To no one's surprise the theme park nerd whose favourite character is the little purple mascot has fallen in love with the video game about a theme park with a little purple mascot. In addition to watching playthroughs and secrets videos about Indigo Park I also rewatched the character introduction video and noticed a few things: (spoilers for chapter 1 below!)

In Mollie's intro, UniqueGeese says that she's "a loyal bird who would do anything to protect her friends." This may be why she's the first one to face us, but also why she waits to take us down until after we fend off Lloyd. (While we technically don't see her head on until after then, she does show up multiple times on the train ride, including very close behind us in Lloyd's section, and probably could have killed us sooner if she wanted.) We weren't seen as a threat until our critter cuff causes Lloyd to flee in the theatre, and from there she may have decided to target us to try and protect everyone.

In the cast intro video UniqueGeese also speaks about how Mollie's his favourite, which makes it surprising that she's the first to die and makes me think that we're not done with her quite yet (though he did say on a recent livestream that we wouldn't be seeing her for the next few chapters, so this is just my speculation).

In Lloyd's intro, it states that he "struts across the stage with an air of arrogance that could rival any monarch. He's friends with the main cast, but he's really starting to push it." I think this may be why Rambley doesn't like him, and I wouldn't be surprised if we learn that other members of the cast dislike him too.

For some reason, Finley's intro censors that he collects sea shells. While it's understandable that some info aside from his name and image would be censored to preserve some mystery prior to the game's release, it strikes me as odd because it seems like a small and innocuous detail when stated in chapter 1. As well, Salem, a character who we are shown a lot less of and is still shrouded in mystery, has no extra details censored from their intro.

Not lore related but Salem uses they/them pronouns! Just wanted to add it because I've seen people online asking about their gender.

Speaking of Salem, their intro says that they're "quick, cunning, but try to hide it with their 'punk' exterior." Being quick and cunning don't strike me as things to be hidden with a punk exterior, and while I may just be looking deeper where I shouldn't, this leads me to think that Salem may have a softer side we haven't seen yet. This combined with the later note that they "can use countless inventions to get out of a sticky situation" makes me think that they may actually help us later on, despite their actions in the arcade game showcasing them as a villain.

My only note for Rambley is that his intro states he can get "a bit too excited, [but he's] always there for his friends" which fits what we've seen so far. I think he's trustworthy and just happy to see someone back in the park, and that if he does turn on us it will be against his will (though this is my own speculation and not from the intro).

Not from the character intros, but in another video (specifically the one about the knockoff merch), UniqueGeese says that we receive an item from Rambley in chapter 1 that will be used a lot more later on in the game. I think it's safe to say that's the critter cuff (as it's the only item we get from Rambley directly), and I'm curious to see what more it can do – so far, we know it can get us into various areas, fend off attacking mascots with a specific frequency (from Lloyd's encounter), and will eventually be able to resuscitate us (possibly being a checkoff's gun to be used later).

preface: this is my first time doing this, these are all either my personal placements or I've had multiple experiences with a certain placement. none of this is absolute, pretty pls take it with a grain of salt, these are very general. Mercury in the 8th house: naturally good at reading people, interested in psychology, religion, spirituality, astrology. chronic over thinkers + intrusive thoughts galore. could either really enjoy giving/ receiving head and/or dirty talk, reading smut.

Fixed Rising: the RBF (I love y’all). 

Vedic v. Tropical Astrology: honestly I think they’re both valid, and everyone should decide what placements resonate more with who they feel they are. Ex: I  have Venus, Jupiter, and my Sun in the 7th in Virgo (Tropical) but they’re in the 8th in Leo (Vedic). I feel more of the 8th house but in Virgo.

Pisces moons: I never feel like they’re listening to me if they aren’t looking at me because when they’re looking at me I can literally see them digesting the info w/ their dreamy eyes, but when they look away I just know they’re imagining some kind of fantasy that has nothing to do with the convo. 

Libra Moons: try to be soft and sweet but they have that fiery underside. I've noticed they’ll get all excited and sometimes aggressive and then apologize for it, like no girl look at you having a good time. they usually look aesthetically pleasing, you will never catch them not matching/ lookin raggedy in public, but they won’t judge others for it, Virgo and Taurus will haha.

Virgo + Libra: specifically rising + degrees, moon, or Venus combo usually have clear, healthy looking skin, especially after high school w/o all the teen acne hormones. 

Moon Conjunct Pluto: anyone else noticed the effect these placements have on their peers? it’s so weird but people are like magnetized to whatever house this placement is in. I guess cos it’s generational and yk it’s Pluto, but people around this placement can’t help but be enticed by these individuals. could be amazing actors if they can harness those dark emotions into a piece of work. these are the type of people to succeed out of spite of their trauma; very determined people. they can put such dark emotions into easy actions and words that others find hard to say out loud but they don’t shy away from dark stuff, they’ve dealt with darker topics since they were young.

Neptune in the 1st house: people constantly projecting onto these placements ! it’s important these people form a ground sense of self they can remind themselves of when they feel like someone is protecting on them. I have this placement and someone told me I was intoxicating to be around/ they felt intoxicated around me though they are sober. I fr think people get drunk off the illusion of this placement. These people are never what people say they are, if you want to get to know them I beg of you to please talk to them yourself instead of listening to others opinion of them. the women are cursed with the manic pixie dream girl trope. hella sex appeal bc of the blurred perceptions. make amazing actors/ musicians. very intuitive placement, but can doubt themselves.

I’m interested to hear your thoughts on Tim saying in that recent interview that the choice to bring Marisol/Edy back was Ryan’s. We’ve seen how deeply Ryan understands Eddie, so I’m wondering why he specifically wanted that character back who has less than zero chemistry.

Mmm. Well, there's been a lot of talk going around about storylines being switched up. Apparently, both Buck AND Eddie were in talks for this coming out storyline (which--I'm still mind blown that this is info we even know). So obviously, there had to have been SOME conversations with Ryan about it.

It seemed to me like Tim's original plan was Natalia because he said he wanted to do something with her (not necessarily keep her around for a while, but give them an ending story arc). When the actress declined to come back, I think his second plan of action was Lucy. Okay, Lucy comes back and what? They explore a relationship? Idk. But when the actress ALSO couldn't come back and Tim was looking for someone else, I think the idea of bringing Tommy back led to a question for Tim: do I have him with Eddie or Buck?

Tim also says in the latest interview that he couldn't just have both of Buck and Eddie's love interests fizzle out over the hiatus, which says to me that Tim probably wasn't all that interested in Marisol either. I think that if Natalia had stayed as originally planned, Marisol would've been the one written out.

Lou said that from his first call with Tim, he was aware that his character was going to be gay and getting with one of their two main single men. I think that probably their earliest conversations was about him being with Eddie. And if Tim was talking to Lou about Eddie, I'm nearly positive the conversations had already happened with Ryan.

I think that the original plan from Tim was to have Eddie's arc this season be getting with a man, Buck's being with Natalia, and maybe having Lucy come in to once again throw in a wrench. But no Natalia led to Lucy possibly being his main LI. But no Lucy meant that now Tim was in a lurch with Buck. What can he do with him? Well, if the plan was always to get Buddie together eventually, and to have both characters have a coming-out arc at some point, they can do a switcheroo.

I think most likely Ryan suggested Marisol because he was aware that they were in a lurch for Buck, and probably because he felt the storyline fit better into Buck's story at the moment than Eddie's.

Tommy can get with Buck, and have Buck be the one to realize he's queer first. It makes sense because while Buck may be oblivious to his own feelings, he's not repressed like Eddie.

We still have Marisol around so we can use her as a backup and as a vehicle to have Eddie continue to deconstruct his compulsory heterosexuality, which in the end, Ryan probably realized was a story that needed to take its time to be scrutinized and handled well. He's aware that all of his past love interests (Ana and Marisol) have been "filler" in his words. He probably wanted to suggest that Marisol finally be given a bit more so that Eddie can actually LEARN something from these relationships instead of just the unending cycle of date random woman -> break up with random woman, ya know?

So, to answer your question, no. I don't think Ryan specifically asked for Marisol to come back because he particularly loved the character and wanted her around in his storyline. I think he recognized that there was somewhere his character could go with Marisol that would be interesting and fit his character arc and so he suggested it and Tim agreed.

Who's Read What in Dracula? Masterpost

This is a little self-assigned project to try and keep track of who has read (as well as written) what documents, and, importantly, when they do so. Last year I spent some time thinking about this and it informed some of my thoughts about specific characters' perspectives and actions in interesting ways. So I thought it could be a neat resource to have for others!

I'm going to update this in time with the novel, so there won't be any spoilers. This post is going to be a master reference, with links to each individual character's posts. I originally wanted to do this as a series of graphs for each character, with color-coded bars for each document they've read, but I'm not savvy enough to figure out a non-confusing way to do so, especially given the number of different authors/documents. Instead, I'm going to have a separate post for each character, and just have the info in written form there. Here are the links to each of those, in order of introduction:

Some housekeeping notes: Obviously, each character will have read their own writing. I'm not going to update day-by-day for any such things. Instead, I'll only update whenever they access new information by someone else, or begin what I'm counting as a new document.

Most of the time, we know for a fact when characters get access to a new document. However, there are a few exceptions. I have my theories, but I will mark them as speculative whenever that label applies.

I break up documents based on chunks of information and have assigned titles to them as such. The labels may change as time goes by as needed to avoid spoilers. I also try to add in dates, but for any longer accounts it will just be a range of dates rather than every entry.

Below the cut is a list of all the documents, in order of appearance, with dates. I'm using color-coding for all the main authors, which will match the colors used in individual character posts. This too will be updated over time, so no worries about spoilers here either. GENDER NEUTRAL READER A/N: Enjoy my contribution to new years. Also all stories, and most characters part is connected somehow.. read all parts to get a few extra info.. you don't have to though! Slight spoilers in the first headcanon for Lilia, so skip over the first sentence!

A new year was nothing exceptional to the fae, as he lived through many years with his long live span... He didn't find the mark of a new year worth celebrating.. that was before you convinced him of course.. You had convinced the young fae King to throw a party.. to mark the start of a new year.. You had rarely asked for anything since your marriage.. So, he couldn't help but agree... Had you known that Malleus would have interpreted your wish in such a grandiose way, you may have gone back and asked him to rethink your decision, for your lover not only held a banquet so grand, it could be on par to a wedding.. all of the kingdom's nobles and some of your friends will be attending as well.

He didn't bother batting an eye on the expense, as he wished for your happiness above all else, had he known you wanted a simpler event with only your immediate friends and comrades, he would have reconsidered his rather excessive decisions but what could you do.. your lover went this far just to make you happy.. you couldn't help but find the action quite.. cute..

The event was quite exhausting, but you spent the day with your friends, and greeting some guests and generally trying your best to enjoy the event as it was.. though you did get in quite the trouble.. when Lilia had convinced you to participate in a drinking game.. You didn't know how many drinks you had by now. All you knew is that you had to beat Lilia, your pride was on the line here! It wasn't until Malleus took notice of your excessive drinking, that you stopped and everything after that was a blur in your memories..

The next morning you woke up with the excessive hangover.. And whenever you approached Malleus he got quite flustered.. 'What the hell did I do last night?...'

Lilia was quite shocked when he had gotten the invitation, all the way here in the the land he had chosen to retire in. He figured if he were to go, he should go with you.. I mean the two of you were bound to go together anyways, it just took a little convincing for him to make you step out of the comfort of your home and to the palace, but then again, the sly fae has almost always gotten his way regarding such events. You had expected the journey to take long, yet the trip went by unbelievably fast.. Needless to say you were grateful you didn't suffer from motion sickness...

When the two of you arrived at the banquet, it was fairly crowded.. and somewhere along the lines your partner had left you, telling you to enjoy it here 'that sly bastar—' before you could finish your thought someone had asked you to join your table.. unexpectedly It was one of your old friends! The two of you began talking and an hour passed, when suddenly you noticed how the crowd gathered elsewhere.. being the person you were, you didn't pay it much care.. until of course you realized it was Lilia.. up to his old man antic's again.. He apparently challenged the ever so competitive monarch to a drinking battle! And.. the King had to carry them out, while they struggled in his grasp.

"Lilia what did you do?" you asked the ex-general, as he gave you a sly grin. "Don't look at me like that and answer the questi— oh." he continued grinning, as you started putting the puzzles together.. "You know whatever your planning is not gonna end well right...?" he simply nodded.. Later on you found out the two of you will be spending the night in the castle as well.. Maybe you should rethink the idea of dating an ex-general who's this rash with decisions..

Silver hadn't expected to get and invitation out of nowhere during his break, his original plan was to spend the entire break with you, under warm blankets, eating snacks and whatnot while watching your favorite shows on Twistflex.. it wasn't anything exceptional.. yet the that's how the two of you spend Christmas together, and enjoyed it.. if you were honest Silver was such a sweetheart, the two of you spend a lot of time gathering ingredients and going shopping together.. And according to your schedule, right after celebrating new years as a couple, the two of your would go visit his father. Yet now everything had changed, as the king was throwing a party for the New year, something rather unexpected, but who were you both to deny.. after all you could do your plans another day as well! After all, you guys spent every moment you could together, being partially inseparable..

The two of you got dressed, taking your time to go to the banquet, knowing fairly well, the earlier you leave the more the traffic will be.. after all it was a invitation to the king's palace.. everyone would want to go early, and expect traffic to be fast if they left earlier.. that and you and Silver slept in and almost forgot about the invitation entirely, but then Silver got a call from Lilia and he remembered that their was an event the two of you should be attending..

The two of you made your way inside.. only to discover his dad's little 'prank' he calls it.. the two of you just got there, and began rethinking your choices.. maybe saying you two were out of town was a better idea then coming here.. Even so, the two of you enjoyed the meeting, catching up with friends... and etc.. The two of you enjoyed the day, even after whatever the hell Lilia did... since no one would tell you two.. what had fully happened.. that was until you two were on your way back home, and overheard Sebek ranting to his partner about Lilia's actions.. The two of you stared at each other dumbfounded, before letting out a laugh.. Something that Sebek didn't notice, but his partner surely did, giving the two of you a light wave. The two of you waved back, acknowledging their presence, before making your way back home.. Hopefully, the rest of the night could go well and you could continue the plans you had made previously, instead of falling asleep.

It took a lot of convincing to get Sebek to take a break.. but Malleus forced both him and Silver to take a couple weeks off.. He was more than capable of protecting himself.. But Sebek.. is well uhh.. Sebek! The two of your Christmas went surprisingly well, as Sebek was fairly cooperative for someone who didn't plan on taking a break.. The two of you even had plans of travelling out of town for new years.. So as far as you both were concerned.. you two hadn't planned anything for new years.. That was when you two received an last minute invitation to the king's banquet..

Usually Sebek would've rushed to the banquet, yet this time around your partner took his sweet long time.. something unexpected, yet pleasing nonetheless.. The two of you finally left for the banquet an hour into the party.. And when you got there another 30 minutes had passed.. And the sight was truly one to behold. Lilia drinking along with Malleus's beloved spouse, the two were chugging down glasses. And you could've sworn Lilia's fiancé lost a bit of their life force upon seeing the dreadful sight.... as for your boyfriend.. he froze in his spot. He didn't move.. 'was he even breathing?—' you thought, slightly concerned for the health of your lover.. He was loud but lovable nonetheless!

You glared at Che'nya when your round was finished, he seemed to have enjoyed your torture quite the bit.. "I nominate Che'nya for this round" you said aloud with a burst of confidence, it was probably the alcohol.. but no one was going to complain.. they could mess with you two a bit more!

By the end of it the two of you were rather tipsy.. the last thing you could remember was you and Che'nya making it a goal to finish this pie.. of some kind.. It was a bet you made with... er... Cater!! Your mind went blurry from there.. you probably fell asleep.. as the next time you woke up you were back at home.. with the most horrible of hangovers.. "Screw you Che'nya—" you muttered underneath your breath, as Che'nya chirped in from no where.. "Hey! What did I do?!"

okay, so i actually do have a more… debatable reason why i believe J is the chapter 2 culprit. i’ve never mentioned it before, so i might as well.

time to break it down. ^^

again this is more of a personal interpretation that can be argued one way or the other, but for me, J’s secret quote regarding Mai Akasaki is one of the major indications of J being the culprit.

i’m not going to elaborate on what the secret quotes are since i assume many people know about them already—but for clarification, i am referring to the ones that appear on Mai Akasaki’s info page.

okay, so my point: until at least the chapter 2 victim, each character’s secret quote and/or bonus episode related to Mai Akasaki happens to be correlated with the reason behind their death.

i’m just going to work through some examples.

Xander’s quote regarding Mai is as follows:

“She couldn’t stand to do nothing.”

(also fun fact—when i went to fact-check, the first quote that appeared for me was coincidentally Xander’s. what luck.)

this quote is specifically about taking action—though we don’t have any details that could indicate what exactly Mai was trying to do, it might’ve been a plan exposing the fatal flaws of Hope’s Peak that went terribly wrong (and resulted in Mai’s own death).

in my own interpretation, Xander himself takes actions that represent the need to do what it takes to end the killing game, even if it means going against his own morals. but in the end, he trusts in himself that killing the-person-who-may-be-somewhat-responsible-for-the-killing-game is the right decision, and he goes through with the plan. this ended up in his attempt to murder Teruko, and consequently, his own death (though due to Min’s intervention). in other words, Xander’s choice to take action was the very decision that led to his downfall.

…please let this be a definitive correlation.

alright, moving on to Min’s quote regarding Mai:

“An average girl with nothing special at all about her.”

…okay, maybe not the most helpful. but there is a different source of information i can use, thankfully. time to refer back to Min’s bonus episode with Mai.

towards the end of the video, Min says this:

which is… incredibly ironic in correlation to the events of the first chapter. Min, in fact, does help someone. Teruko. Min defends her from Xander after he stabbed her. but Min’s intervention is exactly what led to Xander’s death—and consequently, what tied Min to the same fate. if Min hadn’t been there to defend Teruko (albeit the whole “manipulate the crime scene to make Teruko seem to be the culprit” part), she likely wouldn’t have died via execution like in chapter 1. so to me, Min’s desire to help others—as was detailed in her interaction with Mai—was exactly what led her to her fate.

either way, for both characters, a core theme that was involved in their “cause of death” (or motive to murder depending on how you look at it) was also closely linked to their relationship with Mai Akasaki.

okay, so how does this relate to J? at all?

well, uhm—might be best to take a look at J’s secret quote related to Mai.

“She kept it a secret, and told no one.”

this quote is very likely related to J’s connection to Mariabella Rosales—which is detailed very clearly in her motive secret.

so… quite frankly, i’m scared this is a major red flag. it feels very fitting for the person with a quote related to their secrets to be the chapter 2 culprit—after all, it’s not only related to the official murder motive, but the secret detailed in this quote is something that J is incredibly defensive about and would hide at all costs… if it wasn’t for Arturo exposing her in front of everyone. it would be interesting if somehow, the already-revealed motive secret was a major motivation for the murder. i feel like it would also make sense for J to have a bonus episode that discusses her origins and the deeper reasons behind her hatred of the “selfish and artificial celebrity” lifestyle she was forced to live in for so long.

but… that’s more speculation, not an actual claim. it’s why i never addressed this in my death predictions post. (-.-;) well, at least this is one way to show my thought process.

I rambled for quite a bit so I'm putting this under a read more:

Appearance wise Yoichi is the more traditional of the two with longer hair and sheer white clothing if he is wearing anything. But I think AFO would explore his style a bit more (on days he chooses to wear clothing of course) He often takes garments from those he has drowned, he may wear the tattered pieces around him like a robe. An older AFO might even wear some actual shirts if he is feeling fancy.

Both enjoy adorning themselves in foliage and wreathes but between the two AFO is far more likely to not wear them, and when he does he prefers more ostentatious and darker arrangements. (Even in death and a quirkless world he still needs to dress like a super villain lol). Additionally I have thought of them both with very long hair like would be more traditional for Nyavka, perhaps they did that when they were younger.

Concerning local legends, no one knows AFO's name but they are certainly aware that something lurks in the waters of the forest. Locals say that after two brothers drowned after being chased out of a village, a massive flood destroyed it completely, due to the work of a vengeful spirit. Not to say that AFO is the only spirit in the forest but he is certainly one of the most aggressive and consistently murderous. Yoichi meanwhile goes out of his way *not* to drown people and can be even be benevolent when not giving in to his urges. And the neighboring rusalka (other water related spirits) tend not to drown everyone they come across, only those who they find amusing or who insult them.

Onto Machia. . ..Machia is a huntsman who was raised in the mountain nearby. Unlike many other people who have discarded myths he is very aware of legends came prepared with the proper things to keep his life and to bargain properly if he were to encounter any spirits . . . And encounter a spirit he did as AFO stood in river expecting another easy victim.

But Machia was something new. Countless others had begged before. But to have someone look at him in all of his terror and beauty like he was something to be worshipped instead of just sniveling in fear? To throw themselves at his feet offering themselves completely to him without having to strangle them first? That was new. . .Machia's proper offering of a bejeweled comb certainty helped him gain favor as well. (Like some rusalka stories Nyavka sometimes are placated with gifts such a comb in some stories) So AFO decided to let him live. . . With the promise of Machia returning with more finery naturally. Machia of course falls head over heels for him, while AFO is delighted to be worshipped. I imagine in his own way he does feel some affection for Machia (even if he does not recognize it at the start) but it's certainly twisted by his being an undead spirit and it's very much again based on what Machia can do for him.

As for Kudou . . . Oh he despises Kudou. Yoichi is his and has always been his. When Yoichi fled with the man it was naturally Kudou's fault and not a result of AFO trying to kill Kudou and control Yoichi. The two were born together, died together, and he refuses to let some mortal break those bonds now. This concept has many versions, in several he either tricks Yoichi into killing Kudou (with the help of Machia) or drowns the man himself. Even in happier endings where Yoichi escapes with Kudou, he is willing to take some extreme actions to hunt him down and get Yoichi back.

Some other miscellaneous info: - even an undead quirkless AFO is still a hoarder he collects trinkets from drowned souls and the villages he has ravaged. He and Yoichi live in a cave which is primarily filled with this "treasure". He appreciates the luxurious offerings Machia brings even more, even if he has no use for fine furs and horilka he still likes feeling revered. -Yoichi and AFO had a frankly miserable and short human life, during which they were both considered cursed by those around them. Neither of them have many good memories but Yoichi is more idealistic and willing to let himself be more vulnerable around Kudou, while AFO would prefer to pretend he was never human in the first place. One of the reasons he likes Machia so much is because of how he treats him like an untouchable god.

I really admired you and looked up to you. Parts of our system were influenced by your journey to do the same. Our gatekeeper watched many of your videos and found them to be helpful. However, due to your association with a certain person, and after what I've been hearing about them influencing other systems to think they have a ramcoa history when they don't, I don't trust myself anymore. I don't know if I'm a real survivor anymore, maybe I was just led to believe I had that history due to the amount of information I was taking in from various sources. I wish I could still trust you, but I don't know if I can anymore. I also don't think it's a good idea to go into such graphic detail about your trauma. It caused me to do the same and feel that it was okay to do so. And I kept triggering other alters due to that. I kept pushing and pushing through it. And I did make progress with certain alters, but I think it really put me in an unhealthy state of mind too. I don't think I was ready to be dealing with that. Now we have a fight-reponse alter who will stop at nothing to ensure we deprogram and become free, even if at the expense of other alters and our overall wellbeing. He only cares that we keep fighting, that we tell our therapist information about our system and get her to believe us and help us, even though it's a lot for some alters. He's become a very dominant member of the system now, and has even tried to hurt persecutors before they can hurt us.

I am assuming you are talking about the Legion system. Yes, I was friends with them for some time. About a year or so. However, I’m no longer friends with them and do not associate with them. I’m not sure why you think my association with them has anything to do with them trying to make people believe they have ramcoa when they don’t. I wasn’t involved in their interpersonal business with others. I apologize if this makes you feel like you can’t trust yourself or is making you go into denial, but I fail to see how this is somehow my fault.

Blaming me for sharing information about ramcoa and my trauma and saying you think it led you to believe you had something you may or may not have is not my fault. I educate about ramcoa in efforts to help others who have it. I make it very clear on both my tumblr and my tiktok that I don’t do armchair diagnoses. So you came to this conclusion yourself, and you coming to that conclusion by watching my content or reading my content has nothing to do with me. I’m not trying to influence anyone to do things that are unsafe in therapy (like deprogramming too fast), and just because you saw me talking about my trauma history made you do the same does not mean I forced you to do so. Placing all of this blame on me, an internet stranger who is well within their right to talk about these subjects, is incredibly unreasonable.

I understand you may feel betrayed by the situation that happened with Legion, but imagine how I feel? They were my best friend and I lost them to TERF ideology, even though I tried to warn them not to go down that path. And I have learned a lot of things from other people that I never knew about them, because I don’t really interact with much people online, so I was never aware of their actions outside of the ones they did with me. Learning that I was friends with someone who did some shitty stuff that I never knew about has been devastating.

However, blaming me or even Legion for how your system has chosen to heal is absurd. Because I tell people deprogramming is possible and share info on ramcoa and how to deprogram, suddenly it’s my fault that an internet stranger’s system is going about things in a way that is causing them distress? And trying to tell me not to share my trauma because it made you decide to share your trauma too? No, I didn’t make you do anything.

Don’t tell me what I can and can’t do on my healing journey. Educating the best I can and sharing The Horrors (which are always properly TW’d for the record, so you are allowed to scroll away if it’s not something you want to see) has helped our system heal, grow, and find community. I won’t apologize for doing so, but I am willing to apologize that you feel that it made you take actions that weren’t the best for your system’s healing process. However, placing all of the blame on me for this is immature and ridiculous. You are responsible for what information you take in and what you do with it. In the past, I have made it clear that my information is not a diagnostic tool and I’m not a therapist. What you do with the information I share is completely out of my control because I don’t know you and I am not your therapist.

That’s all I can really say here. I am a bit appalled that you’ve not only come to the conclusion that all of your problems in therapy/system healing are somehow my fault, but you’ve also decided to try and tell me directly that this is so. Your actions you take in healing aren’t something that I can control.

If I can offer some advice here—slow down. Help your protector alter who is trying to speed run this understand that speedrunning the healing process will only cause more problems. Help parts understand that trying to go gung ho into the healing journey before everyone is ready to go that direction will only cause more problems. And lastly, if you think consuming my content has been detrimental to your healing process, block me. Because I’m not going to be silent about ramcoa or what I went through. 💥Aries moons💥 : 6.7/10

I have to be honest... I’ve never met an aries moon LMAO. It is hard to believe considering my libra stellium lol but none of my friend group has aries moon. I do know a friend who has a sibling with aries moon. My impressions are that theyre fun and have their iconic moments.They won’t hesitate to fight or call out ppl, they would fight for their friends if they got disrespected and themselves. Altho from wut I see they seem sensitive and if someone gets on their nerves or feelings, they could be passive aggressive or make rude comments towards them. They seem a bit too firey - they can’t control wut they say at times, and it may be hard to vibe or understand their flow at times. They embody their feelings a lot, and especially when its anger, as aries is a fire sign, having it in moon would make them lash out at times and it may seem unreasonable to others. They’re always on the go in some way, like they’re chilling but the next thing they decide to go shopping with friends lol. A chill to no chill fiesty softie. They’re just not my vibe at times tho.

These individuals are very grounded and in tune with their thoughts and emotions. These people are often loyal to their friends and protective of them as well. They are very easy to talk to and provide a safe space or a comforting space because moon is exalted in taurus. They’re caring and soft individuals at the same time, they like nature and prefer cozy fitted clothing. They give me calm plant mom friend vibes, and are reliable to their loved ones. The type to help you with your homework, or to offer support when you need it the most. I’d say one bad side of taurus is that they tend to be stubborn of their values and nothing can change their principles or mind. They can also tend to stick to their comfort zone and not branch out to new things or opportunities sometimes, but its not a major problem.

Very smart in terms of intaking info and utilizing it, but also becuz of how much random info they take in, they could lose track of some. Easily gets bored of some hobbies or topics, which is why they delve into many to satiate their curiosity and interest. A good learner in school, but may have a hard time focusing if overwhelmed with many information. May struggle with organizing their thoughts at times. Understands concepts and ideas easily. Not very emotional or “grounded” in terms of their emotions becuz they may not like talking or delving deep into their emotions. They don’t show their vulnerable side unless to close close friends. Sensitive at heart but also doesn’t show it, often showing a detached “cheerful” impression. They’re bright people and interested in philosophical and deeper concepts/questions of the world. Though, they’re less vocal about their emotions a lot and I like to talk about my emotions lol.

🦢Cancer moons🦢 : 8/10

Cancer moons are very in tune with their emotions and understanding other ppl’s emotions. They often give clarity or comfort to other ppl when theyre in emotional turmoil, they’re great with supporting and gauging situations - very emotionally perceptive and socially perceptive. Because they’re in tune with their thoughts and emotions in general, their actions are reasonable and considerate. Based on some of my impressions, they’re like the most levelheaded water moon sign and have good judgement, they know how to act and interpret their emotions, know how to read situations and wut to say in them. Cancer moons are able to relate to ppl, able to talk them and make them welcome - validated of their emotions and feelings. As they are a cardinal sign in the moon (cancer is a cardinal sign), they know how to push ppl to be the best version of themselves and motivate them positively. Cancer moons would probably give great hugs/love cuddles, and would probably like to bake/cook for other ppl or close friends. They are sensitive though, and if the placement is underdeveloped/not matured - then they can’t interpret nor handle their emotions well, and may lead to projecting or lashing it out to others at times.

⚜️Leo moons⚜️ : 8/10

Leo moons are very empathetic and sweet - helpful and funny with their dramatic responses. They tend to get insecure or sad at times but dont show it openly - they’ll mention it at times secretly or drop hints but wont elaborate (they also mask it thru humor or in a dramatic funny tone). Leo moons can come off as selfish or insensitive at times when they place their own priority and feelings on the line. Leo moons mean well but they tend to sound manipulative at times becuz of their intentions and way of doing things. However most of the time they’re great supportive and protective friends and will be there for you when you rant emotionally etc. I love being near leo moons becuz of their warm energy and vibe. Their humor and vibes are very life of the party, but they’re also friendly and personable that way.

🌱Virgo moons🌱 : 8/10

Quiet but their mind isnt quiet once you get to know them — they’re very responsive/receptive to others verbally and mentally. Expresses their many interests in books, comics, shows, and music. They have many hobbies as well but are more consistent in doing them. They like to feel productive or keep themselves busy doing something they like, or listening to music when they’re bored. Helpful,thoughtful, and generous, they like to help people and a reliable friend as well. Clingy individuals ngl, but quiet clingy individuals to their close ones. Rather not physically expressive, but very verbally expressive and are sensitive people. They may analyze or overthink their emotions and thoughts. Also secretly nervous/worry if they arent prepared or don’t know wut to do in a situation. Becuz this is the same moon sign as mine, I share a lot of similarities and is able to flow with them when interacting.

🕊Libra moons🕊 : 7.4/10

Libra moons are peaceful and logical. They recognize patterns, weighing pros and cons (both perspectives), and make great decisions for their friends. However when it comes to themselves, they can’t make a clear decision as they don’t know clearly wut they want and they can see a lot of benefits of each type of decision for themselves (which makes them indecisive and don’t know which to choose). Libra moons can be cunning/sly, because they know wut other ppl think/act - sometimes they’ll say/do things that please other ppl. Also they don’t like to stand out/be bold, which can make it surprising when you find out they’re capable of being very keen and planning all these things behind the scenes. I’d say its always very fun and interesting to hear wut a libra moon has to say becuz they’re very sassy/witty, but with class and being calm. These ppl generally are calm till theyre faced with an inner conflict or stressful conflict - it’ll take an physical and mental toll at time as they like things to be clearly solved and peaceful. Libra moons aren’t the most emotionally open, they tend to brush it off at times but then still feel anxious after when they’re in an emotional conflict. When I go to talk to my libra moon friends at times, they don’t provide a lot of emotional verbal comfort or insight, they’l probably tell you to rest, stop worrying, or reassure it’ll be fine.

☂️Scorpio moons☂️ : 5.4/10

Never met a scorpio moon in person, but these individuals seem very magnetic or intense. They are similar to virgo moons in my opinion but embody more of an intensified version. They are analytical or good at reading others and being receptive to their emotions. They also tend to analyze emotions and thoughts but are more emotional and may feel it more turbulently than virgo moons. Loyal and protective of their loved ones, they like to be near their friends and loved ones. Undeveloped scorpio moons may project off of others or be petty. Scorpio moons can be critical or know wut words to use to cut wounds, so don’t anger a scorpio moon lol. They’re also a bit more reserved in nature, quietly observing or having headphones on.

Sag moons are fierce, they wont let others put down their thoughts and expression, restrict their ideas, and will fight if others insult their friend group. However, they also tend to be hot n cold when it comes to their vulnerable sides. Sag moons can be flighty with confronting their feelings and problems at times this can manifest physically, sometimes ghosting ppl on text, or just spending their time doing other stuff unintentionally avoiding ppl in the process. Sag moons are complex, they can be insightful to everything but their own self and when theyre confused - they tend to run or make a decision that confuses their friends when they try to reach out to them (sag moons can be seen as insensitive/hot and cold at times like these) I will say tho that I love talking to sag moons and they will always compliment and show support/appreciation to their friends - sag moons will be optimistic/insightful to other ppl’s feelings and problems... but themselves 😅

🌿Capricorn moons🌿 : 6.2/10

These individuals are concise and like to be direct, though this can make them picky and get irritated easily at times. They don’t small talk sometimes and could be dry texters. They’re reliable and understanding, can take care or provide materialistically for people. People value their experiences and opinions, as well as capricorn moons do care about other ppl’s thoughts and opinions more than they let on. They’re responsible individuals. They can be non confrontational though, towards their emotions or when conflict occurs. Becuz they tend to be logical, they don’t tend to be understanding when communicating the problem out and may blame the person and move on. Also becuz of the practicality of the earth sign capricorn into moon, they tend to be more logical with their approaches to emotions and situations and sometimes it leads to them being inflexible and avoiding as their “logical solution”. Capricorn moons are great if you need to make a decision or ask for their advice, they’re direct and concise with their opinions. They are usually chill, loyal, and grounded friends. 🤣🦆🌱

🐬Aquarius moons🐬 : 6.5/10

They might be the least compatible air moon sign towards me, just cuz their attitude and vibes are very airy and detached. They tend to be aloof and in their head, its hard to read their thoughts at times. They’re chill and friendly or funny - has a relatable vibe which I see aquarius moons being popular with a lot of people/having friends. They seem very nonjudging, but can also have their own strong unchanging opinions. The undeveloped ones could have a god-complex. They are independent individuals, and often emotionally detach from things they don’t care about or has no purpose towards something. They’re not receptive to others all the time, like if they have no similarities with u or no interest - might not focus their attention on u a lot. They like to have chill fun, and theyre independent and mentally willful individuals, just a bit different vibe.

🐥Pisces moons🐥 : 7.5/10

Pisces moons are quite empathetic and clingy people. They get attached easily to their friends and loved ones. Very giving and generous, but also sensitive. From the ones I meet, they may be easily offended by something and sometimes don’t confront (they don’t like confrontation). Sometimes they resort to discreetly beefing with you and it leave you confused, may ghost or cut u off unexpectedly then come back to explain. They’re very clingy and like to express their emotions a lot - talk a lot to close friends etc. The undeveloped ones could have a tendency to be codependent. Pisces moon people are sweet and relatable people, willing to talk ab their emotions and any interests with u. On the Backgrounds and Ages of the Four Lords

So, as previously mentioned, I've gotten a bit fixated on puzzling out all the (admittedly limited) clues we get about the backstories of the four lords. Who joined the family when? How old were they? Were they all from noble families? There isn't a lot of hard info, but the tidbits we get provide some interesting clues.

This is all likely to get a bit tl;dr, so have the short version up front:

Dimitrescu and her daughters all joined Miranda's family sometime between 1920 and 1958 (though probably not at the same time). Dimitrescu was 44 years old.

Heisenberg joined the family sometime after Dimitrescu ‒ probably much later (he may even be younger than her daughters).

Donna joined the family sometime after 1996, probably in her late teens/early twenties (and is definitely younger than Dimitrescu's daughters).

Moreau could have joined any time from 1920 onwards; there's not much to go on.

And there's a surprisingly good case to be made that none of them may be really descended from village's legendary 'four founders'. (But believe me, I've found so much more to talk about than just that.)

On the lords' ages

So, there’s this widespread idea that Heisenberg (and presumably the other lords) were only children when Miranda began her experiments on them. Personally, I don’t think this adds up. I’d assume it comes from Heisenberg’s statements to the effect of ‘she took us to be her children’ etc, (and maybe Dimitrescu’s dismissal of him as ‘but a child’) – though he never does say, ‘we were only children’, just that Miranda had treated them that way.

What little information we do have about the lords pre-experimentation all points towards their being taken as adults – Dimitrescu and Donna being the two we know the most about. Miranda’s notes on ‘experiment 181’ gives ‘Alcina D’s age at the time of cadou implantation as a thoroughly mature 44 (notably, other test subjects mentioned in the same document are also 20+).

We don’t have as exact an age for when Donna was adopted by Miranda, but in discussing the event, the gardener’s diary at the Beneviento’s household does say she’s been an outsider ‘ever since childhood’ – ergo, childhood is in her past. Granted, childhood may not be all that far behind her, if being adopted by someone like Miranda isn’t too weird, but late teens/early twenties would fit – and tracks with how she looks too.

Also worth noting is that Dimitrescu’s three ‘daughters’ have remained ‘children’ since at least 1958. They don’t look all that much younger than Donna, but they do add some supporting evidence to suggest that cadou implantation functionally freezes you at that age indefinitely. Now, as amalgamations of monstrous flies masquerading in humanoid shape, it's quite possible the Dimitrescu daughters are outliers even in Miranda’s twisted family, but I think the point still stands: everything points to Dimitrescu and Heisenberg being their full-grown, middle-aged selves long before Miranda ever got her hands on them.

What year each of the four lords joined Miranda’s family is the more interesting question – the dates we’ve got may be more spread out than you'd think.

Miranda

Miranda’s own encounter with the megamycete is the one we have the most concrete info on: it occurred shortly after her daughter’s death in the Spanish Flu outbreak a hundred years ago, so presumably 1919 or 1920. Images during the game’s credits show a little of the village’s history as Miranda began experimenting on the villagers, presumably soon afterwards, given the epidemic still seems to be in action.

How soon she began her cadou experiments isn’t clear, but was certainly by the 1950s at the very latest.

Lady Dimitrescu (and family)

Lady Dimitrescu is one we have a loose date on: from the maid’s diary we know that both she and her daughters were well-established in the castle by 1958. She may well be the oldest of the four lords. Miranda lists "Alcina D" as her 181st subject – experimentation had clearly been going for a good while by that point. As noted above, she was 44 years old.

Considering how effortlessly she inhabits her role, and considering what we're told about the village's four noble families, it's no surprise that Miranda records "Alcina D" as being of "noble descent." That she carries a 'hereditary blood disease' (presumably hemophilia: famously common in European nobility due to inbreeding) only adds to the picture.

So it is surprising that Miranda goes on to note that she's "not from the village," and Dimitrescu's own diary states that Miranda gave her the castle and her daughters (much as Moreau talks about being ‘given’ his mountain). Even the winemaking notes vaguely allude to the castle having previous occupants (implied: not the Dimitrescu family).

The original Japanese version of Miranda's experiment notes provides one interesting clue: here "Alcina D" isn't just 'of noble descent', but specifically descended from a fallen noble ‒ a detail which begins to paint an interesting picture. It's hard to imagine Miranda doing many experiments on outsiders from wealthy families, whose disappearance could raise difficult questions. But a former aristocrat fallen on hard times (and suffering from hemophilia to boot) might even be prepared to volunteer for Miranda's 'treatments', if given the hope of having her health and fortune restored. So Lady D certainly comes from privilege, but perhaps from somewhat further afield than you might think.

There’s a fan theory that Lady Dimitrescu was in fact the same jazz singer pictured on the cover of a CD you can find in Ethan and Mia’s home, by a band called ‘Lady D and the Pallboys’. And while I think people treating it as definitive canon are getting carried away by what’s more of an easter-egg at best, it's not impossible. A younger Alcina might well have had to work to support herself in the years before meeting Miranda.

The bit about being ‘given’ her daughters seems to hold water too. Though Lady Dimitrescu clearly took many cadou research subjects from her own servants, it may have been Miranda who performed the experiment that created her daughters: she's the one featured in the photo in the book detailing their creation, and the text sounds far more like her voice than Dimitrescu’s.

There's some conflicting info about how much control Lady D has over her transformation into her mutated form. In game, she transforms only after being stabbed with a poisoned dagger, and it doesn't seem that voluntary ‒ in one voice line, she declares that only Miranda has ever seen that form before. So it's odd that Miranda describes her as having 'arbitrary control' over body transformation in her notes on Subject 181 ‒ only to later speculate that "if the subject's regeneration is not properly balanced then she may mutate uncontrollably" in the report from her lab at the end of the game, which suggests no control at all.

This is another detail that does add up a little better in the original Japanese, which may be closer to, "There is also concern that cell division will not be controlled if the metabolic balance is disrupted by poisonous substances" ‒ the speculation there is specifically about poison making her vulnerable, or making her lose control (which it certainly does in game).

Whatever her history, the name 'Dimitrescu' is apparently the one genuine Romanian surname among the lords. Etymologies suggest it may be related to the Greek Demeter, the goddess of spring, whose grief at the loss of her own daughter plunged the whole world into an endless winter ‒ so definitely some interesting thematic parallels there.

Donna Beneviento

Up the far opposite end of the scale, we have Donna Beneviento – almost certainly the youngest of the four lords. We don’t have a hard date for Donna either, but it was clearly after 1996 (and incredibly, there’s a case to be made that it may have been as recent as 2017). But see my other post for (much) more on the mysterious Beneviento family.

Still, even if "the four lords" have been around for much longer than 25 years, how do we know it was always the same four? Maybe Heisenberg wasn't the first to rebel.

The name ‘Beneviento’ sounds Italian (as does 'Donna'), but doesn’t seem to be a genuine Italian name. Possibly ‘Benevento’ is what they were aping.

Karl Heisenberg

Heisenberg gives us much less to go on. He alludes to having spent ‘decades’ as Miranda’s ‘son’ (so, let’s assume he can't have joined the family more recently than the 90’s at the very latest). Dimitrescu dismisses him as ‘but a child’, which does suggest he’s a lot younger than her. Given that Dimitrescu’s daughters joined the family before 1958, and that Miranda was still completing her little family as recently as 1996, this makes it entirely possible that Heisenberg is actually younger than little Bela, Cassandra and Daniela. Which certainly puts a different spin on that ‘but a child’ line – never mind that that man is over 40 if he’s a day old.

The dog tag Heisenberg wears is potentially significant, but not very specific. The shape and design matches German dog tags which came in during WWI, and were still in use through WWII and presumably beyond. Modern designs differ, but it's hard to find good info on when that shape fell out of use. Mind you, I've seen Romanian dog tags of the same shape too ‒ it seems to have been widely used. So this may well hint that Heisenberg served in the military somewhere, somewhen, but it could also have belonged to a friend or family member. The other objects he wears are a compass and a scale, FWIW.

Interestingly, a couple of tidbits from the Japanese game text strongly suggest Heisenberg’s ‘lordly’ status is little more than fiction. It’s not just that Dimitrescu dismisses him as ‘riffraff’ in her diary (though this, too, is stronger in Japanese, where he’s more specifically ‘of low blood’). What's more interesting is that Heisenberg’s own diary echoes the same idea.

Where in English it reads "I was just lucky I had more affinity to the stuff than the other poor shmucks in the village" there’s a preceding clause in the Japanese version (貴族なんて身分も) that seems to mock the idea of his ‘aristocratic’ status. This one being a little beyond my own fangirl Japanese, I threw it to my sister (the one who actually spent a year in Japan), and she suggested something more like, ‘Aristocrats? Status? Hah! We just happened to have better compatibility than regular villagers, that's it.’ Neither of us are super-fluent speakers, but the implication Heisenberg’s called a ‘lord’ only because he happened to survive Miranda’s experiments still comes through.

Heisenberg is, of course, a German name – obviously taken from the theoretical physicist Werner Karl Heisenberg, of uncertainty principle fame, which also ties in with the character’s mad science theme.

Salvatore Moreau

Which brings us to Moreau, at which point I can only really give up. He could be as young as Donna or as old as Dimitrescu ‒ there’s next to nothing to hint at how long he’s been around. We know he’s responsible for creating the first varcolac, and that he had at least one assistant at some point, but the latter did not survive the creation of the former.

That ‘Moreau’s clinic’ sign (complete with picture of a syringe) may hint that he had some past career as a doctor – or it may just be pointing to wherever he ran his experiments on unwitting villagers. Still, the fact it’s so much nicer that the roughly-written sign pointing to his new mountain laboratory does suggest it might be a relic from an earlier life.

In addition to the big 'Mother' tattoo with the jellyfish, anyone paying really close attention might also spot a faint anchor tattoo on his forearm, and a rather cute fish tattoo on the underside. This may all hint at a nautical background, or they could just be your basic fish man = sailor tattoos association.

Speaking of Moreau, given the general hostility that characterises Miranda’s family, it’s surprising the one and only positive interaction between any of them comes from Moreau’s diary. According to Moreau, Heisenberg comforted him about his place in the family, telling him they were each given a flask because they were all needed at the ceremony. Maybe this came out more sneering in person, but given how Heisenberg later dismisses Moreau as ‘that moronic freak’, it’s surprisingly nice of him to bother – even with what he presumably knew was no more than a comforting lie.

Although Miranda's notes describe him as being unable to control his transformation into his giant fish form, it's notable that Moreau is the only character we do see shift back into human form after he first appears transformed. That said, the rest of his behaviour does suggest his control is somewhat limited (and even that Miranda may be manipulating him remotely).

The name ‘Moreau’ comes of course from The Island of Doctor Moreau, famed for creating animal-human hybrids (who likewise had difficulty controlling their animal sides). But it’s also a real French name ‒ apparently one that originated as a nickname for someone with dark skin (from 'more').

A bit more on those lordships

How legit the nobility of the ‘four lords’ is supposed to be is an interesting question. By fairy tale video game logic, it’s only natural that Miranda’s four most successful experiments should represent the four noble families of the region: the ceremony site features four giant statues, you can collect relics that mention the village’s four founders, etc.

But in practice, only Dimitrescu is really referred to as ‘Lady Dimitrescu’, or any other title (if you're paying really close attention, you might catch the Duke referring to 'Lord Heisenberg' and 'Lord Moreau' when you sell him their remains, but in his introductory spiel, it's only Dimitrescu who gets any honours). Donna at least comes from a family rich enough to have a gardener, but Heisenberg and Moreau live in a factory and a dam: not especially 'noble'.

Stranger still, the names on those relics belonging to the 'four founders' aren’t Dimitrescu, Beneviento, Heisenberg and Moreau, they’re Berengario, Cesare, Guglielmo and Father Nichola. Now, these could be first names rather than family names (all seem to exist as both), but they're also all Italian, which makes for an odd combination the French, German and Romanian surnames of the 'lords' we meet in the game. You can find the current lords' names carved in stone in the wall of one of the caves (pictured above) ‒ but just because it's carved in stone doesn't have to mean it's been there forever.

Throw in the fact that Dimitrescu is apparently not from the village, and how Heisenberg mocks the idea of himself as any kind of lord, comparing himself to the 'other poor schmucks in the village', and the whole idea that any of these four are legitimately descended from those founders starts to look pretty suss.

It seems to be a popular theory that Heisenberg at least (and potentially Moreau too) was simply random experimental subjects that Miranda renamed in honour of region’s one-time noble families, raising them to lordly status to support her own legitimacy. But if those old relics are to be believed (to say nothing of the experiment report for 'Alcina D'), I'd actually go a step further and suggest maybe she didn’t even bother renaming anyone. After all, if Mother Miranda declares that the four great houses of the village are (and always were) Dimitrescu, Heisenberg, Beneviento and Moreau, who'd dare contradict her?

On Miranda's filing system

Near the very end of the game, when Chris explores Miranda’s laboratory, we find four books containing her research notes on the four lords. Now, I am absolutely reaching with at this point, but I can’t help wonder if the order of these four books might just be significant – the order in which those four experiments took place, perhaps?

True, the books are lying on the table, rather than filed neatly in order in the bookshelf – but they’re not in the order you fight the four lords (the sequence those symbols appear in elsewhere). Donna’s is the last of the four, which would be consistent with her being the youngest. And Heisenberg’s is to the right of Dimitrescu’s, which tracks with him being younger than her.

So it’s interesting that the first in the set isn’t Dimitrescu’s (as I’ve already speculated above), but Moreau’s. Lady D is second, Heisenberg third, and Donna last. So could Moreau be the eldest sibling? He doesn’t carry anything like Dimitrescu's authority, but there is a certain twisted logic to the idea the hideously deformed Moreau may have been one of Miranda’s earliest experiments. And there's a compelling tragedy to the idea of him as Miranda’s first son, supplanted and outdone by each new sibling to follow him as the years went on.

(Or, you know, Miranda might just have left those four books lying around at random, the order meaning nothing at all. It’s all speculation down here.)

The Duke

No discussion of the four lords would be entirely complete without touching on the fact the Duke was at one point intended to be the fifth lord of the village. Between his name, the fact he's got some sort of weird powers, and has obviously been involved in all the weirdness around the village for a long time, this is hardly surprising.

So it's a little disappointing that the fact that he "was going to be the fifth lord" is pretty much all the notes that come with his artwork will tell us on the subject.

His villainous role in the Shadows of Rose DLC logically should have been a big clue here, but if anything, the Masked Duke only muddies the waters. Miranda's notes on the subject tell us he's merely a twisted copy of "a man I once knew." Which doesn't exactly suggest he was ever one of her experiments, let alone one of her 'lords'.

Either way, the owl crest that can be glimpsed in the background of Duke's shop (above left) and in his carriage (above right) is exactly the kind of throwaway detail that could fuel years of fan speculation. The carriage version bears the text "L'argent defend le droit" (apparently French for 'Money defends the right/the law'), which is certainly fitting.

But the text on the shop background (as near as anyone can make out) reads "The Right Honourable Lady Carolyn Margaret Divine" ‒ a reference to nothing and no-one any RE fan has been able to identify. It could be a reference to material that got cut. It could be a vital clue to a future RE title. Or they could just be fucking with us at this point.

Aaand that about wraps it up for the four lords.

As I said back on my original Donna post, I really don't think there are any definitive answers to the RE: Village timeline. If you'd prefer to headcanon that the Moreaus were once the village's most respected founding family or that the Dimitrescus have lived in that castle for generations, knock yourselves out ‒ there's nothing in the game to say they couldn't have been. Half the stuff that seems to add up one way or the other may be just a happy accident. But the clues still we get fascinate me, and coming up with theories that could fit all the little details hidden in documents and optional dialogue is exactly the kind of challenge I'm here for.

Well here’s the thing, I am actually the awesome, illustrious, super-duper cool creator of the app! Please, save your applause. But recently, I ran into a slight issue… You see, someone unrelated got a bit caught up in all of this, let’s call her C! So C was not on the app when people started to vote for her. But you see there have been a few crises in the area related to Mania and because C’s job is related to handling it, she has been at most of these crises (don’t tell her I told you that tho, it’s meant to be a secret). People started blaming her for these crises and voting against her on the app, based on pure speculation! Speculation, I tell you! (＃`Д´)

So after hearing about this, C downloaded the app. And… I’m afraid I haven’t been completely honest with you my dear readers. You see, if it had been only this, I’m sure C would have ignored it. But, how to say this, there may have been a few… disappearances? Related to the voting on my app? I know, I know, super scary, but it was for a good cause! You see, if people wanted an anonymous social media experience, there are so many other apps people could go to! But, no. The reason they come to my app is the power. They’re so desperate for power. To be able to vote on a person’s continued presence on the app is quite the rush. And so they vote. And vote. And vote. And when they run out of people to vote for ‘a good reason’, they make it up. Again and again and again! It’s quite the cycle.

So my app acts as a honeypot for these people. A forbidden fruit. They reach for that power again and again, not even realising what’s happening until they get stuck in a vote themself. Eventually, all these people who get hooked on judgement, on power, get voted off by the same people that they once stood beside. And when they get voted off? Well. They simply get stored in the servers with all the others, trapped by the very devices they once used to cast their judgement. It’s really, really effective.

The thing is, I did try to warn them! I am after all a journalist, so I made article after article trying to see if anyone would read any realise that the app wasn’t all it claimed to be. But they didn’t! So really, who’s to blame here? ☆⌒(≧▽​° )

But when I talked to C about it, she didn’t understand. She told me that my absolute justice was not as clear-cut as I thought. That I was becoming like the people on my app!! Σ(°△°|||)

But, I just don’t understand. Surely this is a good thing, right? I don’t have to only stand on the sidelines, pointing out injustices. I can take action now! I’m not a little kid anymore! I’m a journalist for this reason! I’m a good person!

I don’t know who I am if I don’t have this. But C is insistent. So, please.

i think it depends on how much they know about each other/where Genya is in his character development! there’s a LOT of factors here so im gonna try and turn it into a formula because that’s my favorite analysis format lol

i don’t know if this is going to make any sense because I don’t know how to do actual math but breaking things into variables makes it easier to sort them in my brain

let’s say K = kyojuro and G = genya. x = how much kyojuro knows about genya, and y = how much genya knows about kyo. a = pre-tanjiro genya and b = post-tanjiro genya. (i assume this would make a difference bc tanjiro makes him less aggressive lol.) Going to leave Senjuro out for now because that’s too many variables for a post that I don’t plan to cross-reference 💀

There’s also the fact that canonically, post-Tanjiro Genya would never meet Kyojuro, but I didn’t think about that until I was nearly done with this post so I’ll leave that variable in as a hypothetical. aG in this scenario can be a control group I guess lol

let’s take (K)x + (aG)y as a base formula, and solve for the dynamic there. assuming x is “Kyojuro knows nothing except Genya’s last name”, and y is “Genya knows Kyojuro as a Hashira and nothing else”, it’s safe to say their dynamic would be mostly professional. Kyojuro, knowing Genya’s last name, would no doubt link him to Sanemi. But Sanemi fervently denies having any siblings, so Kyojuro would likely try to probe Genya for info, due to his brotherly instinct. He’d want to know if something was wrong, so he could help if possible. Assuming we’re dealing with aG, Genya would shirk away the questions, and Kyojuro would back off out of respect. I don’t think Genya would be too rude about it due to Kyojuro being a Hashira, but definitely a bit more irritable and snarky than bG would be.

bG would feel hurt at the mention of Sanemi, but I believe he’d be more open to talking about it. If Genya opens up to Kyojuro, I think they have high potential to form a brotherly relationship given enough time. Kyojuro would feel protective of Genya, and, whether consciously or not, may link him to Senjuro and begin to act brotherly and/or protective of him as well. If Kyojuro knows that Genya eats demons to make himself stronger at the cost of his own health, he’d probably be horrified- food is very important to Kyojuro and he would be mortified at the idea of eating a demon to gain its powers, especially if it hurts the consumer. I’m not sure if he’d try to stop Genya or not, but he’d definitely be concerned about him.

Either way, I think the key variable here is whether or not Genya lets his guard down long enough for Kyojuro to learn his story- then I think their relationship would evolve from professional to a lot more brotherly. Kyojuro can’t entirely help it- it’s in his nature to protect, it’s literally been taught to him since he was old enough to understand. He would want to protect Genya regardless, but learning his story, his sacrifices, and his actions going forward, Kyojuro would almost certainly take him under his own wing if given the chance. I believe Genya would remind Kyojuro of Senjuro- someone who doesn’t fight traditionally, but is so so strong in their own regard. They aren’t exactly the same, but they have enough similarities that i believe Kyo would definitely associate the two.

how knowing Genya would change his perception of Sanemi is also an interesting concept but I’m going to save that for another post lol
