I have a theory about The Owl House (SPOILERS)
(Of course my first post will be about The Owl House)
I base this theory on the last episode "For the future" ep02 season03, so if you didn't watched it, please scroll :)
In this episode, we didn't see Owlbert and Lilith's palisman even though Eda and Lilith aren't puppets... That leads me to a question : where are they? So what if the Bat queen rescued, protect and take care of the palismen who lost their owners, because they have been turned into toys?
And what if they will form a little army ?
It may be unlikely for the Bat queen, but hey, it's just a theory. A Owl House theory.

Sounds like the worst feeling, highly rude of Selena to be sick there (hope she's okay though), on less icky kitty related thoughts... Human realm visit, they go to Camila's clinic (idk maybe something happens requiring Camila's and Luz goes with her IDK) and just, high key disney princess vibes with the lil guys back there.
I just can't really see Belos letting Luz have much time with animals (that lil snorse-riding au thoughts thing from a while back) or pets esp with how things with palismen were, but just the idea of Luz being sweet with them (Luz already has low key disney princess vibes in canon whenever there's a lil critter about) and them being oh so gentle and sweet with her, it compels me.
Maybe as well a usually hissy, angi rescue cat or two being unnaturally nice and gentle around her to be an on the nose parallel. (also I have law school exams on monday and I need to distract myself from thinking about them.)
selena's okay! we were trying to slowly switch her to a new dry food but it's been upsetting her tummy every few days so we'll probably experiment with an all-wet diet instead.
and yes. YESSS.
luz does that thing where you sit unobtrusively on the floor in the corner of a room for a while and let the cats sniff you & camila has a moment of being like MIJA WAIT.... PIXIE THE DEMON KITTY'S GABAPENTIN IS WEARING OFF..... YOU WILL BE SHREDDED..... but pixie the demon kitty has decided luz is like. fine, actually.
also that reminds me. one of the shitpost thoughts i had about hunter & camila discussing doctors was hunter being like "could luz see your other daughter's doctor, then?? whoever they are?? since you trust them already??" and camila having to dodge "....um. i.... am her pediatrician, actually. because. she is a lizard."
#is it a clear conflict of interest to be your daughter's pediatrician. absolutely#do exceptions need to be made when your daughter is a mythical creature from another dimension#perhaps.#replies#toh#princess luz au#luz noceda#camila noceda#vee noceda

post WaD headcanon time: Hunter probably didn’t carve Waffles as she was, per se. like, he still had so much baggage about “getting replaced” from his GG days that he probs felt if he carved another bird it’d be kinda like replacing Flapjack and how terrible would he feel abt it
i’m thinking he’s some time into his apprenticeship under Dell and has already gotten a hang at carving palismen for other folks and he is really good at it and FEELS good about it, but the thought of making one for himself kinda still makes his stomach turn. but bit by bit, he feels he’s able to move on and thinks about getting one for himself, but there’s still so much doubt and guilt that he’s not sure what to carve
it’s at this point that Luz suggests he carve an egg like she did with Stringbean, and that way he can sort of let the palisman decide for themselves what they want to be, and also give Hunter some time to reflect about it and to grieve and talk to them about his doubts and fears, but also his hopes and wishes
i think it would take much longer for his palisman egg to hatch than Luz’s did, but it was okay, they were giving each other time to get to know each other, even without actually meeting in person
i’m imagining his surprise when another bird breaks out of that egg, but it’s alright, because she decided what she’d be and look like, and she chose to be with him at the right moment and accept everything about all he’s ever told her while she was still in that egg, and he’s so happy and grateful for this beautiful little blue bird 🥹
#i’ve had this in my drafts for a while#and that animatic reminded me that i should polish this and post it hhhhhh#he carries that egg everywhere and talks to it all the time about everything and nothing at all and it’s such a precious sight#the owl house#toh#toh headcanon#toh hunter#hunter noceda#toh waffles#kinda wanna draw this but i’m so rusty hhhhh

Your belos returns AU is very interesting, idk if I've seen anything like it. I like the idea he found some way to kind of make peace with his curse and while no one trusts him the palisman see so, which adds more to the whole what is he now?
thank you! that's really kind :D
(also i would just be misinterpreting because im really specific, this au is about belos missing out on the entire finale so he doesn't really "return" . everyone thought belos died when the collector turned him to wall art on the day of unity so there's a few things that are different like hunter only having his inital scar, flapjack is alive, and the titan isn't dead)
(also also i'm thinking of calling this the "too late" au hope that's okay)
as for the palismen, i have an idea with them and philip but to avoid too much spoilers, i'll say this: philip and the palisman souls merged together somewhat through sheer survival instinct when the collector destroyed his body which is how he has a human form but is stuck with his antlers. he can also keep his form very well and doesn't fall into any fits like before (though it seems to be implied that catching them in hollow minds also did that? i don't actually know what catching it really did tbh) philip doesn't need to consume palismen anymore because of this but maybe it'll give him a power boost...?

reunited raeda + child! reader
A/n: the story is different, the Hexsquad or Camila isn't here sorry :/. Also, this takes place after Belos was defeated you make up how.
You felt adrenaline run through your body. Your heart was pumping fast. You have found a rebus and ended up following it to its location. To your surprise, it was actually there. So you put the blood on the portal. The portal lit up giving you a way back to your home.
You took a deep breath and stepped inside. For a few seconds, you were blinded by gold light. Once you reached the other side it took a second to regain your vision. When you did your eyes widened. The once bustling forest was depleted of any life. "Hello?" You called out, "Is anyone there?" No one answered, which, gave you an answer to your question. Not that you were really expecting an answer to either of your questions. Despite that, you gave a slight sigh before moving forward. After a few more minutes you suddenly recognized the path. You started running faster, which was the direction you knew The Owl House was in.
You soon reached your digestion. The house seemed more well-taken care of which gave you hope of seeing your parents again. But that hope depleted the moment you noticed that Hooty wasn't in the door anymore. You slowly walk over to the door and opened it. You were greeted with Lilith angrily pointing her palismen, ready to attack, at you. When she noticed who you were she dropped her palismen with wide eyes. "Y-y/n... Is that really you?" "Aunt Lilith!" You yelled and ran over to hug her. "I'm so glad you're okay!" She said teary-eyed. Hooty wrapped around you. "I missed you so much!" You exclaimed.
You and Lilith sat in an embrace for a few more minutes. You slowly pulled away and she let go. "Where are Raine and Eda?" You asked. "They're at the market, they should be back any minute," she said while wiping away her tears. "Okay..." You said slightly disappointed but still happy that they were okay. "Also, Hooty I was so worried when I didn't see you in the door." You said talking to both of them. You gave them a brief run down while you were waiting.
You heard the door knob turning and snapped your head to the side. Your parents walked into the house. They both walked past you and put the groceries on the table. Eda turned around a let out a loud gasp. Raine turned to see what she was looking at and clasped their hands over their mouth. You stood up and waved. "Hey, Mom-" You were cut off by both of them running and hugging you. "Y/n!" Eda cried out. Raine had tears form in their eyes, "Y/n I can't believe it! I'm so happy to see you again!" Raine cried. "I am too. It's so amazing to see you guys again." You said. You all stayed in a tight embrace for a while. You eventually fell asleep and woke up in your old bed which filled you with nostalgia. It was going to take a while to get used to this life again but it's undoubtedly great to be back.
A/n: Me: I'm going to be a little slower sorry! Also me: *posts three posts twice in one day.*

Meeting the parents ✌️ read on AO3 or under the cut. I know it’s been a month since I updated don’t mention it I’m sensitive
It was so odd how a simple word can change everything and nothing at the same time?
When they saw each other at school, she still greeted him the same way. She’d either rush into his arms, laughing as he spun her around or she’d wrap him in a tight hug to spin him around (it all depended on who got to the other’s locker first). Hunter was surprised at first, he had assumed that them dating would change everything, but somehow it hadn’t. He realized that it meant that the way she felt about him hadn’t changed, that she really had liked him for awhile. It still made him blush like an idiot.
But now he didn’t mind if she noticed the blushing, because he was her blushing boyfriend.
When his hand would brush hers when they walked, she took it. She’d link their pinkies or laced their fingers and he didn’t have to make an excuse or it in his mind like she didn’t want him to get lost or something. She did it because he was her boyfriend and she wanted to be close to him, and she wanted everyone to know it. Because he was something to her that no one else was.
Nothing in his world had drastically changed. He still went to school, went to flyer derby practice, helped Dell with the palismen, but now everything he did he did as Willow Park’s boyfriend. He roamed the realm as someone Willow Park publicly liked as more than a friend. He knew he was someone, but now he was someone to her . He’d endure 100,000 “That’s Hunter, the old Golden Guard” for one “Hunter? Oh, you mean Willow’s boyfriend” identifier. It was the first title that did not make his heart feel tied down, but bursting and free. A title he hoped to never pass on, only to rank up.
He hadn’t changed; he looked the same, talked the same, dressed the same. And yet, he was totally different. Because he was Willow’s. He was Willow’s boyfriend.
And he did not get tired of saying it.
“Sorry, I can’t talk right now, I’m waiting for my girlfriend Willow. Since I’m her boyfriend, I wanted to walk her to class, ya know? Since we’re advanced friends. Just wanna make sure my girlfriend doesn’t need help carrying her books. And if she does, I can help. Since that’s a boyfriend job and I’m her boyfriend after all.”
“Okay… I literally didn’t say anything but I’m glad you two are happy,” said Viney, who was literally just walking by. “Tell Willow I said hi, okay?”
“As her boyfriend, I will be sure to let my girlfriend know,” he said proudly as Viney picked up the pace.
Willow’s hair had never been more full of flowers. The sight of Hunter waiting for her made her absolutely giddy and that unbridled joy manifested itself in flowers so vibrant and colorful she looked like a walking topiary. She was too enamored to be sly and her inability to hide her joy made his wide, toothy, dopey grin even dopier. Which made more flowers and it was just a never ending cycle. It was like every day was the first day.
The way he looked at her hadn’t changed but now the look lingered and he didn’t turn away when she caught him. He still got nervous around her but now it was a nerve he was confident about. Willow couldn’t describe it with words but she felt the subtle change between them. It was a new kind of uncertainty, a different brand of scary, it was more exciting and less heavy. She had been worried for awhile that it was all in her head, that she was misreading his blushes when she complimented him or misinterpreting the soft way he said her name, like it was something precious to him.
Willow made it clear that she was a fan of affection and Hunter made it clear that he loved receiving that affection. But as much as Hunter absolutely loved letting Willow know how much she meant to him, he sometimes still had trouble being a “just because” person. He was used to everything having a reason, a bigger purpose. So when Willow would lean over the table to quickly peck his cheek as he was sketching “just because he looked cute,” well he didn’t know how to adjust. He felt he hadn’t earned it. Granted, he was not complaining, but he was unsure how to return the gesture. If he went to kiss Willow every time he thought she looked amazing or was on his mind well… he may never stop.
But Willow was always ready and willing to validate him. Whenever he made a move, no matter how small, she made sure to show her approval. If he placed his hand on hers, she’d lace her fingers through his as though to say “I’m keeping you.” If he put his arm around her shoulders she would grab his waist as though to say “this is where you belong.” And when he embraced her, she would wrap her arms tightly around him and lift him off the ground to say “you are the best thing that’s ever been mine.”
So every morning when they eventually needed to part for class, Willow would quickly kiss his cheek and it was like a shot of caffeine. She had just kissed it to say hello minutes ago and just when he was shaking off the daze that brought, she lured him into another. He practically floated to class after that. She loved the effect it had and she loved that he was helpless to hide it. She wished she could dedicate her mornings to covering his whole face in kisses, but Gus was threatening to start charging them a snail for everytime their goo goo eyes distracted them from a group conversation. Willow knew he was kidding, but noticed the next day Hunter had brought some in a pouch, just in case.
They were insufferable to everyone around them and Willow absolutely loved it.
“So, what did Willow’s dads say when you told them?” asked Luz as she sat on the basement coach reading as Hunter worked on yet another gift for Willow at his sewing machine. He was adding pockets to a dress she had found at the thrift store ( Willow, my girlfriend, loves having pockets to keep things in , he had said proudly to the lady at the craft store who did not ask). Then on top of the pockets he was adding patches and stitches so there was no mistaking who the dress was for and who it was from.
“Told them what?”
“That you and Willow are dating,” said Luz like it was obvious. “They can be pretty strict, so you must’ve been pretty nervous when you asked for their blessing.”
Hunter stopped what he was doing and when Luz heard the sewing machine stop she looked up and saw Hunter staring at his hands in a panic.
“I was supposed to… ask them?” he said, beginning to sweat.
“Woah, uh hey! It’s okay!” assured Luz, jumping up from the coach to make sure he didn’t accidentally stab his hand with the needle while he was distracted. “You technically don’t have to ask them, that’s just something people sometimes do! But I mean as long as you told them that you…” the panicked look on Hunter’s face did not let up. “You haven’t told them, have you?”
“I… don’t think so.”
“I mean, you’ve told everyone else on the Isles,” laughed Luz. “Plus everyone in line at the supermarket.”
“I know I just… I mean, I wasn’t hiding it or anything but I’m weirdly scared of them?” said Hunter. It still baffled him, he had no reason to be but he knew that if he even suspected they disliked something about him he would throw himself into the boiling sea. But that was normal, right?
“Well, I’m sure Willow has told them,” said Luz, hoping to undo the stress she had summoned.
“But what if she hasn’t?” Hunter was beginning to spiral. “W-what if she just assumed I did that part right and they already know? I mean, I didn’t do anything else right but I would’ve if I had known-.”
“Hey hey hey, chill out hermano,” said Luz. “The Parks totally love you, out of all of Willow’s friends you’ve definitely gotten her in the least amount of trouble.”
“But… I kidnapped her when we first met.”
“Has she told them that?”
“Um…” Hunter knew she had told her dads about him, she had mentioned it here and there in the human realm but she never went into much detail. The subject hadn’t come up when they first met, he could recall the day in perfect detail. He had just helped Willow find her dads and was catching up with Darius…
“... and they’re pack animals which means they create families and they’re always-,” Hunter looked up and saw Darius’ eyes were elsewhere. “Sorry, I’m probably boring you, huh?”
“Hmm? Oh, no no little prince of course not,” Darius chuckled fondly. “I just think there’s a certain someone trying to get your attention.”
He followed Darius’ gaze and saw Willow talking excitedly with her dads, who looked over at him to suggest he was a topic of discussion. Willow’s eyes found Hunter’s and gave him a quick smile before turning away, her cheeks flushed.
“Something tells me she doesn’t need to try all that hard,” said Darius, giving Eberwolf a knowing glance. “Aren’t you going to introduce us?”
“Huh? What? Why?” said Hunter nervously. “Y-you know Willow, you’ve seen her before.”
“Hmm, that’s not who I meant,” smirked Darius, looking across the room somehow knowing that the flyer derby girl was having the same conversion with her fathers. He walked over as Hunter trailed nervously behind him, unable to help but smile at the way Willow’s fathers whispered more intensely the closer he got. Darius extended his hand to them and smiled.
“Hello, I’m Darius,” he said, the two men looking up at him as though starstruck before Gilbert took his hand and mumbled ‘pleased to meet you’. “It’s a pleasure to meet you sirs, I’m a big fan of your daughter. Though, I have to admit I think Hunter here will fight for the status of her biggest fan.”
“Oh, so this is Hunter,” said Harvey in a tone that suggested he had come up in conversation long before this. Suddenly all eyes were on him and all the grimwalker could go was offer a shy wave as he gulped. He knew how important Willow’s dads were to her and he suddenly wished he had more time to prepare. He wished he smelled better and his clothes weren’t so disheveled so they didn’t think he looked like this all the time.
But before he had the chance to say something embarrassing, he was pulled forward and was suddenly wrapped in a tight hug with the entire Park clan. Willow was right beside him as her fathers towered over them, and there was no room to be nervous here. This was just warmth and love and safety and gratitude.
Hunter chuckled nervously as the embrace only tightened, as Darius chuckled endearingly to the side.
“Thank you,” whispered Harvey and somehow Hunter knew he was talking to him.
“Uh, y-you’re welcome,” said Hunter as they did not loosen their grip around him and Willow buried her head in his chest. He fought the urge to let the tears fall again, somehow hopefully he had wordlessly made a good first impression. It felt undeserved. “What ah, what did you tell them about me?” he whispered to Willow.
“I just told them you mean alot to me,” she whispered to him as she gave him a smile.
Unlike most people, the Parks had liked him from the moment they met him. He was certain that no matter what they learned about him, they would still like him because Willow liked him and he made her happy.
But that just meant he had so much to live up to. It meant he had to do everything he could not to sully their opinion of him.
“You could do what Amity and I did for mom,” suggested Luz, sensing his mind was fabricating a mission.
“You mean make a video?”
“Yeah! Willow has tons of pictures of you two together, it’ll be easy,” said Luz. “Plus, they’ll see how happy you make each other.”
“And the video convinced Camila to give Amity her blessing?”
“Well, I guess so,” said Luz, jumping up to get the photo album Willow kept there. “It was actually more of just a cute way to officially tell her that I’m bi.”
“Oh,” said Hunter, getting up to help her select photos to start. “Good idea then, I didn’t know I had to officially tell them.”
-
Hunter arrived nearly an hour early. He was so paranoid about being late that he hadn’t considered being too early. But he hid the bushes and rehearsed what he’d say and how he’d say it. He wanted to show them he was a confident, capable boyfriend. He needed them to know he was worthy of the title.
When the time finally became appropriate for Hunter to knock on the door, the door flew open almost immediately as though Willow had been equally anxiously waiting for him on the other side.
“Hiya,” she said sweetly, beaming at the sight of him as though she hadn’t just seen him at derby practice a few hours ago.
“Hi,” he said, the sight of her looking so happy to see him easing him a little. He was worried he had overdressed, a light green dress shirt and bright, floral tie had been carefully selected to show how much he belonged in Willow’s world. But as she stood in the doorway in a golden sundress that matched her glasses, he felt validated in assuming the evening's importance. “Y-you look beautiful.”
She smiled and he could tell by her smile she was about to lean up and kiss his check, an action that never failed to make his ears flutter, when suddenly they were joined by two taller figures on either side of Willow.
“Well, that’s exactly what we said,” laughed Harvey as he put his hand proudly on Willow’s shoulder.
“Hello sirs! Pleased to meet you- see you! Haha, we have met before,” he said nervously as Willow tried to hide her smile, unable to help but to find the whole scene endearing. He held out his arm as he turned between the two men as though trying to calculate how to shake two hands at once while still concealing the bouquet he hid behind his back. Whenever he brought flowers, he tried to have Willow guess what they were, he’d give a fun fact about their land of origin or what they signified as a hint. It was a silly little game that allowed them both an opportunity to impress the other but for some reason it felt too silly to do in front of her dads.
After the managed to help Hunter pick an order to shake their hands, they welcomed him inside and Willow leapt up and whispered in his ear
“Primroses, iris, and zinnias,” she said softly.
“Correct,” he replied with a smile, revealing her prize to which she happily took. She smelled them, knowing he had spent a great deal of time selecting the perfect shades to balance the collection.
“And what’s this?” she said, noticing the laptop bag hanging from his shoulder for the first time. “Are you gonna have them watch the Cosmic Frontier movie? Because I think you should probably-.”
“Oh, no no,” said Hunter as his nerves caught back up with him. “I wanted to tell them we’re advanced friends in a special way, so they know I’m a good choice.”
“Awh Hunter, that’s so sweet but I promise-.”
“I know I was supposed to do this sooner, but you mean so much to me that I wanted to make sure I didn’t skip any steps,” Hunter said sincerely, and Willow knew he was determined to see it through. When Hunter liked something, he gave all of himself to it. Whether it was sewing or palisman or Cosmic Frontier or derby, being something he cared about meant you were something he did not give up on. And at the top of that list written in the most precious handwriting was her, and she could not deny the lengths he went to in order to remind her.
“Okay,” she said with a smile. “I’ll go help you set up.”
“Thanks,” he said, taking a deep breath. “I want to make sure I leave plenty of room after for questions before game night officially starts.”
“So what’s this all about, kids?” asked Harvey as they sat on the couch, watching Hunter set up the laptop as Willow adjusted the lights. “Showing off your human realm items? What’s this one do?”
“Oh! Is this the one that toasts things?” asked Gilbert. “Or the one with all the dancing?”
“Not exactly, Mr. Park,” said Hunter as he finally remembered Luz's Lessons on how to queue the video, as he turned to face them standing beside the laptop. “I um, want to thank you for having me over tonight because there’s something important I wanted to tell you, about how I feel about Willow.”
The flowers in Willow’s hands seemed to poof, as though literally elated by Hunter’s words. He locked eyes with her and became stuck there for a moment, finding another reason to hopelessly admire her every time he did, but he managed to return to the mission at hand.
“But uh then I thought, why just tell you when I can show you!” he said, his voice unable to shake the obvious memorization in his delivery as he pressed the spacebar to play the slideshow. He smiled nervously, hoping it would be to their liking, but when the song he had carefully chosen from Luz’s online music gallery did not begin to play he grew worried.
Because instead he heard his own voice.
“Are you recording?”
Which was not the plan.
“Yes, ” came Luz’s voice on the video. “ But don’t worry, I’ll edit this out.”
“That’s uh, haha t- the wrong video,” announced Hunter as he tried to make the computer go back. But Luz had preset it for him, unaware the wrong video file had been pulled up.
“Okay, now you just need to record a voice over,” came Luz’s voice, the screen black and trying to come into focus.
“Well what do I say?” asked Hunter’s voice on the screen.
The little button had disappeared from the screen and he didn’t know how to get it back. Oh, why hadn’t he watched the video all the way through before bringing it here?
“I dunno, say something cool?”
“Like about Willow?”
“Well, I’m sure they know Willow is cool but show them that you’re cool too!”
“They’re not stupid! They’re gonna know Willow is cooler than me!” said Hunter on the recording. “What if they think I’m too weird or sweaty to go out with her?”
“Awh, she makes you weird and sweaty?” Luz gushed sweetly on the recording.
Meanwhile, Hunter was frantically pushed every button he could but the torture did not stop.
“They’re not gonna believe she’s my girlfriend. I can’t even believe she's my girlfriend.”
“What if they don’t believe you? Are you gonna kiss in front of them to prove it?”
Hunter felt as though he was melting into the earth and in a moment of panic unmatched by anything else he had ever experienced, he threw the laptop across the room. Not so hard that it broke or became unusable but enough to render it silent.
Hunter’s eyes widened as the Parks’ eyes darted from the broken human technology back to him, trying to process what had just happened and why. Hunter was positive they’d recede any blessing they had been ready to give. Hunter was too embarrassed to speak or move or blink and the room was silent until Willow broke it with a sigh.
“Okay,” Willow said softly as though in defeat. “You guys can show him.”
Her fathers gasped at the same time. “Really?” asked Gilbert. “Are you sure, petal?”
“Yeah,” Willow said as though bracing herself. “Go ahead.”
“What are you talking about? Show me what?” asked Hunter, confused as her fathers ran into the next room, giggling like school boys. They were obviously excited about something. The uncertainty made Hunter nervous. Was this some kind of punishment for failing the advanced friendship announcement?
“Here,” said Willow, patting the seat beside her. “You’re gonna wanna sit down for this.”
Hunter confusingly obliged as he sat beside Willow, unable to read her expression. Her fathers rushed back in and sat on either side of the pair, as Harvey’s scroll floated in front of the group and a video waiting to be played.
“What is this?” Hunter whispered to his girlfriend.
“You’ll see,” she sighed. “They’ve been dying to show you this for months.”
“Okay, okay, shhh!” said Gilbert as though they were in a theater as he managed to press play, despite his giggling nearly overtaking his body.
“ The healer said we need to monitor her symptoms,” said Harvey on the recording, the camera failing to focus but Hunter could tell they were looking at Willow laying on the couch with a blanket and an army of pillows around her.
“Papaaaaa I’m fiiiine,” Willow groaned in a tone that suggested otherwise, congested and strained. “I need my scroll back please!”
“Sweetie no, you need to rest,” said Gilbert lightheartedly, suggesting she had made the request many times.
“Daaaaad, I need to message him back!”
“I’m sure Gus will understand if you take awhile to-.”
Willow in the recording started to giggle. “It’s not Gusss,” she smiled as she began to fiddle with her braid.
“Oh?” asked Harvey, trying to recall another ‘he’ in her friend group. “Wait, is this the boy from flyer derby?” Harvey set his scroll on the table, unaware that it was still recording, as he adjusted the quilt on Willow.
“Maaaaybe,” said the slightly delirious Willow, out of frame but still able to be heard.
“And does this boy have a name?” asked Gilbert’s voice with a smile that was audible.
“Maaaaybe,” Willow giggled once more. “He has a face though, and it’s veeeery cute.”
On the couch, the current Willow hid her face in her hands as Hunter’s face turned a matching shade of red.
“Oh, so he’s cute and he plays flyer derby?” teased Gilbert. “Sounds like you and I have the same type.” Hunter knew the Parks well enough to know through hearing it alone that he playfully nudged his husband’s ribs. “So when can we meet him?”
“Daaaaad stop!” Willow said, her voice too giddy to be convincingly irritated.
“I didn’t say anything, petal,” he laughed in response. “You know we like meeting all your friends.”
“ Something tells me he’s a little bit more than a friend,” teased Harvey.
“Papa!” Willow gasped as though the suggestion was utterly scandalous. “That’s so… I mean, why would you think…”
But Willow could not finish her accusation as she dissolved into a fit of giggles. She could not convincingly deny it, but it was still a new realization for her. The common mold did not offer her clarity, just the chance for her mind to entertain the notion unfiltered. Her fathers joined in her laughter, delighted to see her so delighted. It had been a while since their Willow had been so happy, so if there mere mention of this mystery boy caused such a reaction, well then how could they not approve?
“Why did you show me this?” asked Hunter delicately.
“I think it’s really sweet that you made a video to tell my dads we’re dating,” started Willow. “And I think it’s even sweeter that you were so worried about getting their approval, but I wanted to show you that you don’t have anything to worry about.”
“Really?”
“Basically every day since they took that video they’d ask about you,” laughed Willow. “If I had talked to you, how you were and then when we got back from the human realm it was always ‘have you asked him yet?’ or ‘has he asked you yet?’”
“Oh petal, it’s not like it’s the first thing we asked you when you come home from school,” said Gilbert as he got up to go to the kitchen.
“Yeah,” agreed his husband, following him to fetch the games from the cabinet . “It was the second.”
“I’m sorry, just to be clear,” said Hunter. “The boy you were talking about in the video was me, right?”
Willow just smiled and looked over her shoulder to make sure her dads weren’t close before darting up to kiss his cheek. “Of course, who else?”
“So your dads… approve of me?”
“Hunter, every time you come over they have to hold themselves back from making every single one of your favorite foods,” she said with a laugh. “I promise you don’t have to try so hard, they want you to like them just as much as you want them to like them.”
“Well, that’s easy for you to say,” he joked, taking her hand in his. “You already know everyone here likes you.”
She squeezed his hand. “And isn’t that the most important thing?” She teased with a grin. “It’s also really important to them that you’re comfortable.”
“Really?”
“Yeah,” she said as she heard her dads return, one carrying a tray of Hunter’s favorite snacks and the other a pile of board games almost blocking his vision.
“Plus they don’t want you to hold back when we divide into teams,” she finished quickly with a smile, too excited to be embarrassed as the coffee table became covered in boxes and plates. There was no question that Willow’s competitive nature was hereditary.
Hunter chuckled to himself as he watched the scene unfold, as Willow and her fathers debated about the order to play and who would be what piece and the rules they would follow (theirs or the ones that came with the box). It was loud and vibrant and warm and chaotic.
But one thing was not up for debate: Willow would always be on Hunter’s team

Yes 👀👀
In Willow’s defence, she hadn’t expected the tree to truly gain sentience.
She and Gus had been messing about, combining plant and illusion magic. They found a particularly old tree and- boom! It talked. Only, it kept talking. And talking. And talking.
The tree certainly had a lot to say. It wasn’t a very polite tree either.
Gus had run off to find Dell and Gwendolyn. Hunter returned from a scroll-call with Darius and nearly jumped right out of his skin when the tree cried, “So are you gonna smooch that boy or not!?”
“Uh…Willow…?” Hunter’s eyebrows rose. Willow smiled sheepishly.
“We’re working on it,” she said. “We’re hoping Dell will know what to do.” She turned back to the tree, wagging her finger in admonition. “And for your information, I kiss him whenever I please!”
“Prove it!”
“I’m not going to make my boyfriend uncomfortable because you’re bored!”
“…I…” Hunter looked between Willow and the tree, tugging on his stray strand of hair. “I have no words.”
“Bah!” the tree scoffed. “As if! You never shut up!”
Oh that did it.
Willow, for all that she loved nature, turned around and punched the tree as hard as she could.
“Someone your age should have some manners!” she snapped. “If you wanna become palismen, then watch your mouth! Or, watch your bark- whatever! Hunter won’t carve you if you’re rude!”
That finally seemed to give the tree something to think about. It fell silent with one last huff.
Willow stared at it. Hunter stared at it.
The tree sighed and grumbled, “I wanna be rabbits and squirrels.”
“Okay,” Hunter said, still plainly baffled. “I, uh- I can do that.”
“That’s better,” Willow huffed, crossing her arms. “Now mind your manners.”

i don't post the things i write very often but i found something old i wrote and i changed some parts of it. also im starved for hunter & amity friendship content. don't judge me too harshly
///
Amity glances at the boy in the dirt and wonders, 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘓𝘶𝘻 𝘴𝘢𝘸 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘦?
She knows how it feels to be convinced that if you fail, you're as good as dead. It's becoming blatantly clear to her that she's not the only one familiar with the feeling, here.
"You know.. Belos isn't the only option. It's not just — 𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘭 or 𝘥𝘪𝘦."
Hunter tilts his head just enough that his eyes meet hers, and he doesn't seem to believe her much. He doesn't have to voice his doubt - she can see it, written all over his face.
The weariness in his eyes manages to make her heart ache a little. The eyebags don't help. Sleep comes easier to her, now that she doesn't spend the better part of her evenings studying, often late into the night. If this pans out the way she wants, under the careful eye of Luz and Eda (and Hooty, and King, possibly) she figures he'll be sleeping more, too.
Amity sighs, and she sits down beside him, legs crossed. Ghost crawls into her lap, and she can't help but smile fondly, petting him while she speaks.
"Nobody's perfect, you know? Not even us. We don't even 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 to be." 𝘉𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨, says a small insistent voice in the back of her head. 𝘐𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 — Amity thinks back. She's making a conscious effort to live differently, 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘭𝘺, and if she can help it, he will get that chance, too.
Amity can't force him to take it, but she can still offer.
And she will.
"You don't have to stay here. And, you don't have to go back to the coven. If i talk to eda, im sure you could come back. With us."
Hunter pushes himself up slightly with his arms, chewing on his bottom lip. Contemplating.
"And I'm sure Luz would be happy to see you."
His eyes meet hers, then, and Amity offers a small smile, silently hoping this goes the way she wants. This whole interaction evokes a feeling of looking at a reflection, of herself. How she was before Luz changed her life so drastically. Amity isn't sure how she'd bring herself to leave without him now.
"Do.. Do you think she would be okay with it?"
Whether he's referring to Luz or Eda, Amity isn't sure, but it doesn't matter much. She knows the answer either way, "Yeah, I think so." He ponders for a moment longer, so Amity corrects herself. "I know so. Come on – let's get out of here."
He nods, glancing over his shoulder, before nodding again when he shares a brief look with the palismen perched on his shoulder.
Amity holds her hand out, Ghost in the other. He places his gloved one in hers, and she pulls him to his feet.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Okokokok. I watched Watching and Dreaming several hours ago at this point, and the hype still hasn’t gone away. So here were are: Welcome to Stella’s ranting about different parts of the Owl House finale to cope with the absolute insanity in my brain.
This is all incoherent rambling.
OWL HOUSE WATCHING AND DREAMING SPOILERS BELOW
1. Raine. Raine Whispers is a fucking badass. They were fighting against being possessed not only by the Collector but by Belos at the same time, and still managed to break through TWICE. The Collector lost control over them the first time, and they managed to push Belos out second. And then. After ALL OF THAT. They get up and chase Belos into the throne room to try and stop him from possessing the Titan. Absolute powerhouse.
2. King’s DAD???!!! Bi-gender icon, over here wearing a bad girl coven t-shirt and pajama pants. And a tiny Hooty sticking out of his eye?? Gosh, I really wish he’d been able to talk to King, but the bread pun message hit hard regardless. He’s been watchinggggg ;-;
3. Eda and King’s reactions to Luz’s ‘death’ were HEARTBREAKING. And the Collector processing the concept of death- that entire sequence hurt. Seriously, I cried twice during that scene alone- once when Luz died, and once when she came back. Eda and King immediately calming down from their rampage upon seeing she was okay I’m not ok-
4. DARIUS AND HUNTER. All of the parent-child reunions were adorable, both Gus and Willow seeing their dad’s again dhdhdh, but Darius and Hunter’s little moment aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. And Eberwolf too! I really wish we could have gotten more, but the show gave us so much with what little time Disney gave
5. The flapjack tattoos. And Hunter being a palismen carver. AND HIS NEW PALISMEN- I heard Dana confimed the new bird’s name was Waffle and I love him so much. ALSO HUNTLOW SIDE-HUG???? I’m going to need fanfics for all of these ships and moments to cope with this finale istg. I’ll probably write a pile of them
6. RAEDA EARRING SWAP. I was already crying watching the end credits, and then I spotted Raine’s earring on Eda and immediately had to rewind. I didn’t even notice Raine wearing Eda’s earrings until I went back- canon or not, I’m interpreting the earring-swap as a boiling isles alternative to wedding rings. Sue me.
7. DALADOR CONFIRMED??? I now need content about Amity and Hunter being step-siblings because that shit is hilarious. And when Amity and Luz eventually get married that would make Hunter her brother-in-law ddhdhdh I’m fine. Also, Alador removing the coven sigils- we love to see it. And the fact that Odalia is nowhere to be seen is perfection
8. LUZ GOT HER QUINCENERA!! Lilith tried XD
9. Lilith and Hooty’s reunion was everything I hoped it to be. Their friendship means so much dhdhd. Lilith aroace icon u.u
Ok, that’s some things out of my system for now. I might be back with rambling round two later because I’m sure there’s a dozen tiny details I’ll notice upon rewatching and looking at other people point things out. Till then, I shall be writing fanfic and drawing fanart :D

Stepping Stones: Chapter 5
Hunter smiles to himself as he ties his apron. He started working on it after his first carving lesson a month ago and just finished it last week, and between Camila’s guidance and Darius’s, he knows it’s his best piece yet. A perfect fit, with enough pockets for all of his tools, and little patches chosen by each of his friends to make him happy every time he looks at it.
“So?” He spreads his arms, allowing Dell to take it in. “What do you think?”
Dell smiles. “It’s perfect, Hunter. I’m glad you finished it for today.”
The words are warm, but they send a shiver down Hunter’s spine nonetheless. “Why today?”
Dell’s smile widens. “Because today is the day you’re going to carve your first palisman.”
The shiver was right. Hunter takes a step back, fervently shaking his head. “No. No. I keep telling you, I’m not ready—“
“And I suspect you’ll continue telling me you’re not ready until you’re as old and gray as I am.” Dell steps forward, putting his hand on Hunter’s shoulder. “You have to start sometime, little bird.”
Hunter swallows. Usually the endearment can reach him when nothing else does, but this time it’s just a reminder. This time it just strengthens his resolve. “I’m sorry,” he says, stepping back again. “I can’t.”
Dell shrugs. “Well, I couldn’t let you off the hook even if I wanted to. This wasn’t my request.”
Hunter blinks. “What?”
“It was mine.”
Hunter turns to find Raine ducking under a palistrom branch, their broken violin in hand. Hunter and the Clawthornes planted the little blue seed barely a month ago, and already the tree towers over the grove. Seeing how fast it’s grown gives Hunter hope— but also a squirming, hot guilt at the knowledge of just how many palismen Belos must have consumed for there to be so few of these trees that grow so quickly. Another reason why Hunter isn’t equipped for this.
“Trust me,” he says to Raine. “I’m the last person you want to carve your new palisman. Isn’t there someone else you can ask?”
They shrug. “Probably. But I still want you.”
“Raine, seriously. I’ll mess it up. I’ll give it five feet, or lopsided eyes…”
“So what?”
“So what?”
Raine comes to sit on a log and motions for Hunter to sit beside them. He does, keeping his eyes on the ground.
“Hunter,” Raine says. “Do you want to know why I want you to be the one to carve my new palisman?”
“Because we both know what it’s like to lose our first ones?”
“Well, yes. But also because I know you won’t make it perfect.”
That gets Hunter’s gaze to snap to them.
“Hunter,” Raine says, “do you think I’m a good witch?”
“Of course!”
“And yet,” Raine says, tapping their scars, “most people would say I’m not flawless, huh?” They reach out and put one hand on Dell’s scarred fingertips. “Same goes for him.” They drop their other hand to Hunter’s arm, gently running it over the scar there. “And you. Does that make us any less worthy of our magic? Our lives?”
“Not you and Dell—“
“The correct answer is just no, Hunter.”
Raine is staring at him with such intensity that he knows there’s only one thing to say. “Okay,” he whispers, his eyes welling in spite of his best efforts. He turns away quickly, wiping his eyes on his sleeve.
Raine moves their hand from his arm to his shoulder. “I want a palisman that reflects that, that shows that you don’t have to be perfect to be powerful. And no one understands that better than you.”
Flapjack wasn’t flawless, Hunter recalls, remembering the little scar over his eye. The one that matches Luz’s. He’s doing this for Flapjack, isn’t he? Flapjack never cared about perfection.
“Okay,” Hunter finds himself saying again, and the brilliant grins Dell and Raine exchange make him feel almost good about it. Dell retrieves a piece of wood, and Hunter turns back to Raine.
“Do you have an animal in mind?”
Raine nods, extending their violin to him. “I carved the scroll to look like Lightning,” they say. “I’d like another fox, I think.”
“Do you have any pictures of Lightning I could use as a reference?”
Raine shakes their head. “I don’t want to replace them. I’ll paint this one a different color— brown, I think, like the violin, instead of white Lightning was. And I like the idea of them looking different. I just…”
“Want an animal that feels familiar.” Hunter nods. On the occasions when he thinks about a new palisman, it’s always a bird.
“All right.” Hunter looks from the wood to the violin and back again. Takes a deep breath. Then another. Makes the first cut.
Carving takes the rest of the day. As has been their custom, Willow and Gus come by after school, but Dell waves them away after they greet Hunter. Hunter’s glad his head is tilted down so that he can hide his blush. Clearly, Dell has noticed how shaky his hands get whenever Willow gets too close. After human school lets out, Luz comes by, and Dell permits her to stay. She puts on a playlist of Hunter’s favorite human songs, and he finds himself falling into a rhythm, only taking a break to eat when Camila brings dinner.
Finally, just as the last rays of light are disappearing, it’s finished. Hunter has only allowed himself to focus on one piece at a time, and his heart hammers in his chest as he takes his first look at the complete fox.
He cringes. None of the legs are symmetrical, and one ear is significantly smaller than the other. “I can try and make you another one,” he offers, bracing himself as he looks at Raine—
—Only to find them looking down at the palisman with the widest smile he’s ever seen them wear.
Luz crouches behind Hunter, leaning forward to whisper in his ear. “That’s the exact face you used to make when you looked at Flap,” she whispers, and Hunter swallows against the sudden lump in his throat.
“Hunter,” Raine says, looking him in the eyes, “you would have to pry this beautiful creature from my cold, dead hands.”
The clearing erupts into laughter, and Hunter slumps against Luz in relief. Raine takes the palisman, stroking it gently, then glances at Hunter again. “Is it okay if I give you a hug?”
Hunter wraps his arms around them in answer, and Raine pulls him in tightly. The gratitude in their embrace seems too real for Hunter to be imagining it, and he allows two tears to roll down his cheeks. So many palismen he helped Belos destroy. But now there’s one palisman that exists because of him.
“I think you’ve got a real talent,” Raine tells him, pulling back. “You might be able to tutor some of your classmates like Eda did eventually.”
Hunter finds himself smiling at the thought.
“Are you excited?” Raine asks. “To start at Hexside?”
There’s just one month now until his first day. “Yes,” he says, pleased to find the word feels true. “It’s been nice, living somewhere that doesn’t have such strong memories of Belos. And my family— Luz and Camila and Vee, they’ve been great. But this feels right. I love being able to learn about all the different kinds of magic, and to see them come alive. I get the feeling I’ll get more of that at Hexside.”
“You will,” Raine promises.
“And—“ Hunter pauses. Considers. Decides to go for it. “Is living with you and Darius still an option? When I start school?”
“Are you kidding? Yes!” Raine cries, so loudly that everyone in the clearing glances at them. Lowering their voice, they continue, “you can move in whenever you want. We could even do a sort of trial, if you’d like. Maybe start by doing one night a week here and see how it feels?”
Hunter lets out a breath and nods. “That sounds really good.”
“Good. I can talk to Camila about it, if you’d like.”
“That would be nice.”
“Do you think it will be okay with her? Letting you go sometimes?”
“Oh yeah. She hasn’t said anything, but I know money’s been tight, and I think she’s a little tired of only having guests over whenever I’m here with Dell.”
“She doesn’t mind that,” Luz promises, coming to sit on Hunter’s other side. Of course she was eavesdropping.
“Still. You guys are wonderful, but—“
“But this is where you need to be.”
“At least for now.”
“Well.” Luz bumps his shoulder. “Our door is always open, and we’re not going anywhere. Well. You and I are going places, but in the ambitious-metaphor way, not the literal-travel way.”
Hunter laughs, glancing at Raine’s palisman again. They're not perfect, but Raine loves them. Hunter isn’t perfect, but he is loved. He is going places.
“Yeah,” he says, resting his head against Luz’s. “I know.”

I could even learn how to love (like you)
Fandom: The Owl House
Rating: G
Relationships: Hunter/Luz (romantic)
Characters: Hunter, Luz Noceda; MINOR - Waffles, Flapjack
Summary: “Luz,” Hunter stares at her, receiving confusion in response. “Your… Your palisman…”
She doesn’t look hurt.
Instead, the human girl smiles.
“It’s okay, Hunter,” Luz reassures him. “It’s what we wanted.”
Word count: 1.275
AO3
Tears.
He senses tears.
Grief.
When Hunter opens his eyes again, he sees the two most important things in his life. One of them being Flapjack. And the other…
Where the tears come from.
“Hunter?” Brown eyes look into his magenta soul.
Grunting, he manages to sit with someone else’s help, only for Luz to wrap her arms around his neck, without hurting nor engulfing him.
“I’m so sorry,” she hiccups, “I sh-should have–”
Hunter knows what she’s going to say.
So, he hugs her back.
He’s the one who hugs the tightest.
“No,” Hunter whispers, voice broken. “None of this is your fault.”
She cries silently, not wanting anyone else to hear.
Only him.
As they hug each other closer…
Hunter’s chest feels weird.
Alive.
He realizes.
And pulls away.
“Luz,” Hunter stares at her, receiving confusion in response. “Your… Your palisman…”
She doesn’t look hurt.
Instead, the human girl smiles.
“It’s okay, Hunter,” Luz reassures him. “It’s what we wanted.”
He shakes his head.
He wants to remove his heart and give it back to Luz.
Hunter knows how much she wanted a palisman. He saw how long she waited for it to hatch. Only for him to take her life goals, her hopes and dreams away.
It’s not fair.
He’s about to say all of this, but Luz’s smile falls in regret, and she walks away from the group. Then, the others question her helping Belos meet the Collector, and she tells everyone else the truth.
The palisman is never brought up again.
Hunter himself doesn’t because it’s not the focus anymore.
But deep inside…
He knows he can’t ignore it.
And he will do something about it.
--
“When can I open my eyes?”
“Just wait a little longer!”
“Ugh, it’s taking forever,” Luz exaggerates, then giggles. “Come ooooon, I’m excited!”
“I promise you I’m almost done, please shut up so I don’t mess it up.”
“Gee, fine.”
Luz swings her legs back and forth as she sits on a wooden chair, knowing that waiting is not her strongest suit. Hunter, though, has been very insistent on this surprise, and from what her friends told her, he’s been working day and night to make it perfect. They say nothing else about what exactly he’s been doing.
Regardless, for his sake, Luz waits. She certainly doesn’t want to ruin the surprise.
“Are your eyes still closed?” Hunter asks from afar.
“Yes.”
“Good. Don’t peek.”
Luz snorts at his seriousness. “Alright.”
There are slow steps coming in her direction, until she senses someone kneeling down in front of her.
“Now, open your hands.”
“Okay.” Luz raises an eyebrow.
“Don’t peek,” Hunter insists.
“I woooon’t.”
He gives her…
Something small.
Something…
Feathery?
“Come on, is this Flapjack?” Luz assumes. Not that she’s disappointed.
But Hunter isn’t the one who answers.
“... Waffles?”
It’s a chirp.
Luz gasps.
She opens her eyes, already filled with tears, as she holds the most beautiful blue jay she has ever seen.
“Oh my god,” Luz sobs, “Hunter, she’s… she’s perfect.”
In the meantime, Hunter is smiling at the crying girl the whole time, the smile as beautiful as the palisman.
“Thanks,” he says, “she’s my first work.”
Luz gasps in enthusiasm. “Y-You’re carving palismen?”
“Yeah. I think I got the gist of it, don’t you think?”
She laughs wetly. “Yeah, you’re really good.”
He blushes, the sight so precious. Every little thing about him is beautiful, from the magenta eyes to the tooth gap to the scars. She also likes his new haircut, which looks a lot like Darius’, as it’s tied in a bun. Even then, it’s very much Hunter since some rebel curls manage to come out.
“Seriously, Luz,” the boy sighs, “thank you.”
“For what?”
His hands cup hers.
“For bringing me to the light.”
At this point, she’s a crying mess. Luz sobs louder, happily, and launches herself towards Hunter, the two of them falling backwards. Obviously, Flapjack and Waffles fly above them unharmed, and they bond well regardless of the short time they’ve known one another.
Although she should probably apologize for hurting Hunter, he hugs Luz so lovingly that he really doesn’t care. She laughs and cries at the same time, and she’ll never know what she’s done to deserve him.
Eventually, Luz is looking at him, her lying on top of him, while Hunter still smiles like an idiot. She stares back, laughing softly, having wet his poor shirt with tears. They gaze deep into each other’s eyes, so much to say, and yet never said.
Luz feels his heartbeats.
And her smile falls.
“What?” Hunter asks, concerned.
She stands up, looking away.
“You didn’t…” She gulps. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“Luz…”
Now, her tears are of guilt.
She thought she’d be over it, now that Belos is finally gone, but it feels like he’s the one getting through her head and making her feel awful things, reminding her of every horrible thing she’s done.
Luz hears another chirp.
Waffles lands on her shoulder to show support.
“Luz,” Hunter steps closer. “I didn’t do this because I owe you one. It’s because you always wanted a palisman. A companion. Someone to be with you, to understand you better than anyone else. And you deserve someone like that in your life.”
When she looks back, his arms are open, showing that he’s not going to harm her or hate her – that nothing in the world could ever make him hate her.
Luz takes another step towards him, now they’re closer than ever, but they don’t hug again. At least not yet.
“That’s your deepest wish, isn’t it?” Hunter’s voice is quiet, yet it brings her good shivers inside. “To be understood?”
She knows she doesn’t need to answer. He already knows.
Still, Luz nods.
“Then you’re allowed that,” Hunter reassures her. Slightly bigger, bare hands gently caress her arms, calming her down.
Luz opens her mouth, trying so hard to speak, and yet failing many times.
“I-It’s not that I don’t love Waffles, I love her so much,” she says, smiling at her new palisman which returns the gesture in the bird way. “It’s just…”
She looks at anything but Hunter, only to settle for his chest.
“I love…”
Luz is too scared to finish the sentence.
But…
Should she be?
Hunter slowly cups her face towards him.
“I know,” he whispers even lower, even though it’s just the two of them and their palismen. His gaze is loving, contemplative, like he’d do anything to protect her from the horrors of the world and the horrors within her that nobody sees.
Just that… is an answer.
They don’t need to say anything else.
Slowly, Luz approaches.
And…
She kisses his scarred cheek.
She doesn’t want to pressure him.
Hunter responds by kissing her small scar.
… then her cheek.
Mostly, her tears, like they’re scars, too.
He’s so gentle…
Eventually, Hunter is smiling at her, in a way no one has ever.
He says nothing.
And he doesn’t have to.
Luz hides herself in his chest, having been afraid and guilty of getting in touch with it since she saved his life.
Hunter hugs her again, protectively, and Luz internally swoons at the height difference. She hates to admit that she’s still the cheesy romantic, but well, that’s Luz Noceda for you. Her mom and her friends love her the way she is, and so does Hunter.
She knows through his heartbeat.
It beats, beats, beats.
It beats for her.
It beats at the same rate as hers.
Luz knows now.
It’s okay.
It’s okay. She deserves it.

re: raine and hunter bonding over their belos-flavoured trauma, how do you think they discuss palismen?
this is brought by the reveal that raine's violas, like the head of it, is their palisman. but that viola has been smashed open TWICE. we know from owlbert that having a staff cracked hurts, so having what is essentially 90% of your body ripped open has gotta hurt. (hypothetically it might not work the same way but shhh)
palisman are an extension of the self, so to me its a representation of how raine has worked themself to the bone for this revolution, literally becoming a tool of progress. parallel this with hunter and flapjack, as the latter allows the former to be something more than a tool of the empire, a real boy with hopes and dreams.
both of their palismen were hurt by belos, in different ways.
im thinking that if the fox didn't have a staff pre-belos, it was among the first things hunter made when he got his carving technique down. something something moving on something something if not for flapjack at least for someone else.
does this make sense? i am but a seething pot of Themes and Connections
OUGH GOD YOU'RE SO FUCKING RIGHT ABOUT ALL OF THIS. I'M TRYING TO THINK OF SOMETHING USEFUL TO ADD BUT THIS IS ALL SO GOOD I WANT EVERYONE TO SEE IT IMMEDIATELY
i'm really liking the idea of raine's palisman getting to spend some time running around doing silly fox antics and getting into low-stakes trouble once belos is gone bc they've been in disguise for so long that getting to be silly is a Relief. in parallel to raine getting to breathe and relax for the first time in Ages after making sacrifice after sacrifice after sacrifice and being tortured for fuck only knows how long.
also very fond of the mental image of raine's fox often scampering off to be a nuisance to hunter specifically. probably others too like eda and luz and darius and the CATS but hunter more consistently than the others. and the concept that the fox has been left without a staff after damage to the viola is making me crazy
because i IMAGINE that raine's fox keeps gravitating toward hunter out of concern and recognition of his grief, the same way the other palismen do. and i imagine that hunter ranges from irritable to grudgingly accepting of this, because it's very difficult to resist a cute creature who keeps winding around your legs and/or neck like an obnoxious cat. and then upon realizing there's no staff, hunter's entire annoyed demeanor vanishes Immediately, like:
hunter: ...you're hurt??
the fox: ...UH OH. WE AREN'T SUPPOSED TO SHOW EMOTIONAL VULNERABILITY. I GOTTA GO RUN BACK TO RAINE RIGHT NOW IMMEDIATELY
hunter: WHAT. YOU GET BACK HERE YOU LITTLE-
and then hunter chases them all the way back to raine, whereupon the convo is just like
hunter: WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ANYONE YOUR PALISMAN IS HURT?????
raine: NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS
hunter: ARE YOU FOR REAL RIGHT NOW. ARE YOU SERIOUS.
raine: OKAY LOOK I. FORGOT TELLING PEOPLE WAS AN OPTION. WE'VE BEEN MANAGING FINE FOR A WHILE. MY HEART STILL SEIZES UP WHEN THEY CLIMB ON MY HEAD WHILE I'M OUT IN PUBLIC WE'RE MANAGING
hunter, clearly having an epiphany: okay but. you guys shouldn't be dealing with stuff alone. there are people who'd want to know
raine, clearly Deeply pained about being called out: i wish this was not so obviously something you need to hear yourself so i could argue with a child instead. ok. perhaps you are right.
hunter: yeah. i am 🥰
and then yeah hunter carves a new staff when he's confident enough. i think it would take a while bc he'd be nervous about screwing it up but raine and their palisman are both incredibly patient so that's fine
incredible content thank you.
#this is all nonsense. but is also canon in my heart#replies#toh#hunter toh#raine whispers#toh fambly

She loved the fight and the "Then how about just the two of us?" moment
Hunter runs in front of said moment "Dude you're ruining their moment."
"So uh... touch the bubble and all your bad memories come out." "I don't like that."
Second blush "Bruh." "THE EARS!!!"
"So now he's gonna tell them what's gonna happen!" "Yes!! Where's Luz though?" "Next episode."
Ep 19
"You recognize that voice right?" "The Collector."
"Aww she sent so many hearts." *cue eyeroll from her*
She's not homophobic, just a elementary schooler.
"So King's dad is.." "The Titan they live on? Yes."
"Nooo the Owl House!"
She really liked the little moments with King
"Steve!!!"
"Raine!!!" "Eda and Raine finally talk to each other."
"Nice save." Referring to Terra showing up
Man I do not remember the Eva/Luz fight hurting this badly.
"Noo they got captured!"
I know she was close to crying a little there with the transport scene where Luz was pleading with Eda. But she didn't.
"Everyone is here!" "Are they safe??" "Yes."
"She gets to carve her palismen??" "Yeah!" "Yay!"
Ep 20
"So... do we think Belos is gonna keep his promise and free the Collector." *looks at me* "No."
"She carved an egg?" "Yeah."
Still not used to Luz and Amity referring to one another as girlfriend but is pretty chill with it.
"Gotta remember that promise."
"HER FRIENDS! :D"
"They head bonked lol." "Boys be like that." "Yep."
"She broke the thingy?" "The Tamagotchi? Yep."
Was not ready for the kiss lemme tell you
Full on :O
"I was distracted by the animation-" "Same."
"Wait but kissing is only if you get married. Are they already doing that???" MY SIDES. No sweetie, no.
"In a bush." "Bush buddies."
"Does King not get a disguise?" "He does get a cloak." "Aww."
Noticed the Luz teleporting thing, but the ensuing fight made her forget it like seconds later.
*end credits* "Is... why is she flying to the Moon? Is Belos on the moon?" HELP-
Ep 21
Was awwing over King sleeping and the palismen huddled together.
"Food :)"
"Is this why you call me Mittens?" :O
"HOOTY IS SAD!!"
Tried to give her a sisterly head bonk during the Eda/Lilith moment but she was like "What are you doing lol?" :( I'm head bonking you! Goofball.
"I hope his pants do catch fire >:(" "Girl he's gonna catch more than that."
We cheered for Luz during her "Spicy Toss" moment. KICK HIS ASS!!
Okay she got spoiled by Youtube Shorts about the moment Belos got sigiled but nothing more, and I did my best to hide it from her so she was still cheering at that part.
Was upset at the crack on King's skull.
"It's like his horn :("
"Creepy monster thingy-" "I do agree-" Also this isn't the creepiest he can get lol
"So remeber how you asked how many clones Belos made?" "Yeah?" "So this" *referring to the GG Graveyard* "Is the full extent of it." ".... I don't like this." Kid neither do I, but, we stay silly :P
She sees the Collector for the first time
"THAT'S WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE??"
"Cool right?" ".... Kinda?"
"He's breaking King dad nooo."
"WAIT THIS IS HOW THEY?" "Yeah this is it." (Again, she got spoiled on them coming to the Human Realm)
"How are they gonna get back?" You'll have to see~~~
*points at Anne* "I know what that means :D"
*watching outro asking her questions, also stalling time so she can see the moment*
"Wait how's the door close-"
*rewind 10 seconds*
"Look at the doorknob."
"Is that-" "Yep :)"
Someone's alive. And angry :)"

What kind of stereotype- Eda x emperor coven!reade
A/n: this takes place during season 1
You had recently been promoted in the emperor coven. Which has given you a lot of power. That power resulted in you being the first to hear about The Owl Lady's arrest. And also being tasked to watch her. But you didn't have much to do anyway so you weren't complaining.
Never mind you were absolutely complaining. Not only was she loud and annoying, but you also couldn't look away for half a second without her being halfway through escaping the next time you looked. "Don't you usually have a dog or something with you?" "He's at home... Joking about bread or something." A confused expression spread across your face. But you decided not to ask any follow-up questions. It wasn't important and frankly, you didn't care.
"Hey, I can give you snails." "No." "Why do you choose to suck up to Belos?" You rolled your eyes. "Listen, this is the first time I'm stuck in a prison for more than 10 minutes. I'm trying to make conversation." "Listen I'm just tasked to make sure you don't escape. There is no point in getting to know me." She sighed, "Why do you hate us so much?" Eda asked. You glared at her. "Because the Titan-" "Can you give me a reason that isn't just "Belos said so?"" Eda said with a sour tone. You started to think. You kept opening and closing your mouth. Every time you thought of something your mind disproved it. "What Belos says should be enough." You stated, despite not being fully confident in the answer. "What is he your mom?" Eda scoffed.
You looked down in defeat. Eda snorted before a concerned look took over her face. "You okay?" You inhaled sharply. "Don't you think I haven't questioned Belos? I know there are messed up parts of the coven- I'm not stupid." You paused, "It's hard to put into words, but I don't hate wild witches." You said. Tears started to pool in your eyes and you quickly wiped them away.
"What kinda of pathic guard am I? Spilling my guts out to an inmate, and crying just by talking to them." You felt a hand be placed on your shoulder. "A kinder and more open-minded one than I've ever met," Eda said warmly. A small smile grew across your face. "Heh, thanks-" you snapped your head to the side. You saw Eda was on her palismen about to fly out the window. "I get arrested I hope to see you again," she smiled then inhaled, "Byeee!"

Now that we've seen everything the show could accomplish with its constraints. Is it okay to think Flap's death was kinda unnecessary?
Are you truly asking me if it’s okay to think that? Because if so then obviously it’s okay, you’re allowed to think whatever you want. I’m not the boss of you or anyone else.
Or are you subtly trying to ask me if I think it was unnecessary? The answer to that is I’m not really sure, it depends on how you define necessary I guess. Is any part of a story necessary? I don’t think every part of a story has to be strictly necessary to contribute something of value to it, but that’s just my opinion I guess.
But Flapjack’s death was foreshadowed multiple times throughout season 2, starting as early as Hunting for Palismen. I mean, there’s a reason so many fans predicted it (or were afraid of it) happening. I’m biased because Flapjack is my favorite lil guy ever and I was really hoping Hunter would carve a new vessel for him, but his death was always the writer’s intent. Does that mean it was necessary? I don’t really know, it depends on what that means to you.

For the ask game: Lilith toh 4, 9 and 12
Ooooh, thank you so much for the ask!!! 💕 I hope you're having a nice day!!!
4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
Oooooh, oh, that one's hard, mostly because I tend to get attached to like 2-3 pieces of media and then my mind gets consumed by those and I don't think about anything else ever, so something that could be well suited for her? I'm not really sure.
If we're talking just to have fun for the sake of it, I'm pushing her into Fire Emblem or Star Wars because I think she would be really fun adapted to one universe or the other. Ask me about my TOH Star Wars AU.
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
I think so, yeah. There are a lot of traits Lilith has that I have too, I see myself in her a lot, so I think either that would be a very peaceful coexistence or we would rip each other apart /j
No, okay, I do think it would be alright, honestly, if a little too quiet at times. I like to think we would make good friends though, so it's either peaceful silence with each of us doing our thing or enthusiastic rambles. Honestly, I would love to be friends with Lilith, I want to hear about the Deadwardian balusters.
12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?
Man, I feel like I'm generally terrible with headcanons but I do have many Lilith thoughts, so...
Since it seems like Eda and her carved their palismen after the curse incident, I think Lilith would have already started distancing herself a little due to the horrible amounts of guilt she would be feeling. And between Gwen dedicating all of her time and attention to Eda and Dell being generally absent before the OTHER incident with the Owl Beast or probably temporarily out of commission (which Lilith would consider as her fault as well since the curse was her fault in the first place).
All of this to say, I think she would be trying to focus on bonding with Mike Socks rather than talking to her family because... yeah.
Palismen tend to be very loving and I think Lilith would be completely charmed by hers even if he looks kinda goofy when he's out of the regal staff form (like witch, like palisman), so she would be showing him all the things she would have liked showing her family before. "Hey, Mike, look, I got a perfect grade in this test!" when Gwen ignored her, "hey, do you want to hear a joke?" when she feels too guilty to go to Eda and tell her, "this movie looks fun, let's watch it together" because Dell is in bed and recovering from losing an eye.
Later on she would be relieved to no end that she was allowed to keep him.
From this ask game!
#lilith clawthorne#mike socks#the owl house#toh#lilith is so special to me you don't understand. and that makes sense bc i never talk about her BUT#i think she hits that spot for me in which she reminds me of myself to a point it can get uncomfortable to think about her lmao#lilith clawthorne ritsu kageyama we're really in it now
