PEOPLE COULD SAY THAT INTERACTING DAILY WITH MRS. ZABINI is a chore that not many would have the courage to handle — no matter the amount of money.

nevertheless you, poor little you, needed the money. it seemed like christmas' eve to be accepted immediately for an interview that paid well, better than any store service at diagon alley, much less for a fancy job like being some rich woman's personal assistant. a beautifully neat place to work, having the chance to be a candidate even though you lack experience and truly need the money?

too good to be true.

and perhaps that was why people raised their eyebrows with worry as soon as you mentioned where you applied. to whom, specifically. some laughed in assumption that the first week would be enough to scare you away to another city — others wished you luck. it made you confused; did ariadne zabini eat desperate people's hearts for breakfast? maybe she spits fire whenever her mood swings for little reasons. maybe she's a vampire in disguise.

for the sake of not looking like a scared mouse when you enter those golden gates, you decided to ignore all of that. wisely.

the confusion worsened once you breathed the same air as her. ariadne is as beautiful as the rumors and hushed whispers say — each step is elegant, demanding attention and respect. she didn't spit fire; she didn't make a scandal to notice that your social shirt is wrinkled.

instead, she raised a subtle eyebrow and slightly tilted her head to the side, almost amused: "scared of me already, little one? well, i should be weary of what people say about me, it seems."

however, ariadne didn't seem to be serious about it, much less concerned about other people's opinion. it made sense, you rationalize; a rich woman who can decide to shop in paris out of a whim, beautiful, as if age was scared of approaching her. maybe the hypothesis of mrs. zabini being a vampire isn't that absurd.

in fact, she was almost nice. considerate. didn't break a vase out of a whim and force you to pick up the pieces, like those dramatic muggle series that involved rich people being the bad guys. in truth, ariadne only gave advice — expecting to be heard, to have her words being interpreted like an undeniable truth — of the colors that suited you better, why you shouldn't overlap a shirt with pattern along with a skirt that had a big personality of its own.

then, it was the way that she smiled, amused, at simple things you did. correcting your mistakes without raising her voice, telling you to pay special attention to certain people who contacted her and which owls to not even waste time opening its letters. if you struggled, ariadne would send a maid or another person who works in favor of her comfort to patiently explain it to you.

it took two months to get used to her intense presence and handle the job with ease. it didn't require a lot of physical labor, and ariadne became less of a boogeyman every additional morning that you attend work.

during the third month, you began to wonder if you're going crazy. if you need to sleep more hours at night. maybe it's just the way that ariadne behaves, something that went unnoticed for two months because the stress of working for someone with such an intimidating reputation clouded those signs.

in the end, you dared to wonder to yourself. is mrs. zabini flirting with me?

her touch lingers, appreciative of your work. her eyes, hooded like a feline, watched you like a kneazzle takes interest in prey. shamelessly staring, gloved fingertips tracing your upper arms when she hovers from behind, taking notice of your perfume — sweeter than hers, perhaps because she's far more mature, more experienced.

her observant eyes became lustful. with time, they'd soften into tenderness.

but until then, many lines would have to be crossed before ariadne gets to discreetly test waters. put you to test, without you being aware that there's an exam to be passed.

it makes one wonder. is ariadne a good boss, or is she sweeter to a feminine presence?

Constantly thinking about the fact that Obi Wan was depressed and filled with guilt this whole time over what happened with Anakin. And than he finds out that's what's left of Anakin has been alive and with Palpatine this whole time. I think about that trophy room of dead jedi and I wonder if Obi Wan ever thought about the fact that Anakin himself is a trophy for Palpatine too. One that he can parade around to use how ever he wants as Anakins Sith master. Obi Wan needing to think about Anakin as being dead (just to get through the day and keep the good parts of him alive and protect his son), than how sick he must feel that Anakin's corpse is being used in that way. It's not only that fact that Palpatine has been grooming and seducing Anakin to the dark side for years while Obi Wan didn't fully realize, it's that he gloats about it too with the way he uses Vader.

BORN FROM A DECAYING WEALTH in the hands of a prideful man, ariadne watched with hatred as their emptying vault of gringotts was wasted in her father's terrible luck with gambling. resentful, ariadne grew to detest her father, especially when it became harder to enjoy luxuries stolen by his incompetence; when he raised a hand to her mother for the first time.

perhaps that was when ariadne decided that she'd be an iron hand, her own savior, the knife that would put an end to her father's idiocy. ariadne didn't want someone like him by her side, even less have an emotional "debt" in fears of becoming the mirror of her mother. ariadne abandoned her surname, kept zora because it's her mother's name, and collected vaults that didn't originally belong to her.

HER FAVORITE SUBJECTS WERE HERBOLOGY AND POTIONS.

─ luckily enough, those two subjects are intertwined. at a certain point, students are encouraged to garden their own ingredients instead of buying most things at hogsmeade. for ariadne, taking care of plants is a relaxing hobby rather than a chore, and although she fancied the lovely species that improve one's gardens... ariadne had a huge fixation for the naughtier ones. devil's snare. poisonous plants. those that only become venom if consumed in a large amount. those that very few know about. who knows, the poison that killed her husbands were a brewed product of hers, born from plants of ariadne's gardens.

DURING HER ACADEMIC YEARS AT HOGWARTS, ARIADNE WAS A SLYTHERIN.

from childhood, ariadne was ambitious, if only in hopes of building a life for herself that was far, far from the life she knew until then. simultaneously, ariadne became a cunning woman, a trait that mingles with cautious intelligence which is the reason why conspiracy theories — all of them mostly true — never landed her on azkaban. ariadne didn't care much about house rivalry, even though she thought that gryffindor students were more arrogant than her housemates. in that sense, ariadne thought that at least, the serpents had a sense of union and companionship with their own.

even though the color of his tie wouldn't be enough to disturb ariadne's sleep at night, she was happy that blaise was sorted into slytherin. for starters, because it'd build connections with other kids, like phoena's own.

then, it was a proud happiness that blaise was, once again, proving himself to be a lot like her.

ARIADNE HOPED FOR A DAUGHTER.

─ hopeless that the male population had wings for improvement and fearing that she'd birth an incompetent man like her father, ariadne wished for a daughter to protect, coddle, and perhaps have someone to match outfits with. nevertheless, as we know, a boy was a born — but if blaise was born a girl, then ariadne would have chosen the name allora. sadly, it's not a name that she'll ever be able to use, unless blaise fulfills the promise of gifting her a feline; specifically a female cat-half-kneazzle.

WHENEVER SHE'S NOT TRAVELLING, ARIADNE CONSIDERS SPENDING A FEW DAYS IN HOGSMEADE.

─ although the wonders of money could take ariadne anywhere, and comfortably so, there's something about hogsmeade that felt more like home than her own family's house, currently deserted, sold off to bury memories she'd rather not recall. a version of ariadne zora she prefers to forget. the lovely stores, the people that remained and decided to spend their adulthood there, then the opportunity to spend some time with blaise, perhaps a saturday where she's all ears of his endeavors at hogwarts.

with both of them knowing that, should blaise become part of the deplorable percentage of disgusting men, he'll get his ass whopped in front of everyone. ariadne does not forgive.

BLAISE'S COMPANY IS HER FAVORITE IN THE WHOLE WORLD,

─ ariadne arranged a plethora of pleasant acquaintances she can spend time with, narcisa being one of them after phoena's death. nevertheless, blaise became the dearest person in her heart, overpowering ariadne's own love for herself. blaise's sense of humor never makes to make her laugh, even though it's, at most, a chuckle and an amused smile. to walk around galleries, blaise's arm offered for ariadne to take as they exchange discreetly rude comments that poke at the modern sense of art.

OUTSIDE OF FASHION, ARIADNE HAS A TASTE FOR CLASSICAL MUSIC,

─ in her eyes, there's nothing more elegant than the discipline of an orchestra that works in harmony. whenever blaise is back from hogwarts, he always attends an opera or orchestra with his mother, knowing that it'll sweeten her mood.

during her teenage years, ariadne learned to play the violin, which she mastered with eager passion and a lot of dedicated time. ariadne still plays sometimes, albeit whenever she's sure that she's alone, because when ariadne plays the violin, is when she's the most fragile; baring her vulnerabilities for the room to echo with equal sadness. the only person who's allowed to hear her play is blaise, who she taught to play when he was old enough to hold the violin and its bow without struggling. even so, it's rare that blaise is an allowed audience.

ariadne plays violin the most whenever she misses phoena so much, that it's unbearable.

THE PERSON WHO MADE THAT WOMAN DISAPPEAR WAS ARIADNE,

─ more observant to a fault, almost like a survival instinct, ariadne took extra caution of the people who surrounded blaise, especially during his childhood. the moment that she saw lorenzo and his mannerisms, she understood that something was seriously wrong after his third year at hogwarts. naturally, with her presence in pureblood gatherings, ariadne followed like a hawk to search for the one who's at fault for her son's friend's distress. bingo, she found her, once lorenzo stiffened at the presence of another woman. the one who's at fault for a sixteen year old behaving in a hypersexual manner.

ariadne forced the woman to make an unbreakable vow.

maybe it was too harsh, especially how she prioritized blaise, lorenzo and even theodore's safety the most. ariadne likes to think that phoena would have done the same — and that her dear friend would have thanked her with the sweetest of smiles and the most bright look.

ARIADNE LIVES FOR THE LUXURIOUS RICH LIFE,

after the endeavors of her father, ariadne promised herself that she would avenge her mother and take revenge on her father by living the most ridiculously luxurious life she could. her money goes to certain fashion brands, assures the best care for her mother's comfort, wasted the least she could to have her father buried in a dirty corner of a cemetery.

to a fault, ariadne decides the most expensive routes, sometimes even staying two nights in a five star hotel before spending the next night in another highly rated resort. but hey, don't take her wrong; if ariadne needs to bring a personal assistant to keep her finances and life in check, she'll pay for the room next to hers. her employees are very loyal, and very well paid too.

the type of mother and sugar mommy that would scoff while adjusting one of her cards inside their pocket, arguing that they haven't spent enough; go pamper yourself, darling. that's why she sacrificed her precious time going on dates with rich men.

UNINTENTIONALLY BOSSY,

ariadne doesn't mean to come across as arrogant, through her confidence in her own decisions which she perceives to be the best course of action. clothes, colors, shoes, furniture, activities, brands, places to go; blaise got used to his mother's way of being, and forgave her unintentional means of being misunderstood. simultaneously, after a few careful conversations from his side, ariadne understood that sometimes she might cross the line; the only person she listens to is blaise, however.

this habit of hers probably comes from her wishful independence. ariadne decided she wanted to be her own person, away from her family, very early; it meant that she could only depend on herself, trust herself the most and make decisions alone. more often than not, ariadne just wants to help.

EXPENSIVE TASTES, DRESSING UP IS HER THERAPY.

silk, velvet, high heels even though she's at home, specifically designing a pair of fuzzy sleepers with a comfortable heel. social shirts with a quirk, clothes that show off her shoulders and collarbone, long gloves that an endless storage of jewelry that she intended to leave as her daughter's heritage. because ariadne gave birth to a boy, she decided that once she has a granddaughter, she'd live her girl-mom dreams.
