only interacts with the whumper or people on their side. The way that it can fuck them up is very intriguing to explore in writing I think. 

I realize this is somewhat sicko behavior. I have decided to not apologize for this. Also if the FBI is reading this, I um. I have little to no desire to do this in real life okay don't arrest me.

I think we’re all screwed if the FBI ever decides to look our way…I look forward to sharing a cell with you all! Do  you have a favourite piece you've written? 

I guess I'd definitely have to say Spirals and Solitaire is one of my better pieces!! Look. I just needed to write about a woman with depression. That's my favorite type of character. It combines a lot of my favorite tropes. A villain with angst for days being trapped in a room and slowly, slowly, going fucking insane. Getting way too attached to the only person that talks to them. And a bystander who doesn't help until it's too late. But better late than never hey? 

Also I am still a fan of Midnight Meal which is really surprising since it's like almost a year old I think? I think it holds up! I just like the cannibalism. And the gore. And I have gotten the best comments on it. Thank you to the nice people who left comments on it! Definitely my most sicko piece out of all my writing. Isaac's my favorite whumpee and this is not even the worst thing that happens to him, by the way. 

I also have this single series, Diamonds to Dust that I have definitely updated recently. I may or may not actually start writing the seventh chapter. I apologize for the radio silence on this lol. Storm and Zuri and Xavier are my beloveds. Also Lusik and Octavia are fucked up lesbians but I haven't gotten into that yet. My favourite toxic ship!

What's your writing routine like? Is there a must have drink or snack? 

My writing schedule fucking insane to be honest. Kinda goes like: 

- At a random point in time I get an idea. 

- I ruminate on the idea for an extended period of time. From like a week to a year. Average is prolly a couple months. 

- After the rumination I finally get some words on the goddamn paper! I write in fucking simplenote cuz I can access it on all my devices. 

- The words never get finished on the first day. From then it is three days to two months until I continue the goddamn thing. Or I just don't. Sometimes that happens. 

- And then the editing. Oh god. The editing. Suffice to say I hate it, I hate it, I hate it but it's necessary so I do it. Actually this takes like two weeks max cuz again. Hate it to shreds. I send it to my lovely whump friends for beta reading. I love yall!

- And then post. God help me when I do that. 

This is why I never post anything sorry about that. 

Usually I write in my very comfy bed in the evening. I don't really munch on snacks or drinks when I write.

Is there anything specific that you find easy to write?

I find that it's pretty easy for me to write characters with depression. When the character is just angsting and going through the emotional ringer, it's pretty easy for me to write stuff. Honestly that's probably how I got Spirals and Solitude finished so quickly. It's literally just like three thousand words of Wrenna having depression. I really struggle with writing like pure fluff. I dunno know,  I just find it hard to create a good conflict when it's so lighthearted.

And  do you have any current projects?

I have like a couple WIPs who are not finished yet. I may finish and post them one day. I am also always drawing. Probably of my OCs or fan art of my friend's OCs!

You ask me??? For writing advice. Uhhhh I dunno man. Just get a little silly with it. Being Quality is overrated. Someone's probably gonna read it and get something out of it even if it's just like seven words in comic sans or whatever. Or maybe you are the one who reads it and gets something out of it! Self deprecation is overrated too. Your writing is probably fine. It is probably even good. Likely, it is even great and amazing!

Lowkey I think we as a community need more transgender characters. In any role. I just need to see more guys who are transgender. Who get a little funky with their gender. Who maybe even have their transsexuality impact the story in some way. Same for like, characters of color and female characters. I'd love to see whumpees with lots of different backstories and female characters in lots of different roles in the narrative. I personally don't think that the violence that women and minorities face in real life necessarily has to be analogous to the violence faced by a character in a story. I know it can go very badly but it can get a little tiring sometimes to only find stories with cis white male characters. Variety pls.

The Lionheart Brothers Bookcover (part - 2) from Shri - 01/03/24

Hi Archie

That sounds like exciting stuff! Absolutely loved seeing the Riso come together colour by colour!

Also, I'm super happy that you're letting your (comfort?) characters marine in your head for a while! There is nothing more fun and relaxing than just imagining your comfort characters interact/go through their story with no pressure of making it a 'good' story.

I constantly have my comfort characters go through self-indulgent story structures e.g. sickfic vibes or hurt/comfort storylines (have I imagined many of those sorts of scenes before? yes. Will I image it again? yes.

Anyway, getting into part 2 now.

When sketching these first few ideas, I was completely free and open, not limiting myself to any boundaries yet.

The only thing I was roughly keeping in mind was the visual cues and elements of the book. These included elements such as the Dove, Cutler (the bag guy), the brothers and the house. I was also really loosely thinking about composition, and how the dynamics of the story/character will affect the composition.

You can see me thinking about the relationship of the characters further here, playing around with this big dark shadowy figure taking up most of the page, Showing how this ominous creature is in control/power.

Elements I considered 

Brothers' closeness (showing that in their physical closeness to each other on the page and their body language)

peaceful with overshadowing danger (either with a shadow figure or maybe the dove being shot?)

Rusky (younger brother) follows/wants to be more like his older brother Jonathan

This is why in a lot of the images I drew I purposely put Rusky below Jonathan/or following him somewhere, this is to show how Rusky isn't where his brother is but is striving to get there. This was quite difficult to get as making them close yet having this relationship dynamic was had to capture.

This is where I had to now put on my critical hat and really ask what sketch serves the book better. Although I absolutely adore the cover with them on the horses and the one what them climbing the mountain together. They didn't quite convey the message/story the book had, so I went with the last one.

I love this cover but it really doesn't tell us anything about the bother, except that they have a good relationship.

I think the dynamic feel to the cover, again shows the brother's bravery

There are more journey vibes in this sketch (which might be better to fit with the beginning of the book?)

Third Image (facing of the bad guy with a creature in the back)

I think this is the best image in showing the conflict between the brothers and Tengil while also showing their bravery.

To push the brother's notice aspect in the story I'll need to tweak

I'm pushing the sketch further by simplifying it so I can figure out the overall shapes and silhouettes.

This was to show how Rusky is still trying to catch up to his older brother both physically and metaphorically.

Though having them holding hands shows this closeness between them, so shows this dynamic relationship where Rusky (the younger brother) is trying to be as great as his older brother but also having a wholesome relationship.

The image above is just not sitting right. theoretically it makes sense but the whole image just feels weird

so I continued to play around with the existing image (see above), playing around with adding elements and text.

It just continued to not sit right. Although I did consider just colouring it in any way, I went back to the drawing board and relook at this cover.

Really like what the border brings, it brings room/space, something to play with (shapes) and it gives the tone of the book a more fairytale/old feel which was something really lacking before.

Then I had a whole Slide just ranting about this project and why I can't seem to get the image to fit right.

I am very frustrated because the image is just not working. This is because I believe iced over complicated it and it doesn't have enough space to breathe with is something I appreciate in imagery

At this point, I am truly lost. So when you are in any sense lost in a project, you always go back to one point.

What are you trying to say?

I was to show Rusky's bravery and wanting to be like his brother. I want to show his bravery in helping liberate Wild Rose Village (they live in Cherry Village) and liberate Wild Rose Village.

Character at the bottom (to show weakness and powerless) but Vertical lines to show their energetic and rebellious motions. (Molly Bang)

10) Maria She’s Maria. What else can I say? She deserved better-

9) Glen More fun as a character but it’s funny that somehow he managed to corner TB not once but twice? Once by accident. Yeah he’s annoying. But he’s a hot mess and I love him. And also I blame my friend (YOUNKNOWHOYOUARE) for legit making me go totally indifferent to him to becoming my 4th favorite character in general).

8) Chuck Honestly, he goes all over the list depending on my mood but he’s just great. Fred Stoller is amazing and the more I watch his Instagram live streams the more convinced I get that he’s just Chuck’s humansona.

7) Ms Question

She’s just so much fun and I love her question mark hover board. I still can’t draw her to save my life and that makes me sad ;; BUT she’s definitely a top favorite. And the fact she gets Chuck as a brother-in-law is so funny to me.

6)  Nocan Love me a himbo that can sense granola bars from across the entire city. Also my dude is legit the second strongest non-alien villain, give props where its due.

5) Guy Rich Fanon or canon? Yes. Gotta love the gawl this man had for acting so high and mighty, taunting Mr Big like he did when he was just a con man. He’s more fun to play with as a foil to Big rather than an actual villain but I still love him.

4) Dr Two Brains Yeah what a surprise imarite but if its not for the nostalgia, he’s just fun to watch. Tom Kenny was perfect for him. I said all I could on the previous list so we’re moving on.

3) Lady Redundant Woman What can I say but I absolutely love her. Unhinged woman who does not give a flip. She will bite your leg if you talk to her before she gets a cup of coffee. My friend pointed out how Beatrice’s villain self is basically her yassified form and that’s so accurate looking at it. I love that her outfit is the 4 colors of a printer ink cartridge, and I LOVE her style. Yas queen.

2) Mr Big To the surprise of no one- Arrogant, touch-starved manchild himbo. There’s so many layers to this man and I might make a character analysis post on him if I get the chance. Also the fact that he has the most SIMPLE design and yet 80% of the fandom agrees he’s SO HARD TO DRAW is the funniest fucking thing. We love a himbo.

1) Leslie Yeah, there was no doubt, and I will count her as a solo villain because she technically did in that one ep. I absolutely love her and no one will ever change my mind.

It’s not surprising most of the fandom agrees Leslie very well may be one of the smartest characters in the show, and yet she works with someone who, well is the opposite lol. She’s a martial artist, a gymnast, wielder, pilot of just about every vehicle imaginable (golf cart, crane, blimp, a rocket ship), paints, engineering to an extent (that we know), ON TOP of all that being able to manage an entire company and business managing.

ON TOP OF THAT, it’s canon Leslie is immune to mind control. Even Mr Big got himself mind controlled, the dumbas-

Speaking of Big, their dynamic is just so amusing, they play off each other so well and I honestly wish we could of seen Leslie interact with the other villains on her own. If “Leslie Makes It Big” is anything to go off of, they all seem to like her and get along with her.

A BROTP I have with said character: TORN BETWEEN GIRORO & FUYUKI THEYRE BOTH VERY VERY GOOD FRIENDSHIPS. Keroros bestieship w fuyuki is so important, it’s the heart at the core of the whole series, it’s a pure straightforward and deep friendship with the power to save the world and alter history, it’s adorable, their deep care for each other is obvious in everything they do, they’re like brothers, they hang out and have heartwarming fun together. Giroro and Keroro are lifelong best friends who spend 80% of their interactions arguing and beating the shit out of each other and it’s really funny

A NOTP I have with said character: it’s always hard coming up with responses for this that aren’t “The Obvious Bad Ones on account of Bad” because i simply dont form very strong opinions in this department. what little girokero exists surprises me i guess nothing against it at all but im very attached to their hashtag platonic bestieship dynamic

A random headcanon: UHHHHHH. I KNOW i must have them, this little freak has nonnegotiable residence in my brain. It’s like when someone asks you “what’s your favorite book” “what’s your favorite food” “what’s your favorite movie” and suddenly everything you’ve ever done vanishes from your brain in an instant. Temporary headcanon amnesia. Hmmm. All I can manage to think of is serious meta that I’ve like, already said. Serious meta about the silliest of the silly frogs.

This is I think possibly basically canon or drawing from canon but like. Keroro’s favorite types of fictional characters are the Leader-Of-The-Group Protagonists, for … kind of self evident reasons. He likes it when they have strength of character, are unfailingly present for their subordinates, and are willing to go down with the ship, but like. He’d ALSO be a die-hard fan of characters like Jeff Winger.

General Opinion over said character: i have many opinions about keroro. He’s the most puntable little bitch around and he more than deserves it half the time the other characters are mean to him, but like, the other half of the time he DOESNT deserve it and he really is trying his best. He’s my bestest friend. He’s a silly little guy. He’s an awesome character. He absolutely fascinates me. He’s an obnoxious little cunt. He’s just very funny. Keroro has the Power of Friendship on his side unfailingly, but he only uses it as a last resort when the powers of Lying and Scamming People have failed him.
