Odelloyd (Yodel shipping)
Since @minecraftninjerkid expressed interest I wrote a particularly long post about Odette and Lloyd Garmadon's relationship. It's basically set in my AU of the while Ninjago canon. It's pretty angsty in some parts, and honestly I love this couple because it's a story of two individuals who learn to trust and like TALK with each other and work out their issues together! Plus I feel like if Lloyd needed another love interest within canon it should be someone who can match his energy, a strong young lady who works side by side with him!
Harumi is still the princess but now she has a LADY IN WAITING!! YAYAY
Mostly because she needed a morality pet in some way but also a foil to show if Harumi hadn't been so consumed by personal demons
Odette was a homeless orphan living on the streets with her sister; often stealing from food carts to feed themselves
One night Odette made the mistake of stealing from one of the SOG and they catch her and bring her to their base
Instead of being mad Harumi was impressed by her thieving skills and decided to recruit her. Odette didn't want to at first but then she had second thoughts thinking the extra money could help her and baby sis
So Harumi brings her back and manages to convince the Emperor and Empress to hire Odette as a lady in waiting & decoy if Harumi needed to sneak out to do her business Odette is So instead of it being Harumi it's Odette who stays and befriends the ninja
Odette had NO IDEA her friend plotted to blow up the palace - with her still inside - not great thinking there o' Quiet One
She also had no idea how AWESOME Lloyd is on a motorcycle: "Sweet moves grasshopper!"
They stop at several places gathering clues on the location on the final mask leaving a lot of time for Lloyd and odette to bond; for the first time in forever Odette starts to enjoy life again
The Ninja take Odette in and decide to search for the final mask. Odette does what she can to help out (and find info) getting close to them and my OCs
Lloyd even buys her a gift: a lotus shaped hairpin to replace the one she lost in the palace fight
The jungle incident happens; Lloyd and Odette separates for a while and she comes across the real princess who had stalked the group the whole time undercover
But she's afraid that her big secret might come out everywhere she goes she's often looking over her shoulder
Odette starts to really enjoy the Ninja's company and all her perceived notions about them fade; but she still had to find Harumi to try to talk her out of her plot
Odette meets up with Lloyd inside the caves and they look for the final mask. Finally they see it and Lloyd grabs it, happy that they found the masks before the gang did but notices Odette isn't feeling the same
She's tells Harumi that they're all making a HUGE mistake with the Masks; Harumi of course refuses and orders her to stick to the plan or else
He asks her what's wrong and that's when Odette becomes hysterical and begs Lloyd to destroy the mask or run
Lloyd doesn't know whay she's talking about and tries to calm her down suddenly they hear some sarcastic clapping and in steps in Harumi. Dressed in full Royal Garb
Lloyd is confused and doesn't understand looking back and forth between the newly revealed Princess and the one next to him
Harumi reveals that she is - was - the real princess and that Odette was acting as her decoy to spy on the ninja. She hadn't count on Lloyd catching feelings for Odette which made it all the more sweeter
Odette pleas with Lloyd claiming that while she was ordered to spy, her feelings for him and his friends were genuine. Lloyd coldly brushes he brushes her off and calls her a liar and demands Harumi why she planned all this. The Princess explains that the Ninja failed to save her family from the Great Devourer & that it was Lloyd himself who unleashed such monster on the city killing her parents and several civilians
Harumi also revealed that she had the Emperor and Empress assassinated as punishment for their inaction during that event, and subsequent failure in treating her like a person. "They didn't want a daughter they wanted a Princess."
Harumi takes out her knife and begins attacking Lloyd; Odette watches helplessly as they fight and in the ensuing chaos Harumi knicks Lloyd and orders Odette to return to their group
The Ninja wait by the docks and discovers Odette and the real princess together. They're shocked to see two Princesses; the real Harumi admits her plan knowing they wouldn't last for long to do anything to stop her. An Angry Kai yells at Odette for selling them out
Then the monster attack happens because it is drawn to the mask's essence; Lloyd saves Odette from being crushed, she tries to use the brief chance to explain but he still brush her off
The SOG board their ship and leaves; Odette wallows in guilt Harumi snarky asks her if she really thinks the Ninja are her friends. Odette shakes her head no and looks out the window praying for them to be alright
Back at the city the SOG takes Misako (and Cole's gf Rhenée) hostage to draw Lloyd out. Odette is no longer in her casual clothes but in SOG attire; at the ritual she pretends to be clumsy hoping to stall the ritual long enough
Rhenée asks Odette if she's willing to risk her soul for the terrible actions of other, hoping that Odette can make the right choice. This makes her think about her placement in the SOG
Suddenly the ninja crashes the party just in time and battles the gang. Odette frees Rhenee and Misako and allows herself to be apprehended
Outside she's sitting in the police van when Lloyd walks by and she begs him to hear her out. He wants to listen but is furious with her for betraying them and cuts her off
The ninja head to a bar to celebrate their victory; Lloyd has an honest talk with his mother about Harumi and vows to never trust again. Rhenée says that while Odette lied to them she notices that she's very different from the rest of the SOG
At the jailhouse Odette is sobbing at having lost everything - her friends, her life, and maybe even her sister. She takes out the lotus pin and is about to throw it way when she hears some commotion outside. Apparently the ritual brought back a monster. Fearing for her sister's safety she uses the pin to unlock her cell and sneaks out
Lloyd is too occupied with protecting Baby Wu to fight off Harumi; before she knocks him off Odette arrives & saves him and the baby
In the chaos the Monster arrives and tries to crush them all, Odette gives Lloyd enough time to escape but she falls to her supposed death in the process
Once the battle is over the four original ninjas are nowhere to be seen and are presumed dead
They find out Odette disappeared also, and believe her to he dead too
Harumi and her gang express joy at their enemies demise; and the gang no longer recognize Odette as their own seeing her as a traitor. Deep down Harumi feels a tiny bit pain over the loss of her only real friend but quickly sets that aside to prepare one last scheme
Lloyd grieves Odette's loss regretting they never had the chance to really TALK about what happened between them.
Unknown to everyone, the ninja and Odette were transported to the First Realm
Seasons 9&10 ramps up the angst
Cole is the first one who demands to hear her explanation. Odette explains her backstory and says whole none of it justifies her lies she has now become aware of her actions and is willing to help the ninja FOR REAL FOR REAL
The ninja do NOT want Odette anywhere near them after her betrayal and for a while shuns her.
Zane is the second one; his relationship with former merc Jetta he understands a bit what it's like to choose bad things for survive
Jay and Kai takes the longest: Jay because he's paranoid that Odette may just be evil and insane as Harumi; Kai because he is very protective of Lloyd (who he sees as a younger brother, and even had begun to saw Odette as another sister) and furious that she'd hurt him and their whole team like that
This leads to a series of trials for Odette to prove that she's willing to atone; she actually finds the last dragon's nest and vows to protect it
Meanwhile in Ninjago the city started an underground resistance led by Lloyd and Nya; Lloyd took in Odette's sister to take care of her now that she is gone
Odette and the Ninja finds a way out of the first realm and arrives with their new dragons. Odette splits off to confront Harumi and sees her on top of a building...which is about to fall much to her horror
Lloyd witnesses the scene and shouts Odette's name; the building collapses and he sinks to his knees in fear
Everyone watches with baited breath and cheers as they see both girls and the dragon coming out of the smoke alive
Lloyd and Odette apologize to each other then go off with their friends to fight off the Oni invasion
Once everything is over & Harumi decides to turn a new leaf and surrenders, everyone gathers at the monastery to celebrate. Wu invites Odette and her sister a permanent home with them
After s10 they don't get back together that quickly. Lloyd still has trust issues as in canon and Odette feels like shit believing herself to tbe the cause. Lloyd says it's not her fault, he's simply fed up with random villains coming at him for the crime of being the Chosen One.™
Odette isn't exactly let off easy by the public; there's multiple conspiracies about her and stuff and some aren't exatly forgiving her for working with a group that killed the royal family and destroyed the city. In order to redeem herself in the eyes of the public Odette starts training to become a real Ninja, doing little side missions to help people even something as simple as helping little old ladies use an escalator. Lloyd supports her every step of the way, using his popularity "and natural charisma" to dispel any rumors about her.

Longest Night (43) Eating
Ao3 | FF.net
--
Bonus Scene from last Chapter:
Emilie reclined on the couch next to her husband. She had a glass of whiskey in her hand, her drink of choice. A silken robe covered her form as she rested against the plush cushions.
But she was not relaxed. Not in the slightest.
Gabriel had pulled up the Ladyblog on the smart TV and proceeded to go down the timeline of akumas. Thankfully, Alya had organized the blog to skip all the theories and fluff articles. Only the actions of the heroes and Hawkmoth were shown.
Emilie had scooted away from him when he said, “I was a terrorist.” But she stayed long enough to hear that none of his damage or casualties were permanent. And that he had some regret about his actions. He had been desperate to get her back, and admitted that he had crossed the line so many times.
So now he was admitting to all of his crimes. He was coming clean to her, so she could judge him fairly and for herself.
“I had no idea that Adrien was Chat Noir. I didn’t know until his identity was revealed.”
Emilie found this to be a lie, however, since he reached an Akuma in the timeline when he suspected Adrien to be Chat Noir.
Gorizilla, that was the name. The bodyguard Emilie had known forever was the poor victim. He had turned into a giant blue ape and had Adrien in his grasp.
And then...and then...
Emilie watched in horror as the Akuma dropped her son, her baby, off the side of the building.
“I had hoped that he would transform to save himself, but he very cleverly called my bluff—“
The glass of whiskey was now empty, as it’s contents were in his face.
Perhaps he had been too honest.
“My baby!! My precious little boy! My innocent sweet sunshine boy! You let him get thrown off of a roof on a hunch?!??”
“I wasn’t going to let him hit the bottom. Ladybug saved him.”
“WELL I’M GLAD SOMEONE WAS ON TOP OF IT!” She shouted. “I can’t believe you! Of all the low down, dirty, rotten, conniving tricks!”
“Emilie please—“
“I should throw you off the building and see how you like it!”
“Please calm down.”
“Calm down?! CALM DOWN?!” She found one of her heels she had kicked off earlier. “Gabriel Maurice Agreste! I’m going to murder you!”
He looked at her flatly. “We haven’t even gotten to the worst part.”
Emilie’s primal scream of rage made something click in his brain.
It was time to go.
--
To say that Tom, Sabine, and Gabriel were surprised would be an understatement.
There, standing at the top of the stairs, arm and arm, were Ladybug and Chat Noir. Not Adrien and Marinette, but the costumed heroes that everyone loved. With added hats and scarfs to protect from the December air.
Tom was the first to recover and gave them a disarming smile. “Hey kiddos! Where’s the fire?”
“No fire.” Said Ladybug. “Ice Cream.”
“Ice cream? In January?” Asked Gabriel. “If you want Ice Cream, you could have just asked.”
Ladybug shook her head. “Alya figured out where Andre’s Ice Cream cart is. We want to go.”
“Okay, well, we could drive you—“ started Sabine.
“No!” Ladybug shouted. “I need to get out of this house or I’m going to explode! I need to get away from the smothering! I need to feel the sun on my skin and the wind—“ she choked. “I need to get out there for just a little while.”
“Your suits will draw attention.” Gabriel said it as a thought to be considered, and not a warning.
“I know. But won’t it help? Isn’t everyone asking about us?”
Tom gave a little smile. “What’s the harm? Can you just text us when you get there?”
“I can do that.” Ladybug smiled.
Gabriel spoke up. “Did you make sure Adrien wanted to go?”
“It was his idea.” She said cooly.
“Well, I have been disarmed.” Gabriel shrugged. “Just please be careful.”
“There’s nothing to worry about.” Ladybug assured.
After they both left, Tom looked at his wife and Gabriel. “They amaze me. They are doing so well!”
“I agree. Especially Marinette,” said Gabriel. “For her to not be afraid to go out in their suits...”
“I think the suits are for strength.” Added Sabine. “For them to be able to walk that far, and for protection.”
“That makes sense.”
She frowned. “Actually, I think it’s the suits that are letting them do this well. I found them sleeping in them the other night.”
Tom winced. “That’s not a great sign.”
Gabriel screwed up his lips in thought.
Outside the mansion, Ladybug and Chat Noir descended the stairs and went out to the gate. It was at the point where the media no longer lingered outside the mansion. No one had gotten a glimpse of the heroes, and they weren’t likely to for a while still.
“Do you want to walk? Or take the roofs?”
“Walk. I’m still not strong enough for rooftops.”
“Okay. He’s not that far from here.”
They made their way, hand and hand, to the Ponts des arts.
As they walked, occasionally they were bugged by passerby. Mostly with handshakes and cheek kisses, occasional selfies. Thankfully, since it was January, there weren’t a lot of pedestrians.
Finally, they reached the bridge. Andre spotted them from the other side. “Ladybug! Chat Noir! Oh my favorite duo!”
Ladybug gave a soft smile to the man. “Hello Andre. One please.”
“Of course! On the house!” He prepared a cone, and started to scoop. “One scoop mint chip, for Chat Noir. One scoop cherry chip, for Ladybug, and one scoop cookies and creme, for true, pure love, riddled with trials and tribulations.” He stuck two spoons in the ice cream and handed it over. “Come see me whenever you like. You’re always welcome here!”
“Thank you. This looks delicious!”
It was unseasonably warm. Sitting on a bench looking out on the river, ice cream in hand, everything felt normal for a little while. A lovely ice cream date, something Marinette had always wanted to do with Adrien.
He let out a long sigh.
“Are you okay? Comfortable?”
“I’m fine.” He smiled at her. “My butt hurts a little, but I’ll survive.”
“We don’t have to stay long. We’ll just finish our ice cream.”
“No, you were right,” he breathed. “Just being outside for a while is nice.” A tear rolled down his cheek. “I can’t believe how much I missed this. It wasn’t that long but…”
“The sunlight.” Ladybug finished for him. “It’s nice. I can feel it.”
“And the wind. And hearing the birds. Hearing the water. It’s all nice.”
They ate in companionable silence for a while. Living in the moment with blank minds.
“Hey, you beat us!” Alya called as they approached.
“We decided to get out before school let out and everyone ruined our fun.” Said Ladybug.
Alya and Nino got their ice cream and joined them on the bench.
“So, how’s the dynamic duo today? Haven’t gotten to spend a lot of time with you since we both moved back home.”
“Well, we have sweethearts ice cream. Not much to complain about.”
“Anybody give you trouble on the way out?”
“A couple people wanted pictures, and to express sympathy. It wasn’t bad.”
“It helps that it’s not tourist season, and it’s a weekday.”
“I’m sure. What kind of ice cream did you get?”
“Neapolitan. Or as Andre now calls it, Ninopolitan. Just for us.”
“That’s adorable.”
“I’m not usually a fan of strawberry ice cream either, but Andre’s is so good.”
“His chocolate is amazing.” Added Nino. “I want him to make my wedding cake out of it.”
“What, you don’t want my dad’s better-than-crack chocolate cake?”
“Half and half!” He protested. “I shouldn’t have to choose!”
Chat Noir smiled broadly, his shoulders shaking with mirth.
“Oh, before I forget. Did Chloe tell you about the Mayor’s ball a few weeks out?”
Ladybug groaned. “Yeah. The supposed ‘Hero’s Ball’ in honor of Chat and I? No thanks.”
“It can’t be too bad. A chance to get all gussied up, eat good food, and mingle with rich people.”
“Old Marinette would be excited, but...”
“You’ve got to stop referring to yourself like that, girl. You’ve changed, but you’re not a totally different person.”
She laughed. “I’m not?”
“A lot different, but there’s plenty of things I recognize. Right now, you seem to be doing really well. Besides the hair cut, you can hardly tell.”
“That’s good then.” Said Ladybug. “As long as someone recognizes me.”
“Are you designing a dress for the ball?”
“Gabriel and I are collaborating.” She stated it so plainly, like she didn’t even care. “He found a design he liked in my sketchbook, and he’s altering it. Same for Adrien. He’s designing a dress for my mom from scratch.”
“Oh that’s cool!”
“Poor man, he’s trying so hard to be a good father, but he’s so awful at it.”
Chat Noir snorted.
“He doesn’t get points for trying?”
“No. Not when he’s being awful when it matters. I’ve been yelled at for talking for Adrien, since he still isn’t ready to speak. Gabriel is impatient and bossy. He’s plenty generous, but he lacks understanding.”
“And it’s easy to be generous when you’re rich.” Added Nino.
Chat nodded in agreement.
“How are you today, bro?” Nino asked.
Chat shrugged, and pointed to his ice cream with his spoon.
“Gotcha.”
As they say, all good things must come to an end. And the simple peaceful outing turned into chaos when one person shouted. “There they are! It’s Ladybug and Chat Noir!”
From both ends of the bridge, people came running. Calling out for attention. Swarming.
“We didn’t even get to finish our ice cream,” Ladybug lamented.
Chat Noir, however, trembled at the noise and shifted closer to her, Alya, and Nino.
Alya stood, allowing Nino to wrap a protective arm around both of the heroes.
“Back!” Alya shouted at the crowd, raising her hands. “Back, you animals!”
The mob heeded her commands and stopped just a few feet away.
“Ladybug and Chat Noir are not ready for visitors! They aren’t doing autographs, and they aren’t doing hugs! They’re just out for ice cream and sunshine! So be on your merry way please!”
“Ladybug!” A little girl cried out. She weaseled her way through the crowd and ran at them, ignoring Alya completely to crash into Ladybug’s legs and nearly crawl into her lap.
“Hey!” Alya shouted. “What did I just say?”
“I’m so so sorry!” A woman called, catching up with the girl. “She’s just so excited! She loves Ladybug!”
“It’s alright.” Ladybug assured, petting the girl’s head. “How are you Eva?”
The girl beamed. “You remembered my name!”
“Of course I do. I’d remember any akuma that took six hours to beat.”
The girl giggled. “Sorry not sorry!”
Ladybug lifted the girl so she could properly sit on her lap, while the rest of the crowd stood back and listened.
“How are things at home? Did they ever get better?”
Eva gave a little shrug. “Mommy and daddy ended up getting divorced. But now that they don’t live in the same house, they get along a lot better. Sometimes we have dinner together. It still hurts, but at least they don’t yell anymore!”
“I’m really glad to hear that. I’m sorry that they divorced. That’s never an easy thing to go through, but I’m glad things worked out.”
“What about you? Are you feeling better?”
Ladybug swallowed the lump in her throat. “I’m…I’m doing alright. Somedays are better than others. Today we felt good enough to go out and get some ice cream.”
“Ice cream makes everything better!”
She smiled. “It sure does.”
“What about you, Chat Noir? How are you?”
He nodded with a smile.
“He said he’s good.” Provided Ladybug.
“Oh yeah, his voice hurts. That happened to me last year. I coughed and coughed and then I sounded like a frog. Do you sound like a frog when you talk?”
He shook his head.
“No? Well that’s good! Wouldn’t sound much like a cat if you croaked!” She reached up and petted Chat Noir’s head like a real cat.
He couldn’t help but purr.
“Oops, you found his soft spot.” Ladybug snickered.
Eva giggled and scratched him again. “What kind of ice cream did you get?”
“Mint chip, cherry chip, and cookies and creme.”
“Cookies and creme is my favorite! Did you like it?”
“I did! Though, I don’t think there’s any bad ice cream.”
“I do! My dad likes pistachio ice cream! Bleh!”
“Oh but pistachio is good!”
“No it’s not! It tastes like butt!”
Ladybug laughed. “Why don’t you ask your mom for some ice cream?”
“Oh hey yeah! That’s a great idea!”
The woman with Eva came closer. “Can I get a picture with you together?”
“Sure.”
“Mom! Get Chat in the picture too!”
Chat Noir leaned in, as she wrapped an arm around his shoulder.
A click, and Eva was scampering off of her lap. “It was nice seeing you Ladybug! I’m going to get ice cream now!”
Ladybug smiled at her. “I’m glad we could talk, Eva. That was nice. See you later.”
“Later!”
Ladybug let out a blissful sigh. The crowd was still surrounding them, waiting to be prompted.
“I’m kinda tired.” She announced. “What about you, kitty?”
Chat nodded and yawned.
“They’re going to go home now folks! Go on, get!” Alya shooed them away. “Sorry your outing was interrupted.”
“Mmm, actually, that wasn’t as bad as I was expecting.”
Adrien awoke from his nap feeling only a little groggy. He was down to one nap a day now, though it still usually lasted over an hour.
Marinette laid in his arms, her back pressed against his chest. It looked like she was awake as well, as she scrolled through her phone.
Adrien nuzzled closer, pressing a kiss behind her ear. “Whatcha reading?” He asked softly.
“Ladynoir FanFiction.”
He chuckled softly. “I thought you hated our FanFiction.”
“I did. But not so much anymore. Alya said a lot of authors on the blog are going back and editing their stories, so that our names and backgrounds are right. It’s kind of fun to see what people assume about us. The innocent things, like what our favorite Pokémon is and what flavors of ice cream we like.”
“Hmm.” Adrien hummed in her ear, savoring that perfect level of comfort. “What is your favorite Pokémon, my lady?”
“According to fics, it’s Ledyba.”
He scoffed.
“But I think I like Spheal. He’s a spherical seal. He’s a good boy.”
“He is a good boy.” Adrien said sleepily. “Wanna guess mine?”
“Is it Arcanine?”
“...yeah, it’s Arcanine.”
She giggled, turning her phone off and turning to face him. “I’m afraid you’re an open book to me.”
“Only to you.” He promised, kissing her swiftly.
There came a knock at the door.
“Adrien? Are you awake?” Gabriel’s voice came from the hall.
“He’s awake,” Marinette answered for him.
They adjusted themselves to be a little more presentable as Gabriel entered. He actually looked nervous, and excited? It was hard to tell on a man so stoic. He rubbed his hands together. “So, Adrien, we have a guest joining us for dinner tonight, and I thought you might want to see her first.” He beckoned the guest at the door.
Seeing Aunt Amilie, even after all this time, made his heart squeeze. She looked just like his mother, right down to the side ponytail.
Wait.
Was this some sort of joke? Amilie was in white, and her hair was tied on the other side, just the way his mother used to—
“Hi Hunny Bunny.” Her voice was so soft, so gentle. Tears gathered in her eyes as her hands raised up for him. “Look at how much you’ve grown!”
All of a sudden, he wasn’t in his bedroom. He was in that cold dark room, where they had been kept in crude cages. He was looking at the corpse with his mother’s face on it.
Then it morphed into everything wrong. Mouths for eyes, snakes for teeth, dripping fingers, as she just continued to smile at him. “It’s me, Adrien…I’m home.”
Adrien shook his head frantically, trying to shake the vision. But it wouldn’t leave. It was acid, wasn’t it? LSD? That’s what Dr. Boucher said was in his system. That hallucinations he had down in the catacombs would continue to haunt him. They were as unpredictable as they were vivid.
“Adrien honey?” Her voice was too sweet. It was wrong. Why was she here?
Adrien scrambled off the bed, placing himself opposite of the mattress from her, and he watched her with careful eyes.
“Adrien,” Gabriel tried. “It’s alright, your mother is home now. She’s back.”
Between the horrible visions and twisting thoughts, he had half a mind to take offense. She was back? She was fine all this time? Where was she? Why did she leave him alone? He couldn’t find any joy in the utter wrongness of it all. It made no sense, and it felt like some sick twisted joke.
His eyes wandered over to the windows on the other side of the room. His reflection was so small, so disgustingly thin and dirty, bloody, and pale. And her reflection…
It wasn’t his mother.
Gabriel nervously bit his thumb, waiting for Adrien’s reaction. So far, he just sat there, staring at her with impossibly wide eyes. Then he scrambled out of the sheets, his eyes never leaving her face. But there was no smile, no disbelief, no awe. Just shock and fear.
“Adrien, it’s alright. Your mother is home now. She’s back.”
Adrien quaked in his spot, shaking like a leaf, ready to burst. His listless eyes turned and caught sight of something in the window.
Gabriel never did know what his son saw, but whatever it was, it was horribly upsetting.
Terrible enough to rip that scream from his throat. Frightening enough make him flail his fists around, at him, at Marinette, and his own mother.
“Hunny bunny?” she asked once more, pleading with him.
It didn’t work. It only further exasperated Adrien, so that he shouted at her, like if he yelled loud enough she was disappear in a puff of smoke.
That’s when Gabriel conceded that his plan had failed epically. He grabbed Emilie’s wrist and pulled her from the room, as Adrien continued to scream after her.
Sabine caught her in a hug just outside the door. “It’s alright, dear.”
Emilie clung to her. “He doesn’t know me!”
“Of course he does,” Sabine soothed. “He’s just confused right now.”
Gabriel had made sure to close the door as they left, but it did nothing to suppress the noise from the room. The banging, the crashing, the clattering of books and trophies being flung off the shelves.
And Marinette’s rational voice trying to reach him.
“I hate her!” He yelled, like an arrow to Emilie’s heart. “She’s a liar! That’s all she’s ever been! I hate her! I hate her!”
Gabriel pressed a kiss to his wife’s head. “He doesn’t, he loves you so much.”
“Where did so go?! Why did she leave me alone with—with him?!” He voice broke off into ugly sobbing.
“Oh my baby boy,” Emilie wept. “My poor baby…”
“Well, I really hate to be the one that told you so…” Plagg spoke, phasing through the door.
“Don’t sound so smug.” Gabriel bit.
“I’m not. I swear I’m not.” His ears hung sadly. “But’s like I said. He doesn’t know where she’s been. To him, she ran away without a word, and she’s only coming back now? Because of what? The fact that he was tortured on screen?”
Emilie covered a mouth to hold back a sob.
“That’s not what happened, and you know it!” Gabriel yelled back.
“Of course I know! But he doesn’t! And you’re going to have to explain all of it to him.”
“What do you mean, ‘all of it’?”
Plagg looked at him levelly. “If you want Adrien to accept his mother, you’ve got to tell him about being Hawkmoth.”
Gabriel looked at the door. “Do you think he’s ready? Either of them are ready?” Plagg shrugged. “His world is rocked either way. I think you’ve got to decide which parent he needs more. Because the way I see it, he’ll reject the other. Maybe both of you.”
Emilie and Gabriel shared a very meaningful look.
Finally, Emilie hugged Sabine. “You’ll go comfort him, right? He needs a mom right now.”
“Of course dear.” Sabine opened the bedroom door slightly and crept inside. Emilie watched from the crack as she approached Marinette and Adrien, who were huddled together in a corner. It didn’t take any convincing for both of them to accept her embrace.
“I’ve missed so much.” Emilie whispered, teary-eyed.
Tom squeezed her shoulder. “It’s not your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong.”
Gabriel sighed. “And hopefully, you won’t have to miss anything more. I’ll tell them tomorrow. Even if…even if Adrien hates me, he deserves my honesty. And…I haven’t been very good to him since this whole mess started. You’ll be better for him, I know.”
“Gabe…”
“It’s alright. I suppose this is my punishment. But as long as Adrien gets everything he needs, then it’s all worth it.”

Connections 8
[The black shoreline almost held a warmth to it as the two children casually walked beneath the fragments of a broken and twisted road. Thick steel cables that protruded from the chunks of pavement held the bits almost perfectly for a temporary shelter from the rain. Devin swore he could hear a bell somewhere out at sea as a  buoy warned those beyond the bay of the rocks that closed the area off. A set of stairs to nowhere sat at the far edge of their enclosure where Acerola claimed a lighthouse had once stood.]
Devin:
Even all the way out there?
Acerola:
Yup! See, black beaches like this are said to be sacred to the Tapu. Poni Island has a beach just like this somewhere, but I can’t remember if all of the islands have one. Tapu Bulu is said to have been highly offended when they decided to build the Thrifty Megamart on the sacred grounds, and that’s what sent him into such a rage against the village.
Devin:
[looks between the road above them and the lighthouse base once more] They say that, but I’ve a feeling you think it’s something else?
Acerola:
Oh, I don’t doubt that was part of it. But why wait until the place was finished? The owner even went on to rebuild the one on Akala Island, so he wasn’t the one that angered the guardian. [nods to herself rather matter-of-factually] If anything, I think it was this was the final straw between Tapu Bulu and my dad. Everyone knew he’d been taking bigger and bigger steps to put personal profit before his duties as a Kahuna, so it was just a matter of time. Although, the Tapu so rarely show themselves, no one really thought anything was going to happen, just that my dad would probably get what’s coming to him when people got fed up. He told us a few times it was all for the team, but I don’t think even they believed him by the end of it. Once Tapu Bulu actually did show up, most of them fled... [she gives a little hum in the following silence as to debate whether to say what’s on her mind or not. Since everyone already knew all this, it had been a long time since she’d talked to anyone about things since then.] He doesn’t talk about it much, but I like to think it’s how he wanted to go.
Devin:
… “Doesn’t talk”?
Acerola:
Well, yeah. Part of the reason I became a ghost-trainer was to be closer to my family. It kind of happened naturally since I come out here all the time. [she smiles a bit at the building overheard and starts to lead the way again. They’d been dawdling long enough.] A lot of people worry about the trial-goers in a place that's falling apart, but I wouldn't hold it here if it wasn't safe. Besides, most of the ghosts that live there now came because it's dark and full of negative energy. It’s no more dangerous than those who go to graveyards as a tourist site.
Devin:
[He takes the straps of his backpack in hand and takes a deep breath as his gaze turns to the brightly colored poles signifying the trial entrance.] We’re talking about Ghost Pokemon, right? No vengeful spirits or dead bodies in there?
Acerola:
[Honestly starts giggling at him as she’s not sure what’s funnier; the thought he’d believe she’d allow children to go messing with dead bodies, or even if he did believe that, he seems only mildly concerned rather than terrified.] Pokemon, and this isn't my first trial. Really, you’re taking this a LOT better than most of the kids do. You’ll be fine. [She gives a little twirl before the gate and starts to hurry up the stairs. The building appeared to be mostly intact compared to any other ruins they’d see along the way, a few blown out windows, a cave in over the second entrance, a few Murkrow flying out of a hole in the roof as she gives a loud “hello” to the empty place.] Aaaand we’re here! So are you ready for this?
Devin:
[Seemed safe enough. New Pokemon, new place to explore, and as often as he went to the new Megamart, it didn’t look so scary. In fact, he was kind of curious now how different it used to look. Still hesitates a moment as he looks at the place, but finally turns to her with a grin] Y-yeah. Yeah, let’s do this.
=+=
[Devin gazed about the room, for it truly was all one large room, as he waited for his body to adjust. The dim lighting, the overwhelming smell of damp cardboard and rotting wood, the sounds of… something he didn’t recognize. Even Acerola had just told him the place was infested with ghost-types, he couldn’t shake the image of Murkrow and Rattata lurking in every shadowed corner. After taking in the stale air, it wasn’t so bad with the fresh scent of the rain leaking in and as his vision started to make sense of the larger objects around him, it was actually looking pretty cool. Eerie, but still cool.]
RotomDex:
[As much as Devin seemed to be enjoying the view, there was definitely a vibe to the place that left even the little ghost uneasy. Slips out of the bag to grab the boy’s attention.] Fine, fine, we’re in! This place izz still creepy, but let’zzz get this trial going! You need my help for this, right?
Devin:
[Grins at the little screen floating in front of his face] You heard the girl, you should enjoy this kind of place.
RotomDex:
Most ghost-types feed on energy… which my breed izz made of pure energy. We hide for a reazzon.
Devin:
Oh… well… you could still hide if you want to? I mean, I need the camera, but you can just disappear as soon as we get the ghosts’ attention, right?
Rotom Dex:
If you say so. [Before he could say much more, they both pause and turn at the sudden sound of a motor running nearby.] Do you hear that?
Devin:
[He not only heard it, but as he slowly tried to follow the noise, he spotted it too.] Yeah… the conveyor belt’s moving. [He watches it for a moment in pure fascination before glancing around the rest of the registers. Just that one, huh? It seemed obvious by the missing or dangling light fixtures that there was no power in the place, so anything moving like that could only mean one thing. Grins at his partner.] Looks like you’re up.
=+=
See me? SEE ME? SeEeEeMeEeEee? Seeeeee meeeee? seeeeemeeeeee? SeeeEEEeeee MeeeeEEEEeee?
[The farther Devin went into the building, the more the whisperings grew. It came softly, both inward and outward, the Voices echoing the soft chanting heard deep in the shadows. The Megamart had definitely gone from fascinating to disheartening as he stepped passed the debris and crates of stock long since neglected. Maybe it would have been better if Acerola told him the history after the trial as all he could imagine with the toys and overturned carts was how everything must have been promptly abandoned in the panic that day. The shelves still filled with cans and boxes of produce, though many had obviously been shifted and rattled by the playful residents. He’d even been noticing a pattern with the ghosts that decided to show themselves, giving him an idea about what Totem to look for. It wasn’t what he’d expected.]
Devin:
A Pikachu…? [After he stepped through the doors to the back room, he was met with an unusual display of obsession as the walls were covered with various pictures of Pikachu. Sure he’d spotted a few around the building, but as he’d already assumed the building likely had some kind of rodent infestation, the mouse Pokemon seemed no more out of place than a rat Pokemon would have. As he started to turn around, he froze and faced forward as soon as he spotted something near his feet. His voice cracks slightly as he tries to keep his voice low.] Rotom, I need you.
RotomDex:
[not looking at him as he seems to be spinning around the room in confusion.] No, I need you! For some reason the Poke Finder is going off on it’s own. I’m picking up signaturezzz of a strange life force directly behind you, but I can’t identify it. It’s totally messing with my gearzzz!
Devin:
[Just stares at the dex for a moment before reaching out to grab him by the handles. Rather flatly.] Could it possibly be the giant Mimikyu squealing right behind me? [He turns to point the camera at the Pokemon who suddenly seemed to bounce happily at being noticed.]
RotomDex:
[CLICK! But that doesn’t calm the little ghost at all as he stares at something beyond the door.] A-a-a-ctua-a-lly n-n-no…?
Devin:
[No? NO? That didn’t bode well at all, and he’s suddenly not sure what to think as the Mimikyu suddenly starts to flicker in and out of existence. The image of the Pikachu he’d been following smiled at him briefly before the washed out doll faced copy squealed at him almost ominously. Very sternly as he pulls up a Poke Ball.] Rotom, get in the bag!
???:
[While Devin couldn’t tell where the voice came from, it came loud and slick and quite clear humanly in a somehow still inhuman tone. The voice almost amused now bellowing what had come to haunt him for some time now.] SEEEEEE MEEEEE?!
[Everything in the trial had been a breeze. Everything in the trial had been expected. Devin couldn’t wrap his mind around what he was witnessing as he lost teammate after teammate in the struggle. Beaten in their sleep! It wouldn’t be the first time he’d lost, and normally he’d curse his luck while trying to keep positive, but this time… this time there was a rising panic in his throat as he could somehow feel the weight to the battle. For the first time in what seemed like a long time, he truly felt something at stake. But why? It should have been a simple test of strength like any other trial, but here as the Voices started screaming, the thought of losing filled him with dread. And yet as he felt his energy wane, and watched in terror as Queso, his last line of defense fell to the Gengar, his heart sank. Though the Mimikyu had long since disappeared, he heard that same voice from before the battle, laughing heartily as his world grew dim.]
=+=
[Devin had no idea how he made it out of the building, but rather than waking up back at the Pokemon Center, he found himself standing before the Thrifty Megamart as if nothing had happened. The rain had stopped, and Acerola came trotting up to him happily. It seemed so surreal, too surreal, to make any sense.]
Acerola:
Welcome back, Devin~!
Devin:
[Somewhat leery as he stares at her] … Back? Did you by chance heal my Pokemon after I passed out?
Acerola:
[Blinks at him curiously as she doesn’t understand.] No, you just came out here on your own. I thought maybe you’d already finished. Here, let me see your camera! That’ll tell us if you made it or not. [Smiles at him as she holds out her hands. While there certainly is a lot of… interesting… pictures, it doesn’t take her long to find the grainy image of what she’d been hoping for.] Ah, see? That one right there is the Totem Mimikyu I wanted you to find. It’s pretty hard to catch on film, so you two did great!
RotomDex:
Izz that because it takes control of the Poke Finder, because my picturezz should be clear. Zzzt! [pulls away from her now that she’s done looking] Devin wazz certain it wazz the totem messing with my system, but I sensed something else wazz in that back room.
Devin:
Yeah… [He gives himself a bit of a shake as whether from him being wet before or just trying to brush the whole ordeal off, he felt cold just thinking about it.] Not because of Totem Mimikyu, I mean, Mimikyu was tough, but I beat it just fine. Totem Gengar’s the one that really gave us trouble
Acerola:
[Now she’s all the more confused as she looks between them.] Boy you two must have been hit hard. I promise you there’s no Totem Gengar, just like there’s no back room. [starts giggling to herself] And the Poke Finder started to act on it’s own? Rotom, you bad, bad boy! Quit trying to scare us like that.
RotomDex:
[Slightly huffy] I would never-!
Devin:
It’s okay. [Gazes back at the building with a wary silence. He didn’t want to accuse her of lying to him, but he still couldn’t shake the feeling something was wrong. Oh, but they did need to return to the Aether House, didn’t they? Perhaps he could shrug his fears off on the fact he’d been stressed out all day.] We made it through either way, and that’s all that counts, right?
Acerola:
Yup! Which means… [she goes to hand him the crystal for Ghostium Z and shows him how to perform the dance] You know, it might not hurt to get a few ghost-types for your team. Although, I suppose you’d rather get you another bird. But first, we should probably head back to the Aether House to let Hau and Lillie know you aren’t dead. [Giggles again as she goes to take him by the hand, but suddenly… she stops]
Devin:
[Was kind of admiring his new crystal, so he didn’t see what she was doing. In fact, he started to chuckle to himself about laughing at how Lillie worries about everyone regardless, but the sudden silence causes him to look up as Acerola now stood wide-eyed in shock.] Are… Are you okay?
Acerola:
Brrr… [shivers to shake it off, but it seems the feeling remained] I just got chicken skin for some reason. Like a chill just went right through me….
[Without another word, she starts to wander off in something of a daze down the ramp to leave. Devin only watches as he, too, can’t seem to shake off the chill. He gives a glance at Rotom, before turning his sights back to the abandoned store. Something weird was definitely going on, and if even Acerola was affected by it, he had to see what was up before Hau came through. No back room, no Gengar. She was just messing with him, right? Even if she had counted the victory, he wasn’t done with Mimikyu.]
~~~~~~~~~~
Ah yes, quite a bit longer than usual, but I wanted to get the whole trial out in chapter as I worry I've been dragging out this particular arch too long. I have a slight confession to make, and it's that I've been in abandoned buildings on a number of occasions for -ahem- various reasons. For some reason when I got to this in my game, it just brought back and overwhelming sensory memory and this chapter was a bit of a struggle to keep from massive walls of purple prose (which I may have failed anyway.) Still, we spent an awful long time in this place, and it is going to important later. Also, I only used the one battle because when we actually won, it was over in 4 moves: 1 Crunch and three Beak Blasts, it was kind of a joke by comparison.
Previous Chapters: Part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
Just as we said good bye to 2019, 75 of The Rolling Stones outtakes and such were released for a minute on You tube.  The thinking seems to be that the tracks which could be found under 69RSTRAX were ‘released’ before public domain sets in.
The Golden Globes had some very deserving winners like Succession, Brian Cox, Laura Dern, Olivia Coleman, Patricia Arquette and Joaquin Phoenix. Tarantino was honored for his writing. I think the best dressed were numerous this year. There was hardly a wrong choice except for J Lo, Thomasin Mckenzie, Ryan Seacrest and Beyonce. I loved Joey King, Michelle Pfeifer, Kaitlin Deaver, Rose Leslie, Cate Blanchett, Ellen and Portia, Phoebe Waller- Bridge, Cynthia Erivo, Eddie Murphy and Paige Butcher, Brad and Leo, Zoe Kravitz, Helen Mirren, Annabelle Wallis, Lisa Lu, Bill Hader, Kerry Washington, Lisa Bonet, Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson, Patricia Arquette and Nicole Ansari-Cox.
*****
The SAG award also had some very well dressed which included Reese Witherspoon, Michelle Williams, Lupita Nyongo, Zoey Kravitz, Millie Bobbie Brown the Schitts Creek cast and Patricia Arquette. Christina Applegate was a bit too old school but she rocked it. The people on the SAG carpet were very chatty.  Parasite was named best cast. Other winners included Zellweger, Joaquin, Sam Rockwell, The Crown, Laura Dern and Dinklage. I have not seen The Morning Show but I was a bit shocked to see Jennifer Aniston win over Jody Comer, Helena Bonham Carter, Olivia Coleman or Elizabeth Moss. This was an award from her fellow actors so I suppose they wanted to send her some love. Her ex Brad Pitt won as well and went on and on about himself.
*****
The Grammys were pretty somber with a lot of ballads and the sadness of the death of Kobe Bryant that day. Aerosmith refused to let drummer Joey Kramer play with them and many found the performance a mess. A wonderful moment was Tanya Tucker and Brandi Carlile with their song that went on to win best country song. Tanya Tucker won best country album. Other winners included Billir Eilish, Lizzo, Elvis Costello and the imposters, Gary Clark Jr., Nipsey Hussle and John Legend, Willie Nelson, Michelle Obama and Dave Chappelle. I had no love for the fashion of Ariana Grande or Rosalia. My best dressed were Lizzo, Camila Cabello, Elle Mai, Jameela Jamill, Billy Porter, Bebe Rexha and Alessandria Ambrosia.
*****
Roman Polanski’s An Officer and a spy captured the most noms at France’s Cesar awards.
So there is a story that many Puerto Rican’s have had to move to the continental U.S. (mostly Fla.) because of the lack of help they have received from the current administration. Now, they can only vote in primaries in Puerto Rico but when they settle in other places they can actually VOTE for President. Lesson: Help Others!
*****
A Federal court just affirmed an injunction preventing the Trump administration from discharging air force members living with HIV. It is hard to keep up on all the despicable things this administration is doing.** Scary Clown 45 thinks he is responsible for low cancer rates. They have been steadily going down anyway. He wants a 4.9 bil cut in medical research, 897 mil cut in National cancer institute and a 763 mil cut for the CDC. Luckily it didn’t happen.
*****
Apparently before the impeachment trial began, Trump’s legal team gave thousands of dollars in contributions to Moscow Mitch, Lindsey Graham and Ted Cruz. What a sad time for this country. KEEP INVESTIGATING ANYWAY.
*****
A new immigrant prison just opened in Baldwin, Michigan, run by GEO, a for profit prison company.
Days alert: Loved Kristen’s call back to Rosemary’s baby again when talking about little Andy or Jenny. I can’t believe that in those same flashbacks we learned what a horrible Mother’s Day they had.  How could so much go wrong in 1 day? ** Hooray, More Tony and Anna!! ** The heartbreak of John and Marlena and the evil of the brainwashed really harkens back to the heyday of Days.** I wish that the baby mix up story would bring Tate and Theresa back to town! It is time for she and Brady to get back together!
*****
I am often not a fan of tradition (royal, religious or otherwise) but I admit it gave me great comfort to see the articles of impeachment walked carefully to the Senate chamber. We still have a little bit of order amidst all the chaos of the Trump era.
came across this list and thought it would be interesting to do for my ocs starting with Cel since I consider him my main whatever its called on here
A. Psychology
What of the Meyers-Briggs personality types they most fit into? INFP, ENFT, et cetera… ○ ISFJ-T
What alignment are they? Chaotic neutral, lawful evil, et cetera… ○ Lawful Good
Do they have any emotional or psychological conditions? Are they aware of it? Do they try to treat it? ○ The biggest one for Cel is PTSD, I think. I don’t think he’s really pieced together it’s PTSD yet so, as for treating it, no.
Are they a pessimist or an optimist? ○ He’s somewhere in between
Are they good at handling change in their life? ○ Yes and no. It really depends on what the ‘change’ is. But, usually, yes.
Does your OC tend to assume their interpretation of events and reality is correct, or do they question it? I.e., “I’m sure that’s what you said” versus “It’s possible I misheard you.” ○ Unless he knows it for a fact, he’ll question it.
Is your OC confident in their reactions to life in general, or do they get embarrassed or easily shamed for it? I.e., if something startles them, do they insist it WAS scary? When they cry, do they feel like they overreacted? ○ Cel is an overly emotional bundle of feelings and he’s aware of this. So he does get embarrassed whenever he gets scared/cries/etc.
Is your OC a martyr? ○ I don’t think so, no.
Does your OC make a lot of excuses? For themselves? Others? ○ Depends on the situation. Relating to the whole “being emotional” question above, he would make excuses if someone were to catch him. But otherwise, he’s pretty straight forward.
Does your OC compromise easily? Too easily? ○ To an extent, yes, though not necessarily “too easily”. He wants everyone to be happy but understands that won’t always be the case.
Does your OC put others’ needs before their own? ○ Without a doubt, yes.
Does your OC have any addictions? If so and problematic, have they admitted it to themselves? ○ Being a blood elf, I feel like this could be pointing to the whole magical addiction thing. I wouldn’t say Cel has been addicted to it but not necessarily avoiding it since I feel like outright avoiding it is impossible for belfs ? idk I have a hc where, since his powers all deal with the Light/Darkness part of lore, there was almost no reason to go down the path of arcane addiction like so many others had, save for recreational reasons. Hopefully that made sense lmao
Does your OC have any phobias? If so, where did they come from? ○ Scourge. Both because of the history scourge and blood elves have and especially death knights terrify him, save for the exception of Yasil.
Is your character empathetic? ○ Yes
Is your character observant? ○ Mostly, yes.
Does your OC have to go through their own trials to learn a lesson, or do they listen and learn from observation and lecture? I.e., does your OC listen when someone tries to tell them the importance of budgeting, or do they have to go experience what happens if you don’t budget first? ○ Yes but I feel like that goes with everyone, though.
What’s one of your OC’s proudest moments of themselves? ○ finally finishing his priestly studies was pretty nice. and being recognized as a fully fledged priest, essentially.
Do they get jealous easily? Do they feel bad if they do? ○ Not necessarily, no.
What instantly irritates them or puts them in a bad mood? ○ That’s actually really tough to do. Liars tend to set him off, though. Especially obvious liars.
Are they harsh on themselves? ○ Depending on the situation, yes.
Do they make excuses often? ○ see question 9
Is your OC intended to be found generally attractive? Unattractive? Average? Is there a reason why? ○ I didn’t really intend for him to be overly attractive or not when i first made him. However, I do see him falling more under the average spectrum.
Does your OC place much importance on their appearance? Do they feel confident in it? ○ Sort of. He does make an effort to properly take care of himself and while he mostly is confident in his appearance, there’s still moments where he can be a bit self conscious.
What are some of your OC’s biggest personal obstacles? This could be emotional, physical, social… Are they aware of it? Are they trying to overcome it? ○ other than the previously mentioned PTSD, his social anxiety plays a big role sometimes. He’s trying to get that under control but so far, there’s not much progress on that front.
B. Social
Do they believe you have to give respect to get it, or get respect to give it? ○ He treats everyone with respect at first. Its just up to their actions whether it stays or not.
Do they get frustrated when lines at places like pharmacies, check-outs, delis, banks, et cetera, are moving slowly? ○ I can’t think of a scenario in Warcraft where there would be a line lmao but, metaphorically, I think he’d just suck it up and deal with it.
Under what situations would they get angry at servers, staff, customer service, et cetera? ○ The only situation he’d get shitty like that is if they were rude.
Do they tip well? How easily can they be moved to not leave a tip? ○ He would leave what he could, yes. As for not leaving a tip, it’d be the same reason above.
Do they hold doors open for people? ○ Yes
Would your OC let someone ahead of them in line if your OC had a big cart and the person behind them had very few items? ○ Yes
How do they respond to babies crying in public? ○ They don’t really bug him, much.
Is your OC considered funny? Do they believe they’re funny? ○ He makes jokes rarely but when he does they’re usually clever puns that you gotta think about for a minute to appreciate them.
What kind of humor does your OC like the most? Slapstick, ironic, funny sounds, scare pranks, xD sO rAnDoM… ○ other than being the occasional punny type, his humor is pretty basic
Does your OC find any “bad” or “mean” humor funny? Do they wish they didn’t? ○ No, he doesn’t see any kind of humor in that kind.
Your OC is running late to meeting someone: Do they let the other person know? Do they lie about why they’re late? ○ He would be honest with them.
Your OC orders something to eat and gets their order done in a pretty wrong way, something they can’t just pick off or whatnot to correct, or something major is missing. What do they do? ○ He would politely ask them to fix it and if it happens a second time, he just deals with it quietly to himself.
Do they have a large or small group of friends? ○ It’s a rather small group, mostly consisting of Yasil, Nezza, and Mo’hir as his closest friends. He gets along with a lot of people but doesn’t necessarily consider someone a “friend” easily.
Do they have people they are genuinely honest with about themselves? ○ Nezza.
Does your OC enjoy social events, such as parties, clubs, et cetera..? ○ Absolutely not. Sometimes Nezza drags him to some social event but otherwise he’d rather stay home or do literally anything else.
Does your OC like to be the center of attention or more in the mix? ○ He likes to be in the back, away from the center of attention.
C. Morality
Does your OC have a moral code? If not, how do they base their actions? If so, where does it come from, and how seriously do they take it? ○ ah this is actually a bit of a tough one. Cel, being the overly good protagonist type, sees things with rationality and what makes the most sense based on who or what the situation is.
Would your OC feel bad if they acted against their morals? If not, would they find a way to excuse themselves for it? ○ Yes. Cel would feel guilty or like he’s lying to himself if he were to go against his morals.
Is it important for them to be with people (socially, intimately, whatever) whose major ideological tenets align with their own? ○ I don’t think it matters much to Cel so long as they’re not warmongering assholes.
Do they consider themselves superior or more important than anyone else? Lesser? ○ As ironic as it could be with the whole hierarchy that consists in Warcraft, he seems himself as equal to anybody else. He recognizes rankings play a huge role in beliefs all across azeroth and whos “lesser” or “greater” in that sense and frankly doesn’t much care for it.
Do your OC’s morals and rules of common decency go out the window when it comes to those they don’t like, or when it’s inconvenient? Aka, are their morals situational? ○ No. He takes his morals very seriously regardless of the situation.
What do they do when they see someone asking for money or food? If they ignore them, why? If they help, how so? ○ Cel would help in any way he could, either by giving them enough gold to buy a meal or giving them food directly.
Do they believe people change over time? If so, is it a natural process or does it take effort? ○ To an extent, yes. So long as there’s an obvious effort of wanting to change. Though whether thats for the best or not depends on the person themself.
Is your OC more practical or ideal morally? I.e., do they hold people to high expectations of behavior even if it’s not realistic for the situation, or do they have a more realistic approach and adapt their morality to be more practical? ○ He leans towards being more realistic and practical.
D. Religion and Life and Death
How religious is your OC? What do they practice, if anything? If they don’t associate with any religion, what do they think of religion in general? ○ He takes his devotion to the Light very seriously, despite everything that’s happened.
Do they believe in an afterlife? ○ Yes.
How comfortable are they with the idea of death? ○ It makes him very uncomfortable.
Would they like to be immortal? Why, why not? If they are immortal, would they rather not be? ○ No. He wouldn’t be able to deal with seeing everyone (and, by extent, everything) he’s ever loved age and die without him.
Do they believe in ghosts? If not, why? If so, do they think they’re magical/tie into their religion, or are they scientifically plausible? ○ Ghosts essentially exist in the Warcraft universe so it’d be pretty odd for him to not believe in them, I think.
E. Education and Intelligence
Would you say that your OC is intelligent? In what ways? Would your OC agree? ○ He is, yes, because of his critical and quick thinking abilities. And he’s full of useless knowledge so that’s pretty cool too. Personally, Cel sees himself as average.
Which of the nine types of intelligence is your OC strongest in? Weakest? (Linguistic, existential, naturalist, et cetera) ○ Strongest in linguistic, weakest in Interpersonal
How many languages do they speak? ○ Not counting Thalassian, he’s fluent in both Orcish and common and is currently learning Zandali.
Did they enjoy school if they went to it? ○ Yes
What’s their highest education level? Do they want to continue their education? ○ Seeing as how he did, eventually, become a fully fledged priest, he has completed his studies leading up to it. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t more to learn.
Do they enjoy learning? Do they actively seek out sources of self-education? ○ Yes and yes.
Are they a good note-taker? Are they a good test-taker? Do exams make them nervous? ○ Yes to all of those as well.
F. Domestic Habits, Work, and Hobbies
What sort of home do they live in now, if at all? How did they end up there? ○ He currently lives with Nezza in a little corner of Orgrimmar, as its where Nezza was born and raised and is most comfortable. They actually haven’t been living together for long but so far they’ve loved every minute of it.
What’s their ideal home look like? Where is it? ○ His ideal home is anywhere where Nezza is. So, continuing the previous answer, he’s achieved his dream home.
Could they ever live in a “tiny home”? ○ I wouldn’t say their current home is particularly huge or small, just enough for a 5′5″ blood elf and an 8ft troll to live comfortably. That being said, I don’t think they could do a tiny house, no.
How clean are they overall with home upkeep? ○ Cel is a clean freak so everything has to be spotless. Well, as spotless as one could get their home with an easily excitable druid under the roof.
How handy are they? Can they fix appliances, cars, cabinets, et cetera? ○ he could do basic repairs if needed but anything else is left to Nezza.
How much do they work? What do they do? Do they enjoy it? ○ despite living in orgrimmar, his ‘job’ is with the Netherlight Temple, assisting with operations dealing with the Legion as best he can.
What’s their “dream career” or job situation? ○ His dream, ever since he was little, was to be some great healer. Being forced to be a shadow priest kind of put a damper on that, though.
How often are they home? ○ He usually returns from the temple in the mid afternoon and occasionally, on the rare chance the tempe doesnt need help, he’ll take a day off.
Are they homebodies and enjoy being home? ○Yes
Do they engage in any of the arts? How good do you intend them to be? Would they agree they are? ○ Not really, no. He does admire those who are, though.
What are some of their favorite things to do for recreation? How did they get into it? What part of it do they like the most? ○ His recreational activities are pretty basic. He tries to spend as much time as he can with Nezza and that usually consists of a really cheesy date somewhere.
Would they enjoy a theme park? ○ The Darkmoon faire is essentially a theme park, right? He enjoys that, yes.
G. Family and Growing Up
Is your OC close to their family? ○ To some members, yes. Mostly to his brother and mother.
Who makes up your OC’s family, at least the more important members to them? ○ His mother and brother are the ones that have had the most impact in his lives. His mothers name is Galidia and his brothers name is Thalaron. His father wasn’t really in the picture much growing up before he died, grandparents long since dead, and he never met cousins/etc.
Does your OC find their family supportive? If not, what would be an example why not? ○ Yes and no, sort of. His family affiliates heavily with the Blood Knights so everyone, including his parents, expected him to become a paladin and follow this seemingly family tradition. When he first announced he wanted to be a priest, his family was disapproving at first. However, once they realized there was no changing Cel’s mind they kind of gave up and let him do as he wanted. Galidia still wishes her son would change his mind and become a Blood Knight but Thalaron seems to be the most understanding and supportive in his brothers choices.
What kind of childhood did your OC have? ○ He had a very strict and very controlling childhood. Galidia sheltered her sons more than whats healthy, which could tie into Cel’s lacking of social skills.
Did they go through any typical phases growing up? ○ Not really, no. Thalaron went though that rebellious phase and tried to drag Cel into it to but he couldn’t bring himself to rebel against his mother, not until he wanted to be a priest anyways.
Do they have any favorite childhood memories? ○ There was once where Thalaron and Celendis snuck out of the house in the middle of the night to meet some childhood friends. They ended up getting lost in the woods and didn’t manage to find their ways back home until the next afternoon. To say all the parents’ involved were worried is an understatement. Galidia was furious but it was still a lot of fun to them.
Do they have any childhood memories they’d rather forget or be less affected by? ○ On more than one occassion, Galidia was known to get physically abusive with her kids. I think both Cel and Thalaron could forget those days.
H. Romance and Intimacy
What is your OC’s orientation, romantic and/or sexual? Has it ever been a source of stress for them? Have they always been pretty sure of their orientation? ○ Cel has known his sexuality ever since he first learned what sexual attraction was. He’s never been attracted to women and, initially, didn’t know how to react about discovering he was gay. He’s pretty reluctant to tell others his sexuality, especially given the stigma with gay people in his culture, because of it as well.
Is your OC a thoughtful partner, in whatever aspect of that you want to cover? ○ He is, yes. He’s always taking into account Nezza’s actions and thoughts and does whatever he can to make his boyfriend happy.
Does your OC believe there’s only one ideal partner (or multiple ideal if not monogamous) for everyone, or that there are many people who could be right? ○ He’s never really thought about it like that much. Other peoples relationships are their own business, so long as they’re happy.
Does your OC believe in love in first sight? ○ Not really no. He’d rather get to know someone first.
Does your OC believe in marriage (or their culture’s equivalent)? ○ Yes.
Has your OC ever cheated on anyone or been cheated on? ○ He’s never cheated, no. And, yes, he has been cheated on. Not by Nezza but by his first boyfriend.
What do they look for in partners? (Emotionally, mentally, physically..) ○ Someone that loves him unconditionally, basically. Who loves him despite his flaws and learns and grows with him.
What’s your OC’s idea of a perfect date? ○ As far as dates go, he’s not really picky. His previous relationships were pretty lackluster as far as dates go so he doesn’t really have many expectations with them. That being said, Nezza always going all out with every date they go on always means its gonna be amazing and special in some way, shape, or form.
What are some things that your OC finds to be an instant turn-off in potential partners? ○ Brutishness, usually. He loves a partner with a soft side.
I. Food
What are their favorite kinds of flavors– Sweet, salty, sour, spicy, creamy, et cetera? ○ Surprisingly, maybe, he loves spicy foods. He also has a lowkey sweet tooth.
Do they have any eating requirements or preferences? Allergies, vegetarian, organic-only, religious restrictions… ○ Not really, no.
Are they vegan/vegetarian (if their overall culture/species generally aren’t)? If so, why? Do they think animal products are wrong in all circumstances? ○ No. Nezza is actually a vegetarian so he finds himself eating veggies more than anything. But otherwise, he’s not.
How often do they cook? Do they order out a lot? ○ He always makes a home cooked meal every night. He prefers it over anything. Though, occasionally, they will go out somewhere to eat.
Are they a good cook? ○ Yes, Galidia taught both of her sons how to cook extremely well so they wouldn’t have to rely on other people.
Could they eat the same thing they enjoy over and over and not get bored of it quickly? ○ Yes, absolutely. He could live on Firecracker Salmon if he were able to.
J. Politics, Current Events, Environmental Aspects
Where does your OC stand most politically? What would they align with most? ○ While he thinks the constant battling between alliance and horde is pointless and they should try to find some semblance of peace, he will always proudly stand behind the Horde.
How politically aware are they? ○ Cel tries to keep as up to date with recent happenings as much as possible.
How politically active are they? ○ Not much, only when it’s needed.
Is your OC the sort to fall for fake news? If not, do they ignore it or make a point to clarify that it’s wrong? ○ He’s always critical of new news until more facts are presented to back it up.
Are they or would they protest for a cause they’re passionate about? ○ Yes, if needed.
How do they react to people whose political viewpoints are very opposite of theirs? ○ Doesn’t bug him much.
K. For the Writer/Owner
How have your characters changed since you created them? ○ Cel’s only existed for I believe about a month since posting this? So he hasn’t changed much since then so far.
What do you consider the biggest themes in your character, if any? soft crybaby, is that a theme? it is now
Did you create the character to be like yourself, did they end up being like yourself, or are they very different from you? ○ I didn’t intend for him to be but it seems we’re both giant emotional balls of feelings. That’s purely coincidental, I swear.
Would you hang out with your OC if you could? ○ Absolutely, yes.
Which OC do you think is the most decent morally or behaviorally?  AKA, which is supposed to a “good guy”? ○ Cel is, out of all the ones on this blog right now.
Which OC do you think is the worst morally or behaviorally? AKA, which is supposed to be a “bad guy”? ○ It’s hard to say, really, since they’re all meant to be protagonists in their own ways. But, moral wise, I’d probably say Yasil would be the ‘bad guy’
Which OC do you think is the most attractive? ○ they all are in their own ways donT MAKE ME CHOOSE ONE
What’s the longest you’ve had an OC for? ○ Taking into account *all* of my ocs, probably 7 years if not longer.
How did you come up with your OC? ○ Making a belf priest ingame then got attached to him pretty much.
