Ahh, for all the famous regional dishes of Northern Dorenan, naught beats a savory pie for me. Ye’ve made me hungry just thinking about it.

Erandir: what's a special memory from your childhood?

I have vague memories of coming along with my mother when she was visiting someone recovering from an injury. She was bringing a basket of food and medicines. …Sorry, Merian, I don’t remember more details about the injury or medicines. Just that she sang to me on the way to amuse me.

Merian: what's a good cure for stomach ailments?

*is distracted with Erandir’s story* Hmm? Oh, sorry. It is hard to say. It depends on the ailment and also the person. My old standby of ginger makes some people feel worse somehow, though it works well for me. Peppermint… cinnamon… lemon balm… bee balm… bitter greens to stimulate digestion… *steeples fingers and takes deep breath* I do not care if Caliam thinks this is cheating, I have found an article that says it better than I can, and in the name of giving useful information I will share it! But the short answer is that it depends on the ailment and the cause. *hugs*

Arric: what's your favourite view?

Nothing against mountains or forests, but I like wide open spaces. Meadows, or fields of grain stretching out till they meet the sky. I don’t know that I have a clear favorite yet though.

Raya: what's your favourite thing to bake?

I have one oatmeal scone recipe I use a lot. It’s delicious and nearly foolproof—or else I’ve made it so often that I can tell what it needs more or less of—so it’s nice to try different things with. Blaeberries or heather honey with cream are my favorite additions.

Caliam: do you feel you're in the wrong tale?

i like how you show how abuse can warp someone’s judgment and make them do things they don’t really believe in gray wings arc in this feels much better then in canon and actually sets out to show him how they intended too

It's easy to sympathize with victims of abuse and products of toxic families when they're "innocent" and blameless. There's this idea, spoken or unspoken, that if you ever lashed out, or begged your abuser to stay, or went on to hurt someone in a similar way, that you're LESS of a victim

People get locked in those cycles, thinking that their abuser, or their toxic family, is the only one who will ever "tolerate" them. Sometimes people don't want to believe they've been hurt, or that their family could be toxic, because confronting that is painful. Sometimes it's just love. Sometimes you really can love someone too much.

Sometimes you REALLY fuck up and hurt someone else. You do stupid, mean shit. Abuse isn't logical and pain isn't either. There are times where you realize it too late, and only realize it when you're staring at the smoldering ash of a burned bridge

And I want to write that. People who are hurt and hurt in turn, people who perpetuate those cycles, people who break them. You deserved better, and the people around you do too.

Sometimes I legitimately worry about the writers of these silly cat books. They keep writing the realest, most harrowing depictions of toxic family/abuse I've ever seen in my fucking life and then turning around and saying, "and then it was all fine :)" like... are they okay?

Gray Wing would mean a lot to me if this was intentional, but he's RIGHT in the end in canon. "Ohhh he wasnt greedy he was just scared and had too much responsibility :))) i dont have to reckon with anything i said ever :)))". Clear Sky's "redemption" drags the entire arc down with it.

Pokemon Blight / Blur - Aspertia Trio Character Sheets

A peculiar troublemaking trio that specialize not only in seeking out ideals as youthful heroes, but with the weather as well; Nate utilizes rain, Hugh utilizes sandstorms, and Rosa utilizes hail!

Nate Blake - A new hero emerging from Aspertia City. Having obtained his own Pokemon and Pokedex, he leaves on a journey with his friends in his quest to become a hero- a hero that spreads smiles, unlike The Hero of Truth.

Hugh Obsidian - A young trainer who has been preparing for his journey ever since that fateful day when Team Plasma attacked, leaving him and his friends scarred, and his sister with her Pokemon stolen. Even with his recklessness, he still manages to be the most sensible and responsible of the trio.

Rosa Whitefield - An excitable starlet, and Unova's next sensation- or so she claims. Though she seeks the thrills of life and to have the spotlight on her, she's more keen than she lets on- her intuition is almost never wrong.

Shugo Chara is SO GOOD at doing slice of life. The kids hang out by going to the beach, they go shopping or go to a concert, they organise parties and events, Amu spends a day out with her family at the park, she helps her mum at the market, or she goes shopping by herself (though still accompanied by her chara’s), and it feels SO GOOD to watch them do stuff like this because it reminds you of when you were a kid, OR, when you were reading/watching it as a kid, it somewhat reflected your life and made you feel really connected with all the characters and think “hey, I’ve done this”.

Even if you didn’t do most of the things they did, it felt like you could, like you were really hanging out with kids your age and going out and being all mature. They do all of this while magical beings are hanging out with them too, but they are also individual characters with personalities that at the same time, are personally connected to you.

This is why I’ve always wanted an episode where Amu just does mundane things like going to the hairdresser. Or heck even a chapter or episode where she celebrates her birthday with all her friends.

Shugo Chara has always made the mundane seem special and fun, which is why I used to think about it A LOT when I was a child and going out with family or friends. “Amu would do this, she would speak like these to her chara’s, etc.”

I still think about it sometimes like that. It’s basically why it’s my favourite story of all time; because it feels so down to earth.

Do you have any thoughts on your fake dating WIP? I saw a tiktok on PR relationships recently and it reminded me of that haha

i'm going to start off-topic by saying PR relationships are really funny to me as someone who works in an area of PR that just.... doesn't really have them? like nobody i've really ever worked with in sports has been strategically dating for any reason. the closest i can think of is like the NBA/Kardashian thing or MAYBE some NFLers (not rlly Josh/Hailee and Travis/Taylor but maybe some older ones). but i still genuinely think all of those were "real" relationships in that the people were probably actually getting nasty together and simply just benefiting from the clout on the side. i can't imagine clocking into a job like mine and being like okay. so we found you a girlfriend. it's just funny bc i forget that the "PR" in "PR relationship" is the same "PR" in my literal job title.

but ANYWAY. i was actually kind of thinking about my fake dating AU today mainly because i was thinking about WAG landoscar content. i don't really think fake dating WIP is going anywhere in the form i originally had it in, mainly because it feels too morose. sometimes that's nice to write, but i don't think i'd ever want to publish it. if i do rehab the fake dating AU, i think it'd be lighter. less lando crumbling under the pressure of being the first openly queer f1 driver and more like... idk, romcom? i really DON'T have any plot ideas for it if the plot isn't "miserable lando," though, which is why i haven't moved on it in quite some time. feel free to poke me with ideas if you so please.
