All Might is a First Year Teacher
All Might gets a LOT of flack for being a bad teacher.
Ignoring the fact that the whole school is a lawsuit waiting to happen, and ALL the teachers (yes, including Aizawa) do things that range from illegal to highly questionable, I'd argue that All Might isn't a bad teacher.
He's a first-year teacher.
And honestly, a good first-year teacher at that.
If you look at his very first lesson, the "Battle Trials," you will see several things he does that first-year teachers struggle with but works to overcome them.
When he gives instructions, the class gets a little out of hand, and he has to try to calm them down.
This happens ALL THE TIME! And not even to just new teachers. Learning how to manage a class is a process even veteran teachers can struggle with. Students are easily distracted and will yell out answers or talk to friends, and you see the same happen with All Might. However, he actually manages to get the class back under control, which isn't easy.
2. He needs to use flashcards to remember the scenario.
It's really tricky to always remember everything that needs to be said for an activity or lesson to work. And if you haven't taught the lesson before, it's even trickier. It's common for first-year teachers to use things like sticky notes to keep track of key information. Sometimes you can even use PowerPoint. All Might didn't have that, so he used flashcards. Now, while it might not look great, it's arguably more important that he remembers everything that needs to be said for the battle trial to work rather than forgetting and trying to explain it later. (Which happens and is messy).
3. He gets a little flustered when Yaoyorozu answers a question really well.
Students constantly surprise their teachers. Sometimes, you ask a question, and they know nothing. And sometimes, they give you a perfect, insightful answer. All Might gets a bit tongue-tied when Yaoyorozu gives a great answer, but what I love about him is that he recognizes she did a great job! He doesn't try to add something to prove that he knows best, but he recognizes and acknowledges her input.
4. He recognizes the needs of his students (even if he doesn't address it perfectly)
During the battle trial, All Might recognizes that Midoriya desperately needed to continue the fight with Bakugou in order to work through some things. Should he have? Probably not, but new teachers regularly try and struggle to know how to best support their students. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Then after the battle trial, he notices that Bakugou is upset over how it went and tries to offer words of encouragement. In this instance it doesn't work, and Bakugou storms off angry. However, the point remains that he saw the need and tried to address it.
5. He let the fight between Midoriya and Bakugou last too long and get dangerous.
First off, UA let a bunch of teenagers try to attack massive robots as their entrance exams! The battle trial was far from the most dangerous thing UA had already thrown at them, so All Might deserves some slack.
Also, as a first-year teacher, it's difficult to know when to step into a situation and when to back off. All Might tried to give multiple warnings, which Bakugou ignored. Usually, that's enough, but in this case, it wasn't. However, he was still aware of the situation and tried to mediate it, even if, in retrospect, it should have been handled differently.
AND ALL OF THIS WAS HIS FIRST LESSON!
In conclusion, All Might isn't a bad teacher. He is a first-year teacher who is clearly learning but who cares deeply. You can tell by how he supports and interacts with his students; he wants to be there for them and help them become heroes, even if he struggles along the way.
As someone who recently finished their first year of teaching, All Might remind me how challenging teaching can be, but that you don't have to be perfect at it. You just have to keep trying to improve every day, plus ultra style.

☆ evening glow - c.bg
synopsis - where you and beomgyu are able to be natural around each other, and finding solace within one another.
-> idol! beomgyu x idol! reader
-> idiots to lovers, established relationship, comfort angst, songfic with lyrics(?)
-> WARNING! talks about mental exhaustion, burn outs, bad descriptions about idol life.
-> NOTES! w2e and beomgyu is just so 😓😓 and happy valentines day!! here's a vday post based on the poll i did recently
if i feel broken, you will find me.
being an idol was tough, busy schedules, having to put up an image for your fans, and not being able to have quality time with yourself. being an idol meant that you had to always put yourself out there, despite fans telling you that placing yourself first was the most important, it wasn't that easy. you couldn't be yourself, you didn't even know who your real self was at this point, you've had this bubbly, outgoing persona on ever since the start of your idol journey, the moodmaker of your group. you were constantly joking around, making the mood more lively and engaging, yet on the inside you knew that you were just someone who lost their childhood in order to pursue their dreams as an idol
that was when you met him, choi beomgyu, someone who was just like you. the moodmaker of tomorrow x together, the middle child of the group, and the one their members relied on. it was a mere coincidence, your groups had similar comeback dates, thus seeing each other backstage was normal. the occassional eye contacts and waves to each other were meaningful, dance challenges being the only times you two could fully interact with one another. it was normal to feel your heart beating against your chest rapidly, especially since you were standing beside such a pretty boy.
little did you know, beomgyu felt the same about you, he admired your vocals, and dance skills, so perfect in his eyes. he felt as if he saw an angel when he first met your eyes from across the stage at a big awards show, bowing to each other when your group was about to leave the stage. for the first time in a while, he felt his heart racing quickly, if this was still high school, he would have already ran up to you and asked for your number, but life was unfair, there were multiple cameras everywhere, they would have definitely recorded him and both of you would have landed yourselves in a scandal.
"and cut! that was a good take, good work for the day." one of the staff members announced through the speakers, you bent over, clenching your knees, panting heavily as you greeted your fans goodbye, your bandmates doing the same, walking off the stage.
"fuck why is today so much more exhausting than the previous weeks." yunjin complained, gasping for air.
"tell me about it. i feel like i fought 5 wars at once." sakura fanned herself, praying that it'll cool herself faster.
"after this, we're finally done with our comeback promotions." you exclaimed, looking forward to the well deserved break the group needed. your group bursted out in cheers, as if they were the only ones in the building, you could only giggle at their actions, clapping to yourself as you tiredly dragged yourself back to your changing room. however, the felt your legs giving up on you as you stumbled forward, you thought that you were about to fall onto the ground face first, until a pair of lean, yet muscular arms grabbed your shoulders. your eyes widened, looking up to see the man you've been eye candying since the start, choi beomgyu.
"oh, uhm sorry." you stuttered out an apology, stabilising yourself while you continuously bowed to him, your face turning red by the second. "no, it's fine, just be careful.. also your group did really well today." beomgyu reassured, complimenting your group at the same time, you thanked him with a bright smile on your face, "good luck to you guys too! i'm sure you'll do just fine. thank you again." waving to beomgyu, running back to your group who was giving you knowing looks.
you placed a finger over your lips, pushing them into the changing room, you took one last look at beomgyu, who was shushing his members, the tip of his ears turning red, before closing the door behind you.
those useless words were falling apart on me.
bumping into beomgyu in your company was more common now, hybe was big, however you two just managed to find each other no matter what. it wasn't long until you two became friends, hanging out at the cafeteria or cafe during your breaks in between practice, waving to each other excitedly, even having beomgyu drop you off at your practice room or dorm. it was quite obvious to everyone and their mothers that the both of you had something for each other.
"sneaking off to see beomgyu again?" chaewon glared at you, completely unimpressed by the way you tried sneaking out of the practice room. you laughed it off, "i'll be back quickly, you guys need a break too right?"
"fine, but be back by 3!" chaewon shouted, you gave her a thumbs up, closing the door as you started sprinting towards the lift. you had an hour before you needed to return to the practice room, that was enough time, right? after what seemed like forever, you finally reached the floor where the cafe was located at, you immediately spotted the brown haired male, his hair shorter than before, sitting infront of 2 cups of americano and a singular strawberry cake.
"sorry, practice took longer than expected." you sat beside beomgyu, startling him with the loud sound of your chair screeching against the tile floor.
"what the fuck, lift the chair up next time." beomgyu grumbled, covering his ears while glaring at you. you gave him a small apology, awkwardly sipping your americano
"this cake for me?" you smirked, nudging beomgyu's shoulder. beomgyu's face flushed, completely forgetting about the cake's existance until you noticed it, "yea.. i was planning to share it with you." beomgyu mumbled, hoping that you didn't hear the last part. you grinned, giving him a tight hug, taking the first bite of the cake.
"how's the preparation for your comeback?" you asked, nibbling on the cake that was laying on your fork. beomgyu swallowed the sweet treat before resting his chin on the palm of his hand, "it's alright, i guess?" beomgyu sounded unsure of his answer, making you slightly worried, usually he was more enthusiatic over his comebacks, excited to tell you everything about it, but this time it was different.
"are you sure? you don't sound like yourself when you answered me." you asked once again, your eyes landing on beomgyu's nervous state. the silence he was giving you made you more concerned, he has never acted this way before. "you know, you can tell me anything right?" you rubbed beomgyu's shoulder, your attempt in comforting him.
i'm struggling in my world.
beomgyu sighed, his eyes averting from your strong gaze. he bit the inside of his cheek, his mind going blank on him, he wanted to tell you, tell you everything he was feeling, including how he felt for you, but it was hard for him to do so. he didn't want to lose you, mainly because you were idols, and barely had time for one another, but still, would it be worth it? he's about to go to america the next week to work on the collab with the jonas brothers, he's been working non stop. beomgyu was tired, physically and mentally.
"you won't get mad?" beomgyu looked softly into your eyes, you nodded almost instantly, "i would never get mad at you." of course you wouldn't, he was basically the male version of you.
"i'm going to america next week, i'm working on another collab, but i'm not even done recording for the other songs in the full album yet." beomgyu admitted, stirring the remaining contents of his americano, waiting for your response, expecting you to scold him for always leaving you or something.
"you're travelling again? didn't you just come back from your tour in the US–" there it was, you were probably about to blame him for always not being able to spend time with you, "that's crazy, like are you not exhausted? did they even give you an off-day? i'll fight your management for you." oh, that was different, beomgyu had a funny feeling in his stomach, it wasn't a stomachache or anything, it felt nice. butterflies in your stomach, was it? it was nice.
"it's ok! we can always call or text when we're away from one another." you beamed, waving your phone infront of his face, his contact on your phone shoved into his face. he took this chance to read what you named him, and that was when you immediately pulled your phone away, you face flushing red. you fucked up.
"your pretty boy huh?" beomgyu teased, his ego going through the roof after realising that there was a chance that you reciprocated his feelings too. you covered your ears, blocking out any teasing beomgyu has directed to you. "shut up, shhh, i gotta go now, bye. i'm gonna be late. don't look for me." you quickly got up from your seat, making a run for it, apologising to the staff you accidentally bumped into.
beomgyu chuckled to himself, unable to ignore the burning feeling on his face, he hid his face in his hands, screaming to himself internally, a giddy smile appearing on his face as he kicked his feet around like a teenage girl in love. he has a chance, he actually has a chance with the girl he has been pinning over. what a dream come true.
"beomgyu? are you drunk or something?" a voice knocking him out of his giggly thoughts, he eyed the person down, only to see soobin hovering over him. "shut up, let's go, i'm gonna kill this next recording." beomgyu almost shouted, pushing away his chair, causing soobin to jolt from the sudden action. beomgyu returned the tray, walking towards the recording studio, soobin swore he saw beomgyu practically bouncing at each step he took.
i might be full of flaws,
you sprinted as fast as your legs took take you to the practice room, gasping for air as you dramatically fall onto the ground. your heart still pounding over the fact that beomgyu basically found out about your mini (huge) crush on him.
"you look like you just saw a ghost what–"
"BEOMGYU KNOWS THAT I LIKE HIM." you screamed, shaking the closest person to you, which was eunchae. the girls turned their heads to you so fast their heads could fly off. even the staff were stunned. "you what!?" kazuha almost jumped, she wasn't believing what she heard.
"i accidentally showed him what i named him in my contacts, and i just ran away.." you added, answering what the girls were probably thinking.
"you just ran? are you an idiot? you didn't even care to hear what he has to say to you?" you groaned at the questions being thrown at you, rolling on the ground like a child, you grumbled, "i wasn't thinking straight ok? either way, i think he's gonna pick me up from here after my practice, you guys know how it is.. we'll probably talk."
speak of the devil, your phone vibrated in your shorts, you felt yourself flinch at the feeling before pulling your phone out.
gyu : i'll see you later at 6, you can't just leave me hanging like that ;)
oh my god, you hated him, you felt like dying right there and then, the way he teased you made you blush.
"come on yn, we still have to practice, let's go." sakura pulled you up, pushing you to your starting position in the dance. you sighed, your mind was too noisy to dance right now, but maybe this would keep you distracted from your thoughts.
but you will crave my heart.
"yes perfect! that's it for today girls, you guys did amazing." the dance coach complimented, clapping for your group's efforts. you cheered, plopping onto the floor, catching your breath.
"yn, your man is outside to collect you." your dance coach joked, pointing to beomgyu who was peeking into the practice room. you flew up from your current position, immediately packing your bags.
"i'll see you guys later in the dorms, love you guys." you blew them a kiss, winking at them while they cringed at your actions, even gagging. you opened the door, almost bumping into beomgyu's chest, luckily you stopped yourself before you could even collide into him.
"let's go talk somewhere." you mumbled, dragging beomgyu to the elevators. the silence was deafening, your eyes constantly flickering from beomgyu to the ground beneath you.
"staring at me wouldn't help with anything idiot."
"i wasn't, i'm just thinking about how to not make this awkward ok." you retorted, crossing your arms against your chest, waiting for the elevator to arrive. beomgyu chuckled, "how long?"
"what do you mean?" you stared at him confused, walking out of the elevator first while beomgyu holds the door for you before following behind you.
"how long have you liked me?" beomgyu clarified, his eyes never leaving your figure. "a really long time, you know when we first saw each other at that award show, i felt a connection. then i guess from there those feelings grew." your voice was barely above a whisper, kicking the rocks you found on the pavement.
"really? i felt the same when i made eye contact with you." beomgyu's lips tugged upwards, happy that you've felt the same since the start.
"wait so you like me too?" you turned back, stopping in the middle of the pavement, seeing beomgyu give you a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of his neck. "you're kidding, are you serious?"
"of course i am, you're the first person that could understand me for me, so naturally i fell for you." beomgyu confirmed, the apples of his cheeks turning red. "i thought i was obvious with my feelings.. i swear all the little things i've been doing for you wasn't just platonic."
"fuck, i am so dense." you came to your senses, remembering all the times yunjin would almost scream at you about beomgyu being head over heels for you, but you were too stupid to think that your friendship was more than just platonic.
"then now what? are we dating or..?" you asked, you leaned your body closer to beomgyu, wanting an answer out of him while he leaned away, avoiding your eyes.
"if you want to we can.." beomgyu mumbled, his eyes looking down at you for a reaction, only to be met with the most radiant smile he has ever seen, sparkles in your eyes when you heard his answer. he could feel himself melting from the sight of you beaming in happiness, if he was this mushy already, dating you would be ten times worse.
"alright! now let's go to the convenience store and eat something, i might die from starvation." you stretched your body, intertwining your fingers with beomgyu's as you pulled him along with you. beomgyu stared at your interlocked hands and covered his face, heat rushing to his cheeks. he's finally dating you, like officially, something he has been dreaming off since you guys became closer.
i'm broken.
it's been a few months since you and beomgyu have gotten together. it has been a crazy few months, weird sasaengs catching you guys on a date, causing the media to go crazy over this newfound information which eventually led to hybe releasing a statement, announcing that everything was real. after that incident, you two have been hanging out openly, holding hands and hugging each other, a dream come true.
however, being idols meant that you guys had hectic schedules, you were preparing for your new digital single release while beomgyu was releasing a full album. his workload piling up especially since he had just ended the world tour in japan. you barely saw beomgyu, you were losing it, you missed him so much, calling him through the phone wasn't enough. you missed him so bad to the point you started scrolling through beomgyu's hashtag on both tiktok and instagram.
beomgyu, on the other hand, felt the exact same, he missed your soft kisses that tasted like peach, he missed your head pats which reminded him on his childhood, everything reminded him of you, leading him to buy many items for you. he walked out of the practice room with the rest of the boys, smiling and laughing about different topics that they were discussing, trying to keep the mood up, but once he reached his room, he immediately fell onto his bed, letting out a huge sigh. he was tired out of his mind.
gyu : i'm coming over.
yn : what, why?
gyu : just wait for me :'
beomgyu threw on his coat, quietly unlocking the door to prevent the rest from hearing him. he regretted not wearing gloves, the cold air immediately hitting his skin when he stepped out of his dorm, swiftly, he made his way to your dorm, taking every single shortcut that he knew could take him to you quicker.
beomgyu knocked once, no answer, twice, no answer, thrice– the door opened before he could even knock for the third time, revealing a stunned kazuha standing infront of him.
"oh, yn's boyfriend, what are you doing here?" she stared at him from top to bottom, inspecting his posture.
"i want to see yn, also i have a name kazuha." beomgyu rolled his eyes subtly, making sure that it wasn't obvious. kazuha gave him one last look before yelling your name through the dorm. it was so loud it shocked you, you scurried to where the voice was coming from, only to see kazuha holding the door to a shivering choi beomgyu.
"oh my god, beomgyu come in." you invited, pulling him in by his coat, kazuha closed the door, telling you a quick goodnight as she went into her room.
"how long were you out there, jeez you're freezing." you sighed, rubbing your hands together with beomgyu's hoping that it created some type of warmth for him.
so take me to the evening glow.
"can we go to your room instead of standing here..?" beomgyu whispered, placing his hands on your lowerback as he pushed you towards the direction of your room. you led him to your room, locking the door behind you while beomgyu removed his thick coat, revealing the thin sweater he was wearing. you yelped quietly when beomgyu dragged you down onto the bed with him, his arms instantly snaking around your waist, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck, his shampoo engulfing your sense of smell, bringing you comfort to a certain extent.
"is something wrong?" you whispered into his now long, brown hair. beomgyu was quick to shake his head, "missed you." you smiled at his response, knowing that this wasn't the only reason why he was overly clingly to you. beomgyu didn't like to voice out his concerns often, bottling them in as if they didn't mattered. you understood how he felt, since you do the exact same, thus giving him the affection he needed was the most that you could do to comfort him from his spiraling thoughts.
you rubbed the back of his head, playing with the ends of his wolfcut, placing kisses on the top of his head occassionally. beomgyu hummed contently, burying his face further into your neck, if it was even possible.
"am i.. even worth being an idol?" beomgyu suddenly asked, your hands coming to a halt as you looked at beomgyu's doe eyes. you could hear your heart shattering at the question, beomgyu, out of everyone, shouldn't think like that.
"of course you are, you're like the best, have you seen yourself on stage? you're literally amazing." you conplimented him as much as you could, trying to boost his self-esteem. beomgyu sighed, his grip around your waist tightening. "don't force yourself to tell me, i know it's hard for you to open up, i won't make you tell me everything you're concerned about." you reassured beomgyu, pushing him away to look into his watery eyes.
beomgyu whined, being away from your touch felt like he was going to die, he pulled you back into his embrace, "i want to tell you, you're the only one who understands how i feel." you nodded your head, listening to what beomgyu has to say, from him being physically and mentally exhausted from all the schedules to him getting mistreated by the company. even if you didn't say much, beomgyu knew that you wouldn't judge him for how he felt, he felt as if he could be himself around you, instead of being the rowdy, mischievious member he was, he could be quiet and calm around you.
"thanks for listening.." beomgyu pecked your lips multiple times, smiling into a longer kiss. you hummed into the kiss, tilting your head slightly for better access. beomgyu soon pulled away, placing his forehead on yours, "i love you."
you giggled, pulling him back into a tight hug, "i love you too beom."
and lay me down,
on the sun, the tender sun.

recently, i've started to see things where tobirama is reincarnated as sakura or is sakura's "inner", which is really interesting. could i get your take on this?
Unfortunatley I don't actually know much ab Sakura's inner! I learned naruto lore via fanfiction (never actually touched any canon media, oops) and have only actually read like 3 Sakura centric ones, I straight up didn't even know Sakura had a multiple personality(?) thing going for her till a few months ago (and boy wasn't that a surprise)
I think Tobirama being reincarnated as her could be p fun!! But also I think I'd be more interested in telling a story where he just straight up reincarnated as someone not existing in canon, if only bc then he could also interact WITH Sakura instead of just being her
I find that a lot of stories that try to give Sakura agency just kind of toss her entire character out the window and start from scratch, which is fun and valid! But it's more fun for me to make direct, uncomfortable eyecontact w canon her and find increasingly stupid or chaotic ways to fast track that whole "character development" thing or at least find ways to explain why she's Like That(tm)
So yeah I don't have toooo much interest in Tobirama reincarnating as specifically Sakura or her inner, but I could be into a story where he just reincarnates in proximity to her and then see how they bounce off of eachother. Maybe as a sibling? That could be cool
If he's born a girl we can zap em with the trans beam on top of the body dismorphia of suddenly being a whole child, that could be interesting. The blatant sexism of naruto canon could also make for an interesting plotline if we want to actually get into that
I kind of like the idea of him not actually remembering his previous life, at least not in full. Maybe he has weird dreams sometimes, maybe he looks at photos of the Nidaime and gets weird feelings of dejavu.
I suddenly have a very specific mental image of him getting a scar on his cheek, where one of his tattoos used to be, and just staring in a mirror afterwards at this super weird feeling of dejavu mixed w a sensation of it not being right mixed w just general body dismorphia and aw fuck why does he feel like he's both a little more right and further from himself than he's ever been?
Anyways would he be born younger or older than Sakura? Older brother him is just super overprotective, often suffering from nightmares of sensing as Sakura and some unnamed "other sibling" of his dies. It could also mean he can interact with Itachi actually, maybe they can be emotionally stunted baby genius friends or smthn
But younger sibling him could make for a surprisingly compelling parallel with Sakura and Hashirama! Especially w how Sakura later goes on to train with Tsunade n stuff
Part of me wants to say he's still names Tobirama for simplicitys sake, he can just be named after the Nidaime or smthn. But also that feels a bit cheap even if it is easier, so at least for now we'll name him Tora
Him and cat Tora can square off for name rights idk
Tora speaking oddly formally for a civilian, and having the kind of respect for your elders that come from being a second son in an elder run clan in ancient Japan. He has an awful time trying to form emotional attachments with people, including but especially his parents, who for some reason never really felt like his
But also him having a super easy time being attached to his new little sister Sakura, who he refuses to see anything bad happen to ever
So Tora and Sakura's parents being like suuper traditional, which is why Sakura is Like That when it comes to boys (she's constantly being told she needs to find a man to take care of her) Tora acts as a good figure and role model in her life, so while she's still interested in romance like canon she isn't AS boy crazy and can do a bit of thinking for herself.
And then we can get some fun conflict between Tora and his parents, who unfortunatley don't get the whole trans thing and constantly insist he needs to either drop the shinobi thing and find a husband, or if he does keep going at the shinobi thing, use it to find a husband there then drop it
Yeah he's not doing either of those things.
(they find out he's friends w the Uchiha clan heir and immediatley get weird about it, all glowing with pride that he's "attracting such good potential husbands" n stuff (Tora is PISSED))
Anyways Tora being just alarmingly good at literally any jutsu Tobirama invented. Like, ALARMINGLY good. He has that first life muscle memory, which unfortunatley is NOT a valid alibi and he's about to get his ass beat for seeming to have reverse engineered secret jutsus he shouldn't be able to know.
It isn't HIS fault that just glancing at the flying thunder god technique that one time was apparently enough for him to instinctively understand how to use it!!! Maybe this "Tobirama" guy should have just been better at making his jutsu harder to understand, this is clearly not his fault
He manages to help avoid the Uchiha massacre by being friends with Itachi, the two of them both graduating early and at the same ages, joining the same team and then ANBU together and so on.
Tora being really strong and graduating early and all that only further motivating Sakura to be a super strong shinobi, just like her big brother! Maybe she and Sasuke can even bond or have met earlier through Itachi and Tora's friendship.
Sakura and Sasuke childhood friends agreeing to try and graduate early together just like their older siblings. Not really into sasusaku but Ill say Sakura can keep her crush on him but be actually normal about it via exposure plus maybe some boy advice from Tora (he's a shinobi, so if you really want to charm him, you'll have to beat him first)
She can maybe lose it with time (and exposure to him being a dumb cringe fail kid w his brother still around) and maybe go kiss Ino idk
Anyways, Tora and Itachi friendship. Shisui is also there!! (Love that guy)
They're dynamic is just emotionally suppressed bastard (thinks hes better than you) + emotionally suppressed bastard (knows hes better than you) + upbeat guy smiling at you as he holds a gun to your head
Shisui and Tora take turns driving the car as Itachi sits in the back seat peacefully eating some applesauce (he's just happy to be here)
They're gonna blow up the hokage tower for the good of the people 👍
They're on an ANBU team w Kakashi and Tenzo and forget about going grey, they're gonna make Kakashi's hair straight up fall out from the stress
Maybe Tora can move out of his parents house the first chance he gets, and then whatever place he manages to find can be a little safe place for Itachi. Itachi accidentally ends up almost moving in w him as things at home get worse and worse w the coup. He just stays over more and more and doesn't want to return home
Circling back to the "Tora instinctivley knows how to navigate Tobirama's seals/techniques" the most terrifying point of the story is when he sees Naruto's jinchuriki seal and realizes he knows how to mess with it
Uh oh!! Shouldn't have that information!!
Anyways take some doodles
(Danzo is "that jackass who won't let me look at the nidaime's old research" and Tora has a GRUDGE.)

*I think ppl often forget alot of the Loud minority of gatos fanbase has sorta parasocial relationship with her since at one point gato was very active in her fanbase offten answering questions on the spot and constantly liking fanart and leaving comments, something not alot of creator's do ( i know the creator of sally face interacts with their own fandom too!)
But bc gatos fanbase is so niche the small amount of ppl assum she approves of everylittle thing or knows about every protect/merch ect She doesn't , it apperse to me shes often the last one to hear the news. If even(?)
( somewhat un related but im using this as an example bc its recent) vvvvvvv
// Very recently a merch creator/ seller said that her version of ren was a. l%li-con and there was some ppl who assumed gato was okay with this. She wasn't lol- i mean gato said multiple times kids DONT even exist in the games plot, BUT because gatos so lenient and open to head canons /spins on her characters thoes ppl assume she approved it \\
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Its also very hard when you make a character and then a person starts writing them using their own head canons or having alot of out of character moments
And a STRANGE AMOUNT of thoes ppl thinking its canon or cant get THAT version of your character out of their head/ fan art /wrighting untill eventually its a fanon
Even WHEN a fangame is a perfect (like said fangane) because one person dose it , some ppl with bad intention will use this as an excuse to make a upsetting fangame and wont REALY get in trouble.
Hell even ppl with good intention could do the same and completely miss interpret the characters yk??
Veteran btd fans saw this years ago -
IM NOT SAYING THE FANGAME CREATOR WOULD EVER DO THAT OR ANYTYING WITH BAD INTENTIONS! :0!! There art is grate and im sure they are LOVELY!
But keep that in mind with Everthing i said above how it might be a reasonable personal rule to have in such a small fandom. Especially if she had bad passed experiences
I think ppl misinterpret her words, not out of malice ! Im sure of it! , but (creating your own game based off my work) is much different than
(Creating a game using my characters and or plot or story)
I belive she ment ( you can make your own muderp%rn dating sim) like courten cowboys or lurking for love , lovers trophy , etc etc ! Maybe her wording was a misstranlation ? Or misinterpreted? , im on the spectrum so i have that problem too sometimes ! And Especially since gatos so flexible and vague its easy to missread /gen
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
To be Inspired by a work dosent mean to use the characters or plot, just like referencing when drawing ! Example, OFF and undertail was Earthbound inspired but they both dont use any characters ect OVER THE GARDEN WALL Was inspired by Dante's Inferno! But its not the same characters pulled out and used
I hope that helps/gen
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
I personaly believe stuff like that , what happened before and even in other fandom is why gato has that particular rule about not wrighting her characters at length. Not wanting to take the risk of someone miss using her characters again! /lh
I think its odd that ppl can Wright about sans undertail doing some weird ass shit and ppl dont scream about how toby fox approves of it . but they do for gato for some reason? ( if you could let me know why pls do ! )
" well ren was giving to gato so its not even hers"
That argument is silly to me, ren was giving as a gift, when you give a present to yourfriend is it yours anymore?? When a person buys an adoptable is it still the sellers?
Its not like gatos shy when saying she didnt creative ren, she was given him and modified him and still lets ppl know she didnt crate him .
Some of them use that as a talking point to say that said fangame creator is fine using that character in particularly as if hes free use, i DONT understand as someone who sells characters /designs(?)
( if you could explain i would appreciate it!)
The fangame devs are very talented the game seems fine from what i hurd! They did take creative liberties but its still very much gatos characters, I think they where respectable with them even in the contex of said game! . But i find it weird that the post says fanart for their fan game is appreciate ( at least in the English post i found prompting it) fan art of a fan game is confusing and i see how some ppl might mix the two up! Know?? like what would even be the tags? 'Sorrysorrybtd?' :0 So i can see how that could be another reason for the rule!
°I acknowledge and am so grateful that the artist. And devs worked so hard on the game and assets , im sure alot of ppl are as well! And im 100% sure it wasn't their intention to upset gato or anyone in that matter at all!
they are NoT obligated to apologize, maybe not make a second game out of respect(?) But thats their prerogative! They can do it , they wield the power yk?
BUT HARASSING ANY OF THE DEVS INVOLVED IS SO so so WEIRD???????
And making dramatic posts about it as well - it just rubs me the wrong way. Especialy using this as a opportunity to disrespect gato and ONE of her only rules she has for this very odd ( positive) fanbase. its kinda a little silly in my opinion . NOT to mention harassing the other game devs - this might make them not want to make any other games at all in the future ! D:
Please know i dont mean anything in this post to be upseting or malicious in anyway, i honestly think no one this fangane drama had any bad intentions or would do anything to upset anyone on purpose! I know its very high tension. And i would be upset too if a fangame i worked SO hard on with characters i love was met with disapprove instead of praise. And this is to say -this could have ben done better on gatos part. Thos could've ben done in privet imp
BUT im not gato , im not the other devs. im not in the positions to say ' i would've done this' bc ive never ben in that position, ive never had to deal with anything like this. So i wouldnt know what ild do in that moment ! And i think alot of ppl also forget that with all devs involved
We are all vary passonat in this fandom. But please dont start burnning bridge's over this! :'3 this fandom is already so devided due to all of our strong personal opinions it dosent realy need to be a. ' pick your side ' thing i dont think..
I am relatively new to the fandom, so i DONT know much about the past dramas srounding it, so if yall have anything youll like to say or add or educate me on PLEASS let me know and i will retract any of thoes statements !
#i had like 4 ppl read this for me#im actually going insane#this gives me so much anxiety#btd 2#btd#tpof

I think overarching plot is relatively easy to come up with, but how do you come up with smaller more filler-like events for your stories, like the plum-bee spats and corm training with egret? I’m having some trouble filling in the flesh of my own story, and was wondering if you had any insight.
Oh boy, real softball questions! Haha, but I can try to give you an answer for these.
I think the best way I can explain the first question is how I wrote PATFW, since it was much more heavily structured than my other comic (and more recent).
So, I started with the premise, the characters, and the general arcs I wanted each of them to go through. The premise helped me to establish the guidelines of this world, what kind of tone I would have for the story - moody and mysterious, so I knew that comedy would not be as frequent and characters might often take a turn towards more realistic drama.
The arcs of each character came with understanding what I wanted to do with them - do I want this person to get better, or get worse? Will they be a force of antagonism, or a side character, will they live or die? What point am I trying to get across with this character? Those kind of questions helped me know how they would interact with each other as well, so for instance a character like Daffodilpaw being friendly and cheerful, with her arc, would interact a specific way with dramatic and egotistical Beeface, for her arc. (Sorry I can't be more specific, but the comic's not done yet.)
Once you have a strong understanding these things - tone and characters - it's not too hard to let the story percolate in your mind. There's nothing wrong with just letting ideas float around in the back of your brain, instead of trying to force them all out right away. I actually wrote the ending of PATFW a couple months after I had started the comic, because the characters naturally led me to that conclusion. Here's an example of what I'm talking about with tone and characters leading to a small interaction that I hadn't previously planned like you asked about:
I have Rainhaze, and Ranger. Rainhaze is kind and brave, but currently very lost. Ranger is sadistic and enjoys feeling in control. So, I need a plot reason for Ranger to have not found BarrenClan. Well, Rainhaze being self-sacrificial, told him that BarrenClan all died and he's the last survivor. When Ranger finds out, it makes him feel tricked - he doesn't like that, so he threatens to kill Rainhaze. Rainhaze is self-sacrificial, as previously mentioned, and is now showing some suicidal tendencies, so he doesn't care if Ranger kills him. But Ranger then refuses to do so, having regained control, and twists the knife by letting him live while feeling suicidal. That's a pretty grim scene, which fits with the tone of the story well.
There you go - that's an interaction I hadn't plotted out the story with, but I was able to come to naturally by understanding the characters, the way their arcs are moving, and the tone of the story.
For this question, it's a little more tricky. The sad, honest answer is that there is no reliable way to do this. That's kind of how the Internet works. Unless you pay money to advertise, I suppose, you can't push a button that says "popularity points" and have it spit out readers. And sadly, sometimes movement only comes after you grind away, day after day, and don't give up. Here's a few things that might help, though.
Use multiple platforms. It's simple, but the more places you post, the more eyes you'll catch. Different websites/apps have different readerbases, too - Webtoons, ComicFury, Instagram, DeviantArt, Tumblr, Hiveworks, and others all have varying levels of attention and algorithims, and work that you have to do to keep up with an audience. Find whatever feels right for you and focus on one or two, but keep the others in your periphery.
Be consistent. People are more likely to actually keep up with a comic that updates every single week, rather than that posts a page or two and then ghosts for a month. Cough, cough, maybe you'll say - but I always set out with this comic to be a side project, and posting asks like this helps me continue to engage with an audience even when I'm not completing issues.
DON'T CARE! I know that seems like counterproductive advice, but seriously; you have to be okay with the fact that you might not get any attention. If you make a comic with the set goal of being popular, or even just worry about having readers, you're going to make yourself miserable. Obviously having attention is more fun, and more motivating, I won't deny that. But you need to be just as happy making a comic for 3 people than 3000 to make something you're proud of and not burn out in the process. If you're making something earnest, fun, interesting, passionate - people will come eventually.

Misc Headcanons
[Stuff I don't know how to make its own post]
legendary lost city buried under the sand somewhere; minecraft buried cities style
cliff cities- used to be a big fortress now just used for daily living
mostly specific monasteries
extremely good water recycling system- technology to make water out of hydrogen and oxygen in the air
if breakfasts are things that are easy to obtain then plomeek must be obtained regularly (e.g. grown throughout the year, incredibly hardy plants)
valley cities- alderaan style
shikahr historically very good land, less earthquakes and harsh conditions
large areas of the planet irradiated by radiation and theres not much they can do about it, no ones allowed to go there without special protection
some areas that are civilized have been ruined by their ancestors and are only just starting to restore its natural state
no birthdays but some places have a quincenera coming of age equivalent * sometimes in addition to the kahs-wan and taloth trials
Vulcans are pretty direct and so an acceptable form of making friends (although its really more like conversation partners) is to go up to a person and tell them that you share an interest and would like to talk about it. This is no guarantee youll ever interact again though.
Vulcan has a lot of jobs that are restricted to native citizens
Need mental contact to survive as babies the same way humans require touch
Tight knit families heralding from olden days. Almost mafia like in its web of connections. Additionally, alliances with certain clans meant status and power.
Alot of infighting between clans in the earlier days also
Similar to Ant colonies underground
Buildings have sections above and below ground
Above ground, buildings protected from sandstorms. Few windows, more doors. The less open to the elements the better.
Sehlats were tamed more recently than dogs, usually they would offer protection to the vulcans in exchange for food
Black and brown hair extremely common, genes for blond or red hair extremely rare
Early books made out of leather and a cotton-like fiber
later books made out of stone paper
Water very rare, lots of it is a sign of wealth.
Given the newness of logic, theyre not very good at it and struggle to apply it in day to day life. Additionally theyre good at lying to themselves about what emotion they may or may not have
Multiple different sects bc everyone has a different opinion on whats logical
Some are better adjusted than others because some try their absolute best to
Very preppy- high ego, strong social classes, pretentious, hide any faults, care alot about their reputation, fear being ostracized in their own community, many social rules
vulcans generally prefer to keep humans away from their sehlats because humans try to be overly affectionate with them and end up severely harmed
Vulcans get hit with winter depression even harder than other species but deal with it better. Their own ships are set up to have sun lamps all over the ship.
vulcans view mental illnesses with the same seriousness as physical ones.
not only can vulcans pass on mental disorders to their children but also strong phobias (and some philias) even those obtained through later trauma
typically mothers during pregnancy thought to occur during the mental bond
the prenatal mental bond can pass on memories as well but are typically suppressed till adulthood. its more of a folk wives tale thats corroborated enough that most people agree but technically had little proven evidence until recently
vulcans think murder by drowning is one of the worst most senseless murders ever
vulcans be like 🤓☝️well actually-
vulcan school systems dont have an above and beyond grade because the highest possible grade to get is by default you meeting the acceptable standards. that said, they do have extra awards given out for such behavior. although acceptable standards by vulcan standards is somewhat higher than is what is the case for human standards
vulcan kids still do the same 'kid logic' thing as humans because theyre trying to reason and understand the world using the logical reasoning skills being taught to them but they dont have enough information to make it accurate
Vulcan vegetables are bred to have a higher concentration of nutrients, a project that has been in development for the thousand some years since the awakening
passive cooling methods going back thousands of years; more advanced than human technologies
windcatcher like structures built to incorporate: the structure of the house, local weather, local geographical phenomena, etc.
heavily populated cities may have hybrid cooling systems that are integrated with modern technology to increase efficiency, this is less common in more rural areas where ppl are more likely to be 'if it aint broke dont fix it'. in most cases though they were so well designed that not much is needed aside from general maintenance
depending on the location, most vulcan homes are designed with the concept that a bedroom is exclusively for sleep and like wardrobe changing. you dont usually engage in hobby activities, doing those in a separate entertainment room or in the equivalent living room
like the rest of their society, vulcans incorporate more circles into their architectural designs than humans do and less squares than humans do
glass art is one of the oldest vulcan art forms. their planetary conditions work very well for it: lots of sand, high heat. and its an art that features alot of mathematically appealing shape language
ex. those curvy glass vases with the holes, floor mosaics with tinted glass, stained glass windows, suncatchers, etc.
in ancient times, betrothal jewelry (and other ceremonial purposes) were made partly with copper wire crafted from the blood of their enemies. some of these pieces (and spare wires) still exist. Vulcan clans that still practice this, obtain the blood ethically from dead animals (or in extremely rare occasions, consenting dead relatives)
STARSHIPS
Constructed so that every system is at max efficiency when used exactly perfectly how its meant to.
Its interlocking systems mean that it has millions of tiny unobtrusive glitches that can happen to the point where one can reasonably predict based on the type of glitch exactly what deeper system is failing and why
While it has normal passwords it mostly relies on each person to have their own special bioelectric pattern that is measured each time a user touches the console in order for them to input anything at all
They dont like outsiders on their ships as crew because they make tiny mistakes that while easily fixable, can mess up major systems
Sun lamps all over the ship as natural lighting, they gradually turn off according to the vulcan solar cycle and are replaced by a secondary lighting system that mimics candlelight. Although its kinda dark for humans its just fine for vulcans
Because of the size of their ships, they often have really large 'halls' that take up multiple decks and serve as visual space for the different wings connected to them
the vulcan warp rings compared to the human twin nacelles serve different attributes with the analogy being like a train versus a car. trains are faster but theyre also bulky, dont slow down well and arent designed to make quick on the spot diversions

word count (preview): 968 words
release date: 03/05/24
a/n: finally! my first over 10k word fic lol. this was requested to me by @scarlet789 and i immediately started working on it. you can send in an ask or reply below if you wish to be added to the taglist for this fic, coming out nest friday!
preview down below
"Hmm," Hyunjin hummed in contemplation to something you had said, "You know, I always liked your company more then Hyun-jee's. Don't tell her though." He had mischievous look in his eyes and a smirk on his lips, eliciting a laugh from within you and bringing back a memory you had forgotten.
You were still slightly awed by the fact that the Hwang Hyun-jee invited you to spend summer with her. At a ski lodge. A fricking ski lodge! The shocking revelation that you could be considered cool enough to hang out with her and her brother were the thoughts in your head as you stared at the copy of Emma in your hands, pretending to read the text.
Beside you, you could hear the steady scratching of pencil against paper, interrupted only by the symphony of an eraser rubbing against the sheet. This little orchestra playing next to you was evidence of Hyunjin's existence, an art in itself if anyone asked you.
"You should teach me French," he asks you out of the blue, "For when if leave to go to Paris."
You look at him inquisitively. He told you that he got accepted into art school in Paris a few days ago. You did feel sad about the fact that he was going, but deep down you knew very well that practically, after this summer your interactions with Hyunjin would be few and far in between.
"You have Hyun-jee, she can teach you. If, that is, you can put up with her," you retort teasingly.
Hyunjin gives you a sly smirk, "That's exactly why I was asking you. I think I'll like your style of teaching better. And so, I want you to please, please, please teach me French."
You had no idea where this sudden newfound confidence to flirt with Hyunjin had bloomed within you but, oh well, you only live once. "Do you want me teaching you, or just me in general?"
"Ah," he said shaking his head regretfully with a smile, "Even though you have only known me for a few weeks, you already know me too well."
Butterflies ignite in your stomach, although you're pretty sure he was just playing along with you. You wonder what he's sketching, his bottom lip caught between his teeth and his eyes set in concentration. Even though you have a feeling it isn't, you sincerely hope it's you.
You don't know that your hopeful assumption was true.
A tightening in you chest starts to grow when the topic shifts to love. Earlier, talking to Hyunjin about love used to come as easy walking on your two feet. Now, it just hurts. He asked you if you were seeing someone. You promptly replied in the negative. You asked him if he was seeing someone. He reflected your answer back onto you.
But what did it really mean? You were always going to be bound in this life by that unspoken oath you made to Hyun-jee all those years ago. It wasn't even about love anymore, it was about not breaking another person's trust, a person who you held closer to your heart than most of your family.
You started thinking though. What was the point of hiding your feelings, old or not, from Hyunjin any longer? It wasn't like you could act on it, but you may as well have told him. Maybe then a huge weight from your chest would be released and you wouldn't be shackled by commitments, things you felt you owed to both of them.
"I don't think you know this but," your expression suddenly changed, "I used to have the biggest crush on you that summer."
"Used to?" At this point, Hyunjin is sitting up straight, eyeing you curiously. You roll your eyes and give him a playful slap on his arm. His expression, however, turns into one of regret. You begin to feel remorseful about telling him, paranoia settling in and molding itself into the fabric of who you were.
"That's a shame," he says quietly.
The air changes, charged with something you can't quite place. Hyunjin hols eye contact with you, unsaid words coursing through them. You never really believed in the phrase 'the eye is the window to the soul', but right now, you were terrified of whatever the hell your eyes were revealing to him right now. Hyunjin then proceeds to utter something, something so capable of infusing you with poisoned hope, that it takes your breath away.
"I think I would have loved loving you."
Time has stopped. Feelings of desperation, annihilation and most importantly, temptation, cascade in a whirlpool inside you. It had been years. This was wrong. This was the universe dangling temptation in front of you, urging you to just take a bite. Rebelliously, you wondered, what if you were selfish for one? Why were you feeling this way now?
"I think I would have loved being loved by you," you choke out. Hyunjin's hand laces through yours and gives it a little squeeze in response.
That is when it dawns on you that Hyunjin is as confined in this matter as you, if not more. Hyun-jee is his sister for God's sake; whatever guilt you felt in wanting him, he must have felt tenfold in wanting you. You know exactly what the little squeeze he gave you signifies: It will pass. If it cannot be, it will cease.
And you know it's true because you and Hyunjin can never be 'us' or 'we' as long as you were present in this reality. You wished there was a universe somewhere, a parallel reality when Hyunjin and you were considered of one breath because to breath you would need him like oxygen.
Judging by his expression, he must have been drifting in thought about that too.

Curious Time - Lando Norris
Lando Norris x Singer!reader
Multiple part series where their friendship was easy, their feelings were confusing and the distance was the hardest <3
(Third person perspective)
!!explicit content warning: 18+!!
PART 5 -
CONVINCED ME
“You convinced me that I can't know if I never try. Love me like you do, you make me feel so new.”
Lando knew she wasn't for him. He was sick of being alone, almost the entire paddock had girlfriends, people who didn't doubt their relationship, someone who'd fight for him like he would do for her.
Lacy was passing time and that time had passed. After the call with Pippa he was inconsolable, no tears left his eyes, that wasn't how he dealt with things. But he was almost mute, only answering yes or no to any questions asked. He left Saskia in his bed no goodbye or anything and got on his flight to Singapore. Arguably the hardest race of the season, the weather was draining when you were out of the car, the sickness he felt within the car was unmatched. Until now. This loneliness looming over him couldn't be topped he felt.
Press day looming, he wasn't in any state to speak to anyone, act with his teammate or interact with fans. He wanted none of it. He wanted to do the race. Then fly to y/n. His flight was booked, no one knew he couldn't risk them telling her and her running away or attempting to convince her otherwise. He needed her in anyway, he just needed her.
She was aware of how he was feeling, she over heard max and him on the phone when she was visiting P. She couldn't pull herself away from the conversation. She ruined her chance with him and now she's destroyed his relationship with Lacy. She felt awful.
She planned before the album dropped to have a break from social appearances and interviews as once November 4th hit they'd be non stop. But her time was consumed with worry, about her future, about his, about everything. Her needed rest was anything but that.
She kept updated with Lando at the Singapore Grand Prix with his performance last year ending up second, all eyes were on McLaren.
Qualifying was here, Lando was in the zone flying in Q1 and Q2. She hoped he was channeling everything to keep him going. Q3 wasn't awful ending up 6th place, not the best place to start on the street circuit but similarly not the worst.
One thing she loved about Lando was his ability to let go as soon as his helmet was on, she's glad that was a trait he could still channel following the recent turmoil she'd caused for him.
She believed she'd blown all chance. Contact was less the minimum, his name didn't even grace her instagram likes anymore. Total radio silence. And she was struggling, the girls would take her out, introduce her to their friends. But the same rule applied, they weren't him. And although she couldn't have him, she certainly didn't want anyone else.
P2! Again Lando finished P2 in the race of his life it looked like. She cheered, reaching for her phone, only to put it down right away. It's not your place anymore she told herself.
Lando was ecstatic, the first positive emotion he'd felt in weeks. Although he wanted to celebrate with the team, he wanted to get to her more. Rushing out of the paddock jumping in his car, not before throwing his hat to a group of young boys waiting for him, watching them fight over it in his rear view as he drove away.
He rested for a few hours once he got to London, hoping no pictures of him had reached her timeline. A few hours of sleep he caught up on, before heading to her. He prayed she was in, it'd be just his luck if she wasn't.
It was 8pm, she's ready for an early night. Make up removed, hair falling slightly messily over her shoulders and matching pyjamas set covering her figure.
Making a cup of tea before bed, she pottered in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boiled when a knock made her jump out of her skin as it echoed through her apartment.
The face appearing before her was the last person on earth she expected.
"Lando? What? Um, hi. What?" So startled sentence ran through her head but failed to reach her lips. She stepped aside for him to come in not saying anything else.
He looked tired but gorgeous as always, he too didn't say a word he just looked at her. She couldn't read his expression, maybe due to it being so long since she's seen him or because he wasn't sure what he was feeling himself.
!!!
He finally spoke, "don't say a word." He demanded, grabbing both sides of her face and pushing his body against hers so her back hit the door behind her. He kissed her softly but only for a second before it intensified. She was lost in the moment, her hands lifting up to get lost in his curls, pulling on them as he leaves her lips abandoned before he continues kissing and biting down her neck to her collarbones.
Her mind catches up with her, her voice small and out of breath from the kiss, "Lando. Lando! Wait." He stopped immediately, worried he'd taken it too far.
"Are you sure you want this? Are you just going to leave me tomorrow? You have every right to be angry but I don't want either if us to regret this." She's right, it'll be their first time sleeping together, hell that was their first time kissing each other more than just a peck.
He knew he wouldn't regret it, he was still upset. But he wouldn't regret it, he's wanted this for the last 2 years, he's needed this for the past 6 months.
"Y/n/n, it feels right doesnt it? Don't worry about tomorrow, do you want this now?" God she does her legs are already weak from the kiss, doing there best to relive some tension rubbing together.
No words necessary she attached her lips back to his all the confirmation he needed.
His hands slipped below her bare legs hoisting her up, she instinctively wrap your legs around his waist, moaning softly into his mouth as she feels him, hard, rubbing against her. He wanders straight into her bedroom, she praises herself for doing some decluttering earlier that day.
He rests her down on the bed, taking her in hair splayed out, "candles, huh? Were you expecting me?" He jokes. Humour right now is not appreciated by her as she leans up grabbing his hoodie pulling him on top of her.
He rest between her legs once more, arms beside her holding his weight above her. He pulls back from her kisses once more to which she groans in frustration.
"I don't think you're in the position to be demanding anything from me baby."
Baby
She's desperate for him and he's taking his sweet time. "Lando please." She whimpers trying to pull him down again, missing his lips against hers.
"Fuck say it again baby. Beg for me. Show me that you deserve it."
"Please. Please. I'll be good. Touch me, kiss me anything. Please"
He dives back down lips attacking her neck straight away, kissing, biting, marks being made down to her collarbones.
"Can I take this off?" He slides the strap off of her shoulder signalling he wants her naked infront of him.
She nods staring at him almost bewildered, she can't believe this is happening. She's hidden her feeling for so long and here he is undressing her after she believed she wouldn't see him again.
He pulls off her top shorts leaving her completely vulnerable in front of him. Her nipples hard point at him, he's staring think, God she's beautiful. Not a single imperfection in his eyes. Her skin smooth to the touch, freckles delicately scattered over her body, her lips puffy, cheek flushed and marks from him littering her neck.
She notices him analysing her and instinctively goes to attempting to cover her bare body before him. Her arms wrap themselves around her chest, wondering if he likes what he sees or if he's changed his mind.
He grabs her wrists, holding them about her head with one of his large hands. "Don't." He says.
"Please don't hide yourself from me. You're perfect. You're mine and you're perfect." He kisses her once more wrists still pinned, she tries to fight it desperately wanting to touch him, get him out of his clothes and inside her. The more she resists the more he tightens.
"Lando. Do something please I'm begging you." She's throbbing at this point begging for his touch, desperate for it.
"Whatever you want, baby."
He removes his hoodie, she gapes at his body one she'd seen hundreds of times before but never it hovering over her, fuck.
He kisses from her neck down her chest, flicking her nipples with his tongue earning another moan from her. Taking them in her mouth biting and sucking gently as his hand travels down her stomach and between her legs. He'd never felt someone this desperate for him before. His slender fingers toy with her clit as her back arches from the contact, he inserts one finger, followed by another, his thumb now concentrating on her clit. She's moaning and writing at his touch.
He shuffles down her bed lips now attaching her clit, tongue swirling in circles whilst his fingers dance inside her.
"Lando. I'm so- don't- don't stop." Her body quivering beneath him his unoccupied arm laying across or stomach now to try and limit some movement.
Her body shakes as she reaches her highs, chanting his name louder and louder.
"Fuck." She exclaims.
"We're not done yet baby. You going to let me take care of you again?" His fingers finding the drawstring of his joggers pulling them off completely.
"Let me do something for you Lan, please" she looks at him through hooded eyes, looking exhausted already.
"No baby it's all about you right now." He removes the cloth of his boxers, setting her knees up beside him as she lays on her back.
"You ready baby? Can you take it?"
"I need it. Please I need to feel you." She cries out, he taps his tip on her now extremely sensitive clit before allowing himself to sink into her.
"Fuck" he whispers, she's gripped around him in a perfect fit. She was perfect for him.
Thrusting deeper and deeper, as she chants his name gripping onto any part she can. His arms are tattooed with the marks of her nails raking down them as she reaches her second high of the night, it hitting her hard.
Lando slows the rhythm as she begs him to be gentle clearing becoming overwhelmed and overstimulated. "You going to let me cum inside you baby? Can I fill you up?"
"Daddy please. Please"
Daddy. That finished it for him, hoping he could go a bit longer but once that word left her lips he was done for. He swears that's the most intense it's felt.
He gently removes himself from her, entering her en suite, grabbing the first towel he sees. Re entering her room she's propped herself up on her elbows, looking for him as if he's disappeared, slightly delirious. He wipes off what's leaked from her. Urging her to move up under the covers.
"Thank you for coming Lan." She sighs, wrapped in his arms, she's deeply missed being his little spoon. "I don't know what changed your mind. But thank you for being here."
"I'm glad I'm here but I don't want to talk about that right now. Just want to enjoy you and that great sex we had." He smirks into her shoulder, avoiding the dressing topic they'd both have to face at some point.
"Hmm I'd give it a 3/10." She mocks, knowing that's a complete lie.
"That's why you were screaming daddy at me right, baby? Where did that come from?" His smile getting wider and cockier at the minute.
"Please don't. It's your fault anyway.”
If that's his fault, he'd love to be to blame all day everyday. She's finally back in his arms and for now he's enjoying this ignorant bliss.

This!!!! Oh my god!!! I really did like landoscar fics at first. But the way the amount of fics now that just portray Carlos as the bad guy is insane!!! And it's not just landoscar but lestappen fics too!
Carlos always ends up being the antagonist or the ex that was horrible and well as you've said a ab*ser. I get it that it's fiction and it's their writing and they're free to do whatever they want.
And I understand that sometimes in some plots why Carlos had to be the bad guy. It makes sense plot wise. Great. You're free to write what ever you want.
But there's a line that should not be crossed. And they cross it all the time.
And sometimes you can clearly tell that they do not like Carlos just from how they write him. Especially in fics where Charles or Oscar are the main protagonist in lestappen and landoscar fics because the writer will always make Carlos this horrible character. And it’s always the fics with lestappen and landoscar as side ship or vice versa. Which again ok everyone has their fav drivers and are free to have opinions but the way they are so easy and quick to make Carlos (a real person that they don’t know personally) an ab*ser.
The way I have backed out of multiple ongoing fics that i did like recently because they didn’t tag it properly (probably for like a shock element) and Carlos was this ab*ser character and was horrible to poor Charles and Lando and Oscar and Max were this saviour protecting them from big bad Carlos. One fic is somewhat understandable but multiple fics that’s just hating and being vile towards Carlos is insane. And making him this character that is always this ab*ser like character.
The way this behavior has turned me away from lestappen (which was how i got into f1 rpf bc I loved them and still do but i just cannot read or appreciate them anymore) and landoscar is actually crazy. I have been in multiple fandoms with ships that I don’t like and let the shippers be. Always been a firm believer in “don’t like don’t read/dni” but sometimes you have to interact and call what they’re doing wrong. It’s not even the ships that are bad it’s the shippers. They are so toxic and this toxicity makes you turn away from the whole ship.
Sorry if this doesn’t make sense but yeah…
Anon, this made incredibly sense, and I have to share this because I have never heard truer words. I, too, have had to clock out of ongoing fics because of this, I just can’t stand it when Carlos becomes the bad character, sometimes even without a logical reason at all!
Like once I was reading this Landoscar fic and all of a sudden they just straight out started saying that Carlos was stupid and an idiot and he was an asshole, but that didn’t even fit in the entire dialogue the characters were having!
In another fic, they went as far as k*lling Carlos, just because they hated him.
This is not fiction, this is a problematic mentality. I get that you can despise someone, but as anon said that’s just taking it too far and it has become extremely toxic and disgusting.

June of Doom Day 17 - "You don't want to do that."
| Struggle | Blackmail | Desperate Measures |
Characters: Rowan, Sawyer
I think this counts for desperate measures?
Also I got a little too into this writing and got some ideas for making a similar scene like this canon soon >:D If it looks like I rushed at the end you're totally just imagining things (spoiler: yes i did end up rushing the ending--)
CW: Heavily implied noncon, yandere/intimate whumper, forced marriage, depressed whumpee, multiple whumpers(?), failed escape
...
Sawyer had managed to get on Rowan's good side again recently. It wasn't easy, and it took a lot of effort on his part, but he managed to convince him he wouldn't run again. And to a certain degree, he meant it.
He didn't want to run because he didn't want any other innocent people dying, or just getting tortured in the basement. Even the thought of getting locked in that damn shed again made him feel sick.
But still, the desire to escape and return to his normal life plagued his mind. He craved human interaction. He missed his friends, and even the creeps at Indigo. At least those creeps made him money.
And over time, he grew depressed. No matter how many times Rowan assured him he loved him, he didn't feel loved. He felt like a prisoner, a doll he liked to play with. Their relationship had changed drastically; now that he was no longer had the motivation to rebel and escape, Rowan would rather coax him into getting things over with instead of forcing him.
He no longer felt like a person. He wasn't allowed to do anything for himself, and he spent most of his time doing chores or sleeping.
He tried talking to Rowan about getting back to work at Indigo, just to sing on the weekends, but it only earned him a harsh scolding.
"Good evening, darling!" Rowan sang as he entered the kitchen. He went straight for Sawyer, kissing the top of his head. "How was your day?"
Every day, Rowan asked the same question. It was pretty funny, considering he knew how his day was, considering he'd only leave him alone for ten minutes at a time.
Today Rowan gave him a little extra privacy, since he spent a while outside. It was odd behavior, but he thought nothing of it. "You know how it was." He gave a little shrug. "When you were gone, I just cleaned the kitchen."
He'd already done it twice today, but he was bored out of his mind. Being stuck here had turned his life from mildly boring to unbearably mundane.
He barely had any hobbies outside of singing, and he hated whenever Rowan caught him even humming. So his only form of entertainment was cleaning.
Rowan sighed, but kept smiling. "Don't sound so glum! I have a surprise for you outside by the dock."
"A surprise...?" he repeated slowly. He felt like he was being tricked, but he had been on his best behavior. There wasn't any reason for Rowan to be deceitful. He hoped.
He wrapped his arms around his waist, lifting him up from the chair. "Yup, and it's a special one too." He took Sawyer's hand and walked with him through the sliding door. They stepped through the grass, passing by the empty garden. It wasn't the dock itself Rowan was talking about, but what was close by the dock, the overgrown gazebo Sawyer recognized from his early captivity.
Fairy lights had been hung up, shining brightly under the darkening sky. He saw a small table with two chairs. There was a glass vase filled with roses, and a bottle of wine sitting in the middle.
"We're eating outside?" Sawyer guessed.
"Yes," Rowan chirped. "But that's not all, come on." He tugged Sawyer's hand to make him speed up. Rowan was too excited, and Sawyer was worried. He guided them to the steps of the gazebo, leading him up them.
Sawyer took a seat once they got to the tables. He watched Rowan fidget with something with his back turned, but didn't have the energy to worry.
Worst case scenario? Rowan would shoot him. Best case scenario? Rowan would shoot him.
He sat back in the chair, closing his eyes for a moment. He inhaled, and the crisp night air felt good. It was actually sort of nice to be outside, but it didn't do much to calm his nerves. He listened to the quiet sounds of the outdoors.
It was peaceful, despite the fact he had no idea what Rowan wanted from him. Sawyer looked down at the spaghetti on their plates. Rowan must've made it when Sawyer took a quick nap on the couch.
"What's the occasion?" Sawyer asked. Rowan finally turned to him, pocketing whatever he was messing with.
"Can't a man want a romantic dinner with his boyfriend?" Rowan chuckled. He pulled his own chair back to take a seat.
Sawyer didn't even have the energy to laugh. 'Boyfriend'. Yeah, right. More like stalker, abuser, kidnapper. The list went on and on. He prodded at his food. "I appreciate the dinner." He didn't feel like eating, but he knew that'd upset Rowan. He learnt how to pick his fights over the past few weeks. "But why are we eating outside?"
Rowan popped the cork of the wine. He filled their glasses, then drank from his own. "I just had a feeling that you would like this," he answered. "It's healthy to get some fresh air every now and then. Plus, look at this view."
He gestured to the sunset in the distance. It was breathtakingly gorgeous, Sawyer had to admit. He'd never seen such a picturesque scene before, yet he had no enthusiasm towards it.
It was like a piece was missing. He didn't feel excited or happy or free, he felt numb.
It was almost scary, how quickly his mindset had shifted. He went from being a hot headed spitfire who was determined to escape, to a broken shell of a man who did everything in his power to appease his deranged kidnapper.
He supposed being isolated for so long did that to a person.
He managed to force himself to eat some of the food, just to get Rowan off his back. It felt like a rock settling in his stomach. It was even worse when Rowan kept touching his arm, rubbing small circles over his skin.
It felt so wrong, yet Sawyer couldn't do anything about it. He didn't even try to pull away anymore. It was useless.
The silence between them felt like a vice grip, squeezing tighter and tighter. Rowan kept stealing glances at him, but Sawyer didn't even notice.
The sound of Rowan clearing his throat snapped him back to reality. "Do you like it?" he asked. He reached out to brush a stray hair from Sawyer's cheek, tucking it behind his ear.
"Yeah." Sawyer nodded, only because he had no other choice. "It's amazing. Thank you."
That made Rowan smile. "Good." He finished the rest of his wine, then stood up and reached back into his pocket. Sawyer could hardly see what it was because Rowan had the small object held tightly in both hands.
Then, suddenly, he knelt. Sawyer's brows knitted together, confused. This couldn't be good.
"Sawyer." Rowan cleared his throat. He took a deep breath, holding out a ring box. When he opened it, a band of silver rested inside, shining in the fairy lights above. "Will you marry me?"
Sawyer had never been so speechless in his entire life. He almost couldn't breathe, he had to swallow to keep his mouth from hanging open. His hands clenched into fists, digging his nails into his palms to keep from tearing his hair out. Of all the things Sawyer thought he would do, this wasn't one of them. This was far beyond insanity.
But then again, Rowan had never been stable to begin with.
"Sawyer, my love, please say something." Rowan's voice was almost shaky. For once he didn't look cocky, he looked scared. Maybe scared wasn't the right word. It was more like a plea.
He really cared about the answer, and Sawyer had no idea why. If Rowan wanted to get married, he could easily force it.
Then again, Sawyer was starting to realize Rowan didn't want to be forceful. He wasn't a (completely) sadistic man.
He really wanted Sawyer to love him. It was sad, almost. Rowan was so pathetic in this moment that Sawyer almost felt bad for him. But that was hard when he remembered the murders and abuse and torture.
"Do you actually care for what I have to say, or do you just expect me to say yes?" Sawyer spoke slow and soft, a stark contrast to Rowan's tense tone.
Rowan looked ready to cry. "If you don't like the ring, I can get you another one! I-I was stuck between silver or gold, but you seemed to like silver more. Am I wrong? Or we could do something entirely different! Something unique, like you. I wouldn't mind, this one only cost me a few thousand." He was rambling, which was almost amusing, in its own morbid way.
Sawyer sighed heavily. He wasn't in the mood to deal with this bullshit. It was ridiculous how much Rowan tried to force this illusion of a loving relationship on him.
An idea popped into his head. "Where would we have the ceremony? Or, uh, the honeymoon?"
"Anywhere you want."
He was surprisingly agreeable, given how protective of him he was. "Could I invite my family and friends?" Not that his family would willingly come. They'd probably be happier to come to his funeral than wedding, even if it was a real wedding.
Rowan hesitated. "I can't do that, honey. It's not worth the risk. But I can bring some of my family! They'd be supportive of us. You would like them." His tone was hopeful. "My cousin is a preacher, so we don't have to go through the trouble of finding someone."
The response was exactly what Sawyer expected. "Great," he said flatly. Maybe this would give him a better escape-route. "Then... I accept. Your proposal, I mean."
He didn't mean for it to come out like they were making a business deal, but he didn't see it as anything else. It was a terrible decision, but one that he felt he needed to make in order to keep what little sanity Rowan had left.
And even if he couldn't get an escape out of it, being legally married wouldn't change much for him.
Rowan didn't seem to notice Sawyer's lack of enthusiasm. He slipped the ring onto Sawyer's finger, then kissed the back of his hand. "Perfect fit," he whispered. "I love you." He kissed his hand again, staring up at him with watery eyes. "I love you so so much."
...
Their "wedding" was being held at a vineyard, since apparently his sister owned one. It took just two months to plan, but it was planned to the nines.
Everything was perfect to Rowan.
For Sawyer, it was the opposite. The flowers weren't the ones he wanted. The decorations were tacky. He was dressed in a suit that made him feel like he was being choked. And to make things worse, the guests consisted of people he never met before. Rowan explained that they were distant cousins and aunt and uncles, but that did little to comfort him.
If he could just find the right moment to escape or beg for help when Rowan finally left his side, then maybe everything would be okay.
He found it slightly odd how accepting almost his entire family was of this. None of them commented on how fast they were getting married, or the fact they never met Sawyer before and now they were just jumping into getting wed.
He assumed they had a little knowledge of his tendencies beforehand.
"Rowan!" a man called.
Sawyer glanced over. It was a guy who was just a few inches taller than him, having messy light brown hair and pale blue eyes. He wore a black dress shirt, and jeans. He seemed to be in his mid-20s. The man embraced Rowan in a tight hug.
"Griffin! Good to see you," Rowan said as they parted. "Where's Felicity, by the way?"
The younger man crossed his arms. "Wooow, that's all I get? Anyway, she's trying to make sure Jessica doesn't try to ruin everything." He laughed. Sawyer noticed Rowan scowl at the name, but didn't get any time to think about why, as Griffin was already making eye-contact with him. "So is this Sawyer?" He flashed a smile. "Damn, Rowan, you picked a good one." He pretended to be hurt when Rowan hit him across the head. "Ow! I was joking! I hope Sawyer knows he's about to marry a dick."
"Sawyer," Rowan started. "This is my little brother, Griffin. Don't mind him, he was dropped on his head as a baby."
Their bickering gave Sawyer some kind of illusion of normalcy, but it was quickly shattered when Rowan gripped his shoulder. Sawyer hadn't even noticed him move. Griffin waved goodbye before leaving, and Sawyer watched him go.
They walked a while to their destination. There were some other people mingling in the halls, and even more outside in the garden.
Some of the other guests took notice of the pair and congratulated them, and Rowan would thank them and dismiss himself as politely as possible.
Sawyer thought he'd only be seeing Rowan after the whole ceremony, but apparently he seemed to have no issue breaking the typical wedding traditions.
Who he assumed was Felicity greeted them both. She looked the most similar to Rowan, having a darker shade of hair and darker purple eyes from behind her glasses.
"It's lovely to meet you, Sawyer," she said, her voice more reserved than her brothers'. "I'm sure you'll take good care of my little brother, won't you?" She offered a teasing smile.
"Uhm, yeah, I'll try. He's been great to me," he lied, forcing a smile back.
"Oh, by the way, where's Jess?" Rowan cut in. He still hadn't let go of Sawyer's shoulder.
"Right here."
Great. Another one. Sawyer was getting tired of meeting new people already. She had long brown hair and green eyes, wearing a knee-length emerald dress.
She didn't look too happy to be here, but it was hard to tell when she hardly showed any emotion. "What? Got a problem?" She swirled what appeared like white wine in her glass. "I thought this was a party."
Sawyer almost wanted to laugh at her exaggerated 'rich person' voice. Rowan did not. "It is, and it's a celebration for my marriage. I hope you don't go making yourself the center of attention like you did at Griffin's graduation party."
Jessie's nose wrinkled. "You'll never live that down, will you?"
It was moments like these that Sawyer was reminded Rowan was human. It was sweet to see him care for his brother and sister, and the rest of his family (save for his aunt). Sawyer reminded himself to not feel guilty for planning an escape. Rowan did not deserve his pity.
After a while longer of mingling, Sawyer and Rowan separated to put on their actual wedding clothes. Sawyer was dragged off by Felicity, and Rowan by Griffin. He watched Felicity grab a white suit with a black dress shirt and tie out of the closet. The white fabric was covered with delicate lace designs. It looked custom-made and beyond expensive. He didn't even realize he never saw his suit until now.
As much as Rowan liked to pretend he cared, Sawyer's opinion didn't matter to him.
"Rowan sure has a lot of family," Sawyer exhaled. He got into his suit while Felicity turned around. He had no idea why she was here, but maybe it was a good thing. He could finally get some help.
She hummed. "Yes, it's quite a lot, and most of them didn't even show up. Rowan has been wanting to get married for a while now. I'm happy he's finally found someone. He's always been a lonely guy, so it's nice to know he's going to settle down."
Sawyer finished dressing in his suit, wondering if he should rip the bandaid or not. He felt like he was on a timer and needed to get this done now. He tried to steady his breathing. "Rowan kidna--"
Felicity stepped forwards to fix his crudely done tie. "Did you know he told me that he first saw you when he was visiting that club you sing at? He wouldn't stop talking about it. I had to cut him off an hour into our call to tell him I had to go. Every time he'd call me from that day, you were always the main topic of conversation. He's tried to talk about you with Griff, but he's more interested in doing... whatever it is he does."
"So did he tell you... um..." No way he told her, right? She had to be oblivious, no way--
"He kidnapped you? No, but I figured it out pretty quick. He's had a history of obsessing over people, he got in trouble for it a lot in high school," she chuckled, as if this was funny. "And the way he described you, well... I gathered you weren't very interested in him romantically. Or at all."
Sawyer swallowed hard. "And you're treating this like it's normal?"
With a sigh, she nodded. "Listen. I know you think you don't want this, but when you get to know him, you'll see he's a great guy. His heart is in the right place, and I'm tired of seeing him so depressed and self-destructive all the time. He needs someone to balance him out. Maybe that person can be you. It already seems to be working, honestly."
He gaped at her. "You... you can't be serious..." He shook his head, desperate. "He doesn't need me, he needs fucking therapy! If not that, then prison! He killed a man, did he tell you that too? He's insane and--"
"I can see that you're not very open to this," she cut in. "So I'll give you a little advice. Just don't bother fighting it. Things will be better for you if you go along with it, and it'll be easier for everyone."
She left the room, leaving Sawyer even more distraught than he was before.
Fuck that. He had to get out of here.
Sawyer peeked out the window. There was a decent drop, but it looked like he could climb out and reach the ground safely. He didn't care about damaging the suit, he just wanted to escape.
He scrambled to the window and threw it open. It didn't have a screen, luckily. He hoisted himself up and was about to make his escape when a voice resounded the room.
"You don't want to do that," he heard Rowan say.
Sawyer's heart raced. He didn't know what to say, but it turned out he didn't need to. He was just glad he was still facing away from him, he didn't want Rowan to see his tears.
"Come back in. Close the window, then turn around and face me." Sawyer didn't move. "Or else I'll just postpone the wedding because you mysteriously broke your legs."
Sawyer gritted his teeth. He knew Rowan's threats weren't bluffs, so he reluctantly pushed the window back shut.
He turned to him, but refused to make eye-contact.
"Good boy." Rowan walked over to him and pulled him into his chest. Sawyer hated how natural it felt to be there. "Are you scared, love? Do I frighten you?" Sawyer didn't respond, but it didn't seem like Rowan expected him to. "It didn't have to be this way. I thought you would've realized this by now. But that's okay." His breath ghosted his lips and his voice turned into a hissing whisper. "I'll just reserve my anger for our honeymoon. I'm not letting this night be ruined."
He heard footsteps approaching and turned his head, just as the door opened. "Rowan?" Griffin called. "We're about to start."
Rowan released Sawyer and smiled. "Coming!" He reached down to hold Sawyer's hand, dragging him out with him.
The ceremony was just a blur for Sawyer. He tried his best to zone out, but he still felt Rowan's heavy stare on him the entire time. He said his vows without stuttering, but he was a wreck on the inside.
This was something he never wanted to do. He wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
Rowan's grip on his hands was almost bruising. "I do." He squeezed even harder.
"And do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, 'till death do you part?"
'Till death do us part', Sawyer thought. For some reason, it felt like he was selling his soul to the devil in that moment. He bit down on his lip to the point it bled. "I do."
"I now pronounce you husband and... husband. You may kiss the groom."
The kiss was chaste, but it still felt like a million bugs crawling all over his body. Rowan seemed to have no remorse, he was practically beaming. Sawyer had tears running down his eyes, but it seemed everyone around him thought they were happy tears. He let his shoulders slump and he tried to get out of Rowan's grasp, but Rowan would never allow that. He held his hand throughout the reception, as well. Sawyer just stopped fighting a while ago.
The cake was nice, and he drank a shit ton of alcohol to try to dull the pain. Everyone just thought he was nervous. Rowan's family was too happy to assume anything was wrong, and Sawyer just couldn't bring himself to speak up.
Griffin was the only one who asked if he was okay, but he was quickly pulled away to go dance by Rowan.
Sawyer could only silently dread waiting to find out what Rowan meant when he mentioned saving his anger for their honeymoon.

IOTA Reviews: Illusion
You know, It's really sad how this is a Lila episode, and she somehow isn't the most annoying character to come out of it.
Let's get into the fifth episode of Miraculous Ladybug's fifth season: Illusion
We start off with a news broadcast where several people are interviewed about the recent developments this season. There's an attempt made to show differing perspectives, but while half are recurring characters who are confident Ladybug and Cat Noir will beat Monarch (Xavier, Mr. Damocles, and Alec), the other half are antagonistic characters who either blame Ladybug for everything going wrong or are too stupid to care about the bigger picture (XY, Chloe, and Bob Roth).
This is one of the overarching problems with the show, its refusal to show any nuance in its arguments. We already know how easy it is for the writers to blame Marinette for things whenever there's a conflict, but whenever there's an argument where both sides make interesting points, the opposing side is almost always represented by an antagonist or jerk who frames their view in either a condescending or idiotic way so it's easy for the viewer to brush them off, and the same can be applied to their side of the argument as well. Hell, it's already happened twice this season with Lila and Chloe (Multiplication, Determination). It just comes across like the show is pretending to act like its conflict is deeper without actually showing any real nuance with it. I get that some arguments aren't morally gray, but if you're trying to discuss Ladybug's past failures, put more effort into showing how the people of Paris would see something like this without knowing the full context.
Also, this is a minor thing, but I actually like how when we see Alec on the talk show, he's wearing a wig like the one he had in “Wishmaker”, and has the same positive outlook on life he had at the end of that episode. For a show that usually plays loosey-goosey with its continuity, it's surprising to see the writers actually acknowledge the character growth of someone as insignificant as Alec.
Congratulations, Miraculous Ladybug. You managed to give a very minor side character a consistent arc. Now if only you could put the same amount of effort into writing your main cast.
We cut to Adrien's room where, shock of all shocks, he isn't exactly a fan of his image being used for a high-tech ring without his consent. He storms off to see his father, but it turns out that Gabriel is experimenting with the idea of not being such a terrible father for once. He's making breakfast, saying that Adrien can call him “Dad” now, and even admits that he's been very neglectful towards his son ever since Emilie “disappeared”. Yeah, he's cooking breakfast in his white suit and haircut that makes him look like a grandpa for some reason, but hey, at least the kitchen isn't on fire.
Of course, Gabriel still isn't really good at comforting his son, as seen with his response to Adrien's concerns about Alliance.
Adrien: Speaking of which, Dad, I'm not really comfortable with having my face on all these rings. That's actually why I didn't want to be a model anymore, to avoid that. Do you understand?
Gabriel: Of course, I understand, my son. But that's the point; it's just an image, it's not you! And since this image frees you from your obligations, we, the Agrestes, are able to spend more time together. But if you'd rather everything went back to the way it was before, just say the word.
Adrien: You're probably right.
Gabriel: You'll see, my son. Alliance will bring us closer.
“I know you're concerned about me using your image for something that I could have hired literally anyone else for, but if you would rather go back to being a model on a strict schedule, just say the word.”
Father of the year, ladies and gentlemen.
We get a decent interaction between Marinette and Alya where they discuss ways that Monarch could be giving Miraculous to his Akumas, unaware of what the Alliance rings do. Alya comes up with an interesting hypothesis that Monarch is using the Dog Miraculous to swipe them back, and honestly, that sounds like a much better plan than “develop a cutting-edge AI ring and hope whoever I akumatize had enough money to buy one”. I like this bit, as it shows the two thinking of ways to stop Monarch beyond beating whatever Akuma he sends out next. It honestly could have been a really interesting story arc to see Marinette, Cat Noir, and Alya learn more about how Monarch is using the new Miraculous he got instead of having us know what he's doing already.
After class ends, Nino talks to Adrien about an underground resistance he's forming with his friends, deciding to give each member a condiment-themed title.
Alya: What's up with the sauces?
Nino: What's up is Ladybug and Cat Noir don't have us to help them anymore.
Alya: (nervously) Um... uh... what do you mean, “us”?
Nino: Well, us, you Rena Rouge, me Carapace! (Alya kicks Nino's leg underneath the table) Ouch! What's the big deal? We can tell Marinette and Adrien we used to be superheroes. It's not like we have any Miraculous that Monarch could steal from us. The only ones who need to protect their secret identities are Ladybug and Cat Noir, not us. And anyway, I already told Adrien about Carapace.
Adrien: (chuckles nervously)
Marinette: Adrien knew?! Alya, did you know that he knew?!
Alya: What, no, I swear I didn't know at all! (kicks Nino's leg again)
Nino: Ow! Come on! He's my best bud, I can tell him stuff! You and Marinette tell each other stuff, don't you?
Alya and Marinette: No we don't!
Yeah, remember how shocking it was for Nino to reveal that he and Alya were Rena Rouge and Carapace to Adrien in “Rocketear”, and how we thought this reveal would play into something big like the Season 4 finale, possibly splintering the trust several characters had with each other? This is what it culminates in. Wasn't waiting over a year since that plotpoint was established totally worth it for that gag that once again ignores the secret identity rule?
Also, just because you don't have a Miraculous, it doesn't mean Monarch can't target you like he did last season (Optigami, Sentibubbler), you dumbass.
For the first time in God knows how long, Lila actually becomes relevant when she asks to sit with the four, only to be rebuffed by Marinette and Nino. Using some more condiments and food as props, Nino explains his plan.
Nino: We're gonna film an akumatization.
Alya: And how are you, Comrade Ketchup, gonna be in the know when and where this akumatization takes place?
Nino: Easy, Comrade Beurre Maître d'Hôtel. I'm gonna make it happen.

Yep, this is the plot of the episode, people. Nino's going to try and get someone akumatized. Now I know what you're all obviously thinking: Isn't this cruel?
Adrien: Isn't that cruel?
Alya: Totally! To make someone suffer just to discover Monarch's technique? Super cruel!
Nino: No, it's not! You forget Ladybug always fixes everything in the end with her magic ladybugs! The akumatized victims forget what happened to them.
Oh yeah, this is totally ethical, you guys. Who cares about the emotional trauma an Akuma victim would go through, much less any civilians endangered by their rampage?
To make things even better, guess who Nino wants to get akumatized?
Okay, putting aside what we, the audience, already know about Gabriel that Nino doesn't, why would he think pissing off one of the most influential fashion designers in the city of Paris is a good idea? He says he's targeting him because it's easy to do so during parent-teacher conferences, but why not target someone else who has been akumatized more often than him, like Xavier/Mr. Pigeon? I don't think the idea of a more morally gray plan to stop Monarch is a bad one, it's just that this plan is so stupid, and the writers only go over the ethical implications, and that said plan is so ludicrous, Nino is basically asking for a restraining order.
While Adrien and Marinette agree to Nino's plan, Alya only hesitantly goes along with it, but unbeknownst to any of them, Lila was overhearing their conversation, so she goes to tell Gabriel what they're doing. During the conferences, Marinette barges in and pretends to trip and drop some pizza onto Gabriel's clothes, and I'm going to assume that either the pizza was cold of Gabriel is really good at keeping a cool head because there's no way taking a hot pizza to the chest wouldn't hurt like hell. Adrien and Alya come in with more food, and we get the one funny joke of the episode with Alya half-assing her performance as the half-heartedly throws some cake onto Gabriel's suit. Pretty funny how Nino is conveniently the only one who isn't taking the risk by attacking Gabriel in front of his teacher by filming the whole thing, isn't it?
Gabriel has had enough and does a 180, planning to take Adrien out of school and somehow, Marinette blames herself for going along with the plan... even though she was the only one to not approve of it, while Adrien and Alya did, and even then, the latter two were very hesitant. It turns out this was all part of Gabriel's plan, as we see him transform into Monarch as soon as he gets to his lair and uses Trixx's power to create a Mirage of his civilian form, having a breakdown so dramatic, I'm surprised he didn't end it by saying, “YOU ARE TEARING ME APART, MARINETTE!”.
The illusion of Gabriel turns into the Collector again, and now he supposedly has the Horse Miraculous' Voyage as a power. Adrien and Marinette transform into Cat Noir and Ladybug respectively, and try to fend off the “Akuma”. Back in Monarch's lair, we learn that he somehow has the ability to unify with five different Miraculous at once, choosing to do so with the Bee, Mouse, Horse, and Rooster Miraculous. Why is he able to do this now?
youtube
Monarch uses Voyage and heads to the sewers, activating Venom before using Multiplication to create eight smaller clones of himself, finally using Sublimination to give the copies the power of invisibility. Strange, wouldn't wanting to be invisible count as a wish? While looking for “the Collector”, Ladybug uses her Lucky Charm, getting a bag of shredded cheese. The two chase after the illusion, only to fall through a Voyage portal into the sewers, where Cat Noir is almost immediately stunned by one of the clones. Hey, it took five whole episodes this season for him to be incapacitated by an Akuma to pointlessly raise the stakes this time! It's a new record! Ladybug throws the cheese to reveal the clones, who are then chased off by some nearby rats.
Monarch goes back to his normal form, and after a small pep talk, the illusion pretends to reject the Akuma entirely before falling into the water. The real Gabriel detransforms and then pretends to have gotten out. So Gabriel tricked the heroes with his foolproof plan... except for the fact that Ladybug and Cat Noir should have recognized the use of Venom, the hidden clones of the Collector when the video Nino got only said he had the Horse Miraculous' power, the akuma somehow purifying itself when Ladybug still needed to de-evilize it in “Rocketear” and “Penalteam”, the fact that Gabriel should be soaking wet from falling into the water, and the—okay, you all know where this is going.
youtube
Meanwhile, Nino sees the footage of the illusion and sees what he believes to be the way Monarch gave the Collector the Horse Miraculous' powers. Nino then apologizes to Gabriel for attacking him, Gabriel forgives him, and Nino invites him into the Resistance, with a bunch of new members. The final scene reveals that in addition to Nino, Alya, Marinette, Adrien, and Gabriel, the Resistance now has Max, Kim, Rose, Juleka, Ivan, Mylene, and to Marinette's horror, Lila. Also, there's a post-credits scene where Gabriel explains what he did to Tomoe when literally everyone watching was able to figure it out.
Okay, so let's summarize. The first mission for Nino's resistance involved assaulting a private civilian, was easily discovered before it could even be implemented, was just as easily foiled by an illusion, now Monarch and one of his allies have infiltrated the alliance as moles, and Nino isn't even aware that his plan was a colossal failure. This resistance isn't exactly going to be like the Rebel Alliance, is it?
Yeah, this episode sucked. It's easily the worst one so far in my opinion. There were a handful of decent moments and ideas here, but my God, the story was just terrible. Morally gray subject or not, it's hard to get behind the heroes when they try to intentionally piss someone off for a plan that the audience knows is going to fail, especially a plan as stupid as Nino's. This episode features Nino at his most obnoxious and unlike Alya, Marinette, and especially Adrien, he doesn't even feel bad for what he did to Gabriel when it ended up being (as far as we know) completely pointless. It feels like the writers wanted to gloss over the ethics of Nino's plan by making Gabriel the victim, because if it was anyone else, it would have made him look like a colossal prick. The fact that he learns nothing and thinks his moronic scheme was a success really doesn't help.
The other characters thankfully weren't as bad. It seemed like the writers were trying to show some self-awareness by having Alya, Marinette, and Adrien object to the plan in one way or another, but it never really went much other than them begrudgingly going along with it, much less calling him out for his actions. At the same time, they all got some decent moments, like Alya and Marinette's discussion about Monarch and Adrien struggling to convey his feelings about the Alliance rings to Gabriel.
It's also kind of weird that it took us about five episode into the season for Lila to finally be relevant again after she did absolutely nothing for the last three episodes of Season 4 and the first four episodes of this season. It was only three and a half years since “Ladybug”, the last major Lila episode premiered, right? But hey, at least the writers didn't overindulge in the dumb Lila lies like her other episodes, and was used more as an informant to kick off Gabriel's counter to Nino's plan.
Putting aside how terrible Nino's plan was, Gabriel's plan still had a lot of problems to it. Like I already mentioned, it's a little strange that Ladybug and Cat Noir never talk about the tiny clones they fought, or the fact that Cat Noir was stung by Venom. I can kind of suspend my disbelief by saying Ladybug was too focused on the battle to think, but why the hell didn't Cat Noir say anything? You would think after working alongside Queen Bee and Vesperia, he would recognize what being stung by Venom must look like. Yeah, Ladybug and Cat Noir didn't know Monarch can now use more powers for some reason, but it still really bothers me, because they should know the Collector can't multiply himself. It's also strange that he made his trick so hard to find when you would think it would be more obvious to see
But overall, this one was just a chore to get through. It feels like the writers saw how much some people didn't like Nino in “Rocketear”, and were like, “You call THAT character assassination?” And speaking of...
THE BIGGEST IDIOT OF THE EPISODE IS... NINO
Was there ever any doubt? The dude talked about his identity in a public place, nonchalantly blew him and his girlfriend's cover when he had no reason to for his Resistance, tried to get his best friend's dad akumatized while not caring about any potential damage, showed no remorse for what he did when his plan blew up in his face, tried to tell Ladybug and Cat Noir about what he learned while they were fighting the Collector, and all that was for a plan that didn't even work because the intel was discovered with ease, to say nothing about how he unintentionally let two enemies into his own Resistance. I've seen a lot of stupid decisions in this show, but never have I seen a single episode where a character makes screw-up after screw-up and doesn't even realize how much of a colossal moron he's being. With the past five episodes I covered and awarded Biggest Idiot Awards to (Ladybug, Alya, Xuppu, Mr. Damocles, and Luka), it was more them not seeing the bigger picture. Here, Nino is honestly trying to help Ladybug and Cat Noir, yet he failed at his job in every way.

there's obviously a lot I want to see in nightbringer, but one thing I haven't seen mentioned yet is solomon. I want to see why so many demons (including the demon brothers) see him so badly. he doesn't treat the mc, a human, the same way he treats demons and we don't ever get to see him be an asshole but I kind of want to? just to see how much his character has grown
according to the game page apparently solomon is helping the mc mask as a demon too so it would be fun for others to notice that solomon is very nice to some random "demon" they never seen before lol I just want to let him live up to his reputation for once, we hear so many things about him from others in the game, but he's always such a sweetheart to mc, and the few scenes we do see of him being a sneaky or a little mean don't seem like enough for demons to feel the way they do about him
also mc pretending to be a demon would be so easy, like the mc is so fucked up I feel like even real demons would find them off-putting, especially if they play it up a bit
While talking with MC in S3 I believe, Solomon says he only started treating the demons he had pacts with (72 of them) like friends recently. I believe it's heavily implied that up until that point he treated them as tools for him to use rather than actual people.
He also got Asmo blackout drunk while Asmo was already in an upset/vulnerable mood in order to make a pact with him, solely so he could get closer to Lucifer. Current Asmo says he doesn't mind, but past Asmo might have actually being pissed about it, Lucifer (& Belphie) would have definitely been pissed about it given how Lilith's interactions with humans went
Given those two points^ there's a high chance he tricked more of his 72 demons into pacts with him
He was also working with/for Michael at the time and I don't think there'll be many demons with anything good to say about Michael, specially at a time where the war had just settled down
Also in one of the recent events MC asks Solomon to tell them something scary (or something to that effect) and he tells them about taking control of the Devildom - Barbatos (who's known Solomon for a long time and is very observant) says that Solomon sounded a little too sincere
Also I really wanna know why he got basically kicked out from the Sorcerer's Society that he helped form and why he had a falling out with his previous apprentice that was so bad that even thousands of years later he still isn't welcome within the society
Plus his whole thing with the ocean! Living by the ocean for a time, liking fish but hating the ocean! If they follow the irl myths it probably had something to do with Asmo and I can't wait to see that trainwreck
Oh yeah gen MC has shown multiple times that they're very down with setting people on fire, very down with destructive violence and very turned on (or at the very least, not disturbed) by the brothers casually mentioning things like eating humans or eating/killing them even (*cough*halloween event*cough*vampire event*cough*paws event*caugh*) and has NO sense of self preservation to the point that it usually freaks the actual demons out
I can't wait to see how this shit plays out. I hope MC gets to be just as unhinged as in og OM!

»»-----------► Series Masterlist
In recent weeks, college life has been hectic, but a welcome break has arrived in the form of Engineering convention week. This week-long event offers students a break from their regular studies, providing a platform to delve deeper into their field through different seminars and workshops. Beyond the confines of classroom theory, students seize the opportunity to expand their knowledge and get the chance to interact with other students as well. Amidst the event, quirky competitions like the pasta stick bridge-making challenge add a dose of excitement, prompting a laughter among participants as they witnessed their own creation fail.
Among the throng of students revelling in this educational event is Wanda, a sophomore in the civil engineering department. She was one of the fortunate students who had been granted a scholarship, though it was never easy to be one of the scholars since she took multiple tests in order to be included on the list. The delight and relief that she felt when she received an email regarding the scholarship was a weight off her shoulders since she would work as a barista in a cafe and would tutor kids for extra income, just enough to sustain her basic necessities.
At the end of the event, a lecture will be held and the chosen speaker was a well respected and sought-after engineer. Natasha Romanoff, CEO of a big construction firm that is very well-known and popular in the engineering industry.
Wanda was so excited to attend the lecture since the woman was the engineer who had provided a scholarship program to the students who are in need of one. She's also hoping to meet Natasha and give her thanks in person.
Wanda found the lecture highly informative and was thoroughly impressed by Natasha's presentation skills. Natasha adeptly explained technical concepts in structural engineering, providing practical examples to illustrate theories.
"I'm grateful for the invitation to speak today, and it's heartening to see so many people sharing my passion for this field. Best of luck with your educational endeavours."
A round of applause rang out throughout the room as they praised Natasha for her wonderful lecture. Wanda was disappointed when it concluded after two hours, wishing it could have been longer to absorb more insights from Natasha.
As Natasha stepped down from the elevated platform, Wanda stood and walked to the side of the room to greet her. Her hands grew clammy with nerves at the prospect of meeting Natasha, so she wiped them on the side of her pants before approaching.
"Um, hi, Miss Natasha. I'm Wanda," she stammered, her nerves evident in her shaky voice. "I just wanted to introduce myself since I'm one of the recipients of your scholarship offerings."
Wanda's words tumbled out in a rush until she finally came face to face with Natasha. Oh, the woman was stunning. Her emerald green eyes shimmered under the lights, her face adorned with a delicate layer of makeup, and a lop-sided smile gracing her lips. It sent a flurry of butterflies fluttering in Wanda's stomach, causing her to trail off momentarily in awe.
"Hello, Wanda. I do recall your name from the list of potential grantees," Natasha greeted warmly, extending her hand. Wanda eagerly clasped it for a handshake.
"I wanted to personally thank you for the opportunity to study at this prestigious university," Wanda expressed her gratitude sincerely to the woman before her.
"You are most welcome, dear. I hope you enjoy your time here and make the most of your learning experience. I'm eager to see what the future holds for you," Natasha replied graciously, her voice laden with warmth at the same time with power. Without hesitation, she offered her personal calling card to Wanda and added that she can call her if she needed help.
After several days of their initial meeting, during which Wanda found herself repeatedly glancing at the card Natasha had given her, she finally summoned the courage to send a message to the other woman. Despite the initial nerves, both Wanda and Natasha quickly agreed to stay in touch, eager to get to know one another.
Natasha's curiosity about Wanda was obvious, as she frequently inquired about her life and interests. Wanda, accustomed to solitude with few friends to confide in, soaked up Natasha's interest with open arms, grateful for the opportunity to share even the simplest details about herself. She would find herself daydreaming about the woman and would always think about the fiery eyes that once looked at her.
Wanda had revealed that she works at a cafe near the university and Natasha began visiting Wanda, initially keeping things friendly and casual. However after a few days of exchanging messages, Natasha's intentions became clear as she expressed her desire for Wanda to work for her, albeit with certain conditions.
Natasha offered to alleviate Wanda's financial burdens, but in return, Wanda would be at Natasha's beck and call. Intrigued by the prospect and Natasha's wealth and beauty, Wanda accepted the proposition, gladly.
Their relationship started slowly, with Natasha's first demand being that Wanda quit her job to focus solely on fulfilling her needs and wants.
After a while, Natasha provided Wanda with a credit card with no spending limit, encouraging her to make purchases that pleased her. This newfound financial freedom was overwhelming for Wanda, who had grown up in an average family and struggled to comprehend the costs of clothing she's been buying, which often equaled her rent expenses.
Natasha didn't rush into inviting Wanda to live with her, understanding that the young woman was still in the process of adjusting to her new environment. Instead, Natasha took a more gradual approach, fostering a close working relationship with Wanda. She even offered Wanda a temporary position, since she is still a college student, within her company to further develop her skills, a gesture that reflected Natasha's genuine interest in helping her grow.
Their daily interactions were filled with stolen kisses, though their affection was only limited to innocent touches and loving gazes. They both understood the need to keep their relationship discreet. After all, Wanda was still a student, just 21 years old, while Natasha, at 35, had already established herself in the industry. Despite the significant age gap, Wanda embraced the dynamic and, in fact, preferred older women, anyways.
While their relationship continued to progress, Wanda occasionally found it frustrating to witness the persistent attention men directed toward Natasha. These men were driven by either a desire to win her affection or to secure business partnerships. Wanda, in these moments, had a front-row seat to all the effort and charm these individuals put into their attempts to impress Natasha.
However, Wanda couldn't help but be captivated by Natasha's commanding presence. Natasha's innate dominance seemed to effortlessly exude from her, especially when she was fully immersed in her professional space. For Wanda, this aspect of Natasha's personality was not only alluring but also a source of pride.
As the months passed and their connection deepened, Natasha decided to invite Wanda to move in with her, a proposition that Wanda enthusiastically accepted without a moment's hesitation.
When Wanda moved in with Natasha, it was a big step forward in their relationship. Natasha was determined to make Wanda feel truly involved and committed to carefully planning how to keep their relationship strong and growing. Natasha laid out her honest and thrilling intentions to Wanda.
"From this day forward, you belong to me, as I belong to you. I am committed to fulfilling your needs, desires, and wishes. In return, I do hope that you will obey and respect my demands, as long as you're comfortable with them."
Upon hearing Natasha's confession, a shiver ran down Wanda's spine. It was the moment she had been both anticipating and fearing. She couldn't resist the pull of her emotions, surrendering her inhibitions willingly to the woman who had consumed her thoughts, day and night.
In return for her commitment, Natasha offered Wanda more than she had ever dared to dream of – a stable home and financial security. These were luxuries that had seemed out of reach, especially considering her past. However, this newfound comfort came with a significant price tag: her freedom. The demands of Natasha's commitment meant that Wanda would have limited independence. Yet, in Wanda's eyes, this trade-off was more than acceptable. The burden of financial worries was lifted from her shoulders, allowing her to focus entirely on her academic pursuits.
"You, Natasha Romanoff, a woman who took me by surprise. To this very moment, I find myself wondering what it was about me that captivated you so dearly. You went through the lengths just to get me close to you. Even if you don't have all this luxury and wealth, I think, I would still be into you."
"Well, it's all because of your good looks and enchanting mind, I can help but to be intrigued. It also didn't help that you look like you are begging for someone to put you in check and tell you what to do. Tell me I'm wrong, detka," Natasha says with much confidence, while looking the young woman right in the eye.
"It all became clear that I do want to be controlled by someone and you are the only person in this world that I would trust to do that."
Natasha smirks at Wanda's admission.
Everything that she planned is falling into place.

The post you had earlier about how quickly new technology has come in recently years is amazing and just puts things into perspective. Each decade will in fact look quite different as to what would be available. Stuff just 10 years ago can already be dated. I have a sci-fi story set in my own universe in which the story spans multiple decades. How do I create a similar advancement througout the decades? In fact, in thinking of other fictions that span decades or more - I don't really see such advancement. Some, yes, but nothing that appears and they always keep certain things 'retro' anyway. Not sure if it matters from this viewpoint but I can watch/read something, I don't find it easy to pinpoint its decade within the story just by tech cues. Whereas anything set in the last century, I generally absolutely can identify when its supposed to be. Especially if it's say... surrounding tech and not tech directly at the forefront of the story. Feels like there is something that I am missing that I could insert into my story that will explicitly date the events by its tech. Perhaps that's quite a pedantic point that most people don't really focus on, but I think it definitely would make things stand out and feel like it's an innovative society that makes advancements over the years.
Addy: I feel like there are two major possibilities for sci-fi: continued rapid development or a sort of slowed not-quite-a-plateau. In the second one, you'd see things like our developments with phones, but at a slower pace. Phones came out a while back, but they've been getting smaller (and then larger) with more features. Now they're basically mini-tablets with cell data. On another track, airplanes have certain limitations due to efficiency and interactions with air currents (flying too fast drives up your fuel consumption *rapidly*), and we also still use the SR-71 Blackbird, which came out in the 60s. Our ability to model things and develop things has improved massively, but the SR-71 still works really really well. It gets the job done and, more importantly, we already have it. Our world is a mixture of tried-and-true classics and new developments.
For sci-fi, I'd say a lot of it depends on where they turn their attention to. Can't get new developments in brightly-colored concrete if nobody's pursuing it, after all.... and a lot of that comes down to trends. Look at home development trends - the 2000s had a lot of heavy wood and whatnot, and then it swung into minimalism, and now it's slowly emerging from greige-land (gray+beige) into "some colors, but not too many (yet)." Call it around 15-20 years for a housing style to change. If you walk into a house with 70s decor, you can just tell. The style/era has characteristic features. The whole reason we have so many developments in phones is because people are interested in phones. If nobody cared, nothing would happen.
So what are people prioritizing for research, and how does that affect new developments? New methods of wood engineering, growing organs in labs (maybe there's a breakthrough that massively reduces the cost or reduces the rejection rate), vibrantly colored steel (not currently possible, to my knowledge, and I'm the steel person here), or something with temperature-sensitive plants to act as "natural" thermometers.
People want to develop and grow, it's just a matter of what we develop and when. What's the style of your era? What's the trend? How does that affect industrial research? Or, on the flip side, a new development could launch off a trend. Say you can make color-changing paint - that's going to launch a whole thing of people doing highly customizable rooms with whatever accent walls you want. And for why it doesn't take over and last forever... maybe it becomes kinda tacky after a few years. People might use color-changing paint while deciding what colors to use, but then go get proper paint for the "real thing" because color-changing paint just feels tacky and kinda outdated. Maybe it flakes off easily or is easily removable, or maybe it's super hard to remove. Either could make it feel troublesome to the layperson.
Maybe there have been some difficulties with growing most crops in lunar soil (which is basically rocks with no microbiome), and someone went "hey, if we add this chemical, that'd allow for better water penetration, which would allow for more plant variety" so now you've got a more varied diet instead of subsisting off of 2-3 plants.
One example of IRL research is someone whose project was to look at the amount of white on the wings of monarch butterflies before the migration and after the migration (seeing which butterflies survived to reproduce during that). They found that butterflies with more dappled edges did better, and that may be due to microcurrents at the edges of their wings kinda breaking up the wind. How that ties into the colors? Well, black absorbs heat and white reflects it, and that heat difference causes pressure differences that cause tiny tiny currents. That's the current theory, anyway, it's still being looked into.
People had looked into color differences a little bit, but hadn't really gotten into it properly. Maybe your world(s) didn't really think about it from that angle, and so after a certain year, all atmospheric vehicles with wings have characteristic dappled edges. Maybe those dapples change with time, like how the camouflage on military uniforms is more pixelated now to confuse cameras moreso than people. Maybe you see it on kites for children as well, or on drones or rotors or whatever else. Is the payoff worth it? Maybe not, but it's sci-fi. Why not?
For sci-fi fiction, I think that many franchises want it to appear sort of timeless, where everything kinda has the same general "sci-fi aesthetic" look to it. From that perspective, changes don't matter as much. I will say that Star Trek does have some of their aspects change over time (like more developed communicators and phasers, better EVO outfits, etc - compare Enterprise, TOS, and TNG, for example), though more slowly than in our modern day. The shapes of ships, the tools they use, etc.

Crafting a Conspiracy of Singlethood
I keep trying to make the erasure of plurality into a compelling conspiracy theory but I'm coming up short on some parts...
For some context, I've been thinking of ways to introduce plurality into conspiracy communities as a sort of trojan horse. When I've said I want to spread plural acceptance everywhere, I do indeed mean everywhere.
I think I can make a compelling case for endogenic plurality always existing. The imaginary friend phenomenon in children is bizarre when you look at it for more than a few minutes. About half of kids just seem to have other people in their heads they interact with, and at least two thirds of those tend to report their imaginary friends behaving in ways that are autonomous.
Due to societal pressure, children end up pushing those friends away before becoming adults.
Surely, it wouldn't be a stretch to convince conspiracy theorists that there had been some sort of mass cover-up. After all, why else would basically every institution ignore the oddities of this phenomenon and pretend it doesn't exist?
But... then that leaves a question of who and why...
For the Who... I'm thinking this can be tied back to the Church. Plurality was literally demonized and so-called imaginary friends were often seen as evil spirits to be gotten rid of. Later on, the psychiatric institutions born from predominantly Christian societies took the view that anyone else in your head simply isn't real and could be a sign of illness...
The one exception was for what they called "multiple personality" because they can't exactly ignore us when we can take over the body. But the Christian demonization of plurality carried over and resulted in all instances of "multiple personality" being seen as mental illness for a good century or so, until recent decades have called that into question with research into non-disordered plurality.
But that still leaves the other question... why?
The easy boring answer is that people fear the unknown. The Church didn't understand plurality, feared what they didn't understand, and tried to eliminate it.
While this answer is probably more true... it's also not compelling.
The idea that current plural stigma is the result of thousands of years of ignorance is boring.
No, if we want to make this conspiracy theory really stick the landing, we need an intentional coverup.
When Plurality Ruled The World...
So this is the part where I need help. I have a theory that plurality, in the form of communication with gods and spirits, would have been pretty common in pagan cultures. And the people who led these cultures would be more likely to be those communing directly with these spirits and gods, and even acting as vessels with them. In other words, the world would have been ran by plurals.
Thus, Christians who were trying to maintain control would have reason to literally demonize all instances of plurality. Establish the myth of one person per body, and that anything else has to be demonic possession.
Thus you have nearly 2000 years of parents being manipulated into believing the natural plurality of their children is a result of possession.
It's a good, compelling story. But so far, it's not much more than that.
I'm not a historian, our knowledge of pagan religions from the past is sparse at best.
I've found an article online discussing what sounds a lot like plurality with the Egyptian pharaohs having the spirits of the the gods within them, guiding them.
But I need more examples of ancient plurality, and preferably from better sources than "Tour Egypt."
If there were enough examples of this in pagan religions, we can frame the erasure and demonization of plurality as an intentional cover-up by those in power to maintain that power and control the population.
That's a good story to tell to conspiracy theorists. It just needs a stronger foundation.
