#i just want to start a new adventure

I recently had a job interview with this company yesterday for an office admin/ admin assistant job. It seemed like a weird interview because they said they mostly called to talk to me because they see it's someone who has been in the kitchen industry and that I want to switch into office work, and they wanted to know why.

I gave them my usual speech about wanting something a bit more stable that would offer me a work/life balance and would give me a start unto understanding how an office area works for when I eventually move into the IT world. They seemed understanding, offered me some feedback on my resume (which I appreciated very much) and that was the gist of it. But I walked put of their feeling hopeful but at the same time defeated.

It seems they were mostly concerned about my ability to actually work on a computer. I know that a certain level of computer skills is needed to do this kind of work but I feel I have a pretty good grasp on it. But I might not have conveyed that to them properly. And I get it someone like me, who has more skills in one area than another doesn't really deserve the time of day, and not a lot of companies want to spend their money on training someone who can't do the job at all.

I'm willing to do everything I can to make it in this job. I know I can do it. I just feel so anxious just sitting here waiting for a response from them. (Either an email telling me to buzz off or a phone call asking for a second interview) I just want to do something new, something different, something interesting. I'm so tired of how my life is going so far and I'm not happy in my current job anymore.

The doctor breathes heavily while placing his hands on hips, “I’ve gotten to the conclusion that you’re a perfect doppelgänger of his majesty!”

Michael blinks unfazed by this conclusion.

Lucifer burst through the door, “so how’s my brother, doc?”

“I was just making my analysis, I was about to receipt him a beach tan, oh, and I was also pointing out how many similarities he shares with you that I could almost say you two are family.”

Lucifer and Michael blink twice.

“Nooo, really? My brother the archangel Michael the bitch that casted me to hell be related to me?? Who would’ve thought that?” Lucifer annoyingly rolled his eyes with sarcasm, “soo? Is he sick or not.”

“Well. It doesn’t seem he has any injuries or carrying any illnesses, mostly signs of exhaustion due to the impact of the fall. Aside from that, he’s fine. Just requires some rest and a serious amount of tan sprayer.”

Lucifer scratches his scalp anxious and mostly frustrated, “that doesn’t explain why he fell!” Lucifer then turns to look at Michael, “are you sure you don’t remember shit about what happened before you fell?? Like anything bad, anything sinful??”

Michael denies with his head.

Since I posted some of my old fanart yesterday... if you're not familiar with Slayers, and thus have never heard its amazing music, do check it out. It's largely by the same songwriter, Masami Okui, that did Utena's iconic opening (Rinbu Revolution) and ofc (TRUTH) and sung by a duo of her and Hayashibara Megumi (you know, the GOAT)

The entire OST pretty much slaps. there's only a couple of bad image songs in an absolute expanse of pure gold. GIVE A REASON, the opening to the second season, tends to be the reigning favorite. (I've a hard time pinning down my absolute favorite... of the original openings, it might be Breeze, but all three are so good. Of the entire catalog? Impossible to choose. Midnight Blue, Raging Waves, Within my Unlimited Desires, Gloria, Get Along... Impossible Choice)

I'm watching a Overly Sarcastic Productions video about secret identities and one part that caught my interest was the relation to secret identities and superheroes in a time before technology, (zorro for example) where all the over power would need to do is burn their house down to stop them if they knew who they were (indirect quote from the video)

That being said

Anti hero/secret identity merlin au.

From the beginning he wears a mask and dark clothing so no one can tie back his crimes to the princes manservant. He doesn't go by Emrys or any name, which infuriates Uther and intrigues Arthur. Id say even uses his ability to shape shift to thwart the knights and go in as a spy either in camelot or other scenarios. Arthur has met merlin multiple times doing this, once as a noblewoman at a masquerade ball wearing a black lace fabric hat covered only their eyes. It didn't register until later for him who that might have been the poor idiot

Arthur certainly knows (and alot at that) about the "folk hero" going about his lands, hatefully from his father thats for sure. (Arthur doesn't know he's met the "hero" many times, every morning. Some days he makes it hard for said hero not to turn beat red from how much he laments about him throughout the day to the man himself, flattering as it is)

Scenario where uther has sent arthur to track the man down after he's been sighted, and once meeting for the "first time", they connect immediately in such a way that it gives arthur whiplash and makes him think of anther encounter where it felt as is he had already known the person

Just - merlin who is a magic vigilante who hides his identity and swoons the prince? Fuck yes

Just curious what the average level of personal investment in these sorts of things is. Like, how much do people usually get into silly stuff like this their friends ask of them? etc. etc. Which I know, only surveying a small sample on a very specific website means I'm not getting an exact average idea lol, but.. curious nonetheless .. An independent Courier would actually hate being in charge or enforcing standards in New Vegas. At least in my mind.

They made Vegas independent but I feel like that playthrough/style so clearly makes it apparent it isn't for them. They are making Vegas a place where people can live freely, like how House genuinely didn't care what people did but without the behind-the-scenes Big Brother surveillance he did. Having every family, faction, and other influence group or person comes to them about alliances or rules would be draining, and boring, one note.

In an independent Vegas, The Courier is also Independent. They like getting rid of lines and borders that impede freedom, they like to help give people the tool but I don't believe they want to be the one to shape it.

I do wonder how long Jace has been working at aguefort if he’s the de facto interim vice principal and referred to himself as a ‘veteran educator.’ Like-

Was he a fresh 20-something when he started working there, full of hope and excitement and purpose. Maybe adventuring didn’t work out for him but this? Helping kids become better adventurers than he ever could? He could do this. He loved seeing the joy and wonder on his student’s faces once they learned more about their magic and learned to harness it just like he did when he was a kid. It’s nice and It’s comfortable, he likes his job.

By the time he’s in his 40s he’s a little more tired, a little more bored, but still comfortable. It’s been 20 long years and he wants a little more than still comfortable.

In echoes, witches are made by sacrificing someone to the Mad God, and one of the final bosses involves a character we've seen turned into a unique fire-elemental witch. Her fight is more sad than scary, since she's just a silent, soulless echo of the kind woman we saw before.

I really liked combining this idea with the witch-hunt vibes in Bring it On. In my fantasy au, Fuuta wrongfully leads his band of knights against a village girl, resulting in the townspeople burning her before all the facts were laid out. She was using magic, which is what Fuuta called her out for, but she wasn't using it for any malicious or witchy purposes. When she dies, the bit of magic in her flares up with her emotion and she returns as this type of fire spirit. As well as Fuuta's abstract haunting guilt, he now has a silent, destruction-bringing ghost haunting him each time he tries to run away from what he did.
