Fly high 621 and you'll get there, wherever you wish to be.
No need to thank me :P I just said how I done the whole game and especially the bird, and half of my tips were "speed is everything" anyway
“Look at you, 621. You found… a friend”

I think your portrayal of heavymedic is the most accurate I've seen. Most people just make them the stock happily married old men but there's so many levels of confusion and repression between them that most people just? Forget? And you keep it! And it's great!
Thanks for making stuff
Thank you anon! I love me some old happy married couple, but I find the idea of how messy their relationship would have been at first very interesting, think they are fun to think that way
I hope I could illustrate the idea of Heavy having been thinking about his feelings for Medic for a while now, while the latter didn't even question most of his own behavior or feelings until he was confronted with them, and he finds relief in that fact, compared to Heavy who wants to punch a whole in the wall

Lil doodle for Crow Country, v cool game
ID under the cut
[ID: A digital lineless drawing of a girl named Mara. She's drawn from the bust up, surrounded by green vines. Here eyes are covered in shadows, there's some blood on the front of her dress and coming down the far side of her face. A crow sits perched on her shoulder, eye red. Her hair is a lavender purple, and the same color pours down from above onto the top of her head, making the rest of it look like liquid. There is text above her head that reads: "If anyone asks my name is Mara." The word Mara has some faint blood splatters on it.]

Normally I try to speak about something that comes to mind once per day, a small commentary on the ways to the new era. But today the sun is warm, the wind is cool, and the birds sing proudly in the trees above the studio.
I'll instead take a moment today to tell you a story:
I was born in the mines, but I was one of the last people to remember childhood there. It's been a while since Sanjak has become free, and since then I have had the great joy to see children born and raised who have no knowledge of our time underground.
This is a source of great joy, but it is also a rift. They will come to me and they will ask me questions of what it was like when I was their age and I will tell them: I grew up in the mines. Things were different there.
They, too, learn history. They ask questions of the nobility that reveal a lack of understanding for the concept. The hierarchy of blood is foreign to them. To explain it is always an interesting trial with myself: I would deny none who seek knowledge the ability to find it, but to explain them faithfully is a trial against myself. (The noble would say they do not view themselves as better, merely suited for different things. But when the things they are suited to deserve luxury, and the things we are suited to are for the dirt, how is that not an assignment of value? This is not a nuance children foreign to the concept typically understand.)
Teaching the children of the mines is always a process. We tell them of the place we lived for so long, what it was like, the floods, the isolation, the denial of basic sunlight. One year, a group of children took it upon themselves to learn this trial by experience, and I remember holding a young child as they sobbed into my arms telling me of the horrors of the dark. "I know of this, dear." I said. "This is what we fought to save you from."
I do not blame them the curiosity but it is odd to feel such a combination of relief and horror. The children do not know of the mines, and this is the future we fought so hard to see. Because the children do not know but see the way it weighs on us, they sometimes take an empathetic leap in order to understand us better, and in the pain they experience at seeing a fraction of what we had to endure, I find myself drawn to tears about what was taken from me.
There many things to take away from this, I suppose. The first we did was to make it harder for them to access the old mineshafts. The rest I find myself thinking on on days like these, when the sun is warm and mild and the wind blows softly and the old horrors seem a distant nightmare.

In goofy David Tennant/Michael Sheen Loud news, my husband stumbled upon an edit with David Tennant and Michael Sheen about how they’re In Love ® and he’s been solidly on the ‘Yeah, they’re prob fuckin’ train because of me & he was like, “I don’t get it, they’re not physically compatible at all, one is really skinny and the other is cherubic—“ and I was like bruh you literally described the one who plays an angel on TV as cherubic 💀 💀 💀 certifyibly Good ™️ casting big rare W to Neil Gaiman

Hey genuine question does Dick come across as more of a real person in the comics? I got really into DC during exam season so I haven’t had the time to properly read a thing but from what I have skimmed he doesn’t feel like a real person to me? I don’t know if this sounds crazy but you know how in every comic the characters personality kinda changes and you can tell when someone is out of character becuase there is a standard personality they have. I feel like he doesn’t properly have that like he has a general set of morals but some comics write him as pretty happy and chill and others give him hella anger issues and no one says that’s incorrect. I don’t know I think I kinda Eldridge horrored him in my head where to me he’s just a symbol and a bash of other’s opinions on him
Definitely not a Dick expert by any means, but for me yes! Dick, like all comic characters, shifts with each writer and run, but I genuinely think he does have a personality. He's kind and a great leader and intelligent and dedicated/obsessed with work and good with people and a performer etc etc., these are all traits that more or less are consistent with him.
Idk what comics you've skimmed, but I don't think he's been portrayed as happy or chill in like 90% of his history (I mean he isn't grumpy or anything, but I wouldn't really describe him as 'chill'). Also the 'anger issues' thing is dependent on the context of what you're reading - there are some periods where Dick is suffering more than others, which of course would lead to slight personality shifts or more obvious anger. And that is very human to me! Dick has such a long history that he's been through so much, and for the most part I think his moods and attitudes make a lot of sense in the context of a specific run or event.
What might make Dick more difficult than other characters is his performative nature; he is a performer at heart, and sometimes that will affect how he's perceived by others. You're completely correct that he is symbolised by others (I've talked about this for Cass), so if you're reading a run where he appears from another person's perspective he might be genuinely hard to grasp. But for the most part if you're reading his solo Nightwing runs, Robin runs, Grayson, or my beloved DickBats era, I think there's a thread of who he really is underneath that. It's what makes him such an interesting and wonderful character, and honestly what makes him so human. Most of us aren't exactly who other people think we are or make us out to be, and Dick speaks directly to that.
All this to say I recommend fully reading some of his comics! I am not the best person to rec stuff but if you start fully reading him I think you'll understand his personality more. I would avoid WFA + Tom Taylor's run because those can be very misleading, but any of his other solo runs would work. Any Dick fans feel free to chime in!!!!
