But actually no, not all takes are equally valid. Framing something as an interpretation doesn’t mean it inherently has merit. Gaza toddler needs vaccines

Ayla is living with chronic malnutrition, dehydration, and diarrhea due to the IOF's food blockade, leaving her immune system extremely compromised. The lOF's destruction of Gaza's waste management systems has also caused a surge in infectious diseases, and Ayla needs all the immune support she can get to avoid a lethal infection.

Several years ago, on a crowded commuter train in southern england, I was standing in the aisle, being miserable with many other miserable people, and there was an annoying persistent rattling noise. it was loud, inconsistent but constant, and designed to inflict suffering. Eventually I worked out that it was a window, which obviously needed to be open because it was sweltering hot, but which (being a british train not in London) was a piece of shit falling apart.

I took a random scrap of receipt from my pocket, folded it up, and with a serene "pardon me" popped that fucker straight into the part of the window that was rattling. the rattle stopped instantly. silence spread like a balm. the bliss was intense, palpable, intimate. I felt powerful love and affection. sometimes things happen like that.

“Kit.” The voice sounded as if it was coming from very far away. Not Ty’s voice, either. Kit felt as if ice had been injected into his veins, but he forced himself to roll over onto his back.

Ty was there, a silver knife in his hand. He ducked his head and started cutting away the rope around Kit’s waist. Hovering just behind him was Livvy, half-translucent, her hair floating around her as if she were underwater just as Kit had been.

“Kit, you have to get up,” she was saying. Kit had seen a lot of ghosts in his life, but never one as clearly panicked as Livvy was now. “They’re here, they followed you —“

The words echoed inside Kit’s head, all sound and no sense. Follow, follow, follow. He caught at Ty’s wrist just as the rope fell away.

once my brothers friend walked into his room and just started sniffing the air and went “oh i smell a quarter” and then walked over to a pile of clothes and moved it and picked up a quarter and i literally can’t stop thinking about it it’s been like a year and it haunts me to this day

feel free to skip the 'methods' section and read the intro and discussion, the methods section is the densest and hardest to understand for non-scientists.

it's truly amazing to me that asking autistic people about their experiences (instead of simply assuming) is a brand-new research effort that only appeared in the mid-late 2010s and that it had to be autistic researchers that led the charge.

but that's where we are, and they are finally doing it and starting to gain some insight! (there's another important paper in this vein that came out earlier)
