Unpopular opinion and honestly I'm just ranting but the studyblr tag has become quite disheartening. I have to scroll through 10-15 posts in the "top posts" column to reach original pictures, otherwise it is just aesthetic moodboards of pinterest reposted pictures. Which is fine, I have my opinions but I don't really mind those, plus they're good motivation sometimes.

My issue is that why do posts with original pictures not get as much attention? We should be able to see pinterest moodboards and original posts in equal amounts but alas.

new fandom, new addition to the blorbo café!

it's been over two years since i updated my tumblr banner, and i'm glad i waited until ggg jumped me in an alleyway to do so haha; i'm very happy with this piece, really shows how much less afraid i've gotten of using saturated colors

on the left we have spamton and doze homestuck, now off having their own little convo by the window; i'm not nearly as active in these two fandoms anymore but i love em and wouldn't dream of leaving them out! also with the new chapters of deltarune set to come out this year i'm sure spamton isn't going anywhere just yet

we've also got p03 at the table! smug as he is wont to be and preparing to block tinker knight in connect 4; yes he has a drink, i like to imagine it's grease and he pours it all over himself like in robots (2005)

speaking of tinker knight, here he is distracted from his connect 4 game by the storytelling god! click clack has come to the café to get some work done and is more than happy to explain their process to a curious tinker knight

we also have a lil itchy homestuck cameo in the background (with a spooky inscryption portrait right above), as well as magnificus being nearly mike wazowski'd by click clack's beautiful hair

and finally we have propeller knight, striking up a friendly conversation in line with magnificus behind him, and a wild capochin appears! presently placing a massive order for inspekta and the bizzyboys with kris, who i imagine has been promoted to shift lead or something considering they've been working at this café for two years lmao

i know it probably makes practical, financial sense that Dohoe moves in with Juyeong instead of them trying to hang on to Dohoe's apartment- without the tutor job and with having to serve 6 months in jail meaning he probably got rid of the apartment anyway instead of paying for it while he was gone, and with Juyeung probably not making a lot of money by the time the official living together point happens after that, they need to live in the less expensive apartment if the other was even available anymore- but i love that it's Juyeong's place they end up in because Dohoe's apartment felt so empty and cold and full of shadows, but Juyeong's place feels warm and full of light.

Dohoe's apartment was big and fancy and sparse and a manifestation of the lies he was living, the trappings of success without any real substance filling the space at all, a place that had stuff in it but still felt like it should echo with how empty it was. it's where he asked Juyeong to focus on only the present, and it's where they reconnected physically with each other, but especially with the flashback comparison to their first time together, there's still the obvious disconnect between them emotionally at that point.

Juyeong's place is cozy and warm and his bed is surrounded by windows and actual lights, with a lamp at the foot of his bed and a bulb hanging over the pillows AND a desk lamp on the desk right next to the bed; the whole place is full of personal touches and bits and pieces of his life and the things he loves, and even tho Dohoe has said he only cares about the present, the first time he walks in the door he immediately is drawn to the pieces of the past Juyeong has kept there. Juyeong always clearly felt out of step and out of place in Dohoe's apartment, but Dohoe is immediately comfortable in Juyeong's space and it feels natural for them to be there together.

it's a home filled with light and laughter and love, and it's where they can start to build their shared future and shared lives and grow together in a place that is a healthy safe foundation for both of them. a place where they can be honest with each other, and be themselves, and just be happy. which is all they've both ever wanted anyway.

Pigeons are not solitary animals, existing within a set "flock" where there is (like many communal bird species) a "pecking order" or hierarchy. For Pigeons in research thus far the hierarchy seems to be limited to navigational decisions with one or a select few at the "head"

Heads are actually heavily theorized to be dependant on size, where heads are more likely than not to be larger (makes sense for if you're that big, you're good enough at survival to maintain that size)

Gotham Pigeon Packs?? A lot of the "integrated" pigeons are deemed navigational leaders due to their programming alarming accuracy.

AKA- Pigeons are smart enough to go "This ones weird as FUCK-" but also "Karen knows where the good food is and sometimes leads us safely away from shoot outs, so yeah she's chill"

(Of course you run into the early issues of pigeons following Tims spy birds into active combat scenes, so a lot of his birds are "retired" and work purely as moving spy cameras around the city- but otherwise live completely normal pigeony lifes)

thinking about arthur and gwen and i think the best part about their relationship for me is the Choice. theyre two people with not alot of agency in their lives, for varying reasons. arthur obviously has a lot more privilege, but has to play a part in order to rule his kingdom properly lest he be seen weak to others and put his people in jeopardy. hes born and raised in one role, to be a prince then a king. he takes it on with pride, but you Know he feels stifled. gwen, on the other hand, is a black servant girl born in a lower class family. she may not have a certain “role” shes required to fill but she still has to work hard to provide for her family and for herself. she has to look and act like a proper lady lest people think shes unfit for her job, she has to be subservient in order to keep her already fragile status. the agency they do have is very limited, not just by society but by their own morals and beliefs. however, despite all of that, they both choose to take a risk with this one thing. they decide to take a risk Together, and they do it for Years!! they wait for YEARS!!! they work hard to be together, to Stay together, and while they may not have been eachothers first loves - they make it last because they Choose to make it last.

personally, thats way more romantic that being destined for eachother. they chose eachother and kept choosing eachother everyday, what else is there to say?

I know I've been on about this for a while now and I'm being a hater but you're telling me SydCarmy was "always meant to be platonic" even though there are two seasons of writing making use of tried-and-true explicitly romantic tropes, themes and writing signals, and SydLuca is going to be romantic because...he was nice to her on screen for a few minutes?

I don't even care if people ship SydLuca, or if they just prefer it, but you can't honestly tell me that you believe Carmy was always meant to be a friend but Luca is an obvious love interest.

Just because Syd and Carmy haven't kissed or confessed their love to each other doesn't mean that isn't very obviously the direction this show is going. The Bear has already shown you who is endgame. It has shown you every episode of the show so far.

Honestly I really don't think The Bear fanbase understands this show or cares about these characters or the story being told here, which is unfortunate because this show is shockingly well-written in comparison to most shows right now, and we should be so grateful for it but all we're doing is complaining that the writers led us on by not making a ship canon fast enough. It's just. Sad.

some of my friends and I (hi @merupasse and @cyclopsboxhead) are working on our own little version of the marvel universe a la elseworld or “what if?” and I’ve been rewatching the new timeline xmen movies so naturally I had to do my own little version of Professor X (and a little Magneto) pre-xmen. 

Really enjoyed how XMFC and DOFP reinterpreted the X-Men mythos through the lens of 60s/70s culture and politics, and I wanted to take that and push it even further. Charles’ pacifism fits in nicely with the hippie movement and I’ve been doing a lot of reading on 60s psychedelia lately so I decided to make him a Timothy Leary-type drug guru figure who uses psychedelics to develop his mutant abilities. (There’s a lot of very clear DOFP Charles DNA in this especially vis a vis addiction and telepathy.) Another fringe part of 60s psychedelia I’ve been deeply invested in is self-trepanation (yeah I don’t know either but if you go on your own little research deep dive I think you will understand) which is so perfect for this I couldn’t resist.
