I few notes about these tags! I feel like I didn't express myself correctly in earlier posts

I am, too, excited about these new adaptations. It's been years we don't have an adaptation like this, that isn't independent of purely fanfiction (not saying this in a derogaroty way!), and the fact that two new adaptations are being developed in high budget sets makes me hopeful that we'll see a reborn in the POTO media I want POTO relevant again, new fans, new media, new fanfiction and art and fanart, everything. But like. I'm also worried. I'm scared of possible flops, failures or straight up cancellation. We had enough terrible POTO media, I really want them to be careful. I want to watch a show where I know the creators care about what they're doing. I want them to know the fans, to listen to us and make something they know we'll love. (Of course, this can be argued to any other media, not just POTO)

And about the musical being the "Twilightification of the novel" uuuuh idk exactly how to feel about this. On one hand, yeah, it's a musical, its tone is overall different from the novel but not DRASTICALLY different. Personally I really don't want POTO to be portrayed as a story by teenagers in High School, that's all. I want POTO to remain being a mature story with mature themes, YA just... isn't the ideal public to me. BUT, I agree that anti-Twilight hate is so annoying and pointless, and the musical recieves the same bad faith criticism that medias like Twilight recieve so yeah ("don't romanctize an already romancticized melodrama!! bad toxic problematic😭"). I don't think an adaptation being inspired by Twilight is iherently a bad thing.

I would love to see a POTO adaptation made by Robert Eggers just like how he did with Nosferatu, for example. I'm expecting to see Erik being Leroux-accurate deformed, morally ambiguous, pathetic crazy wet old man. But I'm pretty sure this isn't what we're getting. If anything, I AM excited and happy that POTO is recieving attention again and I'll try to not be biased.

We're getting two new contemporary Phantom of the Opera film adaptations being made this year???!

hi this is for Path's biggest fan

actually debated on posting this bc of the short time gap but i rlly like the redesign I've done and i hope u do too

i also redrew in its own canvas the logo i forgot to put into the actual ref sheet. This is probably for tobbling the paths on but i originally wanted to put it on Path's boots

Paths lore is something something they're a retired parkour master that picked up skating as their new hobby

They retiried bc they maaaaay have fallen the wrong way from a super high place so they're lowkey traumatized and wanted to still be athletic but at ground level

I might do another redesifn specifically just for the head area to maybe give em a new face, a head accesory

maybe put in the scar i was thinking of them having from the accident on their mouth under a cool mask

as for personality, I think Paths would be tad reserved, maybe narcissistic, they think of themself as cool and likes cool people, but they wouldn't try to come off as blatantly rude or arrogant.. but you do feel like they think they're better than you

Despite that Paths actually has decent sportsnanship - they respect people who're cool (but dont care about ppl otherwise).

They're not a sore loser but they are a sore winner (they'd definitely dance over ur dead defeated body.

Originally Paths had a more performative design inspired off the Flipside brothers

i wanted to redo them by getting inspired from how you get Paths at the end of obbies

but every time i try to design them they just ended up looking like a ripoff coil 😭 bc turns out the designer of Coil definitely used the same inspiration

ok, do not feel at all obliged to read all of this because i am aware its a lot, but this is kinda just how my brain works 😭

this is just my rambling about them as a ship

PETIMKON STUFF:

Redsuperspider? Petimkon?

Peter and Kon both have super strength!

I feel like they both have issues with being scared that they’re going to hurt the people they love if they accidentally use too much of their strength, but when they’re together they don’t have to hold back as much.

They can give each other more substantial hugs. Although this also goes for everyone else they know who has super strength (Casssie, Clark, Jon, Kara etc. for Kon).

However, Peter does not have invulnerability like Kon. This means that where Peter can pretty much use his full strength with Kon, and doesn’t have to worry about hurting him at all, Kon still has to be careful with Peter. However², I don’t think this would be much of a problem, as Kon has lots of other people in his life (again, Casssie, Clark, Jon, Kara etc.), who he already has this dynamic with and doesn’t have to be careful with.

I think it would just be a very important thing for Peter specifically to have in a relationship, as there’s not really anyone in his universe that he has this with, and it would be a huge relief to have someone he doesn’t have to hold back with. All his other relationships, whilst very fulfilling and important to him, have been with people who he always had to be careful with (MJ, Tim, Ned, May, Tony).

The fact that Kon is invulnerable would be such a huge relief for Peter. He has such a big fear of the people around him getting hurt because of him, but Kon? He’s stronger than Peter in the way that only people like Thor or Hulk are in Peter’s universe. He’s not breakable. 

I cannot emphasize enough how much weight this would take off of his shoulders. And like, obviously he knows that Kon can still get hurt (he’s literally died before), but it’s so much less likely, and it’s very unlikely that it would happen because of Peter.

Peter and Kon are both self sacrificial idiots.

This one is self explanatory really. Anyone who knows the bare minimum about either of these characters could draw this parallel. It’s a pretty much universal trait in all superheroes, but I think they have a very similar brand of it.

They’re all huge nerds who like to quip and tell dumb jokes.

I think the ‘star wars fan vs star trek fan’ thing would be a hilarious dynamic. A little bit of minor conflict over something that doesn’t actually matter, to me, feels like a very healthy thing to have in a relationship. They agree on the things that really matter, but they can disagree on the small things.

Peter and Kon both love Tim.

They’d definitely bond over being stupid for this boy, and just rant at each other about how pretty and smart and perfect he is (they do this in front of him. Tim has a love-hate relationship with it). 

At first they thought it would be difficult, but they soon realised that having another person who loves your boyfriend just like you do is brilliant, and they didn’t get even a little bit jealous over it, they just found it adorable and relatable. 

Peter and Kon both have a history with SA/grooming.

I don’t want to go too deep into this here because it’s a heavy subject, but basically:

Knockout and Tana, and Skip.

Peter and Tim are the first to get together when Tim ends up in Peter's universe. They have a few sex-related issues.

Peter is ace and Tim has a pretty high sex drive.

Peter isn’t sex-repulsed, and is pretty sex-positive, but he doesn’t want to do it as much as Tim does.

This causes a few issues. Tim obviously wants to accommodate Peter and absolutely doesn’t want him to do anything that he isn’t comfortable with, and is very understanding when Peter isn’t up for it, but he also gets quite frustrated, because sex is something that’s important to him in a relationship, and he’s not getting what he needs. Because of this, Peter feels really guilty for not providing what Tim needs in the relationship. He can see that Tim isn’t happy with that side of things.

They’re both trying really hard to create a balance that works for both of them, because they’re really happy with pretty much every other aspect of the relationship, and they fit together really well. But it’s still causing problems and creating a rift between them.

I feel like there would be at least one instance where Peter fakes being into it when he’s really not just to make Tim happy, and then Tim realises and freaks out. 

It’s just like there’s a missing piece of the relationship… 

And then when they go back to Tim’s universe, Tim freaks out because he realises he still has feelings for Kon. And then when they eventually all get together, they realise that Kon was that missing piece. He slots in so perfectly, filling that need that Tim has, and meaning that Tim can get what he needs without Peter having to force himself to do anything he’s uncomfortable with.

Everyone ends up happy :)

Family!!

Tony and Pepper would get along absolutely amazingly with Tim.

I’m just imagining Pepper and Tim talking for hours about being CEO’s and getting along way too well and it terrifies Tony and Peter.

Kon would be so good with Morgan, and she’d love him. He’d be such a fun brother in law. He can FLY!!! Imagine how much fun that would be for a five year old.

May would fucking love Kon.

Peter is obviously Bruce’s ideal son in law. Only problem is that Tim won’t let him adopt him because “dude we’re dating you can’t make him my brother that’d be so weird.” Or even

Bruce: “I’m going to adopt Peter.” 

Tim: “NO YOU CAN'T DO THAT!”

Bruce, and everyone else: “Why not?”

Tim: “Umm, well, you see…” (either they don’t know he’s crushing on Peter yet, or they’re dating secretly).

Clark and Lois would also adore Peter. Maybe Lois is who looks at Peter’s photography skills and goes “you should do that for a living. Like, as a journalist.” And then she mentours him in Journalism and he finds that he actually really loves it, especially the photography aspect.

Ma Kent would also absolutely love Peter.

Peter and Jon would absolutely team up against Kon. Poor Kon, betrayed by his own boyfriend in favour of his baby brother.

Tim and Peter absolutely bond over their shared passion for photography.

Especially when they realise that they both photograph vigilantes (even if Tim’s is more stalking…).

Tim and Peter are both geniuses, but in different areas. Their genius does overlap a lot, but mostly Tim is more of a detective, and Peter is more of a scientist.

nightmare: "ink. ah, that girl is an enigma, truly. somedays she supports me on my path to world domination, and other days she just laughs at me and says as if it were a fact that i would never achieve it! ugh... but despite my slight grievances, she's dream's friend, and i've grown fond of her. quite often, without me even requesting, she gifts me paintings. now, they may seem normal at first, but recently i've discovered a pattern with them. as if ink had peered into the mind of god and depicted it visually, the paintings assist me in handling dream appropriately. i must say, she's skilled as well..."

dream: "ah, swap! she's one of my dearest friends, i truly care for her deeply. out of sheer coincidence it seems, that she, ink, and i were chosen to be the star students of the school, but surprisingly it works out well... swap's truly a delight. she's a great motivator, and she's saved me from a few situations that would've ended up terribly had she not been there, hehe."

nightmare: "sometimes the world hates me. ah- well, what i meant was, the path of fate has me set on a predetermined path of struggle! and yet, when even i, the queen of negativity, could not stop my kin from slipping on a ridiculously placed banana peel and almost breaking her neck, swap was her knight in shining armor and caught her. needless to say, just as fate despises my bloodline, fate also has angels sent down from heaven. i do suppose swap is one of those, bless her soul."

killer: "heh, swap?? that girl's a riot! couple years ago i tried convincing her to show me some of those sick moves she learned at kickboxing, or karate, taekwondo, whatever... she broke my wrist, haha! but then i pulled a knife on her and then we both got in trouble. hah, good times, good times. no, i didn't stab her?! in fact, she's very good friends with mr. mew and the grumpen, thank you very much! a friend of my kitties is a friend of mine!"

It was a nice, cool and collected October afternoon.

The air smelled like October…the tree’s looked like October…

…And everything just felt…October-ish in a way; if that makes any sense…

It was the end of the school day; and just like any intelligent and studious student…you would assume doing your homework as soon as you got home would be the best bet, right?

Well…not for Linus Van Pelt and Charlie Brown. 

The two best friends have been playing video games for the past…two hours; give or take? 

And their homework would most likely not be finished until…probably…midnight…

…But the two had priorities. Very good ones in fact!

And one of the main priorities they had as of right now was finishing their video game. 

(A wonderful priority if you ask me).

And to make it even better, Charlie was surprisingly…winning! 

Which…was something in his life that didn’t happen…much, if, not at all. 

Linus looked at the small TV screen in slight disbelief as his best friend managed to score yet another point in Mario Kart.

The brunette chuckled at the action, a mix of surprise and amusement in his voice, “Wow…I didn't know you were such a video game expert, Char. You’re destroying me, here.”

Charlie giggled, “I guess I am, aren’t I?”

The younger boy shook his head, feigning an offended tone, “You 'guess', huh?” The red cladded preteen snickered as he put the controller to the side, “Don’t let it get to your head. You're supposed to be letting me win, after all."

“You wouldn’t win even if I let you.” The other chuckled. 

“Wha— exCUSE me?!” Linus gasped dramatically. 

“You’re excused...” Charlie said cheekily as the TV roared with champion music, displaying the results of the leader board as the yellow cladded preteen was shown as the winner. 

“…Looks like I win.” The older grinned.

“That’s not faaaaair!!!” The younger one whined, pointing his finger accusingly at his best friend, “You cheated!”

Charlie Brown let out a small huff of laughter, raising an amused brow as he crossed his arms, “Hohow dihid I cheat? Yohou watched me plahay!” 

The red cladded preteen rolled his eyes, looking away from his friend as he sulked, “Whatever...”

Charlie rested his head on his friend’s shoulder whilst teasingly poking his cheek, “It’s okay to lose, Li. We all have to at some point.”

“You lose all the time in…like…w-well, everything!” The shorter teen retorted.

“But I’m not losing right now, am I?” The honey brown eyed preteen grinned smugly, going out to poke the other’s cheek one more time but was stopped as Linus grabbed his wrists, pinning his arms above his head with one hand as he sat on his friend’s thighs.

Charlie’s eyes widened, kicking his legs underneath Linus as he tried to get out of the hold.

…Good…grief.

The one in red used his free hand to tickle the other’s side, dancing his fingers diligently and effortlessly which caused Charlie to absolutely shriek, shaking his head as he stomped his feet on the carpeted floor. 

Linus chuckled, enjoying the lightheartedness of the moment and the adorable sound of his friend’s shriek as he tickled his sides.

The brown eyed preteen was barely even tickling him!

…In fact, Linus was barely getting started.

The younger smiled slyly, “Huh...who would’ve known? The great video game champion is ticklish…”

“N-Nohohohoh!!” The other kid giggled helplessly. 

“'No?' You seem pretty ticklish to me, Char.“ The brunette haired preteen mused. 

“I-Ihihi’m nahahat!” The older cried. 

Linus rolled his eyes fondly as he doubled down on the tickling, his grin stretching wider. He released his friend’s wrists and he pinched his hips, chuckling at the giggly denial the other was sputtering through his laughs.

I mean, come on now. Linus knew Charlie Brown since…kindergarten. 

…The two were only in fifth grade…but still! His point still boldly stands!!!

“Oho, you're not, huh? Then how come you're giggling and squirming around so much?“

“I-Ihihi’m nahahat!” The honey brown eyed kid desperately denied which Linus to only laughed out loud in result, his fingers still dancing over his best friend’s sides. 

He looked at the taller boy with mock seriousness, still smiling widely as the other wriggled and writhed. 

“Oho really? Because your giggling is telling me a veeeeery different story~!” The red cladded preteen smiled smugly as he started to knead the other’s hips, “Just say you’re ticklish…'cuz I know you know you are…no matter how much you deny it. 

Charlie Brown just snorted, hugging his middles and kicking his legs slightly as Linus continued with his tickling onslaught, making sure to leave the other boy in utter stitches.

“Cohome on, Char! Admit it! Just say, your ticklish and this can aaaaaall be over~! You know you want to~!” The hazel eyed teen said as he tickled his best friend’s stomach swiftly.

And in result, the yellow cladded preteen genuinely screamed in a result to the new sensation on his tummy, grabbing the other’s wrists but not quite pushing them away. 

Linus just grinned, enjoying the silliness of the situation, “Pff— how about now, Char~? Are you still 'not ticklish~?'” He teased as he continued to tickle the taller oh-so casually, “Y'know…the more you deny it, the more I'm tempted to keep going~!” 

The honey brown eyed preteen’s whole face turned to a bright red as he tugged on his best friend’s hands, “NAHAHAHAH— snrk LIHINUHUS!!”

The younger boy found his best friend’s giggling both adorable yet hilarious at the same time; continuing to tickle the other on his stomach and not showing the slightest sign of stopping anytime soon.

“But all you have to do is admit it, Char-Char~! Just say you’re soooo ticklish and the tickling will stop!” The hazel eyed preteen casually said.

The slightly taller kid snorted, flapping his hands on his friend’s arms. Linus glanced at his best friend's happy stims and smiled, pausing his tickling torment for juuuuust a moment.

“Your happy stimming is so. freaking. cute!” The younger gushed, “But~! We're not done here; not until you say those two magic words..." He said as he resumed the tummy tickling with a smirk.

Charlie snorted, “LIHI LIHIHI!! PLEHEHEASE!!!”

“Awe…is that a 'please' I hear? Sounds like someone's starting to give in…”

“I’M TICKLISH!! IHIHIHI’M TIHICKLIHISH!!!” The yellow cladded preteen cackled despretley 

“Those aren’t the magic words, Charlie Brooown~!” Linus grinned evilly, leaning down and blowing a raspberry on his best friend’s stomach. 

The older let out an embarrisngly loud squeal at the sensation on his said stomach, covering his face with his arms as he laughed hysterically. 

“Oho gosh…I forgot how sensitive your tummy is...” Linus giggled in between breaths.

“IHIHITS SNRK NAHAHAT!!” The other denied.

“It’s not? Are you sure? 'Cuz this seems like a goldmine for your giggles, Charlie..” The younger said matter-of-factly as he lightly scribbled his nails around the elder’s bellybutton as he raspberried his sides. 

The elder in question howled, arching his back and cackling madly, “GAHAHASH NOHOH! HIC! WHYHYHY THAHAHAT?!”

“Because you loooove it~!”

“PLEHEASE!! LIHIHI NOHOHAH— SNRK! STAHAHAP!!!”

“But this cute little giggle spot is so yummy, Char! I just need to...” And with that, Linus blew the most freaking ticklish raspberry Charlie Brown’s ever felt directly on his bellybutton. 

Happy tears ran down the older’s face, lying limp on the carpet as he laughed like The Joker, “LINUS IHI’M SOSOHO TICKLISH!!! IHI’M TICKLISH JUHUHUST PLEEHEHEASE!!!”

The red cladded preteen stopped immediatley, getting off and lying down next his best friend as his best friend in question tried to catch his breath. 

“Ihihi’m gohohonna gehehet yohou back…”

“I’m sure you will, Char.” Linus snickered, sitting back against the couch as he grabbed his and Charlie’s playstations and waving them around teasingly, “Best out of three?”

“Oho you’re ohon.” The older grinned, snatching back the gaming device as they placed video games throughout the night.

VERY old beef, the peter Gabriel version of the David bowie song heroes would NEVER be played during a romantic moment because it's an intentionally depressing version of a happy song alluding to a happy ending of a depressing situation. Mike sees Will's body be pulled out of a lake and the song starts alluding to him being alive, why would they say they can be heroes for one day? They lost. They can't be heroes bc hes dead. But he's not. They play it when moving out of the Byers house right after they "put hopper to rest" . They can't be heroes bc hes dead. Bc Mike is losing his best friend forever right after figuring out he's qu- but he's alive. But they're reunited. It's a depressing sheet laying over the happy ending. If you want them playing heroes and actually kissing when they swore it would fall. It NEEDS to be David Bowie, their happy ending. Everyone's.
