Rambling about the basics of my post-bionic island Marcus redemption au :3
1. Marcus uses she/it pronouns. That is an agender butch lesbian TO ME.
Okay so I am a firm believer that Marcus's software and consciousness is backed up somewhere. She's Douglas's best creation and everyone knows it. Especially Giselle who literally COULD NOT replicate it in her androids. Also, Marcus literally reconstructed itself after the events of its first "death" in The Vanishing and was fully aware of what was going on up until she got melted by Douglas sooooo...
In my mind I think her consciousness is kinda just off somewhere trying to find a way back. If Marcus was pissed for the actions in Bionic Showdown she would absolutely be SEETHING about The Vanishing because it truly showed it that not only did Douglas leave her for death, he did not ever see her as a child because he couldn't even remember a single thing about it. Especially after seeing how much Douglas seemed to care about Daniel 🤨 oh she wants that man DEAD!
But despite all this she can't just make itself a new body... So it Bionic Showdown style hacks into Eddy's servers (Great idea hacking into a house full of people who would rather it stay dead... What could go wrong?) and just is a general nuisance. I think she'd show herself to Leo first because she lives to make his life a living hell and Leo would be actively trying to get rid of it for anywhere between weeks or months before Donald finds out (I don't think Leo would tell him because he feels that he NEEDS to be the one to finally kill Marcus for real. Tbf Marcus tried to kill him for funsies so like... Deserved). Donald upon finding out is understandably very upset (toward Marcus not Leo because I cannot stand Donald being a bad father please give that man GROWTH).
Marcus needs Donald to build her a body: 1) Because who else would do it 2) she knows it would bother Douglas if not only she came back, she was improved by his brother of all people
Obviously Donald isn't gonna do it... Not at first. Marcus is still clearly murderous but all his attempts at getting rid of her are met with failure. Marcus is there to stick around so he builds it one screen solely for herself in the lab so she won't interfere with anything else (does this work? I'll let you decide). He tells it that he won't even consider building her a new body unless she actually changes (read: isn't going to murder everyone).
So Marcus bides her time. She definitely thinks she can trick them into thinking she's changed when she actually hasn't. Which does not work because it finds itself actually mellowing over time. Leo isn't always there because he's on the island with Adam so it can't him, and Donald is busy with Tasha and eventually Naomi. Plus Chase, Bree, and Douglas being busy with the Elite Force (completely different in my mind but that's not relevant)
I like to think Tasha found out about Marcus on her own sometime when she was the only one in the house. At first she was vehemently against its presence but Tasha is the only reasonable adult in this whole show so I think she'd start to get to know Marcus and realize that she really was just a kid. A kid who was used and cast aside on multiple occasions only to be killed by the man it viewed as its father and she would be absolutely sickened by everything that happened.
Marcus's presence would be a household secret. No need to worry anyone else when there was no guarantee anything would even happen right? (I can't decide if Adam would know purely because he's the most protective but like they were all fine with Douglas sooooo... Idk)
Over time Marcus would actually grow attached to them and calm down so eventually she gets her body. Marcus definitely figured out her gender between her first revival and The Vanishing but she had people to kill so that was not her main priority. Which was also her mentality going into this so she definitely didn't tell anyone until they were talking about making her body. It doesn't want any changes so essentially it's just a recreation of its look in The Vanishing. Donald finds a way to make Marcus actually last longer unlike its original model.
They make it very clear that if Marcus tries anything they'll turn on her but like honestly only Leo means it by this point. Leo is still highly suspicious (valid honestly) and its not helped by the fact that Marcus still does not care for his ass. But by this point I think both Donald and Tasha have grown attached because they've started to humanize Marcus and really sympathize with it. Marcus is largely confined to the house so they can monitor its behavior before they let it out, especially before they let it interact with everyone else.
Eventually they'd take her to the Elite Force and she's obviously met with hostility and suspicion but I think the Mighty Med crew would show it some grace. She's mostly just hanging around and making highly passive aggressive comments at Douglas. I don't think she would leave because even if she promises not to kill anyone it definitely is not going to make Douglas's life easy. She needs to make sure that Douglas eventually sees her as a person. It won't settle for any less. She needs to know that Douglas's decisions will keep him up at night. That he won't ever be able to live with and recover from the guilt that he killed his child.
Misc.:
1. Marcus definitely becomes fast friends with the Mighty Med crew, but especially with Oliver and Skylar. Skylar because I think they would bond over the android and alien thing and Oliver because of the parental issues obviously.
2. Oliver HATES Douglas after learning everything no question. I think he would be the only one to truly understand and connect with Marcus over this.

MINI MENACE ERA: COLLEGE KIDS
I have a part two that I’ll add to a reblog of this sometime, but here’s the first part for their college days! I couldn’t draw everything I wanted to, so more blabbering and elaboration under the cut!
Since this AU has turned into a fanfiction based off the concept art, the characterizations and roles of the characters can be pretty detached from canon- so just a disclaimer for that. Canon is merely a suggestion- and I’m not listening to it most of the time.
Their majors:
Sabine Cheng: fashion/ business
Pia Lahiffe: education
Nathalie Sancoeur: business/ economics
Otis Cesaire: environmental science
Gabriel Agreste: fashion/ art history
Emilie Sphinx: fashion/ performing arts
Amelie Sphinx: business/ economics
Andre Bourgeois: law/ (later) education
(Tom Dupain works full time at his dad’s bakery)
SUMMARY (and some extra details) OF THE HEADCANONS DRAWN: (since I am too lazy to do my full transcript tonight)
Sabine and Pia have been best friends since they were 13. Pia knows she’s Ladybug, and the two work together at Master Fu’s shop.
Pia knows that Fu has the turtle miraculous and makes sure he’s not overworking himself in his superhero retirement.
Sabine’s an open book with her emotions, doubly so when she was younger in college. Her fuse is short, and she’ll say one of her flaws is her pettiness.
Andre is the estranged son of a corrupt politician that works with Richard Sphinx. His dad originally paid for his tuition (to keep Andre away from him) but eventually cuts that off when he officially disowned him.
He and Audrey met like once at a social event years ago. Andre does not remember this, Audrey does but only because she thought his suit was so fucking ugly.
Audrey is the daughter of a Pergue (Sphinx’s company) investor. She eventually gets an ultimatum to get married, or else all her cards and cash get cut off.
Remembering “Ugly Suit” Andre has recently lost his dad’s tuition money, she asks him to marry her in return for her paying for his school. Andre becomes a trophy wife on paper, and the two never get closer than that. She writes his checks, he doesn’t get into scandals- easy!
Gabriel’s dream was to have his own atelier and specialize in lace products. His designs really push the limits of lace and beadwork. (He’s a huge nerd.) He never wanted a big brand.
Emilie has a crush on him and tries to talk to him often. Gabriel is conflicted between talking to the pretty girl in his class and interacting with the daughter of the enemy.
Emilie dresses eccentrically. Half of the time it’s costumes for theatre events, and the other half is her own style. (You can never tell which is which though- she’s always dressed like a time traveller.)
Otis is in the same econ class as Sabine and befriends her (Nathalie and Emilie are also in that class but they don’t interact with Otis or Sabine) and mentions her to Tom as a “girl he’d like.” Tom insists that’s what Otis says about every girl with a bob and a fringe.
Tom first sees Sabine that same day bursting in the bakery to ask for cookies while in a frenzy. Otis says it is the calmest he’d ever seen her.
Amelie has a huge crush on Nathalie, who is an intern assistant for Richard Sphinx. She refuses to act on her crush…as Amelie anyways ;)
MISC HEADCANONS FOR COLLEGE MM ERA:
Sabine, Pia, Otis, Andre, and Gabriel are the group for the longest time. They’re not all that close to the Sphinx twins in the beginning, but they get integrated into the group once Gabriel and Emilie start dating
How they all met/ some dynamic notes:
Sabine and Pia were childhood friends
Tom and Otis were friends since in high school
Tom befriended Andre when he became a regular at the bakery
Sabine met Gabriel and Emilie in their shared fashion courses
Amelie and Nathalie have so many common classes bc of their shared majors
Sabine, Pia, Otis, and Andre would study and hangout at the bakery, Tom would feed them
Sabine and Otis are the outspoken ones in the group, they bond over complaining.
Everyone admires Tom’s boundless optimism, the freebie baked goods are just a bonus
Andre and Sabine are unexpectedly close. Her rough, and oftentime bad, jokes get both of them to laugh until their stomachs hurt. No one else finds them funny, but they find the twos’ laughter contagious.
Gabriel and Pia like to work in silence together, they’re both grateful someone else favors a more quiet setting to focus
Sabine is originally intimidated by Emilie’s enthusiastic and extroverted nature, but they eventually bond over fashion designs even before the Sphinx twins join the group
MISC CONT:
Sabine’s designs are more conceptual and abstract, often trying to emulate feelings or experiences. Can seem a little scrappy to some, but sturdy compositions. She also thinks about ways to integrate her pieces into performance art works.
Gabriel’s designs are based on pushing technical craftsmanship, mostly detailwork. The pieces can seem fragile or delicate because of their meticulousness. They usually have some historical influence, but don't look for accuracy.
Emilie’s designs show off her theatre inspirations, and are often very costumey in nature. Similar to Gabriel, she enjoys historical influence, but isn’t as detail oriented as him. She favors exaggerating the historical features of costumes and playing around with silhouettes.
Amelie often “runs into” Nathalie while she’s out patrolling as Chat Noir. The two get closer when she’s transformed, and Nathalie develops a crush on Stray.
HOW THEY GOT THEIR MIRACULOUS (and reasons for fighting Pergue):
Sabine Cheng: got from her late grandfather when she was a teenager. Fights for revenge for his death and the other victims of Sphinx’s crimes.
Otis Cesaire: got it from an old mentor. Hates Pergue’s monopoly of businesses and services.
Gabriel Agreste: found brooch in his great-grandmother’s sewing box. Believes that Sphinx has the other half of a missing tapestry of his great-grandmother’s.
Emilie Sphinx: got the broken peacock miraculous from her dad. Works for Sphinx when transformed.
Amelie Sphinx: got it as a family heirloom from her mother before she passed. Wants to see her father fall.
Andre Bourgeois: his paternal grandmother gave it to him. Wants to expose the corrupt politicians and investors like his father that collaborate and fund Pergue.
Tom, Pia, and Nathalie do not have miraculous

Question: I notice on your Deltarune posts you focus on a lot about relationships and gender roles and such. May I ask why exactly? Just curious as to why find this aspect of this game so particularly interesting? Is there anything else you find interesting about DR?
well. first of all yes I find many other aspects of DR to be interesting lmao. the discarded vessel, the conversations ralsei and kris have when the player isnt looking, the dreemurr-holiday family split, anything surrounding dess, the connections to undertale, what gaster's goals are, susie's potential, kris's whole everything.... but as I've said before, I don't really like making predictions outside of themes and character dynamics. and I feel that for most of these things, I don't have enough information yet to really dig my teeth in analysis-wise, or else I don't have anything interesting to say that hasn't been said already.
as for why I fixate on the theme of gender so much.......
it just happens to be a theme I'm extremely drawn to and interested in
idk if I've ever vibed with a single character as much as I do noelle. it's like she and all her aesthetics were made for me specifically to love. and noelle is..... at least given the context of the weird route, she's kind of a girl of all time? not just in terms of being a great character, but her position represents femininity in fiction to me in the same way as like, rei ayanami or anthy himemiya. she's very much herself but in the eyes of the narrative and the viewer she becomes every girl to ever live. she's turned into a symbol. all girls are like the rose bride. there's just already so many layers and so much to analyze about it- not just from the game itself but how the audience receives and reacts to the game.
I'm a woman
my absolute favorite genre of video games is JRPGs from the 90s and 00s and let me tell you something about that. I could name more games that I have stopped playing after getting hours in specifically because the way they handled their female characters pissed me off so much, than games that I've come out of feeling like the girls were written at all fairly. how women are written in this genre, and in fantasy at large, is something I already thought about all the time. and deltarune is very much based on games like that! it's not the only thing deltarune is based on but it's the thing I personally have the most experience with. and given what we've been presented with so far, I actually feel pretty confident, for the first time in my life, that deltarune is going to continue to do right by its female characters and have interesting things to say about women in JRPGs, video games, fantasy, and fiction in general, if only in the abstract. it's something I've been dying to see done well specifically in this setting, this genre, and this medium for years. and I'm gonna revel in that as much as I can.
......writing this I forgot that you also said "relationships" and not just gender roles lol but that answer's a lot simpler. I just love watching and writing character interaction. and again, it's something I can iterate on a lot despite not having the full picture yet. it's fun and cool.
#asks#I could honestly dive almost as deep into how certain parts of the fandom treat boys#I know my art gets reposted on reddit and I see what people say about ralsei and berdly there#I feel I have to do more research though. as I am neither a boy nor transgender and those two things intersect a lot here

Shuake & Komahina and their similar important dynamics
Someone on strawpage on twitter asked "I saw a hot take on my TL that AkeShu fans make-up their dynamic and has little actual canon basis and I need to know your thoughts" and I thought the best way to say that I disagree with that wholeheartedly was compare shuake to kmhn LOL so here that is. I wanted to post it here too cause it's more easily consumable.
Shuake and komahina plays out is in very similar story beats. they both follow the same baseline which is the matter of understanding each other. while of course different, it follows -> nice charming guy front -> something happens to reveal the facade and the way they interact with the protagonist changes -> the big ending to it all.
The thing that stays consistent no matter what goro/nagito does is that the protagonist wants to understand them and cares about them as a person despite everything they know. Both protagonists experience betrayal with the other.
These characters are character foils to the protag, which pretty much automatically puts their story and motivations relying on the protagonist to progress their story. their stories are built off of one another and are a fundamental importance to both characters and the plot. From this, their dynamic is easily obtained through the player, and their relationship becomes a major part of the story and the protagonist's motivations.
I mean, the whole first plot twist in persona 5 wouldn't be possible without knowing what we did about Akechi's and Ren's relationship. A lot of plot is driven off of Akechi's viewing of Ren and how their justice collides. The player also retains the information on both of these ships in similar ways. That being, optional justice confidant and optional free time in DR. Confidant rank ups + Free time is like the #1 way to get to know the character better but it's up for the player to decide. getting a "canon basis" for them both can change based on the experience you have in the game.
But there is a fundamental layer of what they are despite doing them or not because once again, the story would not progress without their relationship.
I also want to say that "filling in the blanks" is a literary device and not a failure of writing. Whether it is a book or a show or what have it, good things will make the audience fill in the blanks, aka, infer what's happening or what the story is telling you not directly. Like we can infer that Ren thinks about Akechi in the time between 11/20 and third sem more than we are shown, due to his actions in third sem and his thoughts after the engine room. we can infer that Hajime thought about Nagito more than shown due to how he acts in the last trial.

so it is less "making up" their dynamic and more so just thinking about them in a way the story actually is giving us in a "show don't tell" way.
another similarity is that both of the pairs interactions are just a smaller part of the 100 hour games (despite them overlooming the narrative entirely) due to the fact it's a video game, fandoms of both have their "top tier" quotes, sort of say, lol. Quotes that are a few dialogues here and there but reveal a lot. It's simply just a different media consumption and how shipping works.

TLDR no I don't think its fair to say they have little canon basis/everything is made up when the protag/antag role of the ships is a huge part of the narrative/their interactions reveal a lot in general/we can infer things from the story based on the way the characters act. they are IMPORTANT!

Let's talk about writing dual POVs.
Writing a novel with a dual point of view where two different characters share the role of narrator can add depth, tension, and complexity to your story, but it also comes with its own set of problems and challenges. Like, how do you ensure clarity between perspectives? How do you keep both characters engaging? And most importantly, how do you make both narratives feel like parts of the same novel instead of two separate stories? Here are some tips and strategies to consider, before and when writing.
1. Ensure both POVs are necessary.
A dual POV should serve the story, not exist just because it seems interesting. Before committing to this structure, ask yourself:
Could the same story be told just as, or more, effectively from just one perspective?
Do both characters bring viewpoints that are unique and essential to the plot? What does this character’s POV add that we wouldn’t get otherwise?
Does each POV contribute to the novel’s themes, conflicts, or emotional depth?
Does it move the plot forward, or is it just there because I like this character?
If the answer isn’t an easy 'yes,' reconsider whether both POVs are truly needed. For example, in a romance novel, it might be better to only include one POV, since knowing there are feelings from both sides can take away tension and make it boring for the reader.
2. Choose a primary protagonist.
Even though you're going to be featuring two points of view, it’s essential to have one central character who anchors the story. This character serves as the thematic and emotional core of your book. Consider:
Which character’s perspective starts the story?
Which character’s perspective ends it?
Who undergoes the most significant transformation?
While both POVs should be compelling, having one clear primary character ensures your narrative remains cohesive.
3. Make each POV distinct.
Readers should be able to identify whose perspective they’re in without needing a chapter heading to tell them (although this is helpful and I do recommend including an indicator like this). You can differentiate this through:
Voice & tone: Their word choices, speech patterns, and internal thoughts should reflect their unique personalities. (See my post on character voices for more tips on this!)
Observations & focus: What each character notices and how they perceive the world will differ based on their backgrounds and biases. What details do they focus on? How do they process emotions? For example, a noble-born strategist will notice different things than a street thief. Sentence structure & style: Ties back to voice & tone—a poetic, introspective character might have longer, flowing sentences, while a blunt, action-driven character may have short, clipped phrasing.
**If you can open to a random page and easily recognise the character’s voice, you’ve done it right.
4. Interweave the two arcs effectively.
Both characters should have distinct yet interconnected arcs—even if they don't meet or interact until later on, or at all, their stories should be able complement or contrast each other in a way meaningful and comprehensible for the reader. Examples:
Parallel arcs: The characters face similar struggles but react differently (shows contrasts).
Intertwining arcs: Their paths cross at key moments & affect each other’s journeys.
Foil dynamics: One character’s success may mean the other’s failure—builds tension and stakes.
5. Smooth transitions
Switching between perspectives should feel natural, not jarring. Consider:
Consistent switching: Like alternating every chapter or at key turning points, or making one character dominant (the main focus) and the other occasional (slipping into it when necessary).
Strategic cliffhangers: Ending one POV on a suspenseful moment can keep readers engaged through the shift (though be careful not to make it so that the reader is skimming through one POV just to get to another).
Mirrored/contrasting scenes: A reveal in one POV can recontextualise a previous scene from the other.
6. Avoid head-hopping.
This is when you suddenly switch between characters’ thoughts in the same scene without a clear break. This can be jarring and pull readers out of the story.
Bad example: Lena glared at him. She was furious. Why didn’t he understand? Jonah sighed. He wished she would just listen.
You can't tell whose head we're in, and even if it was indicated at the start of the chapter, it makes it confusing and frustrating.
7. Build suspense
A well-timed POV switch can escalate tension rather than just pass the baton. Examples:
Character A is walking into a trap; meanwhile, Character B is on the other side of the city, knowing but unable to warn them (creates dread).
One character’s assumptions might contradict reality. (For example, a spy might believe their cover is intact, but another POV reveals they’ve been exposed.)
Character A misinterprets Character B’s actions as betrayal. Switching to B’s POV clarifies their true, but hidden, motives (creates emotional whiplash).
8. Deeper character exploration
Dual POVs can let readers experience both sides of a relationship, rivalry, or power struggle in ways a single POV can't. Examples:
Character A sees themselves as a hero, but Character B’s POV reveals their arrogance (unreliable narration).
Different emotional reactions—the same event might be tragic for one but a relief for another.
Common Pitfalls
Dual POVs might not always be appropriate for your specific narrative, and could:
1. Remove tension.
I briefly mentioned this, but one risk of dual POVs is reducing suspense, especially in genres like romance or mystery. If readers see both sides of a conflict, they might lose the uncertainty that drives engagement. However, you could try:
Using unreliable narrators
Keeping certain information hidden from one POV
Ensuring there’s still conflict and misunderstanding between the characters
Switching between past and present
Keeping one POV until the climax or for a specific plot twist, which can be revealed through a different POV
2. Break story flow.
If one character’s arc lags behind the other’s, readers may get frustrated when switching perspectives. Ensure each POV maintains momentum and contributes to the overarching plot.
3. Make readers favor one character.
If readers strongly prefer one POV, they may skim or disengage during the other. To avoid this, make sure both are equally compelling, both characters have stakes that feel urgent and meaningful, and each has their own distinct emotional arc that readers will be equally invested in.
4. Make it redundant.
If both characters are just retelling the same events with minor differences, the second POV becomes unnecessary. To avoid this, use POV shifts to enhance the story, not just repeat it. You can use the second POV to:
Show what’s happening when the other character isn’t present
Reveal secrets, misunderstandings, or unreliable narration
Build dramatic irony (let the reader know something one character doesn’t)
Happy writing!

Talking about every Invisible Davis / Queen Kat MCRP series that I've watched (non-spoiler reviews I guess)
There aren't enough people in the Invisible Davis / Queen Kat fandom who talk about their Minecraft series, especially with all the new fans coming in. So I'll talk about them and hopefully it gets more people interested in the series. Won't be every series because I haven't watched all of them, but it's a good chunk of them
If you've watched a series and want to add your thoughts on it, feel free to add on! If you haven't watched the series that I'll talk about, take this as a review/recommendation of sorts
Fairy Tail Origins (S5 Invisible Davis Studios)

Fairy Tail Origins is a multi POV series based on the world of the Fairy Tail anime, though it has its own original plots and characters so you don't need to watch the anime first. This is also the first series that Davis did with the OriginsMCRP group. This was the first MCRP series I watched from Davis and the Origins group in general, so it has a bit of a special place in my heart. TBH there isn't much of a plot for most of his POV, and I would personally say that I do prefer the stories of other POVs to his. However, the thing that really carries Davis' POV for me is the interactions between Davis' character and others. I love the found family dynamic he has with Betty and Damien, and to a lesser extent with his guild mates in La Carnival and fellow dragon slayer Bryan. Compared to most of the other series on the list, it's pretty chill, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have it's own interesting moments.
SCP (S1 Invisible Davis Studios + Queen Kat Productions [partway through], S2 Invisible Davis Studios + Queen Kat Productions)

The SCP series is, unsurprisingly, based on the lore of the SCP Foundation. As someone with little knowledge of SCP, I felt like they explained things pretty well here, so you don't need to do a huge deep dive just to understand this series. The premise of the series starts off with Davis as a D-class and Kat as a scientist in charge of experimenting on him, and that's all I can reveal without spoiling the main meat of the series. There are moments of action and horror (ngl the episode with the staircase definitely freaked me out a bit), though the character interactions are definitely a main draw for me, especially later on. Definitely a must watch, especially if you're into sci-fi. Kat's episode 1 of Season 1 lines up around episode 40-ish of Davis' Season 1 (because Kat started her POV much later). Currently Kat's Season 2 is over, and we have yet to see Davis' Season 2 finale (though it does seem to be something that is being worked on).
Otso and Derpy Adventures (S1+S2 Queen Kat Productions) + Toby's FNAF Adventures (Queen Kat Productions)

Otso and Derpy Adventures is about the titular characters, Otso and Derpy, who are siblings with interdimensional abilities. The best way I can describe this is like 75% crack humor and 25% lore and/or drama. One episode they'll be at the beach and Otso will bust out a flying bathtub, and in another they'll be arrested and put on trial for breaking interdimensional laws. It gets pretty meta, and ever once in a while Otso and Derpy will break the fourth wall or acknowledge that they're in a minecraft roleplay. Because of its nature as a series about hopping between dimensions, you'll see references to Kat and Davis' other works here, as well as references to Otso and Derpy in their other shows. There's also a lot of lore about the different versions of Kat and Davis across the multiverse and it gets surprisingly intense at points. Definitely a bit of a daunting series to get into, both because of the 400+ episode count and the references to other series. I personally wouldn't recommend this one if you're relatively new to Kat and Davis' content, I'd watch at least a couple other series before this one. But as someone who hasn't watched all of their series (including one of the ones referenced the most here), I wouldn't say that not getting all the references takes me out of it or anything. Especially in Season 2, it has enough of its own plot and lore to stand on its own.

I also added Toby's FNAF Adventures here as it is kind of an interlude between Seasons 1 and 2 of Otso and Derpy. It follows the younger brother of Otso and Derpy, Toby, on his own adventures that seem unconnected to Otso and Derpy until the finale. It's a very short watch, and the series was supposed to be longer but was unfortunately cut short due to low viewership. It's loosely based on the space portion of Bonnie's Adventures. Because of its short length and how it bridges Toby's character arc between Seasons 1 and 2 of Otso and Derpy, I do think that people should watch it if they're watching that series as well.
My Hero Origins (S1 Invisible Davis Studios, S2 Invisible Davis Studios + Queen Kat Productions)

My Hero Origins is a multi POV series made by the Origins group based on My Hero Academia. It follows the premise of a bunch of kids with quirks (superpowers) going to a school where they learn to be pro heroes. Davis' POV follows Davis as he balances schoolwork in the daytime and vigilante work at night (also gonna note here that MHO Davis was written with autistic coding in mind). The POV also includes one of the villain characters for this series, who is one of my personal favorites, both for his time as a villain and the voice Davis gave him. It's got a solid plot and characters, though I can't bring up MHO without bringing up the action scenes and cinematics. There are several throughout the series, since it is still a superhero series. There is an hour-long almost fully cinematic episode about 3/4ths of the way through the series, and it is genuinely one of the most impressive things I've seen created in minecraft. Would recommend this if you're into more action-oriented stuff.

Season 2 didn't do as well so it was cut short, though it may end up being revived in the future. It takes place a few years after MHO, now with only two POVs: Davis (who is trying to make it as a pro hero but has to deal with hero agencies that prioritize money and popularity over doing real good) and Kat (who is going to a college for pro heroes). I found it an interesting concept, and it genuinely is a shame that is wasn't finished. Whether you actually watch this one is up to you, I don't really like recommending unfinished series, but I still think it's still pretty solid for what we got.
Origins of Olympus (S3 Invisible Davis Studios)

Origins of Olympus is a multi-POV series based mainly on Greek mythology, but Seasons 2 and 3 include other pantheons as well. Despite the gripes I have with Origins of Olympus as a whole and its portrayal of certain cultures, the Mors/Xiphos POV by Davis is my personal favorite Origins series that he did. He has two POV characters here: Mors, the son of Thanatos, and Xiphos, whose identity I shouldn’t spoil. I have so many thoughts about Mors that I’ve already said here on this account, and though I’m not normally a fan of edgier or more morally reprehensible characters, I absolutely loved him (it might just be me though, he’s a pretty divisive character in the OoO fandom). Though I’m not as big of a fan of Xiphos, I think that the arc he has here is surprisingly pretty deep. Both characters’ backstories tie into events from Seasons 1 & 2, which Davis does not have a POV for, though as someone who watched Season 3 with limited knowledge of the other 2 seasons, I’d say they give you enough information to be caught up at the very least. There’s also Korina and Kat (both played by Kat) and Luchnos as side characters who are absolutely wonderful here, and I’ll talk about one of them a bit more later on. Also, shoutout to the cinematics in this series; there’s two big fight scenes that come to mind that are absolutely iconic, and the opening scene of the first episode is great at establishing exactly what kind of series you’re getting yourself into. I highly recommend this series.
Korina's Origin (Queen Kat Productions)

So I mentioned Korina back in the Origins of Olympus section; she gets her own series in the form of Korina's Origin. It explores Korina's backstory and her history with Mors, Thanatos, and Luchnos before the events of OoO Season 3. Out of all of the series that Kat and Davis have done so far this is one of my favorite, if not the top favorite, series of their that I have watched. It is very character and relationship focused if you're into that, and it is something I really enjoy about the series. I have talked about Mors and Thanatos and Korina at length on my blog, and that's because I find the characters and relationships so wonderfully complex and human that I always find something new to analyze about it. This is a series with a decent amount of moral grayness and decisions made by characters that you my not agree with, and I am living for it. Similarly to OoO, it is heavily based on mythology, though thankfully it keeps the focus narrowed to primarily Greek mythology (with occasional references to Norse and Egyptian mythology, probably because of the proximity of their pantheons). It does take a lot of liberties from the source material, such as changing which gods are related to each other (Kat has said this is to avoid the incest prevalent in Greek mythology, which is fair). Imo it does start slowing down a bit in the final 20-30 episodes, but it's not something that ruins the series for me. So overall, I absolutely recommend watching Korina's Origin. I would personally recommend watching Origins of Olympus before Korina's Origin for a bit more context, though you can still watch this one on its own. Also KO is probably gonna come back for Season 2 at some point so now would be a good time to start watching it.
Bonnie's Adventures (S1 + S2 Invisible Davis Studios)

I actually haven't finished watching this one. FNAF stuff isn’t usually my thing as I’m not really in the fandom, but I would recommend watching it anyways, especially since it’s one of the more popular series in Davis’ fandom (and gets referenced in other series a lot). It’s basically a rewrite of a FNAF forever series that Davis used to work on, and I think it’s fairly solid for what it is. I especially kind of enjoy the development of the relationship between Freddy and Bonnie, and how their different ideals affect that development. I should probably finish this at some point lol
Supernatural Origins (Invisible Davis Studios)

Supernatural Origins is a multi POV series that was surprisingly not based on the TV show, but instead on the general concept of supernatural beings. Davis' POV follows vampire hunter Isaac, his niece Willow, a vampire noblewoman named Lady Cecilia, and a vampire servant named Dimitri. The large amount of characters in a single POV gives the viewer a lot to follow, but all of them are connected in some way so it makes it a little less daunting. This is one of the series that unfortunately wasn't given an ending due to burnout/other constraints. Kinda sad that such an interesting series was never realized to its full potential, but thankfully these characters and some of their plot threads were reused for a series that we'll talk about later on. I do recommend watching it, but do prepare to be left on a bit of a cliffhanger.
Fairy Tail (Invisible Davis Studios)

Similar premise to Fairy Tail Origins, except it's only Davis' POV now, and basically it revolves around Davis joining a magic guild called Wolf Claw while trying to come to terms with and atone for his past, standard action-fantasy shenanigans occur. Though this Davis is basically the same as FTO Davis design and personality wise, this series is set in a completely separate continuity and mostly has different characters, and now Davis' character actually has a solidified story to follow. This is one of the series where Kat and Davis took a their characters from Origins and gave them their own series as a reboot of sorts. The plot here is a lot more solid, the characters are great (Astrid is a fave of mine), and the actions cinematics are amazing (though due to constraints that Davis mentioned they may not return as much in season 2, so cherish them here). Still keeps some of the found family aspects from FTO, but switch out some of the characters. Overall a solid watch that I would recommend.
Sword Art Origins (Invisible Davis Studios)

Basically a multi POV series that is based on Sword Art Online. Gonna be real with you all, I keep forgetting this one exists. Generally it was kinda bleh imo, but it was the last series by Origins before it officially disbanded so I kind of get it. For what little Davis made of this series, it had an intimidating villain and did a good job of setting up the stakes/plot. Don't really recommend this one because of how short and inconclusive it was, and also apparently there was stuff going on behind the scenes of this series that really hit the fan. But who knows? The characters might be recycled for a future series.
The Backrooms (Invisible Davis Studios + Queen Kat Productions)

Another short series, though at least this one has an ending. Basic premise is that this series' Kat and Davis get trapped in the Backrooms and try to escape. It focuses mainly on the horror of the entities in the Backrooms, though there's also some element of human horror in it (if that makes sense). Davis (the creator, not the character) himself isn't really a fan of how the series turned out. I think it's pretty alright for what it is, but otherwise don't have a lot to say about it. I recommend both POVs for being a short watch combined, if nothing else (and I really do recommend both POVs because Kat's version has the ending for both of them).
Undertale (Invisible Davis Studios)

This is a minecraft roleplay based on the hit indie game Undertale. The basic premise is that Davis, a park ranger stationed near Mount Ebott, catches Frisk as they are about to fall down to the Underground on their hundredth or so run of the game. As a result, the two of them fall down into the Underground together and become linked. Davis tries to find a way out of the Underground with Frisk while Frisk tries to speedrun Undertale without Davis getting in the way. It's a pretty unique concept for an Undertale AU imo, though sadly it was one of the series that got cut short. It fortunately does get a finale, though it is a bit of a controversial ending to some. I really like the little details here that tie things back to the game while changing things up due to the minecraft medium and events being from the perspective of Davis, such as how the fights are translated from the game to minecraft, Davis being unable to see save points but Frisk being able to interact with them, and the random comments Frisk makes that are references to the game text. I do personally recommend this if you are a fan of Undertale. Like I said before, the ending might not be for everyone, though it might be a bit more interesting if you have watched Davis' other series before.
FNAF Chronicle (Invisible Davis Studios)

FNAF Chronicle is an original FNAF project that takes elements from the games, movies, and books. This series' Davis becomes the new owner of the long abandoned Fazbear's location and the animatronics inside, but quickly learns there's more to them than meets the eye. Like I said previously, I don't care too much for FNAF stuff, but this series has me hooked. About half the episodes are crack humor and references to past series, while the other half is a mix of drama, mystery, and horror. I'd say that out of every series on this post that can be considered horror, this one does it the best. There are some jumpscares (which I normally hate), but they're used sparingly and most of the horror is done through the building of tension and mystery. The voice and body acting do a good job of getting across just how terrifying these situations are for Davis and the others. Plus the use of the humorous episodes is done in a way that gives you a break from the more intense aspects of the series while not being entirely detached from the plot. Definitely a good series to watch, and it's currently still in progress on Davis' channel.
The Vampire's Bride (Queen Kat Productions)

The Vampire's Bride is an isekai fantasy/romance story that also has bits of being a historical/fantasy political drama. In the first episode, after seeing TVB Kat be what can only be described as a failure at life, a portal pulls her into another dimension, where the vampire Lord Isvad declares her to be the reincarnation of his wife, Lady Kestrin. Aside from the romance between Kat and Lord Isvad, the series also goes into a lot of worldbuilding for this supernatural world and acknowledges that Kat's new role as a noblewoman is something that gives her both power over others and a target on her back. One of my favorite things about this series is the way that Kat is written. She has a lot of flaws and weaknesses that primarily come from being an outsider to this world (and not having much going for her in her previous life), but we follow her over the course of this series as she grows into this new role. Her growth into a strong woman who relies on her wits and relationship-building skills to survive in this world was really cool to see, especially since I feel like this type of character tends to be overlooked when it comes to characters that are considered "strong female characters". Also, this was the series I mentioned earlier that reuses the characters from Supernatural Origins. Isaac and Willow return, as well as part of their plotline for SNO, Lady Cecilia returns with a modified role, and Dimitri also returns. Glad to see that despite SNO not being able to have a proper ending, the characters can still have their story finished in some form (though do note that it’s still set in a separate continuity from SNO, so you don’t have to watch it to understand this). Definitely recommend watching this one, and it is still currently in progress on Kat's channel.

Black History Month Author Spotlight: Lapin
To kickstart the Black History Month Author Spotlight series, I'd like to introduce everyone to our first IF author, Lapin (@harlequinoccult)!
(I had a ton of fun reading Lapin’s answers, and I’m sure you will too! Read on for a celebration of ‘weird,’ Lapin’s Black southern gothic / horror influences, and how a D&D game could lead to interactive fiction!
Lapin, thank you again for your candid, humorous responses, I am very honored to have gotten to know you better :D)
Author: Lapin
Black creole and cajun, artist and writer, and wannabe game developer
Games: Slaughter Squad (Horror, Slasher, Romance)
Synopsis: YOU HAVE A HUNGER A HUNGER THAT YOU’VE BEEN NEGLECTING For the most part, you’re a pretty normal mid-20-something year old who lives in a shitty apartment in the city. Well, except for one thing. Your.....”Associate” Carter “Dollface” Abernathy. Who is a murderer, and quite frankly, a sloppy one at that. And you’re the accessory to his crimes. No matter what way you’ve gotten to know the man, or how you feel about him, you’re stuck with him, and stuck with just being his little “helper” ........Or are you? Especially when you’re suddenly given a....Unique opportunity.
Games: The Valley of Luck (Fantasy, Adventure, Romance)
Synopsis: The Valley of Luck was said to be a myth. Something that grandparents would tell their grand-kids around a campfire. Even those who worshiped Lucian, The God of Luck, thought it nothing but an old wives tale. Until, one day, a man with an arm made of solid gold started telling people that he'd been there, that he'd seen the Valley. Word spread quickly, and suddenly, every continent was alight with the rumor that The Valley was real, that it could give you all the riches you could ever want, and then some. However, your quest, whether related to The Valley or not, will lead you down a much stranger path.
Quote from the interview:
My upbringing was a bit odd. I am the youngest of three, two older brothers, one being a half brother, in a black military household… Middle school Lapin was a jock. But, lo and behold, the internet started getting more popular and that kid's brain exploded from internet exposure, for better and for worse. … I feel that there is a specific and niche demographic of people like me that were raised by early 2000s to 2010s internet. And on that era of internet, were creepypastas, online horror, early ARGs….I ADORED internet horror, which was my gateway into classic horror, funnily enough. Slaughter Squad, in my eyes, is a letter to that black kid that wanted to be weird. Be weird, be messy, see a fucked up movie, get more out of life.
Read on for the full interview!
Tell me more about yourself! What are some things new readers or long-time readers might not know about you?
Both parts of my family are 100% from Louisiana, New Orleans and the deep south. My moms side have been there so long, we have two streets named after us.
Can you tell me a bit about what you’re working on right now and your journey into interactive fiction? What inspired the game/story you’re currently writing?
My main project, of course, is Slaughter Squad. I love slasher movies and horror media in general. But what I always noticed with horror/romance, at least in the visual novel scene, is that the main character is nearly always the one getting screwed over, so I thought, well, what if the bad guys actually are your peers? How would this dynamic change if they don't see you as prey? I never thought that premise would appeal so much to so many but hey, I can't complain! I adore seeing people having fun with the silly little concept I had.
Now, my secondary project, The Valley of Luck. Some may not know this, but this story is based off of a D&D campaign I DM'ed back in the day with my friends. All the ROs are NPCs that my friends had, or where going to encounter. I won't lie, I did shy away from it and changed some things when the whole debacle with Wizards of the coast (the company that "owns" D&D) Where making some...questionable decisions. But this story is my baby. My first born. This one has been in the works far longer than SLSQ and has a lot of background lore that I hope I get the opportunity to share.
I do have a few other projects bumping around, One I am particularly excited for, But that one will have to wait a little bit~
How has your identity, heritage/background, upbringing, or personal experiences influenced your storytelling or writing process? OR How does your work feature aspects of your identity / experience?
My upbringing was a bit odd. I am the youngest of three, two older brothers, one being a half brother, in a black military household. I never felt that I truly had a sense of identity until that household inevitably split up. Everyone talks about being the weird kid in middle school, but no one mentions being the "normal on the outside but wants to be the weird kid so bad its painful on the inside but can't because you were told that stuff is 'white people shit' " type of kid.
Middle school Lapin was a jock. But, lo and behold, the internet started getting more popular and that kid's brain exploded from internet exposure, for better and for worse. I was a little shitter on the internet, I can't lie about that, as much as I want to. But I feel that there is a specific and niche demographic of people like me that were raised by early 2000s to 2010s internet. And on that era of internet, were creepypastas, online horror, early ARGs....I ADORED internet horror, which was my gateway into classic horror, funnily enough. Slaughter Squad, in my eyes, is a letter to that black kid that wanted to be weird. Be weird, be messy, see a fucked up movie, get more out of life.
What does your writing process look like? Any rituals or habits? Any tips, tricks, philosophies or approaches that have worked very well for you?
Let your characters speak through you like you're being possessed by a demon.
What’s the one thing you’re really proud of that you’ve written so far? Do you have a favorite character or scene that you’ve written?
I am so serious.
is it wildly inconvenient? yes. does it help your writing a ton? also yes. Doing Roleplay with friends is a fantastic way to learn to do this. being a DM for a D&D game has basically made it so characters can simply speak from my brain at any given moment. It's also annoying because some of these people do NOT shut up. Learning how a character would react on the fly does wonders for dialogue writing and character analysis. Roleplay with your friends, or hell, strangers who are down to clown that could become friends. Be cringe. be free.
I love the opening to Slaughter Squad and if you told me to rewrite it with a gun to my head I would tell you to shoot me. I love how punchy it is and it came out exactly how I wanted it to. I don't play favorites with characters (<- lying) but my two favorites to write are the stinky little bastard cat Sterling in TVoL and.....Carter, from SLSQ. I love writing complete bastards. One being lighthearted and gets a pass for it because he's just a kitty cat and the other you want to actively beat his face in with your bare hands. It's SO funny.
If you were to say one thing to your readers, other authors, and/or the interactive fiction community: what would it be?
Write. Write it now. Doesn't have to be good doesn't have to be polish all that matters is that you WROTE IT. All the bells and whistles can come later!!!! Stop thinking about the later and think about the now!!!! Write what you love and never give two shits about if it's cringe!!! Be excellent to each other!!!
Any books, music, movies etc. you’re obsessed with at the moment, or which changed your life (or perspectives on something)?
GO LISTEN TO CHROMAKOPIA BY TYLER THE CREATOR RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!
This-or-that segment: (bold = Lapin’s pick)
Coffee or tea?
Early mornings or late nights?
City or countryside?
Angsty or Cozy romances? (Or enemies-to-lovers or best-friends-to-lovers?)
Steady progress or frenzied binge-writing followed by periods of calm?
Summer or Winter?
First drafts or editing?
Introvert or extrovert?
Plotter or pantser?
Characters or plot first?
Lapin’s custom “this-or-that” pairing: Rain or Shine
More on Black Southern Gothic:
Black southern gothic can vary a lot, but when I think of it, I think of old semi abandoned wood shotgun houses in the swamp, all white tiny baptist churches where the white paint is peeling from the heat and humidity, riding horses down a dirt paved street while people still ride by in their old busted down 1960s chevys. Old plantation houses that have been reclaimed by the swamp. The dark, humid heat of the night on a street with no streetlights. Every house you see is absolutely haunted by something and not just ghosts. Voodoo and hoodoo is different than what people will tell you it is.
Sassafrass, Cypress and Indigo by Ntozake Shange, Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jessamin Ward, and anything by Toni Morrison 100%.

Rivetra was a tragedy of timing / Levihan was a tragedy of restraint

⚠️ hot take incoming ⚠️
If you can’t handle your fave ship being shipped with someone else, go ahead and keep scrolling. this post isn’t for you.
this is for the people who actually enjoy digging into the messy, layered dynamics in Attack on Titan's complicated and subtle relationship dynamics. the ones who don’t mind exploring the in-betweens and what-ifs, the subtext and the missing pieces that canon never fully spelled out.
So yeah. let’s talk about Levi, Petra, and Hange. buckle up.
I’m a hardcore Levihan shipper (and I strongly believe this to be canon, don’t fight me!), but if someone ever asked me if Levi had another possible love interest other than Hange—well, sorry Eruri fans, but no, it’s not Erwin. It would be Petra.
Wait, what? I thought you were Levihan for life???
Yes, and I always will be. But let’s not forget these characters are multi-faceted. They have layers—complicated pasts, subtle choices—and the plot itself helped mold them into who they became by Season 4.
Season 1, while tragic, still had a clearer structure. Titans = enemies. But as the story evolved and they reached the other side of the wall, the narrative shifted. The real threat wasn’t just titans anymore—it was the entire world, planning to erase the existence of Eldians. And that changed everything, including how our characters saw themselves, each other, and their purpose.
Levi and Hange were different people back then. Even if they were close, even if there was a bond, their dynamic wasn’t exactly what we saw later. (more on this in a bit.)
Let’s try to seal the intentional gaps left by the story—to stay in-character and to make sense of the subtle ways Levi’s relationships were presented in the earlier seasons.
A quick reminder of the timeline: by the start of Season 1, Levi was probably in his early 30s and had already been with the Survey Corps for around six years (based on ACWNR), which means he’d known Hange for at least that long. Petra, on the other hand, was relatively new—she’d been with Levi’s squad for about a month.
Now, when Levi and Hange were introduced in the manga, they were introduced side by side (like Eremika, hello?). Hange was teasing Levi about how if people only knew what a neat freak he was, they wouldn’t admire him so much. And right after that? The hair grab scene. Levi pulls her close and says “kokoda” in that deep, near-whisper voice—and the way it's animated, it’s clearly meant for her and only her. It’s intimate. (Mike literally looked tired of their shit. Iconic.)

Sure, this wasn’t in the manga—but the anime added it to emphasize their relationship. Let that sink in.
From just this small interaction, you can already feel the closeness. It even flirts with flirtation. Look at Hange’s eyes when she teases him—girl’s either crushing hard or just enjoying the chemistry. And Levi? Let’s not forget that he’s a clean freak and Hange… well, isn’t. So him pulling her that close? Look at how her hair scrunched from Levi’s hold. That’s not nothing.
Let’s be real: if I were Hange’s boyfriend and saw her “best friend” do that, I’d be flipping a table. So let’s simplify things—Levi and Hange were that pair. The two friends who swear they’re “just friends” while everyone around them silently suffers through their PDA. But no, they weren’t together during this time. They were simply them—deeply bonded, constantly orbiting each other, sharing laughs, rants, and quiet loyalty.
Now let’s talk about Petra.
Petra Ral was 19. Levi was around 31–32 (and still not fully aware of his Ackerman lineage). Yes, there’s a significant age gap, but this is just headcanon territory—trying to connect the dots the narrative left scattered.
Even if Levi wasn’t actively thinking of retirement or family, he was still human. And at that age, even the most closed-off people start wondering: What next? He probably didn’t have a detailed fantasy of domestic life, but maybe—maybe—he had moments where he thought about coming home to someone. Not someone romantic, per se, but someone stable. Someone who wouldn’t mind sharing tea in silence.
Now, Erwin? Out of the question. Levi knew he’d serve the military till death. Pixis-style. The next closest person was Hange. She was a confidant. The one who understood him without needing him to explain. She never judged him. She tolerated his harsh words. She knows him well.
…But she was obsessed with titans. She had purpose and obsession that extended far beyond Levi. Even if he wanted to offer her a quiet life, she wasn’t someone who could stay still for it. She needed freedom, curiosity, movement. And Levi—quietly—wanted that for her too. He wouldn't chain her to anything.
Then Petra entered the picture.
She was young, but she was also warm, kind, and clearly devoted to him. Levi noticed. How could he not? Petra worried about him—even though he was humanity’s strongest, this is evident is some scenes like in S01E09 where we first got a preview of Levi fighting.
Levi handpicked her for her skills, sure. But maybe also because of her balance—her strength and her care. Yams even said Levi thought Petra was cute. And when she died, Levi lingered. He stared.
Look at this picture, even in death, she was beautiful.
When Erwin died, Levi didn’t even take a keepsake. But Petra? He collected her patch, though he gave it to another soldier who needed comfort more. And when her father approached Levi in the street, talking about Petra being too young to marry, it was painful. Petra’s father had clearly misunderstood the letter she wrote—one where she declared her dedication to Levi. Not to the Survey Corps. To Levi.
In Petra, Levi saw a distant, fragile future. Not plausible, but… possible.
And that’s why he cared.
But what about Hange in all this?
I think Hange was the first to realize her feelings for Levi were more than friendship. All that teasing, the time spent together—come on, it was bound to happen. But Hange being Hange? She probably buried herself in her lab, blasting Heather by Conan Gray while dissecting a titan carcass (I’m joking… kinda).
The thing is, Hange’s smart. She’s observant. She probably saw the shift in Levi. She noticed the way he treated Petra, the stolen glances, the growing bond. And even though their bond (Levi and Hange’s) was stronger, she saw that Petra offered something she couldn’t: devotion without distraction. Petra had one purpose—Levi.
And Hange? She had a thousand obsessions. She probably told herself that Levi deserved someone who could give him time, stability, care. And she couldn’t. So maybe she quietly let him go.
Hange isn’t the typical “waifu” material. She’s not soft and kawaii—she’s chaotic brilliance, messy hair, explosions in the lab. Meanwhile, Petra was gentle, sweet, nurturing. The kind of person who'd write home about Levi. The kind of person Levi could come home to.
Hange, maybe, told herself Levi needed that. And she stepped back.
But here’s the thing: Levi couldn’t quite step back from Hange. Even if Petra represented a possibility, Hange was gravity.
He kept coming to her lab. He still sought her out. Even when he didn’t understand why. Even when she seemed to be moving on, fully immersed in her titan research.
When Petra died, that fragile possibility of a quiet future died too. And maybe Levi finally realized that he was never meant for “normal.”
After his injuries, he spent more time with Hange again. And guess what? That pull? Still there.
He starts asking for her attention. He pesters her. He picks her up from her lab, pretending it’s nothing. But it’s something.
And as time passes, especially after Erwin’s death, Levi and Hange lean on each other more. By Season 4, they’re inseparable. Partners in everything. Understanding each other without speaking.
And I believe—truly—that they only fully acknowledged what they felt from the moment Hange saw Levi broken and near-death… all the way to Hange’s sacrifice.
That’s what makes Levihan canon for me. Not in the loud, dramatic way. But in the slow-burn, unsaid, devastatingly beautiful way.
Star-crossed lovers. Never given a real chance. And that hurts. But it also fits.
Petra mattered. Her presence made Levi think about the future. She was part of his emotional evolution.
Hange? She was always there. The constant. The one person who knew Levi more than any one else, she took the time to know him, and in spite of Levi’s coldness, she stayed.
And okay—remember Hange had a thing for Keith Shadis? Yeah. Look at her type. Grumpy, brooding men who never smile. (Girl has a pattern.)
So even if the stories look different—Petra and Hange are vital to understanding Levi’s emotional core. They shape how he responds to grief, to love unspoken, to futures imagined and then ripped away.
Petra was an almost. And with Hange, he was finally sure. But by then, it was already too late.
Ps: Petra was beside Hange when Levi saw them in the mist. We can’t ignore that.

What do you think? Agree? Disagree? Let’s talk about it. Just don’t send hate—this is a safe space for headcanons and heartbreak.

Notes:
I’ll shut up now. Enjoy! And don’t be afraid to request.
Regular
Dorks <3 Beautiful loving and sweet dorks who are still able to have a level of flirting the likes of which the world unfortunately sleeps on
Hector and you are Chance’s favorite people to play G&G with, he will never say that in front of the others who play G&G with you all, but it’s true. Everyone is so great at the game and adds all sorts of great challenges, dynamics, and fun that keeps every campaign new and fresh. But Hector makes such great characters with such thought out and intercut backstories and personalities, and even some interesting traits of stats, race, and class combinations that gives Chance something solid to go off of but mailable enough to work with to make the game compelling. And then there’s you. You have your own unique abilities that you bring to the party, but you’re also just so stinkin’ great that he’s just happy to have you there in general. Same goes for Hector too of course
He is a fair GM though. There’s no blatant favoritism towards you and Hector during campaigns with others, but he does sneak in a little bit of flirting here and there. Not so much that it makes everyone else uncomfortable, just a quick little something.
“I’m gonna flirt with the guard to distract him from Mac’s character trying to sneak in.” “Okay. *Leans in* Hit me with your best shot.” *everyone laughs* “Just kidding. Roll.”
But yeah. Chance (just in general) is a great GM and let’s all of you have fun and do whatever you want. He loves a good homebrew so long as you run it by him first to make sure he knows and understands it so that he can plan accordingly. Hell, have matching characters too! That’s always fun for storytelling and adding things to the game
One time after the three of you watched The Last Unicorn together on a stay at home movie date, you and Hector created matching characters that were your own versions of Schmendrick and The Unicorn/Lady Amalthea (you can choose who was who but I love the idea of Hector being the Amalthea/Unicorn based character and you’re the Schmendrick based character) And Chance loved it SO MUCH
Speaking of fantasy and stuff like that, Chance’ love for fantasy based story telling and Hector’s interest in literature vaguely bleed together until they end up mixing into a developed love for fantasy literature. Chance isn’t really much of a big reader himself unless it’s a guidebook for campaigns, but he will take inspiration from things to help him create campaigns. So I do think that if there’s a book with fantasy stuff that has a concept that he thinks would be cool for a campaign then he will read it in order to study it
But he does also support you and Hector’s interests which means that even if Hector leans more towards romance and smut stories he still listens to him talk about them whenever he feels like sharing things that interest him, and maybe even adding them to his campaigns as a little easter egg/reference/treat for Hector. And same goes for you too. He listens to anything that you’re a huge nerd about and adds them in too just for you <3
Or Chance will just in general let both of you infodump to him about your interests since he loves it when you do that same for him
A lovely person who likes my Hanks x Hector x reader content made a reblog talking about the ren fair (realized ofc), which was great, but I also 100% think that the three of you so totally go too if we’re going down the realized ending route. And all three of you get all dressed up too and have a blast
You guys definitely could coordinate something so that your costumes all go together, but you’re also free to all have your own thing going on. But that’s so something that you guys could do
Chance and Hector are both such great boyfriends too, both to you and each other. They both love and admire you and your sense of personality, being yourself, and loving what you love, along with loving that in each other too
Hector thinks Chance is such an extraordinary person. He’s handsome, smart, creative, funny, and… very strong and… well sculpted. Hector sees a lot of what he wishes he could be in Chance, but instead of being jealous, he just ended up falling in love with him once they met. I actually think that once they developed a friendship, Hector actually develops a huge crush on Chance to the same likes as you and just quietly yearns just like he was for you
The polycule develop in whatever way you want it to. Either you and Hector are a thing first and then you start adding Chance, or you and Chance are a thing and then involve Hector. Because I know damn well Hector would be too nervous and scared about rejection if he tried to pursue Chance on his own
As for Chance, I think Chance would adore Hector for his passion for storytelling through his own stories and his own dorky-ness that he sees in himself too, along with his personality too. And I mean come on! Who doesn’t love sweet ol’ little Hector?
A bit random but Chance doesn’t like it when people ask to try on his glasses. But sometimes he will up them on you and Hector for fun. He’ll say something like “Hold onto these for me” and place them on you before coming back and saying “thanks” and putting them back on. He does it enough that whenever he says those words, you and Hector instinctively lean in so that he can put them on you
Gosh these two are just so sweet that it’ll just rot my teeth out!!!
(Post-edit, I just wanted to add some extra things without having to make a whole other part)
Cuddling is 10/10 top tier! Like I said, Chance has nice strong arms. Not to mention he’s got two so he can cuddle both you and Hector at the same time but putting and arm around each of you and you guys leaning in and cuddling onto his side.
It’s a bit less optimal when it comes to sleep because Chance would have to be on his back, which might suck if he wanted to spoon specially. But while sat on the couch watching tv/a movie or doing your own things? That’s great! He especially loves it while watching something because you’ll all be extra cozy with the addition of a blanket and snacks
Hell, like that you guys can even cuddle in different ways. One of you can be laying down on the couch with your head in other’s lap while the other cuddles up to the said
Granted, cuddling can be separate if one of you isn’t feeling it that day
Chance prefers being big spoon, but wouldn’t mind being little spoon every now and again. Meanwhile Hector is the other way around. He likes the feeling of being held as little spoon but could be big spoon if needed
NSFW (leave now if you want!)
I’m not sure where to start first. Hector simping for Chance, or them simping on you? (I’m gonna roll for it)
Okay I rolled a D4 (Odds for Hector, Evens for you) and rolled a 3 so object yaoi it is
Chance would be so proud
Okay so anyways, about that comment earlier about Hector admiring Chance for being strong and “well sculpted”. Yeah he’s had some dirty thoughts about that, many times
I mean the whole fanbase who loves Chance have already said so many things about how beefy he is and all that, and I’ve seen plenty of people drawing him with some real nat 20s if you catch my drift. So obviously Hector has had those thoughts too because he is canonically a horny little freak and is very capable of having very intense sexual fantasies that plague him
TLDR: There is no doubt in my mind that Hector has totally masterbated to the thought of Chance’s muscular arms and anything else he might have caught sight of in the relationship and had various fantasies before they reached the stage where they actually had sex for the first time
I can totally see Hector finding an excuse to touch Chance’s arm or chest like brushing something off or holding onto him while you three cuddle while watching a movie
I also think that there was a time where Chance picked Hector up a bit or did something that demonstrated that Chance was strong enough to pick or maneuver Hector any way he wanted and it rewired Hector’s brain chemistry
Hector holds onto it for a long time though, even after they start having sex with each other until Chance himself realizes that Hector seems to have reaction to whenever he does something like hold him or anything like that both inside and outside of sexual encounters. Either through the temperature rising if they’re still objects or through a change in body language if they’re realized. And Chance acts accordingly.
Again, Hector was talking BIG TALK in those vents but I know what he is. I know he’s a sub and has the ability to top like a house of cards has the ability to withstand a gust of wind! The moment Chance or you act remotely in charge of anything, Hector crumbles like a de la Rosa mazapán!!!
So Chance will throw in a little something like (gently) pushing Hector down into the bed with just the right amount of strength to keep him from moving too much. Or if Hector is riding him, Chance will put his hands on Hector’s hips to make him go at the pace he wants him to
Chance is never too rough or uses too much strength though. He knows his strength. He always carefully calculates the right amount to use on you and Hector for it to be sexy for you
Chance is a freak himself though and will definitely play into it like politely manhandling Hector and you, if you’re into that, and maybe even doing the headlock thing during sex from the back if he’s feeling extra confident and he knows you like that
I feel like in general, Chance is typically down for whatever as long as he knows you (and Hector) are into something as long as it doesn’t cross any of his own boundaries. He can bottom or sub if you want to. But I feel like he mostly falls under the spectrum of a soft dom that could also serve as a service top if you squint. Like, he likes to be in charge, but he’s in charge for your pleasure and will do what he knows turns you on and gets you going
Again, doesn’t actually want to hurt you. But if you want him to be a smidge rougher and do whatever he wants you don’t have to tell him twice
And same goes for Hector
All three of you is whatever but the two definitely have their favorite scenarios that you three do
Hector likes service topping for the both of you at the same time or having the both of you at the same time. I think Hector still has that “I do everything for you” type of mentality and so he lets you treat him like a toy and thing to get you both off. But sometimes you and Chance team up to give him what he wants (because Hector deserves it for being so good)
*cough cough* sandwich him *cough hack* Sorry, I don’t know what that was. I had a tickle in my throat.
Chance likes doing his soft dom thing with you and Hector, where you two are all over him. But feel free to do something to him too if you want
You and Hector gave him head at the same time a couple of times and he genuinely had to focus on not busting too fast so you guys could keep going
And it’s whatever you want too babes, just tell them what you want
Whatever way you guys do it, in any way, it’s always a good time and you all come out covers in hickeys kiss marks
You have no clue where the lipstick came from but it adds to the aftermath
Aftercare is so funny though because after he catches his breath Chance just goes “So, do any of you guys want any water or snacks?” like you guys are taking a break between a campaign. It’s so funny and sweet
Chance is actually really good at aftercare. Very tender and sweet

i keep telling myself i'm gonna make this post and then i don't but i think the world is ready for it. so here we go
why i think susie and berdly could make good friends
i've thought this since before the most recent chapters but i think the characterization we get from susie (and berdly a little bit) in the newest chapters further solidifies my thoughts on why these two could have an interesting dynamic. this post is largely due to my annoyance with people leaving berdly out of lightner group dynamics but i'm going to hone in on these two specifically because i think the other two have a much more cut-and-dry dynamic. but this one's a little complicated!!! in a way. i'll get there.
first point:
susie and berdly have similar backstories
probably the most obvious thing here but these two have similar histories. susie's the new kid, having frequently moved around in her life and somehow ending up here for this part of highschool. she is ostracized, as she directly states that people only became friends with her as a joke, and people are largely scared of her (likely due to personal prejudice). she wants to have friends, she wants to be liked, but people look past her or avoid her outright. she is really, really lonely. this parts mostly speculation but it can be assumed based on how frequently she moved, the state of her room (which we see in the bit where ralsei explains how darkners and the dark world works), and the fact that when toriel instructs her to call her parents she just doesn't, that her parents are poorer and don't really care where she goes or what she does.
berdly's story is a little different but largely hits the same points. he is self-described as a "forgettable little bluebird" that only really had noelle as a friend, and even then it is Vague how well these two were friends prior to the spelling bee. but by his own admission he definitely didn't have A Lot of friends, which is only further exacerbated once he wins the spelling bee and develops his coping mechanism of self-superiority. this is pure speculation but if you extrapolate from his dynamic with queen and the fact that queen is meant to represent noelle's mom (but i take it further and assume she is also meant to represent Berdly's parent) it can be assumed that he also doesn't have parents who give a fuck about him, outside of grades (since he harps on that the most). i think it's also worth noting that we only see berdly in public places (school and the library) and his house is not shown on the hometown map, which isn't new because neither is susie's but i think the fact that the two characters with questionable relationships with their parents don't get their houses shown is Certainly Something.
so both these kids are lonely, socially awkward teens who want friends. does this mean they have to be friends with each other? not necessarily, but i think further thought on them is worth having!
second point:
these two are definitely capable of being civil
berdly's crush on susie will largely be ignored because i don't think this is something he genuinely has and will shed once he has the realization that he is, in fact, not looking for a lover but for a friend. but these two Do work together in chapter 2! and as much as susie kinda dislikes being the one to do it, she Is the person to give berdly the peptalk needed for him to realize that it's okay for him to make mistakes. berdly's interaction in chapter 4 in the library is another thing that i think points to them being capable of friendship. berdly kind of keeps up the air of not liking kris and susie, but it's obvious he is questioning it. susie kind of brushes him off (basically saying "we can go if you don't want us around") but she isn't outwardly hostile to him or shows any signs of truly disliking him. i think post chapter 2 she has learned to tolerate him, while berdly is stuck between wanting to change and not being sure how exactly to do it. my hope for future chapters is that berdly's realization that That Wasn't A Dream will kickstart his "redemption arc" (he doesn't need this but it's the easiest way to say what i'm trying to get at). berdly is annoying but, famously, everyone is pretty tolerant to it.
last point:
i think their dynamic potential is neat!
these two fascinate me so much. susie largely does not put up with bullshit, hates being kept in the dark, and is steadfastly loyal to those she considers her friends. berdly is cocky, is a bullshit spewer constantly, and is ALSO steadfastly loyal to those he considers his friends. berdly wanted to create a dark world FOR NOELLE. because he thought it would make her and him happy. he was willing to do all that just for a friend. and it goes without saying that susie has also done some crazy shit for her friends. she goes through the trouble of repairing tenna (if you get all the recruits) and she often throws herself into danger to protect kris and ralsei. these two have the recipe to make the most annoying rivals-but-they're-actually-besties dynamic the world has ever seen!!!! you think berdly's rivalry with kris is a lot? imagine how much he would butt heads with SUSIE. the two would argue every day for forever, but at the end of it they're still going to hang out because they're pals! susie is a great match for berdly because she isn't afraid to challenge him on his outlandish shit, and when he takes it a step too far she will always be there to pull him back and tell him off. the two have the potential to rub off on each other in very fascinating ways (berdly learning to let loose a little more and susie learning how to harness that ego). i also think they'd make great study buddies :-) susie is smarter than she lets on, and i think berdly would really enjoy having someone other than noelle to learn from (those study sessions would get derailed so fast tho Make No Mistake)
in conclusion: consider the berdly-susie friendship :-D
i think by the end of this game we will see these two becoming friends. i wholeheartedly believe this. but until that happens i want people to explore these two more genuinely!!!!! don't just make berdly the butt of a joke--INVOLVE HIM!!!! HE HAS FRIENDS DON'T SHUT HIM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and consider the endless possibilities for these two being pals
okay thank you goodbye <3

I rewatched drv3 and I want to say that I don't dislike Saiouma nor Shuichi at all, -quite the opposite, really!!- but I hate that the basis for it seems to be the mistranslation of Kokichi deeming Shuichi "trustworthy" when in the og game he labels him with "stay catious", which is the OPPOSITE of trustworthy.
Of course he'd be suspicious of a detective being put into a murder mystery killing game, he thought Shuichi was the mastermind! It's such a turn off whenever the "trustworthy" thing is mentioned in fics because it doesn't make any sense: It's not like they had many positive interactions together that would justify Shuichi somehow being trustworthy- at best there's the time Shuichi bandaged Kokichi's finger (basing it all on that would be too emotion driven for someone as logical as Kokichi), at worst there's when Shuichi left Kokichi's concussed ahh to wobble off screen.
(Unrelated, but why do people write Kokichi SOLELY thinking of Shuichi on his deathbed, rather than DICE? He suspects DICE isn't real but in his mind that's his family and always has been. People idly mention Gonta too occasionally, but aside from the guilt of getting him killed, Kokichi would think of Gonta more, bc they were actually friends and were often seen hanging out.)
Also the way Kokichi's arc ends with Shuichi deciding there was nothing to Kokichi but lies hurt sm like WDYM? Kaito may have omitted some things, but he still spelled the answer out for you, detective. (He figures it out later when going into Kokichi's room though so it's not a big deal but STILL💔💔)
I just wish saiouma fics weren't so centered on, well... A lie. There's still plenty of ways to develop them together, even without the trustworthy label! I like their ship, to an extent, and I believe it can be done well while staying true to the og game, but so many things about them seem to be taken at face value rather than truly analyzed. Their dynamic would be more interesting if it stayed true to them, and if both of their flaws were acknowledged, as well as the mind games there could be with Kokichi suspecting Shuichi.
Crazy how the localization also fucked up Kokichi's relationship with Kaito (for example, in ch 2 in the og Kaito tells Maki to let Kokichi go or he'll die, while in the english ver he tells her to let him go or she'll die; end of ch 5, og Kaito says "He was a liar to the core", rather than "he was a lying sack of shit" ) and Gonta (in the og it was more clear Gonta and Kokichi were scheming together in ch2, and that Gonta knew about the true purpose of the insect meet and greet; in general, Gonta is portayed in the english ver as a dumb caveman and I wish people wrote him by just making him talk formally but in the third person like he does in japanese, because it takes away from his character- and, by extension, Kokichi's)
I've read SO much fanfiction in this fandom, and the probability of me finding something that addresses the canon dynamics rather than the localization ones is lower than the chance of a meteorite coming to kill me on my birthday. What a shame.
I still love most things this fandom makes, so I guess this -the trustworthy thing- is just a pet peeve of mine.

Hi ^^ I know you don't do requests but idk if this qualifies as one, so feel free not to answer this if you don't want to BUT:
Since you put so much thought into analyzing ATEEZ when you write your fics, would you mind giving a brief rundown of where you think they fall on the dom/switch/sub spectrum?
omg great question and i do not mind at all!! thank you for asking~
thoughts on this can be found under the cut, but a little disclaimer at the top — i am only providing my headcanons, that doesn’t mean i’m right or that your interpretation of one of the members as something else is incorrect. i would say this mostly informs how i think they probably are and how i write their characters in my fic, but it definitely is just me playing around in the imagination sandbox please don’t take offense!
also when we talk dorm/sub/switch, i want to be clear that as someone familiar with actual bdsm dynamics, these terms are thrown around pretty liberally and far too often. by that i mean, someone who’s a little bossy during sex doesn’t automatically equal a ‘dom’ in the proper sense and may not be comfortable with that term. however, for the fun purposes of my fic and this ask, we’re going to explore theses terms with the idea that the members could have the potential for it, not necessarily that this is what they are actively doing / engaging in.
alright…… hard thoughts below for each member including headcanon, kink list, and what pet names you call him/he calls you. i’ll happily dive into more into any of the thoughts below, feel free to send me an ask.
one last note - i use the terms man, woman, fem presenting, masc presenting, etc. but i want to be clear i try to be very trans inclusive and queer inclusive in general. while i write the boys always in a relationship with a fem presenting reader because i am a cis woman, that does not mean i am saying they as individuals are heterosexual and only attracted to cis women. i have no idea, this is fiction, and i’d never presume their actual real life sexuality so strongly. however, i am more comfortable writing from my perspective, so if you see that in my work or in my headcanons below please understand it’s not to be exclusionary i’m probably just navel gazing a bit too much. in the pet names section i do stick to things like ‘good girl’ etc. that may imply sexuality but that’s mostly as a representation of my own writing canon.
hongjoong - switch, leaning dominant;
hongjoong to me is such a switch, but i think he takes naturally towards the dominant role. i think a lot of people mistake his demon line stage presence for like…. crazy hard dom though and i could not disagree more. i think he’s actually more the type to switch up based on his partner’s needs and wants, but most often and most comfortably fills a dom role. however, in this dom role i see him far more as a service dom or soft dom, i don’t think with what we know about hongjoong as a person and how he interacts with the world around him he would be much of a hard dom that actually wanted to inflict hard rules or even dip into sadism. the most i could see is when his partner is being bratty or when he’s playfully jealous he would spank a bit or use teasing words to get his partner to say something in response. i think all in all, he’s the type to want to make his partner feel good, but he enjoys being in control and would want to give his partner instructions as a natural leader in that way. he could give up control to the right person, but i just think that’s a little less natural for him.
kinks -> brat taming, praise and degradation used interchangeably, overstimulation, voyeurism, voice kink, guided masturbation, toys toys toys, exhibitionism (he’s putting the lush in you at dinner that’s all i’m saying)
call him -> baby, joong, sir (playfully, less strict), daddy (to tease him he’ll tell you to stop but you can see he kind of likes it)
calls you -> darling, baby, honey, love, gorgeous
seonghwa - switch, gender dependent;
seonghwa is so interesting to me because i feel like his potential suits the whole spectrum. i have written him many different ways and see him many different ways, and so often it feels right, he’s a true chameleon. that’s why i think he is a switch, but i’m saying gender dependent because i think he likely takes more naturally to one direction depending on the gender presentation of the partner he is with. no hard and fast rules here, obviously everyone is unique, but as a general rule i’d say that with women/fem presenting people he skews more dominant, and with men/masc presenting people he skews more submissive. that being said, exceptions exist and i could see him going either way on that sliding scale dependent on partner. i would say for submisssive he would be the type to service, begging to pleasure his partner and enjoying the total submission of that headspace, potentially even enjoying some elements of restraint or pain on himself. for his dominant side, i think out of anyone in ateez he has the true potential for hard dom sadist, though that would require a partner to match him in intensity. i think he would excel in role playing and slipping into a true dominant persona, controlling his submissive entirely (within the bedroom and perhaps a little outside it), and would be able to manage the intense dynamics of sadomasochism well from delivering pain to exploring limits to very tender aftercare.
kinks -> sadomasochism, impact play, breath play, sensory deprivation (blindfolds, headphones), restraints (of all kinds), guided masturbation/instruction, rough sex, throat fucking, breeding, lactation, heels, exhibitionism, voyeurism
call him -> baby, hwa, love, sir or master (for hard scenes), daddy/mommy (roleplay scenes specifically)
calls you -> jagiya, darling, love, angel, sweet girl, good girl, my baby, my babygirl, pretty thing, pet (for hard scenes), mommy (when he’s subbing or when he’s playing into breeding kink as a dom)
yunho - dominant, soft dom with hard dom potential;
first of all, this man is my ult bias and i could write a novel about this, i’m trying to restrain myself. if anyone wants unfettered yunho thoughts lmk…… but truly, and i will die on this hill, while the sub yunho agenda is cute i just do not buy it. this man is 100% dominant, it’s just a question of where he falls on that dominance scale. i think there’s a lot of evidence for this that i can get into in a separate post, but my headcanon is that he’s a classic soft dom at least as a baseline. he’s the kind of dom who considers himself a guiding hand to his submissive. he’s caring, thoughtful, always anticipating needs and clearing the path for his submissive, and in bed that means he’s providing all of the opportunities for his submissive to explore within the safe bounds of his control. however, with the right person i think he has the real potential to reach hard dom levels where he is experimenting with degradation, some amount of pain play (though i do think full sadism is a bit far for him), bondage and control, and playing with pleasure from a denial and overstim angle. he’s also very clearly traditional in many aspects, and while i am not sitting here saying that means he’s sexist (absolutely not) i do think that means he would be turned on by more traditional elements. i.e. his partner in skirts, heels, lingerie, etc. i think with the right partner that also opens up his ability to play with different kinks and dynamics that might fall into that like free use, breeding, etc.
kinks -> rigging/shibari, edging/orgasm denial, pleasure/overstimulation, praise, degradation, breeding and pregnancy, impact play (spanking), restraints (mostly body weight or ropes), free use, fingering (his hands are we fr), if giving head is a kink then consider him a wet pussy enjoyer this man has an oral fixation watch his tongue, omorashi, corruption, breath play, somno, cockwarming, size kink/size training, throat fucking
call him -> yunho, yunnie (when bratting), baby, babe, sir, daddy
calls you -> baby, sweetheart, babygirl, good girl, pretty/pretty girl, pup/puppy (this is self indulgent don’t look at me), all variations with ‘my’ i.e. my pretty girl
yeosang - dominant, pleasure dom/service dom;
yeosang to me is such a sleeper dom. i think he’s hard to read in general, but after years of paying attention to him as i tried to write him, to me he really reads as more of a dominant in a sexual relationship, but definitely from the pleasure/service side of things. i don’t know that he would want to really control aspect’s of his submissive’s life outside the bedroom or perceive himself necessarily to be some kind of guiding figure or punishing figure, but i do think he would relish in giving his submissive pleasure and relief. i think yeosang would want to be the type of partner his submissive could just collapse into at the end of the day and receive whatever kind of care they need. he’s quietly making tea, he’s reminding you to drink your water, he’s easing you into bed with a massage and letting you forget the day as he takes care of you completely. i think in some extremes that leads to him not even really thinking about his own pleasure, he seeks to service his partner and that alone makes him happy. i can see him being the kind of dom who teases a little, but from a kind angle, and just knowing how soft and innocent ateez members perceive him to be, i don’t think there would be much room for meanness or pain with him.
kinks -> edging (cutely), overstimulation / pleasure play, lots of toys with him, guided masturbation / instructions, voyeurism, lingerie, heels, nylons, cockwarming, nipple play, body worship, oral (giving)
call him -> baby, yeosangie/sangie, yeo, sir (when he’s guiding)
calls you -> baby, sweetheart, my love, my girl, honey
san - dominant, soft dom, pleasure lean;
this man is a giver. i cannot express this enough, which is why i added the pleasure lean. i actually think he’s quite similar to yunho in the sense that he’s rather traditional, and within the bounds of at least a het relationship, would take his position as the man of the relationship very seriously. yunho and san both are the types of guys who would spoil their partner, and like being the caretaker, however i think in san’s case he would enjoy the pleasure angle far more than anything else and would not be comfortable with engaging in harder aspects of play with his partner. i truly think if you watch the way he caretakes it’s much softer, and if you listen to the way he speaks about women it’s far more from the angle of protector. my gut says you’d have to convince this man to spank you, so just naturally he falls into the soft dom role of guiding hand plus pleasure dom where he’s focused heavily on delivering pleasure and guiding his submissive through that pleasurable experience. i think he’s the type to set up a really romantic scene - rose petals on the bed, warm bath, champagne, etc. and just worship his partner for hours on end. he of course is going to fuck his partner eventually, but good god does he want to just spend so long touching and massaging and getting every little ounce of pleasure out of them first.
kinks -> body worship, oil/wax, pleasure/overstimulation, breeding, praise, anal, if fingering is a kink he’s got it he wants to see you squirt, cuckholding, voyerism, exhibitionism (light, the thought someone might hear not see necessarily)
call him -> sannie, san, baby, daddy (when the time is right)
calls you -> jagi/jagiya, yeobo (when married), honey, love, darling, sweetheart, my babygirl (casually, cutely), my girl, my wife, etc.
mingi - switch, gender dependent with a sub lean;
mingi… mingi… mingi. this man is such a mystery and yet wears his heart on his sleeve. similar to seonghwa i say he’s a switch but it kind of depends on the gender presentation of his partner. i think you can see this in the ways mingi interacts with the world. with women in general i see him turn on the swagger, and lean at least on the surface a bit more dominant, i could see him slotting into the role of taking the lead quite easily. with men, particularly with yunho though, you can see that he gets much softer, whinier, giggly, and truly has the potential to be submissive. my real guess is that he is a submissive leaning person regardless of gender, but it comes more naturally to him with a man (especially one as obviously dominant as yunho), that being said, with the right female/fem presenting partner, i think he could easily be submissive there too if that partner was properly leading the situation. i could see him being the begging type, pleading with his dominant to service them, and happy to really let himself sink into that headspace. but if he’s with a partner that needs him to step up and take the lead, i think he’d happily do that too which is why i think he’s very switchy.
kinks -> body worship, impact play (spanking specifically), throat fucking (giving and receiving), sensory deprivation, anal, oral (ride his face), lactation, humiliation
call him -> baby, babe, sweet boy, good boy, baby boy, and any variation with “my”, plus we all know princess is in there.
calls you -> babe, cutie, sweetheart (rare, if he’s feeling mega tender), goddess (when subbing), mommy (when super subbing)
wooyoung - true switch;
this man is the switchiest switch i’ve ever seen and i cannot accept anything less. he’s such a brat, but i want to emphasize that i think that means he could be bratty from either the dom or sub position and it’s entirely dependent on his partner. i think wooyoung is the type that bends himself for someone else to be accommodating, and honestly i see a lot of myself in him and vice versa, and we have very similar star charts so stay with me here. i don’t mean that in a negative way of course, but what i think wooyoung excels at is reading people and adjusting to their needs, so i think this would translate into the bedroom too. i think he’s the type to step up and lead if needed but the minute his partner takes a firmer hand he’s letting that shit roll and seeing where it goes. it makes him exceptionally fun to write tbh. i think wooyoung when being more dominant would be the teasing type, making playful fun of his partner while he delivers pleasure, almost goading them into coming. and i think when being submissive he rolls right into whining - the type to beg to come but listen attentively if their partner wanted to edge him. i think would be the perfect match for another switch because they could constantly be dynamic shifting and changing together and really explore so many aspects of themselves that way.
kinks -> oral (giving and receiving and make it messy), impact play (he’ll deliver a little spank but he’ll cum if you slap his cheek), visible cum (i.e. cumming on his partner / marking his partner), marking/claiming bruises and bites, cuckholding, pet play
call him -> baby, babe, wooyoung (but whiny lmao), honey, my boyfriend/fiance/husband (he likes the titles)
calls you -> babe (whiny af), baby, my love (when he’s feeling emo), pretty girl, babygirl, darling (when he’s teasing you), my girl (all the time he’s obsessed)
jongho - dominant, soft dom with hard dom potential;
in the same way that yunho and san read traditional to me, so does jongho. again, not in a problematic way, but in the way that he takes a dominant position in the relationship and seeks a partner who wants that kind of care. while i think all three of them would want a parter who is very dominant/in control in aspects of their career etc., i think being that person’s safe space to give up control is something they all want. so in that way, jongho reads truly dominant to me and is one of the only members of ateez to give the potential for hard dom, again, depending on his partner’s needs. i think he also acts as the guiding hand, he’s traditional in that he likes to pay for things etc., and would ultimately engage in softer aspects of control in the bedroom. however, if his partner really responded well to things like punishment and stricter guidelines, i think he would excel as a hard dom. i can really see him having a partner crawl to him, be waiting submissively on their knees for him, allow him to use them / benefit from actual punishment like counting spanks etc. and so generally i think while he may not need this kind of a relationship, if his partner did he would rise really well to that occasion because it comes more naturally.
kinks -> lingerie, nylons, impact play, breath play, free use, creampies, visible cum (marking with his cum), restraints (silks, cuffs, body weight), sensory deprivation, edging/overstim
call him -> babe, jjong, yeobo (if married), sir (for hard dom play)
calls you -> darling, babygirl, pretty, sweetheart, my love, yeobo, precious girl (during play)

What are your thoughts on Leona and Malleus' dynamic ? It's personally one of my favorite interactions which is a little funny since Malleus is one of my least favorite characters (leona stan forever tho, through rights AND wrongs). I'm not sure if it's implied enough, but After malleus and lilia (maybe?? idk bc his magic has grown weaker), i think leona is the next most magically powerful student in the school. What do you think?
I have previously discussed Leona and Malleus’s dynamic, as well as how they ironically mirror each other. I do get the occasional laugh from their beef, but I don’t get as much joy out of it as I do when I witness a mind game going on. I can only watch Leona and Malleus’ “oi, lizard”/“mind your manners, Kingscholar” schtick before my eyes begin to glaze over. Their dynamic is so often predicated on having these spats that amount to trading insults and teasing the promise of a (physical) fight. I just don’t find a fight that appealing as an answer. It’s also a matter of nonexistent stakes; if they were to fight, we’d already know the outcome anyway because Malleus is so OP. It would not be a fair fight at all.
I don’t mind the insults (some can be pretty funny), but personally find it more charming when they use their brains and not brawn to settle the matter. Some examples I always think of are when Malleus tells Sebek to apologize for being rude to Leona (the prince of a foreign country) and when Leona reminds Malleus he cannot go around killing children and dismissing it (as it would poorly reflect on him as Briar Valley’s heir apparent. These instances occurred in Sebek’s Outdoor Wear vignettes and Lost in the Book with Nightmare Before Christmas, respectively. They’re both royals, right?? 😭 So I’d really like to see more navigation of complicated social politics like this. (I’m aware that this direction may bore people to death, but personally I looove political drama…)
I think Leona’s a very strong mage, and I don’t mean just in terms of raw power (although that is also true). I don’t really care to base my opinion on only that. It’s important to think about factors besides raw power + consider individual strengths! In Leona’s case, he has the intelligence, efficiency, magic pool, imagination, and confidence skillset to do a lot. It should also be noted that Leona possesses the unique ability to smell magic in people and as well as in the area, despite very few of his peers (aside from Malleus) noticing it.
I actually don’t recall instances of the text describing Lilia’s magic as being strong…? (This includes before his magic started waning.) Fae are more magically inclined and use magic for everyday things (like transportation and cooking), but that does not always translate into having super strong magic overall. I’m sure Lilia is very capable in his own right, but I don’t get the sense that he’s like… significantly elevated about his peers in terms of magic strength.
Leona’s magic, on the other hand, has been pitched to us as particularly deadly. This is mainly in reference to his unique magic, as we see servants worrying about it in his post-OB flashback. He literally has the power to kill with just his touch. Still, this knowledge, combined with several other details (him leading the Magift/Spelldrive Club, being able to still play right after his OB when he should be resting, Idia remarking about his performance in combat tests, etc.), leads me to believe that Leona really may be #2 to Malleus in terms of magical might. I’m sure Kingscholar grits his teeth whenever he’s reminded of this/j

ETIQUETTE
If you were tagged it’s just a shoutout, don’t panic XD
Hi all, I wanted to make this post to set some gentle boundaries when it comes to my au.
I’ve had a few interactions like this now, and I’d rather make a post explaining my boundaries to prevent it from happening more.
This is not directed at one specific person. It has happened a few times with different people. I may reference experiences but the post in general isn’t directed.
Okay, to the point. Please do not make unsolicited comments criticising my designs/animal pick for characters. Especially if it’s a finished design. If you’re not happy with my choices, you have free will- pick up a pencil and make your own.
This includes backhanded compliments such as “this is cool, but I’d prefer if they were a ___” and “I’ll only see (character) as an (animal) but…”
While they may not be intended as such, these come off as rude and really hurt my feelings. You may know by now that I put a lot of thought and effort into every single design I’ve put out.
There are multiple factors, not just their personality and their looks. I take into consideration the dynamics they have with other characters, their behaviour, the way they move, their trap, etc. Some characters are designed with an overarching motif, for example, Wrath of the Gods (ty to the ppl who corrected me) are based on street animals, vermin, and each character will fall into that category. Adam and Lawrence? Cat and dog dynamic. Hoffman and Strahm? Competitors. Biological enemies. You get the gist.
Either way, I care a lot about my designs and for someone to invalidate them blatantly does hurt my feelings! And it does stick in my head for a while. In short, think about what you’re typing before you hit send. It may mean nothing to you but I assure you it means something to me.
If I am looking for advice on a characters design, I’ll ask for it! Suggestions on these posts are okay! As well as on concept sketches of a new design.
Hoffman was actually down to a vote on my Instagram!
My asks are also open for anyone curious about lore and why I picked an animal for a character etc.
I love talking about it so please ask me!! If I don’t respond to your ask about a specific character it just means I don’t have art of them yet, please don’t think I’m ignoring you out of malice; I have a few asks I yearn to respond to in my inbox rn but I just need to draw something for em!
If you have said something like this and I ask you not to because it’s rude, please just apologise and promise you won’t do it again. Do not argue with me and make me feel stupid/belittle me for my boundaries. That adds salt into the wound and you will be blocked.
I will not dislike you or hate you for a misstep; it’s just about respecting me and my art.
On that note, I don’t condone people comparing my au to other animal AUs, or other artists in general. Do not tell another artist mine is better than theirs or vice versa. That is also rude and frankly, toxic. We are all human beings and deserve to be respected.
Having said all this, I want to say that if you have your own animal au; please don’t be scared to tell me about it! I love hearing and seeing others interpretations of the characters, all are valid in their own unique ways.
I also do not mind if you draw yours interacting with mine, in fact I love it! So don’t be scared to show me.
And lastly, I want to shout out some very cool people that also have animal aus for you all to enjoy!!
These guys are great and their art rocks. Please support them!

Hey have you ever thought abt how the holiday toons have most likely never met each other in canon? BCS I have. I have :)
Specifically imagine flutter and flyte’s dynamic before flutter became part of the main cast. I doubt the valentines event and the Easter event would have much overlap- if any, and could you imagine knowing that you have a sibling who cares about you and loves you but you can only see them for a few days, if any, every year?
I’m just imagining Arthur and Delilah having them record videos or write notes to each other and like… could you imagine that being the only way you knew your sibling???
And then Flyte wakes up one day and Flutter is just. There. And they’re both overjoyed at first, but then the easter season comes and goes and Flyte disappears, and then Flutter has to live through a year of just knowing he could be here but isn’t?? Just because he wasn’t popular enough?
At least when they were both holiday toons Flutter could just see him for a little bit, go to sleep, and then wake up to a message or gift from him, but now she has to live through every agonizing second of not having him with her…. :(
hurt in my heart and tears in my eyes HOWEVER i like to think the holiday toons get to be around for at least a few months <:] like the christmas toons get to be around november december and january, bc they should get to Prepare for christmas and get to see the new year !! it’s the least they deserve !! and sometimes they make it to february !! (based on how the first christmas event ended feb 10(granted that’s bc it started late but still))
GRANTED the rules for how long each set of holiday toons are around for could vary, i can definitely see the christmas toons and halloween toons having longer waking times since the public gets very excited about those two holidays Months in advance, and valentines and easter not so much
but if they all get 3 or so months, i figure as a valentines toon she would’ve been around jan feb and march, and then flyte and the easter toons march april and may, which DAMN that’s still only have a month or so overlap unless flutter could hold out another month, but still. not enough time. and yeah the easter toons would never get to meet the christmas toons :[ i know they do in-game but from what i understand those interactions aren’t canon? but maybe if how long they stick around for is like, a willpower thing, maybe they’ve since stopped really knowing what day it is, what month. no episodes to do, no humans who come in everyday with something to say about the outside world.
and also I’m certain there’d be a guilt abt being made permanent, being popular. this high honor you didn’t ask for and can’t share because it was never really up to you. being a toon can be incredibly dehumanizing but Especially a holiday toon. your whole appearance and to an extent personality but Especially your ability to exist are tied to a few months of the year. you’re a ‘special’ character and it’s torture. you get ‘promoted’ to being permanent because everyone likes you and wants to see you more, and you feel so guilty. maybe you miss disappearing.
