im glad you guys pointed out how wars is fixing legend's tunic and time's letter!!! they're still some of my fav details about a piece!

i love that love is everywhere in this drawing! some of the boys are present even when they're not in the scene.

i asked my Zelda Authority (TM) friend whose clothes I should have wars fixing, my first instinct was wind or wild but they convinced me by saying,

"I'm a sucker for Wars and Legend fighting but still doing small things for one another. I just like a duo that fights like cats and dogs but also would go to war if someone insulted the other person because they're the only one allowed to piss them off."

it opened my eyes to the possibilities.

i also made it gold thread that sparkles in the sunlight, i like to imagine it has a spell cast on it so wars is weaving magic protections into legend's clothes

I’m not exactly sure how to put thoughts into words

I’ve been having trouble with that a lot lately

For weeks now, whatever first triggered it, I’ve been heavily depressed and unmotivated. In fact I’ve been downright terrified and critical.

Everyday I just never felt alive

I felt like I was just existing.

Normally that’s a good thing, but it can only do so much good for so long.

And one thing that despite it all that stayed consistent was this silly comic.

As ridiculous as it sounds, this has single handedly revamped my love for the medium, and it encouraged me to go back to my own content and breathe new life into them.

Now I’m really testing things and wanting something different.

And I haven’t felt like that in a long time. Granted I’m still far from better but you get what I mean.

And after the events of…well having a yaoi fic made about my octonaut au that was highly not cool, I was scared I’d start distancing myself from this series. It’s not the first time I’ve been spooked away from things.

But I don’t wanna leave. And no amount of crying and moping and wallowing from me or anyone else is gonna change that.

I made this comic not to do anything mind blowing, but to have fun. To experiment and learn. And the response of overwhelming support and new skills I’ve learned had made it more than worth it.

So if you want to make fanart or anything fun, go right ahead. Seeing tributes and others being inspired honestly brings me a smile every time.

getting the chance to travel to america to do one of these videos was one of those lucky moments. following the success of the original ‘ranking $1 million homes in europe’ video, the team decided it would be an amazing idea to do the same video in the states, just this time with $5 million dollar homes in every state.

wanting a break away from work, you decided to join will on this little trip. being away from him for so long plus the timezone differences posed a challenge, so taking a little detox from work seemed to be the better idea for the both of you.

will didn't seem to mind. in fact, he was ecstatic. it wasn't everyday that you actually decided or were available to go on trips with him like these.

plus, he'd also always wanted to go to the states with you as a getaway or holiday together as he'd always expressed his desire to take you there someday, so being able to do that alongside shooting the video was a nice bonus for once.

until he needed you to come to this shoot. at first, you were slightly skeptical. will had never needed you to come to a shoot really, ever. only if he'd forgotten something like his laptop at home, so him needing your presence was a bit odd.

however, you thought nothing of it. it would be nice to see will after he'd been cooped up with work all day.

apparently he had something ‘super cool’ and ‘really interesting’ to show you that he swore it would be better to see in person rather than on facetime.

It had been raining for three days. You preferred cool rain to blistering sun, but this was just getting ridiculous now. The rain was non-stop, and heavy, whenever one of you had to step outside for something, you returned drenched to the bone. At some point, Shanks had given up and started carrying his clothes around in a bag and walking on deck naked, just to save himself the trouble. Nobody else was quite as brave, but you all were certainly amused.

You stared longingly out the window from your room, mourning the things you wanted to but couldn’t because of the weather. You even missed just sitting out on the deck and feeling the breeze on your face. If you did that now, there was a risk of drowning (not literally, but close, you were sure of it).

When Benn stepped in with a smile, an idea came to you. You grabbed the older man by the hand, laughing all the while, and began to pull him along.

“Not that I’m not glad that you’re so happy to see me, doll, but where are we going?” He asked, though he was laughing along with you anyway, just happt to be included. The two of you had been dating for a while now, at first a secret, then an open secret, and then quite openly, kissing in front of the crew even when they laughed and cheered. I loved this comic so much. Sure i didnt understand most of it, probably close to none of it but it was such a fun read. The art i can gush over forever (i mean the art before the writers and artists changed) and the direction of it was so creative and engaging (i mean the first title page is so fun and creative! And all the spyral effects and cool ways they blocked pannels and backgrounds and such) but not even just the art but the story itself was so fun. Also its just some cool super secret spy stuff and since when is that not gonna be fun?? An absolute gold comic, the only problem which i talked about last post was the way too oversexualisation and butt jokes directed at dick, its gross, but otherwise a very fun comic

I feel like I’m bad at giving advice so imma try the best I can to answer this my dude, first of all thank you for wanting to ask me! I’d say my art style is very simple in terms with how other artists (especially tf2 artists) draw characters.

If I had to say anything about improving and tips to improve, I’d give an example on how I did so myself.

When I was just starting out to draw I had a habit of looking at other artists work, tv shows, comics, movies, promotional art? You name it. I was always looking. I examined and tried my best to replicate it with a character. Once I watched a YouTube video of someone’s dubbed comic and thought “wow they have a nice style! I like the way they draw noses :D” so then I started drawing noses like that. If I saw someone draw eyes a certain way I’d try to replicate it as well. This was way before I used digital so you could say my work wasn’t the best, and I was like 7 maybe? The more I got older the more I tried replicating stuff and taking things I thought looked nice and tried to do the same in my art.

I did this for a couple years. A problem I kinda suffered from though was when I fixated on a character, I also tried drawing the character the EXACT same way they were from the show or movie or game. It frustrated me when they didn’t look the same.

It kinda helped that I drew said characters over and over and over again but I wasn’t very satisfied with it. I wanna make it a lesson that not everything’s perfect, and I obviously didn’t know that since I was never happy with my artstyle to begin with. I’m still not. But that’s okay, every artist suffers through that, so don’t beat yourself up over if your art style isn’t considered “perfect” to your eyes.

When I started getting into Tf2 (and I mean REALLY get into it. I never tried drawing the characters till last year) I did the same thing of trying to draw them, like on model. Which turns out to be very difficult when you aren’t as confident in anatomy like I was 😀

I was ready to give up on trying to draw em until I ran into animated videos of tf2 characters. And really took into perspective that a lot of other creators used THEIR style to draw them. A favorite of mine being “AlbinoBlackSheep”, the guy that made the “Spy and Sentry” and “Spy x Pyro” animation.

I was mainly drawing Pyro first cuz I found Pyro would be easier. When I saw the way Pyro was drawn in the animations I loved it! And took some inspiration for how to draw him myself. I ended up with something I liked, which was this:

I learned that I didn’t necessarily HAVE to draw them on model. Which I, once again, had a bad habit of doing. I could draw them with how *I* felt comfortable to. And for me, it was cartoons :] I’m a big lover of anything cartoon so that’s what I set my art style on. So drawing the other mercs was really fun!! Especially Pyro, Pyro’s a positive abomination lmao.

The other mercs I did one by one and tried thinking, “how could I simplify these designs?” Which I once again looked for inspiration in other tf2 artists. I found what I liked about the art style and used it myself, with a bit of tweaking. Spy was majorly inspired by “The Silly Spy” animation. I LOVED how they drew his nose. So that’s what I did

(I also drew parts and shapes how I felt would look nice, to clear it up a bit.)

You can say that my main source of upbringing for my art style was inspiration. Small tiny things I liked about others I implemented into my work, and rolled from there.

Taking inspiration is always a good tip for beginners in my opinion, or just in general if you wanna get better with your art style. Inspiration is everywhere, don’t be afraid to take it.

#as someone with a medieval atudies degree. i love this#the way i ended up in it was actually by starting college going 'eh i'm here for a science degree but i should take some fun history-#'classes to break things up.' so i took this medren program. and then i went 'huh that was fun. these other classes look cool.-#-i should take those. i can fit them in my schedule.' so i took 2 more. and then i went 'well the major is only 10 classes plus a seminar-#-and i've already taken 4 plus that seminar so i honestly might as well major in it this stuff ROCKS.'#...which ended with me doing my honor's thesis in medren despite my other major being the one on my degree lol#i took classes on medieval/renaissance architecture including classes and castles and cathedrals. dante'd probably like at least the first#it went both into castle construction and methods of warfare. he could totally end up interested in the bits of castle building that-#-were obviously for keeping demons out rather than just humans. special geometries in some castles that some people-#-assume were just an aesthetic thing that actually lent themselves to magic rituals! either to keep demons out or just. for magic#like strengthening the castle or casting spells against any intruders or something like that

#i think his thesis could be on that honestly. architectural oddities/features in medieval castles and their ties to magic#he could reference contemporary literature about how certain building styles were said to be done to augment magical spells#those reading it might go 'oh those silly/supersticious medieval ppl who thought magic was real! but this is good research' and approve it#bc what's important is remembering WHY THE PPL OF THE TIME DID SOMETHING. like with bloodletting. if someone#wrote a paper on bloodletting and balancing humors and stuff it wouldnt be invalidated bc we know that doesnt work#it would be approved if the research is good. which is what dante would do. argue the ppl of the time built things like that to help-#-them cast magic!#just given my own experience i'd say an undergrad thesis would be more textual study than field work (tho there could be some!)#whereas him going out to all of these castles and documenting both architectural features and existing relics still there-#would be either a master's degree or a phD. Dante with a PhD is kind of a hilarious thought but given his DMC1 comments. sure#his advisor thinks he's kind of insane and also questions how Dante gets to all these places when he doesnt teach and has basically-#-no university funding to speak of but. hey he does really good research. these findings are revolutionary. the places he goes-#-are ones almost no one has visited. or places no one knew about. they just wish he'd write a little more bc he often ends up with#all of this evidence and all of these notes that don't translate into actual essay style writing. it'll sit for a while before he does that#i want to say some of the demon entries (not 5) are supposed to be written by dante...? so he can write sometimes. just puts it off#(i think i wrote like. 56 pages of my thesis in 6-8 days or something insane. bc i had months worth of notes just not in paragraph form)#dante gets close to being kicked out of the program on several occasions but his advisor argues for him bc dante is barely getting any-#-funding anyway and his research is really good! when he submits it! so they don't want to lose him#also it would be hilarious if at one point the uni got attacked by demons and dante saved them. cue everyone being like 'wait. wait.

Their Pokémon Mystery Dungeons AU would be legendary, honestly...

I think that in a PMD Explorers of Sky adjacent situation, Chat would be the protagonist and Magical John would be the partner character. Chat would wake up on the beach with amnesia and see Magical John passed out next to them. They poke him with a stick and when it turns out he's alive, they initially assume he's in the same situation as they are. But it turns out he just got mugged by the Team Skull equivalent for his Relic Fragment, and his memories are totally intact, lol.

They'd have to talk to Cupcake on Magical John's behalf to help him join the guild because everyone's too afraid of him to hear him out when he tries to ask alone, lmao.

Cupcake would be the cheerful Guild Deputy, and I Want Die would be the intimidating Guild Leader that everyone but Cupcake is afraid to talk to. He looks scary, but he's actually really caring and compassionate on the inside! And the other Miitopia party members would be the guild ensemble! :D

Jefferson would be a Piplup, of course, and I think Gilbert would be an Impidimp. Not sure about the rest. Lemme know if any of you have any ideas! :)
